Absolutely stellar, no notes, phenomenal, 10/10. 7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them? It is an absolute struggle not to get sucked into the whirlwind around Qui-Gon Jinn's character. He's so often used as a weapon against the other Jedi, when the reality of his character is that he's both a lovely person and kind of an actual asshole in the movie, he's a dick to Jar Jar! He only cares about Anakin because of the prophecy! But he also is genuine about his affections and he was a good teacher to help Obi-Wan come into himself! He's absolutely HILARIOUS when he's not giving a shit throughout all the batshit stuff that happens in the first 20 minutes of the movie! But so much of fandom wants to flatten him out into either lionizing him or demonizing him and, if that made it more fun for people, I'd be more onboard! Hell, yeah, lionize the hell out of your faves because you love them!! But so few people seem to actually care about the character for himself and, when he gets used to bash the other Jedi, sometimes it's hard to get out of the instinctive urge to dislike the character. (QUI-GON DESERVES BETTER THAN THIS. LET HIM BE AN ASSHOLE CAT THAT WE LOVE.) 9. worst part of canon Honestly, I like pretty much all of Lucas' canon, which is the primary stuff I care about. And most of the boring stuff I can just ignore. But, man, I have trouble with TBB. 20. part of canon you found tedious or boring To be honest, pretty much any of the Star Wars books from the last couple of years that don't focus on established characters. (And some of the established characters, too, I could not finish the Padme trilogy.) I am just so full up on half-sketched characters that never seem to have any real arc to their character or bite to them that I've almost entirely stopped reading SW books, I'm just so bored with them, none of them have Lucas' ability to create a character I want to spend time with or they don't have the page time (like 3+ books worth) to develop them. 21. part of canon you think is overhyped I wouldn't have said this three years ago, but I'll say it today: The Mandalorian. That first season was phenomenal and deserved to be as hyped as it was, just for what it did for breathing enthusiasm back into the fandom. Those early days were amazing, we all got along in fandom, there was genuine affection and zeal for having fun with the characters! But by the time the third season came around, despite that I had a blast during it, it didn't deserve the hype anymore, Favroni had lost their focus or something, and it was all over the place and I don't think it deserves to be "the GOOD Star Wars" live action anymore. (You know what I mean with that.)

Thoughts:

I think my question of Kira being surprised on Lacus decision and his monologue of what will he gonna do, That's where the movie's climax would revolve around to.

So what do you all think what Kira's gonna do? Me think this is the part where he fall into darkness and do something extreme or he is doing borderline suicidal action either to his cause or to save Lacus or he will do something akin to the Zero Requiem of Code Geass.

Looks like Blue Cosmos is doing its usual war crimes. Interesting though the Foundation requests a team up with the Compass in order to stop Blue Cosmos. But I think Foundation has that hidden agenda that will lead to the downfall of the Compass. As I thought Athrun is somehow a spy sent by Orb and I think he will be assisted by Meyrin. Maybe they are spying on the Foundation?

Good thing Bandai has released this so we can have a hint on what is going on in Cosmic Era.

Highlights of the Trailer:

This Apron Lacus. Pretty sure she is living with Kira which it is also mentioned on the first OMAKE quarters drama. Good to see her being a woman doing some household chores. Can't wait to see how Kira behaves on their home.

This is Lacus the politician. We can see how hardened she is here compared to the Apron Lacus. I really think that only Kira understands who she really is and as a woman. I'm interested to see how shaken will she be if there are misunderstandings with Kira. I'm really interested on how she will let go of her politician ego and just become a woman that shows emotions to the man she loves. In the end though I just want these two to retire and be with each other with the rest of their lives because they deserve it.

Final Thoughts:

As I mentioned on my previous post, this movie is a love story of Kira and Lacus. It is the plot they first planned back then and was scrapped because of the delays and moved on that they prefer a plot that matches up to the conflict of modern times. But yeah still glad that Fukuda went back to this. All those years of rewatching the series, I really want a story that focuses on Kira and especially Lacus because they kinda lack on DESTINY. That's why people misunderstood her and don't really have that much fanfics with her.

I'm low key hoping that there would be a part 2 of this movie based on how thick the script is. The scripts are two A4 phonebook thick. But yeah I'll take what Fukuda has cooked for us.

Cant wait for the movie, I'm more hyped for it than the upcoming Christmas. It is less than 70 days away now 😁

First impression:

My real first encounter with him was probably as a guest appearance within Green Lanterns, but the first book I read with him was GL/GA. I don't remember too much of what I thought of him there, it was probably more of a general "oh he seems cool I guess" kind of neutral/positive attitude. By the time I read a Hal comic I'd already met Simon, Jess, and Jo so he wasn't a contender for the spot of my favorite lantern. I never fully finished GL/GA though bc I had the book on loan

Impression now:

Mixed. There are some Hal moments I genuinely do love and like, but tbh he can get on my nerves very easily. Of the Earth lanterns he's either my least or next to least favorite (which doesn't mean I don't like him!) but he's also like the "main character" of GL so I get annoyed when I feel like other GLs are being ignored in favor of Hal.

Favorite moment:

With that said there are sooooooo many Hal moments I just love. He's very much a character made by specific moments for me (rather than a general appreciation of who he is overall). Some Swishy fave contenders include his "Avenge me" internal monologue when he fights Mongul in GL (1990) #46, and OFC the Emerald Twilight arc a few issues later. Also in the very first issue of that book, where he jumps off a cliff in front of some campers (waiting until the last moment before using his ring) was an important moment for me in reading Hal, because it was the first time I went "oh! This guy is crazy!"

