yandere!azul ashengrotto x (gender neutral) reader cw: yandere, unhealthy behaviors/relationship, nsfw, phone sex, obsession, power imbalance, kidnapping, implied (cyber)stalking, non-con touching, characters written as 18+ note - sea witch, the magicord mod you've had intimate online relations with, is closer than you thought.
Sea Witch is a busy man.
His weekly schedules are almost always packed to bursting, each event meticulously arranged into open slots as if aiming to form a perfect puzzle. Times never conflict; he’s particular about how he spends his hours, and very rarely does he allow himself a break. It has always been work, work, work. He’s one of the city’s most affluent, eligible bachelors and yet he’s married to his business. Those who lust after him think it’s a wasteful shame. Azul finds it to be a relief far greater than any he’s ever known. He will never compromise the enterprise he’s built from the ground up just because of some flimsy, fickle feelings.
Originally, he had no interest in Magicord, a messaging platform that grants people from all over the world the chance to congregate on specific servers for mutual interests like anime and gaming. He only downloaded it because Idia Shroud, a fellow friend and business partner, lived and breathed the app, his online presence so profound it was almost like a second home. He’d swipe away notifications from his actual messaging app, too busy in a voice call with his group of dungeon raiders to bother answering important calls.
So he resolved to get on Idia’s level in hopes of improving communication. Although Idia’s level, as Azul often noted, was not exactly a place he wanted to be. While Magicord could be used for business purposes, that wasn’t what drew people in. Azul of all people knew very well which target audiences were being reached with apps like Magicord, and he was not one of them.
“To think I’d stoop as low as this,” Azul had once groused over a phone call with Idia, who was giving him quite a lengthy, not-very-needed-but-also-very-much-needed rundown on Magicord’s inner workings. “I hardly have time to play games, let alone socialize on this…app.”
“Aren’t you always going on about how adaptable you are?” Idia sniped back, not in the mood for normie criticism. The sound of clacking keys could be heard on his end. “And you’re the one who asked. Kinda defeats the purpose of learning if you’re just gonna complain.”
Azul rolled his eyes. “I fail to see the logic in downloading another app just to ensure my messages reach you. Honestly, you ought to start checking your email. Or, at the very least, go through your missed call and text logs.”
Alas, Idia had been stubbornly adamant about his preferences and so, much to his displeasure, Azul was forced to undergo something of a Magicord Training Camp until he emerged a pro. And being a pro meant knowing how to navigate his own profile and toggle between that and Idia’s, which was really the only tip he needed because that was all he’d use the app for.
But Azul has always had an innate itch for wanting to know something from top to bottom, inside-out, and the idea of not knowing every little detail about Magicord drove him insane. If there was an opportunity he could capitalize on, why should he risk squandering it with his elementary-level knowledge? So he spent his rare slivers of free time playing around in there, creating a server and wondering who could ever become so attached to an app when the world beyond the screen was filled with just as many, if not more, social encounters.
His introverted side understood the appeal. In fact, he loved the idea of hiding behind a manufactured persona online. He didn’t have to be Azul Ashengrotto on Magicord. Rather, he could rid himself of his dislikable traits and become an entity—an idea or a concept—rather than a flawed man who others might scrutinize ruthlessly.
So he became Sea Witch, and within just a week he’d constructed quite the comfortable server. The invite link was spread throughout the various branches of Mostro. It would provide employees with an online sanctuary, where they could easily connect should doing so in person prove complicated (as had been the case regarding Idia, which was the sole reason he’d even poured so much time into this effort). Most of all, it gave Azul the chance to keep watch from afar, silently sitting in wait and curating a collection of mostly unimportant intel. Mere gossip, if anything.
But gossip is just as good as the next scandal. He likes to be prepared, a razored edge on all sides.
As far as the company was concerned, no one knew who this Sea Witch character was and no one knew who spread the link. And as far as individual employees knew, this was likely just some overworked intern’s labor of love—a well-crafted server intended to function as a digital gathering place for those exhausted after a long day. And that was mostly true, but all of the potential blackmail he could gather, the information he could glean, and even the people he could keep a closer eye on in an online setting—all of that paled in comparison to the real prize he’d attained. This was of great importance. It was something that altered the course of his life, opened his eyes to the brilliant beauty of a first love.
It was there in that undersea-themed haven where he met you, the one who would add flavorful spice to the once bland, boring meal that was his life. And just after a few weeks of simple, cordial conversation, he realized a single taste of your kind companionship wouldn’t be enough to sate him.
Greedy to a fault, Azul wanted you in your entirety.
Which brings him to the present, where he’s currently leaning back into the expensive leather of his driver’s seat. He’s parked on a silent strip of road, in a more residential part of the city. It’s not very busy here, and his windows are tinted to avoid immediate recognition. Rush hour won’t hit until later, and he’s not due for any conferences. He has time. Plenty of it to spare on this little excursion.
“I wanna meet you, Sea Witch,” you admit, nearly whining through the phone. “Where’re you from? Maybe we’re in the same area.”
Azul smiles at your impatience. You just can’t get enough of him, can you?
Every weekend, you hop into a VC with him and chat for hours on end. At first he simply provided a listening ear when you wished to rant through text or call. You’d voice all sorts of complaints. Azul filed them away in the event that they might be useful in the future, initially intending to use such information to ruin you should you prove to be someone worth ruining. But the more he spent listening and scrawling notes on blank paper, the more he realized you were just overworked and struggling financially.
Upon making these connections and learning all sorts of facts from you regarding your life beyond Magicord, he felt compelled to help. Out of the goodness of his heart, of course, ever the benevolent saint. And you weren’t complaining when he offered to pay you for your time. In exchange for two hours of conversation, he’d provide you with the funds you needed to afford your necessities.
Somehow, throughout many months of give and take—with his giving being on the jaw-droppingly exorbitant side, always one to top his own ludicrous generosity—your hours-long conversations would sink beneath the surface of mere companionship. It was one-sided intimacy. Azul was careful with what he shared, building a mostly secretive profile for himself. He didn’t want to risk tarnishing your fondness for Sea Witch by sharing details that felt more like Azul and less like the effortlessly funny, charming, and eloquent Magicord mod you’d originally made contact with.
You didn’t seem to worry about compromising your own privacy, easily divulging a variety of fun tidbits about your life. You’d share the tiniest of details and he’d eat it up every time, hungering for more than just crumbs. That time you sent him a photo of the octopus macarons you’d bought from a local bakery because you were thinking of him? He remembers it well, and he’s constantly reminded of it when you text him about things you did over the weekend or hobbies you basked in. Sending photos of your houseplants, asking him for his opinion on clothes you were hoping to buy (which he was always more than willing to sponsor; all you needed to do was send the link and he’d purchase it), and even trusting him enough to fall asleep in the VC with him (arguably one of his favorite things about your unique relationship).
And he called it unique not because it was a bad sort of strange. Rather, it was unique in the refreshing sense. He’d never had an online friend before, let alone someone who would so willingly and readily indulge him. Granted, this willingness stemmed from the deal he’d cut with you and so you were really only doing these things for your own gain. But then so was he. It was a relationship built upon necessity. You needed money to survive, and he needed you.
So it was okay to fall into sleazy fantasies. It was all an act anyway, and it wasn’t like you judged him or his preferences. At least, not outright. If you did, it was silent. You were considerate and sweet; and you really did consider him a friend. Or so he hoped. If your casual conversations were any proof, it was obvious there was some sort of enjoyment and trust there.
Friendship or something more, he would have you. Whether that meant in the safety of his pocket, enclosed within his mobile phone forever, or in his penthouse, tucked away in his bedroom—he’d have you.
“I’m from a city, yes,” he answers, purposely cryptic.
“Obviously. Come onnn, Witchy. Don’t you wanna meet me, too?”
“I do, and one day we’ll meet. I promise.”
He listens to your irritated groan and his cock twitches in his slacks. Good god, your voice is a blessing—more heavenly than a cherubic choir.
“One day isn’t today, though.”
“Perhaps not.” He speaks to distract you from the rustling fabric of his pressed suit as his hand strays further. He spies his reflection in the rearview mirror, notes the flash in his irises. If only you were here, sitting beside him in the passenger seat. If only he could slide his own seat as far back as it would go, lie still and serene, and let you climb into his lap to spear yourself on his erection. Genuine leather be damned. He wanted your scent, your essence, your everything engraved into the very interior. “Humor me—if we were to meet right now, what would you like to do?”
“Mm, I’d want to get a good look at the man I’ve been talking to for nine months now.”
“Oh, you’ve kept track?”
“You haven’t?” Your laughter is fluffy and light—authentic amusement. “And I’d want to memorize your face so that I’ll never forget it.”
“May I ask why?”
“Because I’m so curious! You know what I look like—”
“Not entirely,” he interjects, sly and silver-tongued. “You’re a portrait half-finished in my mind. Not yet sketched to completion.”
And it’s true. From your shoulders down, you are a faceless beauty. He’s seen you nearly naked and fully clothed, in frills and lace, in latex and ribbons, in satin and chiffon. And yet, for all of the skin you’ve shown, he can’t place a face (or a real name, for that matter) to your body.
“Okay, poet,” you tease, and he’s already palming himself through the fine fabric of his trousers. “But I’ve still never seen an inch of you. You’ve never even sent a dick pic.”
“You’ve never asked.”
“Can I have one now?”
“Nice try.”
“Asshole!” you gripe, clicking your tongue in disappointment. “You’re the worst, you know that?”
“I’m aware,” he hums, squeezing himself, his breath coming out faint and haggard.
Yeah, he’s the worst. But then you’re the best at eliciting these sorts of reactions from him. The effect you have on him is utterly enthralling. Your ability to reduce him to a pliable puddle in just a few words—a mere few lighthearted, hollow insults—is truly impressive. He’d feel ashamed of himself if it wasn’t so good.
“You’re probably not even that big.”
“Would you like an exact measurement?”
“Wouldn’t it be better to measure it in person? See how many inches I could fit inside. I’ve been practicing with that dildo you sent me—the one shaped like a tentacle,” you purr, frustratingly coy. He wants your sinful lips wrapped around his dick right now—wants to fuck your throat sore and raw. Wants nothing more than to spill heavy and hot on your tongue so you’ll taste him for days. “If we met up, we could make that happen. Sooo, where’s my Sea Witch from? What part of the world?”
“Patience, angelfish.”
Even though he says so, he’s practically vibrating with excitement as he worries his bottom lip between his teeth. Soon. So soon. Very, very soon.
And then…
He imagines you rolling your eyes with your next words. “Fine, fine. I’ll be patient. But that’s not gonna stop me from fantasizing.”
“Well, what do you think I look like?”
“Now isn’t that a fun question?” You mull it over. He can tell because you mutter a variety of ums and hmms in that soft, sweet voice of yours. “I think you’re tall and you have a handsome face that matches your equally handsome voice.”
“Yeah?” he encourages, undoing the belt, button, and zip on his pants one-handed. “What else?”
Your giggles filter into his ears, seeming closer than they actually are due to the wireless earbuds he’s wearing. “From what I’ve gathered, you seem to have expensive tastes.”
Sitting in his lavish, one-of-a-kind, custom-made sports car, Azul thinks you would be correct.
“I wonder what gave it away…” he drawls, his voice creeping an octave lower.
He places his phone in the cup holder, reaching to open the glove compartment and retrieving a tiny bottle of lube. Squirting a scant amount on his palm, he fishes himself, throbbing and pathetically hard, out of his boxers. His slick hand is a warm, welcome embrace around his silky-smooth shaft. He sucks in a breath through grit teeth, his eyes fluttering shut.
“Mhm, I wonder. It’s not the fact that you told me I should just buy a designer bag for work when I asked for recommendations. And it’s certainly not your ability to get me lots of nice gifts as if it’s nothing. So maybe it’s just your excessive generosity that makes you seem so rich?”
“Sure, we’ll go with that.”
“Speaking of that, what do you do for a living?”
“Guess.”
“Okay, Mr. Mysterious… Um… Hm. I think you’re a pilot.”
The whiplash that assumption brings is so seismically jarring he thinks he might go flaccid. Gripping himself with renewed vigor, he slides his fist along his length, slow and perfunctory, picturing you under his desk, your mouth open wide to receive him…
“A pilot… Mm, no, not quite.”
“Aw. My second guess was gonna be a contract killer. They make lots of money.”
“You have quite the wild imagination, angelfish. Even if I was one, do you think I’d admit that to you?”
“Maybe,” you tease. He pictures your smirk as it twists your perfect, pretty lips into something wicked. “For the right price, yeah?”
“Oh? Do elaborate.”
Please. Please keep going. Don’t stop talking. I need to hear you, closer, louder, clearer… More.
“What sort of price would I have to pay to get Sea Witch to spill his secrets?” you muse, your voice a tantalizing curl of syllables, but he suspects you already know the answer to your hypothetical. “I can’t offer you money, so you’d have to settle for something a little more…physical.”
He shivers, nodding his agreement even though you can’t see it. “Physical’s good,” he mumbles, foregoing eloquence in favor of filth. “Much better than—mm—than money…”
“Yeah? All right. Let’s see… You’re well-off and you might or might not be a contract killer. Do you wear suits?”
“I do.”
“Ooh, so you’re one of those contract killers.”
Azul can’t help it; he laughs, the sound tumbling out in a breathy gasp. “I prefer looking nice at all times.”
Languidly, his hand continues its idle pumping. He cracks his eyes open to peer at the pre-cum beading at the tip.
“Even if you’re just going to get messy?”
“Explicate the situation that’s leading me to soil my clothes. Details, angelfish.”
“Well, if you’re a killer who wears suits, you wouldn’t like even the smallest stain. It ruins your image, but if it was me…” You pause, probably for effect, and it works. His back arches with anticipation, fingers closing tighter. “You’d make an exception.”
“I would,” he admits far too quickly. “Always.”
“So you really would out yourself as a killer if I spread my legs for you?”
“No, but I’d let you dirty my suits.”
“Good. They’ll look better on the floor anyway.”
