SO. THIS IS KIND OF A LOADED QUESTION FOR ME i have had a less than stellar experience with both fandom and self shipping so im still very very very shy and afraid 2 talk about my f/os too much so please be niceys thank u <3 putting this under a cut just in case it gets really long LMAO

so. i have multiple f/os that i consider my mains, but my longest term one is actually antisepticeye !!!! i cannot help it i was so deep in youtuber fandom in 2016 and my brain latched onto him like a baby duckling and now he lives here forever . however i do not associate myself with that fandom at all anymore so he has basically become like an oc to me LMAO. i had a reallt specific fanon version of him that i used to draw all the time and a backstory that i had basically written out entirely and then when my bad fandom stuff happened i decided "nvm you guys cant have him anymore hes mine now" i have been shipping with him sinceeee i believe late 2016/early 2017 ?? yea!!! hes my fucked up little guy forever i love him so much. hardcore comfort character do not mind the fact that he is covered in blood ans has probably murdered people. hes silly <3 my tag for him on this blog is the knife emoji (🔪) and i dont really have an s/i i just ship him with. Myself.

could you do a tldr after redacted do their thing? i dont follow many people from this fandom on twitter and im too scared to try and dive into it rn when shit is happening.

as of right now the situation is this:

- yesterday a twitter user made a series of tweets complaining about the "scitties" trend. redacted finds it a ridiculous thread and picks it apart in the discourse channel, but doesnt engage

- i make a tumblr post saying scar would think scitties is funny (another user adds tags that are good explaining how fandom content doesnt need to be filtered for cc consumption)

- today, a member of hermittwt dmed multiple people telling them to stop following mojo chojo

- this person cited the following claims: mojo being a hermitshipper, drawing nsfw, and reblogging art from a dsmp shipper who has drawn NSFW of c!tubbo

- the fact is that mojo has stated (back in November here on tumblr) that they dont like drawing nsfw and at most their art will be suggestive. also, OP (the one trying to call ppl out) said the thing about c!tubbo in a dm and then couldnt find evidence of it so that really goes to show how

- at least one member of redacted challenges the dm they get. they make a small amount of progress but the damage has already been done

- redacted is sick and tired of hermittwt being so weird about shipping

- multiple members of redacted are relatively large artists in the fandom and we think it would be funny to just start going "surprise! you're weird for being so concerned about this"

- members of hermittwt who are not in redacted start to see our tweets and find they agree, that theyve been sick and tired of the discourse/negativity for a long time

- the mod of the 3rd life quote bot has revealed herself as emma @strifesolution who some of you may recognize as being a longtime yogs fan (fandom is normal abt shipping and does not harass people) and as being the guy to coin the treebark ship name

tl;dr we think hermittwt needs to touch grass and we're tired of being nice. maybe later or tomorrow I'll be able to put together a more coherent timeline of events, or maybe my friend will just make a dont stop the party edit and that will explain everything

for example im at a spot in life rn where i have several difficult decisions i need to make and im the one who has to make them bc they’re about my life specifically

but both sides of the decisions have so many cons and i need someone else to tell me what to do but im too scared to ask bc i dont want ppl to be like ohbur beingvirrational

and i have stuff that i can easily fix but theres drawbacks andnim so scared i just avoid fixing anything for fear of messing up and i wish i had the strength to ask for help

im jsut rambling sorry im just so tired of always feeling like a burden even tho idt i am and needing sm support and also constantly denying my issues to avoid em so im just. here. if thsi all sounds dumb you can igmore me but if i relate to anyone hi you’re not alone <3

You're definitely not annoying me or anything like that. I can see how it would be so difficult to have both dpd and avpd, craving guidance, but afraid of reaching out and being criticized or rejected, so you just don't. In some ways I think the combination of avpd and ocpd put me in a sort of opposite position since I am resentful of not being able to handle things my way, but at the same time, if something is unfamiliar to me, I do feel like I'm going to completely mess it up (because obviously I'm incompetent), so I get scared and feel like I need help... then if I get it, I feel like I'm being resented and scrutinized the whole time.

hi, my love!! i didn't take it the wrong way <3 i can explain what i mean.. so, this time it's not as much about interaction bc everyone's been very sweet and talks to me despite holiday season! i still have more msgs than i can answer (keep it all coming tho pls hehe :P), so the issue this time is more just.. how empty tumblr is. i scroll through my dash once and am already at a post that was posted/rbd an hour ago bc nobody's around (ccs and readers alike!!).