Idea for a story:

An exploration of the fact that Hal literally killed himself on panel in GL (2011) #19. Because like what the hell, why did this happen and then NO ONE EVER TALKED ABOUT IT. (This is insane to me). I think I'd probably revisit it in a dream sequence, maaaybe doing a rewrite/reimagining of his Knight Terrors issue (which I have NOT read lol) to kind of address that and talk about his mental state and things that had an impact on that, stuff like his parents, the Guardians, PARALLAX. Basically it'd be Hal and the ghost of Tomar-Re just talking about how he is not okay. A pretty heavy response to a pretty heavy topic.

Unpopular opinion:

I'm going to be so real here like 95% of my Hal opinions are unpopular bc its just me talking about how I think he's overrated. Like we're bros ig but still. Overrated.

Like I LIKE him but I'm annoyed at him like 80% of the time bc DC is always putting out a mid story focusing on him while ignoring my faves WHO ARE SO COOL AND DESERVE STORIES 😤💔😭

I guess one beyond that is I'm not a fan of his friendship with Barry. Maybe this is just because I haven't read anything where they're like... interesting? But I just don't get the hype. ESPECIALLY compared to his relationship with Oliver which is absolutely insane in comparison. Like why are we talking abt Barry rn when OLLIE LITERALLY SHOT HAL AND HAL RESSURECTED OLLIE. like guys. Guys. Are you seeing this shit.

Favorite relationship:

Like ship wise? I'm not a huge Halcarol fan personally but I do think they're kind of the epitome of "you're perfect for each other. Never involve anyone else in what you have going on," kind of messy drama-filled relationship with a lot of history.

I also really like halollie and their relationship but not in like a "they should date" way or anything like that. Like they're bros to me who emotionally have a whole complicated little thing going on like idk

Within the lanterns I think the frenemy whatever thing Guy and Hal do is SO funny. I love especially the beginning of GL (1990) where Guy just in his free time shows up to ruin Hal's life while Hal is just so sick and done and mad about it. Peak comedy, Guy never change

Fave headcanon:

Do I have any headcanons about Hal? Not really. I try to think about him as little as possible (kidding). No um I'd say I don't really have any, and if I did they'd probably be really basic or smth like that he cries watching both Top Gun movies.

It was a sunny day, wind blowing softly as it rocked the branches of the trees that adorned the place. Truly beautiful. At least it would be beautiful if you got a chance to admire it. Instead, all were exhausted and fighting, again, to be the last one standing.

“The game is very easy:" The monotone voice of the teacher started to say. “be the last one on battle. You'll be fighting until one is the winner!" He raised his voice and a sadistic smile had appeared on his lips. Chills ran down everyone's spine, meanwhile, Aizawa kept explaining the rules: absolutely none. Quirks were to be used. But they did expect them to use brute force as well. Pairing up was not an option. You looked around, eyes wandering to the two girls that made the perfect team. Kyoka Jirou and Momo Yaoyorozu. Not only they made a perfect team, but also a perfect couple. It was jealousy perhaps? For a time you didn't know you didn't know if you felt envy towards one or the other. Eventually though, you came to realize it wasn't jealousy that you felt. It was love. True pure love.

You meditated about the feelings you had. Love. You loved them. But you felt guilty deep inside. How embarrassing and problematic would be if you confessed to them. They would have problems? Would they break up? No. It can't happen! You like them together. They are beautiful together. It was adorable. They were adorable. Whenever they laughed at something. The way they held hands in a way that seemed so romantic. The little presents on special occasions. Yet, you wanted to be there. At least to hype them up. And you did. For a long time you managed to help them set up dates, choose gifts, sometimes you'd even help them get ready for the dates.

Mineta of course realized that and tried to convince them to kiss or do more. You stood up for them and figured out that a single threat was enough. You would activate your quirk and show him you weren't scared and you weren't going to let it slide.

“I was rooting for us" You say, hiding in a corner, waiting for someone to attack you or for you to attack. A single tear streamed down your cheek and slide to the corner of your lips, the salty taste of it making you lick your lips out of instinct. You repressed a pained sob when you spotted them. Right under you. Little giggles and soft whispers that you couldn't figure out. Oh dear. The lighting wasn't good but you saw them smile and it made your heart sink.

Why? Why?! WHY?! Why her? Why couldn't you have a happy ending too? Life was truly unfair with the ones that don't deserve it. Everytime you think you might be letting go of that hope of getting together, you are reminded and proven wrong in the worst way possible. Like right now. Was it truly necessary for them to be there? Of all the cold, dark places. Here was the perfect place?

It ends here. You couldn't see them, so you decided to not look at them for the rest of the game. You needed them out.

“Nice view?" a voice startled you, out of instinct you threw a punch. A thud made it's way to your ears and you looked down to see the girls gone and Ojiro on the ground.

“I'm so sorry!” I exclaim but all i got was a thumbs up while he stood up and took impulse to hit you. “In my defense, you scared me" You shrugged and jumped to another place, sometimes swinging on the edges to get better angles. He had a powerful, strong quirk so it was all about getting him exhausted or finding a way to bring him down. You look down while swinging and saw acid, Kirishima was the only one who'd survive that. Maybe i could find someone to do the work for me. Yes! That was it! You screamed, making sure to let someone know your location and hoping someone would take the bait. And it wasn't long before explosions were heard. “bingo" you say under your breath and move up quickly.

“Oh fu-" Was heard before an explosion went off. Some dust going up. You laughed a little too loud and ran for it. Your quirk was more for protection than for attack, so of course you were scared for your life. “Come on out!” the echo made it impossible for you to figure exactly were it was. Ojiro was down but you were standing.

How many were left? You calculated the chances and figured if Bakugo was here maybe Deku was too. Maybe they hadn't had an encounter or you would have heard about it. It's easy to tell when they're fighting because of the amount of words they say. Mind running calculations you couldn't help but think about them again.

Where were they? Were they ok? Have they fought someone? Have they lost yet? You couldn't help but worry. You needed a plan to take out Bakugo. He was stubborn, and a hot headed. Maybe that was it? You would use that on your favor.

