crowley conspiracy connoiseur i wanna confirm smth, is it true that Crowley NEVER ever used his magic??

Like without the aid of a magical item (e.g the part where he drank a transformation potion on prologue to turn into a ghost to test Grim and Yuu, thats not exactly HIS magic) I dont think he ever did?? Like even just a simple teleportation spell he never casted anything--- but he has knowledge about magic thats for sure--

but back to the question— he never ever casted a single magic in lore right??? Cuz I think its bcs his magic heavily relies on the Dark Mirror, thats why when theres an overblot hes not doing anything like fight it himself despite being the headmaster-- instead he uses the magic of students-- because he cant do anything magical without that Dark Mirror??

Or maybe his magic is really just prophetic, which is completely useless in combat/power kajsja

am gonna die if he actually used magic but i just forgot 💀💀💀

Just like Crowley, the answer to this very good question is annoyingly complicated ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´ω`ﾟ)ﾟ｡ Because it’s YES and…No???

The thing is, in the Twisted Wonderland game, he never uses magic, so you are correct! The Dark Mirror, the Potion, the Ghost Camera, and that magic Hammer thing for the guest room: all of these are magic items that Crowley has used. Even in the Savanaclaw chapter where he teaches Ace, Deuce, and Grim about blot, he summons the three Ramshackle ghosts to battle them to create blot. He has never been in a battle in-game, which is very sus. It’s even lampshaded in the prologue, when Crowley says to catch the runaway Grim at the entrance ceremony, Leona says “why don’t you do it yourself?”

But here’s where it gets complicated: In both the manga and the novel, he DOES use magic- but on a very minor scale.

He demonstrates fire magic with the tip of one claw, saying how imagination is vital to casting magic

And in the Heartslabyul manga AND the novel when Riddle overblots, he actually casts a barrier to protect the students from the debris. (Tee hee he was lowkey kinda cool for this)

And finally, in the novel he seems to magically give Grim the magestone collar.

This inconsistency makes me weirdly grumpy lmao, because isn’t it strange how there are no rumors about the Headmage’s “strong magical power!” Or something? You’d think that the headmage of a prestigious academy would have those types of rumors surrounding him, but he doesn’t. However, I am consoled by the fact that nearly all the magic Crowley has used in outside-game stuff (minus the little fire) is all PASSIVE/DEFENSIVE magic.

Barriers, summoning items. Not the most aggressive type of magic, right? So I think you’re right that Crowley may not have strong attack-type magic, which makes sense if he’s inspired by Maleficent’s raven. Diablo supports Maleficent; he’s not the one shooting lightning at everybody! In Idia’s Night Raven Quest, Crowley is definitely the defense/support type 🤪 Perhaps he really can’t do anything with the Overblots because he can’t attack with magic well.

It’s also become a running gag that Crowley “appears” in front of people literally whenever. I don’t think it’s teleportation magic- but a transformation. He seem to turn into a raven/crow in the opening animation several times, so maybe he doesn’t even need teleportation magic? He can just turn into a tiny bird, very inconspicuous, and turn back into his human form to catch people off guard. And if he is Levan, who was the left-hand war general, he would have a significant amount of physical strength and fighting prowess. Hmmm…

Now that you mention it though, I realize NRC actually has a lot of connection with things that DONT use magic 🤔 Pomefiore with poisons and curses, Ignihyde with machines, Savanaclaw and sports, Octanivelle and intellect, and Scarabia with astrology?!? Interesting how the stars can be used for predictions 👀 I wished it was mentioned in-game tho…Anyway, Diasomnia is this one weird case where the students there are literally just good at magic 😭 SUS?!?!?

HI THOUGHTS ON THE NEW TRAILER (if you've seen it - or if you're going in blind, ARE YOU EXITED)?

GOSH i have… CONFLICTED FEELINGS!

First, briefly, elephant in the room: I don’t really support JDS the real life company. No judgement to those that are excited to get the game, you know, no ethical consumption under capitalism and all that and we all gotta just make our own choices about where we draw our own lines. But just for me, I… personally don’t feel good about the idea of, deciding all their weird behaviour and mistreatment and unprofessionalism is fine in the end as long as the trailer looks cool. I’m intrigued by where BATDR will go, and it’s apparent the folks that worked on it put a lot of love into it. It’s possible I’ll change my mind; maybe as time passes it’ll become clear that they’ve cleaned up their act (though that one staff member’s passive-aggressive reactions to the last controversy video are uh, not promising). Or maybe someone will finally speak on this, say that the backlash to all their earlier bullshittery was a wake-up call, and they took steps to get their shit together so it would never happen again, but they didn’t want to address it publicly until they had a game in hand to regain the community’s good will. That would make sense. I don’t really expect this to happen, though, so I am not planning to buy/play/stream the game for now.

But, you know, I never played the original BatIM, either, and that didn’t stop me from being totally obsessed. So setting my misgivings about the actual company aside: THE TRAILER

I LOVE…. SON BOY BENDY…. IM SO HAPPY HES CUTE… I can’t believe Bendy is actually going to be in a Bendy game. This is hands down the thing I am the most giddy about. ALSO I KNEW HE WAS GONNA BE IN THE VERY END OF THE TRAILER I KNEW IT

It’s really encouraging to see them teasing new characters and new story and new circumstances, rather than leaning on Established Old Favs for hype… feels like there’s really a new story to tell here, with big changes in the status quo of the studio, rather than just trying to make More Of BatIM?????, which is great to see. It looks potentially really cool for fans of the original game.