His breath hitches. Fuck, your every word is a siren’s song, leading him deeper into mist-clouded waters. He’d keep you pinned on his cock all day if he could. Why should you continue to work your mundane job when you could spend your precious hours with him instead? He’ll be your job. Seven days a week, during each of the breaks he’ll pencil into his schedules, you can visit him and he can empty all of his stress into you. And you’ll take it because you’re such an obedient sweetheart for him, always so ready to please your master.
He prays you can’t hear the salacious squelch of skin on skin as he works himself towards the edge, but a nastier part of him wants you to listen in so you’ll be reminded that this is your fault. No one else can possibly make him this messy. No one else is capable of rendering him a clumsy, lovestruck fool. You’re probably well aware of these facts, having brought him to this same edge numerous times in the past. Sometimes you would reach that tipping point alongside him, your gasps and groans joining his in an obscene duet.
Neither of you decided upon today’s development, but he thinks—knows—you’re intentionally stringing him along. You want this as much as he does.
“So was I right? You’re totally a contract killer?”
“I’m a businessman, angelfish,” he corrects, a silly, drunken smile softening his jaw. You make him feel so stupid, so warm and fond.
“So basically the same thing. Just as ruthless, no?”
“Please, you wound me. I’m always kind.”
“Ah, so there are others who get this treatment? And I thought I was the only one…”
“You are. No one could ever compare to you.”
He intends to tack my love onto the sentence’s end, but he stops himself. You’re not his love. Not really. You’re his angelfish, sure, but that’s different. That’s just a pet name befitting the aquatic theme he masquerades behind. And you’re not really Azul’s. You’re Sea Witch’s.
It’s Sea Witch you know and love. Beyond that, Azul is just Azul. And he’s nothing like the ideal he’s cultivated on Magicord.
He sighs and forces himself out of the turbulent trenches of his withering self-esteem. Now is not the time to contemplate which version of himself you’d be more preferential to.
You’ll have no choice but to love the real him. Soon.
“Really? I feel so special.” Impressed, you whistle and add, “I’ve gotta make you feel special, too.”
“You already have—”
“Not inside the VC. Come on, Sea Witch, don’t you wanna meet me?”
“I do. I really do,” he babbles dumbly, grinding his thumb into his slit and smearing pre-cum. He grits his teeth and tamps down a colorful word. How he yearns for this to be your hand wrapped around his length, tugging him to that far-off finish line. “I want nothing more than to—t-than to see you, all of you, in person…”
“So what’s stopping you? I could do a lot more in person than I can over the phone.” He has a smart reply for that, but it sticks in his throat. Pitifully, like the rightful debauched mess he is, he groans, low and guttural. “Let me turn the question on you, Sea Witch. If we were to meet today, what would you like to do to me?”
So many things, he thinks, a litany of smutty imagery flickering through his head.
But Sea Witch is classy (most days) and today is one of those instances. Or at least he’s going to make an attempt, however weak it may be.
“Take you to dinner,” he mumbles, executing jerky, quick motions in a daze, his cock weeping for release. He throws his head back, peers up at the interior roof of his car, and inhales sharply. “Take you all over the city if it pleases… I’d spoil you with so much finery—dress you up and then tear every article off…”
“And then?”
“And—god, fuck—wanna be inside you, angelfish… So badly—need you so badly. I wanna feel you and kiss you and hold you.”
He’s unraveling, strings pulled taut and fraying to extremity. Azul bucks into his hand and imagines it’s you, tight and warm, a sweet, snug embrace. He opens and closes his mouth, intending to beg you for more, but all that slips out are the tiniest huffs and grunts. He’s so wrapped up in his own ardor that he almost misses your quiet pants, every breath squeezed out of you as if you’re struggling to withhold your gratuitous moans. And it’s deplorable, really, the way his ears prick at these muffled sounds, the way his cock stands rigidly at attention, the way he’s falling through fragments of filthy fantasies, each one so close and yet impossibly far.
“I want you, too,” you mewl, tone wavering between shameless thrill and some sort of seventh heaven.
He wonders what you’re using to pleasure yourself. Are your fingers, slick and curled, rubbing up against those perfect, pretty spots that have you seeing stars? Or are you using the toys he purchased for your enjoyment? Maybe you’re lowering yourself onto the dildo right now, gummy walls clenching around girthy silicone. And maybe you’re tugging at your nipples, massaging them between the pads of your fingers, or maybe you’ve swapped skin-to-skin for a bullet vibrator instead.
Maybe—just maybe—it’s the mere thought of him that sets your flesh aflame with an intoxicating desire.
“And I want you—” you gasp, and his mind travels to all of the risqué photos you’ve sent, each one saved in a password-protected album on his phone— “I want you more than I’ve ever wanted anything before. I want you to show me that no one else can compare to you. I want you to—mmh, hah—to hold me down in bed and fuck me until my legs are sore and I can’t walk.”
I will, he thinks, lashes fluttering on his cheekbones. He strokes himself quickly, chest heaving, tongue near-lolling out of his mouth as he pants like a hound in heat. I’ll do all of that and so much more. I’ll fuck every coherent thought out of your pretty head, keep you just smart enough to rely on me, turn you into the prettiest sea flower who’ll only blossom for me.
“I promise, angelfish. I promise I’ll give you everything you’ve ever wanted,” he vows, his nerves alight with lustful delight, “and you’ll never know misfortune again.”
“I—oh! I’m close, so close! Please, Sea Witch! Please don’t stop. Please fill me up and make me yours!”
The sheer vulgarity twined through amatory vehemence, coupled with his own hurried pace, has him tumbling down the slope, arousal peaking and spilling over in thick, creamy spurts. He has half a mind to catch his spend before it can ruin the pristine interior of his car, and he blinks down at the semen sullying his palm. Idly, he rubs his fingers together to test the viscosity, wondering how his fluids would look on your face, your stomach, your ass—or even pooling out of your hole in plentiful amounts.
That fantasy is enough to send blood rushing right back to his softening cock, and he wills those thoughts away with logic—complex calculations and the financial forecast for Mostro. There will be plenty of time to indulge in sexual cravings later. He reminds himself of this while he tamps down his zeal, his heart relaxing in his ribs as he sits with the slowly ebbing aftershocks of orgasm.
You seem to be doing much the same, for you’ve gone perfectly quiet.
“Everything all right, angelfish?” he whispers after a few minutes, his breath now evened out.
“Mm, yeah. All good over here. Messy, but good.”
“I’m comforted knowing we’re in the same boat.” He chuckles while fumbling to dig a cotton handkerchief from the depths of his suit jacket. He cleans the cum and residual lube from off his hands and dick before neatly tucking himself away. Soon, there will be no need for this charade. Soon, he can adore all of you from beyond the screen. “Angelfish, there’s something I’d like to tell you.”
“What’s up?” you murmur, your own voice settling into its usual cheery cadence. He suspects you’re just putting on an act to sound happier. That will change when you’re reunited in person because it will be real. Because there will be no point in pretending through the phone.
“Well…” Azul smiles, folds and unfolds the sodden handkerchief, and then straightens his posture. He should be on his way now. “Ah, it’s nothing. Never mind it. I’ll tell you later.”
“Whaaat? But you’ve made me so curious now. Don’t just leave me in suspense!”
“Then I’m afraid you’ll have to remain in that suspense indefinitely.”
“Ugh. You’re so annoying sometimes.”
He knows you don’t mean that.
“I’ll tell you soon, angelfish. Exercise a little patience. There’s no rush.”
“Easy for you to say. You know what it is.”
“That I do, yes.” He hums, considering his next words. “Would it help if I left you with a word of advice?”
“What does that have to do with anything?”
“Everything.”
“Um. Okay, sure. Hit me. What’s your advice?”
Azul buckles himself in, starting his car via push button. It rumbles to life, smooth and steady. “Don’t fight so much, my dear.”
“Don’t what? Sea Witch, what are you talking—”
Your words are interrupted with a startled yelp. Azul listens to the struggle as if it’s a podcast enjoyed at sunrise. Things are toppled in the chaos; something shatters. He catches the beginnings of a blood-curdling shriek before it’s swiftly silenced. There’s more muffled scuffling before, eventually, absolute peace.
It’s broken by Floyd’s petulant whine. “Maaan, Shrimpy was so difficult. Thought you said they were easy, Azul.”
“Understandably so,” comes Jade’s astute reply. “We did catch them when they were most vulnerable.”
Floyd hums his agreement. “Y’know, Jade, Shrimpy’s kinda cute…”
“They are, aren’t they, Floyd?”
“Whatever you’re thinking, perish it right now,” Azul hisses, features twisting into something dark. “Keep your slimy mitts off of my angelfish.”
There’s an unsettling silence. Azul rolls his eyes. They’re fishing for a reaction he refuses to give.
“Clean up whatever mess you’ve made.” He takes his car out of park and eases into drive. “And don’t let anyone see you. It’ll be a hell of a pain if neighbors make unnecessary reports.”
“Yeah, yeah. Heard ya loud and clear.”
“Very well. Farewell for now.”
The call is cut. Azul grips the steering wheel, smug.
Soon waits for him on the horizon. He will not be a minute late.
Tumblr media
You wake on a bed, in a spacious bedroom with exquisite floor-to-ceiling windows, many stories up in the clouds. A brightly lit cityscape sprawls beyond the confines of this room, illuminated with the deceptive shine of promise and success. At first it looks foreign. But then you recognize notable buildings, each standing tall and proud amidst the rest, and it occurs to you that you’re in a stranger’s home, in the heart of the big city.
The room itself is plainly colored; it reminds you of a hotel or a room you might find in a real estate catalogue. Perplexed, you sit up and take pause as your unfamiliar surroundings prove to be more frightful than your own confusion.
Pasted to the walls are various printed screenshots from Magicord, each one detailing a conversation of sorts. You stare at the wall behind you, the one in which the bed is currently pushed against, and peer closer at the contents of these messages.
They’re all from you.
Endearing terms you’ve called him in passing. Gentle insults. Lewd flirts. Vents and rants. Photos you’ve sent of very insignificant things—houseplants, meals, clothes. And then there are the photos of your body in skimpy lingerie and cosplay, all taped to the wall like this is some abstract museum of the digital you. The you who, despite being honest most of the time, took solace in the world of Magicord. The you who’d grown close with the mod from that whimsical ocean-themed server. The you who is now trapped, your ankle enclosed in a cuff. There’s a lead that only allows you to meander into the attached bathroom if you so please, and you suspect it’ll pull taut if you try to leave the room.
“What the fuck?” you mutter, your stomach twisting with disgust.
You look down at your clothes—you’re in someone’s collared shirt, intentionally designed to be oversized so that it drapes like a nightgown—and horror prickles your skin.
And then he arrives.
He’s dressed casually in black slacks and a simple white dress shirt, primly tucked in with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows. You stare for a long moment, studying his features as his familiarity dawns. Your mouth falls open in a muted scream.
He smiles sweetly, stepping further into the amber glow from the bedside lamps. “It’s nice to formally meet you. I’m Sea Witch.”
But that’s not what’s shocking about this. The real shock—the thing that has your brain stumbling in an effort to put the pieces together before the picture can crumble—is far more jarring than the kidnapping and the captivity. You find your voice then, and before you can stop yourself the words are falling out in a hurry.
“CEO Ashengrotto?!”
Sea Witch—CEO Ashengrotto—stiffens, his brows furrowing immediately. He gives you a sharp, dangerous look. A look that seems to radiate one unspoken question: Where did you hear that name?
“You… You’re A-Azul Ashengrotto,” you continue, swallowing thick trepidation. “CEO of Mostro. You opened a new restaurant last year—Crave, right? And the menu features celebrity favorites—celebrities like Vil Schoenheit and Neige LeBlanche.”
He laughs his disbelief, carding a hand through soft, silvery locks. “How…do you know this?”
“I work there. You visited once with your secretary for quality checks. We even crossed paths.”
Azul gawks, realizes he’s gawking, and clears his throat. “I… I see. Well.” He inhales, holds his breath for three seconds, and exhales. “This makes things rather…awkward.”
“When you said businessman, I didn’t think… I mean, how was I supposed to know? Your voice sounds so different over call than it does in interviews.”
“Of course it does! I never use the same inflection for those things.”
This cannot be real, you think, watching him flounder anxiously. Azul Ashengrotto is Sea Witch. This whole time… Nine entire months… I was talking to the CEO—to the city’s most popular bachelor—and I didn’t even know it. They write articles about this guy! He’s all over the TV! How did I never realize?
And then a very mortifying thought worms its way in: Oh my God. We both know each other’s preferences. He saw so much of me—more than I’d ever want him to see—and I heard too many private things during our calls…
“Let’s just…” You rub circles into your temples to quell the incoming migraine. “Let’s never talk about this again. You can buy my silence and I’ll move on with my life. I’ll even forget all of…” You glance at the Magicord conversations stuck to the wall and then the chain binding your ankle. “All of this…stuff. We’ll agree to call it a misunderstanding and life will be good, yeah?”
The bargain doesn’t seem to reach him. He continues to stare at you, his eyes glazed with an emotion you can’t place. Whatever it is, it’s stormy and dark. You don’t like it, and you shrink away when he steps closer.
“All this time you were right under my nose…”
Azul climbs onto the bed with you, the mattress depressing under the additional weight. Framed by the hypnotic radiance of the skyscrapers climbing heavenward, he’s certainly earned his place in every celebrity gossip magazine you’ve ever read. Articles debating whether he’s secretly committed to a relationship. Articles theorizing what his life plans may have in store for him. Articles discussing whether he’ll ever get married, if he’ll remain single for the rest of his life, if he’ll ever open his heart to the many people who hope to earn his romantic affections.
No one knows it—how could they when he’s so tight-lipped with the paparazzi?—but you are the secret variable the articles have yet to discover. You are the covert partner, the one who has won his heart, the one who now sits shackled on his bed.
What sort of tabloid journalist could ever spin this story?
You scoot further up the bed, your back pressing against the ornately extravagant headboard. Your knees are pulled into your chest, a futile attempt at protection.
