#uh i also have Thoughts on the role of Knight

Note
I have listened to 74 and Skies Forever Blue.
Personally I... don't think either really has much of a connection to Deltarune? I just think sometimes, authors really like exploring certain themes over and over again. Toby seems to enjoy exploring metafiction in video games, and subversions about 'what the people who fill certain 'classic archetypes' 'classic archetypes' in stories. (And I can't blame him, personally. I keep thinking up and writing stories where the 'chosen one' is subverted somehow.)
Could Dess and Kris end up mirroring the Princess and Knight in 74? It's not impossible. I've actually heard the theory that Kris is opening Dark Worlds to search for Dess in isolation from the song 74 before now. I've also always wondered why the creator of the Dark Worlds is called the Knight, and not the Maker or Author or Dreamer or Dragon or something like that. If the person who happened to be creating Dark Worlds was introducing themself as 'the Knight,' that'd be one thing, but it strikes me as kinda strange that the role itself is called the Knight. Furthermore, as I've also theorized in isolation, if Dess is meant to be an Asriel/Flowey parallel, it's possible that she does want to be rescued deep down, but feels she doesn't deserve it and thus lashes out and shoves people away.
So, analyzing themes Toby has done before and a few things about Deltarune. It's not impossible. But we know so incredibly little about Dess that some of us can't even agree on her species, so this seems to be another thing that seems like a big stretch to theorize about. Even if I, personally, like this kind of character and subversion of a lot more than 'what if Dess was a HOOMAN'
...That sad. I'd actually say that Deltarune already seems to have two characters that fit this particular parallel and subverson. Berdly and Noelle on a Snowgrave work as slightly less of a stretch. But really not much of a 1-1 parallel. XD
Mmhmm!
My first thoughts after listening to 74 and Skies Forever Blue was that both of these protagonists have 'Asriel' Vibes - 74 & Asriel are twists on 'Fairytales' - 74 has a perverted Princess & Asriel is secret 'Frog Prince' - while Skies Forever Blue's Girl has a similar tragedy to Asriel - a videogame NPC who has fallen in love with a careless HeroTM - and turns self-destructive because of said love.
(Both Asriel & the Girl also have a moment where in lue of a missing protagonist, they take control of the videogame world around them, making themselves the Protagonist, if only for a moment.)
...Leads one to think that Toby Fox loves deconstructing childhood fairytales. Applies similarly to Toriel, Undyne, Asgore, and Chara - twists on the Witchy Stepmom, the Hero, the Evil Demon King, and the Player Character.
Kris is a 'Hero' - a Knight in Shining Armor - and the twist is in plain sight - they are a Villain too - the fountain creator - and capable of being pushed to hurt Noelle.
(Not a statement on whether Kris WANTS to be the Villain - I don't think they do - which is probably why they let themselves be possessed)
The Most Obvious 'Princess' is Noelle - she's fits the bill for nice, well-born, and extremely passive - and she reminds me a lot of the Princess from 74 - because underneath the role of Princess she hides a decently complex and powerful person - and her own ability to hurt people.
(Susie rounds out the triad by being a Dragon/Villain with the ability to be a Hero - though I think we're missing a good chunk of her story still for me to comment on this - right now I view her as a Shonen Hero (like Naruto) in denial of her role, who would rather give it up to Kris and Ralsei.)
(Ralsei is purposely making himself a Tutorial Tip Fairy - so there's not much going on there until he breaks and grabs protagonistdom by the reins.)
Pretty much on the nose that Berdly is a corrupted Knight with Noelle as his Princess - though I don't think he'll have a similar 'Role' in the future - I think he'll relax in future chapters - and his relationships with the class / his family explored more.
I like to think he has younger/older siblings, and that's why he's so pressured to stand out.

CELESTE APPRECIATION post
I raerly see anyone mention her but i love her sm yes this is mostly like 98% hc shes only got like 5 lines in hole game what more do u want from me
anyways, my sweet sweet barely domesticated celeste :
-"Why did my husband come back with a child ,a dog ,a living skeleton, a man who can throw him around like he weights nothing and a knight(derogatory)" -Cahara's so wiped 4 her and honesty i would to if that was my wife, she def pegs him 2 btw i mean just look at him, my point exactly.
