“Oh wow- Your files are so well organized!” A fellow scavenger friend of yours came over to hang out and talk about your recent finds.

“Everything is in a specific place and labeled too! Blueprints, notes, maps and diagrams, even costs of machinery!”

You had shut down your automatons for the day so they wouldn’t cause a ruckus, after all yours were known to be a bit... unpredictable around other people.

“Hm? Oh- nah none of that was me. Azul, organized those stuff. Like all of it. He’s incredibly skilled.” You shrugged honestly, smiling to yourself as you remembered jolting awake at night, only to see Azul copying all your papers and placing them in neat folders despite you never asking for it. “He works pretty hard.”

“Azul?... Oh- oh your bot? You give credit to your bots..?”

“I mean- yeah? I didn’t do any of it after all.”

Your friend hummed. “I guess that makes sense. Sorry I’m just so used to people taking full credit of what their bot did.”

You shook your head irritably. “Credit should be given where credit is due.” You both made soft conversation as an onlooker gazed at you in shock. Not that it showed on his face. After all. He was supposed to be completely shut down.

Azul often scoffed at his masters, those who believed they had any power over him and took the credit for his hard work. Once information was handed over, Azul was the one in control now. Despite this, he is still just a bot. Humans had created many failsafes in case of malfunctions and to think with a mind of your own as an automaton made to serve, was definitely considered a malfunction.

Everything would be wiped and taken away from him and like trash, he was thrown aside. He would never feel that stability of power again.

Until you came along. Eyes shining, you were perfect for him. Easy to manipulate, naive and excited over every little thing you found rotting in abandonment within the dump outside your home. You were his savior, his client. His victim.

But he had learned his lesson. This time, he would be more cautious. He would do things for you without being asked to under the pretense of “repaying a debt” as he called it, he would let you become dependent and cocky like every human does. He would suck it up when you took the credit for his efforts in order to benefit him in the long run.

But you didn’t. No none of his past experiences could prepare him for the way you checked in on him as he worked, asking if he wasn’t burning himself out (literally) or the way you thanked him sincerely for his hard work. Azul was never worried over, never thanked.

He suffered to take revenge on those who wronged him. But how was he supposed to take revenge on someone who only did him right? For now, at least.

So as he waited, hidden behind a curtain, Azul trained his eyes on you and your friend conversing happily.

‘Credit should be given where credit is due.’ you had said.

It wasn’t the first time you exercised that belief. Even as you received strange looks from others who would’ve done differently, you always gave credit where it was due.

“Ruggie found those parts for me actually. He’s got a sharp eye!”

“No, no, I didn’t make that- Trey did. Pretty good right? Let me tell you about the time he made some brownies...”

“I didn’t put this together on my own. Jamil and Jade gave a lot of guidance too. They’re really helpful with repairs and stuff.”

“Kalim and Epel had a hand in cleaning the house with me the other day! There were some stumbles but it was probably the most fun I had cleaning my garage ever.”

“Isn’t my makeup amazing?? Vil is so good with it and I can’t believe how talented he is— yes I know he’s a bot it’s still cool though!”

To be praised. To be referred to as an equal. It is unheard of for automatons to receive that kind of treatment. Ever. Until they met you. And they would do anything to keep you.

“Thanks for having me over! Haha if you ever don’t need your Azul bot, then send him over to my house- I could use that hardworking efficiency.”

“Pfft alright I’ll ask him about it.” Your friend rolled their eyes with a laugh and waved goodbye.

You picked up the food remnants of your friend’s visit and put everything away in the rare silence of your home. There was usually always some machinery whirring or clicking coming from your bots- if not the endless chatter from the more talkative ones.

Making your way over to the translucent curtain draped over the bots you thought so fondly of, you dusted Azul off and fixed his glasses with a gentle smile. The same one you wore when he was nothing but broken scraps with nothing to offer.

“Azul, you could probably be assigned to someone really rich and powerful with better living conditions than a scavenger like me.” You touched his face gently. “I’m sorry you’re stuck with me for now.”