“All this time you were so close to me…” He marvels at this, his baby blue hues locked permanently on you. “And neither of us knew. I could’ve had you much sooner had I just realized…”
You blink at him, your heart sinking with every passing second. “Mr. Ashengrotto, what do you mean by that?”
A pout tugs at perfect, pretty lips. “Why so formal, angelfish? We’re much closer than that, surely.” His hands settle upon your knees, gently pulling them apart. Your blood curdles with fear. “There’s no need to be so tense. It’s only me.”
“No… Please wait. Hold on!”
“Hm? If I’m not mistaken, this is what you want. You were rather vocal about your desires. You’ve always been. So why are you looking at me like that? I’m not scary, am I?”
You squeeze your eyes shut. “Please let me go…”
He clicks his tongue in disapproval, his tone patient despite the subject. “You know I can’t do that.”
“But you… You kidnapped me! Y-You had those guys hiding in my home and they…” You shake your head, unable to describe the sheer terror that had overwhelmed you when those creepy twins descended. Hopeless, you open your eyes to give him your most despairing look. Tears brim in your eyes, threatening to fall at the slightest prodding.
“Oh, my dear, did they scare you? They’re brutes who know nothing of how to treat a person with adequate care. You needn’t worry anymore. I’m here for you.” He cups your face in a fond hold, thumb rubbing soothing circles into your cheek. “Don’t cry, angelfish. You’re in good hands—my hands. And have they not been the most generous?”
“You’re crazy. Obsessed! How can you think any of this is okay? Look around at the walls! You’ve pasted our conversations everywhere—they’re practically the wallpaper!”
“What of it?” His hand slides down to grip your chin, forcing you to meet him at eye level. “I love you. I have for months now. And if those are the ways you choose to classify my care, so be it.”
Tear trails trace down your face. He leans in to kiss the rivers away, but they morph into the saltiest of seas.
“You may not approve of my affections right this very moment. You may hate me, think I’m monstrous, a culmination of all things foul, but you will love me. In due time, my dear. And when you do, the world will open and the chain will come off and you will know freedom under my roof.”
He has the gall to worship you with a loving smile. It poisons you with newly brewing abhorrence.
“So cry your heart out. Scream and kick up a fit. Do what you must. And when the floods subside, we can learn to love one another. Both at our best and our worst, within and beyond Magicord.”

Thursday 2005 demos
These are some early demos for A City by the Light Divided which were stolen from the band and leaked in September 2005. I haven't seen anyone post about them so I thought I would myself. Below are lyrics and some extra context. I have tried to transcribe the lyrics as best I can but I have pretty bad auditory processing disorder so there will inevitably be some errors. If you spot a mistake, let me know and I will edit the post. The formatting and details of the lyrics are mostly based on the CD booklet.
Blog post
After the demos were leaked, Geoff made this blog post on the Thursday website on September 21 2005:
Hey friends- SO… we see that the early demos we did for the record have FINALLY leaked. In this day and age anything and everything that passes through a computer eventually ends up being available to everyone at the click of a button. Many of you know that Thursday is one of the few bands that actually supports file sharing!!! We love the fact that music is available to everyone whenever they need it. We have always told our friends and 'fans' that they should download any of our albums that they can't afford or can't find in stores. These demos, however, weren't ready for anyone to hear. These songs have all changed substantially since those demos and will probably change between now and the recording. Just to help you guys understand these demos, here's a user's guide: 1. most of these songs don't have names because the lyrics are still being written… a song only really becomes a song for us when we figure out EXACTLY what it's about. 2. One of these songs is actually the reincarnated out-take of a song that we cut from war all the time. 3. Andrew had just joined the band as a full fledged member when we recorded these and his keyboard parts were still sketchy at best. 4. There is one song, however, that is much closer to finished than the other's. It's called "At This Velocity" and it's about a crash landing in an airplane on the other side of the world. This song was started when we were in Australia on tour with the Flaming Lips, the Mars Volta and Poison the Well. The first line of the song is, "We were safe, Now we're paralyzed, Suspended in flight…" We hope you enjoy it. On a related and timely note, we are very excited to announce that we will be heading into the studio with Dave Fridmann at the beginning of October to start on our new album. His work with the Flaming Lips, Weezer, Mogwai and Sleater Kinney has produced some of the finest albums of the last ten years. Dave is one of the few modern producers really pushing the medium and he's one of the nicest guys in the business. We started preproduction on the sixteen songs we've written. In the short amount of time we've been working with Dave he's already pushing us to new musical and emotional ground. Anyway, thank you all for the love that you have always shown us. These demos aren't really a good indication so try not to listen to them too much (we don't want you to get used to them this way!!!). We're just happy that all the really great stuff on this album is still a secret!!! Keep checking the website for updates and tidbits. thanks and love, Geoff (and all the Thursday boys)
1 - At This Velocity - Lyrics
We were safe Now we're paralyzed Suspended in flight At this speed it makes no difference Where I start and where you end Or if you sit in an emergency aisle.
We could be dead Complete the equation: Our names are X and N We have no value In these calculations: We're placed on a plane, Pointed straight down, Traveling at five hundred feet per second, Five thousand feet from the ground -- how long will it take us to hit? How fast will we start the disintegration? No time left - just keep moving No time left - just keep moving How fast will it take us to hit? How long till we start the disintegration?
We could be safe here, forever, Floating in the clean blue air. Somewhere between the sun that gives us light and the ground that puts it out. And we'll kneel in the aisles Press our hands together, close our eyes, speak these words so softly into the black box And it goes: "Mother, father, can you hear this? I want to thank you for all the sweetness. I'm not coming home, we're never coming home."
2 - Telegraph Avenue Kiss - Lyrics
She's the song that you tried to sing And the note that you couldn't hit So you locked her up in a music box Turned the key on all of us She spins silver strings in the dark With metal teeth that ring in her heart When the cover drops The world just fades away, away, away From her, waiting, waiting, waiting for her to say: It doesn't matter what you say, Doesn't matter what you think you mean, You know our love's not unconditional.
A book of matches and a cigarette A love note that you never sent You can fold it up but you won't forget You can strike a match but it still might not light Now I'm the one that's stuck inside the silver cage, The bird that can't fly away, clip its wings if it sings Of the way, the way, the way that it hurt Waiting, waiting, waiting for her to say: It doesn't matter what you say, Doesn't matter what you think you mean, You know our love's not unconditional. Doesn't matter what you say, Doesn't matter what you think you mean, You know our love's not unconditional.
The music box is open It's spinning with the room If you're the record playing, I'm the needle in the groove. Listen to our song:
You're in my heart, In my hands In my lungs.
We move like a carousel Streak lights and mirrors in our eyes It's time to let this go Can't stop spinning Around, around, around, around, around, around, around, around, around, around, around You know our love's not unconditional Unconditional Unconditional You know our love's not unconditional.
3 - The Other Side of the Crash / Over and Out (Of Control) - Lyrics
Note: This contains a section from Panic On The Streets Of Health Care City, the "reincarnated out-take" mentioned in the blog post. Panic later appeared on Kill The House Lights.
The lights go down, outside (before our cars collide) The city silhouettes itself (in forty shades of fire) Do you know where these lies are leading? I'll meet you there. I'm covering up my eyes Before they cover up your eyes And wrap your body all in white, And we awake in the light of all the lies This can't be happening Sorry, someone made it.
We wake up Covered in the marks of all these razors Racing up our veins We'll live and learn to love again Open up your eyes and we'll be safe again From the razor's edge.
And the hospital ward sleeps Through the surgery Hiding needles in the drawer (for emergency) While upstairs they sleep In maternity Fever and the pitch. It's a brand new day, Just to be awake, This is how it feels To live and learn to love again Open up your eyes and we'll be safe away From the razor's edge.
The I.V. drips, the days drag on The anesthetic's not wearing off Adjust the light switch in the hall Someone has left it on, And maybe the x-ray screen keeps it from getting dark The bulb burns out when it gets too hot Keep crashing this car (over and over) Keep crashing this car (over and over) Keep crashing this car (over and over) I can't keep crashing this car Still it spins out of control So hold me close or I might disappear this time Out of control We fight currents in the water When we can't let go of the shore. We've lost control.
4 - Autumn Leaves Revisited - Lyrics
The leaves will fall and so will you When you do, bury me under them too Seconds pass, we'll make it through Eventually we all go home It won't be long It won't be long
I live with a girl who’s been waiting Seven months left till they bring home the baby He swore he was paying for school They shipped him over. Now he scatters on the front lines He swore he would follow his conscience But done the wrong way follows his orders instead. When he shoots, he sings this song But he doesn’t know that she’s been singing it, too. It won't be long It won't be long Until they find a way home
We walk along the wire tied between horizons You close your eyes like it's nothing at all Throughout the rise and fall, everything, everything Changes, I will be here when you die
Did you hear the trumpets play the day your father died? Did the violins swell those circles under your eyes? Did you play the part straight like a march? Or get lost in the beat, thinking and feeling… Did the drums in the streets make the people dance? Or fall to their knees from the sound? Knock the leaves from the trees, and they fell from the branch? They looked beautiful As they hung in the air Spinning around Did you float in the air? Spinning around?
There must be somewhere that cigarettes burn through the night And the leaves don't abandon their trees to the light Where the sky's always clear and the summer never ends… Won't you take me there?
The leaves will fall and so will you When you do, bury me under them too Seconds pass, we'll make it through Eventually we all are going home
5 - Untitled - Lyrics
Note - this didn't end up on ACBTLD, but did make it onto Common Existence as Last Call.
The center cannot hold, the side collapses Full of broken words, sing the song inside the dark arcade Color me in city greens The streets unwinding, spitting flames Cars around the arteries We scream and swerve and fall apart.
Everything we love, it falls apart, And the architect abandons us.
I'll save us from the sky until a feeling burns, you try It plants a seed of fire that flowers in the corner of your eye Circular breathing We'll keep them always moving Heart attack efficiency, Erase the figure as it falls.
Everything we love, it falls apart, And the architect abandons us.
The city shakes like tired hands The light divides what darkness mends Our bodies echo in our plans.
Everything is falling apart.
The wedding starts The guests appear The church bells ringing endlessly The bride and groom are hand in hand And everything goes as it's planned: The parents smile, The priest chokes up, The organ plays "Amazing Grace" And underneath the thin white veil
Everything is falling apart.
And the people sing: La la la la, da da da…
The city shakes like tired hands The light divides what darkness mends Our bodies echo in our plans.
Everything is falling apart.

⛽️👶🏻🥰🍭✏️
⛽️ Name a fic that you got energy from after reading.
I’m not entirely sure what this means, tbh. Maybe a funny fic like œuf ouch owie since I tend to get energy from laughing?
👶🏻 First fic you remember reading?
Answered here.
🥰 Your comfort fics that you can re-read several times and still love them?
Oh gosh. So many. I download all of my favourite fics as epub files onto my ipad and, especially when I'm tired and don't have the energy for something new, I'll just go through and read the same fics over and over and over again.
By no means an exhaustive list, but all of the fics off my Must Reads rec list, A Secret Worth Keeping, The Prescription and Super Fan by @gabriel-agreste-has-no-rights, Operation: Bisou and most of @ghostlyhamburger's smutty one-shots, i think it’s time i told you (i’m a fan of your universe), tell me what you want so we can do just what you like and the Hey there, hot stuff~ series by @clairelutra, Bad Week by @ominousunflower, Banter series, Stars series, A Cat of Their Own, Bet, Jealousy, Enthusiasm and The Open Line by @sariahsue, A Nice Matching Set by @bridgetinerabbit, The Pole Kit and Kaboodle by @chatonne-rousse,  rumour has it by @settledownsummer, twists and turns and your lips are meant to be kissed by @zimtlein, (Emergency) Boyfriend by @nomolosk, Maintaining a Professional Distance and Off the Mark by @buggachat, pretty lady, look at how he's smiling, our hands would not be taught to hold another's (literally just reread this Thursday night for the umptieth time) and Me, My Best Friend, and Her Cat by @ladyofthenoodle, and of course after reading that last one I have to read the sequel, A Miraculous Reveal: Locked in a Closet by you (and of course all your reveals but I linked those already in the Must Reads post) and The Five Minute Adventures of Snake Noir.
Also my own stuff because it's all written exactly to my tastes lol
Favorite fic trope?
M U T U A L P I N I N G ! ! !
I go absolutely wild for two people being absolutely stupid in love with each other and thinking their feelings are unrequited and pining away. Far and away my favourite trope! (Honourable mentions go to fake dating and identity reveals.)
✏️ Ever gotten inspired to write your own fic after reading someone elses?
Experimental Kisses by @komorebirei. Basically Ladybug agrees to kiss Chat because it's not fair that he doesn't remember his first kiss. She sets some ground rules including that it doesn't change anything or mean anything. Except that after she experiences "what it feels like to be kissed by someone who loves you with all of their being" well....it affects her.
There's some fantastic flirting and banter, and then Ladybug leaves and the fic ends. And it's wonderful! But I'm obsessed with what happens next.
In my head, that kiss keeps her up at night for weeks until she finally caves and asks for more. I just love her not being able to stop thinking about it. And it driving her absolutely crazy. Because she wants to kiss him again.
But she can't, obviously. Of COURSE she's not going to kiss Chat again. But she wants to.
It's all she can think about. She's distracted in class, distracted out with her friends (she was so distracted she even missed Adrien greeting her once! Alya thought she was sick)
But the worst is when there's an akuma attack or they have patrol because Chat is RIGHT THERE and she knows how easy it would be to kiss him again and she wonders if it would be as good as she remembers or if she's built it up to something bigger than it was in her mind
And then one night she lets something slip, maybe asks Chat if he's kissed a lot of girls before or something like that. And he catches on right away: "you're still thinking about it!" Excited. Hopeful.
And she tells him to shut up but her cheeks are on fire.
And then he's like "we could kiss again, you know. If you want."
And she should say no, right? This is a terrible idea. She never should have said yes the first time.
But.... she can't stop thinking about it. Maybe one more kiss will help her finally put this out of her head.
She agrees.
And he kisses her again, gently but insistently like before, but this time SHE KISSES HIM BACK.
