I'm sorry, I really thought I could be a normal person about this, but literally every time I remember that the mario movie went out of its way to have Bowser say such a foreboding line as "we'll see how tough this Mario is when he watches me kill his brother!" and then simply REFUSED TO PAY THAT OFF when it really could have been a surprising and scary gut punch late in the movie to see Bowser attempt something there, even briefly, I become a little more deranged.

I love the idea of Bowser meeting a feral Sonic during the Smash Bros tournament and just deciding 'yup thats mine. My kid.' He just forcibly adopts him while Sonic is biting back the urge to hiss at everyone, and trying not to bite (affectationately). And then during the Olympics he meets equally feral Tails and goes 'Two for one, nice.' Now he has three kids, all feral (yall cannot convince me Junior isn't feral) and is not afraid to stick them on people and, particularly in Sonic and Tails' case, feed them. He hasn't been able to convince Sonic and Tails to take over Mushroom Kingdom with him yet, but that's okay. It's a workin progress, and they're stil his kids.
