PROPAGANDA
KAEDE AKAMATSU (DANGANRONPA V3)
1.) (Spoilers for the game but)
First female protagonist in the three main games of the series. Advertised as the protagonist in all of the game’s trailers and was hyped up, only to get brutally killed off at the end of the first chapter for shock value and to be replaced with a male protagonist. It’s revealed in the end that the reason she died was completely made up and she was killed for convenience.
In the one chapter she’s in there’s a scene of her taking her shirt off, as well as a joke about the male protagonist accidentally looking up her skirt while she’s climbing a ladder. Her legacy for the rest of the game is basically to act as the male protagonist’s reason for character development as he tries to become stronger.
2.) So disclaimer first that I think Kaede is actually really well-written as a character. She's interesting and feels fleshed out and despite dying early on, she haunts the narrative so strongly that she was one of my favorite characters for the whole game AND she's vital to the climax of the story. All that said…
Kaede was marketed as the protagonist of the game, making her the first female protagonist in the main DR series (there's a female protag in a spin-off but the two other games in the main series both had male protags). You start the game and you immediately notice she has a stronger personality than either of the male protags from the previous games, who, while I like them, tend to be the normal ones in an otherwise colorful cast. She felt like a break from the usual protag mold and we even got to have a male secondary character this time who relied on her for support. But. She isn't the protag. The guy I just mentioned is. You find out mid-trial 1 that Kaede is (sorta unintentionally) the killer and you switch control to the guy character and Kaede then dies at the end of the trial. As far as a plot goes, this was really really cool and well-executed, but it also means the game intentionally decided to pull a bait-and-switch where they advertised the "first female protag of the series!" only to kill her off early on and reveal the true protag was actually a guy who, once again is a character I like, but is much more similar to the previous two protags than Kaede was. There was literally no reason they had to put a female character as the false protag here, as the twist would've worked equally well or maybe even more if they revealed a typical male protag character was the killer and instead switched to a female protag for the rest of the game. Advertising Kaede as the first female main series protag while knowing she would be dead for the majority of the game and the actual protag would be a guy feels cheap and insulting, especially as a female player who was really excited to play as Kaede.
3.) She was the protagonist! But god forbid danganronpa has a female protagonist so (spoilers) she actually has to die sorry :( and then only exist in flashbacks the new male protagonist has where hes like damn wish we couldve dated
JUVIA LOCKSER (FAIRY TAIL) (CW: Stalking)
1.) Oh Juvia. I haven't seen fairy tail in a bit, but poor juvia. She's supposedly an extremely powerful wizard, who was always ignored and treated poorly because of her rain powers. I don't remember it completely but she basically causes rain everywhere she goes and has extremely useful and powerful water magic…. until she joins fairy tail. Or, more specifically, until she meets Gray. Sometime during their fight (can't remember why) juvia fell head over he's for him and wanted to join fairy tail right after the battle between them and the guild she was part of was over. And she basically spends every second on screen talking about and fantasizing over gray. Who's not even interested in her! Their """"romance"""" has so much to talk about but regarding juvia there's also the aspect that she is supposed to be really extremely strong! She was one of the best bladers of her old guild! But then when she gets invited to be S Class in fairy tail? Oh she looses in the first round because God forbid Juvia have accomplishments of her own after meeting gray!!! It's not like juvia doesn't have any good moments, I really like her when she's no where near and not thinking about gray. But she almost always is. She turns into like the worst person whenever he's around its so weird she doesn't act like herself she's awful to any other girl who so much as looks in his direction…. oh my God it's exhausting and the main reason I quit the show.
Oh and let's not forget we can compare her to gajeel here- he's also a very strong wizard, in the group of main characters, from the same guild as Juvia, has a romantic subplot, and gets invited to be S Class. Major difference: Gajeel isn't a woman. And for some strange unknowable reason (/s) hes… treated by the plot and written better than Juvia? Okay again it's been a hot minute since I've seen fairy tail but you remember all those problems I mentioned with Juvia above? Literally none of them apply to Gajeel. He doesn't spend all his time fawning over Levy, he's a strong mage and is ALLOWED TO BE no oh remember how gajeel was supposed to be strong well we forgor so were going to let him do One Cool Thing and then forget again, he actually makes it past round one of the S Class test and is hugely important in the Edolas arc. OH AND SPEAKING OF after that arc juvia finds out that edolas gray was obsessed with Edolas Juvia so she changed her hair style to match edo juvia in hopes gray will like her now because of her new hair style. It's not the worst thing ever but it gets on my nerves so fucking much.
Like I said I'm not exactly a fairy tail super-fan I literally forgot everything after the s class test thing and then some but I couldn't not add juvia propaganda.
Tumblr media
(something like this happens every other 5 minutes she's on screen)
2.) She started off as a really intimidating and cold looking antagonist in Phantom Lord arc, borderline creepy in some scenes even. She was one of the elemental four (She's a rain woman and does water magic) and an S-Class wizard in that guild (Highest rank), so you can tell off the bat that she's strong as hell- Up until we get a one on one fight scene involving her and Gray- Who she immediately swoons for for some reason. It isn't that bad of a fight I don't think, and the reason she got a crush on him was pretty sweet- His ice basically froze all of Juvia's rain water for a moment, allowing her to see and feel the clear sky and sun after years of being followed around by rain.
What ruins it is how after their fight, her crush on Gray just starts… Getting out of control. She started stalking him. Joined Fairy Tail, the guild he was in, and acted obsessive of him and started calling literally every other girl her 'Love Rival'. It isn't that bad during the first / earlier seasons, since at that point she was still recovering from being a bad guy and trying to prove to others that she wants to be allies with them (Like when she sacrificed herself for Cana during Battle of Fairy Tail arc, and when she cried after Lucy knocked her out after she got brainwashed and told her they were friends now) But eventually it really does just start becoming her one trait and gag. What doesn't help is that it got old pretty fast and it's creepy and Gray barely shows any interest in her either and frequently tells her he'd like it if she was less stalkery. Also she's gets more pushy. Literally!!! Even the women mentioned ABOVE who Juvia considered friends weren't safe from being called her Love Rival even when they state multiple times that they aren't interested in Gray (Lucy especially.) She'd go after every and all women who MAY be after her precious Gray without any STOPS. She used to have actual character and motivations!!! She used to get along with other girls, even if it was begrudgingly!! But now she's just Gray's accesory / just "Gray's About-To-Be Girlfriend" and it somehow got even worse in the sequel 100 Years Quest. She's a powerful wizard and it still shows but her only notable trait, motive, gag, connection, etc. Are related to her calling him "Gray-Sama" and harassing him. Let her fight without thinking of Gray for god's sake!!!
3.) Juvia, as a concept, is not so bad: it's a lonely, depressed woman with water powers she can't always control who gets a chance at being somewhere where people will provide the love and companionship she craved. NOW THE EXECUTION IS WHERE THE CREATOR FUCKED UP. Upon her introduction, she immediately develops a crush on Gray, one of the main characters and her original guild's enemy, which makes her not really want to fight him. Sounds kinda sexist but not particularly outstanding, right? Well, as soon as she stops being on the enemy side and joins the main guild, she is turned into a caricature by having her stalk her crush, obsessively worry about him even looking at other women, being hostile to said women and then, throughout the series, continuously doubling down on her romantic and sexual advances despite him constantly refusing and expressing both verbally and physically his discomfort. There are a handful of moments toward the beginning where she seems to have the bare minimum of depth and it looks like she can build a good connection with some female characters, but this is all abandoned and she becomes a wet piece of cardboard whose only personality trait is obsessively loving a guy and any dramatic or tense scenes revolve around what's happening to him. She becomes unbearable to watch and this is particularly frustrating when you consider that she's technically, according to her introduction, a rather strong mage and that her magic doesn't have any established limits. She turns her body into water!! She can change the weather!! She could technically do something like blood bending if Mashima weren't a coward!! She could do so much more but that is the extent of what the creator cares to show because he doesn't care about her beyond what he can get in terms of "comedy".

ROUND 1A, MATCH 3 OUT OF 8!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cause of Death & Propaganda Under the Cut:
Kaede Akamatsu
Cause of Death: Framed & Executed; Hanged
Propaganda:
At first she seems like the main protagonist (first girl protag of a main series game, yay!) Stuck in a death game, she was framed for murder and executed in order to give the REAL male protagonist Angst. Was killed cruelly and unjustly and replaced with a much less proactive and interesting character. Justice for Kaede.
Kaede Akamatsu is the first female protagonist of a mainline Danganronpa game! JK of course she's not! Her death in the first trial gives emo shy boy Shuichi Saihara the motivation he needs to become the *true* protagonist of the game! She has so much wasted potential as a protagonist... truly pain and misery on planet earth.
Kaede was the first female protagonist of the mainline Danganronpa games, and also the first protagonist with a notable talent! She was a very fun and interesting character who was taken away from us in the first trial, thus making the protagonist of the game another random detective boy. Her death is mostly used to fuel his story, and she quite literally had no reason to die. Her death was also extremely brutal, and it felt like the devs spitting in our face to make a character with such potential into a “dead waifu.”