“Beware the ink demon” “What’s an ink demon?” is actually great

At the same time… I have this feeling that I'm not the target audience. Like, it looks potentially way better than I expected, but those good choices ultimately lead further away from the stuff that interests me most (the pre-ink studio). The inky studio is interesting to me as a consequence of JDS, as a vehicle through which to discover what went wrong in the real world… and from what we’ve seen in the trailer, we’ve kinda moved beyond that in BatDR. I think that’s a smart creative decision that bodes well for the game, while also being not quite what I’m looking for. It’s a strange feeling! I'm not EXCITED like many of my fandom friends, but I am intrigued and interested.

(while proofreading this answer this morning in order to post it, the JDS Press Archive updated on the website with the first newspaper clipping and IM IMMEDIATELY FEELING WAY MORE DELIGHTED.... the trailer is fine BUT APPARENTLY WHAT I REALLY WANT IS MORE NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS LMAO)

I usually find comparisons of BatIM to Bioshock sort of reductive (like….other horror games have audiologs….BatIM doesn’t have plasmids or anything like the Big Daddies/Little Sisters or a Would You Kindly Twist or Critiques of Objectivism or ANY OF THE BIG ICONIC THINGS so like, the inspiration is clear but I really don't think it's Just Trying To Be Bioshock) but BOY HOWDY DOES BATDR SEEM TO BE TURNING THE BIOSHOCK VIBES UP TO 11 LMAO. thats not a complaint it just SURE IS THAT

One of the things I find a shame in batim proper is how quickly it stops being an animation studio with a weird cult around its main character. By chapter 3 it’s all SO mechanical like some kinda nonsensical factory… and this beautiful sprawling world in BatDR looks really cool, with a design that's filled with love and care!! but is also less and less an animation studio where something went wrong. Again, conflicted feelings!!

OBVIOUSLY if Sammy appears in the game for more than a cameo I AM REALLY CURIOUS what all of this has done to him. Is he dead? Is he still in Chapter 5 mode and incoherent? Is he able to find a new purpose in a world that’s supposedly free of the Demon? Or is he a “demon follower” who’s gone into hiding since his god was (allegedly) murdered? BECAUSE THAT LAST ONE COULD MAKE HIM QUITE AN IMPORTANT ANTAGONIST ACTUALLY,

(this is getting into wild speculation territory but i would ALSO be down for Sammy having immediately attached himself to this wilson fellow. Just keep up the trend of putting your total faith in the least trustworthy people Mr Lawrence!!!)

Tips for writing accents

I made a list for these a while ago but I had to update a bunch of stuff recently so I thought I'd post it.

Accents below are: southern, Scottish, German, French, Russian, Boston and Australian

Note: these tips are only found through my personal expirence and research (which is always fairly limited) so if anything's weird I apologize

Southern accent

When writing anything ending in ing ALWAYS remove the g and replace it with a '

Ex: I was sitin' watchin' my game.

Replace to (not too or two) with ta

Ex: "Trying ta work is hard. Too hard"

When they have a strong accent, replace long I's with 'Ah'

Ex: "Ah was silent and Ah hated mah life"

Note: try not to change long I's in the middle of words (such as silent). Even if it is how it sounds in real life it just makes it too hard to read

Exception: You can change the long I sound in the middle of a word if it is a name.

Contractions everywhere. Ain't, can't, don't, all of them. Use them all. Use them when you're not supposed to! Such as with its, of and than. Instead of its write s' infront of a word, insted of of write 'a at the end of a word and instead of than write 'n at the end of a wod.

Ex: "s'rather nice outside'a town. Rather stay here'n inside"

Exception: any word ending with an a can be left alone when it comes to adding 'a at the end. So so you don't have to put kinda'a. You can just leave it as kinda. Same with 'n and words like than.

Dad is called pa and mom is usually maw

Ex: "mah maw and pa are at home right now"

Replace you with ya

Ex: "ya seem to be havin' trouble"

A southern accent is rather lazy, but not written in stone. Usually when a charecter gets upset their accent might get stronger but in the case of a southern accent it actually tends to get a bit weaker. The points it gets weakest at are wherever you have them speaking with the most emphasis.

Ex: 'ya are the lowest'a the low' would change to 'you are the lowest of the low'

Exception: ALWAYS follow the ing rule. Always. No matter what.

Howdy and Y'all are still very much used all the time. Y'all is how to address any group of two or more people and howdy is how to say hi 87% of the time.

Terms of endearment are used rather flipently. Sweetheart, darling, bo, partner, you get it. So unless they're being serious(and sometimes even then), it's good to use these terms. Also southerners use these terms even when they're being mean. Sweetheart (derogatory)

Any time you're making comparisons or exaggerations use stranger terms that stay with a southern theme.

Note: exaggerations tend to be turned into comparisons.

Ex: 'Thats thing's huge!" And 'That looks like crap'

turn to

'That thing's bigger'n a tornado in a cornfield!' And 'That looks worse'n a chicken in a fox house'

Scottish

Mom and dad are maw and da

Write me instead of my

'me da was a great man'

Instead of you write ye (for emphasis) or yeh (when relaxed). Also write yer instead of your.