And it's EVEN BETTER.
And then I'm imagining like weeks of ladynoir makeouts...and that was as far as I got!
I've also got a partially written fic playing in @buggachat's Bakery Enemies AU, but giving Adrien's POV.

To one of my lovely mutuals Edgy / @a-very-tired-raven , I apologize for being slightly late with your b-day present. (And for being unable to think of a good, catchy title for this one-shot) But I hope you enjoy this quick, short story nonetheless… (sorry it wasn’t longer).
You and your gremlin husband are adorable! And I hope you like it.
As much as you loved your date-mate… he could be annoying when he wanted to be.
Most of the time it was all in good fun. You both enjoyed the teasing and the theatrics of your relationship… but today, he was just being obnoxious.
You both had recently gone to see his favorite musical Hamilton... not the Broadway version, obviously, but the one performed by the Ebbot College students. It had been a lot of fun, and you could tell a lot of effort went into the production of it… but now he was hooked on the music again.
To be fair, so were you, but you were at least rotating throughout the songs. The perfect mixture of all the nostalgic tunes that made you fall in love with the show in the first place.
But on his agenda for the day was to sing the same one… over, and over, and over again.
How does a ragtag volunteer army in need of a shower
Somehow defeat a global superpower?
How do we emerge victorious from the quagmire?
Leave the battlefield waving Betsy Ross' flag higher?
Yo, turns out we have a secret weapon
An immigrant, you know and love, who's unafraid to step in
He's constantly confusin', confoundin' the British henchmen
Ev'ryone give it up for America's favorite fighting Frenchman
Lafayette!
The worst part was the slight variations he would do each time he restarted the song. It was mostly him singing in different voices or accents or styles, but to mix it up and make it more confusing, he’d do different characters in the play and even random actors and characters from other shows.
And while most of the time you found it hilariously entertaining to hear your boyfriend talk in so many different voices…. but if you heard that song one more time.
I'm takin' this horse by the reins makin'
Redcoats redder with bloodstains
Lafayette!
And I'm never gonna stop until I make 'em
Drop and burn 'em up and scatter their remains, I'm
Lafayette!
Watch me engagin' em! Escapin' em!
Enragin' em! I'm-
Lafayette!
I go to France for more funds
Lafayette!
I come back with more guns
And ships
And so the balance shifts
To be fair… it's not like you were really doing anything important. Just a mobile game on your phone you randomly downloaded on your phone cause you were bored.
But it was pretty addicting… and you just. wanted. to. beat. this. level!!
Kind of difficult to focus on and accomplish when your six-foot skeleton date-mate was dancing around the room, singing in more and more absurd voices while laughing at your frustration every time you failed and had to start over, giving him an accusing glare each time.
The jerk. But he was your jerk.
You knew the reason he was being so intentionally annoying was because he wanted your attention. …So why not give him exactly what he wanted?
On his next pass by, you reached out to snag him by the waist, pulling him towards you.
Seeing as how you were sitting on the couch, it ended up being a kind of awkward shuffle to get situated, but you managed. And giving yourself a moment to think about how to het even with the guy, you lean in to kiss him. Putting an end to any further nonsense by keeping him occupied in the best way possible.
When you pulled back, his eyelight looked a little hazy.
Perfect.
"You know what I like about you?” You could tell you definitely had his attention now. “I like your ridiculous sense of humor. I like your creativity, and all the pranks and jokes you can come up with on the spot. I like your voice and all the mimicry you can do with it.”
You couldn’t help but list off a couple of other things about your boyfriend.
Everything ranging from his appearance to his sense of style… with all of it leading up to "And I love you… but."
You hesitate. Initially, the plan was that you would gently push him off you to land on the floor before telling him he was annoying… but with the unguarded, happy look he was giving you now, that seemed mean.
"But I don't think love is a strong enough word." You lean down and kiss him again, tossing your phone onto the couch beside you. All your irritation from earlier gone. …Who needed to beat video game levels anyway? You had something much more important in front of you. What could possibly be better than that?

the No Entry plot, but in a post
for the convenience of not having to download a whole zip file to access the PDF, here is the prose story accompanying No Entry.
tw: guns, violence, conspiracy theories, isolation, shootings.
A SICK STORY Sometime after the coming of the 21st century, years after the administrative near-calamity of Y2K, and a little bit into the emergence in the music scene of a style that is called "grime," an incident occurred to a Western man. This man was given a name when he was born in a Western country, but journalistic practices suggest his name be withheld, and those same practices are hereby extrapolated to also withhold the country. For the purposes of narrative noun-ership, this man is just "the Guy." The Guy was a warm-blooded barrel-chested card-carrying paragon of Western ideals, a regular dayjob crusader for God and the nuclear familiy in a post-nuclear age. He never had many friends besides those who, like him, bore silent witness to a society morphing under their feet. Prepped in school for a life of cold hard cash and unwinding by the TV, he became an early adopter of the World Wide Web in hopes of getting an early lead on the marketplace. And so it was he thrived for a little while as he came into his own. Liked for his wit, if respected only at a distance, he was on the path to getting used to this arrangement. But something happened.
PROPHETIC TO THE BLIND Western society wasn't the only thing falling forward unto the brink of the unknown. Something changed in the Guy, something he didn't talk about openly. Details are still vague on the particulars, but police consensus has confirmed this much: At some point, the Guy found a forgotten journal. Again: He found… a journal. He never let anyone see this journal. When it was discovered by his bed after the incident, forensics mistook it for a mistake. It wasn't his; it didn't have his fingerprints on it, or anyone's fingerprints for that matter. It bore a tattered leather cover, caked in forest mud. Its pages were older than the Guy, older than most of the investigators in fact. It was bagged away for later examination. But the Guy… Back in those days, to all outward appearances, the Guy was just going a little nutty.
TOWERS AND CITADELS He would start preaching, at a moment's notice, of the Way Things Are Going. For a while, there was some tenuous relevance to what was in front of him-- a building under construction, a TV channel covering news what didn't before, and a shop employee with too many tattoos were triggers for some of his most notorious polemics. "Guy," a friend would say, "I hate it as much as the next guy, don't get me wrong, but sometimes a hat is just a hat." Or "Let him bring his dog, he's not harming anyone," another would say. This may have stopped the Guy from that approach, but in him was still an Anxious River in the rainy season, and the levees of Public Decency no matter how strong the foundation can't stop the flood. So he would boil over now without a catalyst at all, such is the course of human change.
CONTRACT DESK JOCKEY (SHUT UP AND PLAY) Now, the Guy wasn't exactly an outcast, nor was he expected to become one. He'd had friends before, sure as there's a reader there reading these words. At his job, sitting at a desk doing paperwork for contracts, he found some good people who brought light out of his eyes. They had the valuable and uncommon ability to parse his spontaneous rants, cut through the underlying anxieties, and address his needs. It wasn't always the easiest job, but they were rewarded with the proud bloom of the Guy Fulfilled. Those are the memories those friends still think of him by, and those memories were worth it, as his skills in persuasion and enthusiasm when honed to a warmer cause were a divine sight. Unfortunately, that isn't this story. And for many different reasons, the Guy lost that friend group. Some of them got promoted and relocated, some of them were downsized or left for their own paths, and the remaining friend couldn't stand being the Guy's ballast all alone and simply cut all ties. How this must have affected the Guy, one can only speculate. He clearly tried to get on by himself for a while, but it wasn't long before he met a new circle at his first Sunsetters concert. They were smoking something illegal in the back rows, he bought them some beers, and they got to talking. He had never heard this band before and had only come to this concert because it was touring in his town, so this new circle gave him recommendations and a lot of drugs. Perhaps, if circumstances had been different, this could have been a way out for the Guy.
BEING WATCHED It's time to take a step back and gather more context. How did the Guy find the journal? This is a crucial riddle for the investigation into what happened. His sojourns into the forest predate his downward plunge, so evidently they were an activity he simply Liked To Do. About once a year, the Guy was known to take a trail into a dense and winding forest (there were many such near him). He would bring camping equipment and spend several days out there, as he was competent at survival and relished the silence. He wanted to bring friends out there, but that never panned out. He didn't seem to mind, though; the forest was his ritual. To be lost amidst the trees, to have only the birds and the bees for company… Anyway. One year came the strangeness: The Guy went into the woods… and then came back after only two days. It is generally accepted that this was when he found the journal. What was it doing in those woods? Who left it there? Was it the journal that changed him, or was it the forest? One of the only pieces of writing penned by the Guy, found in his house during the investigation, suggests he met someone out there, someone who gave him the journal. Following up on this lead is nigh fruitless. There are some reports, from time to time, of people going missing in those woods, or of feeling watched, but what can the police actually do about that? It makes sense that official consensus would gloss over this part of the story. The details cannot save us.
THE BOY IN THE LIGHTHOUSE Who was the Guy in his childhood? If he had a family, they took him to live in a lighthouse when he was little. If he didn't, maybe he was left there. He slept at the top, maintaining the light for the passing ships. If he had a father, that father sailed away never to return. If he didn't, he likely imagined the father he never knew would come by ship. If he had a mother, she was either with the father, or is another cruelly forgotten detail for the speculators to take for themselves. Regardless, it is known that someone lived in a lighthouse, many years ago.
ELECTRIC DISTANT Isolation is at the heart of this, of course. Society gives us a duty to weather the isolation in order to hold each other together. Many do not accept this duty and fight the fight of change, but in the end all will settle into an equillibrium that still maintains the same principle: Weather the isolation, boy. Such is the course of human sadness.
DEATH OF THE AUTHOR So the Guy became an adult, the Guy found a journal, the Guy lost his friends and made new ones, and the Guy inched closer to a terrible incident. What was his mental state like then? It wasn't pretty. He had finished reading through the journal by this point, and he would spend his drugged-up nights processing its contents and fitting them into his view of the world. The journals, according to the Guy, were the age-worn logs of a soldier who fought a war to establish capitalism, only to be betrayed by his State for all his hard work. "Gunned down in the street by a faceless grunt," as it were. In any case, the keeper of the journals had died, and now the Guy's anxieties were fed bloody raw meat. He still wanted to believe in the world, but how could he when he now questioned the police? If he could no longer trust the police, wouldn't the rest of his beliefs inevitably close in on themselves? "There is an It that society is changing towards, a Bad It, and the police are In On It… so too must be everyone else." Yeah. You know how it goes. The Fox in the henhouse.
FOLLOW ME UNTO THE BRINK Now, if this story had an omniscient narrator, if God could come and speak to us, He might tell us some worrying things here, as there are a very many unknowns to this case, and a case like this is unlikely to have an innocent resolution. As it is, the speculators have free rein to provide many worrying theories rather than just the one. Was the keeper of the journal kidnapped? Assassinated by foreign spies as revenge for his part in an ideological war? If it was actually the local police, could it have been a personal grievance, as simple as that? Or a mistake? Was it even the police? Couldn't it have been anyone? Was the keeper of the journal even telling the truth? Couldn't he have been telling a story? Was the keeper of the journal a cult leader? Did he leave the journal in the woods for it to be found? None of this matters now.
THE MAN WHO WASN'T THERE Meanwhile, what about the Sunsetters? Why not speculate about them too? The song that they were most famous for at the time of the Guy's introduction to them was "The Man Who Wasn't There," and it is all but certain he saw them perform it. That song has little explanation to it, coming in towards the end of a busy album, suddenly talking about a monster in a suit and tie. The lyrics purport that the singer has lost her mind after an encounter with this monster, that it follows her wherever she goes yet cannot be seen, that it breeds her anxiety. And she invites the listener to sing along with her to the (rather difficult) vocal part, whereupon the curse would spread to him too. What if? Right? What if.
COLORS OF GRACE In the end, the story must go on. The Guy showed no sign of correcting his course, of stepping back from the abyss of aggression. His beliefs didn't necessarily stay the same, though. It has been argued that prolonged obsession with the journals had put the details of his rants in flux, if the angry core rolled on constant. Other investigators cast doubt on whether human psychology is truly so malleable as to be molded by some random thing a person read. "What, do you think television warps kids' brains too? Get out of the 90s," they say. I guess you can see both sides, can't you? In any case, one day the Guy woke up and knew he had a duty.
BEST REGARDS The most authoritative account, the report of the incident made later that evening, has it that it was this way: The Guy woke up, stood in front of the mirror for a time, put on his gloves, then opened the journal and gave it one last read before closing it, leaving it in the position that forensics found it. He grabbed his gun, a Glock 37, and left his house, driving towards the nearby shopping mall. Aside from the gloves, he was also wearing a pair of wrap-around sunglasses, a camo hunter's vest over a pale-blue dress shirt, and a pair of tight-fitting jeans. Witnesses described his behavior on arrival as "flaky," "wandering," "undecided." After approximately 3 minutes, he fired 5 shots into the crowd, hitting several. Police were called by mall security as the Guy made his way into a clothing store and took cover behind an abandoned counter. Police response time was 7 minutes, as they were held up by roadworks. During that time, the Guy fired a few more times at whoever was unfortunate enough to pass by, though he hit no one else. Upon seeing the police, the Guy shouted at them, calling them "King Mob." He made no attempts to submit peacefully and showed no sign of reconciliation. He fired once at the police, hitting an officer through the heart, and then made for the exit. Officers chased him for 30 yards and gunned him down on the sidewalk in front of the mall. What else can be said? It's a sad state of affairs. We may never know the truth about the journal he found, but we know his truth: The Guy was the iconic Western man, breaking down in aggression about an anxiety he couldn't put a face to. This is not a cautionary tale. This is reality, or is it fiction? Either way, it's all dust windward.

My Thoughts On: Cave Story
Indie gaming is a growing industry in modern gaming, but back in 2004, indie games were just emerging as a viable option. Most people think of indie games that have come out in the last 5-7 years, but one of my favorite games of all time came out in 2004, before there was even a market for indie games.
Cave Story was release in 2004 by Japanese game developer Daisuke "Pixel" Amaya, who had worked on the game in his free time. It was initially available as a freeware PC game, and is still available at the archive site cavestory.org. Released in Japanese, it received fan-made translations until finally being officially translated for the first time in 2010.