Akane Hyakuya
Cause of Death: Murdered by a Vampire
Propaganda:
[No Propaganda Submitted]
Kuina Shimotsuki
Cause of Death: Accident; Fell down the stairs
Propaganda:
she's a sword fighter! she wanted to be the best sword fighter in the world and was until she died the best in her class. while practicing with zoro she was giving him tips on how to improve (even before they become friends). she has a really cool sword (which zoro takes after she dies to "carry on her legacy" or something). we dont know anything else about her :)))))))))
Listen Oda normally writes the women characters well but this... this was not it. Other than giving Zoro motivation she doesn't really have much of a role in the main story and idk she could've had a more "honorable" death or something

Why I don't like the self-proclaimed-SHSL-Hope trope that Danganronpa has going on[SPOILERS]:
Something that Danganronpa does and that genuinely annoys me is the trope where someone from the killing game takes the role of SHSL Hope as a way of self-love[Naegi Makoto for THH, Komaeda Nagito for GD and K1-B0 for KH], so I decided to make a commentary on my dislike of it.
The main reason why I generally don't like it is because of the route it takes when it comes to the motive behind:
The problem that these characters have in common is their lack of self-worth that ultimately leads them into taking leadership as a form of giving themselves any kind of value.
It all started with Makoto that, unlike his counterparts, is given the suggestion of becoming SHSL Hope by Kirigiri Kyoko as she believes the reason why he came to Hope's Peak is to put an end to the SHSL Despair. The decision of taking on the title has it's roots from his first title of SHSL Luck which he was given after winning the lottery. His negative view of himself further develops as he finds himself 'surpassed' by his classmates as well as 'guilty of their deaths' [the Danganronpa 3 anime verifies this statement in the despair arc]. The true reason why he takes the title of SHSL Hope is to prove to himself that he is able to 'make up' for his classmates deaths[by taking full responsability of his class and all that happened during the killing game], rather then to bring everyone hope(which is still a motive of his, but in this case he is FORCED to show everyone hope).
In Nagito's case, the motives behind his actions are easy to point out. His self-hatred first occurs with the title of SHSL Luck[as both he and Naegi question the logic behind it, making both feel like frauds] as well as when we are presented with the fact that his life is expected to end in less than a year[stated in his FTE's]. This makes Nagito think that he is worthless and that he should be used by the others as a stepping stool, making him 'take the title' of SHSL Hope as a way of giving himself a reason to believe he is worthy of something.
With K1-B0 the lack of self-worth comes from his title of SHSL Robot, as he feels dehumanized, feeling which, unlike his counterparts[which would supress/agree with it], he tries to adress by helping the masses learn about 'robophobia'. In chapter 6 K1-B0 is willing to take on the burdens of SHSL Hope and destroy himself and the academy just so that he can feel as if he did something of worth, unlike the other chapters.
It is heart-breaking to see these characters in such a light, but I shall move forward and tell you who I think embodies the title of SHSL Hope best out of the three protagonists left: Hinata Hajime, Akamatsu Kaede, Saihara Shuichi.
In my opinion, Saihara Shuichi is the one that is able to seize the title, for I find him and Kamukura Izuru closest to a Yin-Yang relationship, their opposing tropes being united by their complementary personality types.
The reason why I think that the other two aren't able to reach the title is because of Kaede's selfish reasoning[forcing Shuichi into a promise he can't keep in a attempt to free everyone] and Hajime's intent of becoming SHSL Hope as a coping mechanism against self-hatred[same case as Makoto, Nagito and K1-B0].
After Kaede's death, Saihara takes on the role of a bledding heart hero, opposing to Kamukura's emotionless anti-hero status, in order to help everyone get out of the killing game. As Saihara tries to create the perfect path, Kamukura destroys in order to find it, Saihara's seemingly selfish act proving itself as selfless and Kamukura's seemingly selfless act proving itself as selfish. It is all a battle of Hope and Despair, a battle between a man from which everything was taken and a man to which everything was give, the one thing that Saihara is able to achieve and that Kamukura isn't being happiness.
Despite the differences, the two of them find common grounds, both being introverted men whose lives are purely controlled by the wishes of certain people close to them[Kaede and Junko]. Both are expected to take burdens too hard to carry and lead everyone to a brighter future, point from which their paths part, trying to reach for opposite ends of the spectrum untill they converge at the middle into the final answer: hope and despair have to coexist in equal amounts so that humanity can truly thrive.
In conclusion, I dislike this trope because of the fact that it doesn't evolve the characters in any way, only leaving them in a miserable light even if that isn't needed, which is proven by the(possible, but sadly not cannon) dynamic between Shuichi and Izuru.

Hajime, Shuichi, and Kaede finding their S/O self harming
Warnings: Self harm, gender neutral
Mod Ibuki: Enjoy! Hope you're okay!
Hajime Hinata:
Hajime was beyond confused. He had zero idea what to do. He didn't know whether to run and get a first aid kit, hug you, or get someone more experienced.
He finally decided to give you a hug first. A tight, careful hug. He didn’t wanna hurt you anymore than you already were but he needed to know that you are there and alive and your heart is beating.
“Why.”
That was all he asked. Just why. When you told him, he lost it. He wasn’t angry but he raised his voice. He was just scared, so scared of losing you.
“That’s not true! Not remotely! Why would you think that!?”
When Hajime saw your reaction to his yelling he immediately toned it down and apologized, hugging you again and comforting you after his little outburst. This is what happens when he’s scared, and he knows he’s got to fix it. He feels bad because he lost it for a second when you least needed it.
After comforting you for a bit, he grabbed a first aid kit and began bandaging you up. Mikan taught everyone first aid basics, so he kinda knew what he was doing. Enough to patch you up and make sure your wounds are clean.
Afterwards, he got a blanket and wrapped you and him in it. On the bathroom floor. He wanted to talk. Almost like a therapy session. He wanted you to vent for as long as you needed to. Just get everything out, you know?
“I want you to know I love and care for you. I hate seeing you hurt and this broke me. I love you too much to stand by and watch you suffer. So please come to me from now on. I’m here for you.”
Shuichi Saihara:
Shuichi cried as soon as he saw you. He ran straight for you and held you, petting your hair and sobbing. He was always so sensitive to death and injury, seeing it on his lover made him instantly break down.
“B-Baby…why honey why.” “I-I’m hurting, Shu.” “I know baby, I’m s-so sorry.”
After a long hug he got a first aid kit and began wrapping your wounds, making sure they were clean and won’t get infected. Tears were still falling down his cheeks, one landing on the bandage. When he saw the tear stain, it made him start sobbing all over again. Luckily, he was almost done, so he finished quickly and hugged you close again.
Shuichi asked you to talk to him. Tell him everything you’ve been feeling. Why you did this, what led to it, etc. It was almost like an interview. He just cares so much, he needs to know everything that was going through your head so he can piece together how to help you.
Once you told him how you were really feeling, everything hit him hard. So that’s why you’ve been a bit off. Maybe if he said something this wouldn’t have happened. Maybe if he gave you a hug that day in the restaurant. Maybe if he-
No, he needs to stop overthinking. This is about you. You need him right now.
“Baby, I promise you. You aren’t a burden, or a negative person. You are the light of my life. You make me so happy. You make the world a brighter place for me. So please, hold on for me.”
Kaede Akamatsu:
Kaede froze. She needed to process what was going on in front of her. It didn’t hit her that you, her love, had hurt themselves purposely.
“My love…?”
Her voice was barely above a whisper. It was when you shakily lifted your arms for a hug that she snapped out of it and ran to hold you. She hummed and rocked you back and forth while you cried, calming you down.
Kaede didn’t wanna pull away, but she had to clean your wounds. She slowly backed up and reached for a first aid kit to begin patching you up. She didn’t know anything about first aid, so you and her watched a Youtube video on how to properly patch someone up while she followed along. When she finished, she wanted you to talk to her about what happened. What caused this pain?
“What happened, honey? Please tell me.”
While Kaede was rocking you, you were stumbling on your words and venting to her. But she understood. She caught what you were saying and the parts she didn’t, she didn’t ask for you to repeat. She knew this was hard enough as is, you didn’t need any more stress.
She was frowning into your shoulder when you finished. You really felt like that…? Kaede didn’t know what to say except positive things. About you. Your looks. Your shining personality. How wonderful you treated her.
“I promise you! You are amazing, baby! No really! You are! You’re my sunshineee, my only sunshineee, you make me happyyyy, when skies are greyyyy. Hehe, you’re a beautiful person lovey. I love you.

Okay, lemme explain.
S Rank - Best of the Best
Magical Miracle Girl Usami - I. Love. Her. Like... I feel like if I were a magical girl, I’d be Usami. I want to cosplay her. I just... I love her so much.
Nagito Komaeda - I mean... He’s clearly neuro-divergent, he’s chronically ill, he’s basically chaotic neutral, and I’ve loved him almost as long as I’ve loved the series. What can I say?
Angie Yonaga- PRAISE BE TO ATUA. She’s a vibe. I want to be her friend.