Ex: "yeh've never seen me hair before?" Or "ye better keep yer damn trap shut boyo"

Follows the same ing rule as a sothern accent. Always get rid of the g and replace it with '

Ex: "We were drawing, writing and singing"

turns to

"We were drawin', writin' and singin'"

Men are lads and woman are lasses

"The lads and lasses are dancin'"

Little turns to wee

Ex: "she was a wee lass" or "just a wee bit more"

When you have anything with a 't contraction, keep the from half of the word and replace the 't with nnae

Ex: "can't, don't and isn't" turn into "cannae, donnae and isnnae"

Note: 'going to' also applied to this rule as gonnae

When ow is at the end of a sentence and it makes and oh sound, replace it with a.

Ex: "window, elbow and arrow" turn into "winda, elba and arra"

And, of course, there are a lot of random Scottish words and specific expression. The one's I have I'll list here, but I'm sure there is a LOT more.

Yer bums out the winda - you're not making sense

Backy - smoke, tobacco

Ball bag - insult

Bonnie - lovely, beautiful, sweet

Balloon - idiot

Bairn - child

Boggin - dirty

Crabbit - grumpy

Daftie - light insult

Bowfing - heavy insult, ugly

Steamin - drunk

Mink - gross person

Numpty - idiot (light insult)

Skelp - to hit lightly

German

W sounds are replaced with v sounds

Ex: "we are one team" turns to "ve are vone team"

Th sounds are replaced by z sounda

Ex: "that thing over there" turns to "zat zing over zere"

When at the beginning of a word, s sounds turn to sh sounds

Ex: "seashells are super small" turns to "sheashells are shuper shmall"

Y sounds turn to J sounds

Ex: "you know you like New York" turns to "jou know jou like New Jork"

French

Again Th sounds turn to z sounds

Ex: "that thing over there" turns to "zat zing over zere"

H sounds are silent and thus are replaced with '

Ex: "her hair is highlighted" turn to "'er 'air is 'ighlighted"

Note: there are still h's in the sentence but they are already silent so you shouldn't remove them.

Russian

Small i sounds should be replaced by an ee sound

Ex: "the little man had kittens and kicks" turns to "the leetle man had keetens and keecks"

Similar to a German accent, the w sounds are replaced by v sounds

Ex: "we are one team" turns to "ve are vone team"

Boston accent

Th sounds are replaced by d sounds

Ex: "that thing over there" turns to "dat ding over dere"

Another repeat of the ing rule, however this can be ignored liberally. So you can use it all the time, none of the time or only half the time and it still remains the same.

Ex: "We were drawin', writin' and singin'"

Another use of lot of contractions, however you don't want to make any new ones up here. Just use them whenever there's a chance to.

Ex:"I will not, but why can I not?" Turns to "I won't but why can't I?"

Australian

An Australian accent is mostly just slang words so if you're trying to write this I suggest you just look up a bunch of those words and use them. However I still have a few basic rules.

Long I sounds are replaced with oi.

Ex: "I think nice people are liars" turns to "Oi think noice people are loiars"

Note: when it comes to y's that make a long I sound, just put an o in front of the y

Ex: "why is it my time to cry" turns to "whoy is it moy toime ta croy"

Replace to (not too or two) with ta

Ex: "Troying ta work is hard. Too hard"

The ing rule is back. Replace that g with a '. And again, it can be used liberally. Sometimes, all the time or none of the time. Just depending on how thick the accent is.

Ex: "We were drawin', wroitin' and singin'"

And that's it! I hope this was able to help a few of you since having it all written down most defiantly helps me.

˚✧ atm i write fanfics to practice writing and build an audience, and i draw fanart to improve art skill, also just so i have an art portfolio,,,, cuz if i just started posting games without much of a background i feel like ppl are gonna be like,, "who tf is this???" lol

i'm really interested in making my own games, specifically rpg maker ones because rpg maker/rpg horror/indie horror is my fav genre (pewdiepie's misao gameplay was my first horror game ever <3); i just love retro horror style a lot

so i'm practicing pixel art and stuff and then later i want to learn some 日本語 so i can translate the games, and also learn to make music so i can go full toby fox lol

and then maybe later on if i got rlly ambitious and had a lot of money id make fancy otome games, manga, fancy horror games, and pERSONA FOR GIRLS

i have a lot of ideas for diff series and id love to share them all <3

˚✧ game wise: currently my inspirations are charon (of those yan charon games) and dsp (ik they go by a different name now but that's what i know them as, also its funny because the name reminds me of darksydephil HAHAHA); i like the retro pixel and slight horror themes and aesthetic of their games, but i dislike the writing, so i'm gonna make my own :D

also i like the idea of an oc multiverse like dsp's so i want that too

toby fox is also technically an inspiration too; i wanna learn music so i can make my own bangers with little references and leitmotifs for fun :>>>

˚✧ writing wise: i have a lot, but my main inspirations are mostly like writing in the anime-ish games; danganronpa, persona, ace attorney, yttd, kakegurui; psychological stuff where you gotta think about them, but they also have unique quirky characters and they interact with each other in creative ways

also horror and psychological, i like writing about scary stuff and characters with their complexities, and addressing the rlly messed up parts of humanity and society bc its spooky;; sometimes with a very dark nihilistic outlook bc i love angst, or sometimes with an optimistic one

