spoilers for that scene in 1x10 under the cut.
so. that scene. the choking “kink” scene.
Daemon doesn’t grab Rhaenyra by the neck because he doesn’t love her or because he wants to hurt her. he grabs her by the neck because Daemon is a fucked up human being. he’s violent and chaotic and messy. he is incapable of dealing with his own emotions. he has no control over himself.
he acts insane throughout the whole episode. Rhaenyra herself says so. he tries to keep his mind occupied at all times, preparing for war, because if he lets himself feel, he’s gonna crumble.
it’s not that he doesn’t feel. it’s that he feels too much and doesn’t know what do to about it.
he grabs her by the neck because in the mist of grief and anger and desperation, he just found out that the brother he loved so dearly and that he so insistently tried to protect - Viserys, his big brother, he’s never trusted him. never. never had any intention of trusting him. not once. not at all.
Daemon is the kind of person who kills his wife by smashing her head with a rock.
so he grabs Rhaenyra by the neck. and she kind of laughs when she realises that Daemon doesn’t know. he does not know because his own brother kept their family secret from him.
Daemon grabs her by the neck but it’s not about Rhaenyra and Daemon as a couple.
it’s not about Rhaenyra at all.

for the amount of time i spend thinking about erika ishii, i do not post about them NEARLY enough
everything i've ever seen them in, they have been fully dialed in. they understand the genre, they understand the character they're playing, and they NEVER. FUCKING. MISS
my current dnd character is actually based on multiple characters of erika's that i enjoy. my character is a witch (like ame of worlds beyond number fame [thank you to the witch class playtest]) but she is also a brewer who grows weed and shrooms, and deals them, and does them (and her personality is very much modeled off of danielle barkstock in dimension 20's the seven)
i feel that many of my favorite moments from erika are often focused on other characters. but many of those character moments would not have been possible without erika's incredible roleplay and sense for storytelling
and when the moment IS focused on erika's character? spellbinding. groundbreaking. from ame talking to orima in the overgrown shrine to danielle getting a nat 20 at the masquerade ball, i always fall into the scene and feel it so deeply due to erika's skill and poise and commitment to the story being told
tldr i think erika ishii is incredibly talented and wonderful

it has occurred to me that there hasn’t been a kiss in the entirety of the bnha series.
now can you imagine,, if the only one in the entire series,,, is a gay one.

haha oh no im definitely not at all disturbed by the prevalence of leftists on all platforms who are loudly 'anti-genocide' when it comes to the palestinian cause (and a couple others at best :3c) yet the only time ukraine [ʊkrɐˈjinɐ] leaves their mouths is in critique, in stark comparison to the former or in complaint about their (american) government sending aid.
at first what i saw often was pointing out the differences in western media framing [ukraine vs palestine], and that's fair (until the words and the agenda of western journalists are used to paint, as a whole, ukrainians who have been actively going through genocide as some kind of white supremacists hogging the blanket of global attention when they kinda just want to live and have the rights to their own land, culture, names and families)
but no one is even caring to do that anymore, today bitches just invent metaphorical scenarios and people to get mad at and to throw an entire ethnos away because wahhhh i decided that you care for X but not for Y!!!.... all while doing the exact thing they are condemning. the exact absolute same and they don't even hide it but do lack the self-awareness to realise

I've finally managed to persuade two of my friends to listen to The Magnus Archives, and since neither of them have seen any fan content, I asked them to describe Jon to me. These were their descriptions:
S: Olive skin, little moustache, peach fuzz, light brown short fluffy hair, thin black glasses, wears nice brown suit with dark green waistcoat.
A: Double breasted pinstripe suit, red satin lining, matching straight cut trousers a bit too big, high neck shirt collar, winklepickers, monocle, short brown hair in finger wave, roman nose, green eyes, big ears, very pale (because he's in the dark all the time), deep set eyes from lack of sleep, clean shaven, thin lips, definitely carries a pocket knife, has a briefcase backpack (like a French school child) that has stickers on it from different airports, a walking stick with a handle shaped like an otter with visitor centre pins on it.

Okay okay so, it's pretty heavily implied that Knives fused with Tesla in stampede, right? And, iirc, fusing with another plant means you gain access to their thoughts and memories
So that would mean Knives, unless he managed to not see or block it out or whatnot, could have felt/seen/experienced what tesla went through, and I mean *would* he block it out? Would he let/make himself feel and remember as she did as yet another reminder of why he must do what he's doing, same as with the corpses in his piano room?
And like what are *her* thoughts, does she want humanity gone, punished for what they made her go through? Does she just want justice against those few scientists? Does she care at all? Maybe she even managed to push Knives into action a bit faster than he otherwise might have (wrote a bit about that thought then deleted it cause it was a bit too off topic I think, maybe a different post I'll put it)
Many thoughts about them