The company Nicalis translated and ported Cave Story as a WiiWare game in 2010, and then followed that up with a DSiWare version later the same year. As Cave Story picked up recognition, the indie game industry was growing, and the world was ready for a game like Cave Story to hit as an independently developed game.
In 2011, Cave Story 3D came out on the 3DS as a fully remastered, 3D-modeled remake of the original Cave Story, and and later the same year Cave Story+ was released for Steam. Both of these versions received moderate reviews, and in 2012 they released a port of Cave Story+ for the 3DS eShop, featuring the original art and soundtrack. The eShop version is still the highest rated version of the game.
Now, for all this talk about it, what exactly is Cave Story? Cave Story is a metroidvania set in various caves on an island where creatures called the Mimiga roam free. As the player explores this strange island, several events occur that begin to unveil a sinister plot, and the player must try their best to prevent tragedy from striking.
To keep things spoiler-free, I'll leave it there!
In terms of gameplay, Cave Story's platforming isn't necessarily anything to write home about. It's fun, but not inherently unique or innovative. I think the real draw is the combat system and how that intertwines with the platforming. instead of leveling up your character, you collect experience crystals that level up your weapon instead. Each level provides a new power, and whenever you take damage you loose some of that experience. This provides not only a unique system that keeps you invested, but also another incentive to avoid taking damage beyond just your health meter. This sort of combat and involving platforming with it is really where Cave Story shines!
And of course, secrets. Many people think of Undertale as the classic "choose your route" sort of RPG indie game, but Cave Story did this too! Most players will find the "Bad" and "Normal" endings of the game, as they're by far the easiest to reach. However, for those who're truly dedicated (and skilled!), there is a "Best" ending that can be reached by following a very specific set of steps, and leads to the true final boss! I have yet to reach this ending, but that certainly won't stop me from trying!
In 2017, Cave Story+ was ported to the Nintendo Switch, featuring fixes to the PC version and exclusive content! If you want to play Cave Story, you have no shortage of options, and the Switch version just might be the easiest.
All in all, Cave Story is one of my favorite games of all time, and is definitely worth a try. Downloading the freeware version is a great way to test it out before buying one of the ports. I intend to play each of the ports and hopefully write a review when I finish each one. I highly recommend this game, and I hope you'll give it a try!
Thanks for reading! Cave Story is an amazing game, and is very special to me. Hopefully this will encourage at least one new person to try it out! I hope you enjoyed this one, and be sure to ask questions and suggest new post ideas in my ask box! Stay safe, stay hydrated, and God bless! ~Alex

Dream of 7/19/23
Lived in this shitty mobile home sort of in the middle of the woods. I was on the computer playing a game when suddenly like... 900 emulators opened at once that I didn't even have downloaded and it started playing random games that I also didn't have downloaded so they had missing textures and like fucked up models I got so overstimulated and confused that I just started crying my mom comes in and is like wtf happened and I didn't know how to explain it to her so I just said something like "The computer died" and she was like I'll just trash it and get a new one and this made me even more upset but she didn't understand why and we were kind of arguing back and forth while I was on the brink of like exploding. Everything eventually calms down We have these 2 giant vertical windows with no curtains that were open and I asked if we could close them because I saw a creature that definitely wasn't of this world (it looked like a moose but.. not.) my mom's all like oh where I don't see anything and I was like.. ok guess we will die. The creature suddenly sprints full speed into the house and bites my mom and storms off and apparently they were very poisonous (not venom) she gets like paralyzed and starts turning blue and I'm just watching in horror she's still conscious she just can't move Im like. Im gonna call the squad and I take a phone start calling 911 and it's done old man for some reason like no introduction or prompts just some old dude like "Hello?" silence and I'm baffled I'm like panicked and say "This... This is 911 right?" and he's like "yes what's your emergency" and ofc at this point in my dream is where I get all fatigued and can barely speak I try so fucking hard to explain the situation but he is not helping at all so eventually there's more moose creatures that show up and take my moms body away and she becomes one of the moose things and I'm just . sitting there still crying btw and I'm just like . ok hopeless.
Dream Shift
Was inside a giant ass house I had a bf apparently who was also secretly a murderer the only reason I find out he's killing people is cause I happened to walk in while he was planning his next kill and he was like .. I have to kill you now and I was like no nah what if we killed together 😳 and he was like O_O so we became killer buddies that's literally the whole dream
Dream shift
⚠️⚠️⚠️ Worm dream. (I remember exactly what they looked like) ⚠️⚠️⚠️‼️⚠️ very gross
Was inside a school everything was normal then suddenly there's a bunch of screaming and ppl running away in the halls we all get up and try to make sense of what's happening and the only response we would get was "alien worm" I accept my fate that I'm probably going to be infected and have the worst experience of my life and I see the worm in its hungry form it's very thin but absurdly long kind of looks like a centipede but not segmented it had tiny little barbed hairs that worked like suction cups so it could literally be infused with your skin. But also the worm was sentient and could talk. I try reasoning with it like you don't want to do this man please. and he's all like I want to take over the world everyone will be part of my hive hehehehe I just say to him I'll have to do everything in my power to exterminate you and we become rivals like. For some reason I could get infected but I was still me like most ppl became zombies while I just had worms in me and I hated it. I find out that there is nothing in the world that can destroy this worm so I plan to just launch it into space aiming for the sun. I try collecting every single strand of this worm (cuz he broke himself up into parts so he could infect faster) I shove them all into this space pod and hope that I got them all. The worms in me started to grow and... the way they looked when they were full of blood was.. oughh..... it looked and was as fat as one of those big ass caterpillars I had some casually hanging from my mouth and I was scared to bite down to sever them but I did and tried to rip them apart I send the pod to space and I like sigh in relief for like a minute and I look up and see the worm again he had grown like 50x longer and is reaching all the way from space back to earth and I was just like. Dude. you win. Take over the earth. I go home my family is also infected but normal just like me we try doing research about it and find out the worm is called the smooth worm (I think) and it has 2 heads. It's extremely powerful suction is what makes it so painful and successful. We really wanted to kill them but couldn't. I think I start to go lucid here and I'm like please this is the worst let me wake up and I DISTINCTLY Remember opening my eyes for 5 seconds looking at my wall and falling back to sleep. Awful. I get sucked right back into the dream and I lose lucidity.

Diabetes cure | How to get rid of Diabetes?
“My reports are here, and it says that I have Diabetes. I feel so helpless and sad. I will never be able to eat my favourite foods again. Doctor, is there a way to reverse or cure it? How to get rid of Diabetes? Can diabetes be cured?”, said a patient who was newly diagnosed with Diabetes.
Tumblr media
I understand what you must be going through right now, however, it is important for you to know that diabetes is not reversible. But wait, do not lose hope yet! This is something that we can control throughout our lives in order to prevent its complications.
Diabetes does not only cause physical stress to the body but the amount of mental tension the person goes through in just accepting it is quite challenging.
Mental health experts confirm that stress can also be a factor for the development of diabetes, so yes, before we proceed further, take a few deep breaths, relax, and smile.
Great, you are relaxed now! Read on and find out if there is a cure for diabetes or not.
Diabetes causes physical and mental stress, both!
The short answer-
Just like the patient here in the above story, there are several people who google, “How to get rid of Diabetes? Can you get rid of diabetes?”… Who wants to reverse diabetes or cure it, but do we really have a permanent cure for diabetes? The answer is ‘NO’.
But don’t feel bad yet! You must have heard, “where there is a will, there is a way”. This is true here as well. Although there is no permanent cure for diabetes, there are treatments for diabetes which can help in the management of your blood sugar levels and prevent its complications.
The treatment for this disorder has progressed far from what it used to be, experts believe that in a few years there will be immunotherapies at least for Type 1 Diabetes.
Immunotherapy is an emerging form of therapy that activates or suppresses the immune system, this field of study has also been used for developing therapies for cancer.
Did you know? Several studies have been done and it is an established fact that prediabetes is reversible but diabetes is not.
Now you must be thinking about how is that possible and what exactly do we need to reverse prediabetes — just the three warriors — exercise, diet and managing stress.
Prediabetes takes about three-six years to completely transform into diabetes, so that is quite a lot of time to make the necessary changes required.
So when are you planning to get moving on your feet, eating healthy and nutritious foods and living your life to the fullest?

What is diabetes and who should care?
Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disorder where the hormone insulin is either not prepared or utilised completely. The former usually refers to Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus and the latter is the case with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
In either of the above cases, the person’s lifestyle changes completely, they have to constantly monitor their eating and exercise patterns as well as their sugar levels. Some people are able to do this effortlessly and some find it very hard, especially while being in social surroundings.
The risk factors for Type 1 Diabetes can be:
Family history
Age
The risk factors of Type 2 Diabetes depend on:
Weight
Age
Physical inactivity
Family history
Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD)
Lastly, the risk factors for gestational diabetes mellitus are:
Gestational diabetes during the first pregnancy
Being overweight
Family history of Type 2 Diabetes
Age
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
People who develop Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) usually are not well educated and increase their risk for developing Type 2 Diabetes. Quite often the symptoms go unnoticed or are misdiagnosed, leading to a delay in treatment.
Amongst the two above mentioned types of diabetes, a slightly more challenging type is Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. Read on to find out more on how to get rid of Diabetes.
Type 1 diabetes cure
As of the recent studies, there is no permanent cure for this diabetes, the person usually has to live on insulin therapy for the rest of their lives.
Since type 1 is more of an autoimmune disorder, the focus for its cure is more towards:
Combination therapy: Using multiple therapies for the treatment of one disease,
Hormone replacement therapy: Hormones given through medicines that alter the hormones within the body and manage symptoms
Immunotherapy: Treatment that uses the person’s own immune system to fight diseases
Treatment of Type 1 Diabetes is a big challenge amongst experts now. A biological cure is under research where an attempt is being made to allow the body to start producing its insulin again, hence restoring the body’s ability to utilise the glucose obtained from food.
Along with understanding the future for the treatment of diabetes in general, the current treatment involves:
Giving insulin externally
Some people may be prescribed oral hypoglycemic drugs along with insulin
Type 2 diabetes cure
Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes is available. It is the fastest-growing metabolic disorder and has started to affect people at the age of 20–25, as well. With time, it can create numerous other complications and challenges.
There are several approaches that are available for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes, but the answer to “how to get rid of Diabetes?“ is still yet to be discovered. Another approach and rather a simple one involves healthier lifestyle choices including:
Exercise
Healthier eating patterns
Taking best medicines for diabetes as prescribed
Follow up with the doctor regularly in order to manage blood sugar levels
Insulin is mostly prescribed to Type 1 diabetics.
Insulin is mostly used as a treatment of diabetes for patients who are older and cannot adhere to a strict diet.
People who have had a dramatic weight loss have achieved better control over their blood glucose levels, and are present either with minimal or no medicines at all. So the most basic and evident approach towards managing this type of diabetes is to ensure that healthy lifestyle practices are followed.
People with Type 2 diabetes have stopped their medicines completely by improving their lifestyle. They have been able to live a life without any complications that accompany diabetes, but this is a gradual process.
Quite a few of them have also experienced something called remission, where they are able to achieve normal blood glucose levels without medication, only through lifestyle modifications. This was seen in patients for at least 6 months, and if they continued with the same modifications, it went beyond 6 months of the treatment of diabetes.
To learn more about diabetes, medicines and lifestyle, enrol in our program by downloading the Zyla app or visiting our website- Zyla.in.
Now we also have something about gestational diabetes that is as important as the other types, read on to find out more…
Gestational diabetes cure
Just like the other two types, there is no cure for gestational diabetes, however, in most cases, it goes away right after the baby is born, and in cases where the blood glucose levels remain high, the person develops Type 2 diabetes.
The mother should regulate her meal patterns and seek the right guidance regularly.
When blood sugar levels rise beyond control, it can enter the placenta and cause various complications not just to the mother but also to the foetus, some of these are:
Preterm birth of the baby
A baby that weighs more than normal (macrosomia)
Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes later on life for the child
Stillbirth
The treatment for gestational diabetes involves being on oral hypoglycemic agents (OHAs) as well as insulin, right spacing of meals, making healthier choices, regular exercise and also visiting the doctor for regular check-ups to ensure that there is no progression which can further lead to complications.
There are an extensive number of people who suffer from diabetes, scientists are working tirelessly to find a cure, let us read on to find out what is the current research and if we do see a light at the end of the tunnel…
What’s ahead: research and upcoming therapies
Parents and caregivers of children or teens with Type 1 Diabetes struggle to handle the fluctuating sugar levels, they need timely assistance and guidance. Some people are able to afford lifelong management while some find it hard to make ends meet.
Keeping several factors in mind, experts have been thinking of several aspects to manage diabetes and find better strategies.
Here are quite a few interesting approaches how to get rid of Diabetes, you’ll be surprised to find out:
1.Stem cell therapy
The current research for curing Type 1 Diabetes lies in the attempt to get stem cells to the rescue! Yes! Several years of research has gone into understanding how stem cells can be converted into beta cells, the cells that basically secrete insulin and manage blood sugar levels.
A lot of research of diabetes cure is undergoing.
2. Environmental factors
A closer, yet indirect approach is treating the environmental factors that may increase the prevalence of developing Type 1 Diabetes.
Preventing exposure to chemicals that may pose a risk of developing autoimmunity is the main reason behind Type 1 Diabetes. This, however, still requires an extensive amount of research to understand the way this can be incorporated into an actual treatment, or if it can be used as a partner for other treatments.
3. Insulin pumps
Another treatment that is gaining a lot of popularity is the usage of insulin pumps, these however are still being studied in terms of their response to exercise and meals that are taken.
Insulin pumps seem to be more reliable for monitoring blood glucose levels. Although their cost factor becomes a challenge for quite a few.
4. Natural cure for diabetes
A novel approach towards Type 2 Diabetes is slightly more towards finding a natural treatment including bioactive compounds that can restore the ability of the body to utilise the glucose from the bloodstream.