Just as you powered him on, his hand shot out to grab your wrist. Yelping in surprise, your eyes met with his periwinkle ones glimmering with something unknown.

“A-Azul?”

You wince as his grip becomes tighter and more unforgiving, sure to leave a mark. Just as he wants.

He brings your hand up, pressing your palm to his lips in a manner too intimate for an automaton to be capable of. Tears welled up in your eyes at the sensation of pain and tenderness from him as he whispers against your skin.

“I will never serve any one else but you. No one. Not even you can tear me away from being yours. Or you mine.”

You gave this poor little octobot a chance to experience something he had never even dreamed was possible before, and you can’t possibly think about letting him go anytime soon because you were different. So he would treat you differently.

The day you took him in, you made a deal. A deal that enabled equal and opposite care between the two of you.

Credit should be given where credit is due, and Azul feels as though he hasn’t given enough credit for all the kindness you’ve shown him.

The automaton intertwines his fingers with your own, sending shivers down your spine, and flashes a smile similar to that of a businessman who scored a good deal.

Hitched breathing and heart thumping, he brings you to his chest. Somehow cold yet burning against your skin.

“You’re mine.” he repeated, commandingly. desperately.

You signed the contract marked upon his manmade heart, so won’t you let him stick around? Don’t worry, it’s just until the contract ends.

And as for how long it stays active?

Indefinitely.

Because I overthink here is a map for the TWST Monster AU

The Town of Holyisle: A human town with a monastery run by the abbot, Rollo. The population of the village is fully human and monsters are seen as enemies that should be shunned.

Yuu's Home: Home of the witch, Yuu, and their cat-like imp familiar, Grim. They often make potions for the Riverside Village and the town of Holyisle.

Riverside Village: A farming village that's the home of both monsters and humans. The Lord of the Village is the centaur, Riddle, whose servants include Trey, the minotaur, as his personal cook, Cater, the slime, as his financial advisor, and Che'nya, a catfolk menace who refuses to leave. There are also two newer servants, Deuce, the rabbitfolk, and Ace, the satyr. Another notable figure is the local historian, the human Trein.

Shoreside Reef: A town just off the coast filled fully with merfolk. The head of the village is Azul, an octopus merfolk who also engages heavily with trade on the island and has established a number of businesses on land. His closest confidants are Jade and Floyd, twin eel merfolk who do the dirty work for Azul.

Haunted Cave: A mysterious cave guarded by a small automaton named Ortho who is meant to protect the cave from outsiders, but he mostly just spends time with the resident ghost who is also his brother, Idia.

The City of Pomme: A large city with a population that's mostly monsters. The Lord of the City is the demons, Vil, who is also a popular actor in his theater company. His personal assistant is Rook, a troll and hunter, who was a fan of his performances. The new up and coming star is the fairy Epel who has been taken under Vil's wing. Another popular actor is the angel Neige who is the lead actor in a rival theater company. Another notable figure is the seamster and fasion designer, Crewel.

Duskfall Savanna: A fully monster city with a majority of the population being beastfolk. The lord of the city is Leona, a lionfolk, who doesn't really like his position. His personal servant is the hyenafolk, Ruggie. The gardener for Leona's estate is a wolfolk named Jack. Another notable figure is Vargas, a manticore, who is known for causing chaos from time to time.

Scalding Oasis: A desert city known for its many monster artisans and high quality goods. The Lord of the City is the harpy, Kalim, who is always accompanied by his servant, the naga Jamil. Another notable person is the ghoul, Sam, who runs the most expansive market in the entire oasis.

The Dragon's Domain: A territory ruled by the dragon, Malleus, who lives in his own personal tower. The others who live in his territory include the vampire batfolk, Lilia, the lizardfolk, Sebek, and the centaur, Silver who help care for the territory and act and confidants of Malleus.

Old Ruins: Not much is known about the old ruins other than it acts as a home for a dark feathered harpy.

So I have a great many ideas about @jackplushie's automaton au. And they said it was okay for me to write out a post of it! I was originally gonna do one really big post but. That got too long soooo individual dorm posts with the spoilers under read mores. I also tried to keep this compliant with everything already written about the au which... is why cater is so short here because there was already a post about him.