“Im right here, dumbass!" you yelled, jumping from a building to another. A laugh was heard from his part. Deep and scary. Those words fit him perfectly. Now it was time to lost him. Plus ultra!

It didn't work out.

You were currently on the nurse with some horrible scratches and a broken leg. And it hurt so much you yelled curses at him and your quirk managed to put a fight for you and protect you.

15 years and never broken a bone. Yet, on a stupid game, you broke a ful leg. Bakugo was almost surprised when you cussed him like a sailor. Some went to check on you. Recovery girl saw the distorted leg and frowned almost asking how did that happen. However, she remembered the many times she saw Midoriya coming with more than two broken bones.

After treating you, you heard the curtain being opened and saw the two girls that were in your dreams every night. The girls you had helped so much and cheered on to be together.

“How are you feeling L/N-san?” Momo sat down at the edge of the bed and grabbed your hand gently. She was shaking. You gave her a soft smile.

“I've been better. How are you two? Who was winner?" you asked, changing the subject because it'll made you think of something else.

“Kaminari won. Dumbass shocked everyone. Literally." laughed Jirou. ”The only ones standing was him and Deku but he forgot the shocks got in buildings too and Midoriya almost short circuited". Momo shook her head, worried.

“I didn't notice but your hair is long" You said absent minded.

“I told her I loved her hair. She's just a little shy about it yet". Kyoka poked her sides, making Momo laugh a bit.

You were a little pained.

“Listen we... Wanted to talk to you". Oh no. They figured out? Were they mad? Disgusted maybe? Maybe they won't talk to you ever again? “Don't worry, good things!” They must've seen your face of panic because they tried to calm you down. You took a deep breath and tried to sit down. Jirou helped you up and a pained whine was heard. “Must've been horrible huh?"

You nodded with a smirk on your thin lips. But you shrugged it out.

“We wanted to thank you" They smiled at you. “You were rooting from us since the beginning. You've helped us so much and we're grateful for being our friend, Y/N". You could only think of two things.

How the name came so naturally out of her mouth and how she called you a friend. Pain. That hurt you and if anyone heard your inside, they'd hear your heart cracking a bit more. But you liked the pain. Maybe you were a masochist.

“We love you”. They hugged you slightly. “Noy like a friend.” You gasped.

“Like a best friend?" you had to make sure. Not even in your wildest dreams would this happen. Maybe the anesthesia was kicking in.

“No, Y/N we love you” The emphasis made your heart squeeze. Your vision was cloudy and tears formed in your eyes. “We're sorry and we understand if you're disgusted by it but we love you. We want to be with you." You sobbed. Happy tears streamed down your face, your hands wrapped around them to secure them. As if they were going to scape any moment.

“Is this...” You hiccuped. “is this a joke?”

They laughed. Not a mean laugh. It was soft, reassurance in it.

“Would you like it to be a joke?" you shook your head hurriedly. A clear answer to them. They kissed your cheek and forehead.

“Now you can be rooting for us three instead of us two" Momo said softly as she placed a gentle kiss on your hand.

“I'll be in your care then. I'm rooting for us”

If it was a dream, which was not, you prayed to never wake up.

I very much enjoyed writing this down!

Fun fact: i can't write angst for shit. Unless i have a clear scenario in my head. So writing angst for this was hard.

i watched the entirety of total drama 2023 today, and here's how it went (spoilers below!) (no duh...):

got very, very, VERY emotionally attached to zee, laughed my ass off at most of his lines, absolutely adored every minute of him being on screen, and cringed when he announced he had joined both alliances, then got SUPER MAD at chris allowing the players to vote again. what bullshit

found bowie and raj's romance absolutely adorable, although cut a bit short, but they made up for it by bringing everyone back in the finale and having raj cheer for bowie so intensely! also, ADORED wayne and how supportive he was! he was absolutely adorable!!! and after being so into the many queer ships of the fandom, actually hearing the words 'gay' and 'bi' on total drama made me kind of tear up. that was adorable.

also, loved everyone, from wayne to chris and sharks being supportive of bowie and raj, but how much chris emphasized his hatred of emma and chase's relationship. i also hate them, by the way. emma was cool until folding all the way back for chase.

very mixed on ripper. on one side, he is annoying and one big fart joke, but on the other side, he seems like he could genuinely be sweet if he tried hard enough - or not at all! he didn't even want to help millie, but she still found him helpful when giving her advice on how to win priya over again!

weirdly enough, found no new ships except for rajbow. saw some people shipping priya and millie, as well as wayne and raj, but honestly - and this is VERY unusual for me to say - i think those two duos are way better off as platonic! of course, massive respect for those who ship them, they have some cute moments that i guess you could take for romantic if you wanted to, but they're not my style.

the whole goat thing was hilarious. the goats going >:O at bowie saying he has eaten and will eat goat again was just so good.

the pretty boys need to try to make it further, man. justice for caleb. a lot of eliminations were kind of unfair to me, actually, especially axel's, and for ripper i really felt like he could've gone another time. i've already mentioned zee. *sobs* zee............... he is the winner in my eyes. (is it obvious i have a favorite?) (i think it's bowie but zee is tying with him. zee <333)

i kind of disliked millie at the start but hearing her mini-speech about her own insecurities and thinking she's above everyone else...argh i kin her so hard stop she deserves the world.

chef? was actually interested?? in their safety??? up until the finale of course but i found that so weird

i screamed in shock and disappointment when bowie didn't win, but i kind of knew deep down inside they were bold enough to add an openly gay contestant, and although i was certain he would make it to the finale, i was expecting the win to go to priya because they wouldn't go much further than that. next season, though :')

i was very surprised with how major some of the roles were, and how insignificant others were! i feel like lauren, mk and nichelle were hyped up a lot, but i barely got attached to them, while i just saw one or two posts of priya and millie, and assumed they would not even make it to the final ten. i also thought some ships would have more interactions due to some fandom posts - nichelle and axel... the potential was THERE... but they barely got a WORD........