((thats kinda why i like yan stories but more in the horror sense, like look at all the crazy scary stuff this person is doing lol))

but for characters in general, i like stuff with FEMCS <33333 persona 3 with ya girl kotone shiomi, danganronpa v3 with kaede, sara in your turn to die, genshin lumine, and that one part in ace attorney where we get to play as mia fey

that's also why i lowkey like the writing in romcom/chick flick movies, cuz its just unique characters and stories and usually has a female protag or a group of girls as the mcs

LIKE MISS CONGENIALITY, MEAN GIRLS, AND LEGALLY BLONDE I LOVE THOSE MOVIES SM AND I HAVE MILLIONS MORE EXAMPLES BUT WE'D BE HERE FOREVER

but aside from heavy and horror stories, i also like simple cute straightforward stories like older barbie movies XD (or winx, mlp, bratz, monster high…); they're just really wholesome and cute where ya girl goes on a magical adventure with quirky characters and learns good lessons like trust, courage, friendship, etc…

ITS MUSHY BUT I LOVE IT AAAAA

so my main theme is being a girl and doing stuff, bc girlbossing is fun

but ya know i like making hot guy characters too wwwww

i'd say in general its like a mix of asian themes with western; its like anime but with western elements in it

Theres lots of “Raiden is time player” stuff so far

The reason I think Baal is a Rage or Hope player is because her beliefs on what Enternity are very specifically skewed not JUST to mean "time passing"

This is something I've found very interesting about almost every Electro user IVe seen the quests of, or know what they act like. Almost every Electro user, as a very skewed, contrarian view of things around them. They often times have familiars, or rather, "imaginary friends" created by their own beliefs and that stem from a prolonged sense of loneliness and almost denial of things, as they desire to take control of reality around them to cope with the rather harsh realities around them.

This is seen with Razor, through his wolf spirit and his denial to properly intergrate back into a society he would normally belong to and his wanting to see only the wolves as his means to life. This is seen through Fischl too, with her Crow/Raven companion and her almost sincerely delusional way of speech and addressing herself, reffering to herself as Royalty, a creator of worlds and speaking boistoriously to a point the crow needs to translate her often. Qaqing isnt quite like this from what I've seen, but she believes the only true path is to a;llow the beliefs and hopes of people towards gods should die out in the modern age. Even Ningguang implicating this would normally make her look like someone kinda crazy and not exactly as trust worthy to people typically.

This gives me the exact energies of characters like Eridan and Jake English, Eridan with his extreme veiws skewed towards joining the enemy being the only way out of the game; and with Jake English's denial and deep seeted need to act like a Cool Movie Guy and be very peppy macho on the surface to ignore the reality around him.

Baal does the same exact thing to absolute extreme. She believes hiding herself away, creating a new version of herself to take over and leaving the rest to Yae Miko and the other politicians in Inuzuma will just take care of the rest will allow nothing to ever change. But she winds up doing this to a tyrannical level. She even tries to create another person out of the hope it will be a replacement for the loss of her sister with what she remembers and believes her sister to have been more like to see if she could create hope for a future to continue as it always had been with her twin on the helm of things, and as a fear of controlling him but having no use for him, tosses him.

Shes deeply troubled, depressed and resentful of her sisters passing, so much so she would have rather create another plaine of existence where experiencing the real world just doesn’t even need to happen anymore; Shes in denial that “enternity” staying in her world and just stagnate in a never ending place where nothing bad or good ever happens isnt realistic, isnt healthy and time passing needs to take its course, but more in the sense she just doesn’t want to face it at all, she doesnt want to accept people and things need to change, need to face hardships, and that she needs to accept responsibility for what she herself has done too by being gone for so long. She also has Yae Miko, who while down to earth in comparison to most Electros I’ve seen, is literally Baal’s own familiar that translates her in a sense and knows whats best for Raiden, which she understands Baal’s mentality / way of thinking a little too well. Is still of the belief she can be redeemed even during her tyranny.

I dont know much about Beidou - But shes a Pirate, and I dont really need to explain why this seems like a rebellion out of resentment for how things are and how she drinks and is always a lot less uptight than characters like Ningguang seems like her own sense of Escapism.

🌘: Pretty cool vibes, the interior is not particularly dim and their stained glass cross and the table with candles they had set up was what got me thinking it looked cool.

The pastor is funny and has a friendly demeanour, no complaints on that end.

The service songs are acceptable. Its the usual stuff praisng God and Jesus, but they had these 3 singers on stage and it sounded good.

It can be abit hard to find since you have to navigate through the entrance of St Hilda's Secondary School, but as long as you're not blur (IM LOOKING AT U 🍳 HOW THE BLOODY HELL DID U END UP IN ANOTHER CHURCH???) it's pretty accessible.

Not very cult like (not anymore than a normal church, anyways). 🍳 was a coward so we didn't get to ask the pastor questions or anything, but they did ask if there were any newcomers (and they asked newcomers to fill up a form that wanted our contact no. and email and address but...yk...from what ik thats pretty standard for churches) and the ushers were generally helpful and friendly.

The service itself was fairly basic, nothing that particularly stood out. They seemed really bonded as a community and they had plenty of events for youth and families both. They had an online brochure of their ongoing and upcoming events and everything so I'd say their events game is strong.

Overall it's not something I particularly want to spend time at, but I'd probably go more if there was less singing and more exploring the text of the bible, because I find the way they interpret it interesting.