Kokichi Oma - A perfect example of “I initially hated him with every fiber of my being, but then he did a thing and now I like him”.
Korekiyo Shinguji - Similar to Kokichi, but the incestuous thoughts kind of... eh...
A Rank - I love them, but...
Ibuki Mioda - They did her dirty, I swear.
Mikan Tsumiki - I may prefer more masc-presenting women, but I would date her.
Kotoko Utsugi - I will protect this brat for the rest of my life
Monophanie - I dunno. I just think she’s neat. You know… besides the incestuous stuff…
Monomi - Monokuma did her dirty. And… again… incestuous stuff…
Aoi Asahina - I love her relationship with Sakura! But I also feel like she was just… token big boobs girl…
Miu Iruma - I love the spin of having a super-perverted girl. But also kind of the token big boob girl.
Hajime Hinata - Of all the protags, he just seemed the most fleshed out. Also. Tig o’ bitties on a guy
Junko Enoshima - Fun design? Check. Interesting Personality? Check. Would wear similar clothes? Check.
Kaito Momota - I feel like we’d be best friends.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru - He and Mondo are the best homo ship in the series fight me
Mondo Owada - He and Kiyotaka are the best homo ship in this series fight me
Rantaro Amami - He’s the midpoint between Nagito and Shun Kamiya from Tribe Nine and you can’t tell me he’s not
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu - Severely underrated. And he and Peko are the best canon relationship in the series fight me
Peko Pekoyama - At first I thought she was just meant to be a sexy Sakura, but I felt like she was super underestimated as a rival and a character. And she and Fuyuhiko are the best canon ship in the series fight me
Sonia Nevermind - First of all, her name. Secondly, I love that she was just… always 100% herself. Like… she was a princess into horror shit. I dig that.
Sayaka Maizono - I kinda wish she was in the series longer. I just really liked her.
Mahiru Koizumi - She’s the mom friend and I love it.
Kaede Akamatsu - I wanted her to be the protag, is that so much to ask?
Gundham Tanaka - He’s the type of person we all wish society would let us be; absolutely unhinged and in our own world.
Gonta Gokuhara - Best bean.
Chisa Yukizome - Ultimate Mom is best.
Monodam - I mean, he had everyone’s best interest at heart.
Ruruka Ando - Excuse me, she makes sweets and she’s cute.
Yuta Asahina - Good boi. Possible sister complex.
B Rank - I mean, they’re good, but…
Kirumi Tojo - I mostly like her because of her design and her execution.
Leon Kuwata - Not gonna lie, he was my first Danganronpa crush. Had I not read his Free Time events, I might have ranked him higher.
Maki Harukawa - At first I was thoroughly pissed off that she was the Ultimate Childcare Provider, but then her true identity came through and I liked her a lot more.
Chiaki Nanami - She’d be higher but I feel like the developers got tired part way through per backstory and just threw something together
Himiko Yumeno - She did the whole “too much effort” schtick for too long.
K1-B0 - Underrated.
Sakura Ogami - Great character overall, but I feel like her design was just… 100% shock value.
Shuichi Saihara - Like… I’d be fine if the game started with him being the protagonist, but I’m still kinda peeved that they just threw him in last minute.
Tenko Chabashira - I’m sorry, misandry is not a personality trait or a quirk and the joke got old quick.
Tsumugi Shirogane - I hate her and everything having to do with the ending of this series.
Toko Fukawa - Why are people cool with her but not Miss Piggy? At least Kermit is into what Miss Piggy does.
Genocider Jack/Jill - Yandere.
Jataro Kemuri - He’d be higher if it weren’t for his voice.
Hiroko Hagakure -
Akane Owari - Token Big Boob Girl mixed with zero impulse control. But her and Nekomaru are cute together so…
Celestia Ludenberg -
Chihiro Fujisaki - Let our friend be happy, okay?
Nekomaru Nidai - He made me tired.
Izuru Kamukura - He’s fine. He’s mostly here because he’s in Hajime’s body.
Masaru Daimon - I’ve worked with children like him. They’re fun!
Monosuke - I like the mobster penny pincher persona that he’s got going on.
Monotaro - I liked him for 90% of the game. But then the incest stuff happened and… yeah…
Shirokuma - I knew he was putting on a ruse from the beginning, but I enjoyed him
Taichi Fujisaki- WHAT A GOOD PARENT.
Kiyondo - I think I prefer them in separate bodies, but it’s a sweet sentiment and an… interesting way to cope.
C Rank - They’re Fine
In C Rank, if I don’t mention them by name, it’s just “they’re fine”.
Kyoka Kirigiri - I wish we knew more. Like… she seems very two dimensional
Mukuro Ikusaba - I’m glad we had some time with her in the anime… but it wasn’t enough. More please!
Haiji Towa - The only reason he isn’t lower is that he got his comeuppance
Koichi Kazakura - That’s blond Johnny Depp and you can’t say he’s not.
Monokuma - I actually threw him in C because I didn’t know where else to throw him. I actually don’t have a lot of feelings about him as a character.
D Rank - Either I hate them or I don’t know them
I’m only elaborating on some.
Teruteru Hanamura - Perverted characters that are just there to be perverted are annoying.
Monokid - I absolutely hate that he represents the percentage of people that shit in the shower. Like… I’m so glad he died first. I hate him so much.

Super Danganronpa Another 2, character tier ranking:
S Tier (I adore them) - Sora, Yoruko Kabuya, Mikado Sannoji, Kanade Otonokoji and Hibiki Otonokoji.
Sora is much more than just a gender-swapped Hajime Hinata or a compensation for the shafting Kaede Akamatsu got, she might just be the coolest, most driven, and most enjoyable main protagonist in any Danganronpa game, fan-made or official. Yoruko’s character development throughout the game was excellent, and her romantic relationship with Sora just beyond precious. Mikado, as the self-admitted mastermind in plain sight, is just all kinds of entertaining and way more efficient a villain and fully realized a character than some of the official canon antagonists. And the Otonokoji Twins strike an unthinkable balance of being very fun and endearing yet also some of THE most hauntingly disturbing and soul-crushingly tragic figures in Danganronpa history (if you played or seen it, you get it.)
A Tier (I love them) - Syobai Hashimoto, Iroha Nijiue, Nikei Yomiuri, and Yuki Maeda.
Syobai’s kind of like this game’s Byakuya Togami except that he takes that a step further by being an even more shamelessly awful human being who never becomes a true good guy of any sort even after all he’s done to help. Iroha can get a little too pitiful at points but is a very sympathetic and lovable character all the same. Nikei was a very effective antagonist and one of the game’s darkest and most intriguing characters the whole way through. And Yuki is sort of like Makoto Naegi but with the huge difference that he actually feels realistic, which serves to make him so much more interesting.
B Tier (I like them) - Monocrow, Utsuro, Shinji Kasai, Hajime Makunouchi, Setsuka Chiebukuro, and Emma Magorobi.
I know the whole point of Monocrow is that he’s low-key, bland and nonthreatening compared to Monokuma, but I just really like this poor birb - the constant disrespect and mistreatment he gets endears him to me. Utsuro was already the best part of Danganronpa Another, but in this game he got even better by having a Greater Scope Villain presence that completely spares us anymore Junko Enoshima bullshit! Shinji is a way better Big Bro than Kaito in V3, and Setsuka’s a great Big Sis character as well. And the first two Voids, while not as developed as the other two and Mikado, are still fine characters too.
C Tier (I think they’re OK) - Yuri Kagarin, Kokoro Mitsume, and Teruya Otori.
Yuri could be amusing but he also wore out his welcome pretty fast, and I think suddenly giving him such huge posthumous significance towards the end was unearned. Kokoro was alright for the most part, but she’s also the character who suffered the most from Linuj’s insistence on tying characters to the cast of his previous game. Teruya is also OK, but largely a different character from the Teruya of DRA, is very plot devicey due to his connection to the Kisaragi Foundation, and his role in Chapter 4 lost him a ton of respect points.
D Tier (I don’t care for them) - Rei Mekaru and Tsurugi Kinjou.
The Kisaragi Foundation was a lame Future Foundation ripoff concept to start with, and in this game it’s easily the link to the previous game that is handled the worst. The moment they enter the picture in Case 6, things just come to a grinding halt, and I’m sorry, but Rei and Tsurugi are both characters I do not give a fuck about.

1 Thing I Love & 1 Thing I Hate About EVERY Danganronpa Character Part 1

Tumblr media
Sayaka Maizono
♡ Her passion for her career and friends.
✘ The way she tries to screw over Makoto when the game had just begun. Like wait and see what happens before screwing over such a great guy? Leon didn’t deserve it either.
Leon Kuwata
♡ His voice actor (English), and how real and human his execution was in that we all would be so scared and irrational. It was just so iconic and sad as it’s our first introduction to the death in this series and we all think: “shit, this is real... they are really killing these kids.” I didn’t think it would be that brutal, just seeing his body limp at the end with the haunting music.
✘ His design is disgusting. I hate how he looks.