Also tiny lore (?) thing, each 'dorm' is more so the company who produces the bots.

(Also I wrote this vaguely enough that it could work for any of the sub aus so ye)

Heartslabyul

Riddle is a newer, more experimetal bot designed as a manager for other androids. As a result he tends to be rather strict with other androids in particular.

Not with you of course! After all, yours are the rules he's committed to enforcing.

After all his original job fell through after he left his post for only a short time, and he was discarded as a result with the program deemed a failure.

He doesn't plan to make the same mistake again, so please keep him around! He'll keep the rest in line for you.

He's very good at that too, as part of his purpose he has the ability to instantly shutdown other bots. It works best on other bots from his company, but other androids know to be wary around him, unless they want to go to sleep for a while.

Trey bots are designed to cook! They can keep recipe information, have built in tools like knives and heating elements, and are great at dispensing scents and flavorings!

They're pretty popular due to how well they do their job, and yours does too! He... also does stuff other than cooking though. He can be quite a bit more liberal with those knives or heaters if someone gets too close.

But it's fine, he's just doing his best for you. There's not anything *you* have to be scared of, at least.

Cater is also a pretty popular bot, who's more of a generalist, he's pretty good at just about anything you ask him too do, be that keeping an eye on things or just hanging out with someone. Although other Caters you've seen aren't NEARLY as good at holding a conversation as yours.

He's been bugging you to get a few more of him actually, just for safety, and so he can help you more! Apparently one Cater can control multiple cater bot bodies! How convenient!

If you DO get multiple, be prepared to have at least one hanging off your arm at any given time.

Deuce was originally designed for enforcement, cracking skulls and breaking bones of anyone his master wanted him to.

Now though... he's trying to be more 'normal'. Deuce is the most obviously weird compared to the other bots, because while the others aren't super obvious about their whole conciousness thing Deuce is VERY obviously rejecting his initial programming.

He trys and acts more like a model citizen, he runs errands, escorts you where you need to go, and he... tries to help around the house.

Of course, he can't actually get rid of that old side of himself, and if anyone were to get close with the intent to harm you... well... You won't have to worry about that! He'll handle it for you! So make sure to keep him around please.

Ace bots are made to entertain, be that putting on magic shows or cracking jokes.

Yours definitely... does that. He's quite a fan of showing off card tricks or trying to make you laugh, you can barely pay attention to anyone else without him trying to make a joke to get your eyes back on him.

He always seems restless whenever you're walking around with him, wether that be making fun of the other bots as you see the ads for them or glaring at the other people when he thinks you aren't looking.

He doesn't really hate them or anything, he's just annoyed they keep dragging your attention away from him, he's made to keep everyone's attention so just don't look away okay? :)

(short spoilers for near end of chapter 5)

Deuce bots are also pretty good at taking hits, and yours is pretty good at it too, manipulating the force he takes in and then... dishing it back out... very much increased. The Last bot who tried to get to you was unrecognizable after landing just one punch on your Deuce.

Whether it’s cause of the new pjo show or because my brain decided that this is what will consume my thoughts for awhile by itself, I’ve been thinking about my pjo x twst au. So, have some Shroud sibs stuff!

So this is Idia, and she’s a child of Hades and the counselor of Cabin 13. She’s gender-fluid, she’s most often masc, and the main way you can tell is how she wears her hair. She’ll often wear her hair up in a ponytail or a braid when feeling feminine, and have it down when she feels masculine. Ofc, there’s exceptions, but that’s one of the easiest ways to tell.

She’s been going to CHB for a long time, and I’m not sure when she started, maybe at 7-8 years old? I feel that the Shrouds would be upfront about it all. The kids would have probably known about camp long before going there.

She wears a modified version of the CHB shirt, with it being a black hoodie instead of the orange t shirt. The design also has a skeleton Pegasus instead of a normal one. It was a joke made by the person who made the modified version for her.