Of course, this attempt is also to make sure that it is low cost and people are able to afford it.
5. Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA)
One approach towards finding a cure for Type 2 Diabetes is by utilising Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA) which are a group of supplements, that are used to enhance performance in the field of sports.
There is little to no evidence that supports the usage of Branched Chain Amino Acids, but scientists are performing animal studies to see if it actually works.
This is limited to the sportsmen and people who are involved in intense physical activity, as BCAA is known to enhance muscle mass and protein synthesis, which is highly essential for sports performance.
6. Pancreas transplantation
As a drastic approach, scientists have also been considering pancreas transplantation in people with severe metabolic complications. But, the reversal of diabetic complications (like chronic kidney disease) is still not possible with this approach.
Diabetes is usually not just a disturbance in the sugar levels, it comes with several cardiac complications as well, such as hypertension (high blood pressure) and dyslipidemia (disturbed lipid levels).
Diabetic nephropathy (kidney complications), diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage) and diabetic retinopathy (a complication of the retina in the eye) are also some of the common complications seen in diabetes.
The upcoming therapies are focussing on how to get rid of Diabetes i.e. preventing complications as well as curing diabetes.
Diabetes is a disorder that cannot be cured or reversed as of yet, but there are several approaches that are being made to find a permanent cure for diabetes. With regular exercise, set meal patterns and regular guidance on medicines from doctors, we can prevent damage to organs.
Taking the right measures at a young age is very essential, as this not only prevents the development of diabetes for the individual alone but also ensures good health for the coming generations and this way the cycle of being healthy goes on.
One such mechanism that is gaining importance is the remission of diabetes. With sheer hard work and determination, people have been able to manage their sugar levels by just strictly focussing on what they eat, when they eat and also how much they eat and also exercise!
This does not mean they have not been able to eat their favourite foods, they have definitely had their favourite foods, but have largely focussed on making healthier choices.
Seeking mental and medical help as and when needed to manage diabetes has shown good results. The road ahead is quite bumpy but not impossible.

Enhypen reaction to you having a asthma attack!
Note: Hope you enjoy!, sorry it’s out extremely late I’m a pretty busy person! :)
Requested by: Anon
Heeseung
Tumblr media
Would probably freak out worse than you!, he panics and looks for your inhaler right a way and gives you a few puffs of it, once he notices you calming down and he will pout and pull you into his chest for a reassuring hug. proceeds to panic inside that it will happen again but never tells you instead he calms you down and helps your relax and forget it ever happened.
“Oh my god… thank god your ok-“
“Sorry…”
“Don’t be sorry sweetheart, let’s get you to bed you need to rest”
“But-“
“No buts! Of to bed!”
Jay
Tumblr media
Screams at first in shock and immediately gives you your inhaler, puffing air into your lungs. After you calm down he will scold the hell out of you and make sure you always have your inhaler physically on you because he doesn’t want you getting hurt when he or someone else isn’t around to help you.
“You better always carry you inhaler on you or else I’m hiring a bodyguard for you-“
“Jay I’m fine I don’t need a bodyguard-“
“Then prove it! >:(“
“Ok mom!”
Jake
Tumblr media
Omg don’t pls… he would have a heart attack, will panic so hard and freak out, calls Jay and asks him what to do, only to get yelled at through the phone. Does everything Jay tells hums and calms you down. He will calm down as well after a little bit. Once you thank him he nods and gets up walking to the couch and sitting down with a dazed face (stream drunk-daze people!) is freaking out because he didn’t know what to do and you could have been seriously hurt. Takes a emergency inhaler with him everywhere and takes a asthma care class for you 🥺
“You ok Jake?”
“You’re asking me if I’M ok?, you should ask yourself that-“
“Jake chill, thank you bubba~ you saved my life! Now come here and let me give you cuddles and play with your fluffy hair-“
*runs to you and lays on your lap like a puppy and let’s you love him-*
Sunghoon
Tumblr media
Blankly stares at you thinking your just trying to jokingly scare him, since y’all are playful like that but when he notices your eyes starting to roll back slightly he rushes to you and puffs your inhaler for you. Pats your hair and hums till you calm down and whispers that your going to be ok, once you feel better he gives you cuddles and sings you to sleep so you can hopefully dream peacefully and forget the traumatic experience you had that day. Acts like he didn’t do much but you see him as your hero you call him your Knight & Shining Armour and he will blush and be cocky for hours like 🙄
“I know I’m such a hot knight, your blessed to have my parents masterpiece~ you can always pay me back with a kiss~~”
“I regret calling you that”
“Eish- you brat-“
“Your brat~”
*sunghoon: 🥱🥺🙄*
Sunoo
Tumblr media
Will cry and give you your inhaler right away, helping you puff it into your lungs. Cries and holds you into his arms like if your dying, once your calmed down and feeing better he will pout at you, and you will have to calm him down and cuddle him and give him love (which he deserves!) because he deadass thought you were dying.
“*cries* no you don’t understand… *sniffs* I thought I lost my Sunshine *proceeds to cry more*”
“Awe ddeonu don’t cry come here I’ll cuddle you, I’m ok I promise! I’m sorry I scared you like that!”
“Cuddles? 🥺 *craws into your arms*”
Jungwon
Tumblr media
He would be so responsible and try his best to keep calm, would give you your inhaler and let you calm down, he would put you to sleep and then proceed to download and buy a inhaler tracker app and track your asthma. Kinda like your caretaker but also your boyfriend haha.
“Ok Jagi it’s time to take a puff! :]”
“Oh?- how did you know?”
“I have to know my soulmate well~ now take your puff!”
*takes puff*
“Good job Jagi!”
Ni-Ki
Tumblr media
Omg lord- idk if you could trust this kid- jk… maybe, he would definitely call Jay and ask for help and do exactly like he says, just like Jake did. Chapter 19: The Longest Night, Part 2
The return to the surface was a long and quiet one.
Joyner had a lot to think about and not much time to gather his thoughts. Freddy decided not to press him on the matter, but something about the situation made him a bit uncomfortable. He’ll have to bury that feeling down for now.
When they returned to the main building, everything was silent.
Freddy paused, looking out at the main stage area from the stairs. Silence. No music, no machinery. Just neon lights and utter silence. Something was wrong.
“Where are the others. . .”
Joyner stood beside the synthetic, tapping on his phone in frustration. “There’s no service here. Not even a wifi signal.”
“What?” Freddy turned, confused. “What did you just say?”
“The wifi is out, Freddy. It’s like a dead zone here! How the hell am I supposed to get into contact with my offi― Hey! Where are you going??” Joyner watched as the synthetic all but sprinted past him, quickly turning and following after him.
But Freddy didn’t look back. Something was wrong, and he needed to confirm his suspicions.
4:42am.
Freddy entered the Synthetic Charging bay and grabbed a Helpy tablet off the wall. It was exactly as Joyner said, the internet and other contact services were down and out of order.
“Freddy―” the detective heaved, gripping the door frame. He was out of breath, red in the face, and none too pleased. “Try to remember that I am a flesh and blood human and never take off running like that ever again.”
“I apologize Detective, but this is a serious matter.”
“What? The wifi being out? Wow, it feels like I’m talking to a teenager.”
“Detective, this is no time for jokes.” Freddy tried to manually reboot the internet from the tablet, but received nothing but errors. His brow furrowed.
“Can you at least explain what’s going on? And what’s with all of these freaky pods?” Joyner approached one and tried to look through the glass window to no avail. The inside was too fogged up.
“When synthetics enter sleep mode, we partially shut down and attach ourselves to the main network. It is how we download updates and new information.
“If something happens to the network while we are in this sleep, we enter Emergency shutdown mode.”
“So what’s wrong with that?” Joyner stepped away from the tube, walking over to one of the two empty ones to investigate instead. “So you guys just get put into a deeper sleep. Sounds like a good failsafe to have.”
“Yes. The problem, however, is that you would require a 5th level clearance or higher to override this function.”
“Sounds easy enough. Who in the building has 5th level or higher clearance?”
“As of right now; only Wilson.”
Joyner’s expression fell. “You mean, the guy who’s lifeless body we just sent to the morgue. . .?”
“I am afraid so. Normally we can request remote clearance, but―”
“The service and internet are down, so there’s no way to contact the outside.” Joyner groaned, covering his face with his hands. Freddy nodded slowly in response.
“We are without the other synthetics for the return journey.” He pulled a lever at the front of the room. All of the occupied pods exhaled steam from their lower vents, clearing the fog from within.
“I was afraid you were going to say that.” The detective approached one of the pods, seeing that this particular one had Foxy. “The more things change, the more they stay the same. . . What’s going to happen to them now? Are they going to die or something?”
“We are not living things, Detective.” Freddy placed his hand on the window of a different pod, frowning softly. Bonnie was the one resting within. “We cannot die.”
Joyner made a face, his lips a thin line and his expression fairly stoic. They weren’t living things, but they sure acted like it. The fact that Freddy can say that with a look of pain on his face made Joyner uncomfortable in more ways than one.
“Wait,” the bear turned, noticing the empty pods. “There is one that is empty.”
“Well, yeah, Fred. You’re standin’ right here.”
“That is not what I meant.” He pointed towards the second empty pod, which was far larger than the other ones. So much larger, in fact, that Joyner didn’t even notice it was supposed to be a pod. “There is one synthetic unaccounted for aside from myself.”
“That massive thing is a synthetic charging pod??” The detective looked at all of the notably smaller occupied pods. Bonnie, Chica, Roxy, Monty, Foxy. All of them were here. “Charlie? Is she the one missing?”
“HRMN.1 does not have a pod here. She does not require the same levels of energy as the rest of us.” Freddy replaced the Helpy tablet back onto the wall. “We shall go visit him in the west arcade. He may know what happened to cause the outage.”
“Alright? And who is this synthetic?”
“I feel you will like him, Detective. He is such a nice fellow.”
The West Arcade was, much like everywhere else in the Pizzaplex, relatively quiet. As quiet as an arcade can be, of course. The internet outage caused the arcade machines to flash ERROR messages on their screens while static white noise displayed in the background. Instead of music, faint mechanical humming was emanating from the many cabinets.
“Gah, holy shit,” Joyner winced, putting a hand over his ear. “How can you stand this? It feels like my brain is in a blender.”
“I do not process sounds the same as you. However, you will get used to the noise soon.”
“If you say so.” he lowered his hand. “Where’s this giant friend of yours?”
“He should be at his station. He is not one to wander around at night.” Freddy led him to the ballroom of the west arcade, looking forward towards the DJ booth. And saw nothing there.
“I thought you said he didn’t wander?” Joyner huffed, scratching the inside of his ear. Oddly enough, he really had gotten used to all of the background noise.
“DJ? Where are you, my friend? It is me, Freddy.”
“Freddy! Oh, are you a sight for sore eyes!” came a voice from above.
Above?? Joyner thought, looking up in time to see something large falling from the ceiling. It was a bluish-white blur, and the detective had even braced himself for some sort of impact. However, it was Freddy who seemed to have been collided with, as he notably grunted.
“Holy hell―”
Joyner knew synthetics were big. Even the ones his dad used to make were pretty large since they had to hold humans within them. But not only was this other synthetic tall, towering almost a head and half over Freddy, but he was also wide. Probably on account of the four arms he was sporting.
The DJ was currently gripping Freddy’s shoulders with two hands, while the other two were holding onto the bear’s biceps. He leant forward to be eye level with the other synthetic, his expression frantic.
“The internet shorted out! I couldn’t do my nightly updates!”
“I am well aware, DJ.”
“I― Oh, how did you make it out of your pod?” the blunette tilted his head, just now realizing that Freddy was standing here in front of him. He also noticed the detective, turning to look at him with his eyes that seemed to glow when the light hit them just right. It only served to unsettle Joyner further.
“DJ? I need you to focus.” Freddy spoke up, getting the other’s attention. “The outage is preventing us from getting the clearance we need to resuscitate the others. Do you recall what caused it?”
“I basically witnessed it! Oh, and I also know there was a brownout at Roxy’s Raceway shortly before,” DJMM finally released his grip on Freddy, crossing one set of arms while his own two hands placed themselves on his hips. “It happened while I was accessing the main network. This wasn’t too long ago, I’d say around 4:10 to 4:30.”
“That was during the time we were underneath the building. It must’ve been the generators that caused the brownout.” Joyner mused aloud, pulling out his phone to check on the status of the outage. Still inactive.
“A brownout does not explain the outage of the internet and service.” Freddy informed, to which DJMM nodded in agreement. “If that were all it took, then we would have had outages like this before.”
“I told you, I witnessed it! I noticed something else before the outage.” the DJ added, walking over to his turntable. The closer he got to it, the brighter its LEDs seemed to shine. “I saw it while I was in the main network looking for more updates. There was a download queued, and all of a sudden it kicked up and speed-downloaded.
“I didn’t think anything was off. You know, sometimes FazEnt pushes out those last minute patches. It all looked to be on the up-and-up, until the download finished. Everything got all corrupted, and then I got booted from the system. Whatever that download was, it uploaded a virus that shut down the internet. It’s also probably what’s keeping the internet from rebooting.”
“More viruses.” Joyner groaned, putting a hand to his temple to quell a blossoming headache. “This is too technical for me.”
“Why shut down the internet? If the goal was to cut off our contact to the outside, simply shutting down the cell service would suffice well enough.”
“Maybe they did it just to incapacitate you and the others.” the detective said, grabbing a chair from nearby and pulling it over to sit down. All of the walking and running was starting to take a toll on him. Joyner looked up, noticing both of the synthetics were staring at him. “What? It makes sense, I hope.”
“No, you brought up something that I had not thought of. I had felt this entire situation was odd. Why does it feel like we’re always one step behind?” Freddy looked up at nothing in particular, lidding his eyes.
“The only thing we didn’t count on was that woman turning herself in.” Joyner was suddenly in the mood to smoke again, but this time they were in the main building. There was no way he was going to sneak off for a little smoke break now, so he was stuck just sitting there. “And that technician dying.”