Chihiro Fujisaki
♡ So innocent, so kind, so intelligent
✘ Shouldn’t have been killed for such a stupid reason, also they did Mondo dirty with that motive for killing as well. Just a mess. As for the actual character, Chihiro cries right off the bat when you do your introductions and that was kind of annoying to me personally.
Mondo Oowada
♡ He has a lot of respect, understanding and emotions for someone I thought would be a hard-ass douche biker.
✘ The worst motive to kill ever in a game where you know you’re getting executed if you’re found out. Like you’d be extra careful and that’s his reason to kill? Lazy writing.
Celestia Ludenberg
♡ Bad bitch energy and her goth lolita design.
✘ Manipulation and double murder. Bad bitch energy only goes so far. Confidence is different then selfishness. Also, of all the chapter 3 triple murders... the worst motive to kill.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru
♡ Emotions: secure in his masculinity, able to cry, show emotions, and apologize when he’s wrong. He’s funny and likable.
✘ The Ishimondo white hair thing was stupid. Taka was fine on his own.
Hifumi Yamada
♡ Writing takes talent, fan fiction as much as any other style or genre. Also the talent of his voice actor (who also voices Kiibo/K1-B0).
✘ Literally everything else about him.
Sakura Oogami
♡ I love everything about her. I love her wisdom, loyalty, design, voice etc. Just step on me, mother.
✘ Why the hell would she ever agree to be a spy even if it meant the end of her dojo? I just don’t think she would do that rationally because she isn’t selfish. The others would suffer for her spying. She remedies this with redemption in her letter in chapter 4 but still she should’ve said no off the bat. Everyone had something to lose. The dojo wasn’t worth spying for monokuma. Also I just don’t think she would commit suicide. She can’t help the remaining students survive and redeem herself truly if she’s dead.
Kyoko Kirigiri
♡ Bad bitch energy, calm and collected when I could never be.
✘ Especially in future arc of the anime, damn can you show some emotion please? Through your words and expressions not just your actions. Sure she was willing to “die” for Makoto but like I just want more emotion from her sometimes, even in THH.
Makoto Naegi
♡ So pure. I Love Bryce Papenbrook. Makoto reminds me of Sora and I love his design.
✘ In THH I didn’t mind his innocence but in the Danganronpa 3 future arc anime, when people started straight up abusing him and accusing him, he needed to grow a little backbone.
Byakuya Togami
♡ Love my dad, king shit, also love how over the progression of the games and animes he becomes a little more kind to his friends.
✘ Why the fuck did he mess with Chihiro’s body? Just so cruel and disrespectful.
Yasuhiro Hagakure
♡ Funny magic man. Sexy voice.
✘ Please. Please Hiro use your brain just once. Why do we have to prove Kyoko isn’t a ghost?!
Toko Fukawa
♡ Character development in UDG and I love Genocider.
✘ Putting down herself and others constantly gets old in THH.
Aoi Asahina
♡ Love her voice actress and her personality
✘ We really just gonna get everyone killed in chapter 4 huh? Surely you know they don’t all deserve that.
Junko Enoshima
♡ A very memorable villain with great hair and design.
✘ I just can’t stand her. I hate her so much.
Mukuro Ikusaba
♡ Her mercenary background is super cool as a concept.
✘ Too bad it wasn’t explored nearly enough.
Hajime Hinata
♡ Seeing the protagonist be a little less naive, innocent and positive than Makoto was a refreshing change, although I loved Makoto. I liked Hajime’s cynicism and expressions that sometimes just screamed “this shit again, huh?”
✘ I enjoy the way Izuru looks but I hate him as a character. He is sexy to look at but Hajime is just a better character overall
Teruteru Hanamura
♡ His love for his family and mother especially is so cute and heart breaking if you know the full story.
✘ He needs to know when to dial it back and quit with the perversions. And no it’s not just how he looks, Miu needs to chill at times, too.
Twogami
♡ I feel like he genuinely cares about his friends, just hides it well
✘ His death felt like a cop out and poorly written. It just didn’t sit right with me. Also his design is disgusting to me, his outfit and such.
Mahiru Koizumi
♡ Loyal to her close friends.
✘ I just have no interest in her as a character and I find her boring.
Peko Pekoyama
♡ Loyalty. Loyalty is something I value very highly in every form of relationship. Peko is also very hot.
✘ Come on girl... I know how you were raised but you should’ve known Fuyuhiko didn’t think of you as just a tool and you two should’ve expressed your true feelings long ago. Like even in secret. How do you live like this? Also I feel like killing Mahiru could’ve been avoided with a calm talk.
Ibuki Mioda
♡ Cute design, positive vibes.
✘ Cringe sometimes in the way she talks.
Hiyoko Saionji
♡ Beautiful character design and some very good insults and snarky remarks at times.
✘ Just irredeemably mean and annoying. Even when you do her free time events she is just so annoying.
Mikan Tsumiki
♡ I like her design as well as her hair, expressions, sprites and clothing.
✘ I hate her. I just hate her whether she’s in her true psycho form or timid stuttering form. She’s just annoying in my opinion.
Nekomaru Nidai
♡ So supportive, can hold my drink at a party. Respects everyone and wants the best for them.
✘ Bro Mechamaru was a stupid plot point. I just couldn’t stand looking at him and couldn’t take it seriously. Still sad when he died though.
Chiaki Nanami
♡ From chapter 5 of sdr2 on she is impossible not to love if you didn’t already. Just the selflessness, the sadness of the reveal and execution, how she returns to help Hajime at the end???? I love her. I love her hair design, color palette, her personality, everything.
✘ I’m bitter and miserable about her being the only class member to actually die (the despair arc anime) also her falling asleep at random times is kind of odd and she doesn’t seem to be like that later on in the game??? Like it seemed like a cheap joke but not actually who she is? Hard for me to explain.
Gundham Tanaka
♡ King shit, couldn’t praise him enough. He’s sexy, loves animals, and is funny as hell sometimes. His voice actor is a saint and a cool dude and I named my guinea pigs after the Dark Devas (yes I know they are hamsters in the games.)
✘ Come on dude. I get that being from Hell and magic and having evil powers is your shtick, but we all know that you and Nekomaru sacrificed yourselves so the others wouldn’t starve. We know you care about your classmates. There comes a time when it’s time to let personas and facades fade and be true to your heart. I just feel like him denying he cared at the end hurt. We all know he cared. I didn’t like how he was haughty until the end. He deserved better. I love him.
Nagito Komaeda
♡ I love him so much. So cunning and intelligent, always a step ahead. And he’s big sexy.
✘ Him killing himself in chapter 5 hurt me so bad I was like in denial for days. Also hate how Bryce Papenbrook gives him a raspy stoner psycho voice in the game then a light airy higher-pitched voice in the despair arc anime. It just bothers me. I love his voice still but the inconsistency just hurts my OCD
Sonia Nevermind
♡ I love that she’s so interested in her passions and love her feelings for Gundham
✘ Her outfit and bow are atrocious. Also why didn’t she start liking and talking to Gundham sooner on? Their romance bloomed late and it would’ve made for a better chapter 4 ending if they were a bit closer.
Kazuichi Souda
♡ Cool design and outfit, love his voice (also voices Kaito in V3) and his backstory is relatable at times. He’s also very human in that he’s scared a lot of the time or insecure or blames others in panicked situations. It’s not always a good thing but it’s human and realistic.
✘ Gosh he can be so annoying. Sometimes flirting or whining too much is well... too much.
Akane Owari
♡ Strong-willed and definitely someone I would be friends with
✘ What the hell is her outfit? Gymnasts and athletes don’t wear that shit. Stop objectifying her when it doesn’t even make the product or plot better. Like there’s absolutely no point to making her dress that way. I was a gymnast for 15 years. Even those who do parkour (which Akane seems to do more often than actual gymnastics in the anime and game) don’t wear what she wears. Also she’s underrated.
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu
♡ I love him. He’s the DR character I’m most like out of all the games and anime. Tenko is a close second. I think he’s adorable, love his character arc, development, redemption, and love his voice.
✘ In the anime/despair arc, Fuyuhiko is not done justice. He doesn’t get enough lines, has a different voice actor, just doesn’t give off the same vibes.
Izuru Kamakura
♡ Sexy man long hair good.
✘ Boring character. I wish he were just Hajime.
Kaede Akamatsu
♡ Loyalty and leadership are such attractive qualities in her. Also she faced her death with such class and dignity and I respect her because I could never.
✘ Some of the voice lines Erika does for her are just weird and cringe. Just random moans or grunts... I don’t know it’s like when Ann Takamaki from Persona 5 (also voiced by Erika) makes suggestive noises as well. Just grinds my gears. Also hate her outfit down to the hair pins.
Shuichi Saihara
♡ I love his nasally voice. I love his design and he’s so adorable. I love how emotional and compassionate he can be. He ties with Makoto for favorite protag of mine.
✘ That sprite where he sniffs his hand. And his ugly ass hat.
Rantarou Amami
♡ Sexy man, sexy voice, sexy piercings
✘ Ugly outfit, and wasted potential
Ryoma Hoshi
♡ I respect him and feel bad for his outlook on life and for how poorly he views himself. I love his little hat as well and he’s the first “different styled” character (Hifumi, Bandai, Teruteru) that I liked the design of.