🍳: DEBUT CHURCH!!! (i got lost twice otw) Stained glass was COOL but other than that interior was pretty basic. THEY HAVE A LIVE BAND THAT IS VERY EPIC and the singers voices were so angelic??? Apparently there was an event that day but I wasn't really listening but I think the singers were from another church.

Pastor was funny af tbh love that!!! Has a very community gathering kinda vibe, very bonded and friendly and someone that helped guide me there cos i was LOST ! Meditation parts were lowkey therapeutic felt like asmr.

Overall good experience? Probably just not used to going to church though cos I nearly fell asleep halfway the sermons.

anyway uhh jokes and the mayhem aside i am. not looking forward to the eminent discourse and the hsr vs genshin situation flaring up again thanks to W + ratio incident.

(ensuing ramble dont mind me)

and like. for me im kinda like? idk not distraught enough to call myself torn or anything but it sure is a bit of a Huh moment to look at the way hsr operates w the community and all compared to genshin.

btw i have no like great morsels of wisdom here im just word vomiting some thoughts lmao

but like. logically (or should i say. rational- *GUNSHOT*) and purely from i guess the "hoyo" slash business pov. its 2 different games from different teams that belong to different genres and operate in vastly distinct environments in terms of like. competition and player retention. a turn based game like hsr isnt the kind of like. groundbreaking juggernaut that genshin was and is to this day (like. the famous "genshin killers" wya lmao). so to a certain extent at least its like. i can see how it affects this stuff i guess. genshin to this day hasnt felt the true pressure and need to care abt the community the way hsr is clearly angling more for.

but also imagine genuinely whiteknighting the genshin side of things to just settle for that excuse alone WDJWJKJWDKWD no fucking way 💀 like. that is Not the point im making at all. bc there comes a certain point where its just. yeah theres arguments to be made abt how the games differ and how hsr incentivizes pulling for and makes more new 5* charas and has no open world so needing to distribute f2p pulls thru other means is a must etc etc etc. but theres a point where that just falls flat.

and while i do agree the genshin community can strike up shitstorms that are more about outrage than anything substantial like. first anniversary with google classroom and all of that being a good example. but having Been there. while it was taken too far at points the reality of that saga always was about the cumulative community feeling hitting its breaking point. it was a lot of things accumulating and piling up in terms of frustration that led up to that 2.1 meltdown and honestly hoyo can only blame themselves. no need to relive that one too much my point just is that while for me (at least for now) im not feeling any of that like. deep hollow disappointment at realizing genshin will never truly beat (and arguably, i dont rly think its ever wanted to) the allegation of. the hsr team just being allowed much more freedom in terms of fostering goodwill w the community and stuff. i can still genuinely understand if this ratio thing for hsr ends up becoming another final straw for that feeling to rise up again for some genshin players. bc just like 2.1 this too is a cumulative thing. hsr is getting new gamemodes. constant massive QoL. freebies and limited-time events with permanent story and gameplay content. responding to and addressing tons of player complaints. genshin is... attempting some QoL? a tiny bit? like its just a whole situation.

and that feeling genuinely sucks. obviously dont attack random people like the cast or minor devs with no executive power or google classroom. or fuel this whole hsr vs genshin tribalism thats apparently athing. thats so stupid. fuck off. if i see another assassination attempt on dawei bc of hsr getting free fucking ratio i dont even know what to say 💀

but still its easy to be all "wow entitled terminally online gacha players" and yeah that can be true but i also dont like reducing all of that long term resentment from unaddressed complaints and issues and tiny disappointments accumulating over time for people who very much love genshin and want to be able to love it even more. to just like. haha greedy people want freebies. ofc hoyo doesnt owe us shit its a company and even with hsr this generosity shouldnt be turned into some parasocial "oh theyre on our side" thing. its just two games that want to make money. genshin and hsr both.

but it still sucks that theres such a discrepancy. and as long as ur not being toxic about how and when u express it i think that feeling is completely fair and valid. its not nice being passionate about a game and its potential while investing time and possibly money into it and still getting treated like shit year after year just bc genshin is still too successful to be forced into caring about us peasants lmao. venting and memeing and even sending appropriate complaints to hoyo are all fair game to me lmao. go wild

tho i will have to say that i do think the ultimate antidote to that feeling of disapppointment in particular imo still consists of touching grass like. its not good to be overtly attached to this stuff on an emotional level. i get why people would end up in that position esp given how genshin literally started during quarantine and was a massive source of comfort and joy in incredibly tough times for so many (myself included). but still. hoyo is simply not ur friend and ultimately its still just a couple of gacha games. finding other sources of happiness and comfort is v important. but being affected by this baseline isnt an individual failure or something wildly unreasonable at all.

for me im not too emotionally affected or anything but i cant deny this thing does have me thinking a good bit. as someone who naturally gravitates more towards genshins open world and its style of worldbuilding and aesthetic and its characters so even if i do enjoy hsr overall its just. a bit of a bitter taste u get in the mouth from all of this.

im not interested in discoursing on this or even like. protesting against hoyo particularly bc its clear that the genshin team has chosen its stance on the matter and i doubt another incident will really sway them much. the push will need to come from elsewhere if things are to ever change. im happy to get these freebies in hsr and i hope the game continues evolving and getting better bc it sure does have its flaws too. and the same for genshin. in a way a lot of the good in hsr is due to the hindsight 20/20 from genshins pitfalls and problems too (as well as arguably the literal sink or swim hsr faced from the poor reception to aspects of 1.0-1.3). unfortunately i doubt genshin would have the guts or be given the resources to retroactively address and fix those very same things in their own game. which is a shame.