-gets along with Enki the most 2 everyone's surprise, there paper wight besties. & share a worrie for Cahara they will never verbalise as well a dislike for D'arc- i mean knights.
-celeste is d'arces first (and only) female friend, much to clestes own dismay.
-d'arce thought she was a gold digger at first, as you can tell they had a grate first impression of each other
-only trusts people about as far as she can throw them (rip rag , he can still man handle the group whore with ease tho so good for him)
-can not hold a convo with a child 2 save her life , the length of her mertanl intents extend to bringing the child 2 Cahara .
-she is not mother material but for some reason they're trying to keep a baby with a high infant mortality rate its funny
i think celeste probably didn't have great parents or a good role model, deadbeat drunkard parents that kicked her out and kind of left her to fend for herself & close of to the world and that's why she has such a disillusioned take on parenthood + where her own approach to children comes from but uh oh !! cahara wormed his way into her heart ! and who's to say his clear and utter devotion to this little girl cant win her over either i dont think either her or Cahara were going out of their way to get pregnant - it's like an unfortunate by-product of the nature of Celeste's career, and Cahara's love for her being what led to him being so willing to step up. i don't think either of them ever really thought about having kids, or at least didn't think they'd be good parents, but celeste getting pregnant or cahara bringing back a child is just the way life ended up going. it's the renaissance era, abortion methods are on par with childbirth in terms of deadliness anyway. she's just not going to have to keep risking her life via pregnancy if cahara goes out, gets enough coin to support them both, she's not going to be like every other peasant woman who's forced to become a broodmare because every 1 in 2 children fucking die before they turn 5. clesest being pregnant is just what ended up happening. the love in that is to do with their RELATIONSHIP, not their love for some idealistic family life. i think cahara wanting to give it a try is something celeste would think is really sweet and admirable, but she'd probly keep a lot of her more cynical thoughts to herself on the matter.
saying that i think they both have a lot of cynical thoughts about it really, but i cahara goes so quickly into "this is my wife, this is our future baby" because otherwise what's the point in taking on such a risky mission in the first place ? but if he's got a noble cause, then it might seem worth it, right ? it's that extra push of encouragement for him, even if it comes with a lot of scary things like the responsibility, being a parent, maybe settling down witch is a scary thought for someone whos always so used 2 being on the move
as for celeste ; she doesn't even know if she's going to make it through the pregnancy, or if the baby will. it's just another mouth to feed at the end of the day. she doesn't care about carrying on a legacy, or raising a child into greatness like so many others beg and plead of god to bestow upon their children. she knows she'd be a shit mom and she's hardly a loyal partner at the moment. but she loves cahara, and seeing that fear in his eyes when she told him, but also that spark of light, that little bit of joy, made it at least worth holding on for.
celeste: it's probably not going to make it anyway, i either risk death in childbirth or death in abortion methods, so. celeste: its getting me enough bank rn to keep myself healthy so we'll just see what happens i guess celeste watching cahara bring home an entire child:
okay cringe time over. i wont go into 2much detail about her relationship with the others though i think its a very slow process of her learning to tolerate get along with the creatures friends cahara brought back -as soon as celeste meets d'arce her mild suspicion and distaste for ragnvaldr will be replaced with her disgust for d'arce -think celeste would be pissed she wouldn't be able 2 pull cahara out of ragnvaldrs grip unless she stabbed him or something, witch shes both angry about it but also relieved since it probably kept cahara out of trouble in the dungeon (because lord knows her husband is a magnet for trouble) inside me there are 2 wolfs ; one is mmm hot stong wife carry cahara like a sack of pataos , the other is screaming at me that this is the 1600 and she would be starving and poor. so to compromise with myself im going 2 say : - physical speaking celsest is probly stronger then most women in her profession and could probly drag an unconscious cahara around then againg i also think cahras way ligher then someone of his build&carear should be shes stronger then enki (then againg who isnt) but cant match d'arces physical strength. saying that modern au Celeste would beat d'arce in an arm wrestle.
in-refence 2 my last post; celest is a child darkness, she has a barbie killer husband, there for. she deserves to be as much hater as she likes d'arce: you two are the healthiest couple i know who still have an avid sex life cahara: ASSUMPTIONS ! celeste: we're the only couple you know.