✘ I hate when he says “got a long ways to go,” it’s overused and annoying, and wish he gave himself more credit. Also hate that when you first meet him he warns you that he’s killed people and is dangerous to be around. Come on buddy, you know you wouldn’t hurt your friends. Stop pushing them away.
Kirumi Tojo
♡ Competence, well rounded, skillful
✘ Boring as hell. I wouldn’t waste one free time event on her.
Angie Yonaga
♡ Dark skin, super cute, love her talent as an artist myself.
✘ Gives religious people a bad name and is super manipulative which I hate.
Tenko Chabashira
♡ I relate to her and feel bad when she’s misunderstood. She’s a good person deep down. Also love her sprites.
✘ There’s more cunning, funny and clever ways to write her digs at men.
Korekiyo Shunguuji
♡ I’m in love with this man. Long hair, voice, mystery, mask, intelligence, passion, talent.
✘ He definitely was a victim of abuse and a lot of people refuse to see that and just hate him. Team Danganronpa should’ve given him a redemption arc where he realized his sister abused him and changed.
Gonta Gokuhara
♡ I love his design except for his suit. Also he’s so cute and naive. I cried for his trail.
✘ No need talk like caveman. Better way to do this.
Kokichi Ouma
♡ Like Nagito, I value his intelligence and crazy cunning.
✘ Shouldn't have died. Also shouldn’t have manipulated Gonta. That was just cruel.
Miu Iruma
♡ She has her hilarious moments and her death surprised me and was sad.
✘ Sometimes she lacks basic empathy, i.e. calling Tenko “Tencrotch” when she just fucking died.
Maki Harukawa
♡ Amazing character development. Didn’t see her surviving until the end at the start. Also her love and passion for Kaito.
✘ “Do you wanna die?” gets old.
Kaito Momota
♡ Just the overall best bro you could ever have.
✘ Has some toxic masculinity issues and anger issues.
K1-B0
♡ Pretty much everything about him. His design, his attitude and personality, especially how amazing and cool he is chapter 5 onward, his execution made me so sad. He’s so innocent and funny without trying.
✘ When you do his free time events he’s very arrogant and just talks about himself a lot... it seems odd and not similar to the Kiibo we see throughout the game.
Himiko Yumeno
♡ Super cute design, love her voice and “Nyeh...” and her sprites. Her character development is great as well.
✘ Why did they take so long to make her important and likable?
Tsumugi Shirogane
♡ An excellent and well hidden reveal
✘ I hate her. So annoying, from the voice to the references and her personality.

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR DANGANRONPA V3 (and probably the other games, too, just to be safe)
So, just as a heads up, I made this list a few months ago, I think in the middle of chapter 4. I was going to update it, but I realized that any feelings I had were just made stronger and the list was still relatively accurate. Here are my thoughts:
I see no god up here other than me
Kirumi Tojo - As you may know about me, I can typically tell who my favorite characters are going to be before I indulge myself in a series. This has especially rung true throughout Danganronpa, I was able to correctly guess Taka and Gundham as my respective favorites before actually seeing them in action. Let me tell you that Kirumi surprised me. I originally guessed K1-B0 as my favorite and while he’s still up there, he is nowhere near Kirumi. I realized she was my favorite the moment chapter 2 ended. Not only were her execution and plan wonderful and brilliantly done, her last-ditch plea to convince everyone to let her live sold her for me. Not only did this plea make sense, it almost worked and I kinda wish it would’ve. Her motive was almost completely selfless and she worked damn hard to escape. Her execution was the only time I cried during this game because I wanted so badly for her to escape, but I knew that all of her efforts were futile. I know her biggest criticism is that her plan from hiding Ryoma’s body was completely unnecessary, but I like to believe she was just nervous and overthought the whole thing. I mean, this had to go perfectly in order for her to save her country, of course she’s going to add a few too many steps.
Miu Iruma - Okay, I know this is going to sound fake, but I actually really love the dichotomy of her character. The way that she acts so self-righteous but is actually quite self-conscious really stood out to me. Of course she’s funny and hot, too, but I feel it’s important to really appreciate the way her character was written. It amazes me that she was written to be the least likable character in the entire series and still ended up being one of my favorites.
You’re the best
K1-B0 - Yes, I type out his name every time. As I already mentioned, he was my original guess for favorite character, but it obviously didn’t work out that way. He stayed in his position of first for a while, but I always knew it wasn’t meant to last, I just didn’t know which character would take his place. Even besides my doubts, I still love K1-B0, I just wish more could’ve been done with him in the earlier chapters. There are several opportunities for him to be a really funny character and have good interactions with Kokichi and Miu, but he just comes off as annoying. I feel like he only really started to be utilized after Miu died with Monotaro and I really enjoyed their dynamic, I just wish we could’ve had some of this side of K1-B0 before this point.
Kokichi Oma - This spot probably isn’t as subjective as I’d like it to be. Every time Kokichi was on screen, I would get visibly annoyed, but I knew I was in for a treat figuring out his deeper intents behind what he’s saying. The only reason I really like Kokichi at all is because he’s fun to analyze. It gets boring to analyze Nagito because his motivation is pretty much just a mix of “hope” and “he’s crazy.” Kokichi’s character trait of lying makes it so fun to individually analyze each of his lines to figure out whether he’s telling the truth and why or why not. Other than that, I guess he has some funny dialogue with Miu sometimes.
Gonta Gokuhara - I really don’t know. I know this is way too early to be unsure about characters, but I just know I couldn’t put him any lower, but I also couldn’t put him any higher. He’s just such a sweetheart, but that’s about where the substance ends. I adored every time he was on my screen, but everything that would’ve been fun to analyze about him just leads back to Kokichi. I still really enjoy his presence, though. I’d like a big Gonta hug.
Kaede Akamatsu - I’ll just say it, I think she would’ve made for a better protagonist. I’ll talk about this later, but Shuichi’s character development doesn’t really feel like it goes anywhere and the twist doesn’t feel worth it because of that. I think the twist should still have been incorporated, but with the roles reversed. Either way, we got what we got, and what we got was tears from Clair de Lune. But seriously, she really is a great pianist. I’ve been trying to learn the piece for ages and it’s still too complicated for me. I mean, it’s in 9/8 for God’s sake. Good for her, regardless.
Tenko Chabashira - Tenko’s a weird case. I didn’t actually care for her that much until quite literally a few lines before she died. Fun fact: I spoiled this entire series for myself before I ended up playing it and I’m still mad at myself. This meant that I was just waiting for all of the deaths to happen, especially Tenko’s. I was fully aware that every line could be her last during the seance, but I wasn’t aware that she would pull on my heart strings before she went. When she tells Himiko that she’ll do the seance in her place so she can talk to Angie, I literally almost started crying. Before this, Tenko was just kind of annoying, but not too bad, but this moment really solidified her spot for me. She really just wanted to help Himiko and I wish she had chosen a better target for her affections.
Hey, I think you’re pretty cool, I like you a lot
Shuichi Saihara - Time to elaborate on what I said for Kaede. I actually really enjoyed Shuichi’s character development throughout the first three chapters. Before coming to Hope’s Peak, he was afraid to hurt people with his detective skills. Kaede notices this and helps him through it, passing the reins to Kaito once she passes. Shuichi convicts Kaede and later Kirumi, much to everyone’s detriment, but they’re all okay with it (Nobody was really super sad about Korekiyo to begin with, lol). Then, starting in chapter 4, everyone just kinda flips on him. Shuichi + the rest of the gang - Kokichi all believe that Gonta is innocent and Shuichi tries to prove this. Instead of supporting him, everyone (especially Kaito) tries to... stop him??? from proving it??? They’re all just in agreement that it wasn’t Gonta, but don’t want to proceed with the investigation to figure out who it was instead. It’s really frustrating and made my overall experience much less enjoyable. This is bumped up a few notches in chapter 5 with Maki. I understand that she was part of the whole case, but that doesn’t make it any less annoying that she won’t let me prove Kaito was the victim. It just feels like the character development was all for nothing and every student feels like a human obstacle (except K1-B0, of course). Still relatable and emo, though.
Rantaro Amami - I would make the joke everyone expects, but I’m on my laptop and I don’t know how to get to the emoji keyboard.
Ryoma Hoshi - I genuinely don’t have anything to say about Ryoma. He’s my halfway point because I don’t have anything particularly for him and I don’t have anything particularly against him, either. Go off, funky little cat man.
Kaito Momota - He got on my nerves in chapter 4, but he was a genuinely sweet character that I really enjoyed talking to. Any time he would talk about the stars, I would swoon because he’s just such a natural romantic. Not really my type, though. Very average.
Monophanie - Legally you can’t ask me why the monokubs are where they are. She’s voiced by Natalie Hoover (Sonia) and I guess that’s my only reasoning.
Monotaro - I really just liked his interactions with K1-B0 in chapter 4. Other than that, I greatly disliked his and Monophanie’s presence in Gonta’s execution. 0/10 worst use for monokubs.