so many of my mutuals have left tumblr and so many readers have, too (i miss you all sm btw sigh) and watching tumblr die has been so disheartening. it's gotten very dry? and then, and that's a me problem, i also get so damn insecure all the time. i keep feeling like im unwanted here and get vv scared talking to people, bc there was so much negativity and hate on here for the past year that i constantly think twice before approaching someone. i just hate overthinking like, "does xy hate me? should i rather not interact" lol which sucks bc i like talking to people so much and used to be the most social butterfly.

so the loneliness just comes from the overall desert-like feeling on here combined with my own fears that tumblr's better off without me. it's stupid 😞

also! idc about notes tbh! e.g. i enjoyed dropping cmi11 more bc it got more love than idk cmi9.5 despite getting less likes. sometimes the 'getting thousands of likes' is super cool but also the problem bc of the lack of reblogs etc. (like there's a big difference between e.g. cmi9 and cmi11, even in the comment section). the only thing i wanna say about interaction, though, is: whenever i do attendance checks before posting a chapter, a lot of ppl (and new names) comment that they're excited — id absolutely love it if you reacted to the actual drop, too bc that's often met by silence by those who are super thrilled at first 🥺 and taglist readers!! where are you guysss lol lmk if you read, too!! writing is such a difficult hobby to indulge in, so writers just want to feel like people see it and that their effort is appreciated, even if thousands of words meet just a paragraph of feedback — we still love it 🥺 that's all. atm i don't have more to say about interaction bc everyone's been the sweetest.

I haven't really asked anything in a while but recently I tried reading red white and royal blue but could barely get a quarter of the way through because its so graphic. Im starting to think I may be ace-spec at least, as things like this bother me very much, and I have had to put down many books recommended to me (like rwrb) bc its just too much for me. I feel bad bc I bought the book and everything and it just seems like a stupid reason not to read it, but I know I can't because its pretty upsetting for me. Sorry this is kind of a lot I just dont really know what to do, and again I think I reblogged a post about the rwrb show coming out (before I even got the book) bc Id heard of it and a lot of ppl who like the osemanverse also like it, and now im worried that ppl think I enjoy reading such graphic things when I really dont, probably because I am ace-spec and repulsed

dont read the book if it makes you uncomfortable. trust me. i know how awful it feels to not be able to read a book reccommended to me because of how graphic it is. i feel weird that i cant read it and im missing out. i havent really tried reading too much but im too scared of not being able to get through it. its not a stupid reason i promise! and dont worry if you bought it. i have sooo many unread books on my bookshelf (for other reasons) that i dont plan on reading. you can donate it or sell it or give it to a friend. and honestly i wouldnt think too much about people thinking youre into reading that stuff. i promise no one looked into it that much.

About my work!!! Yes, the holidays are worldwide as far as I'm concerned but since my job has a flexible working hours and it's remote, it sounds good but I actually never stop working. I work with advertising and we spend money to upload ads and even for every time someone clicks in our ads, so I have to check the data from time to time to make sure the incoming compensates the money we're spending. If not, I have to take it down and change the campaign 100% it's maddening

the diet cult is a solution to a nonexistent problem.

which is great, capitalism loves a solution without a problem. Or rather, selling you a solution to a problem they tell you you absolutely have.

so they make everyone believe that losing weight is super desirable for some reason.

it can only really be accomplished by disordered eating and/or exercise habits. (there have been so many studies showing that long term weight loss is not possible for most people, unless they develop disordered eating or exercise habits.)

the problem? people get hungry cus their bodies need food!

the solution? try this pill, that shake, such-and-such supplement. join this group with like minded diet cultists people who want to lose weight! you have to pay a membership fee and it'll try to dictate every bite you put in your mouth and sell you special recipes and ingredients and build an entire economy based on your low self-esteem, cus society tells you anything above stick-thin is too fat.

it's a cult aimed at controlling your entire life, where you shop, what you buy, what you eat. it's super good at it?? to the point where like. the majority of women in western countries seem to be falling for it?? (can't speak for other places but i imagine it's big elsewhere too)

to the point where many fat people believe they don't have worth unless they lose weight,

and many thin people believe that the worst thing that could happen to them is to gain weight,

when in reality, weight is morally neutral. being fat protects you from some diseases, actually. socio-economic status is a better predictor of health than weight. etc. etc.

fat ppl and fat liberation activists have been talking about this for so fucking long. i really don't know what it will take to get people to listen.

Yeah, your fear is valid. A lot of people in this fandom can be incredibly defensive of Thomas and seem to have a mentality where he can do no wrong. And criticising him can result in a lot of hate. I've been lucky enough to avoid that since I'm a pretty small blog and mostly of my ts critical posts are ones I've reblogged, but I definitely understand where you're coming from.

