It wasn’t rare for you to be staying up waiting for him to come home, but tonight he was especially late coming home and he truly did not expect you to still be up. The clock almost ticked 3:30am and he truly wished he didn’t have to stay out so late if he knew you would still be up. He was going to ask why you were still up and tell you about how you should’ve just slept without him, but he knew you would tell him you would be too worried to fall asleep regardless.

“I’m so sorry I was so late,” he said, apologetically. “But really, next time you shouldn’t mind me. It’s far too late.”

“And it’s far too late for you to be out with no one to greet you when you come home,” you replied with a soft smile. Gosh he was in love with you. “Waiting for you to come home is one of my happiest times, at least let me do this much. Besides, it’s a Friday we get to sleep in tomorrow.”

And you were absolutely correct. Although he’d tell you every single time to go ahead and sleep, it still warmed his heart when he saw you reading a book or scrolling through your phone with a warm tea, waiting for him to come home. The way your face would brighten up when he came home was truly the only thing that could heal him from a long day at work.

“I’ll hop in the shower real quick, so go to sleep okay? It’s still not good to be up this late,” he said as he took off his coat and put his stuff down, getting ready to step into the bathroom.

“Wait,” you said, almost subconsciously.

“What is it, love?”

“Oh, um,” you said, you hadn’t meant to say it out loud. You looked up at him slightly embarrassed. “....kiss?”

A faint blush covered his face as his eyes narrowed and lips pursed. He did not understand how you managed to make his heart flutter from such simple words after all this time, but he did understand that this wasn’t going to go away. He walked right back to you and pressed a kiss on your lips. He was going to kiss you again when he resisted the temptation and kissed you on your forehead instead.

“Why not?” you asked quietly. You were going to kill him if you kept this up.

“Because I’m not going to be able to stop at this rate,” he said, but you went and kissed him instead.

“But I don’t want you to...” you said. That was it, he was giving in. Saving the country was a whole lot easier of a challenge than the ones you gave him it seemed.

“Okay, now you’ve done it,” he said, kissing you again.

The shower will have to wait a little.

i hope what’s gone on the last day has served as a lesson and reminder to people that this affects our entire community and to cause drama and distress, even if you think its only aimed towards one person, means others will filter out and jump ship to avoid the same treatment. how many times must we continue to reiterate that this is the reason our fandom is dying and continuing to die — it costs nothing to be a decent person and at least then this community would still be thriving. hopefully whatever fandoms you all go onto next get the grace that our one hasn’t.

Characters baring a mouth full of sharp fangs as show of aggression is top tier but can we talk about how sinister a flash of smooth square omnivore teeth can be. The implications therein? The difference between facing a carnivore vs a member of the terrifyingly, aptly named 'opportunistic eaters'? The fear of being on one's menu, the knowledge that you are on the other's - no matter what you are. The inherent danger of a threat display where there are set rules to avoiding harm turning into a hunt on a dime.

Anyway, thinking about Nikodemus and how beautifully all of this translates into his supernatural setting...

#man said Eater eater. on all levels including spiritual he is an omnivore #on my 'omnivores are the most terrifying kind of animal' grind #no one is truly safe fr we can be as high on the energy food chain as vegetables fruit and grain #or as low as munching on carnivore-eating carnivores #so yeah maybe i like the idea of that extending to the preternatural in the respective worlds i play him in #as much as nik's beyond inhuman at this point he truly embodies the spirit of humanity by clawing his way to the top of the food chain #when he started at the metaphysical bottom #inspired by me saying nik has a mouth full of sharp fangs spiritually in my head - like the way we see carnivore teeth as inherently scary #and then realizing no you know what omnivore teeth are more terrifying we're just desensitized because we're part of that horrid 3%#thinking about the lion-eating chimpanzees #or hedgehogs eating snakes #something about an animal not as associated with violence and danger nor even built for it eating creatures who are #simply because it was hungry and there was no other more convenient food source #thinking about Avita tangentially. my other eater who has more readily available energy sources than souls #but would not deny herself a morsel if prey was stupid enough to purposefully wander into her path and challenge her #to be fair she wouldn't even bare her teeth #q.