Monodam - A nice, non-distracting addition to Korekiyo’s execution. But he had so much potential and just threw it all away. Apparently I’m a basketball dad from a high school movie now.
I remember you
Angie Yonaga - Many times, I’ve found myself asking who I ship from the series and this love triangle comes to mind. Of Angie, Himiko, and Tenko... I only really like Tenko. I don’t hate Angie’s cult stuff as much as everyone else seems to, but she didn’t have nearly enough of a presence for me to latch onto outside of the cult stuff, which was funny, I will admit.
Maki Harukawa - I was so excited the whole game for her to get cool. I knew she was going to get cool, I just didn’t know when or how. But then, it was chapter 5 already and she hadn’t gotten cool in my eyes yet. I was really meh on her by that chapter anyway, but her being annoying really knocked her down a few pegs. She got a couple extra points for surprising me during the case, but not enough to bump her up any spots.
Himiko Yumeno - I was rooting for her to be crushed under the rock at the end. She was fine before chapter 3, but then they tried to develop her with the Akane treatment and it didn’t work for me at all. She just got on my nerves during the third trial and continued to contribute nothing throughout the rest of the game. During chapter 5 and 6, it’s like the writers just completely forgot that she was there. This would’ve been fine if they weren’t the last couple of chapters and she was one of about 6 people left alive. She had a role to play and didn’t play it in the slightest. The most she was utilized after chapter 3 was as Miu’s replacement post-chapter 5. Someone needed to fill the dirty jokes quota and I guess Himiko was chosen. #GiveTenkoABetterLoveInterest2021
Monosuke - The only thing I remember him doing throughout the entire game was distract me from Kirumi’s exectuion. Not a fan.
You are the worst. Literal scum. Leave this planet and never return
Korekiyo Shinguji - Okay, listen. He’s not that bad. His design is actually one of the best, in my opinion and I love his dedication to his craft. However, he just creeps me out whenever he’s on screen and I’d prefer not to be around him. It’s not even the sister thing, I honestly think that’s funny and a nice change of pace, but his overall demeanor is creepy. Not to mention he’s played by Todd Haberkorn and he’s been in one too many roles recently. Hopefully I’ll get over it, but as for now, that loses him points.
Tsumugi Shirogane - I know, not exactly an unpopular opinion. She’s just annoying and downright pisses me off a lot of the time with her “plain” shtick. I already knew she was going to be the mastermind, so most of the game was just me waiting for her to reveal it. I swear, I almost couldn’t take it every time she said something like, “What if there isn’t a mastermind?” “What?? There’s a mastermind????” Just stfu Tsumugi. You all are lucky I don’t have the energy to talk about 3-6 right now.
Monokid - Hate the tongue sprite, that’s literally the only reason he’s down here. He’s also kind of annoying, but made the best addition to an execution out of all of the monokubs. His death was one of the few things that surprised me in this game and it was a welcome twist. I was sick of him by this point, but was still incredibly shocked when he was pushed into the execution. Then, his severed head rolls out to all of the students looking on in shock at Kaede’s death. Masterful. Still hate the tongue sprite.
There we go. Definitely my least favorite cast out of the whole series, but it’s still fun to love on and hate on a lot of the characters, as per usual. There are just a few too many in the middle tier (metaphorically speaking) that are either uninteresting or just don’t get their time to shine. Maybe they’ll eventually grow on me more, but I doubt it.

Note
May I have a kin matchup please, Iam an autistic and infp girl, very introverted. I tend to be very sensitive to emotions both negative and positive. I stay away from confrontation, and stress. I tend to overthink and worry a lot that I said something to upset the other person, and will either apologize even tho it's unneeded, or leave the conversation till I calmed down, I deal with stress and anxiety. I don't like talking to strangers outside of the internet, but Iam the most loyal and protective friend you can ever wish for, I'll very in a stubborn way, motivate you to fight and be strong bc I believe in you, even tho I don't believe in myself. I love anime *really big into 90's anime for the art aesthetics*, horror films, sanrio, *my favorite characters are my melody, and Kuromi* History on true crime, rabbits, seals, wombats, and in general every cute animal, which I have a soft-spot for. I love sweets, salty food, not a big fan of bitter and spicey food, I have a caffeine addiction. I can be both stubborn, and blunt, yet also gullible and naive, tending to take everything at face value. I used to be more of a door-matt, but trying not to be, because of my tendacy to be very loyal, if I fall for someone romantically, I tend to be faithful to them no matter the gender, it's normally the person who leaves me bc of this. Sources: Danganronpa, Sailor Moon, Princess Tutu, my hero, sanrio, Underune, digimon, and pokemon please.
Hiya! Yep, not a problem!! Sorry this took me a minute to get to!!
From Danganronpa, I assign you Kaede Akamatsu from V3! She’s the protagonist and the Ultimate Pianist. Kaede is optimistic and kind; she’s a hard worker who makes sure to put others before herself without discrimination. She plays the type of a leader who ensures the safety and roles of others, but her main motivation is to get other people to smile and be comfortable around her!
From Sailor Moon, I assign you Sailor Mercury, also known as Ami Mizuno! Ami is intelligent and caring, but she is also insecure about herself at times. Because of her shy demeanor, she has trouble making friends, but once she’s comfortable around someone, she is described as kind, gentle, and very loyal! As most magical girls are, she cares greatly for her friends and humanity and wants to do her part to protect them!
From Princess Tutu, I assign you Ahiru, also known as Duck in the English dub! Duck is the protagonist of the story, she’s friendly, funny, and very kind-hearted. She’s also very scatter-brained and clumsy at times, but this only adds to her charm! She’s also a magical girl, so she cares greatly for those around her and wants to do her best to protect her friends, no matter the cost!
From Boku No Hero Academia, I assign you Ochako Uraraka! Uraraka is very laid back and calm; she’s considered one of the kindest members of her class! She’s considerate to others and their wants and desires, and tries to always see the best in other people. She’s incredibly empathetic and has a strong desire to uphold her duties as a hero, to support and help anyone who needs her. She can also be a bit goofy at times-- a bit airheaded-- but her outbursts of laughter always make others smile!
From Sanrio, I assign you My Melody! She’s kind, optimistic, calm, and a little blunt at times, but she’s very supportive of those around her!
From Undertale, I assign you Toriel! She’s extremely kind and supportive, as well as motherly, always wanting to put others wellbeing before her own. She has the ability to be blunt, but typically only when she’s wanting to protect someone for their own good.
From Deltarune, I assign you Ralsei! Ralsei is a kind-hearted being who is optimistic towards his friends and colleagues. He’s loyal to those that help him in his quests and does his best to keep everyone safe and on track!
From Digimon, I assign you Hikari Yagami, also known as Kari Kamiya! She’s Tai’s younger sister who shares his passion for digimon. She’s compassionate, caring, and a bit fiesty! She’s often worried about her older brother and wants to do her best to keep him safe-- as a bonus, she also loves sweet foods!
From Pokemon, I assign you Lillie from Sun and Moon. She’s incredibly sweet and supportive of her friends, but has gone through her share of hardships. She’s ambitious to overcome her fears and be the best person she can be! Lillie is incredibly intelligent and is very observant to little details.

chapter 1/part 2|not so hopeful beginnings
“nyaknyaknyak!!where’d you think you’re going,young lady?!”
Kaede spun around,to see no one behind her.well, that was until she looked down
“Monokuma?how’d you…”
“take a wild guess!! I’m your despairfull headmaster! of course I’m gonna know where my students are going!”
of course you will…
“well,I was just guessing that you were gonna go around to the folks of your old killing game and say that you WEREN’T the one who killed Rantaro?!”
Kaede jolted on the spot.how did he even know that she was going to do that?there really was no escape from Monokuma…he basically knew what a student would be thinking
“welp, don’t wanna ruin the fun now!try not be killed first,Miss Protagonist!!”Monokuma giggles, before running off somewhere. Kaede stood there, confused, as more memories from the killing game began to flood her head.from Rantaro’s body discovery,to making Shuichi promise to continue her wish and to her execution…did she really have the hope to try and lead everyone else out of this killing game, when she failed last time?
as she continued to walk on,Kaede still couldn’t get rid of these awful memories.on how she had failed…and from what Kokichi had told her before Monokuma appeared made her even more anxious.these clouded thoughts still covered her mind, making her unknowingly walk into a girl with silver hair and red eyes covered by glasses, with a sword holder wrapped around her back
“ah!i’m sorry! I didn’t mean to bump into you!!” Kaede apologizes immediately, waving her hands in defence. The girl gave her a small glare, before give a small nod.
“I will accept your apology, even though I felt that I was the one that had ran into you”
so cold…
Kaede gave a small, forgiving smile as she began to lower her hands
“so…what’s your name? I’m Kaede Akamatsu!”
“…Peko Pekoyama.it’s nice to meet you.”
Kaede could see that this was going to turn into some form of small talk.she felt that she could trust Peko as an ally, but she needed to know more about her to do that
“so,what’s your ultimate talent?i’m the Ultimate Pianist”
“well,I am the Ultimate Swordswoman-“
“that sounds cool!and more interesting than my talent…all I can do is play a piano”
“mhm.i learned my skills from a yakuza, where I was raised to be a tool for the young heir Fuyuhiko…but the tool part was what I believed”
“you were apart of a yakuza?that’s cool!”