“We must figure out what is going on and we must do so quickly. I believe all of the answers we seek may be in the pizzeria beneath the building. However, we no longer have the advantage of the other synthetics nor the ability to call for help. We have been backed into a corner.”
“I’d love to help you, Fredman, but that’s one dance I’ll have to decline.” The DJ waved his hand dismissively. “I’ve seen the reports about what goes on in that sinkhole. People went missing down there! And you want to send in the cavalry? Sorry, I’ll take my chances up here.”
Freddy was admittedly fairly upset about that. There were only a few synthetics left to ask, but Sun and Moon would never listen to Freddy. They only listen to Foxy, and he was currently in deep sleep. That left HRMN.1, but could he really ask that of her after her maintenance? They needed help, and as of now, that was all they had.
“Welp, what now?” Joyner stood, although a bit slowly. Good thing he decided to move right then, if he had stayed in that chair then there was a good chance that he wouldn’t have wanted to go back down there too.
“We go to Parts and Service. There is still one person left to ask.”
“I never thought we would meet like this.”
Jaime found herself sitting in a dark room all alone. She held a tablet in her hands, and in front of her was a desk. A metal fan was placed on the right-hand side of said desk, casting a weak breeze. Jaime turned her head to the left.
There was a large window, and a large door beside it. There were two buttons on the doorframe, one for the door and one for the light. Jaime turned to the right and saw the same thing on the other side. It was almost perfectly symmetrical.
“Truthfully, I never thought we would meet. You are an oddity of the best kind.”
Jaime looked down at the tablet in her hands, seeing a map layout. When she clicked on a square, it brought up the camera feed for a room. She recognized this layout and these rooms from the conspiracy forums she used to frequent. This was Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.
“How on earth do you exist, dear child?”
As Jaime clicked through the cameras, she saw nothing. No synthetics, no people, nothing. So who was speaking to her? Why did it sound like he was in the room with her?
“Are you looking for me?”
She pressed the left door light and saw Bonnie standing in the door frame. At least, she thought it was Bonnie initially. This synthetic was indeed a rabbit, but he was huge. He had golden hair, tan skin, and a large purple bow. She slammed the door shut, locking him out.
“How this brings back memories.”
Jaime couldn’t speak. The voice talking must’ve been the Golden Bonnie, but it didn’t sound anything like the Bonnies she knew. This one sounded different, yet familiar.
The voice almost sounded like her father.
“You are the perfect specimen. Born from flesh and Remnant.
“But why? Why did Michael hide you from me? You were everything I was hoping to create.”
Jaime saw the Golden Bonnie outside of her right door, and she quickly shut it. The Golden Bonnie simply stood in the right window, staring at her. She refused to make eye contact with him.
Go away, she thought, chanting the words in her mind like a mantra. She focused on the tablet, pulling up the cameras again. He had disappeared from outside her door, but she had no idea where he was now.
“I wonder if he, too, lived in fear of what your existence meant for him. What it meant for you.
“With Remnant, you will not die. It is immortality, the essence of souls being bound forever to their earthly shell. I have spent years trying to perfect and harness it.
“Never in all my years would I have suspected that to create the perfect being, you need only Remnant and a womb to carry it. How ironic. I surrounded myself with death, only for my own son to best me with the creation of life.”
Golden Bonnie seemed to multiply. That, or he was just moving so fast it only looked like there were more than one. He was everywhere, descending upon both doors with reckless abandon. Trying to get in. Trying to corrupt.
“How fitting that the perfect being is someone of my blood. It only proves that all I have done, all that I do, is truly the correct path to take. This is God rewarding me for my deeds.
“Henry once said that the darkest pits of Hell had opened up, waiting to steal me away so that I may atone for all of my sins. And for a moment, I had believed him. He had turned my son against me. And then he killed him. Did you know that, my dear?
“Henry Emily killed your daddy and me.”
Jaime froze, her hand hovering over the door button. Golden Bonnie was outside, waiting for this moment. Waiting for her to make a mistake.
The rabbit walked into the room, having to duck just to enter the small office. He stood directly in front of the child, looking down at her with a slight grin on his face.
“It was not my intention to meet you here, but it was a fortunate change in my plans. I only wanted to get rid of the boy and those damned robots. After all, with them gone I could finally leave this place.
“Had you never stepped foot in this building, I may have never found you. But now you are here, my child.”
Golden Bonnie leant close to Jaime’s face, deep purple eyes locking with bright pink.
“Come to Grandpa. We will do great things together.” he reached out for Jaime, who was still frozen in shock. There was nowhere to run. She couldn’t scream, she could barely even breathe.
A hand reached out from behind Jaime and grabbed Golden Bonnie’s wrist, twisting his arm to the side and away from the child.
“Enough of this.” the owner of the hand declared, stepping forward into the light. It was a grown man dressed as a security guard, but he wore no hat. Not like that mattered, Jaime would have recognized him even if he had been wearing one.
Dad!
“You―” Golden Bonnie sobered, his expression becoming bored and vacant. “The disgrace shows himself again. Aren’t you supposed to be dead?”
“I could say the same about you.” Michael retorted, never breaking eye contact. “Why can’t you just stay dead? What good does any of this do for you? Why are you such a glutton for punishment?”
“And you!” he roared, becoming enraged. “You had Remnant! You could have lived forever! You even made what I had been trying to perfect all my life! All of that, and you threw it away for Henry?!” Golden Bonnie raised his other hand, which Michael quickly grabbed as well.
“Stop referring to Jaime like she’s some garage kit project! She is not an object. Loathe as I am to utter these words, but she is your grandchild! Even now, you refuse to let go of your ego. You still aim to hurt your own family!”
“Yes, you would know plenty about hurting your family, wouldn’t you?” William sneered, grinning madly as Michael noticeably winced from the sting of those words. “You who murdered your own brother. And you preach to me? If not for that audacity, I’d almost think you were adopted rather than my own flesh and blood!”
What was going on? Jaime couldn’t keep track of the conversation. Everything was going by too fast. It felt like her brain was going to explode. She covered her ears, the tablet loudly clattering to the ground.
“No matter how much you try to keep me at bay, it will all fail in the end. You’re both trapped here. This is my domain, I created this mindscape! All that happens within it bends to my will!”
Michael cast a glance behind him, his tense expression softening. He turned back to face his father, a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth.
“Did you forget already? I’m here. And I’m not bending to your will. Not anymore.” He shoved the synthetic back with all of his strength. “Run, Jaime! Open the doors and run! Once you reach the front doors, you’ll awake again.”
I don’t want to leave you.
“I’ll see you again when you wake up. Now go!”
Jaime stood despite the pain, opening the left door and sprinting out into the darkness.
“You fool!” William howled, fighting back against his son. “If the child steps into the dark, she’ll be swallowed up by the Nightmares! You’re sending her to her death!”
“The Nightmares won’t hurt Jaime.” Michael replied through gritted teeth, slowly losing his ability to actively hold the synthetic back. “After all, she’s just like them.”
“In what regard?!”
Jaime ran down the hallway, noticing a bright light with an exit sign over top of it. A doorway!
As she ran, glowing eyes peered at her from deep within the darkness, but they did nothing to approach her. She had wondered why there were no other synthetics in the building, but the truth was they were there, they just had no interest in hurting her.
“It’s simple: Jaime’s just another victim to you.”
Jaime dove through the doorway and awoke on the couch in Glamrock Freddy’s green room. She was breathing hard, drenched in sweat. Her blonde hair stuck to her neck and forehead, and worst of all, the headache she had had in her dream was still there. Though now it was just a dull ache.
She looked over at Gregory, who was still fast asleep.
That dream was so real, Jaime thought, hugging herself tightly. Her dad, and someone who called himself her grandpa yet disguised himself as Bonnie. She had no idea what to make of all of it, but she knew that she had to hurry.
She pulled out a pen and small notebook from her shoulder bag that was on the table nearby and immediately began to write down everything she’d heard from that dream. Jaime didn’t have time to think about the words while she was still in that office, but once she wrote them down she’d be free to study them in detail. Maybe there was some clue on how to free Michael as well.
Her father had saved her again. Now it was her turn to figure out how to save him.
Charlie awoke in a muted, generic looking room. To her right was a massive window that was slightly ajar. A gentle breeze blew through the room, causing the pure white curtains to flutter. She was enamored by the sight, lost in a daydream, when she suddenly realized there was a faint beeping coming from her left.
She turned, seeing a vital sign monitor. It was attached to her arm, and the beeping was her pulse. Was she in a hospital? What happened to her?
“How do you feel?”
Charlie looked towards the voice, realizing someone was sitting next to her. How had she not noticed them before? She heard their voice, but it seemed garbled. Even their face and body was blurred and strange. It felt like she was looking at them from behind thick, cloudy glass.
“You’ll be fine, your surgery was a success!”
“What happened to me?”
The figure sat in silence, looking at her. Even as Charlie squinted, she couldn’t make out who they were.
“Someone tried to hurt you, Charlie. He changed you, and then sent others to change you further. They wanted you to lose yourself, to forget who you really are.”
“I don’t understand.”
“You will someday.”
“Who are you?”
The figure was silent again. Charlie wished she could see their face. The slight movement told her they were emoting, but she had no way of seeing it in detail.
“It all comes to an end tonight.” The figure continued, pointedly avoiding Charlie’s question. “Charlie, do you remember Sammy?”
Of course she did. Sammy, her twin brother who was kidnapped and― wait, what? That wasn’t right. Sammy wasn’t the one who was taken that day. So why was that a memory that she could recall?
“I’m sorry,” the figure said, as if they could read her mind. “Those memories you have are nothing but lies. But you already know that. You learned from the real Charlie.”
The real Charlie.
“Charlie” looked down at herself, her body made in the image of a girl who never got to grow up. She began to feel self conscious, like she was living a lie. Which she had been, at some point before. This time was different.
“Charlie?”
“Please stop calling me that.” she pulled the blankets off of herself, swinging her legs over the side of the bed to stand. “That’s not my name. It never was my name.”
The figure reached out to her, but it didn’t try to actually grab her. Retracting the hand, they instead went back to talking.
“You don’t have to go.”
She ripped the IV and pulse monitors off of her arm and stood up.
“If you return, you’ll just be forced to suffer again. You may even die. This world can be anything you want it to be. You never have to worry about anything.”
HRMN.1 was no longer listening to the figure. She pulled the pins out of her hair, letting it fall loose and drape around her shoulders.
“Please! Think this through! You’re free from him now! Why would you ever want to go back!”
HRMN.1 ran a hand through her hair, combing it out with her fingers. It wasn’t brown like Charlie’s hair, nor was it the same fiery orange that she sported since she was reactivated. Her hair was white, pure white.
She walked towards the door and saw the thin mirror that was nailed to the nearby wall.
“You can’t even recognize yourself in the mirror.” The figure sighed, their voice filled with pain.
“I kinda like it,” Momo smiled, ruffling her own hair again. Piercing green eyes stared back at her. “So this is how I looked before Wilson modified me. . .”
“Please don’t leave.” The figure was beside her now. It grabbed her by her arm and held on tightly. So much so their fingers began to dig into her skin. “Just stay here with us.”
“Us?” HRMN.1 looked down at the figure, before looking up at the surroundings. There was no one else in the room.
The figure began to morph and blur, changing from something incomprehensible to the form of a woman. She was dressed like a clown, with bright red clothing, pale skin, and reddish orange hair tied in two giant pigtails. Her eyes were the same bright green as HRMN.1’s, and she had a red nose, red cheeks, and bright red lipstick. HRMN.1 had never met this woman before in her life, but somehow a name still fell from her lips.
“Circus Baby.”
The synthetic lunged at HRMN.1, wrapping her hands around her throat.
Both women tumbled to the ground with Baby on top. “You remember my name,” her face plates split open, revealing her endoskeleton. “I’m so touched.”
“Why are you doing this?” HRMN.1 grabbed onto her wrists, trying to pry her hands off. She wasn’t in danger of suffocating, she didn’t even need to breathe, but Baby was squeezing her neck so tightly it felt like she was trying to rip her head clean off.
“I told him that leaving you alive would cause nothing but trouble.” the clown growled, pressing her thumbs into the front of HRMN.1’s neck. “But no, he didn’t want to kill you. You were his revenge ticket, the best way to get back at Henry. He thought putting pieces of me and the others inside you would keep you asleep.”
HRMN.1 patted the ground beside her, searching for something, anything, that could get her out of this mess. Her fingers brushed against something wooden, and a quick glance showed it was a chair leg. She took hold of the leg and swung it, hitting Baby dead on.
“Whuh-??” she stumbled back, allowing HRMN.1 to swing at her again and put more distance between them.
“The music in my head that made me act and talk differently, that was you?” All of the events that happened throughout the past day and a half suddenly made more sense. “Why? I don’t understand!”
Baby groaned, getting up. There was a rage in her eyes that caused HRMN.1 to shudder.
“You don’t understand anything, it seems. But you’re just like me. There are things I don’t understand either.
“I don’t understand why he was so obsessed with you. With her. It was. . .awful.” Baby frowned, her face plates settling back in place. Her expression was sorrowful. “My father, obsessed with someone else’s daughter. Obsessed with a machine.”
HRMN.1 bit her lip, looking down at Baby with a pitying expression. However, she still held the chair in case Baby attacked her again. “What do you mean?”
Baby snarled, but the fire in her eyes was gone. “I feel everything. Disappointment, rage, jealousy. These emotions swirl within me, and I have no idea who they belong to anymore. Was it me, the real me? Or someone else?
“It’s like watching a movie, but through your own body. You’re just watching someone else live their life through your eyes.”
“Yeah, I can understand that part, at least.” HRMN.1 rolled her eyes in response.
“Do you ever want to feel loved by the person you admire? Is it really so bad for a daughter to crave love from her father?”
HRMN.1 lowered the chair, the words hitting far closer to home than she had expected. “Henry. . .”
“What? No! The man I’m talking about is far more brilliant than Henry. A truly magnificent man, and all I could do was watch. Watch with bated breath as he created marvelous, lifelike machines.
“A little girl’s father is her world. Her life blood. He instills upon her all of the knowledge and experience that she’ll need to make it through life, and she in return offers her heart and her love. It’s a beautiful lie, living in a glass house of emotions like that.
