Hi!! I am very OOTL - can you give a recap of what the lover house… is exactly? I mean, I know it’s in the MV and that it burns visually on tour. But what did the fandom turn it into in between? Sorry to ask you to explain, I don’t want to treat you like Google. I wish there was a fandom wiki, lol!

Hi! No it's fine - fandom is very confusing lol.

It became a kind of ongoing joke that each of the rooms in the Lover house were representative of a previous Taylor album based on understood discography colour coding and so in our typical rabid bunny nonsense fuckery we started Easter Egging the shit out of the house and making guesses as to when TS8 and TS9 would come and what they would represent and mean based on their location in the house.

The energy, as is our default, was this:

And then Taylor started using the Lover house as a merch portal on her official website, marking the joke as official canon and then even more so when she included it in visuals on the tour.

And that's what you missed on Glee.

This is my rant for the night

Taylor Swift literally wrote a song called OUT OF THE WOODS BEFORE she met her boyish beau. Then she released an album she described as nighttime where she was hiding behind closed doors with her lover having a grand ol time. And then released her first fully owned album Lover. Which she described as the juxtaposition of reputation as a daytime album. An album that she ends with a song that was ALMOST the name of the album where she is exasperatedly singing about finally seeing DAYLIGHT. Not being in daylight just seeing it nearby. She places the song at the end of the album. Not the beginning…THE END. And throughout that album she repeatedly sings about being trapped INSIDE. Then she cuts the entire era short. AN ERA FILLED WITH RAINBOWS AND COLOR AND BRIGHTNESS AND STANDING TALL. Then proceeds to release two FULL ALBUMS that are set in the woods in cloudy, snowy, cold dark skies. And where she repeatedly sings about being trapped OUTSIDE herself on the outside looking in. Two albums she made completely AFTER the sale of her masters. Two sister albums that are TS8 and TS9 respectively. Two albums she released in the SAME YEAR. The albums are what 1989 was for her.

And from the first of those two albums she literally made a music video where she literally depicts how music was her life raft and safe haven (cardigan) during difficult times. Then she LITERALLY made a SEQUEL to that music video (willow) a music video for the second album in the woods where she LITERALLY acts out how she came out in her music then realized she couldn’t get out the same way to be connected with herself. She LITERALLY USED A PERSON NAMED TAE to play opposite HERSELF. She Literally shows Tae in the reflection of the water and then has that side of her disappear and she dives into the water to chase it. Then she continues through the music video chasing her other half THROUGH THE WOODS at night. Then She LITERALLY ends the video reconnecting with the other half of herself THEN WALKING out of the cabin IN THE WOODS into daylight.

How do people not see that she’s come out already in her music then got separated from herself. Half of herself is trapped in the music THAT SHE DOESN’T OWN so the other half of her is trapped outside. So she is on a quest to reunite with herself and come out whole into the daylight (still not out the woods though).

I’m tired.

Yes every place you see capital letters was me actually screaming while typing this out lol.

This is getting out of hand. Now there are two of them!

I found a well priced Rockbass infinity to feed my addiction add to my rapidly growing stable of instruments. She’s a sweet little thing. Comfy, very light, and it plays incredibly well, especially compared to the J which feels like strapping a coffee table across your tits.

Also coming soon to be added to the collection is the bits to build myself a Tubescreamer, which I’ll no doubt share here. Basses and TS9s are a match made in heaven IMO.

Can we please talk about how the bridge to Coney Island is a reference to Jake, John, Harry, and Calvin?

Jake: “Were you standing in the hallway with a big cake, happy birthday”

John: “Did I paint your bluest skies the darkest grey?”

Harry: “And when I got into the accident , the sight that flashed before me was your face”

Calvin: “But when I walked up to the podium, I think that I forgot to say your name”

Maybe while re-recording, she was reminded of the moments when her past relationships went downhill. I find this all really interesting and I knew that the bridge was important but I think I see it now. I could be wrong, but it’s fun to theorize ✨❤️

So a few days after I posted this I also just realized that

I honestly didn't think this week could've end up like this but it did. We now have TS9. It is crazy to think that in may we were still in the Lover Era and now we have 2 others album in few months. My favs change every minute but rn it is "No body, No crime"and "champagne problems".

Just some things that stuck out to me…

I know everyone is jumping on the 18 months bit and it probably means something.

Track names

But DM specifically mentioning track 2 (Cruel Summer), track 3 (Lover), and track 11 (London Boy) from the Lover album. Then mentioning track 8 (Gorgeous) from her rep album felt rather specific.

And the order the songs are mentioned just feels intentional.

Track 3 + track 8 then Track 11 + track 2.

That is 11 and 13

the 2 and 3 as bookends = 5 so what is 8/11…

To me

The track names feel intentional because they didn’t list the track names for the songs WB is credited on for folklore and evermore.

Instead the article just says “two songs” and “three more songs.”

Additionally

Interestingly enough the way this refers to TS8 (folklore) and TS9 (evermore) feels like a 1989 TV hint. Because 2 + 3 = 5 and Taylor made TS 8 and 9 sister albums because ‘89

The numbers just always seem to line up.

Bonus

The article mentions “behind closed doors” twice and “stay away from the cameras” and l”sworn to secrecy” which just makes me think of the I Know Places lyrics and the performance from the 1989 world tour
