A message from Bailey
I have made some Lanayru lore. Please check the tags before reading, and enjoy! (1000 years before the rp quests)
Rewards for a Selfless Being: When the Water Goddess Gained a New Domain
During a rare trip to the Surface, a young Lanayru finds out that her sacred element can also kill. After abusing her power and injuring herself to save a young boy’s life, she gains a new domain: generosity.
Word count: 2021 (way longer than i thought oopsies)
Lanayru was only two centuries old, her silky blonde hair cut off below the shoulders, unlike the long and flowy locks of her present style. Never before had she left the Gods’ Realm to descend to the Surface below…and she wanted to try so desperately. The people she was blessing with clean, fresh water, the people who prayed to her for miracles and were forever grateful when she delivered…
It was her dream to meet them. Or at least see their beautiful faces, knowing she had fulfilled her duties.
One morning, as she smoothed out her hair in the mirror and slipped the golden rings on her fingers, she made her decision. She would go to the teleportation circle, near her beloved healing spring, and visit the Surface.
“Stand in the middle of the circle.”
She obliged, stepping her feet into the glowing white chamber, and closed her eyes.
“Now, be very careful down there…and when you wish to return, summon your symbol.”
She nodded her head in agreement. All she had to do was create the four raindrops above her hand and she would be home.
Easy enough…
For a second she felt light as a feather, the ground leaving her feet, and she was floating…floating?…and then her feet landed on something soft but firm.
She slowly opened her eyes, and for the first time she saw the land of the people.
Wow…this is amazing.
Just the mere sight of it all was enough to take her breath away.
The slightly tall grass tickled her ankles, and she let out a giggle. The sky was clear blue, more so than up in her Realm, and there was so much…green. So much vibrant color, in the flowers, the structures…everything.
She scanned the area, searching for any people, and close by to her left was a large body of water. Before she could even think, she found herself walking toward that water…the element she had spent her long life protecting. Her eyes were fixed on the shimmering blue waves, going in and out…in and out…
A lake.
Then she noticed…rather strange objects…what is that thing? Several of them bobbed out in the water, white with triangular shaped tops. Leave the precious water alone! Someone had built a long wooden platform that extended far out into the lake, and people were jumping off it happily, their cheers ringing out into the air.
Upon reaching the hill by the lake, she stopped to catch her breath.
Children were playing in the crystal-clear water, from the shallow waves all the way to the deeper area, their delighted laughs and shouts warming Lanayru’s heart. I have done well here, she assured herself, the water is clear…the kids are so happy. Nothing satisfied the Water Goddess more than giving happiness to her people. And now, she could finally see it firsthand.
An absolute dream come true.
She wondered if interaction was a possibility…could the people even see her here? Or would they think she was a human, like any other? Should she hide as another identity to avoid mass hysteria?
She let out a deep breath. Standing and observing was enough for now. In a little while she would summon her four raindrops and go back home.
Ah, the sweet smell of bliss…
As if out of nowhere, someone screamed.
Lanayru’s heart skipped a beat.
“Guys, look over there!!”
“He can’t swim! HE CAN'T SWIM!!”
“Is he…drowning??”
Drowning?
That certainly wasn’t a word she’d heard before.
A few of the people were pointing to a spot in the lake, isolated from where the other people were hanging out, and she turned her gaze to that area…
A pair of hands stuck out above the surface, thrashing and flailing.
Drowning.
People can die in water?
The others were moving toward the person, but their hands were sinking below the surface. It may have already been too late…
No.
Lanayru just couldn’t stand there and watch while someone lost their life to her beloved element.
“NO!!” she shouted, bolting toward the lake as fast as her dainty legs could take her. Your Healing Grace. It can fix this.
But she had only used it to heal herself. Never another being.
Several people dragged the poor man- or boy? out of the water slowly. His arms drooped limply even with the grip on each wrist, his eyes were closed…he was unmoving.
Before they finished maneuvering his whole body onto the murky sand, she was by his side. For a brief second, the other humans’ eyes met hers…and a young lady gasped.
“Is that…?”
“The Water Goddess??” another one added, her voice a high, surprised squeak. “That…that can’t be? One of the gods…right here??”
Lanayru tried her hardest to tune out the voices…she had a boy’s life to save.
Healing Grace, please emerge…let me use all your power.
She had never used all of it before. She didn’t even know if this would actually work…this power was limited for others, and in her Realm she never encountered anyone in need of healing, let alone a mortal. But she would do whatever it took, even if it was risking her own health, her own life…
Although Lanayru could never die. Not permanently, at least.
People were huddled around the boy now, checking for breathing, a pulse…any signs of life. Their shouts and pleas were frantic, and it all reduced to ringing in the Goddess’s ears as she held her hands out, glowing white with the precious healing magic.
Dropping to her knees, she shot her hands forward, all of the Healing Grace absorbing itself around the boy in a matching white glow, some of it entering through his nose, his mouth, even going straight through his chest.
Please work please work please work…
She had done everything she could now.
And the boy opened his eyes, gasping in a lungful of air as he coughed and spluttered, water gushing out of his mouth, and the others quickly crowded around him. It took a few more seconds for the Healing Grace to fully take effect…and the healthy pink color returned to his cheeks once more. He smiled softly, letting out a chuckle…it was almost as if the whole thing never happened.
Overjoyed shouts and relieved sighs rang through Lanayru’s ears, and she beamed happily.
It worked…
But a wave of fatigue overcame her, almost all at once.
Some of the people around the boy seemed to be thanking her, but she slowly took a few steps away. Each step was becoming harder to take as her shoulders sagged and her head lolled forwards…
No. She quickly snapped it back up, and the world spun around her.
He will be okay. Now summon your symbol.
As she sank to her knees, black dots creeping into the corners of her vision, she slowly held out her left hand, palm facing skyward.
Through her now fuzzy mind, it took the last remaining strength she could muster to swirl the magic around her hand, the four raindrops appearing in a cross shape. To her the drops were blurry and disoriented, merely swirling shapes and colors, but they were there nonetheless.
You did it.
With a sigh of relief, the Water Goddess let her eyes slip closed, her hand falling limp by her side.
The sea of emptiness slowly began to recede, marking Lanayru’s return to awareness. Her body felt weightless, as if she was floating through the sky.
Ever so slightly, she stirred, noticing the soft material underneath her. She could recognize the sensation anywhere...My bed.
She had made it home.
“Your Grace?” a soft, muffled voice called out. “Are you with me?”
Lanayru cracked one eye open, to see a blurry figure standing in front of her, before letting it droop closed again. She shifted, stretching out her arms with a satisfied hum…which came out as more of a mumble.
“Thank the Goddesses.” The voice- a Dweller- let out a sigh. “I mean, um…that includes you. If you weren’t immortal, you could have died.”
Really?
“That was an incredibly brave thing you did out there. I am delighted to tell you…the boy has been doing just fine; you saved his life.”
Finally, she could find the strength to open her eyes. When she did so, the Dweller’s short and slender form was much clearer.
“H-hi,” she muttered, giving him a weak smile.
“Hello,” he replied. “Welcome back, Your Grace.”
“How…how long?”
“You were asleep for…a long time.” The Dweller paused. “…Two months.”
Two months??
Her arms were weak and tired, but still she put her elbows in front of her body and hoisted herself up to sitting. As her messy golden locks swept around her pale face, she frowned slightly. Her hair was…different. Perhaps a bit longer.
“Oh yeah.” The Dweller continued with a chuckle. “Your hair grew out a little.”
“Well…that makes sense, I guess.”
Lanayru let out a long yawn, briefly covering her mouth with her hand. Her fingernails, too, were badly overgrown and in need of a trim, the baby blue polish mostly chipped off.
“We have been waiting so long…Two months ago, you appeared in the teleportation circle frail and unconscious, we knew you weren’t dead, but you really gave us a fright there.”
“I…I’m sorry- I didn’t mean…”
“Don’t be. We figured it out anyway…using all of your healing powers at once like that is incredibly draining. That’s not what they’re made for. And you weren’t made to spend time down there. But we mustn’t scold you, for you were a true hero that day.”
Her cheeks flushed pink, and she found herself unable to look the kind Dweller in the eye.
“It was the least I could do,” she replied, voice almost a whisper.
For a second she wondered if her actions had indeed killed her. Of course that didn’t matter…she would have come back instantly. It was how she was made. The world couldn't afford to lose their precious Water Goddess.
“Now that you’re back with us, we have a lot of work to do.” The Dweller gave her a soft smile, and she lifted her gaze to meet his, now feeling comfortable enough to do so. “First, though, I must tell you something very important.”
She hesitated, fidgeting nervously with her dress. “What…is it?”
“Your Grace, in the mere two centuries of your existence you have displayed incredible selflessness…you never want to see a mortal suffer, you spend so much time making sure their water is beautiful…and now what you just did. I am proud to inform you that you have gained another domain.”