anyway i dont have any particular point im going for with this i suppose i just wanted to get these silly thoughts off my chest. L + ratio to W + ratio was hilariously iconic and im still incredibly hype for all these things hsr has given us to look forward to even if the discrepancy with genshin does cast a shadow over this a bit. and i still love genshin and will keep playing it and keep hoping it can improve over time and get better. ultimately i care less about free ayaka at AR 42 becoming reality because "ratio hsr!!!1!1" than the devs genuinely investing the time and effort needed to make this game all the things it has the potential to be going forward. but im not holding my breath.

so yeah. if u stuck all the way with this whole situation u get a sticker. many thoughts in the head and you people following me are stuck with them im afraid JKJKDWJKWDJKDW

hmm ok one of the things i wanted to mention was that earlier i almost thought Quark couldve been some kinda abondoned Left clone but they have different eye colors so thats crossed off the list. that Does make it kinda weird that Quark mentions freeing his soul during that one scene, but i guess we're supposed to assume he just picked it up from somewhere? like he heard abt it on earth at some point? i doubt Dio wouldve said anything to him abt it in the pod, and even then i dont think hed quote him during That if he did. but how well known were the Myrmidons for him to hear that?? or was it from Junpei/what Junpei was talking abt when he said he was involved during the mars expiriment thing??? idk i just thought that was a weird connection that they didnt directly address.. i think. i couldve missed smth there

however i also wanna say that i am at least glad they touched on the different views of people being stuck in the "worse" timeline? Junpei being glad to have Quark despite everything while Clover and Alice have to deal with leaving behind half a century along with their friends and family. even tho they just kinda went jk lol at that part immediately afterwards???????? but whatever i guess

the characters in general were pretty fun tbh? not quite as real-feeling as 999 but still enough to be enjoyable. it was nice seeing Junpei reference a bunch of stuff from 999 and retain some pieces of himself all these years later, especially when he quoted Light ("fake, a replica, not the real thing...") its horrifying to think abt all hes been thru at this point tho ,,, Clover seemed a lot more outgoing than before but a year can change u so i cant say much abt that, it was cool to see her again regardless. Alice is an interesting one and i liked her even if she was kind of frustrating to go against in the AB games lmao. Luna has lowkey been one of my favorites thru the whole thing but i had a hard time fully trusting her for so long bc of how suspiciously innocent she was lol which wasnt entirely baseless either but yknow. Dio is admittedly funny and ridiculously good at acting like hes a normal person its actually scary. also whered he hide the bombs before planting them bc they didnt seem That small. anyway uhh Quark is a funny little guy and its nice that he straight up doesnt die (usually?? i cant remember if theres a route where he does. other than the bombs) and!!! i actually really enjoyed Kyle. no idea why. wish he didnt abandon me so many times but it fuckin be like that i guess. accidental revenge for absent fatherism. and.. Sigma. when u said u do not like him i think im with u now. not necessarily strong feelings but. yeah. but PHI.. god i wish they actually said where she came from shes just HERE and they never fuckin elaborated man who is she. she is so cool tho i love when she goes on her tangents abt stuff <3

AL OF THAT SAID u were very right when u said the puzzles in this game are fun. even tho i had to check a guide a few times bc i was genuinely clueless for some of em (u have no idea how stumped i got in the darts part of the white room puzzle. i should never do mental math this late i cant live that one down) theyre mostly really good and i did enjoy those sections especially

Hi, it's the uni anon here! I also like discussing general khr stuff too and im so glad to see an active tumblr to this day! I've been following it since i was a kid and sometimes it leaves me to hop on different fandoms but i always periodically get hit with khr loving hours

General khr stuff i love to point out:

1. Ryohei was a punk who loved fighting so much that kyoko got hurt in the past bc of it. Boxing was violence in a controlled environment. Im sure hes really smitten with the sportsmanship, but i just love that hes also a fighting freak on par with hibari.

2. It didnt really hit me until his fight in the shimon arc for me to really get tyl!lambo's characterization. But the fact that he just wants to enjoy and party and is also a crybaby coward but gathers the resolve to fight from the people who surrounded him in his childhood??? Love that so much. Hes obnoxious in a 15-year old way for the same 5-year old traits.

3. Gokudera's introduction episode/chapter was a total subversion of the typical shonen rival character. If yamamoto was the shonen mc, hed definitely be the typical shonen rival. But no, hes the enthusiatic bodyguard friend of the shonen mc who finds out hes a shonen mc and went NOPE.

4. Gokudera gripes at yamamoto not taking things seriously bc he keeps talking about the mafia as a game, but for someone who thought the mafia as a game, yamamoto actually takes the "game" so damn seriously.

Im sure theres more, but thats all i can think of to blurt out for now.

KHR is kind of like that, it may go dormant as an interest for a while, but it always seems to rear its head again eventually :? something about it is just really appealing if you're into action manga.

