A Few of my Headcanons for Danganronpa: Post Hope Arc (SPOILERS AHEAD)

• While rebuilding the REAL Jabberwock Island, the former Remnants of Despair build a statue of Chiaki (and Monomi) as a Memorial for her in the center of Jabberwock Park. The previous statue was destroyed during the tragedy.

• The cast of V3 attend New Hope's Peak as new students with Makoto as their headmaster. Except there are no meteorites and no Gofer Project. And nobody dies.

• Chiaki's body was preserved in a morgue underneath Hope's Peak (perhaps Junko had plans on using it for something). The former Remnants give her a proper burial at the site of her statue and some of her organs are saved for potential medical transplants (her blood type was O, which makes her a universal donor.)

• Nagito quickly burns his old Junko hand as well as Fuyuhiko's old Junko eye. Hajime is the only one who knows about Mikan taking one of Junko's internal organs (if you know, you know) and, now having all the talents, helps safely remove it from her and gives her Chiaki's in place of it.

• At first, Mikan is convinced that Nagito still hates her for the events of Chapter 3 when in reality, Nagito has let go of the grudge. As a result, Mikan tries to avoid Nagito due to this belief and Nagito believes this is because he is worthless scum. Not too long after, however, things are cleared up and the two are on good terms again.

• Makoto tries to pull off a surprise proposal to Kyoko, but being the Ultimate Detective, she's able to figure out what's going on. She still says yes though.

• Kyoko serves as a mentor for Shuichi.

Kyoko in DR3 looked at her impossible task - solve the murders before she and Makoto both die - and then, when forced to make a choice between save herself or save the person she loves?

Made the same choice Yui did.

And that's Yui's influence.

Pre-Black Challenge Kyoko could never. Her family creed is to put the case first, even above family (which is why Jin split - because Grandpa Kirigiri wouldn't let Kyoko go see her dying mother because they were on a case, and Mama Kirigiri died - and Jin was right for splitting, but he was wrong for leaving Kyoko there).

During DR Kirigiri, we see Kyoko making the comment that sometimes you have to let people die to solve the case, and every time she makes that claim, Yui rebukes her. No. We try and save everyone. We save as many people as we possibly can. Like them or not, we go to save them, even at the risk of our own lives.

Saving victims is the most important thing.

And we see Kyoko learning from this in vol. 6 - we maybe can't win the sniper game, but we can try to keep everyone from getting on the island. (Except there are flaws in that plan which she quickly brings up.)

Kyoko doesn't pull Makoto into her investigations because then he would be at risk from the mastermind, made most blatant when Junko bops him on the head and steals the Hope's Peak yearbooks.

Junko is playing a game with Kyoko.

Makoto becomes alibi and bait.

DR3 and Kyoko's choice to sacrifice herself to save Makoto, even though he might not be able to figure things out, is an homage to Yui and what she learned from her.

(It's also her way of saying that she's tired of other people dying for her. That she's taking the bullet this time.)

This is how you recontextualize canon.

DR3 Chiaki: the “Mary Sue” of the franchise.... Right?

To this day, i still do not understand why people say this. 

“Unrealistically lacking in flaws or weaknesses.”

Okay, I'll buy it. Let’s take a look at everything that happens to her in DR3!

Aww look at that, Hajime and Chiaki like each other, so wholesome and cute :)

Oh what’s that? Chiaki didn't notice something was up with Hajime, disappeared for months/years, only to be found again as a emotionless being with no memory?

Okay, that sucks... But Oh OH! She turns class rep right? And everyone is cool with that right? 

Awww look at that, she’s getting a lot of praise, surely this can’t backfire, right?

Oh, her overconfidence caused everyone to follow her into the hidden place, causing everyone BUT her to turn remnant?

Ouch.. But! But! Chisa loves Chiaki a lot right? Like almost a parent relationship between the two, surely this can’t end badly, right?

Oh. Her trust in Chisa caused her to not realize that something was seriously off with Chisa, causing her demise.

Seriously, out of almost any character in the SERIES, DR3 Chiaki has been fucked over the most, like holy moly.

And in the end her lasting legacy is the most painful (and longest) execution in the series, and Hajime/Izuru remembering her. atleast with DR2 Chiaki she died in the way she wanted, Helped Hajime, and defeated the big bad once and for all. DR3 Chiaki had NOTHING. No conclusion, no idea what happened to the ones she loved, and why Mikan and Chisa betrayed her. Just pure sadness for everyone involved (excluding Junko).

I’m gonna be doing some Ask doodles for the Ivory Mirage AU! This is mainly to get myself motivated again because I have like,, no energy. So ask away! Please note that certain questions might not be answered for a while. My sister just finished the investigation part of Chapter 4 in sdr2, and she already figured out the killer was Gundam by herself, but beyond that, she knows nothing! So any questions relating to spoilers after that point will have to be put on standby— but they’ll definitely be answered later! Story from that point on just so happen to be especially relevant to the AU, so if you’re willing to wait, some juicy content is definitely coming your way!

For now, sit tight, and enjoy some Hinanami! Both Hinanami and Komahina are canon to the Ivory Mirage AU, just at different points in time, so this is still relevant.