The two girls continued their conversation, eventually becoming close friends.
                                               ----------------------------
during that sort time,Kaede had managed to get to know all the other students she didn’t recognise. At that moment, she stood in the enclosed outside area.her thoughts hadn’t really left her,but whilst talking with the other students helped relieve a but if her stress.she had also managed to try and explain that she wasn’t really the one who commit the first murder, but most didn’t understand it.probably for the better, she thought afterwards
“hey Kaede!can I ask you something?!” came a voice behind her.turning around,Kaede found out is was Kaito, who had just entered the enclosed outside area.Kaede gave a nod, fully turning around to face her friend
“you know that Byakuya guy, right?well, his hosting this party thing to try and relieve some of the stress or whatever.but a lot of people are disagreeing to it,saying that that how he became a victim in his old killing game…but anyways, wanna come?”
Kaede took a small while to think about it,before giving another nod.
“it’s a party, right?i don’t think that anything could go wrong”
                                                 ---------------------------
to Kaede and Kaito’s surpise, not that many people turned up to the party. There was probably about 10,including themselves
it makes sense, everyone’s probably still looking for a way to escape…talk about being a bit of a party pooper
Kaede thought to herself,as she stood close to a wall, biting into a kebab looking thing.thinking back to the other students and what happened to them in their last killing game,Kaede felt as if that they two were also shouldering the same level of stress as she was.taking another bite into her kebab, she saw that Gundham was approaching her, looking a bit stressed
“greetings, mortal.have you by any chance seen Kazuichi anywhere?”
“Kazuichi?i don’t think I have no…wasn’t he with you?”
“well,I had turned my back on him to grab the two of us some nourishments, but when I had turned back around,he had disappeared”
Kaede gave a nervous look.whenever someone were to disappear in a time like this, you know that something had happened to them.taking in how nervous Gundham was,Kaede began to place her food onto the table
“i-I’ll look for him…you just stay here!”
Kaede stammers, before quickly leaving the party.
she began to walk down the hall where the party was being held, nervously sweating.she may’ve only met Kazuichi for less than a day,but that didn’t mean that she wouldn’t care about him.seeing how he reacted to the new killing game being announced,Kaede knew that he wouldn’t be the best alone.
as Kaede continued to walk, she passed a seemingly empty hall, where she heard an audible sniff.quickly turning and walking in,she could clearly see that it was a dead end, with nothing but a supply closet and an seemingly mental unstable Kazuichi sitting at the of the hall.
“Kazuichi…what are you doing here?Gundham’s looking all over for you, and…”
Kaede says, slowing approaching Kazuichi, seeing that he wasn’t in best shape
“are you okay…?”
“d-do I look okay?!how the hell are you guys so damn calm about all this?!th-this is my worst fucking nightmare come true!!someone’s gonna kill m-me soon anyways,so there’s no point!!”Kazuichi yells, cluthing his beanie with both of his hands
“I don’t care if all of ya are concerned! I-I’m gonna die!! their probably gonna aim for u-us survivors…f-fuck I can’t do this anymore!!”
Kazuichi screams, before becoming a sobbing mess once again.at that point,Kaede had fully approached him, kneeling down in front of him.gently grabbing both of Kazuichi’s hands as a strategy to try and clam him down, she gave a small smile
“i-I understand what your going through…everyone here is just as anxious as you are.i had a friend in my old killing game,he was kind od the self-loathing type,he acted a but like you.he had no self-confidence,and…”
Kaede trails off, biting her lip a little
“well,I can’t really remember but…what I’m trying to say is that you don’t have to worry.you got Gundham and i-we’ll make sure that no one trys and kill you.just remember that you’re a really great person,Kazuichi”
Kazuichi took that in,gently removing his hands out of Kaede’s grip, and rubbed his tearful eyes
“no one…no one has ever really said anything like that to me before…th-that’s the first time anyone has said that to me.th-thanks Kaede…!”he replies,as he gave some sort of a small smile to her
It was silent for a bit, before from inside the wall,a loud clanging noises filled their part of the room
“wh-what the hell was that?!”
“I don’t know…”Kaede mutters, before looking over at the supply closet. Getting up and heading to the door, with Kazuichi right behind her,she placed her trembling hand on the doorknob and opened it slowly
inside the closet was boxes thrown all over the floor, and Akane’s corpse laying against the wall, with knifes impaled in her neck and stomach, blood everywhere.

She’s interesting and feels fleshed out and despite dying early on, she haunts the narrative so strongly that she was one of my favorite characters for the whole game AND she’s vital to the climax of the story. All that said…
Kaede was marketed as the protagonist of the game, making her the first female protagonist in the main DR series (there’s a female protag in a spin-off but the two other games in the main series both had male protags). You start the game and you immediately notice she has a stronger personality than either of the male protags from the previous games, who, while I like them, tend to be the normal ones in an otherwise colorful cast. She felt like a break from the usual protag mold and we even got to have a male secondary character this time who relied on her for support. But. She isn’t the protag. The guy I just mentioned is. You find out mid-trial 1 that Kaede is (sorta unintentionally) the killer and you switch control to the guy character and Kaede then dies at the end of the trial. As far as a plot goes, this was really really cool and well-executed, but it also means the game intentionally decided to pull a bait-and-switch where they advertised the “first female protag of the series!” only to kill her off early on and reveal the true protag was actually a guy who, once again is a character I like, but is much more similar to the previous two protags than Kaede was. There was literally no reason they had to put a female character as the false protag here, as the twist would’ve worked equally well or maybe even more if they revealed a typical male protag character was the killer and instead switched to a female protag for the rest of the game.
KAMALA KHAN (MARVEL COMICS) (CW: Racism)
1.) One of the most prominent brown women in all of comics, beloved by the fan base. Recently killed in a PETER PARKER SPIDERMAN COMIC (despite being much closer with Miles Morales and having basically no relationship with Peter) in what’s probably the name of MCU synergy, which nobody wanted (she’ll probably be resurrected as a mutant, erasing her unique and interesting history as an Inhuman). She was using her shapeshifting powers again despite having stopped in her solo as she got more confident in her own skin and identity as a Pakistani American girl, died disguised as the very white Mary Jane as a fake out/last minute replacement for killing off MJ. I fucking hate it here. A cheap trick to drive sales. L + Misogyny + racism + are you fucking kidding me

Music
[Makoto Naegi x Hajime Hinata][Band!AU]
Category: Fluff
Makoto’s POV:
Protagonists Of The World, aka POTW. That was our band name. The members were Shuichi Saihara, who played guitar, Kaede Akamatsu, who played keyboard, Hajime Hinata, who played drums, and me, Makoto Naegi, who did vocals. We formed this band out of pure curiosity. We wanted to see how far we could get, and now, we were famous amongst the music community and the rest of Japan. It was so much fun, singing and playing our hearts out at our concerts. After our shows, we’d meet our fans and the looks of enjoyment on their faces made me so happy. We were adored by the media and we couldn’t be happier. Well... its not entirely true, for me anyway. I like one of our band members. I thought it was against the rules to date someone in the same band as you, but when Kaede and Shuichi got together, I thought that I had a chance. I really like Hajime. He’s so sweet and kind, and watching him play on stage is just amazing. Maybe I can ask Kaede for advice.
“Abour time!” Exclaimed Kaede with a smile.
“What do you mean, ‘about time’?” I asked with a pout. The blonde girl laughed and pat me on the shoulder.
“Its so obvious! The way you look at him is not the same as when you look at Shuichi and I!” She explained as I sighed.
“...is it really that obvious?” I asked as she nodded.
“He likes you too so... you should confess at our concert tomorrow!” She said as she clasped her hands together. I looked at her with surprise.
“He likes me??” I asked.
“Oh my god, you two are so oblivious...” she replied whilst face palming, “well anyway, take my advice and do it tomorrow, it’ll be romantic.”
“Yeah, thanks Akamatsu-Chan,” I said with a smile. I waved her goodbye and began to plan my confession.
It was the next day and we were preparing for our concert. It was packed with fans, their expressions varied. I was excited. I had planned out everything that would happen today, with some small help from Kaede and Shuichi. It’ll go great! Well, I’m hoping it will. Anyway, it was nearly time to go on stage and I looked over at the blonde girl and dark haired boy. They smiled at me and Kaede gave me a thumbs up.
“Okay guys, today’s show will be amazing! I want everyone to do their best!” I said with a wide smile. The band agreed happily and we walked on stage.
We took our places and I grabbed the mic.
“How’s everyone doing tonight?!” I asked as the crowd roared.
“Glad you’re all great! Before we begin, there’s something I have to do. Some might not agree with it, but guess what? Fuck it!” I shouted as I turned around and looked at my band members’ faces. They were suprised, but that was expected. I walked over to Hajime, grabbed him by the collar and kissed him passionately. The audience went wild as I pulled away. The taller boy’s face grew bright red in embarrassment.