OKAY so im going through the leaked trailer for The Bad Batch season three right? And @missfrieden and I were talking about Hemlock cloning Tech/mixing his and Crosshair's DNA which is an AWESOME concept btw

But then as I was going through the trailer again, I heard a line from Crosshair that made me pause

"I am not them."

Now, in context, Omega was talking about being his sibling. But when thinking about the "recloning dead clones" it really had me thinking

What if Crosshair's already dead?

What if the Crosshair we see in season 3 is just a copy of Crosshair, and he's trying desperately to tell Omega that? That he's not actually real? That she's wasting her time on him because he ISNT the real Crosshair?

Maybe he's trying to tell her so bad as a warning. Because they've cloned Crosshair, and Tech is next.

I think I'm going to either throw up or sob excessively. Maybe both.

I'm not sure how to put this exactly, but. In some episodes, we really get to see Stan show some qualities, we get to see why Dorothy still had some good times with him, and that makes the whole 38-year-marriage-turned-bitter-divorce worse to me. Because it means he had it in him to be a good person and a good husband all that time and he just didn't choose to be.

#once again thinking about dorothy's marriage. it truly is my roman empire #this thought was sparked by watching s4e10: stan takes a wife #and he is genuinely not that bad in that episode! he's cheap and wears a girdle #but he's also supportive of dorothy. sweet. he helps her get much needed information on sophia. (though he did get her favorite food wrong)#and his fiancée seems to genuinely love him so he can't be that bad to her #but then this is the same man that made 38 years of dorothy's life horrible #cheated on her all throughout their marriage #insults her often and happily #left her for a young girl without even having the decency to tell her in person #and it's just. if he was horrid all the time it would be one thing #but *some* times he actually behaves like a decent person. so he knows how to do it!#he just doesn't think it was worth it to be that person for dorothy #and that feels so much worse to me #anyway. kudos to blanche and rose for stopping dorothy from making the biggest mistake of her life in the most hilarious possible way #they were a pleasure to watch #(this is also why the s6 plot where dorothy almost marries him again was always so strange to me?? like. i don't think they'd let her)#(or they'd at least try to convince her otherwise)#the golden girls

#as a side note i had a moment of horrid irony when i thought suddenly that I WISHED mr knight were there #because he was at the vigil last year and used to be a part of my church. and i suddenly missed all my old housemates #who were here last year! went to hug people during the peace and a good friend asked if i was okay #i was like 😭😭😭😭 not really and then turned around and SAW the boy and was like well this is a twist in the plot i truly dont care for #anyway all's well i just cried buckets more my heart's been wrung OUT #he lives fae away. he was not supposed to come. anyway he did and i shook his hand formally because he offered to (???)#*far away #it was totally bizarre #he did not stay for long which. thank God. i wouldve been so much more tired if he had #but he wished me happy birthday which irked me because we'd had an unspoken agreement to not wish each other happy birthday (for fear of #mixed signals) which. happened i guess #it was INCREDIBLY bizarre. the safest ive ever felt in my life was when he was holding me #and now he's a familiar stranger i know too well whom i dont WANT to know #anyway it has been a heartwrenching and soul draining Lent and past six months or more and i was ready to cry #and so i did. bawled like a baby after certain readings and songs. cried and cried and cried #re: reasons for that concerning the ex boyfriend: it is SO weird and i dont know how to deal with it #like. i still have so much love that it feels like grief and the grief bleeds into that love too #but that love isnt for HIM anymore or at least not the person i found he was. so now it really does have nowhere to go #ANYHOW IT'S LATE BUT THE POINT IS. back to working on the video i'm so fucking frustrated at the recording they sent...... i really should have specified that they should send something upbeat and rhythmic bc what the fuck...... IM SO FRUSTRATEDDDDDDDDDDDDDD...... this whole project has been very frustrating albiet w many breakthroughs, learning experiences, not to mention praise directed at me thank you very much and i guess i'm acting like a kid/student needing attention and for ppl to anticipate my needs. but why did he send me a recording with no rhythm. fuck.

#i just expected that they would understand the tone after submitting multiple drafts of the video for feedback.#now i'm watching it w the new audio and i'm like ready to shoot myself bc it's so wack now. i built the original reel around the og audio #now the whole thing feels deflated..... the deadline is friday but i feel like i need to ask them to send another bc it's truly horrid