what i'm thinking for next season:

chase and emma break up all over again, but (HOPEFULLY.) this time it's for good, and emma and bowie get a chance to properly reunite and become friends again.

bowie and raj will also be an official couple, but because of that, i doubt chris would let them on the same team.

it would also be fun to see wayne on the same team as bowie, and not raj! bowie talks his ears off about how great raj is, and then wayne does the same (but platonically) and it's great. everyone hates them because all they hear about is raj, raj, raj.

caleb - please, please, god - makes it a bit further this time, and damien makes it to the final five! everyone is shocked, including him.

my ideal final five would be raj, wayne, bowie, zee, and damien, but i seriously doubt that would happen because they always keep things equal between the genders, so, for the sake of the next point, let's say it's raj, axel, zee, nichelle, and bowie.

my ideal elimination order would be:

mk ("we don't want you spying on us again, that's gross")

lauren (costs them the challenge because she got carried away being creepy)

caleb (the votes are rigged against him yet again, this time by julia! goddamn it julia)

ripper (his pride got in the way and cost them the challenge, but he managed to get a bit of redemption in the episodes he was in),

millie (too injured from a challenge to continue, urges priya to keep pushing forward)

julia (people get tired of her bullshit much quicker this time and vote her off before she can cause any more unwanted drama, but spoiler alert, bowie's still here, so you did nothing, guys)

chase (right after emma's major breakup with him! ouch.)

priya (takes it VERY. HARD.)

emma (the votes are rigged against her)

damien (he put up a good fight)

wayne ("WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYNEEEEEEEEEE" - raj)

nichelle (it is found out that she rigged the votes)

bowie ("BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEE" - raj).

the final three are raj, axel, and zee. raj has an alliance with wayne, bowie, emma and zee - zee joined because he wanted to make up for the last failed alliances - and so, raj and zee team up to get axel out (because they literally couldn't otherwise).

side note, bowie still got voted out because nichelle helped by rigging the votes from afar for axel. what the fuck.

so, for the first time in total drama history, the final two are of the same gender! lots of angry letters for that one.

it seems that zee has the win for a while - against all odds! - but, to make up for his boyfriend losing completely last time, raj takes the win, and splits the money between himself, wayne, and bowie! there's a remaining dollar in there somewhere, and zee's mad happy to get it. (raj actually gives him more, but that's between you and me.)

and that's it! i'm obviously very biased because i have favorites, other opinions are welcome if you wanna discuss :D

Hi, just wanted to ask will you be watching season 4 and what were your thoughts on both portwell and r*na's development? What about all of them as characters? I personally was rooting for r*na in season 1. But after watching most of season 2, I prefer portwell and probably won't watch season 3 after the mess they made. I'd have been okay with r*na if the narrative made sense but sorry to say Gina has been a "maybe" to Ricky. She picked the guy she wanted since S1, but she seems to forget he's not really deserving of her attention at all after he's blown her off and asked her for relationship advice knowing she liked him. Like come on do better girl.

i'll answer this as briefly and structured as i possibly can but i highly doubt it lmao. possible rant ahead (?)

okay so s4... i can't say that i won't tune in because essentially, i'm a huge sofia wylie fan. i've loved her since andi mack and everything she's ever put out with disney, i've watched (plus sge). and aside from that, the s4 plot (the whole og hsm movie reunion thing/wildcats being extras on the movie) is being hyped up a lot and i'm intrigued to see how that plays out. outside of the triangle, i love kourtney, carlos, ash, jet and maddox as characters. i'd probably just scroll thru hsmtmts twitter posts/tumblr tags to see the scenes/discourse/takes and use it to determine whether i'd watch or not. i've abandoned more shows (esp ongoing ones) than i have finished so... we'll see.

if you want me to be honest, gina is the reason i shipped portwell. in s1, the only person from the core four i truly rooted for was gina. i couldn't care less about ricky, nini and ej characters and plotlines (plus their weird 'love triangle'). i wouldn't call myself a rina in s1, but i was rooting for gina's character to be more vulnerable and possibly finding romance. she's this tough girl who's never really fit in because she had to move so much and i truly sympathized with her. in that homecoming scene with ricky, i actually did feel chemistry between them. now looking back, it's probably just sofia and joshua's acting that made that scene more that it actually was. but by the end of s1, it's clear rini was that season's endgame. i mean, the main plot of s1 was ricky being in the play to get nini back. i also believe they were going to be endgame if olivia hadn't left. and before anyone says s2 was filmed before driver's license and sour blew up, i know! but just think about it: with 'all i want' doing well and blowing up on tiktok the previous year and olivia working with a producer at interscope records (not under disney) for her new album since 2020, i think she was planning to move on to music before the script was written. hence ricky and nini's plotline for a 'final' breakup.