To address the points you've brought up, Ryohei is a fascinating character who really got piss poor treatment. With an ever-expanding cast and a revolving door of villains, sometimes characters get downsized to fit the story or change focus to another point/arc. Ryohei is just like, a guy who likes to fight. Single mindedly, he likes fighting, being Good Pals with people, and provoking Hibari. I appreciate characters who are bull headed about their passions, and Ryohei is no different. I wish Kyoko and Ryohei's sibling dynamic was explored more, as the constant contention between Ryohei's fighting habits gets a little dull sometime within 400 chapters. Lambo has a really interesting position as a primarily comic relief character, in that he's got schrodinger's perfect characterization of childish-ness: he is both an incredibly accurate depiction of what a childish character FEELS like, and also exaggerated to the point of comedy. Amano took that one bratty trait and ran to the moon and back with it. I really enjoyed the subtle differences between 5 year old Lambo, 15 year old Lambo, and 25 year old Lambo. He was handled pretty well in that respect, all things considered! Right!!!!! You know I don't see many people bring that up at all, now that I think about it. Gokudera is really refreshing in that respect, and I think that may play a major role in what I enjoy about his character!!! I do wish we got to see that friendship develop a little more, though!!! Yams is so funny because he's just like. ok with killing. he treats it kinda like baseball, as long as everyone else plays by the book he'll do the same, but as soon as that understanding is broken all bets are off. Sly Cooper

I honestly??? can't think of anything thats my least favorite??? like probably how cocky he is??? but that's something he gets over throughout the series as he learns to rely on his friends more. and like some of the cockiness he has is well earned he's good at what he does lol so i can't really hate him for that.

my favorite thing about him is so hard to decide but honestly i really like how he's such a hopeless romantic. its not really addressed in game or anything but you can see with how he treats carmelita throughout the game that he has true romantic heart, even if he may denies it. (i bet he's a total sucker for romance movies and stuff. a total sap.)

a fanon pet peeve of mine would probably how the fandom likes to portray him as a ladies man? like i said before he is a hopeless romantic but i don't think he's the type for 'one night stands' or little flings. and there have been examples of most of the woman shown in the game falling for him but i mean who wouldn't tbh?? in my opinion he may like the attention he gets from ladies (or men) but he truly has his heart set on one person at the end of the day and prefers to not screw around with things like romantic relationships. he's very loyal in that regard i think. the only time i could see him having a fling or something is if it's a guarantee that he will never seen them again. not because he's an ass but because he takes romance as something very serious and not to screw around with if any of that makes sense???

Penelope

my least favorite thing would be how quick she is to switch to sly after finding out what Bentley really looks like etc.? tho thats not something i can really blame her for either considering they both lied about themselves and that she does get to know bentley and realizes she really does like him in the end, despite everything. its very understandable for her to react that way and i don't blame her or hate her for it, ive just always been a person to never judge based on appearances. like if i found out someone is not what they say they are (if its not too drastic) i'm willing to be like 'hey that sucks you felt the need to lie but i'm willing to look past it' ya know? i very much base my feelings on personality and who that person is before appearance. thats just how i am lol.

my favorite thing is her nerdiness and how that nerdiness and intelligence didn't stop her from learning boxing lol. shes a total geek and i love it. also i could really relate to her as a kid so. in regards to being a new female character in the sly series she is quite refreshing compared to neyla or carmelita so i like that about her as well.

a fanon pet peeve of mine would be idk how she's portrayed as shy in some cases??? i just hate nerdy characters like her being potrayed as shy and quiet when its actually not shown to be the case at all?? just because someone is intelligent doesn't mean they are shy or anything!

Murray

my least favorite thing about murray... hmmm... thats a tough one lol. i guess how he is portrayed as the dumb one?? like yes he isn't bentley but that doesn't mean he isn't intelligent in regards to other areas? like in terms of spiritual and emotional intelligence he would be the most intelligent compared to sly or bentley.

my favorite thing would be how he isn't just a the strong one. like i just said, by the time of sly 3, he is the most emotionally intelligent of the group. and how his strength isn't just physical strength necessarily. as the beginning of sly 3 demonstrates he was kinda like the glue that truly held the gang together. they need him for that. he can keep them in line and not to mention they are his family. he starts as just the getaway driver and becomes someone who is truly essential to the gang (bentley as well)

a fanon pet peeve of mine would be idk its not really a fanon thing but i hate the way sly 4 accentuates how he's fat and loves to eat. like yeah he's big and stuff and enjoys food and is quite the big eater but that doesnt mean you have the right to make fatphobic jokes about him every five seconds. which is something that only appears in sly 4 mind you. in the previous games, his large frame is mentioned but he is never once ashamed or teased about it from his friends. murray himself even acknowledges that he's 'bigger' than sly and bentley but that thats also what makes him a valuable member of the team. and if pressed im sure sly and bentley would agree. sly 4 my beloathed

Princess Peach

my least favorite thing about princess peach would be how she can be rather selfish and stubborn. but those are faults that make her who she is and she's only really selfish in very specific cases, otherwise shes a very generous ruler.

my favorite thing about her would be idk everything. ok but just for some examples i actually quite like how stubborn she is?? and how she is rather competitive and athletic?? she is a great character with a great, interesting personality, if you care to look. it also depends on the game she is in because, in the mario series, most of the games don't really have room for personality or character devlopment. but for the ones that do her character is quite enjoyable and endearing i think.

my fanon pet peeve would be how people assume she's 'weak' or 'useless' and a 'damsel in distress'. like yeah that is the role she plays for the majority of the games but that doesn't mean she's weak willed or useless. like i said before, its quite the contrary if you know where to look. she is very strong willed and open minded and willing to help in any way she can. just. don't judge a character just for their role before getting to know them or something. >:(