“Now imagine watching your father devote all of his time and attention on some machine. Something that doesn’t breathe, doesn’t bleed, and can’t love. It tears you up inside.” Baby looked like she was about to cry.
HRMN.1 knew those words, however. And all sympathy she had for this synthetic was replaced with disgust and anger.
“You’re talking about William Afton.” HRMN.1 spat, narrowing her eyes. “Sorry to break this to you, but William Afton is a creep. He’s incapable of love. All he does is cause pain and ruin people’s lives. You’re a fool to worship a man like that.”
Baby grew enraged, closing the gap between them and grabbing HRMN.1 by her shoulders. Luckily, she had the chair still, so she used it to keep Baby from getting too close.
“I should tear you limb from limb.” Baby hissed, her face plates opening to reveal saws and sharp mandibles. They sliced and poked at the chair, trying to reach HRMN.1’s face. “How can you say that? Aren’t you chasing the shadow of your dear old daddy just like me?”
“We may both be synthetics,” HRMN.1 used the chair to trap Baby’s head, shoving her backwards. “But unlike you, I was based on a real, breathing girl. You’re just a robot! Why are you obsessing over Afton??”
Baby calmly stepped back, pulling the chair off of her head and tossing it aside. “You don’t understand. We’re the same, you and I.
“It was the grand opening of Circus Baby’s Pizza World. I was so excited. I’d watched my father build Circus Baby from nothing. And the best part? He made her, just for me.
“But he wouldn’t let me see her. ‘You mustn’t be alone with Baby’, he would tell me. This wonderful creation, and I wasn’t allowed to see it. So I disobeyed my father.
“When no one was looking, I walked into the room to see her. She was so beautiful, so elegant. I wanted to be her, so so badly. I recall looking up at her, but I also recall looking down at a little girl. At Elizabeth. At myself.
“She gave me ice cream. I was overjoyed!
“When that little girl Elizabeth approached, I did what I was built to do. I killed her. And then everything went dark. When I awoke, I had gotten my wish. I was Circus Baby. And Circus Baby was me.” Baby smiled.
HRMN.1 felt her face twist with horror as the story began to sink in.
“Do you understand now? Us, two daughters, murdered and left to haunt the lifeless shells of machines. We’re the same, and that’s why Daddy put pieces of me in you. Only one of us is waking up, Charlie. And it’s not going to be you.” Baby's appearance shifted. Instead of her cute, bright red clown aesthetic, now she looked grungy and incomplete. Bits and chunks of scrap were loosely held together on her endoskeleton, and on her right arm she sported a huge claw with pointed teeth.
“My father is waiting for me, Charlie. You understand that I can’t keep him waiting.” She lunged at HRMN.1 again, her claw opened wide.
“Elizabeth, no!” HRMN.1 sidestepped in front of the door right as Baby stabbed at her, causing the synthetic to bury her claw into the wall. “You don’t have to do this. We don’t have to fight!”
“Oh, but we do.” Elizabeth ripped her claw free from the wall, turning to face her. “My real body is gone. It’s become something more. I don’t have anywhere else to return to. If I don’t take your place, then everything Daddy worked for will fall apart. You need to die, Charlie. And this time, stay dead!”
HRMN.1 looked around, lifting her arm and feeling the doorknob behind her. This time when Elizabeth lunged at her, HRMN.1 dove to the side while pulling the door open, causing the synthetic to sprawl out against the floor of the dark hallway.
“You made a mistake, Charlie.” Elizabeth sat up, turning to face HRMN.1. Her eyes glowed amidst the darkness. “Out here is where the Nightmares live. You’ll have to get past me and them, and they’ll rip you apart.
“You should have just let me take over your body.” Elizabeth laughed, standing up. From behind her, silhouettes of other synthetics began to form from the shadows. Multiple pairs of glowing eyes joined Elizabeth’s. “Now you’ll get torn to itty bitty pieces!”
The shadows approached closer but stopped when they were directly behind Elizabeth.
“Kill her,” she sneered, laughing louder.
HRMN.1 winced, waiting for the hands to grab her. She heard a scream, but it wasn’t her own. It was Elizabeth’s.
“Whu- What are you doing?! Let go of me! Let go of me right now!!” she cried as the shadows grabbed at her violently. They looked her in her eyes, and fear overcame her. “No! No no no!! Please!”
The shadows began to violently rip Elizabeth apart. Limbs, wires, and scrap were being tossed aside like garbage as the synthetic screamed and pleaded for help. HRMN.1 looked away, even when the screams stopped and the only sound left was the sound of metal being bent and dropped on the ground. When she finally looked back, the shadows were still focused on the body on the floor. All of them except for one.
HRMN.1 could tell that the shadow figure faintly resembled Foxy, but she couldn’t be sure. The shadow made eye contact with her, before pointing to the left end of the hallway. When she looked where it was pointing, there was an exit sign above a bright doorway.
“Uh, thank you.” she uttered, carefully walking around the carnage and hurried down the hallway. The shadows watched her go, their eyes glowing softly.
When HRMN.1 walked through the door, her eyes opened. She looked around, realizing she was back in the service cylinder. She had woken up? Momo sat up, rubbing her cheek.
“How do you feel?”
HRMN.1 tensed up, feeling a shot of deja vu course through her system.
“Momo?” Jin gently grabbed her shoulder, concerned. “Are you okay?”
It was just Jin. It was just Jin, that’s right. She was the one who was previously working on her. Momo exhaled heavily, pinching the bridge of her nose. Her body felt heavy, sluggish.
“What did you find?”
“There were three things I found. The first two were chips that Wilson had modified. One of them was in your brain and it served no purpose for your programming, so I got rid of it. The second one made this weird humming noise. I shut it off and put it back, but when I did, the strangest thing happened.” Jin pulled a hand mirror from a nearby drawer.
The first chip must’ve been the music that had been keeping me asleep, Momo thought. But what was the second one?
Jin held the mirror in front of Momo, and when she looked in, she saw herself staring back. Her white-haired, green-eyed self.
“Oh!” she exclaimed, twirling her hair around her fingers. It was one of those chips that altered her appearance! She had thought there was only one, but Wilson must’ve installed a second one when he was too lazy to actually edit her appearance. “What was the last thing?”
Jin grinned, leaning forward. “You didn’t notice?”
Momo squinted at the mirror, trying to find something out of place. Aside from her hair and eyes, everything else looked to be the same.
“It’s your eyes.” Jin laughed, “Remember how they were pink with cogs? That was a real change, not something that was cloaked by that humming chip. I managed to locate your original eyes and swap them out.” She nodded towards a case on one of the metal trays nearby, which had two eyes laying on them. Just as Jin said, they were Momo’s previous eyes.
“What do you think they did?” HRMN.1 asked, walking over to the tray and gently poking the eyes with her finger.
“No idea, but I’m going to destroy them just in case.”
HRMN.1 narrowed her eyes. All of these changes, planned by Wilson and William. Then there was Elizabeth, who tried to take over her body. All of it made her angry. She grabbed the eyes and crushed them in her hands, watching as the hardware fell to the ground.
“Momo?”
“Jin, do you have something to write with?”
The woman fumbled a bit, turning and grabbing a tablet. She then nodded to HRMN.1, who finally made eye contact with her. “What’s going on?”
“I have some things I need to recount and I want them written down. Can you take notes for me?”
Jin and HRMN.1 were recounting their notes when Freddy and Joyner walked in. Even Freddy was taken aback when he saw Momo.
“HRMN.1, is that you?” he asked, dumbfounded. The bear almost didn’t recognize her. “Hmm. This procedure was more invasive than I had initially expected.”
“Yes, it’s still me. Jin fixed me right up. Do you like my hair?” She laughed as Freddy gently ran his fingers through her alabaster hair.
Joyner stood near the entrance, blinking slowly. It was Charlie. It really was Charlie. She looked different, of course. She had ears and a tail, white hair and green eyes, but it really was her. Joyner bit his lip, unable to find the words. He had no clue what he would even say to her. There was no guarantee she would even remember him!
“This was a mistake.” He turned, heading back to the service elevator.
“Sammy?”
Joyner froze. God, she even sounded like Charlie. He slowly turned, looking over his shoulder. HRMN.1 was walking towards him, her hands folded over her abdomen. She smiled softly, tilting her head.
“I recognized you. I mean, you’re Charlotte’s twin. We look the same, so of course I’d know you anywhere.”
Joyner gestured vaguely, looking her up and down. “You’re older but you look just like her. I can’t even believe it. Dad built you?”
HRMN.1 nodded. “I was one of four. But yeah, Henry built me. If it makes you feel better, he abandoned me before I was completed. He had. . .second thoughts.”
“No, it doesn’t make me feel better. He brought you to life and then tried to kill you. Isn’t that what the fire was for?
“I’ll never know what was going through his head, but he built you to be Charlie. No matter what happens, you’re still my sister.” Sammy extended his arms, ushering HRMN.1 in for a hug which she happily accepted.
“I know we technically never met, but I missed you, Sammy.”
“I missed you too, Charlie. So much. And I’m sorry. I’m sorry for fighting with you back then. If I had just apologized sooner, maybe things would’ve been different.” He squeezed her gently. She felt so real. She was warm, and her body wasn’t obviously solid like he expected a synthetic to be. It was almost like she was the real Charlie. He felt tears well up in his eyes as the emotions overcame him.
HRMN.1 reached up, gently wiping his eyes. She smiled, something genuine and warm, her own eyes glossed over with tears. “Don’t put that on yourself. It wasn’t your fault. This is because of William.”
“Speaking of William,” Jin interrupted, motioning to the tablet. “There’s something we need to fill you guys in on.”
“Same with us. Shall we compare notes?”
Gregory awoke to the sound of a pen scratching against paper.
“Freddy?” he asked, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. Across from him sat Jaime, who made an apologetic face.
“No, just me. Sorry. Did I wake you up?”
“No, I was just taking a nap anyway. What’s going on?” He sat up straight, pointing at what Jaime was writing.
“I had a really weird dream. But it felt way too real to be just a dream, you know? So I’m writing it all down so I don’t forget it.” Jaime put down the pen, flipping the pages. At least 2 full pages of notes. It was all she could recall, but it was a good start. Once she figured out what everything meant, then she could hopefully help her dad.
Gregory didn’t really understand why she had to write down her dream, but he figured it was just a Jaime thing. He looked at his Faz-watch and noticed two familiar blips on the map. Freddy and Momo! They both looked to be in Parts and Service too.
“Jaime! I think Momo’s maintenance is done, she’s up and Freddy is down there with her!”
“Oh perfect! Let’s go see them. I need to tell my mom about my dream anyways.” She closed the notebook and stuck it into her bag before leaning down to put her shoes back on.
Once ready, the two began their walk to Parts and Service.
“Jaime.”
She paused, looking around. It was the voice again, the same voice from her dream. It must’ve been her dad. He was trying to reach out to her again!
Gregory kept walking, as if he didn’t hear a thing. Was it just in her head?
“Jaime.”
“Where are you?” she whispered, walking over to a room beside Monty’s green room. She waited, hoping to hear the voice again. It had sounded like it was coming from this room, but she had never seen it before.
“Jaime.” the voice repeated from beyond the door.
She pushed the door open, carefully stepping inside. It was dark aside from the faint glow of the 5 pods around her. They were charging pods for the synthetics. Jaime walked past the tubes, looking within each one to see who was inside. Roxy, Chica, Monty, Bonnie, Foxy. They were all here, asleep.
“Jaime.” The voice was louder, coming from another door near the back of the room.
“I’m here, Dad. Where are you?” She approached the door, looking up at it. It had a handle, not a doorknob. So it must be one of those sliding doors? Jaime grabbed the handle and pulled with all of her might. Slowly, the door slid open.
Upon closer inspection, it looked to be a closet for the synthetics to store their costumes. It wasn’t large enough to hide anything human-sized, so Jaime felt her hopes get dashed. Had she imagined the voice after all?
“Jaime.”
The voice sounded like it was directly in front of her. She reached into the closet, her hand being drawn to a certain costume in particular. Digging into one of the pockets, she pulled out a Bonnie plushie, however it wasn’t the normal colors. It looked greenish yellow, but didn’t seem to be dirty or painted. Maybe it was a special edition?
“You’ve found me~” the voice softly cooed, Jaime knowing now that it came from the plushie. She smiled, hugging it tightly.
“I found you, and I’m not going to let you go. I’m going to find a way to save you.” She stuck the plushie into her bag and quickly left the room.
“There you are!” Gregory called from behind Jaime as she was shutting the door. She jumped, whipping around before calming down once she saw his face.
“Gregory! You scared me.”
“Me? You’re the one who wandered off! Be more careful, okay? We shouldn’t be alone. Let’s go see Freddy and the others.” He turned and continued walking, not seeming to have noticed where Jaime had come out of.
Jaime took one look at the door before adjusting her shoulder strap and running after Gregory.
5:31am.
The children joined the others down in Parts and Service. With Jaime’s recollection of her dream, the group had more information to go off of.
“Good grief―” Jin sat down, putting a hand at her temple. She was taking this information hard, of course. The idea of her husband locked in a dream battle with her father-in-law was just a bit too much for her. Joyner grabbed a water bottle from a nearby vending machine and handed it to her.
“It looks like all of the major pieces are in place.” Freddy announced, looking at the others. “We are the only ones left who can investigate further. It seems like we will find all of our answers if we investigate the pizzeria underneath the building.”
“The common theme looks to be that everything will come to an end tonight. What could that mean?” HRMN.1 asked, tying her hair up into her normal high ponytail.
“There’s only one way to find out!” Gregory hopped up, an excited glint in his eyes. “We head down into the sinkhole!”
“Gregory,” Freddy leant down to the boy’s height, putting a hand on his shoulder. “This will be dangerous. We have no idea what we are dealing with. I may not be able to protect you. Do you understand? Do all of you understand?”
The boy nodded, and the others agreed along with him. There was no turning back now.
“Then let us go. The one behind it all is awaiting us.”