moving on to s2... in s2, i didn't like how in 2a gina's whole storyline was crying/pining over ricky who doesn't really reach out to her after the one exercise where gina rejects him. up to 205, i understood ricky might've been conflicted and confused about gina's feelings for him, he had his relatioship with nini and his family drama to worry about. but since that whole 'plane crash' scene pretty much checks out as a confession, it just didn't make sense for ricky to act the way he did in 205. after the whole "if you and i were dating..." thing he pulled, i could not ship rina at all. all the doors i had open for them, i shut. he was so out of line and so disrespectful. he only cared about nini in that scene (while also stepping over nini's boundaries about being in the play). and c'mon, this boy at least knows gina and him are at this weird stage where they aren't purely friends and there's feelings involved. so why would he say that? now, when i saw ej and gina's scene in the same episode, they got me immediately. and it all sort of aligned with their history and personalities—overconfident, 'anti-hero', ex-scheming partners. now that i think about it, i didn't like rina before i loved portwell. and portwell? well, i think they're neat. midgame ship this, plot device that, i don't really mind. i'm thankful for their development in 2b because it was a breath of fresh air for someone who loves and roots for gina. and ej grew on me, too. in s1 he was this straight up himbo disney villain for but in s2 he was given more dimension in his character, had relatable struggles and we were shown a more vulnerable and attentive side to him. my top reason for shipping pw is the fact they started becoming better people together and they got each other because of that. the whole 'new ej' and 'gina 2.0' thing was probably a happy accident, hence why tim didn't really dig further into that. but on the other hand, they're different in a lot of ways. gina wants to settle down in one place and ej doesn't know what he wants—we even find that he wants to break free from the mold his dad wants him to be. i wish that would be something they help each other out with—he is her constant and comfort and she's the person who grounds and challenges him. instead, it becomes a point where they fail (looking at you, s3!). and whether you are a rina/pw anti, there's no denying ej treated gina like a queen in s2. portwell in 205-210 will always have me by the neck. and even though 211 and 212 makes me recoil, i personally don't blame ej for tapping out from their date with the whole 'brother' thing. just like gina, he's scared of putting himself out there to get hurt.

now, s3. i like to joke about the fact that it didn't exist but honestly? minus the triangle, it was pretty entertaining and funny. i liked maddox's character a lot in particular, she reminds me of me. i loved that kourtney has a character arc. i love ej more after watching s3, he's become one of my fav characters. now, i don't know if i'll get booed for this by the pws but i wish pw would have not been a couple while gina is still in hs. not because of the whole age gap thing (which is ridiculous), but i genuinely think they'd suit that bff-to-lovers slow burn. thank god i have tsbu because the way tsbu!pw plays out is exactly how i imagined it would be. but alas, we see portwell deteriorate in s3. and ofc it was painful to witness but less so because they felt off to me. they weren't really the s2 pw i knew and loved. trust me i don't say this bc they broke up, i say it's the lack of banter and moments of vulnerability (which they should have more of bc they're a couple here!). also the ej caswell i know would've broken the rules and took gina as a date, honestly. like, he literally gave a girl food poisoning so he can star in a show with nini. now, i do believe that gina and ej being in different phases of their lives was a good reason for their breakup, she's got 2 years of hs left and his world is getting bigger than just hs. i mean, like i said before, i wished they'd have that two-year, slow-burn best friends-to-lovers arc. my biggest problem with ej and gina's story was the execution. there were hundreds of ways to write them being right person/wrong time and they'd still mean a lot to each other etc. i'd actually be okay with them ending. but with the whole 'i can't be a maybe anymore' and 'can it really be over, if it never got the chance to start?' rubs me the wrong way. it's like tim really wanted everyone to see that ej is at fault here (despite whatever tim's saying in interviews) when he's doing all of this so his girlfriend and his friends would 1) have a great summer in this place that's really important to him and 2) have this great opportunity to be on disney+, which is a huge deal. specifically, for gina, he wanted to make a good show bc we all know how much finally being casted as a lead is important to her. ej could've just walked away, given up and let this thing fall into shambles, but he didn't. it didn't just cost him time with gina, it costed him his whole summer. it was all weird writing for me. and as for rina? firstly, i find it odd that the rinas were rooting for gina emotionally cheating on ej. even sofia said that gina's not that type of girl and she genuinely wanted her and ej to work. personally, i didn't find ricky pining for gina cute at all. ik a lot of people see it as a parallel for season 2a when gina secretly pines over ricky while he's still with nini. but the context here is different now, isn't it? gina never received a confession (or any sort of sign ricky wanted to be around her) before she got with ej. in fact, ricky was busy with lily and was close enough with her to spend summer with her and her parents in florida?? like i don't know, it just feels like ricky's feelings stemmed out of nowhere which made it seem shallow and not the epic love tim is pushing it to be. again, sofia and josh are great actors, the wdykal scene had so much chemistry but it was just that. the context/history of rina is extremely shallow to me. they needed val to say 'yup, he's genuinely heartsick' instead of just letting josh's acting show it. another thing i should mention is the instances where ricky was so passive-aggressive about ej and gina. the part where jet ran off and they needed a hans to sing liaod with anna (gina), he was going to volunteer to step in because he had feelings for her and was visibly pissed off when cordon told ej to sub for jet. and there's ricky slapping ej, which was an ick moment bc it made him seem entitled rather than badass.

lastly, that one shot of him finding out nini was at camp? "nini's here?" yeah? that one scene had more emotional fuel than ricky spending the whole two weeks max crushing on gina. it sort of set back the whole rina development, i have to say it.

speaking of nini, her sendoff wasn't as satisfying as i expected it to be. in s3, i'd prefer it if she moved to california because she got a record deal or something? since s3 was already so meta, that would've been much better than her moving out to cali because her moms wanted to. back to s1, i feel like she was your stereotypical shy, main character with the usual 'gaining confidence' arc and that arc was sort of boring and overdone for me. but in s2 i really enjoyed her branching out to songwriting and stepping side to help out others. plus, i think people skip over how awful ricky was to her as well. first, he takes a break and feels entitled to get her back and second, he genuinely started suffocating the poor girl in s2. well, at least he realized it, though. again, when people say rini was toxic, it's really just ricky. nini did nothing wrong in s1-2. i don't think the rose song was even about ricky, he just made it into something it wasn't supposed to be. i sincerely hope ricky loses this behaviour in s4.

