I love drawing Krang Leader and I have no idea why.

The Rottmnt boys are powerful weapons of war, so their enemies are roided af behemoths that tower over people like bugs (seriously, look how tall krang leader is compared to rottmnt raph, jesus) and squash them just as easily. And I find that funny.

And terrifying.

Which is why Rottmnt is my favorite.

After watching the Rise movie, I have questions. But the biggest of them all is what the fuck is that light blue glowy stuff that April found? Because I highly doubt that it's some kind of herbicide.

Well I think I have an idea. One that’s probably crazy, but this is TMNT we’re talking about. TMNT is known for its crazy shit and Rise is no different.

So my theory is one that’s been cooking in my head since I first watched Rise. I was reminded of it when I watched Rise again, but it has gotten stronger after watching the movie. And that theory is that the beings who watch over the Hidden City and protect it are the Utroms. With the Council of Heads being the highest ranked of the Utroms.

The Council of Heads also reminds of another trio that is in charge of a secret non-human society; The Council of Three from TMNT 2003.

The Council of Heads share parallels with the Council of Three. First, there are three of them. Second, both consist of two masculine members and one feminine member. Third, they are the highest ranked in their society and are the ones in charge. Fourth, both talk in sequence (one says a couple of words in a sentence then the other and followed by the other).

Why I think that the light blue glowy stuff is connected to the Utroms is because the color light blue is tied to two different cartoon incarnations of the Utroms, TMNT 2003 and TMNT 2012. The Utroms from both TMNT 2003 and TMNT 2012 use exo-suits that have light blue coloring, especially in terms of the hair of the human skin covering of their exo-suits. While the 2012 Ultroms also use light blue with their logo, technology and buildings.

Now in a majority of the incarnations of the TMNT, the turtles are indirectly created by the Utroms. Though sometimes it doesn’t seem so at first. Like with TMNT 2012. The 2012 turtles were created by the mutagen created by the Kraang. But as you find out later in the show, the 2012 Kraang are the same race as the Utroms and are just a subset of their race.

I bring this up because although Baron Draxum was the one to create the Rise turtles, he did so using Empyrean as one of the main ingredients of the mutagen he created. And Empyrean is the name for the mutagen created by the Krang when they first arrived on earth. Meaning that the Rise turtles were indirectly created by the Krang since Draxum couldn’t have mutated them without using Empyrean.

Though Empyrean is a highly rare substance that is tightly controlled by the Council of Heads. That tight control might be because the Council of Heads knows how dangerous it is. Probably because they know that it was created by the Krang. And how else would they have known it was created by the Krang unless they are Utroms?

But how can the Krang and Utroms both exist in Rise? Simple. A setup similar to the one in TMNT 2012.

In TMNT 2012 Utroms and Kraang are the same species. The 2012 Kraang were created by the first Kraang, Kraang Prime, who was an evil scientist that enslaved their people and turned them into a type of hive mind that they control. They want to dominate others and wage war. While the 2012 Utroms are the ones that broke away and resisted Kraang Prime and formed their own faction. They are benevolent and want peace.

So in Rise it could be that the Krang and the Utroms are the same species that splint off into two different fractions. The aggressive, cruel and warmongering Krang. And the kind, peaceful and intellectual Utroms.

Since the Rise Krang like to conquer so much, it could be possible that they made the Utroms flee their planet. Though I don’t know who made contact with earth first. It could have been the Utroms. They could have fled to earth to escape the Krang, or came to earth because the Krang destroyed their planet, and then the Krang followed after them. Meaning that since they had nowhere to go after sealing the Krang, the Utroms decided to stay on earth. That, or the Utroms knew that the Krang couldn’t be held forever and stayed on earth to help keep it safe if the Krang ever escaped.

Or it could be that the Utroms had been trying to protect and save the planets that the Krang conquered. So when the Krang came to earth, the Utroms followed after them to save earth. And once the Krang had been dealt with and sealed away, the Utroms stayed just in case the Krang ever escaped.

(The Council of Heads knew who the threat to yokais was that the prophecy spoke of. Perhaps the prophecy spoke of the Krang? Because the future that Casey came from showed that the Krang were a threat to everyone, yokais and humans.)

Regardless of either scenario, the bottom line is that both Krang and Utrom come to earth. The Krang got sealed (possibly with the help of the Utroms). And the Utroms stay on earth to make sure that the Krang never escaped, and if they do escape, have countermeasures in place.

What could those counter measures be? Possibly the light blue glowy stuff. After all, it not only removed an eye and chunk of the female Krang, but also destroyed the Krang mutation growths that were trying to crush the battle shell with Donnie and Mikey inside.

Maybe the Utroms made their own version of Empyrean? Like an anti-Empyrean? Or it could be retro-mutagen? Or a chemical compound that only affects the Krang? Because I highly doubt that herbicide could cause that much damage to anything Krang related. Those fuckers were shown to be pretty damn tough.

But why wasn’t it used in the future that Casey came from? It could have helped defeat the Krang. Yet considering when the Krang were released, there might not have been enough of it. Maybe there was a limited supply that ran out? Or the Utroms never got the chance to use it? Or was the version of the light blue glowy stuff that April used was an imperfect version? Or did the Krang quickly make sure to take out places that produced it so it could no longer be used against them?

I have no idea and I’m just guessing at this point. Which is why I would really love a third season. Please can we get a third season that goes more in-depth of the Krang, and possible Utroms? And also an explanation of the light blue glowy stuff? I really want to know what the light blue glowy stuff is damn it!

How did Rise Kraang escape the prison dimension anyway? If he went through the same portal Leo did, wouldn't he have ended up closer to the turtle and found him sooner?