Extra: Her hair is still blue, and still changes color with her emotions despite it not being cursed like in canon. This is cause of a (now dead) child of Iris playing a joke on her for being a child of Hades, in reference to the Disney version of the god. Ortho ended up getting their hair changed as well when the child of Iris refused to turn it back to Idia’s natural black.

And here’s the Ortho’s!

When OG!Ortho died, Idia tried to summon him as often as she could, but when she started to get too tired from that, she, along with the help of some of the Cabin 9 kids (they think she needs desperate help, but they couldn’t resist not helping) made ORTHO to house his spirit so that it wouldn’t be as taxing on her. Also, it’s powered with use of Greek fire, which is why the flame is still there in the design.

Eventually, ORTHO gained her own sentience, and now both she and the OG!Ortho share the same body. The two have plenty of nicknames to distinguish one from the other, but the main one that people use is “Spring” for the automaton and “Autumn” for the soul.

They do have other differences, such as Spring likes to keep her hair up while Autumn likes it down, Autumn prefers clothes and Spring doesn’t, and most of the time, Spring will have the mask over her mouth, while Autumn has it over his eyes. That one isn’t a definite though. Also, Spring has bangs that sweep to her right and Autumn’s bangs sweep to his left.

Also, since their hair isn’t made of fire like in canon, it faces downward rather than floating upward.

Also, designs might be changed.

Fun Fact! The Ortho’s are able to talk to each other in their head. They don’t always get along, but such is life for siblings.

Also, they call one another “Death” (Autumn) and “Sleep” (Spring) as a reference to the godly underworld twins, as Spring and Autumn consider themselves to be twins as well.

Hello, congratulations for receiving 700+ followers! :D

I kind of wonder if that request is ok, since it isn't twst chara x reader whatsoever, but I'd like to ask for general headcanons(who they are and how they met each other) with Savanaclaw put into gaslamp fantasy AU(I imagine it as more of steampunk + high fantasy settings, because of my preference to Victorian aesthetic, but if you have more ideas with Edwardians, then go for it :) ).

This was a lot of fun to think about and imagine in my brain theater, hehe. -Shopkeep

Gaslamp Fantasy AU With The Savanaclaw Dorm

Of course still a prince in this universe, but continues down the path of a 2nd son that knows he won’t be in line for the throne anytime soon. But unlike our Leona who kind of just lazes about in NRC days, Leona in a gaslamp fantasy is busy scouring the skies in his airship.

While he may not be the next king, his family and brother expect him to still play a role in the royal family. While his brother takes care of official matters, Leona was given responsibilities as a protector of his kingdom’s people.

While Leona does indeed do his job, does he exactly do it right…? Not really. Think of it along the lines of, “Hey I’m a sky pirate to take down other sky pirates” “Leona, you can’t do that.” “Watch me.”

Also this just gives him an excuse to stay out of royal affairs and happily sail among the clouds. You can think of the Savanaclaw dorm being his rag-tag sky pirate crew.

I imagine unique magic is still a thing within this world. The properties of King’s Roar are still the same albeit rather than turning things into sand, he instantly causes his surroundings to turn to rust. This can be devastating especially within a world that relies heavily on metals for technology.

Though he puts up the front that he’s an uncaring, greedy pirate captain, we all know he cares. He could have easily gone down a path of abandoning his legacy and being a full fledged pirate but every treasure he eyed or adventure he craved, it always benefits his kingdom in some way. Whether people realize it or not.

Cheka is COMPLETELY enamored over the idea that his uncle is a cool sky pirate. He’s so intent on being a pirate too when he grows up and the family is trying desperately to not let him get too influenced by Leona.

Definitely has a get-up very similar to his Halloween outfit. Though he would have more of a ruffled shirt that’s still showing off a lot of his chest because… Yeah… Anyway, he may have to lose the eyepatch and nautical details, but I do like the hat. Just give him a bandana underneath it and bam, there’s our captain.

He may not be the proper definition of a king, but he’s a king among clouds and thieves and you know what? He likes that image a lot better than a prim and proper prince on a throne.