acholic wise i think celeste could out drink d'arce (and at least keep up with ragnvaldr for a little bit)
celeste: d'arce is a pain in the ass cahara: :confustion:  she means well babe cmon celeste: im gonna beat her with a stick cahara: ,, babe,,
cleseste is not payed enough 2 be d'arces therpist or help d'arce figure out she likes women (shes not payed at all actuly, she is simply trying 2 tolrate her husbands new freinds becuse she loves him but also only has so meny braincells she can lose in a day and conversing with d'arce seems 2 kill all of them)
celeste hears d'arce talk about jeanne once and instantly starts going "wow you loved a girl wow that girl who was like you in every way wow that girl who like. shared your morals. or something. wow tell me more about that girl" (stab stab stab metaphorically stab stab stab)
(about cahara getting arrsed and taken by the police) rag: you lack of concern,,, concerns me. are you not worried ? celeste: dogs always find their way back home.
- d'arce and cahara make the same enamoured and light-blush expression whenever celeste rages btw - celeste :handshake: enki taking the piss out of knights + a generally more cynical outlook on life & being cold bitches that secretly care about cahara a lot
(first time they all stayed the night) enki learning hes the favorite for once and he thinks its just the most hilarious thing to fucking happen local woman-lover put out by being rejected by hot scary wife, local berserker intimidated by what scary wife might do if she finds out what he did to her precious boytoy local shadow wizard ? on the floor ugly laughing because scary wife reluctantly asked if he wanted the guest bedroom.
celeste: YOURE NOT STAYING HERE PERMANENTLY. but youre allowed to stay overnight. enki: is this (gags) kindness ? oh my god. revolting. celeste: is that a yes or not you fucking worm enki: yesplease

Fylass Through the Looking Glass - Chapter Four - Windows of Remembrance
The knights were leading the gang towards the exit with ease, although Twilight Knight in particular was feeling pretty happy to see them again; Fylass really acknowledged how much he loved them, but sadly, Twilight’s position as a knight didn’t allow him to go with them, even with Dolly’s peaceful kingdom at hand.
Fylass wanted to have a small talk with them, so they silently told the rest of the group to wait for them outside the castle; they agreed, and left them alone with Twilight.
"Hey… How are you?" Twilight spoke up first.
"I am… alright. How are you, too?" Fylass spoke up next.
"Things around here have been pretty nice ever since you… well… you know. I am sorry for not being able to help you back then. I would’ve been devastated to see your head resting on a bloody basket." Fylass remembered what happened back then the last time at the Card Castle, with their head resting on the guillotine, shrouded with fear and hopelessness; sure, they knew this was a dream they had, but that feeling that they might not wake up was still on their mind.
If they didn’t wake up, what would happen to their friends and family? They would be heartbroken for sure, seeing a Fylass that has stopped breathing, and suddenly having to be buried 6 feet under, and maybe even eventually, forgotten. They felt horrible to let that possibility be true, for they thought they were selfish, for that, for this, and for the things they think they did before.
"It’s o-okay. Don’t worry about me, I am not mad at all…!" Fylass stopped with that train of thought, to make a reply to the one that they considered their older brother back in the real world.
"U-Uh, sorry. I don’t know why I am acting like this. We’ve only talked a few sentences back then, and yet, I feel like we’ve met for a long time. It’s weird, I know…"
Fylass was a bit startled by that, but quickly pondered about it; this Twilight Knight was only an effigy of the one Fylass knows pretty well, and even then, it seemed like it was more than that. Was he something else, or was he only the version Fylass wants Twilight to be? They were taking on that "role" perfectly in Fylass’ eyes, but it seemed like this version was taking on that role in a more literal way.
What could be said about the rest?
"...Oddly enough, I feel the same way." That wasn’t really a lie, they loved TK with no limits after all.
"Guess I am not weird then, haha…" Twilight chuckled. "Ah, thank you. Here, take this." The knight took out some tickets from behind his cape. "These are some tickets to the Memory Lane Cinema! Dolly gave us quite a lot of them, so I have many more to give, so I thought it would be good to give some of them to a wonderful person like you!"