What?? Her heart raced in her chest, as she stared with wide eyes at the Dweller. Another domain?
“I have…? Really?”
“Indeed. You are now Lanayru, the Goddess of Water and Generosity.”
At first she couldn’t find words…she was speechless. Why am I the one being rewarded, when others need help? None of this made any sense…
“Wow, I…I can’t believe it,” she gushed. “For me? I don’t need any reward-“
“Your Grace, it has been given to you already. Out of all the Gods, you have proven yourself the most worthy for this. Once a domain has been handed to you, there’s no giving it back.”
So I should be proud of this, then.
If it could be used to help others further…she would make the most of this new gift.
“Well, I am honored.” She grinned at the Dweller, eyes gaining their sparkle once more. “I will do my best to fulfill it.”
And so she did.
Throughout the next millennium, she strengthened her generosity domain each day like a small child. It may be a secondary one, but it is just as important to her as her water domain, and she vows to keep her promises forever.
After all this time, some of her memories have faded, blurring together in the back of her mind, but she still recalls that moment clear as day. She always will.
While she gives the mortals water to keep them alive, she also protects them from the dangers of it.

I love the character I’ve made for baldurs gate 3 SO. MUCH!
I feel like there is so much going on with them visually but I don’t even care they’re amazing
I also love the guardian I made a lot too - definitely put way less time into making her but I was so tired of overthinking in character creation haha
#share the beans#I started making my characters and playing the game in late august- I just haven’t said anything about it here yet haha#I renamed my Tav in bg3 to be Ambi after Queen Ambi from oracle of ages because I liked how Ambi sounds and looks and wanted a loz name#I alsmost named them Orielle instead (the name of a character in skyward sword) but ultimately decided on Ambi#and there is a lot going on visually with them in partially because of all the colors lol#two different colored eyes where each color reminds me of the breath of the wild shrines#one is a vibrant blue and the other is a vibrant orange like when you complete vs find the shrines in botw#then I have a small face tattoo that the randomizer put on but it grew on me so I kept it#the tattoo is a darker green#and then eye makeup and a few stripes of hair that are also a darker green#so I’ve got some darker green - some vibrant blue - some vibrant orange - and the name Ambi all as fun legend of zelda tidbits#oh yeah my character is a teifling!#with a blue or navy blue or whatever shade that is skin tone and vitiligo pigmentation - the tips of their horns have some blue as well#so yeah like I said there’s a lot going on visually with my character but I love them so much!#I probably should have put all of this in the main post not the tags haha#anyways haha#I get so happy whenever I look at Ambi and see all the little legend of zelda references in them I made!#baldurs gate 3#bg3#bg3 character#AMBI I LOVE YOU SO MUCH <3#unfortunately I was silly and didn’t take screenshots of Ambi in character creation - I took a few pictures using my phone of them at least

Play Stupid Games (NSFW) - Link x Reader
Link and Groose get into a friendly competition (in NoNutNovember fashion), and you have been tasked to be Link's "Dick Chaperone".
Tumblr media
Fandom: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Pairing: Link x fem!Reader Raiting: Explicit Contains: unresolved sexual tension, friends-with-benefits type of situationship, you and Link are established fuck-buddies Word count: ~1,5k Read on Ao3 A/N: Reader inserts are my guilty pleasure and I wanted to try writing one myself! I rarely write anything in English (it's not my first language), so I'm a bit shy to post this – but too embarrassed to post it in my own language, so here we are :´) Please note that all characters in my writing are adults (we're not canon compliant in this house). For reference, I imagine Link and the Reader to be in their early/mid twenties in this one.
PLAY STUPID GAMES
It all started nine days ago with Groose being his usual snarky self, making his usual snarky remarks, and Link finally snapping and trying to knock Groose’s teeth out.
“Oh you’re such a pissbaby,” Groose mocked while Link, being held back by Cawlin and Strich, was flailing his fists with a furious expression and a hot-red face.
“Why so sensitive today?” Groose laughed. “Didn’t have enough time to give your tiny nub a rub? Is that it?”
From there, the argument somehow led into Link’s masturbation habits, and how Groose was “so much more of a man” because “he could hold a nut for weeks”, unlike “pissbaby-Link” who “can’t stop fidgeting with his cock for even one day”. And Link, who was so riled-up he couldn’t think straight anymore, didn’t say no when Groose suggested a “friendly competition” between the two of them.
Now it is nine days later, and you’re lying on a mattress on Link’s bedroom floor and listening to him toss and turn under his blanket, because somehow it is now your duty to inform Groose if Link busts a nut before he does. Groose has put a lot of faith in you, considering how little you care about Groose and how often Link and you like to mess around.
Link’s bed frame creaks in a steady, quiet rhythm. You listen to it only for a few moments before you huff, annoyed.
“Stop humping,” you snap. It’s already past midnight and you’re tired of this stupid game. It was exciting and even arousing the first few nights, trying to keep Link from touching himself; teasing him and making him so horny he had trouble standing straight. But not anymore. Not after nine poorly slept nights.
The creaking stops and Link’s bedclothes rustle when he turns to lie on his back.
“I feel hot,” he says.
“Drink some water.”
“The water’s warm.”
“Then get up and go get cold water,” you snap again. His bed frame keeps creaking when he sits up.
“I can’t,” Link says, “I have a tent up.”
And whose problem is that? you want to ask but hold your tongue. You turn around to give him an annoyed look instead. Link’s hair is a mess and even in the dim moonlight you can see his cheeks are burning red. He doesn’t wear a teasing smirk like on all the nights before; he fidgets with the hem of his nightshirt and looks uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable.
“You’re being an idiot,” you huff. “Just go masturbate.”
“You’ll tell Groose.”
“So what? Groose is a dick and this ‘competition’ is dumb.”
“He won’t shut up about it if I lose!”
You groan. “You two are such idiots…”
“You could just… not tell him,” Link says, lowering his voice. The corner of his mouth is slowly rising. “Help me out a bit. I’ll make it worth your time. Please?”
And there it is. The smirk.
Your face flushes, not because you feel flustered but because Link thinks you would entertain this stupid game they’re playing any further than you already have. You give him a stern look and turn your back on him. The air is still for a while, and then you hear Link stand up. He paces around a few times before walking up to the window and opening it. The hinges screech. Loudly. Everything in Link’s room seems to make an awful lot of noise after midnight.
And then it suddenly gets quiet again. Suspiciously quiet. You stretch your neck and take a peak at Link. He’s leaning against the windowsill, legs apart, and slightly rocking back and forth. You’re about to tell him to stop humping again, but pause to think before you open your mouth. Why do you care if Link wins the competition or not? Why should it concern you if Link cannot keep his hands out of his pants?
At this point, do you even want Link to succeed in this stupid game any longer?
Your face flushes again. You’ve been an idiot. You’ve been such an idiot. If you wanted Link to quit the game, you should have just done something about it.
You push the blanket away and get up. Link is so absorbed in his rocking that he doesn’t even realize you've walked up to him until you press yourself against his back and sneak your hand between his legs. His hips buck when you gently grab his crotch. The cloth of his night pants is thin and leaves little to no room for imagination. You stroke him with your fingertips, your touch light as a feather, and only take a pause to feel the wet spot at the tip of his cock. Link whines your name and slaps your fingers, but he doesn’t push your hand away.
“Stop. I’m too worked-up already,” Link groans, but when you try to move your hand away, he grabs your wrist and presses your palm back against his erection.
“You’re giving me mixed signals,” you say.
“I am not,” Link insists. He slowly lets go of your wrist and braces himself back on the windowsill. You keep your hand in place, but stay still even when Link thrusts impatiently against your palm.
You’re already starting to question your decision to end the game for him. Knowing Link, he would only ask for another chance to beat Groose if he were to lose. And you don’t think you can handle another round of this.
Link thrusts his hips again. You do nothing. His cock twitches, and he lets out a frustrated groan.
“So you don’t mind losing to Groose?” you question – even though you already know the answer.
Link half-laughs, half-groans. “I’m not going to lose,” he says, “I’m not going to shoot a load.” He sounds way too confident for someone who’s been moaning about being desperate to “shoot a load” since night one. You give him a light squeeze, just to see how serious he’s being, and his knees immediately buckle. You’re certain he has no control over it.
“I know you well enough to know that you’re not going to be able to hold it,” you say.
“Oh c’mon!” he moans and pushes against your palm so hard your hand hits the wall. It gets wedged between the bricks and his cock, both rock hard. The wet spot on his crotch is very obvious now.
“I will tell Groose,” you warn him.
“Please don’t.”
“What even is the point in all of this? What are you trying to prove? That somehow you’re more of a man by keeping yourself uncomfortably horny all the time? How does that even make any sense!”
Link doesn’t answer. He wiggles his hips to find a comfortable spot in your palm to gently rub against.
“Link,” you warn again. You try to pull your hand away but it won’t budge.