anyway! end of rant. these are just my thoughts. if anyone agrees or disagrees, it's up to them. i genuinely hope gina is happy next season, bc before i was a pw stan i was a gina stan (even though she was a little ooc in s3). if it means rina being happy, i won't be so mad. at the end of the day, this is just a silly disney show and it’s all for entertainment. i do love portwell but i rather tim never touch them again, honestly. canon pw is already ruined for me, though i wouldn't mind a proper portwell closure scene in s4.

that was a lot more words than i expected lmaoo, but if anyone read all of that, cool! if not, that's cool, too. it was very cathartic.

everybody is so hyped for only friends and I think I am too but I am also scared? because it is way too hyped, it can't live up anymore? And I know many people look forward to the red flags and all but I do enjoy a healthy relationship like aye and akk, but I am still looking forward to it but also I am very scared. And like i need my happy ends lol and I want first and khaos character to end up together just because they have an insane amount of chemistry.. I don't know. I am scared.

personally. my dreams for sanray is like….. san (who is, according to first, very forthright abt his feelings) leaves as we see in the trailer bc he’s sick of being second place to smth that’ll never happen, and then ray gets in trouble / needs bail or whatever and san comes to help him despite everything and ray apologizes (per khao saying he grows a lot) and they try again, for real this time, as scary as that may be. and also san should fuck other people to bother ray in the early days im a big ship mixnmatch advocate. like haha if we’re just fwb then this shouldnt bother you :’) but it does of course it does. i WANT that longing look across the club that you know youre not supposed to be giving dynamic

I hate the modernity in 2019 little women. It's fine if you're doing a bridgerton or Dickinson type of thing. But in little women it just feels wrong.

Like how jo and laurie are so touchy.

Or how it the scene where meg twists her foot at the ball and they bring her home, jo starts to strip down her clothes right in front of him. And marmee is all like, call me mother! Mind you, this is the first time laurie has met all of them.

None of it is time appropriate. I won't talk about the costumes or loose hair cause it has already been covered by costume reviewers on youtube. (The movie did NOT deserve the oscar for costumes.)

Also, am I the only one who doesn't like the casting in this movie?!

Saoirse Ronan is fine. She's no Winona Ryder but that's okay.

Florence is an excellent actress but with her heavy voice it absolutely took me out of the moment whenever she played a 12 year old amy. It just looked like a fully grown adult woman, in a child's frock, acting like a child.

Timothee chalamet was meh. Or more correctly, the writing for laurie was meh. And he does not look like a father of a child at the end of the movie.

Laura Dern. I think she was good but the writing failed her at times. There was no gravitas to her character. She was too smiley. And too modern.

Emma Watson feels like emma watson in all her roles.

Rest of the characters, beth, professor bhaer... utterly forgettable.

Also it's my personal view that little women as a story works best in a linear format. It's a journey you go on with the girls and see them grow in more ways than one. Which is why the back and forth between childhood and adulthood was lost on me.

I think the modernity is jarring to me because it is so so intentional. Like it is screaming LIKE ME BECAUSE I'M HYPE AND MODERN. And at that point, make it a modern day version. But Sony wanted not modern day version, no, Sony wanted juicy juicy American classic period drama cash grab! This, in my opinion, explains many, many things about this movie. The weird meta non meta ending, Jo is asexual but she's also devastated that she cannot marry Laurie, yay girlboss Amy but also you should like her because she cannot be liberated like Jo, etc, etc, etc.

I agree with your assessment of the characters, mostly. I actually think Ronan would have been a far better casting for Amy and Pugh for Jo. There's a heaviness of presence and a matter-of-factness to Florence Pugh that Saoirse Ronan utterly lacks (her efforts at appearing rough and careless remind me of this:

But all that sort of ethereal yet sharp vibe that Amy has? would have suited well (and she's a natural blonde too!)

But. You know. Greta ships Saorise/Timothee, I guess.

I also very much liked Eliza Scanlen as Beth. She was given very little to work with, but she left an impression on me (we can debate till tomorrow if the characterization was right, but that's another matter).

I actually think Little Women can be done in altered timeline; the 2018 modern movie, IMO, did it well. It took as pivotal element the castles in the air (the dreams the sisters and Laurie have as teenagers and who they think they will be in a decade), focused on Jo as the main narrative pov (a story built on flashbacks needs someone to be the one reminiscing the past, generally speaking, we don't talk about Tenet), and kept working on how the past shaped the present, and how it can also bring a light on the way to the future. The problem with the way 2019 does the altered timeline is that it is unfocused and meandering. It doesn't know why it is going back and forth between past and present. In this movie it is just a gimmick because Christopher Nolan does it, I guess, and that makes his movies masterpieces or something. Some of the transitions are forced and hackneyed (from Beth's recovery to Beth's death) and others are just... random (from a sleeping Amy to a sleeping Beth).

the first show i watched with sjk was DOTS and honestly...i didn't get the hype. I got into kdramas with CLOY and my heart belonged to Hyun bin before i discovered jung hae in and others later. I found myself caring way more about the second leads and the bromance in dots and honestly neither sjk nor song hye kyo made an impact on me with their characters/acting. Sjk was playing a classic cocky male lead who was written a little too clichéd for my taste. I like my clichés a little off the mark.

But anyway, fast forward a few years and netflix pitches me space sweepers to watch. And I'm blown away. The acting, the writing, the fun ensemble cast. Brilliant. And then comes Vincenzo. AND THERE IT WAS, that i surrendered completely. The writing, the acting, the chemistry between the ml and fL MY GOD, everything off the charts!! It had me shipping them off screen and I've only done this with binjin in the past. I cannot. Joongki has soared to my top five without even me knowing. What a guy. He's been killing it in reborn rich and proving everyone who said he couldn't do serious roles with his baby face, wrong. And i am SOOOO here for it.