At the beginning I really thought Alistair was best on the throne but honestly I was like, 16 and now that I'm way older I can see that Anora is miles the better choice. It's actually kinda shocking how clear it is now that she's better.its kinda like the harrowmont aeducan thing. How much of that do you think was on purpose?

hiii thats super valid because the game sort of pushes him. i did play dao a little late (like right before dai came out) so it immediately struck me how hard they were trying to make you dislike her to favour alistair 😔. i could honestly write whole essays about the landsmeet because it was so poorly done but its interesting how it shows dao’s writing flaws irt putting sexism in the game to be Realistic or whatever when it makes no sense in-universe

and it’s SO blatant with anora. because like. if thedas was genuinely as gender neutral as it’s supposed to be there would be zero question about who belongs in the throne because.... she’s already there? she’s popular? and her replacement is literally a grey warden who technically can’t inherit AND with no ruling experience? the only major issue with her is that she’s possibly infertile but SO IS ALISTAIR. honestly his claim only really makes sense in a patriarchy that favours the father’s bloodline which thedas is Supposed not to be

the only reason it would be taken seriously at all imo is because of arl eamon, and most people dont even realize eamon is shady as hell because it’s all hidden in banters and codexes. he’s been trying to get rid of anora for YEARS, has orlesian ties, and disclosed alistair’s parentage when ferelden was at risk of civil war for no good reason. if you pay attention, him pushing alistair’s claim honestly comes off as him wanting a king who will cater to his interests.

so in short yeah i think a lot of it wasn’t on purpose. the writers' own out-of-universe misogyny really really muddied the fact that anora is the objectively better option in-universe. i think anora was portrayed as more competent 100% on purpose as her major ‘advantage’, but the alistair bias in-game is absolutely the writers’ sexism coming through. they have everyone call her a backstabbing bitch and other awful stuff when her behaviour was pretty reasonable in-universe, they also never address arl eamon’s shady behaviour, or that alistair breaking grey warden rules could have consequences. all her flaws are highlighted and all of his are handwaved and it drives me insane because the harrowmont/bhelen choice never got that kind of bias and it’s a LOT greyer than this one.

(i don't know why i'm telling you this but for boy names i love Liam🥰 and if i had twin boys i think i would do Liam and Peter though i am not married to the name Peter.... anywho)

i used to be one of the people who‘d just do motherlode motherlode motherlode and just... what did i do? Why did i do that??? But not anymore lol. Well I'm back. Not reaving or anything, but been dealitg with shit.

Got hazed at the drag bar. Probably not meaning to ha e, but thats what it was. So I blew up at them on their fb page the next day and quit, basically. And I know one of them has access to my tumblr. I'm going to address them here just in case.

Anyways, I'd go in a lotg rant of all the wous and hardships of my daily life that hurt my job and wah wah but at the end of the day the only person that NEEDs to care about me is me.

My problem ot the bar was that I was still coming out and still dealing with really raw emotions based off of abuse I'm still experiencing. And actually now I've gotten an apology for stuff I didn't even know about, but has helped my life for the better.

And yeah I didn't say anything but motherfucker I owe you nothing stop making me feel like I have to tell you my life you fuckin bitch I don't want to get over it.

Been missing therapy appts, not on purpose. Bc of family or my partner, though now I think I've torn into everyone about how god damn important my appts are that if they intersect and for some reason my appt is their responsibility, tough shit.

The house is slowly becoming less of a hoarder hole. Slowly my mother is starting to accept me and kind of understand that transitioning isn't a little social patty cake game. Its me growing up because I got stunted emotionally, and it just so happens I already hated the vessel I'm in, it was just accentuated more and more for so long I probably am a bit fucked in the head now, but then really who isn't at that point.

But we're actually going to try to communicate. She walked up to me last night, honestly started to make me flip out because I'm expecting a certain subset of info, which also kinda showed her, hey, I'm defensive rn because I don't expect anythitg good fr stuff, and she's questioning that and I'm fucking glad.

I'm at a point transition wise where I've boiled more genders off too, now I'm just at 2. When I was a kid I experienced more like 10 or so, sometimes it feels like 40 or 50 though, but I think thats the DiD function of your brain at the time.

Side note child psychology and developmental psychology are mother fucking fascinating.

Then it boiled down to seven, then five, then last year it went from five to four, and as I've been able to socialize more, 2. Beth are nonbinary subsets that probably genderwise in a traditional sense ares't very describable, but I experience part of my life thru touch, so while it may not make sense to someone else, its literally just because describing things is dard for me.

In any case, at this point I'm putting money together to get my HRT. The meds are like 99% paid for, I just gotta get the copay. Better than paying 3k a few months a year! I'm gunna legally change my name, and depending on how burned I feel at the time, I kinda sorta decided I'd usurp my full name. But I won't explain why though, I don't owe that to anyone but me.

Only doing pesticide job rn, but honestly other than my income slowing down, things have gotten easier. I actually have time for my hobbies now. I can catually PLAY A ROUND OF TARKOV AND NOT GET IN TROUBLE FOR BEING LATE TO SOMETHING i DON'T WANNA DO. Its literally night and day that job.

Really I think the lesson is work at your own pace and fuck america. And I say that patriotically.