“I’m not trying to prove anything,” he mumbles, his mind clearly more occupied by the satisfaction of hand humping than whatever you’re trying to scold him about. “Can you squeeze a bit more?”
“No,” you huff and let your fingers relax.
“Just squeeze it.”
“No, Link.”
“Oh come on!” he whines. “It’s been two weeks.”
“Nine days,” you correct.
“I need this so bad!”
“You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes.” You finally force your hand away from between him and the wall to give some weight to your words. Link turns around to face you faster than you are able to take a step back. He tightly grabs your wrists.
“Work with me here,” he pleads. “Just a quick handjob. It isn’t that big of a deal. I’m sure Groose is beating it every night anyway, he just says he doesn’t.”
“How would you know?”
“I wouldn’t! No one would, that’s the thing! For some reason I need a dick chaperone while he is allowed to sleep alone and jerk off as much as he wants without anyone finding out.”
“Well,” you say, smirking, “I could fuck Groose. Then we would know for sure.”
You don’t think you’ve ever seen Link as appalled as he is now.
“I’m kidding, I’m kidding,” you’re quick to add, “I wouldn’t touch him with a long stick and you know that.”
“You’re an ass,” Link huffs and lets go of your arms.
“But actually,” you say, “that wouldn’t be so bad of an idea…”
“Fucking Groose?!”
“No, you idiot! Ask someone else to fuck him!” You give his crotch a scolding squeeze, but it only makes Link's knees buckle once more. His surprised laugh is out of breath. He leans forward and pulls you in a little closer.
“Or you could just give me a quickie right now,” he murmurs in your ear, his words almost nothing but a warm breath on your skin. “I’m good at keeping secrets.”
You think back at how your entire friend circle mysteriously found about the first time you and Link fucked, just a day later, and you shake your head. Keeping secrets definitely is not his strong suit.
“I’m not going to help you lose,” you say. “You would just want to have another go at it if – and when – Groose hears about it.”
Link lets out a miserable groan. “This suuucks. You suck. Hard.”
“Tonight?” You cock your eyebrow. “No. But after I find someone to fuck Groose…?” You lean into his ear, “I can suck as hard as you’d like me to.”
Link’s breath catches in his throat. “Is that a promise?” he barely manages to whisper.
You kiss his cheek. “It’s a prize.”

5 LoZ Details You Might Have Missed in the LU
You know… I’ve seen a couple posts about Zelda lore recently and it got me thinking… it’s fun to write head canons and explore theories and stuff (I definitely indulge in the theory side of the fandom quite a bit) but I also really want to show my appreciation for canon and how well Jojo incorporates it into the LU.
Jojo really understands the source material. There’s obviously more references than just these five, but these are a few that I think are really cool. Also... I've been wanting to make something like this for awhile… just been lazy.
1. Time uses a mix of OoT's spin attack and TP's jump strike to protect Twi.
When wolfie goes down, Time is pissed. He demolishes a horde of monsters like it's nothing by combining two iconic zelda moves. The jump strike in particular is cool because it's one of the Hero Shade's Hidden Skills— moves he describes as "forgotten ways that do not leave our bloodline."
Love little details like this. Twi doesn't use magic, so it seems the shade actually adapted his techniques when teaching them to fit Twi's fighting style better and I kinda love that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Sky's mannerisms
From friendly jabs at others hair, to talking with his hands, to how he holds adorable creatures that want to maul his face off, Jojo nailed Sky's character.
Sky's handling of tiny creatures in particular is quite funny to me, because we went from Twilight-Princess-Snow-White-Link-Animal-Whisperer-Extraordinaire to Skyward Sword Link holding the little gremlins as far away from himself as possible.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Time's pose mirrors his statue from the Wind Waker
Within Hyrule Castle in the Wind Waker there's a large stone statue that is meant to be a monument to the Hero of Time. Wind grew up hearing the legends of the hero and it's part of the reason he's so in awe of Time.
Seeing him mirror the pose, it's no wonder why immediately after he began questioning Time about his original adventure.
Tumblr media
4. Hyrule's magic
Taking a 35 year old game and trying to transfer details over isn't exactly easy, but the way Jojo worked around some of this is pretty cool. For Hyrule's magic Jojo modeled it after the Champion's abilities from BotW (which Nintendo modeled after the spells in zelda 2, so full circle!).
Healing magic in past games was usually pink, but Mipha's magic emanated blue from her hands and so Hyrule's magic followed suit. Urbosa summons lighting with a snap of the fingers, and so does Hyrule. I imagine the jump spell is meant to be Revali's Gale (which Jojo did great job of transferring an 8-bit model over for), and if Hyrule ever performs his shield/reflect spell, I'd bet you anything he'd achieve it by either clenching his fists and holding them out or pounding his fists together like Daruk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Two Master Swords?!
Interesting how Legend hasn't said anything about this... because he has to know, right? (gonna be delving a tiny bit into theory territory here)
Unless you've played his games, you probably wouldn't be able to tell that the sword on his back is the Master Sword. But it's an... upgraded(?) version of it. Well I suppose within LU context it's more like a patch job. ALttP was the debut of the Master Sword but it's iconic design didn't come around and stick until OoT.
The small hints that Jojo has given us that the Master Sword wasn't in "perfect condition" for Legend is super interesting! Looking at the way Legend found the sword compared to Twi, it appears like much of the blade had to be redone. The cross-guard is missing its little spike, and the grip has already been covered by what appears to be cloth or leather. The rain-guard (the part that connects the blade to the hilt) seems to also be missing a piece.
Legends sword is now called the Tempered Sword, but there's still hints as to what it was. The cross-guard had to be replaced but it's kept its blue hilt. The pommel is the same and of course the sword still bears the mark of the Triforce.
It also freaking glows when in the presence of the fully powered Master Sword!
Now why is this? My theory is because the previous hero died. The whole reason Legend and Hyrule exist is because there's a universe where Time fails to beat Ganon and dies.
I want to really delve into this deeper in a future theory so... shameless self promo. Stick around, check out my other LU theories in the meantime!
And of course let me know your thoughts and favorite zelda references! I'd love to hear them! <3
EDIT: Here's that Legend's sword theory!

I love your ganon design in your loz ballet!! What all games is he based on? Are there any specific small details you took from official designs?
Aw thank you :D
My Ganon is very loosely inspired by his TotK design that I tweaked and simplified. He’s far from being my favorite Ganondorf but I like his design and thought it would be more practical for dancing than his older looks ^^
I also gave him a shoulder pauldron and vambraces as a nod to the voe armor from BotW/TotK, and his headpiece and blue palette are references to Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf. If you squint really hard the white pattern on his clothes is supposed to evoque his OoT armor (I wanted to use the same pattern at first but didn’t like the way it looked).
In case you’re also curious about Link and Zelda:
Zel is obviously based on her Twilight Princess incarnation (I also used the TP Sheik concept art). I removed her pauldrons and made her dress shorter for practicality, and had her jewelry sewn to the bust of her dress. She’s also wearing Triforce earrings as a reference to OoT Zelda!
Link is a bit of a mix between different games. His green and gold tunic is from Hyrule Warriors, I thought he wouldn’t stand out enough against my dark backgrounds in green only. His outfit also has touches of blue as in HW or Skyward Sword, and I’d say his face and hair are a mix between OoT and TP.
Here you go! I’ll answer your second ask later cause I think it deserves a few sketches!! :))

Ugh ok I wanna get this off my chest since it's been kinda heavy on my mind. If Aonuma is truly serious about no DLC and not making anymore content for the Wild era......then it makes Kass' disappearance a big fucking mystery. Like......why would they get rid of such a beloved NPC and gaslight us into thinking he never existed???? Lol you have NO idea how much I was searching for him. Like from the tops of the sky islands to the bottoms of the depths and he is just NO were to be found. I mean.....call me delulu or whatever but somewhere deep down I feel like they could still be bullshitting us and are might release DLC later on down the line. Besides, Nintendo is known for pulling this. Like for a few examples they said that there are no plans to relase the 3DS and sure enough, they do. Also, I remember Aonuma swearing up and down, left to right, New York to L.A that Skyward Sword wouldn't get ported to the Switch......and what the fuck happens? Skyward Sword gets ported to the Switch. So chances are DLC for TOTK could get the same treatment. That being said, if they are truly not going to make any more content then this just shows how much they don't care for continuity. Like FFS even Kass' own wife and kids don't really acknowledge him being gone let alone say his name. Penn only refers to him as the traveling bard and nothing more really. It's all so baffling to me! I mean, sure, I can understand if they got rid of a NPC that no one really cared about but this is Kass we're talking about here. Like hello???? Kass??? The one NPC we all loved in BOTW and was a major ass part of the Champions Ballad DLC in BOTW?!?!? Like come on yall! If they're really seriously about moving on from this era then dude, this goes to show that their story telling sucks here. Like I get it, we make cool shit with the Zonai devices and we can fuse a rock on a fucking stick. Now can please give us Kass along with explaining who the Zonai are exactly please??? Like damn dude I love TOTK but I cannot deny that TOTK gaslit us into thinking that BOTW never existed. Like no joke when I went to go back to the Shrine of Ressurection in TOTK for the first time I wanted to cry for real. Regardless of your opinion on no DLC and moving on from the Wild era, you have to at least admit that getting rid of Kass without any reasonable explanation is a huge ass mystery and is strange.