This same thing happened with me when i watched start-up too. seonho completely escaped my radar. I mean i loved his acting and his chemistry with halmeoni (it made me bawl) but i never was on the "second lead deserved the girl" squad. Then in 2021 i started homcha because of my girl shin min-a (my venus of daegu, I'd kill for her) and turns out im smothered, absolutely drowning in hots and love for kim seon ho. And now he is sitting cozily in my heart with that crown. There's something about me and discovering my love for oppas the second time around, hehe.

I am loving joongki in reborn rich (except the forceful fizzled chemistry). I love slow burns and i relished those in vincenzo and stranger. This...whatever this is, is not slow burn. It's mostly cringe and romance written just for the sake of it. It's unfair to both the actors and the audience. About to start ep 11 now and cannot wait to see where this rollercoaster of a revenge drama takes us all.

The Legendary Life of Queen Lau (2022, my first cdrama, damn the ppl who brought this one down, will probably rewatch because now I get more about the cdrama tropes they subvert, Li Jiaqi hopefully will get more main roles despite this debacle)

Love Between Fairy and Devil (2022, tumblr loves it for good reason, so good, well written and gorgeous costumes and scenery, I laughed, I cried, I shaked my fist at communication failures, learned to like Yu Shuxin's voice, who doesn't like a story about a demon lord who lost all his emotions and regains them with the help of a cute fairy, cultivation in several senses xD, some songs made it to my spotify 100 most played songs of 2022 list, will rewatch now that it is on Netflix)

Word of Honor (2021, the hype has a reason it is so goood, started out not liking WKX, how the tables turned, hahahaha, side characters who rock, morally grey main characters yay, "A'Shuuuu", you don't need on screen kisses to feel the love, character dump was confusing as hell, somehow missed that WKX is also boss of Ghost Valley in the beginning bc of that. 🤣🙈 Taught me to rewatch the first episode a little bit into the drama to actually get what's going on when there are a lot of characters.)

Old Fashion Cupcake (2022, my first jdrama, cute office romance about finding joy in life again, will make you hungry)

The Rational Life (2021, watch it if you want soft, caring, loyal WH but it is actually about Qin Lan's character overcoming bullying at work and being a model employee in a car company (and promoting e-cars 😄), could have been shorter)

The Blue Whisper (2022, wrecked me with all the suffering but so good and pretty, Ren Jialun going from cutiepie to badass, rocking his ear jewellery, red flags but you ship them anyway, Diliraba and Guo Xiao Ting, another talk it out already yelling at the screen drama, going from hating SML and his attendand to pitying them, LuoLuo 🫶, side characters you will root for, some songs made it to my spotify 100 most played songs of 2022 list, story is by the author who wrote LbFaD, not set in the same universe)

The Romance of Tiger and Rose (2020, Zhao Lusi the Queen, much needed comedy after TBW, loved it, nothing like a writer caught in her own badly written drama world trying to rewrite it while the rules of the world she wrote fight against the rewrites. Su Mu and First Lady just needed to talk to each other aaaargh)

Who rules the World (2022, find yourself a person who looks at you like Hei Fengxi looks at Bai Fengxi, geez Yang Yang, Zhao Lusi is a delight in this, they wrote the two lead characters too perfect??, draws you in with wuxia, gives you a lot of palace drama, including emo first prince who deserved more screen time but they ran out of ideas for him, Writing, editing and fight scenes got worse in the 2nd half of the drama, I guess because the director had to leave, needed to give more side characters a life, the sismance is perfect)

The Untamed (2019, watching to be finished in 2023, I was intimidated by the amount of characters and episodes so only started watching late in the year and am glad I waited because now I know wuxia storytelling better and can fully enjoy it, taught me that you don't need great cgi, sets or fight scenes to tell a compelling story, Wang Yibo 🥹, Xiao Zhan 😼, great side characters)

Semantic Error (2022, my first kdrama, watched it because of this and was not disappointed, enemies to lovers at university, cute quick watch)

The Blood of Youth (2022/2023, just started, the character dump is a lot but it is a romp so far, despite the kinda choppy writing/editing, also geez Youku those youtube subtitles are too fast for my tired eyes)

As someone who enjoys series/movies like the UK North and South, Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice, etc, where a small touch or little gestures can already be a big deal, slow burn romances in cdrama fit me perfectly. (The barbie kisses are something to get used to though. Props to Wang Hedi and Yu Shuxin who went for organic kisses once the feelings hit their characters.)

Things that aren't working on GH right now (for me of course😉

Fiz: Mainly because Finn is a boundaries crossing asshole who beefed with 14/15yr olds until proven wrong. Liz doesn't deserved to be stuck with sl and pairing. Bless her.

Cody bell aka: Truck nuts. Rodeo clown. Stinky horse man. Stable baby. Enough said.

CarSona: Carly vs Nina is old and stale. Sona are having the same talk about their relationship in circles. Repetitive dialogue all around. Just reunite CarSon's toxic asses. I'm over it.

Drew: Drew's characterization is off so it doesn't even feel like drew. Liked him at first but then they quickly made him a Jason stand in because Carly needed a hand to hold as usual.

Crew: Everything about them feels forced. Drew forgave her so quickly because they didn't want Carly and drew to have any conflict but they should've let them have conflict for the sake of ✨drama✨. We should seen drew resenting her for dropping him so quickly for Jason and she should've worked to be back in his good graces. I wouldn't have shipped it still because I don't ship anyone with Carly but I would've been like "okay I see why people ship it.🤷"

Auxie and Austin's sl: Auxie have negative chemistry. Like I rather see spixie reunite and I don't particularly care for that pairing anymore.🥴 Austin's sl doesn't intrigue me. It's boring.

Spinelli's sl: Why is this his sl? Honestly who cares about Cody blackmailing spinelli over how he gets his info for the dating app. Honestly the whole sl could've stayed in the drafts.

