A Surprise Visitor (Closed Rp)
It was an idea Jen had been going back and forth with for a while, trying to figure out how to get it done properly. As happy as she was to train Marvin, the mage needed to get over the fear of a natural part of himself; his dark form. She understood that something happened with it, and he had every right to have his fears after, but it would be very hard to teach him how to control his dark magic if he was uncomfortable with himself the whole time.
So, she devised a plan. Jackie was the one who Marvin was most afraid of hurting, despite Jen knowing they had full control. Which meant that with a little planning, she got the hero to come over and peek in during their training session.
To avoid Marvin spotting Jackie before he was supposed to, Jen invited the hero over a little early. Nothing wrong with a little snack and some catching up, anyway. Ugear would certainly be happy to see him.
It was how Jackie ended up at Jen's front door while she was making tea, knocking with a little smile on his face. He was still in uniform from his patrol this morning, a bit of dried blood around his nostrils with some small and scabbing gashes on his cheek. He had a bit of a fight this morning with a criminal, but he knew it would heal just fine.
Plus, Jen and Ugear lived in what felt like the middle of nowhere, so he was safe to stand around in his work clothes.

A Night To Remember [ x ]

It was seemingly a normal day to Anti, who was just heading down to the kitchen to get himself a snack. He was craving something sweet and Ugear had baked them all cookies recently, so he planned on having one. They were thick and chewy, just the way he loved them. Honestly, it was a miracle they weren't gone already.
The demon wasn't the only one home that day, Marvin and Chase being upstairs as well. What Anti didn't know was that the two of them were having a conversation relating to him, the magician trying to encourage Chase to ask Anti out. It had been a little while that they'd been talking about it and the father finally decided that he wanted to take a step further.
The only issue that remained was talking to Anti about it, which was a little easier said than done.
It was always nerve-wracking to talk about new feelings with someone and Anti was a special case for sure, considering his history and personality. But Marvin was trying to hype their boyfriend up, knowing that it would go okay regardless.
"You got this, babe. He probably knows already because he can sense it, you just need to confirm it for him. It's gonna go just fine," they reassured with a smile, holding Chase's hands.

A Rough Visit (Closed Rp)
It had been a long and busy week for Henrik. In the days that he wasn’t needed at the hospital, he still had paperwork to get done. It felt like an endless supply of work once again, and he really wasn’t trying to throw himself into it this time. He wanted free time, he wanted to get other things done, but he still had work to do.
In his little bit of free time he had today, he tried to do some baking to calm down. Cupcakes were always a favorite in the house, so maybe he could make them and relax as he did. It did work for a little while, that baking being the reason he made it through his shift without screaming, but he was still not happy by the end of it. And on top of it, there was so much do take care of before he could even think of decorating the cakes. He had to clean, to work on dinner, to do his laundry.
But just as he began heading downstairs, he heard a knock at the front door. It made him groan to himself, really not in the mood to talk to anyone right now. Henrik still had to get the door though, so he opened it up. And it was clear as day how tired and stressed he looked. His eyes had bags, his wings were all fluffed up, and he did not look happy to be at the door. Except, he was met with-
“Ugear..?” he said, a little confused. He didn’t seem to notice the disgruntled edge to his tone. “Anti’s not here right now. Were you supposed to visit him today?”

It has been a long weekend.
The frame is from a long ago Ugears Games Kickstarter, the paintings are by me- a fireball with the symbol of Boccob for DnD, a city with the Kindred symbol for Vampire, a clock for Blades, and a d20 because you know how we do. And the middle is a dice tower! I have no good click clack video for you because it's loud as fuck in here
I'm pretty pleased with it! Did I actually make a Blades GM screen to put in it, as was the goal? No I did not.

I spent almost sixty bucks at a local bookstore, but it's worth it! I love the Jane Austen mints and can't wait to put the steampunk clock together. :D I don't know if it's all ugears products, but apparently, the bookstore bought these steampunk clocks and some other items to sell, because they are supporting Ukraine.
I also found an annotated Brothers Grimm at a local Goodwill. I had a good day! :D

It was a long time coming. Finally, Anti and Henrik had decided they were going to hold a little wedding ceremony to honor the human half of the pair. Anti had done his part with the bite mark, and now they were finally going through with the more human tradition of a ceremony. It wouldn't be big, just their little family and close friends, but it was something they were excited about.
Anti was going to go extend the invitation to Ugear and Jen that day but as he was about to leave the house, he noticed Marvin was sitting at a spot at the table with his nose in his notebooks. He had been like that for hours already and the demon figured he could use a break, so he offered to have Marvin join him. The magician eventually caved and tagged along, which was what led to them standing at Jen's door.
"Okay, here we go," Anti murmured, knocking on the door gently. He was admittedly a little nervous, not because he was worried about a reaction but that this was something he never thought he would be doing, and it gave him butterflies.

I'm making a clock and the main mechanism is finished. I haven't run the cords yet. Still need to make the pendulum, counter weights, and decorative weights.
Yes, I've circled back around to steampunk. Sorry in advance.
The kit is from UGears out of Ukraine. It comes in plain raw white wood (plywood) and I hand painted all of it with watercolors to minimize thickness (as recommended by UGears.)