Note
ok so its been a couple weeks how do u feel about totk zelink now
(context: here is part 1 of the ask, and also SPOILERS AHEAD!)
For reference, I am currently done with the dragon tears and sages questlines, but still haven't finished the Kogha one. Whatever happens after this point, I have no idea, I'm chilling and doing side quests and leveling up.
There is a difficult line to draw between "this is what the game is saying" and "this is what I am projecting onto it", but to me, this game is about how well Link knows Zelda. BotW was about trying to remember her and why she mattered, and TotK is about trying to figure out her plans and what she was trying to tell you, as she is no longer able to guide you the way she did in BotW. It's listening to what people are saying about her and deciding if it sounds like Zelda or not. It is beautiful, and shows how close the two of them are now! BUT. It would have worked even better if we saw traces of their relationship in the plot. This is a three-pronged feature: 1) In the main quest everyone calls Link "Zelda's swordsman" or "Zelda's chosen protector" and are surprised when they see him without her, but the NPCs STILL don't mention him. The way I almost screamed when I stumbled upon that Lurelin NPC who is like "oh yeah the princess would disguise herself and go on vacation and hike up to the Lover's Pond at sunset!" and I was READY to hear about the person accompanying her. But there was no one. Zelda was alone as far as this guy was concerned. Like pls. 2) Link should have revealed his thoughts on the mystery of Zelda's identity for this theme to work, at least by being the one to figure out the Zelda prancing around Hyrule is an impostor. In fact, the way they didn't try to incorporate the tears quest into the main storyline is pretty disappointing - sorry but Link would NOT just ignore knowing where Zelda is. They should have hidden the last few memories until you're done with the fifth temple to make sure he doesn't look like an idiot. 3) We are STILL in the "Link doesn't react properly to Zelda" era. I'm not even talking about animation, I would have settled for a "Don't look so concerned, we will figure it out!" or a "I know you wish to bring her back right away, but leave the research to me and focus on beating Ganon first!" from Impa at the end of the tears quest. Sure, I choose to interpret his mad dash through Hyrule Castle to get to the sanctum Ganon fight as him completely forgetting any caution or reason in his desperation to get to her, but is that really it? EVERYONE ELSE cares so so much about Zelda as a person instead of a princess, they are constantly talking about her, so Link could have gotten some moments of that too. I'm glad the game stated that Link's duty ended with the Calamity and he CHOSE to stay with Zelda, so it's not that he only cares because he has to, but I wish it was shown outside that one line in a secret diary.
In conclusion, I still stand by my previous claim: Skyward Sword did this same dynamic better, so if I hadn't played that game I might have been elated over this one, but alas. I am still hoping for an earth-shattering emotional moment towards the end of the game that is gonna render all my complaints wrong, I haven't lost hope, but wow my imagination is working overtime to keep me happy

Location name references in Breath of the Wild
A year or so ago, I went through the location names in Breath of the Wild and tried to find out which names reference previous things from the series. The following is an overview of everything I was able to find back then. Will be taking this region by region and adding some observations where relevant. I also think most of these names are the same in Tears of the Kingdom but I know at least a few changed, so all of this may not apply to that game. Of note is also that I am leaving out the more obvious ones like Gerudo Desert, Lake Hylia, Death Mountain and the Lost Woods as these tend to be well-known. This focuses on the slightly more obscure ones.
I do want to point out one major one though: the Hebra Region (ヘブラ地方). This is actually a reference to A Link to the Past, A Link Between Worlds and Four Swords Adventures. In the former two, the main name of Death Mountain in the Japanese version is ヘブラ山 or Hebra Mountain. In Four Swords Adventures meanwhile, there is a minor region on Death Mountain called Hebra's Hill (ヘブラの丘). But let's get into the more minor references.
Gerudo Region
Tumblr media
Arbiter's Grounds = Arbiter's Grounds from Twilight Princess
Spectacle Rock = Spectacle Rock from The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II and A Link to the Past. Many similar locations, sometimes with similar names, have also appeared throughout the series.
Koukot Plateau = the names of Koume and Kotake, who together make up Twinrova, smashed together. They appear in Ocarina of Time, the Oracle games and the memories in Tears of the Kingdom.
Mount Nabooru = Nabooru from Ocarina of Time and Nabooru Town from Zelda II.
Yarna Valley = Yarna Desert from Link's Awakening.
East Gerudo Mesa = Gerudo Mesa from Twilight Princess.
Overall, this region has few references, mostly centered around deserts and the Gerudo people. The only odd one out is Spectacle Rock, which is usually located in the north of Hyrule on Death Mountain.
South of Lake Hylia
Tumblr media
Parache Plains (テトラ平原/Tetra Plains) = Tetra (テトラ/Tetra)
Faron region
Tumblr media
Lake Floria/Floria River/Floria Bridge/Floria Falls = Lake Floria from Skyward Sword.
Martha's Landing = Martha's Bay from Link's Awakening.
Tuft Mountain = King Tuft from Tri Force Heroes.
Toronbo Beach = Toronbo Shores from Link's Awakening.
Koholit Rock = Koholint Island from Link's Awakening.
There is no real theme here, aside from the locations on Eventide Island referencing Link's Awakening, as the whole island is a reference to that game. This region also contains the only reference in Breath of the Wild to Tri Force Heroes.
Great Plateau and southwestern Hyrule Field
Tumblr media
Digdogg Suspension Bridge = Digdogger from The Legend of Zelda and Oracle of Seasons.
Manhalna Bridge = Manhandla from The Legend of Zelda, Oracle of Seasons and Four Swords Adventures.
Gleeok Bridge = Gleeok from The Legend of Zelda, Oracle of Seasons, Phantom Hourglass and Tears of the Kingdom.
Aquame Bridge = Aquamentus from The Legend of Zelda and Oracle of Seasons.
Mount Daphnes = King Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule from The Wind Waker.
Lake Kolomo/Kolomo Garrison Ruins = the Lokomo from Spirit Tracks.
Forest of Time = Forest of Time from Oracle of Ages.
Temple of Time = Temple of Time from Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. The appearance of the structure most closely resembles the Ocarina of Time incarnation.
The bridges here are named after bosses from the first Zelda games, which is a running theme with the bridges around Hyrule Field. The other bridges are named after bosses from the other NES Zelda game, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, however.
Kakariko Village and Southeastern Hyrule Field
Tumblr media
Proxim Bridge (モヨリ橋/Moyori Bridge) = Aboda Village (モヨリ村/Moyori Village) from Spirit Tracks.
Owlan Bridge = Owlan from Skyward Sword.
Horwell Bridge = Horwell from Skyward Sword.
Eagus Bridge = Eagus from Skyward Sword.
Batrea Lake = Batreaux from Skyward Sword.
Nabi Lake = Navi from Ocarina of Time.
Mable Ridge = Maple from the Oracle games and A Link to the Past (GBA).
Sahasra Slope = Sahasrahla from A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds.
Telta Lake = Tatl from Majora's Mask.
Lake Siela = Ciela from Phantom Hourglass.
Pillars of Levia = Levias from Skyward Sword.
Bonooru's Stand = Bonooru from Ocarina of Time.
Pierre Plateau = Pierre from Ocarina of Time and (maybe) Majora's Mask.
The island in the southeast of Hyrule Field is centered around Skyward Sword references, while the area around Kakariko Village contains references to helpful characters from throughout the series: companions and friendly NPCs. If I had to hazard a guess, this is a general reference to the Sheikah's and Impa's supporting roles throughout the series, as Kakariko Village is their home in Breath of the Wild.
Tabantha and Hyrule Ridge
Tumblr media
Kolami Bridge = Komali from The Wind Waker.
Seres Scablands = Seres from A Link Between Worlds.
Breach of Demise = Demise from Skyward Sword.
This region contains relatively few references. This is of note because there is only one reference made to the Rito from The Wind Waker, which makes sense considering the Rito live in Tabantha in Breath of the Wild. However, there were a lot of named Rito that appeared in The Wind Waker and only one is referenced in Breath of the Wild. This is especially notable as there are a lot of references to individual Zoras, Koroks/Kokiri and Gorons in other regions of the map.
Northern Hyrule Field
Tumblr media
Carok Bridge = Carock from Zelda II.
Helmhead Bridge = Helmethead from Zelda II.
Rebonae Bridge = Rebonack from Zelda II.
Orsedd Bridge = Horsehead from Zelda II.
Mount Gustaf = King Gustaf from The Minish Cap.