And in terms of what Thomas actually did, I know some nd people aren't upset about it. And that's fine. But the ones who are have every right to be since both using infodumping as an insult and calling a jelly "Cranic attack" (which he still hasn't said anything about) are pretty insensitive things to do.

Not to mention, I think another reason so many people are so upset isn't just because of these two things but because there's been a pattern of Thomas messing up and then sweeping whatever happened under the rug (the animators situation, the lack of sensitivity warnings before POF, the meet and greets, etc) and all of that can get incredibly frustrating after a while.

GOSH this is a lot of questions, lemme give it my best shot.

1.) I sometimes still post art on my art instagram, but I prefer not to cross the beams of that and my tumblr so much. If someone rlly wants the handle tho, feel free to ask. 

2.) If this means like...nicknames, too many to count. One of my first URLs was something like “pensword,” which was a reference to Percy Jackson!

3.) I was KINDA in it in 2017 when the first movie came out, but it didn’t hold my attention too much. In September 2020, I really got into IT, tho! I got into it because I realized it was coming up on a year since I saw the second one in theaters (during a wind advisory night in the city I go to college, on Halloween). For a couple of silly reasons (my ex belittling IT a little and me being weirdly internalized homophobic abt it) I was scared to enjoy it publicly haha

4.) My favorite ship in the fandom, ofc, is Reddie! I am kinda basic so I also really think Ben and Bev are sweet. I also really liked Patty and Stan together in the book... they were so achingly sweet together that the bath chapter made me cry for a HOT MINUTE.

Richie is my all time favorite character for reasons I could probably write like 50 pages on! Some of those reasons are like super-duper personal lol so I pull punches on just dumping them on my blog haha! I just really really related to him for a lot of reasons (the humor coping mechanism and the werewolf thingy, to name a couple) so it was only natural I latched onto that boy and went full send kinnie moment!

Eddie is my second favorite bc I love him and wanted the best for him (I don’t want to start disc horse on tumblr, but my gf and I have schemed abt who should have kicked it at the end and it ain’t him). I also have a soft spot for kid Ben in the book, bc I really thought he was a sweetheart (I mean, cmon, walking around whispering Bev’s name? Adorable! Hiding away in libraries? Relatable!)

5.) I’ve done a bunch of stuff! This blog has a ton of IT content. I have made a bunch of fan art (most of which hasn’t been posted sdjbvkdsjbvk). I have written a couple fanfics (a finished oneshot and one unfinished longer one that will...probably stay that way). I have a reddie playlist on spotify, too.

6.) There’s been a few people who’ve done some IT stuff I’ve really liked! Uhh @stitchyarts  wrote some fics and has done some beautiful art to go with it that I really liked!! @skelesocks did some HELLA charming art, tho is now mostly Queen blog. No shade there, I have a Queen blog, too, lol. Ask for the URL if you want it. Both of them focused on the miniseries tho.

There’s a couple artists who have done Reddie stuff I have really liked, too, which is super inspiring. here’s a few of those: @trashcanprince @mxgicdave @meowsteryyy ..... tbh fave IT blog of all time tho has to be my gf, em, @dr-kaspbrakmd , bc she got me full swing obsessing and also it was a big bonding thing for us early into the relationship *pauses for crowd to say AWWWWW*

7.) Assuming this means fanfics, like I said, a lot of Stitchy’s works, especially Tinted Windows and TV Guides (which now i rlly want to re-read lol). I kinda have a hard time with fanfic reading bc im picky and sometimes it’s better to daydream my own stories. The other Reddie fics I’ve liked will make yall get the shepherd’s hook and yoink me off stage for public indecency for sure so I’m gonna leave that to ur imagination <3

8.) I feel positively heinous and pick-me trying to get ppl to read my old reddie fics that I wrote during the crushing weight of crippling lonliness so no. they r also not rlly that good so you’re welcome <3

9.) No actually! I have thought about it. I have also schemed the idea of starting my own reddie zine and being super choosey about who gets in but that’s just me wanting to curate content I like lollll.

10.) uhhh decorum, understanding of complex relationships/emotional situations, and the common sense not to fetishize gay men <3 that sounds rlly snotty but there’s some activity tm in this fandom that yucks me out big time. Also, I wish more ppl would have seen the miniseries/read the book but that’s just me being choosy.

I stopped posting because I started to get tired and decided to take a quick break, and that break ended up going on for months without me realizing it. Ever have something you like to do, but once you stop you find it hard to pick up? That happened to me. RIP.
