I haven’t seen others talking about it but shot out to Maya from Maya and the Three for being such a great character: from the very beginning she is shown to be rowdy and tomboyish,but instead of becoming a completely different person by the end of the series she works on her flaws (such as impulsivity and lying) without changing these aspects of herself. She took her mothers advice to be more diplomatic without putting down her macuahuitl. She loves her friends,family and Zatz equally,without one outweighing the other. Her love for them motivated her to finish off Mictlan.She is silly,she is heroic,she is strong,she is loving.She is the sun.

Happy Birthday Portugal

Despite of the very fast art, hope you like it~ I made it with all my love. Happy Day portuguese friends!

As last year, I put them a lot of symbols, so I'll explain this mess a little bit:

In my headcanon, nations have several phases in important and formative points of their histories, so I chose the roman province (Lusitania) and the islamic Portugal, under the influence of Cordoba's Caliphate. The contrast of Faiths on him (The Pagan, The Islamic and the Catholic) is the point of the picture. That is why I divided Port in a trinity, too.

In the same idea, some phases are not humanoid; his primal form, before being the tribe of "Lusus", is a dragon; which is in the shield since then, and of course a sea dragon or a marine serpe, like a big spirit around himself. So yes, deep down he is a dragon~.

The appeareance of the central figure, on the other side, represents three mixed phases: The Templar, Age of Discoveries (The Navigator, as I call him), and the modern Portugal after WWs. No more an Empire, but with blue blood yet, with the pose of a king. Clothes are not historical accurate because they are a mix of several ages: Vasco Da Gama's style; some parts of templar armor (the arms and the sword, the cross in the chest); imperial green but at the same time with a touch of modern militar uniform; everything sharing flag's colors with the cape and the throne.

The little one is more savage and quiet, but protective, since that's the memory of Portugal about himself being Lusitania: only to protect his little brother of Rome. He's longer hair and simple cloth.

The provocative teenager is also a little bit pirate, because he has the old loved eye scar (which for me Port had it, but time erased it) and he stole the golden scimitar from his old tutor (aka Hassan, the older cousin of Ottoman), and killed him it 8D.

Also! lavender is not in a flower form this time, but in the color of the hat and the handcuff; with them, some cock feathers (black, red and green), part of the symbolic animal he has.

The compass, the most famous instrument for discoveries, is on the floor; but the sword points it with human blood. I think I don't need to explain why.

And of course, the coast (the floor) and the sea beyond; and the phrase of the country at his feet.

dude i stopped keeping up with kotlc a long time ago but for some reason it periodically returns to consume my thoughts. oh my god send help. “Take it as a compliment,” Seth suggests as he opens a bottle of beer and hands it to Kate. The bottle is cold as hell, and Seth’s fingers feel extra warm in comparison when Kate brushes against them with her own. “Maybe people are dying to learn your skincare routine, but they’re too shy to ask.”

“Oh, I’m sticking to the Dracula: Dead and Loving It technique, not everyone can afford that…”

“Like you used to look oh-so-mature before, Big Brother.”

“It’s not about Richie looking younger,” says Kate, warming her bottle between her knees. Richie is already chugging his beer with all the carelessness of someone who doesn’t have to worry about catching a cold or any other diseases of the mortals. Seth is chugging his with all the indifference of someone who doesn’t give a shit if he catches a cold or not. “It’s about you looking older.”

“She’s right, Seth,” Richie observes merrily and reaches out to ruffle his brother’s hair. Seth pushes his hand away without looking. “Hey, you’re already going grey a little bit.”

“And whose fucking fault is it that I’m already going grey, Richard?”

“I think that’s genetics.”

“I think no one’s hit you with a bottle opener for quite a while,” Seth waves that very opener eloquently, but he doesn’t try to stop Richie from touching his hair anymore, which the latter proceeds to do. Kate cannot help smiling when she looks at them, but a mild sort of sadness scratches at her heart at the same time. She misses Scott. She misses the times when she wasn’t scared to touch people first, remembering the way her touch – no, not hers, but still that of her hands, that of her body – used to suck out their strength, will, and soul. Never mind, she tells herself, and finally dares to take a sip of that icy beer, never mind. At least now she has her gloves.

At most now, she has her hope.