Mabe Village Ruins/Mabe Prairie = Mabe Village from Link's Awakening.
Romani Plains = Romani and Romani Ranch from Majora's Mask.
Rauru Settlement Ruins/Rauru Hillside = Rauru from Ocarina of Time and Tears of the Kingdom and Rauru Town from Zelda II.
Crenell Hills/Crenel Peak = Mt. Crenel from The Minish Cap.
Thims Bridge = Smith from The Minish Cap.
Minshi Woods = Minish Woods from The Minish Cap.
Pico Pond = the Picori from The Minish Cap.
Trilby Plain = Trilby Highlands from The Minish Cap.
Here we see the rest of the bridges that reference the NES games. The eastern island and area further to the northeast in general contain many references to The Minish Cap (not pictured here is also the Trilby Valley that also references that game). Mount Gustaf to the west meanwhile is one of three mountains that references a king of Hyrule: we also have Mount Daphnes mentioned earlier and Mount Rhoam in Hyrule Ridge, which of course references king Rhoam from Breath of the Wild itself. Finally, the places named after Rauru could be named after the sage from Ocarina of Time, but it is also possible they reference the first king of Hyrule from Tears of the Kingdom. It depends on how much of Tears of the Kingdom's story was conceptualized when Breath of the Wild first released.
Lanayru Region
Tumblr media
Trilby Valley = Trilby Highlands from The Minish Cap.
Zauz Island = Zauz from Phantom Hourglass.
Linebeck Island = Linebeck from Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks.
Mercay Island = Mercay Island from Phantom Hourglass.
Molida Island = Molida Island from Phantom Hourglass.
Bannan Island = Bannan Island from Phantom Hourglass.
Goponga Island/Goponga Village RUins = Goponga Swamp from Link's Awakening.
Inogo Bridge = The Indigo-Go's from Majora's Mask.
Tabahl Woods = Tabahl Wasteland from Link's Awakening.
Zodobon Highlands = King Zora de Bon XIV from Ocarina of Time.
Oren Bridge = Oren from A Link Between Worlds.
Ralis Pond = Prince Ralis from Twilight Princess.
Luto's Crossing = Laruto from The Wind Waker.
Rutala River/Rutala Dam = Queen Rutela from Twilight Princess.
Ruto Mountain/Ruto Lake/Ruto Precipice = Princess Ruto from Ocarina of Time and Ruto Town from Zelda II.
Toto Lake = Toto from Majora's Mask.
Mikau Lake = Mikau from Majora's Mask.
Lulu Lake = Lulu from Majora's Mask.
Ja'Abu Ridge = Lord Jabu-Jabu from Ocarina of Time and Oracle of Ages.
Veiled Falls = Veil Falls from The Minish Cap.
Lanayru has a pretty clear division, with the western Wetlands mostly referencing Phantom Hourglass and the eastern Great Spring containing many references to Zoras and characters relating to the Zoras. We also see a few stray references to Link's Awakening and Veil Falls from The Minish Cap. This is notable because in that game, Veil Falls act as the source of Hyrule's water, which is also often the case for Zora's Domain whenever it appears in the series (and so too in Breath of the Wild).
Lanayru Bay
Tumblr media
Samasa Plain = Samasa Desert from Oracle of Seasons.
Brynna Plain = Labrynna from Oracle of Ages.
Horon Lagoon = Horon Village from Oracle of Seasons.
Talus Plateau (トロイワ高原/Toroiwa Plateau) = Talus Peaks (トロイワ山地/Toroiwa Mountains) from Oracle of Ages.
Lodrum Headland = Holodrum form Oracle of Seasons.
Tarm Point = Tarm Ruins from Oracle of Seasons.
Wintre Island = Woods of Winter from Oracle of Seasons.
Spool Bight = Spool Swamp from Oracle of Seasons.
Tal Tal Peak = Tal Tal Peaks from Link's Awakening.
The area around Lanayru Bay is a hotspot for references to the two Oracle games. The stray reference to Link's Awakening (DX) also fits this theme, with it being the other Zelda game for the Game Boy Color, as well as the other Link's Awakening references in Lanayru in general.
Great Hyrule Forest
Tumblr media
Upland Lindor/Lindor's Brow = Linder from The Wind Waker.
Irch Plain = Irch from The Wind Waker.
Rowan Plain = Rown from The Wind Waker.
Elma Knolls = Elma from The Wind Waker.
Aldor Foothills = Aldo from The Wind Waker.
Mount Drena/Drenan Highlands = Drona from The Wind Waker.
Lake Mekar/Mekar Island = Makar from The Wind Waker.
Lake Saria = Saria from Ocarina of Time and Saria Town from Zelda II.
Mido Swamp = Mido from Ocarina of Time and Mido Town from Zelda II.
Lots of references to Koroks and Kokiri, which makes sense as the Koroks live in this area in Breath of the Wild.
Eldin Region (a.k.a. Death Mountain)
Tumblr media
Lake Darman = Darmani from Majora's Mask.
Darunia Lake = Darunia from Ocarina of Time and Darunia Town from Zelda II.
Gorko Lake/Gorko Tunnel = Gorko from Skyward Sword.
Gortram Cliff = Gortram from Skyward Sword.
Darb Pond = Darbus from Twilight Princess.
Medingo Pool = Medigoron from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
Gero Pond = Don Gero's Mask from Majora's Mask.
Lots of references to Gorons, as the Gorons live here in Breath of the Wild. Don Gero's Mask is probably here because it is initially worn by a Goron in Majora's Mask.
Akkala Region
Tumblr media
Kanalet Ridge = Kanalet Castle from Link's Awakening.
Ulri Mountain/Ulria Grotto = Old Man Ulrira from Link's Awakening.
Torin Wetland = Tarin from Link's Awakening.
Malin Bay = Marin from Link's Awakening.
Ukuku Plains = Ukuku Prairie from Link's Awakening.
Kaepora Pass = Kaepora Gaebora from Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Four Swords Adventures.
Tingel Island = Tingle, who appears in a lot of Zelda games.
Ankel Island = Ankle from The Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures and The Minish Cap.
Knuckel Island = Knuckle from The Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures and The Minish Cap.
Davdi Island = David Jr. from The Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures and The Minish Cap.
Akkala is a cluster for Link's Awakening references, with the reference to Kaepora Gaebora likely also tying into this. That owl's spiritual predecessor, simply called the Owl, namely appeared in Link's Awakening. The islands of off Akkala's coast meanwhile are named after the four Tingle brothers.

89 Days Until Tears of the Kingdom Release. The Trailer Breakdown is here. Sorry Tumblr killed the image quality. This is Part One of Three.
Warning: This will be obscenely long. I have spent hours of my life on this and I even went around Hyrule in BOTW to double check things. I have also watched only one reaction/analysis video (Limcube) whose ideas I reference a few times but the rest is all me. Now, I know many of the oddities and differences could easily be explained by saying we time travel into the past but I’m going to approach this for the most part as if we are not time traveling because it's more fun this way. Also, the colors refer to the corresponding arrows/circles on the image above it.
Tumblr media
First thoughts: Dang the sky is mad. Do not wear metal in this weather. Red: Malice spewing out of Death Mountain. Never not gonna be interested in that. Green: Green swirlies. I’m assuming this is something that lets you travel into the sky. Maybe lets you phase through the ground like one of the past trailers has shown us. Liquifies Link even. Orange: Weird funky rock. Meteorites?? Yeah I’m gonna point these out a lot.
Tumblr media
Red: Malice pool right next to the green swirlies. Blue: Tiny glowing dots in the distance. Other green swirlies? If so they seem to dot the landscape like shrines in that you can see the glow far off. Unless they are more of those symbols/drawings inscribed on ground/grass that we see later.
Tumblr media
First thoughts: Keese on steroids. My friend suggests calling them Geese. Second thoughts: Actually, they remind me of the flying enemies from Twilight Princess, Twilit Kargarok, only yellow. Hmm yellow and orange… I hope they are not electric or fire although there seems to be a lack of that in the trailer. Note: The area is clearly where the Sheikah Tower near the Korok Forest (Woodland Tower) should be, except well it’s obviously not there.
Tumblr media
Blue: Glowing towers that are clearly not Shiekah Towers. I like the spotlights though. They look kinda prehistoric.  Orange: Big glowy symbols/drawing. I really want to know what these are for. Green: It’s kinda hard to see but I think it’s a big storm tornado thing in the sky. You can see it much better later in the trailer. Reminds me of the stormhead dome in Skyward Sword.
Tumblr media
Blue: Glowing orange thing down there. Can’t tell what it is but maybe a chest? Idk why but I have this idea you might have to jump down from higher and angle yourself to land on it. You had to do this for platforms in Skyward Sword. Red: This island being at a lower altitude from the one taking up most of the shot pleases me. I like the idea of layered sky islands. Might be a nightmare for stamina and paragliders until we can get those vehicles.