"...Wow. Uh… Thank you." Fylass took the tickets with them; they didn’t really know where to use them, but they were happy with them giving off these gifts. It felt real, and that’s what mattered to the kid.
"Hey, uh, I must leave, sorry. Thank you for the gifts, though! I promise to visit you when this is over, okay?"
"O-Oh! Alrighty! See you, Club- I mean, Fylass!"
That felt good, although they also felt sad to have to be reassured that things are okay. Things are okay, right?
Fylass walked out of the castle to meet up with the rest of the group.
"So… are we going?" Mikuto said to Fylass.
"Yeah, let’s go."
"Well, FINALLY! Let’s better find a way out!" Banshee spoke up next.
"...Wasn’t your plan to be sent here to avoid responsibility, or did I understand it wrong?" Unicorn remarked in a snarky tone.
"Oh, shut it!"
The whole group had figured out at this point that these new members wouldn’t be able to comply, or at least, it was sure that Banshee would. Fylass on the other hand, was wondering what did Unicorn mean by that statement, although they weren’t going to ask that question since they thought it would be rude.
"Wait, what’s that in your hand?" Ades asked with curiosity.
"Oh! Twilight Knight gave me these tickets for the "Memory Lane Cinema". I don’t know where that place is, but either way, that’s surely not important."
"Wait, the Memory Lane Cinema?! That place is amazing! You should visit it one of these days! Besides, I am pretty sure that the place we’re going to is right after it, so, win-win!" Damian spoke.
Fylass was interested in that place, and if what Damian said was true, the kid could take advantage of that. They looked at the rest of their friends, and they noticed that Lucid was pretty interested in that place too. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt too much to do something before sending Lucid to his home, right?
"Maybe we could take a short trip there if that’s the case…" Lucid spoke up.
"Well, if you say so…"
"Ugh, come on. This is just making things slower! We might as well leave you guys so me and Unicorn can find the way out faster!"
"I am sure that won’t work. The last time we were alone in this world you tried to kill one of the inhabitants of this world because you thought they were a beast. These people surely know how to lead us to an exit, so we can’t lose this chance."
"FINE! But right after we find the exit, you won’t see my face around here!"
"Not if we would want to see you around…" Kurabe murmured under her own breath, although it was loud enough that everyone could hear it.
"...Wait, what do you mean, find the exit out of this world? You aren’t from Wonderland?" Fylass questioned.
"Uh, no, we aren’t part of this bizarre land." Banshee answered. Fylass tried to rub it off as they meant that they came from another realm, just like Lucid. Maybe Underland too, perhaps?
"Alright, we’ll try to help you go home too. Promise."
"Thank you. You are pretty noble." Unicorn said.
Fylass felt something; a sense of guilt and regret. They nodded silently, and tried to hide that feeling towards the rest.
"...Are you feeling okay?" Lucid said.
"Yeah, don’t worry. I am fine… Let’s just get going, okay?"
The group started to walk towards their location, and they ended up having to cross the circus again to get there. The place was just as before, which wouldn’t be surprising on its own, but Fylass had to be wary; even though the place was calm and happy, in Wonderland, everything could happen.
"Heeeeeeeeyyyy!" A voice was heard in the distance, putting some of the cast on edge. They looked behind, and they saw an individual that seemed like Dark Matter, wearing a nutcracker outfit.
"Oh! Erebus!" Damian spoke up first; Fylass remembered seeing her when hanging out with Damian one of those days; she was quite interesting for sure, a bit scary and somewhat manic, yes, but she didn’t try to kill Fylass or any of their friends, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Guess that Fylass placed her on their head too.
"Why, it isn’t the funny bookworm, Damian!" She snickered as she pulled out a whip just for fun. "Whaddya doin’ around here?"
"Oh! Just trying to help some friends out. We’re trying to get to Underland for a fella right here!"
"Pfft. That sounds cool, shame that I can’t accompany you since I have to be working to pay in terms of work because apparently "murder isn’t fun". It’s a miracle that I am not in the dungeon!"
"If you keep doing it, I’ll make sure that you will." Ades said with a threatening voice.
"Oh, woe is me!~ I am soooooo scared!~" She didn’t seem to care that she was talking like that towards three of the four Suit Bearers in the same place; she really was the same as how Fylass remembered her.
