"I need to know that I have done one thing right with my life." I think this is Tom Welling's first co-star to win an Oscar after working with Tom! The Whale (2022) opens with a close-up shot of a laptop screen - rectangular, impersonal, distanced. The camera zooms in on the singular black box in the middle of the Zoom video meeting. It says "Instructor," but there is no mystery as to who he is; the audience knows he is the protagonist of the story. Soon, we see him, Charlie, in his apartment seated on the sofa. This apartment is the stage for this story. Charlie never leaves.

The whale!
I have watched many movies in my life. I could say I'm some what of a movie buff. I'm a very emotional person who has had many horrible, terrible, and emotional things happen in my life. I'm a pisces, an empath, and a mother. so when I feel I feel hard. when I'm happy I'm so happy. when im mad I'm so mad, and when I'm sad I'm extremely sad. I feel energies and can kind of tell the future some would say. the movie I just encountered “ The Whale” is by far the  most amazing, best movie I have ever watched in my 32 years of life. I felt every emotion high and low. The meaning and the story was such an amazing thing to watch unfold with major help from the amazing Brendan Frasier and Sadie sink, I can't imagine anyone not liking thins movie or at least falling madly in love with the acting. through out the whole movie the feelings and the moments are there and now I definitely see why this amazing maser piece won so many awards. it was truly a work of art!

Here’s my shot of Brendan Fraser from the Academy Awards 2023 Oscars Nominee Luncheon. I shot Brendan twice in one week this year. It was a bit of a surprise. #brendanfraser @thewhalemov #thewhale #thewhalemovie @academyawards #academyawards #academyawardsnominee #oscarluncheon #95thacademyawards (at The Beverly Hilton) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp_xB64ukkT/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Congrats to @brendan__fraser for you @theacademy win My write up of the film. Link in my bio under "my articles" "Confession: I am a survivor of religious trauma. When I tucked into Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale, that trauma was evident from the opening scenes. Every character and side story is touched by it, and the one tie that binds them all is the church and the damage created by that connection."

@drlucioguimaraes #abaleia #thewhale #brendanfraser #filme #cinema #drama #sexualidade #familia #amor #religiao #instagram #instafilm #instafilmes #amorproibido #homossexualidade #trantornomental #obesidade #transtornocompulsivoalimentar #psiquiatria #dramapsicológico #psicologia #drlucio #drlucioguimaraes (em Dr Lucio Guimarães) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpQ0vogv8eX/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

“Do you ever get the feeling that people are incapable of not caring?”
No matter how much you act like you don’t, you somewhere do and you’ll always care about that one person, one incident or that one picture. If one is to say that they are capable of not being emotionally attached to things, it certainly means that they know how it is to emotionally get attached.
‘The Whale’ has such a hauntingly peaceful effect on my heart that its going to take a lot of time for me to come out of this fiction-induced reality that I’ve come across. This one line by Charlie has kept me thinking about social creatures. This one dialogue contains a lot of weight if understood completely. You can’t be a rock when your very existence opposes it. It can be verbal, it is visible in some people’s actions. Some people care by not caring too much. And some people tend to make you independent by not holding on to you too much and that is also care.
Think about the feeling you’d get when you just boil water for someone who isn’t well. The more you want to care about for someone, the more you understand how deprived you are of it yourself. So, shouldn’t we know how much care we need for ourselves? And what do we do after we find out? We’ll understand the amount of care our very self needs.
Caring about others is crucial to get to self-care.
Love

The Whale (15): Comeback kid Brendan Fraser's shoots for Oscar glory.
#onemannsmovies review of "The Whale" (2023). #TheWhaleMov. Brendan Fraser and Hong Chau give heartbreaking performances. Brilliant. 4/5.
A One Mann’s Movies review of “The Whale” (2023). So, how’s your New Year ‘get fit’ resolution going? With my weekly circuit training, pilates and dance fitness class, my abs are killing me! The alternative though, when taken to extreme, is to head down the route that Brendan Fraser’s character Charlie has followed in “The Whale”. A life totally crippled by extreme morbid obesity. Bob the Movie…