Tumblr media
General thoughts: Brand new underground area. I’ve never seen anything like this in BOTW. Green: Blue flame spirit things. These are so interesting. I wanna know what these are. They remind me of willow the wisps or maybe the Bluepee. I hope this means more spirit things in this game. I will be quite sad if they are only an environmental design choice. Red: Malice infused Lizalfos. Again I haven’t seen elemental enemies yet. Only malice ones. Huh it’d be pretty funny if they bled black but then that’d be infringing on the Linked Universe and enemies don’t bleed in Zelda games. Pink: Why are they mining? Seriously, Ganondorf, what are you having your minions mine for? You lose something? Do the bokoblins need money or ore for something? Hmm, a bokoblin run market would be interesting. Blue: This glowy snake tree thing kinda looks like a tunnel of some sort. Maybe it’s a way to travel from the surface to this. If so I’d treat it like a slide but then I’d break my knees cause you can bet fall damage is still a thing… hmm can’t wait to see people time how long it takes for Link to fall from the highest island to the ground and go splat
Tumblr media
Note: The Bridge of Hylia is the same. Yes, I double checked. Words: “Rise, rise my servants.” I’m fairly sure this is Ganondorf.   Red: DRAGON. THREE HEADED FIRE DRAGON. Yeah so this is one of the few elemental enemies shown in the trailer. I want to fight this thing so bad. I’ve heard people say it's a Gleeok possibly (an enemy from the first Legend of Zelda game.) It reminds me of a much cooler version of the Hydra enemies from Skyward Sword. Blue: Vaguely green glow that probably denotes a green swirly thing. Pink: Malice holding up the castle looks sick. I like that you can see it glowing red from far away.
Tumblr media
General Thoughts: It’s Hateno and it mostly looks the same but not quite Words: “Sweep over Hyrule.” Yeah, yeah Ganondorf we get you have a grudge. Green: Green swirly thing is new. It’s not quite in the same place as the shrine which is absent from this picture.  Blue: Purah’s furnace is gone and so are the blue flame lanterns along the road and the ancient furnace down in the village. Purah’s lab also isn’t glowing. Actually, this makes me wonder about teleportation since no Sheikah slate. Maybe we get so many new vehicles because no instant teleportation.
Tumblr media
General thoughts: First time we see Link. Hello buddy. Also sequels and moons as enemies am I right? Words: “Eliminate this kingdom and her allies.” This Ganondorf doesn’t want to rule over people but wipe them out which makes me think about Demise’s anger and hatred. However, Ocarina of Time Ganondorf devastated the land pretty badly so maybe all of the Ganondorfs/Ganons like extreme destruction. Also, I’m pretty sure Hyrule’s allies are all the different races, Zora, Rito, Gerudo (talk about betraying your own people Ganondorf), Shiekah. I’m not holding out hope for other nations/kingdoms getting involved. Blue: You can see islands in the background. I wonder what the long trailing thing is. Pink: The shield is the same one we’ve seen in a past trailer but of course Link had a different outfit then. Also the bow is a brand new one that’s not in BOTW. The sword handle also makes me think it's a new weapon. I like the triforce triangles on the shield and the not-really-Sheikah-eye eye. It’s got eyelashes.
Tumblr media
General thoughts: I wonder if we get a super strong blood moon in the beginning and then the cycle returns to normal like BOTW or will we get more frequent blood moons or maybe blood moons are every night but they don’t work quite the same like moon is just red everynight and enemies are stronger but every once and a while we get a super blood moon that respawns enemies. Words: “Leave no survivors.” This part really makes me think more Demise than Ganondorf. The way the VA growled this part also made me think of Pig Ganon or Ganondorf’s beast form. Blue: It's kinda hard to make out but that’s a lot of malice. It’s really consuming the castle there.
Tumblr media
Green: Green swirly thing is already present when the Ganon moon starts raining meteors. Does this mean that this footage isn’t from the first cutscene the trailer is alluding to but a later blood moon cycle? Do the swirly things appear as soon as the green seal breaks on Ganon? Or do they appear before and that's why Link and Zelda were exploring underneath the castle? Also this one happens to be in the same spot as the Jee Noh Shrine. Pink: Great plateau walls appear to be fixed and this is the area that should be full of snow. The spot is on the south side of Mount Hylia. Trust me I double checked and Ganon was so helpful as to spawn a blood moon while I was checking out the walls so I accidentally recreated this part of the trailer. Why did the climate on the plateau change so drastically and did Link and Zelda repair the walls?
Tumblr media
First thoughts: WTF IS THAT THING??!! Second thoughts: Either it's some form of Ganon or it's a mutated malice guardian enemy. It reminds me of the corrupted evil egg guardian from Age of Calamity. I can’t decide if I want to fight it or run from it. Black: On the third look, it has bone claws/hands. Uhhh weird bone growths line up with the other enemies but this thing is disturbing me the longer I look at it. Time to move on.
Tumblr media
General thoughts: So besides the dragon this is the only other elemental enemy. At least I think it's an enemy. Seems like a really massive and powerful Igneo Talus. Unless it's a piece of Death mountain area rising into the sky to become a lava island but that seems like a stretch.
Tumblr media
General thoughts: Just wanted to note that since pieces of the castle are breaking off, the layout of the castle is probably gonna be changed from BOTW. Idk how much but it makes sense that they would want to alter the interior map. Not like the Castle wasn’t already a bit of a pain to navigate.
Tumblr media
General thoughts: The red lighting looks extremely intimidating. 10/10 Pink: Malice pools where the Magnesis Shrine should be. Did Ganon’s malice eat the shrines? Where is it even coming from? Is it bubbling From underground or from the blood moon? Considering it’s so close to that bit of water near the shrine, it makes me wonder if certain water sources will be infected with malice and what that will do to the Zora. Green: Glowy symbols again. I really really want to know more about those. Yellow: The plateau walls here are damaged unlike the more fortified ones in the previous plateau picture. I also double checked and as far as I can tell this is the same exact damage that exists in BOTW. Maybe Link and Zelda didn’t get around to fixing it yet? Also if I acknowledge the time travel possibility then this just tells me that the blood moons happen in both time periods.
Tumblr media
General thoughts: So Ganon is spawning these guys in. What does this mean for the regular bokoblins? Were they all cleared out by Link, Zelda, and a recovering Hyrule so Ganon just spawned in evolved versions? Also I can’t quite tell where this is (unless this is on the plateau walls, the nice fixed up ones we saw earlier considering the trees in the background). Oh well.
Tumblr media
Blue: First off this is a Redead. This is a hundred percent a Redead and I give Nintendo 15/10 for scary design. Redeads are always meant to be terrifying. That being said, I will ancient arrow these things (that is if ancient arrows still exist.) Of course this begs the question. Which unlucky dead person got resurrected and mutated to be a Redead? Did Ganon turn dead Yiga into Redeads or is he using the dead Hylians that he killed during the Calamity? I wonder what the lore on these things is gonna be. Green: Big guy. A very large dude. Reminds me of the Moblins from Skyward Sword. Yellow: Bone growth on the red Moblin reminds me of a Pachycephalosaurus (dinosaur.)
Tumblr media
Orange: Big storm in the sky but much better shot. As I said before it reminds me of the storm dome thing from Skyward Sword. Blue: Again I really like the way the malice looks streaming up and out from under the castle. It looks sufficiently ominous enough for my taste. Like that’s an evil castle right there. Green: I hunted for this area since there aren’t exactly many paved/cobbled roads in BOTW. The best I can tell is that this is the road between the Sacred Ground Ruins and the Mabe Village Ruins. Yes, I zoomed around Hyrule Field on my motorbike dodging guardian blasts every five seconds. Yeah, I felt pretty cool right up until I failed to dodge but then I murdered those two guardian stalkers so all was well.
Tumblr media
General Thoughts: Looks like the area where the golfing minigame is in BOTW, that same valley that leads to the Forgotten Temple. Blue: There is a Molduga in that avalanche. What the heck is that about?
Tumblr media
Green: What is that arm holding? I know it's likely a mechanical part of some sort but I thought it was a brush at first lmao Red: Makes me think of Purah and/or Robbie but this area is definitely brand new. Maybe one or both remodeled. Or it’s neither of them but a secret third option. Still the blue glow also makes me think of teleportation so maybe it's not completely go
Tumblr media
General thoughts: Poor Link getting accosted by Doctor Octopus arms. Blue: That’s the Shiekah eye so this is probably a Shiekah place. Still, why does this place give me Yiga vibes? Pink: Let me just appreciate actual chainmail under that Champion's tunic.  Green: Clawed ancient hand. I’m very fascinated by it so just noting that it’s not glowing here.