Ades sighed. "Let’s just go to the Memory Lane Cinema." Some of the members of the group were moving forward, although some decided to stop.
"Er, well, excuse me but I think I will stop here!" Selene said with glee. "I am not really that interested in this journey, and considering that the circus reopened, I just want to have some fun with Wisp and the rest of the cats!"
"Oh, sure! No problem. Although, where are they?" Everyone looked in the distance, only to see Wisp trying to chase down Casey and Artemeta, who were terrorizing the visitors thanks to Artemeta’s new appearance.
"...Yeeeeeeah, I better get going. See ya, heehee!" Selene left the group, although no one was sure that she was going to stop them, or join them in mischief.
"Gee, great. Let’s just go." Banshee was losing patience about this, but Fylass tried to walk as fast as possible to their destination, and Lucid was about to smack him down, but only stopped to avoid more discussion; the least he could want at this point was to cause more ruckus, specially with Chaos’ recent attitude; it was strange, as if he remembered something he shouldn’t.
Soon enough, they reached Ades’ domains, which seemed much prettier than before, with the smell of flowers around the area, and a tune resembling jazz echoing through; even though it was pretty, both Ades and Fylass felt a sense of melancholy by only looking at the outside, and both didn’t seem to understand the reason of such, and only being able to keep going to their destination.
"Soooooooo, where do you guys live?" Mikuto asked both Unicorn and Banshee.
"Oh, us? We live in the Saddrac World, although SOMEONE thought that it was a good idea to send us to a random place just to avoid doing their job, and now we are here."
"Well, excuuuuuuuse me for trying to find a way to stop defeating enemies day by day! Things get tiring, you know?!"
"That isn’t an excuse!"
"...Alllriiiiiiiiighty." Mikuto said, trying to end the conversation."
More and more steps were taken further into the land, until all of them noticed something was off; there was a new path that Fylass knew wasn't there before.
"This path should be it, for sure…"
The way was seemingly quiet, with the music gone, and only the sound of birds chirping was being heard; the surroundings wouldn’t be ones of dread, but rather, ones of a warning, and Fylass had the idea that something was, indeed, wrong.
"...Are you okay, kid?" Lucid asked.
"Oh, I am just… thinking."
"If you need help with something, you can ask us, okay? Just saying."
"...Alright."
It was a surprise seeing that the path of dirt leading our group to their destination was slowly starting to resemble a red carpet, and golden fences started to appear in place, and that’s where they saw it; a black building resembling of a cinema and a skyscraper, with the words "Memory Lane Cinema" embedded on that same carpet; its doors were huge, reaching an entire story when looking correctly.
"...Wow…"
"Weeeelcome!" Another voice had spoken, right next to the entrance, and as Fylass approached it, they could see some of their characteristics; a small dragon of blue ice colors, dark blue spikes and kind, black eyes; this description alone could make it seem like a terrifying foe, but he actually looked pretty friendly, although Lucid seem pretty nervous by his mere presence.
"Oh, hi there…!" Fylass said to them. They realized this person was wearing a suit that resembled one of a rich man, and also resembled a uniform for people working in movie theaters.
"Welcome to the Memory Lane Cinema! Can I have your tickets, please?" Fylass remembered the tickets they had in hand, and showed them off to the mister.
"Great! So, all of you can enter. Let me be your guide! My name is Klax, nice to meet you!"
"...N-Nice to meet you too…" Lucid said, stuttering.
The cast decided to enter the movie theater, with Klax as their guide.
The inside was nothing ordinary in the slightest; it practically resembled a mansion, more than an actual movie theater, with lots of hallways on the sides, with the same red carpet on the floor; walls made from a checkerboard pattern of blue and cyan, and movie posters resembling actual curtains; the posters seemed to be slight alters of ones that Fylass had seen in the real world, some were funny looking, others were slightly disturbing.
"Here, we have an insight on all of the movies you are able to watch endlessly, since they never leave your side! Right there, there’s a counter where you can order popcorn and drinks, from tea, to many more!" Klax remarked, as Chaos, Lucid, Kurabe and Fettuccine felt shivers down their spines; they didn’t want to hear anything related to tea.