“We can talk after the show,” I whispered as he nodded and I walked back to my place.
“Lets go everyone! Enjoy the show!” I shouted as we began to play.
A few songs and meeting fans later, we all finally had time to ourselves. Hajime was sitting on the ground backstage, his expression was conflicted. I sat down next to him, his cheeks burned a crimson red. I smiled and held his hand. He smiled back and leaned on me.
“The kiss was nice,” he said, breaking the silence.
“Want me to do it again?” I asked with a bright smile. Hajime didn’t even reply, he just kissed me on the lips. It felt amazing. We pulled away and stared at each other.
“I like you.”
“I like you too.”

Can you please do a Yandere Pre Game Shuichi x in game Kaede? Shuichi never got his audition, so Kaede remained the protagonist. He stopped liking DR, but he finds himself more interested in Kaede and only watched it for her. After finding out she and the other survivors escaped. He ran into her by chance as she hides from DR. He nabbed the girl and kept her tied up in his place. He thought if he could get her pregnant she won’t leave him.
Hiya!! Omg so this is like the first ask that I've ever answered on this blog omg. But I really wanna actually start writing something and I loved this prompt, going right into that beautiful dark messed up alley that I love!
But here are a few warnings before you decide to read: Super duper messed up and delusional Shuichi, kidnapping, light sadism, mentions of non-con and also possible forced impregnation.
If you're okay with this then please enjoy but if not then please don't read as I don't want to trigger or hurt anyone with my writings!
Shuichi had always loved Danganronpa. It was his escape from his sad excuse of an existence. His parents were never around in his life, always being too busy with getting drunk as all hell or just getting fucking high. He had to be independent from a very young age.
At school it wasn't exactly easier. He wasn't stupid and got good grades for what it was worth. Really he was one of the smartest students in his entire class.
Wouldn't this have meant that he had a lot of friends if he was such a good student?
Hahaaa, no.
He had absolutely no friends. Everybody were too creeped out by him. Nobody even bullied him because of the sounds of pleasure he made and how his face went red as well, just to add things up.
Plus his utter obsession with Danganronpa probably didn't help either. He basically breathed danganronpa at this point. It meant everything for him but even if anybody else liked danganronpa then they were never willing to talk to him about it because of his complete obsession over it and how his body started to tremble from joy and it almost seemed like he got turned on when he talked about deaths, executions and characters. It was just way too much for anybody to take.
So because of that he had nobody to talk too and he had accepted it. It hurt, yes, but he had accepted it that he was bound to be alone.
When Danganronpa had auditions for the new season then he had excitedly went there in hopes of becoming one of the new characters. God it was his life long dream. There were other people as well. He didn't pay them much attention but his eyes did move towards one girl with long, flowing blonde hair and violet eyes.
But after he saw her it was his turn to go and enter the auditioning room and no matter how hard he tried then eventually he was declined of a spot and was truly left devastated.
Shuichi felt so angry, so fucking angry and just done with everything. He had dedicated his entire life to this game and he didn't even get a spot that would have truly made his entire life? Well fuck that. Just fuck everything!
That was his slow declining of his obsession with danganronpa, nonetheless he still watched the new season and the only true good thing about the entire game was Kaede. Oh she was like a literal angel. Kaede Akamatsu, Ultimate Pianist, was her talent. She was so beautiful, so kind and sweet but yet so headstrong. Such beauty and grace in one person shouldn't be real but it was and he was the one witnessing it.
While his obsession with Danganronpa had disappeared then it was completely replaced with Kaede. He dreamed of Kaede, both during night and daydreamed about her in the day. He was in love with her. She was the perfect girl and she was supposed to be all his. Yes, she didn't know it yet but one day they would be together forever and ever. Nobody could ever tear them apart from one another. Such a beautiful thing to dream about.
However he grew deathly jealous of those who talked to her in game. Who did those fucking assholes think they were touching his angel?! She belonged to him and only him! Nobody else could ever appreciate her the way that he did. Imagining stabbing them to death always brought a smile to his lips. He would kill for her. He would hurt himself for her and truly give his life if that's what she wanted! His life meant nothing without her in it!
He had been thinking for so long how he could obtain that beautiful girl for himself. It felt impossible.
But then...
Fucking finally god decided to give him a break from all of his suffering and give him a present.
The male had already obviously learned of his beloved and other 'survivors' managing to escape from Danganronpa which had never happened before so Team danganronpa was after them. But what he hadn't expected was to be face to face with his beloved.
She had bumped into him and that sent her stumbling onto him as they fell to the ground. So cliche but he had no time think about that when his angel was here. This was a pretty secluded place where he was at and he always went here for walks. His poor darling looked like she really had gone through a lot.
"You're Kaede!" He said and smiled, hiding the true obsession he felt for her behind someone that just happened to know her which at this point everybody did because there was quite the money for anybody who brought at least one of the contestants to team danganronpa. But he didn't need money when he had her.
She had paled and the poor girl had bags under her eyes. "P-Please don't give me up! God please I don't want to go back!" She had begged him and he had to fight absolutely every fiber inside of him to not suffocate her with his hugs and kisses. He had instead smiled at her in a comforting manner and placed his arm on her shoulder.
"Hey it's okay. My name is Shuichi. I'll help you. I have a place where you can hide out." Of course she looked a little suspicious of a boy she had literally just met and who also offered her a place to stay. But she also looked so desperate and it looked like she had truly been on the run forever. So she was sleepless and her mind wasn't probably completely at the right place. "O-Okay. Just please help me."
A bright smile came to his lips when he grabbed her arm and pulled her along quickly with the hidden roads. Of course he was careful and they made it to his home safely. He had let her sit down and brought her a glass of water that had been drugged. His beautiful blonde had so gladly accepted it and drank it all in just two gulps.
In no time at all the drugs kicked in and she fell off the chair and onto the floor. He squealed in utter glee and picked her up in his arms, kissing her forehead. "Baby! We'll finally be together forever and ever! God I'm so happy!" He giggled and brought her to the basement, a soundproof basement.
Shuichi had already prepared everything for her. Even if he was never sure before if he could bring her here then it was always better to be safe then sorry and he had been completely right.
There was a fairly comfy mattress in the corner and also chains. He chained her up from her ankle, deciding to not chain up the rest of her body.
Well at least not yet.
When his beloved had woke up then she had been so happy that she cried and even screamed of joy! Even the few mean words that she had said had made him so happy.
The two of them had become one the same night he brought her to her home, where she belonged. He had waited way too fucking long and now that she was finally here in his arms he wasn't gonna waste any more time.
His beloved continued to cry those tears of joy with every thrust he had made into her. He melted from her warmth and he had left marks all over her body.
"P-Please stop! No! Stop it please!"
She had said those words but his lover was just confused from the pure joy of them finally becoming one. He had cuddled her weeping form close when he had finished and they fell asleep together.
Time passed and she had warmed up to him a lot more by now. Even if she did try to escape and almost managed to when he had removed the chain from her leg after she promised that she wouldn't run away from him. That she loved him. He had happily trusted her but she had broken it and tried to run away.
Well let's just say when he caught her he wasn't happy at all and the girl suffered a lot that night, so many cuts were left on her body and he had mindlessly used her body for his desires with blind rage. She was his and she would never ever leave him.
Shuichi was also doing this because he wanted them to become a family. He wanted her to be pregnant because with a child they would be even more happy together, forever.
It was another time of him having to force her to take a pregnancy test and everytime they had come back negative, leaving him devastated.
But this time...
Oh my god, it had actually happened.
Tears of joy ran down his cheeks as he showed her the positive pregnancy test. He giggled and hugged her close.
"We are gonna be a family baby! I love you so much honey!" His beloved cried from joy in his arms as she trembled heavily.
He was so glad that they were both so overjoyed!
Finally everything was completely perfect in his life and he couldn't be happier. Him and his beloved girlfriend would be together forever and raise a child. His dreams were finally true and Kaede's as well.
Why else would she keep crying so much from joy?
He kissed her forehead and cuddled, continuing to talk of their future.
Everything was finally perfect.

The Danganronpa Hoedown!
(play this while you read)
Kaede Akamatsu:
I was the protagonist in Danganronpa V3
People wanted a female protag, so fandom was happy
But then when you played the game, the happiness turned to anger
Because WHY in the HELL did I die in the FIRST chapter!
Hajime Hinata:
I am the protagonist of Danganronpa 2
People say my game is the best because I have the superior crew
That said, I could do without all of Junko’s abuse
Because, really, all I wanted was a glass of orange juice
Kyoko Kirigiri:
I’m not actually a protagonist, I’m just a major character
Makoto is the true protag, but people say I’m better
The Despairs want me dead, they think I’m such an arrogant diva
But I’m still here and guess who’s dead, it’s Junko Enoshima
Makoto Naegi:
I’m the protagonist of the Hope’s Peak Academy Arc
My series is really fun but I admit, it gets kinda dark
You should play my games if you like mysteries and are really horny
It’s like this; my games are hentai mixed with Ace Attorney
Kaede, Haime, Kyoko, and Makoto all together:
Hentai mixed with Ace Attorney!