Tumblr media
Blue: The strange rocks. They make me think of meteorites but also the big guardian pillars that surround the castle and the material that make up the shines. Did Ganon explode those pillars and pieces of them are now littered across Hyrule? Did they just emerge out of the ground? Or, if we’re thinking about time travel, are these the materials that the Shiehka later use to make the shrines and those pillars.? Green: Big dude has a large horn. The skulls on him remind me of the bokoblin skulls that you could collect from defeated bokoblins in Skyward Sword. Also does he have an ax on his head? Pink: I went to check all the areas I could with this type of tree (Taoba Grasslands, Oseira Plains, and the area right beneath the words Gerudo Canyon which by the way has fairies lurking around) but not a single one has greenish grass with flowers. Maybe the grass literally grew greener after Calamity was defeated for a bit. Hyrule restoring itself and all that jazz.
Tumblr media
General thoughts: Hehe look at that Hinox with his dumb little hat. Also we are in a cave. We are totally getting underground sections. Pink: This green orb looks like the one you find on the Thundra plateau. It’s also making me think of the three orbs you have to collect in Wind Waker and place in those statues. Farore vibes. Red: What is this glow? Is it the orb or something else?
Tumblr media
General thoughts: Yes, another one of the Hinox chase. I want you to appreciate Link’s running animation… jk. I’m just noting that I’ve never seen those plants in BOTW. You must be telling yourself OP how could you expect to know every little plant in BOTW but I’m telling you I’ve played the game for somewhere around 1000 hours and I’ve watched too many BOTW videos to count. Also there are plants growing on the cave walls in the back. (I kept an eye out while I was double checking other things for this breakdown and still couldn’t find these plants. Pls correct me if I’m wrong)
Tumblr media
General thoughts: New paraglider, yay. I mean it doesn’t seem that different but I now know we can customize it with different fabrics. I hope there are in-game customizations as well as the amiibo ones. Also, no Ridgeland Tower. I really wonder where the heck all of them went. Red: I like that you can see all these islands in the sky from down here. Also what the heck is that cube island? Limcube said he thought it was related to the mazes but I don’t wanna think of dealing with a rubix cube maze that's vertical and horizontal. I’m gonna be lost for weeks.
Tumblr media
General thoughts: Obviously, the symbols are driving me nuts. I wanna know what they are for so badly. I do think it's funny we can just ride a horse right through them. I just know someone is gonna try and set this grass on fire to see what happens. Red: What is this thing? It’s hard to make out but it looks like it has four limbs, a tail, and tusks maybe? Yeah it looks kinda like an elephant. I wonder if it's another new enemy. Blue: Just think it's funny that there’s a random rock here.
Tumblr media
Blue: They are like the Twilight Princess Kargarok. I know I’m not the only one getting flashbacks to that one minigame where you had to hit those fruit balloons while the Kargarok was carrying Wolf Link similar to this. Green: New weapon that looks like a primitive hatchet. Yellow: So in BOTW this is the area that’s covered in darkness (Typhlo Ruins). I wonder why it isn’t covered in shadow here. Pink: Storm in the sky. I just like pointing this out. I wanna explore the storm tornado cause I just know something is interesting there. LET ME IN!
Tumblr media
Pink: This guy has bull horns like a Longhorn (sorry it's hard to see here). I like this design. I didn’t get a picture of it but he slams his head into the ground so I’m assuming it's a new type of attack. So that means, even if the enemies look mostly the same, we should watch out for new attack patterns. Yellow: This is the Wooden shield so not new. Green: again looks like the Pachycephalosaurus (dinosaur).
Tumblr media
General thoughts: They really just stacked stuff on top of the enemy skull camps. Blue: What is this stick weapon? Maybe, it's at an odd angle but it doesn’t look long enough to be a wooden spear and it’s definitely not a regular BOTW stick. It’s like a slightly heavier stick lol.
Tumblr media
General thoughts: Whoa this is such a cube enemy, a block man. Square. Obviously, it reminds me of both Tetris and Minecraft. Also I really like that it’s so bright because the islands are closer to the sun. Red: Probably very much a glowing weakness. I hope we can break that specific block. It also glows the same shade as Link’s new arm so Zonai tech??  Blue: Pointing out the sky islands again. I really like the variety of shapes and altitudes. I can’t wait to explore these.

How are you enjoying tears of the kingdom so far?
I'm sort of two minds about it in complete honesty!
Tears of the Kingdom is a well executed sequel to a well executed proof of concept that was Breath of the Wild. I saw someone refer to TotK as the game BotW said it would be and I wholeheartedly agree. If you liked BotW, you will love TotK.
Everything that was great about BotW continues to be great and then some with TotK. The exploration. The look into how Hyrule and the surrounding kingdom/territories works. The mechanics are tighter. The story is more engaging. The characters are more fun and less bland. Additionally it feels like they took the good parts from some of their other games, including games that did not do well, and mixed it in here. The sky portion feels like what Skyward Sword wanted to be. Getting chased by the gloom hands felt like getting jumped by the shadow beasts in Twilight Princess. I feel like I'm playing a combo of Windwaker (my ultimate fave Zelda game), Minish Cap, Skyward Sword, A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Twilight Princess. And it's FUN.
Howver.
That means many of the flaws are continued as well. The Gerudo continue to be Orientalist middle eastern anti-arab stereotypes. The strange transmisogyny bits with the Gerudo are also still there. Those are both Zelda staples so in honesty they'd have to completely rehaul how they treat the entire race to fix it.
Sometimes controls are Extremely Stupid and things move in a completely different direction than I told them to. I was just 🔪🔪🔪 about this while playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla and how peeved it made me when I would move the stick forward and Eivor would cut left or right randomly while running to avoid an invisible obstacle. This also happened in BotW and it's actually a pretty common annoyance of mine with various games.
Overall I'd say it's a great game that does try to improve on its flaws and for the most part does a good job. But it also doubles down on a few of them and that can be a problem if those particular flaws kept you from playing the first one.

Legend of Zelda Theme Park - Odds and Ends
Here are a few ideas for the theme park that didn't fit into the area-by-area descriptions, either because they apply to the whole park or because it was too much detail for the simple summaries.
Phone App Minigames
I've made a few references to these over the course of the theme park posts, but never gave any specifics. So here are some of those:
Scavenger hunts. How many Zelda games include a "catch 'em all" sidequest? Several, that's how many. The premise of this is quite simple: Some number of a small creature--Koroks, Gold Skulltulas, baby Maiamais, or whatever--are placed around the park, and if you can find and photograph them all, you can get a prize! A combination of signal transmitters and image recognition would ensure the legitimacy of the photos.
Music apps where you look for certain signs and symbols to let you know there's a secret here to be triggered if you play the right song. The effects might be flickering lights, sliding panels in walls or rock faces to reveal a unique sight, etc.
Merch
Throughout the writeups, I've described the unique shops and their unique lines of souvenirs to some extent, but what about simpler, more universal Legend of Zelda goodies that could be sold anywhere in the park? Here are a few fun ideas:
Bag of rupees. How can you be a proper adventurer without your own supply of Hyrule's currency? The way I see it, the bags would come in different sizes at different price points, each containing a fixed number of 1-inch resin rupees, but randomly selected colors--you never know what you're going to get until you open the bag. "Higher-value" rupees are naturally rarer--they can't actually be exchanged for anything, but it mimics the in-game value and rarity.
Fantasy ear headbands. You could get "elf" ears (in a variety of skin tones) and be a Hylian, Gerudo, or Sheikah, "fin" ears to be a Zora, or even big floppy goblinesque Bokoblin ears!
Collectibles from the games. Think Wind Waker's Spoils or Skyward Sword's Treasures--small, distinctive items that must be collected in some numbers to be useful and are not necessary to complete the game.
Food and Snacks
Hard candy rupees. Pretty self-explanatory--just don't get them mixed up with your toy rupees from the blind bag!
Kinstone sugar cookie 2-packs. Two half-cookies frosted with red, blue, or green icing and with part of the Minish clover emblem piped on.
Triforce corn chips. These come in three flavors--Power (chili), Wisdom (blue corn and flax seed), and Courage (avocado). Bags are single-flavor or all three together.
The "Desert Menu." Okay, this is just silly. I thought the dessert menu at the Royal Banquet Hall should have every item named and themed after a desert area from the LoZ franchise. So there would be the Gerudo Dessert (melon sherbet with whipped cream and raspberries), the Lanayru Dessert (crumble cake with buttercream frosting and sanding sugar), the Dessert of Mystery (ultra-dark chocolate mousse cake), and for large parties, the Dessert Colossus (a huge multiflavor ice cream sundae).

Does Tears of the Kingdom break Zelda lore, or bring it all together?
Since Breath of the Wild, Zelda fans have struggled to find a place for it in the timeline. And while playing Tears of the Kingdom, at first the new backstory for Hyrule threw me for a loop bc it contradicted everything that we thought we knew, with Rauru and Sonia being the founders and first king and queen of Hyrule. But with various clues and hints between both games, i feel Tears of the Kingdom actually confirms not only how far along in the timeline the games are, but also which timeline. Let me explain. Please read the entire theory before commenting if you'd like.