"...Well… thinking about my last statement…" Banshee spoke up.
"No. We are not staying here for you to watch some movies. I thought that your main goal was to get out, was it?"
"Oh, come on! Let me have some fun!"
"You’ll have your "fun" when we find out our way out."
"...Fiiiiiiine."
Fylass was even more interested in taking a peek at these films, but that interest peaked when they heard Klax’s new statement.
"Also, down that hallway, is the Memory Lane! A set of rooms where you can watch your closest memories in moving pictures! Those happy memories can be watched again, as long as you enter these rooms! Right there, you can find the exit taking the form of the backdoor!"
"...What?! That’s possible?! Well, excuse me, I am leaving to see my movie!" Banshee said as he sprinted towards the hallway to find his room, as Unicorn grumbled, sighed, and went towards him in silence.
"...Would that be true? In that case… I think we can take a little break from going to Underland. I need to see something first." Lucid said.
Fylass nodded in response, as he left. Quickly, the rest of the group left out of curiosity to see their memory rooms; Chaos seemed the most interested though. When Fylass was left alone, they did the same; maybe it was a good idea to take a break, and look at their memory lane. The kid went to the counter, got some popcorn for free, surprisingly, and went towards the same hallway.
Fylass quickly realized this hallway was segmented into many more hallways that seemed to be organized from A-Z, so they figured out that their memory lane would be on F. The kid quickly found it, although, before entering, they were curious about the others’ memory lanes. Klax didn’t state that you weren’t allowed to see memory rooms that aren’t yours, right?
They went towards their hallway to find Fettuccine’s memory room, and they opened the door slightly to see what was inside; the room resembled one of a cinema from the 80’s, and the film was a moment where Fetty was proposed marriage by Meta. Fettuccine was there, silently sobbing tears of joy; she was happy, and so, Fylass was happy.
Afterwards, Fylass went towards Banshee’s memory room; this time, the film was playing a scenario where Banshee was exploring a labyrinth with Unicorn and some other people Fylass didn’t seem to know; Banshee seemed happy, and so, Fylass was happy.
Next, it came to Chaos' room. This time, the film was off, and foggy, only projecting one single image; it was a man, dressed in dark gray clothing, with a golden orb on his chest; the mouth seemingly was moving, but there were no words coming out from it. Chaos was confused, and so, Fylass was too.
Trying to ignore what they just saw, went towards Lucid’s room. The film seemed much older, and it also projected one image; it was Lucid, or well, Shard, making a hat, and next to him, was someone that Fylass didn’t seem to recognize, due to having their face scratched out. Lucid was sad though, and so, Fylass was sad.
Many more rooms came into place, but after a while, Fylass saw most of them, leaving their own room. Fylass entered in it, and sat down in a seat seemingly made for them.
This film seemed much newer than the rest, and it was a collection of snippets of memories that Fylass had with their friends and family. That time when Archie got them their purple PJ’s, that time when Selene, Dolly, TK and Ades got them a plushie, or that time when Dero and them did a friendly fight with Verin, Ava and Damian cheering them on in the background. Fylass was happy.
They were about to leave the room to reunite with the rest, but before they opened the door, a clicking sound was heard from inside the TV film, and they realized the movie had changed.
Fylass was having a different outfit, the one they had when being with their father, Cosmounse, but was covered in blackened blood; they were having a cleaver on hand, and they used it to swing it towards Cosmounse’s face, as Fylass laughed and mocked him, as they said "THAT’S WHAT YOU GET." over and over; the room on the film was starting to be filled with that same blackened blood, and after a deafening scream, the movie ended.
"..." Fylass was tearing up. "Why…? Why am I getting reminded of that, even after all of that time? Why?" Fylass was sobbing, but they quickly hid those tears as they left the room.
Walking down the hallway, they saw the group again, seemingly walking with curiosity.
"Oh! Kid, we’ve been looking for you. Are you alright?" Lucid said again.
"Y-Yeah, I am! Are you okay?"
"Indeed, I am too. Let’s just leave and find that cabin." Fylass nodded as they heard that, and left towards the backdoor exit, although they saw someone else walking down the hallway, Dero.