Michael's revenge: His vendetta against sonny isn't intriguing because nothing is really happening. The sl isn't moving. Like Mikey move your plan along or stfu.🙈Only good thing we've gotten out of this is Dex.🥴

Alexis x Gregory: alexis and Gregory aren't giving me anything. Honestly instead of fiz they should've tried Alexis x Finn again (back when I didn't hate Finn). Or gave her another problematic bf because let's be real Alexis and toxic men go great together.🙈

Sasha's spiral: Sofia is a great crier but enough is enough. Sasha's character is being tortured and it's so depressing to see because they won't let up on heaping misery on her.

Millow: I mean y'all knew it was going to be on the list and I've posted too many times over the past years about how they don't work for me. All I'm going to say is TreeJ needs to rise up 😂

Rorina: Rory is a non character. We only know that he's a cop who makes brownies, will only spend 50 cents on you for a soda, and will put his badge above you and snitch on your mama. Y'all I was so hyped for this love triangle because I actually wanted someone who could compete against Spencer for Trina's heart and yet we got Rory instead.😒 (It should've been Dex or cam🙈)

Jex: No chemistry. I didn't fuck with Caoss because they had no chem and looked like siblings and won't ship Jex for that same reason.🤷

Josslyn: I try so hard to like her but maybe I should just accept that I don't.😂 She has her moments where I go "lol, Joss your right." But otherwise she's just not my cup of tea.

Olivia: She is utterly annoying about this Nina mess. I can understand she's mad on Carly's behalf but why won't the writers have her be mad on Dante's and Rocco's behalf? That makes way more sense than her hate for Nina being wrapped up in her loyalty for Carly.

Nikolas: I want the man dead and gone, oh but no before the whole town finds out he slept with Esme. I need him dragged and I need for Esme to pop up pregnant and make his life truly miserable then he can "die". Also because Marcus coloma really showed us he doesn't have the range.

Chalynn: This hurt my soul to put them on the list but it's the Truth that their not working. It's not for a lack of chemistry but because of the writing. The PG 13 writing for them sucks and they deserve better.

Sidenote: I'm thinking about making what is working for me list and I just know it's going to be short.😂

Willow's sl: The only way I'll care if we get more tj x willow moments. Willow's sl isn't even her sl it's Carly's and Nina's. Girl got leukemia just for it to be revealed that Nina is her mom and Carly knew the whole time. More fuel for the boring ass feud.🙄

Kristina not having a sl and just being their to prop people. Give her a sl!!!!

Hey guys. I am sorry for not being really on these past months and I have to be honest here:

I probably won't be really online untill some new about Winds. (Unhappily this can take forever as we know George loves to do everything but write his damm books)

The reason is quite simple: I have been into a lot of new fandoms recently. Some of them are news, anothers are quite old.

And the main reason is: I can't stand this fandom anymore.

I am not someone who really get involved in bs, or fandom drama. You guys know I don't like Sans@, much less her stans. And the toxicity here is too much, basically, I am done with ignorant people blaming a 9yrs old girl, and anothers who are harrassing people online with serious acusations because they enjoy certain character or ship. I also don't like the way everyone behaves because of fictional characters. Myself included.

Long story short: I am taking a break.

I've met a lot of incredible, talentuos people here. And this will remain with me. These moments, and everything I've learned.

The answer is: No. My account will be here, activated. I will reblog edits, analyses, opinions, answer anons that I believe deserve to be answered, etc, etc. Maybe one post or two that are mine, the moodboards I quite like to do. Just not very often. It is sad to say, but I am not hyped, what is a pity, since I wanted to participate the Arya month. I was just.... without any motivation, nor creativity to make anything related to asoiaf.

So yes. This is not a goodbye, but more like a "See you soon".

GKD Here! As hyped as I am for ToS to release on a Nintendo system again, I am not excited about the price tag getting ramped up to $60 again and I am doubly not excited that they not only DIDN'T bring DotNW with it, they're also co-opting the Japanese DotNW hashtag (ToS-R has largely been the JP fandom way to refer to DotNW because it's called "Knight of Ratatosk originally) So like. I am hyped because this makes it way more convenient to play, and if I have spare money after BotW2 (now named "Tears of the Kingdom") I will probably shell out for Symphonia Remastered. But at the same time, we still have no PC port for DotNW, no OVA, every game that has given us access to the DotNW cast either gets the ENG servers shut down or has always been region locked outside of USA, and just... I'm still sad about DotNW not getting the attention it deserves despite being wrenched out of "Escort Title" jail. Also, as my partner pointed out last night/this morning, ToS getting more accessible means we're getting a new generation of fans. Which is great because more fan content and more attention potentially going to DotNW but... It also means rehashing old fandom dramas. Raging infighting over whether Zelos and Kratos are good people or not, people getting mad over sexism because Zelos has an EX skill that lets him get free stuff from female NPCs, shipping drama. Not to mention new attention on DotNW is probably going to mean a new wave of people getting mega butthurt that DotNW dares to open by implying maybe Lloyd is a bad guy? Even though anyone with any reading comprehension would realize that the DotNW Lloyd is either a faker, something else weird is happening, or that the player is the bad guy and WE'RE playing the ANTAGONIST. Like, I know DotNW had minor "character assassinations" because, surprise, the main cast changed a bit in the two year gap between the first and second game. But, like, not excited for DotNW to be under fire by fans again. Then again, that's mostly a me problem. Rejection sensitive dysphoria. ADHD brain hears criticism of a game I like and makes wild assumptions "Ah, now everyone thinks you have bad taste because you like this game. Now complete strangers hate you. And if anyone ever at all hates you, that means you're a worthless failure!" Haha, so yeah. ADHD gremlin brain needs to shut the fuck up. But yes! Excited to play ToS again. Decidedly NOT excited for fandom drama, a new expensive price tag, and probably more DotNW hate.