Timeline Placement
To begin with, i believe now more then ever, that BotW and TotK take place in the child timeline. I will now provide evidence before i get into the history and lore for the new games. For this post i will be using evidence taken from the english version of the game.
We hear Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, and Twilight Princess get referenced in a memory cutscene, which in my opinon is a firm placement. But how do all the other things like the salt from a great flood and Koroks fit in, as well as enemies and many references to the fallne hero timeline? Simple.
We can eliminate the fallen hero timeline, as this is simply an alternate universe in which Link fails. Every reference to this timeline, such as Lynels and locations, are not exclusive to that timeline. Just because we only see and hear about these things in this alt universe, doesnt mean they dont exist in the other timelines. Whats sort of what an alt universe is after all. We can also rule out the Adult timeline as well, as Hyrule is destroyed in that timeline, and the only thing really linking it there is the sea salt and Koroks. And i have an explanation for that as well.
Contradicting Lore?
Now we need to address why TotK has lore that seems to contradict Skyward Swords explanation of the founding of Hyrule, and the inclusion of the Zonai. The reason is very simple. These games take place so insanely far into the future, that the Hyrule we know from the established timeline has been long gone, destroyed by a great disaster, and this version of Hyrule is brand new, with a new founder and new history. I know that may sound crazy, and my explanation may seem all over the place. But if youve made it this far, then please continue on to what i believe is the new history of Hyrule.
New History
Here is the timeline as i see it with the inclusion of BotW and TotK.
The events of Skyward Sword take place and Link and Zelda found Hyrule and establish the kingdom.
The time know as the Era of Myth takes place, which includes all games from SS all the way through to the end of the Child Timeline, and this marks the end of the Era of Myth in this timeline.
After the events of the final game, an unknown period of time passes, and events and important things that happen in the alt universe of the fallen hero timeline can take place, since the things that exist in that universe can also exist in the other timelines, explaining the presence of fallen timeline enemies.
At some point, the building that would later be known as the Forgotten Temple is built, and stories of all the heroes and crazy events are stored in this building, as stated in Creating a Champion.
A Great flood occurs, destorying the Hyrule we know from all previously exisiting games. This explains the presence of Koroks, Sea Salt being scattered through the land, and Leviathan bones being in strange places like the mountains and being inland (I know some of them resemble deities that can fly but the ID of these has never been confirmed so they could just be large sea creatures.)
Before the flood wiped out all life, a few Hylians and Races escaped to the high mountains just like in Wind Waker.
The waters recede and Hyrule as been completely changed geologically, and the Forgotten Temple is buried under the earth.
Hylians descend the mountains and repopulate Hyrule.
The race known as the Zonai descend from the skys and are seen as god like beings (as stated in TotK). They bless the land with their architecture, culture and technology and live in harmony with Hylians.
The Zonai start to mine and dig for resources and to learn about Hyryles past that has been burried beneath the sea and earth for what could be centuries, explaining all the zonai architecture in the Depths.
After unknown time, relations turn sour, and a war breaks out between the Zonai and Hylians, explained by the amount of spirits, corpses, and poes in the Depths surrounding Zonai buildings.
The war possibly was caused by many Zonai who had a god complex and tried to subjugate Hylians, as they had been revered as gods for so long they believed it.
Rauru steps in and helps the Hylians defeat his own kind (Ganondorf says there use to be many Zonai, and Rauru looks uncomfortable during that comment, perhaps because he is the reason only a few survive, those who sided with him and the Hylians).
To end the conflict and bring peace, Rauru, and Zonai, marries a Hylian woman, and the two became the first official King and Queen of this knew Hyrule, to embrace ancient Hylian customs and appease the Hylian victors. (This is something that happens in real life all the time).
From here, things occue as we see them in the game. Zelda appears from the future, and Rauru has no idea who she or Link or the Master sword are, so the Forgotten Temple hasnt been unearthed yet.
This version of Ganondorf falsely swears loyalty to Rauru after attempting to strike at the end of this brutal war when the Zonai are weakest, but is still defeated and falsey swears loyalty to Rauru.
Ganondorf takes the Secret Stone and murders Sonia, and this version of the Imprisoning War takes place.
Rauru gives his life to seal Ganondorf, and the war ends.
Unknown time passes and the Kingdom of Hyrule flourishes. The Sheikah take inspiration from the Zonai tech and base their own off of it, explaining the similarities.
The Forgotten Temple is unearthed, allowing modern Hylians to know the stories from the Era of Myth and learn that the Ganondorf they defeated is not the first one, and the cycle will repeat. It also gives them knowledge of the Master Sword and what it does and the history of their land.
The Sheikah use their tech to build divine beats, and base their design off of the masks worn by the warriors who helped Rauru in the Imprisoning War.
Calamity Ganon appears, and the Sheikah use the divine beasts and their guardians to assist the princess of this time and the hero to defeat Ganon.
The hero in the prophecy is one of the last remaning Zonai lines, (As the hero from 10,000 years ago is the Zonai link transforms into with his "Ancient Heroes Aspect" armor set).
Calamity Ganon is sealed and 10,000 years of peace ensues. We then go into the events of BotW and TotK as we see them play out.
Conclusion
If you've made it this far, thank you. I know this might seem like a made a few jumps in logic, but i can see much of this being plausiable, even if its not provable. I hope referencing the games to explain why i chose this series of events helps. Even still, there are gaps and things i cannot explain. particularly how the time paradox of Zelda being there to shape history back then, but also the Master Sword traveling through time with Zelda as a dragon but still also being there for the events of BotW.
This was just one nerds attempt to make sense of the confusing lore, and while there may be flaws, i hope you at least enjoyed the read. Please let me know what you agree with or disagree with, and if you have a better explanation, please let me know. Id love to hear it :)

writing commissions
so originally, i was going to wait until next year to open it. new circumstances have emerged rendering it necessary to start them now. my previous work can be found here. now for the nitty gritty. all prices are in usd.
the pay scale is 10 cents a word overall, but vague word counts can be negotiated. for example, if you want a piece between 400 to 500, a flat rate of of 45 will be given or if you give a word count of 2000 to 3000, a flat rate of 250 will be given. you will not be charged extra if i go over an agreed upon word count.
please note that if you wish to go above 10k words, it is not a flat 10 cent per a word, but also an additional charge of 100 per each additional thousand past that threshold. so 1k words would be 1,100 usd, 11k words would be 1,200 usd, and so on.
we can discuss a special pricing structure if you wish to have a fic longer than 20k.
once a price is agreed upon, i will send a paypal invoice. half the payment is required before i start on your piece.

I had intended to predominantly post art on this account but I keep seeing people refer to the “First Hero” mentioned in LoZ Skyward Sword as some unknown, ancient dude but he’s not unknown and it makes me angry!! The first hero is Skyward Sword Link! The one we play as! The journey of Link in Skyward Sword is a paradoxical self-fulfilling prophecy laid out by Hylia (the supposed goddess of time) and enacted by none other than Impa in an unsuspected loop! No one can convince me otherwise! Idk if this is an already widely known thing and I just happen to be reading a few blogs that think otherwise but whatever, I wrote it out.
1 week later: okay so at the start of Skyward Sword after getting your loftwing and kicking Groose’s ass in the knight exam Link is up on the goddess statue with Zelda doing the sailcloth ceremony. This is where a lot of people get the idea that there was a “First Hero” before SS Link because Zelda straight up says it and this sailcloth ceremony tradition seemingly goes back many years, right?
Tumblr media
So the only evidence (in my memory) that alludes to a hero before SS Link is 1. Receiving a sailcloth from the goddess herself, and 2. Demise being sealed away in the ancient past in the Sealed Grounds.
At the start of the game literally in that screenshot Link is meeting the criteria of receiving a sailcloth from ‘the goddess herself’ and later on near the end of the game Link fulfills the second criteria of sealing away Demise in the ancient past when Ghirahim is no longer able to revive Demise in the present (due to unfortunate death by holy hydro press).
Tumblr media
There are definitely a few plotholes in this, being a paradox and all, but I chalk most of them up to creative liberty in Nintendo’s attempt to reactively try to make a coherent timeline and foundation for a series that was chronologically written backwards and sideways.
How did the tradition of the sailcloth ceremony and story of the ancient hero reach Skyloft if Link didn’t interact with anyone from the past while in the past? Iirc he sealed away Demise in an era when Hylia was still alive (or soon after she perished) so maybe she spread the stories herself or had Impa do it? Maybe she had the dragons or Levias spread them? Idk. How did Link learn the three or four seals he used to keep Demise in the Sealed Grounds for so long? This one can be attributed to the paradox he’s in, where Link learns the four seals in the present by resealing them after every fight before he then uses all four of them on Demise after the final battle.
I can’t think of other plotholes Nintendo left but my point here is that there is no hero before the Link of Skyward Sword. I’m not gonna go correcting people or criticizing folks like an arrogant smartass for writing/drawing what and how they want but I am going to…idk
