How it starts with just one half of dialogue, how it's at first Jamie singing on his own then Cathy joins in and they have a beautiful, sweet duet, only for the melody of I Could Never Rescue You to start playing to remind us this relationship is doomed and then the way it ends with Cathy singing the missing half of the dialogue Jamie started the song with.

watching tlfy (2014) and the first act makes me so torn bc on the one hand... baby!jamie is adorable and i ship him and cathy so hard, but i also see how badly cathy is hurt by him and its this dichotomy of "yes! aww" and "no! poor baby get out before he hurts u!"

It wasn’t that she didn’t like her roommate, it had just been so long since she’d lived with someone she wasn’t actively dating or married to. Everything was still fresh and she wasn’t entirely sure how to interact with someone she wasn’t particularly close to. They were platonic, of course, acquaintances at the very least, but not attached at the hip or anything. “The least you can do is get a napkin or something if you’re gonna eat doritos. I don’t want my couch to turn orange. If I wanted an orange couch, I would have bought an orange couch.”

it’s based on the musical “the last five years” like i mentioned before and i have the full plot planned out and know how it’s gonna be paced. now i just have to write it lol

i’ll give a layout of what the first part of the story is gonna look like just so ppl who haven’t seen tlfy aren’t spoiled for anything

it begins at the end where we see a divorce obviously being hinted at, but then we flashback to five years before

kurt and blaine are college graduates from nyu living in new york (they met during their senior year)

blaine is a writer and kurt is an actor (or trying to be). blaine gets a call saying that his agent was able to get backing for his book publishing which is great!!

what isn’t as great is that while blaine is getting more and more famous, kurt is finding it harder and harder to book acting roles.

this causes tension obviously especially when they move back to ohio (which kurt HATES bc he hates ohio and acting roles are more plentiful in new york)

it continues to spiral from there but i don’t wanna give too much away!!

Okay I knew I’d answered something about this in a previous WIP game and turns out that was ALSO YOU, so I respect very much your commitment to this 😂

This is going to be a monster of a project so I’m not really letting myself look at it till after angstapalooza lol, but for those who know the show, enjoy the translations of songs/vibes to POV — I’m not kidding about it being a loose adaption so these aren’t necessarily story beats but definitely emotional beats!