Oh you know Ruggie is gonna be our cute wise-cracking thief from the bustling city streets. He’s busy hustling through the crowds, pickpocketing snobby nobles and pulling fast ones on poor naive newcomers.

Knows a busy city like the back of his hand. Incredibly acrobatic and can shake any guard off his tail by doing some dynamic tricks. A slippery little guy!

I cannot get the image out of my head that his outfit would be so dang adorable. Like everything he wears looks too big for him. He wears overalls with so many patchwork pockets, chunky boots, his shirt has rolled up sleeves, fingerless gloves, and typical funky goggles around his neck. Also often dirtied with soot or oil.

I had this thought that besides finding coin or his next meal, Ruggie also often looked for scrap machinery and automatons that may have been thrown out. A part of Ruggie feels sympathy for the automatons that were thrown out entirely just because they happen to have one mistake in them or something.

He often fixes them up by himself and does some pretty amazing work, able to bring a machine back to full function. He often has these automatons work around in his makeshift workshop or he gifts them to any kids or families within the slums to make their lives easier.

Ruggie would never say this aloud but a part of him believes that the automatons he takes care of do indeed have consciousness and actually understand him. But he knows that’s a silly idea. What he doesn’t realize is that with this belief, he is tapping into his unique magic.

Laugh With Me manifests differently in that what should be an unfeeling and mundane automaton will listen to him and act on his command like a living being for a short amount of time before going back to their original state. He has yet to tap into this magic fully yet and will discover it over time.

Ruggie was picked up by Leona one day as Ruggie was bold enough to dare and pickpocket him. Though Leona was quicker, able to swiftly take back what was his. But he saw potential in Ruggie, seeing how quick witted he was and his talent in handling machinery. He always did need a shipwright…

With a promise for wealth and greatness, Leona offered an opportunity to Ruggie to come join him on his airship. It took a little convincing as Ruggie was reluctant to leave his family behind, but with enough convincing from his grandmother and the local kids, he boarded Leona’s ship and somehow naturally became the right-hand man of Leona.

The latest addition to Leona’s crew and a bit of an oddball compared to the grizzled and salty sky dogs. He definitely looks the part with his tall and strong stature, but his sense of duty and honor is quite a rarity among pirates of all people.

To some, this may be seen as a weakness, but to Leona, he values these kinds of qualities and why he wanted Jack on his crew.

Jack originally was a simple working man, hired as extra muscle for various heavy duty jobs like working around construction areas or factories. He worked these odd jobs to help bring food to the table for his family.

Sadly his family has fallen on some hard times as his parents are getting too old for work and his younger siblings are a bit too young to be working. Jack would rather see them get a proper education unlike him who got straight to work after basic schooling.

There was also… Another issue he was dealing with that made his life harder. A curse of lycanthropy, unfortunately given to him by a rogue werewolf that stumbled into the city and attacked him while he was making his way home from a late shift.

Jack hides this secret desperately and cages himself far away from his family every time the full moon rears its face.

It was during one of those nights that Leona and his crew found him. Leona had heard reports of some beast prowling in a city and a large reward was going to be given to anyone who could bring its head in to the city guards.

During that night, Leona witnessed that despite being such a feral beast that was half-man, half-wolf, Jack’s absolute instinct rather to protect than kill astounded the prince. He needed that kind of loyalty on his ship. The fact that he could turn into a powerful werewolf was a bonus.

At first Jack absolutely refused Leona, not wanting to take part in any piracy plus he had his ailment as a lycanthrope. However, Leona didn’t back down, showing that he didn’t care about Jack being a werewolf. He respected the man in the monster and promised that through their journeys, they may find a cure for him. Plus, sending his family money via the treasures didn’t sound like a bad offer either…

Jack gave in eventually, boarding the ship and making a place for himself as their newest member. He definitely has a lot of learning to do, but Jack would find in due time, he’ll fit right in.

Also, appearance wise, Jack would keep it rather simple but god, does he make it work. A loose shirt, tight fitting pants, a wrap and belts around his waist, and some solid boots. Please consider him also having facial and body hair…