"Oh, greetings. I should have expected to see you here." He spoke up to the group.
"Hi…" Said Lucid with a death stare looking at Dero. "What are you doing here?"
"Revisiting some memories, although I am about to leave and go towards the Card Castle."
"Alright then! G-Good luck with that!" Fylass said, trying to hide the fact that they were somewhat hurt by what they saw. Dero was about to leave, although he stopped and looked back.
"Pleiades, can I ask you a favor?"
"Hm?"
"Could you go with me towards the Card Castle? As the Diamond, I need to discuss some… matters with you."
"Oh. Sure, although, it better be quick…"
"Wonderful. Fylass, could you go with me as well, when you are done with your journey? You are the Club, and I need your help as well discussing these topics."
"...No problem. I can do that."
"Thank you. Now, Ades, let’s go." Dero said, as Ades left with Dero towards their new destination, and the rest went towards the backdoor exit.
It was pretty, with trees around and around, gray flowers, and a big space that seemed that it could fit a house in that. Fylass used the clock to turn it to 11:59 again, and sure enough, the supposed cabin appeared out of thin air. A gray cabin with rotting wood.
"...This is it, perhaps?"
"We need to figure it out."
Lucid opened the door, revealing a dusty inside, with no furniture, but a table with a chessboard on top, sliced in half, and one of the halves missing was replaced by a checkerboard; both were seemingly stuck together with glue, and at one of the lateral sides leaving the same distance between both sides of the board, was a minute hand from a clock pierced through it; all of the pieces of both sides were there, but the bishop on the chess board was missing.
The interesting part of the inside though, was a giant silver framed mirror that has a sign on top with the words "Looking Glass".
"...Why do I feel attracted to that mirror?" Chaos said.
"Like, in love, or something?" Fetty said, trying to joke with the situation, although she knew exactly what he was referring to. Fylass went closer to the mirror and touched it, revealing that it was crossable like water.
"What the-..."
"Wait, let me try this!" Banshee said, trying to cross the mirror, only to find out that he wasn’t able to. "Oh, come on!"
Chaos was the next to try, and surprisingly, he was able to cross the mirror too.  "Guess that only Suit Bearers can cross it. Oh well…"
"...This must be the entrance to Underland… Are you ready Lucid? Grab my hand guys, so we can all cross this mirror together." Everyone nodded, and grabbed Fylass hand, and step by step, everyone crossed the mirror.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"My Queen, I have news to tell you."
"Hm? What is it?"
"...The Bishop is back."
"...What?"
"The plan needs to start. Now."
"...Are you sure this can help me get both thrones?"
"Yes, I am sure, Queen Majaway."
"...Okay, I trust you…"
"Mister Cosmounse."

White Brim - Battle Royal: Chapter 1
Location: Villa Characters: Touri, Tsukasa, Eichi & Hiyori Season: Winter Writer: Akira
Tumblr media
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ< End of February. At a certain villa owned by the Tenshouin family. >
Tumblr media
Touri: Anzu~! Why are you stuck to the corner of the room like that?
If you’re confused about social etiquette, I don’t mind teaching you everything you need to know. Ehehe, it’s repayment for always looking after me ♪
Tsukasa: Anzu Onee-sama! You look pale. Perhaps it’s because you’re hungry as you haven’t eaten anything?
There’s no need to worry. I shall bring a basket of snacks for you! I’m doing this specially for you, Onee-sama – I wouldn’t usually do this sort of thing normally ♪
Touri: Grrr…
Tsukasa: Hmm?
Touri: Oh, look who it is~ Tsukasa’s here. So you came too, huh? Your whole presence is so unsightly that I thought it was some random person who had wandered in!
Tsukasa: What was that? Oh, isn’t that Touri-kun? My apologies, you’re so small you could barely fit in my field of vision – I couldn’t tell who you were!
Touri: You’re just someone poor whose only pride is your lineage…!
Tsukasa: You’re just a bean painted in gold…!
Hiyori: Alright now, you two! Could you both stop with the unfriendly atmosphere at such a lovely place? What foul weather!
Tsukasa: Huh? Uh, okay…?
Touri: Hiyori-sama! You decided to attend this time? That’s rare!
Hiyori: Indeed ♪ If anything, it’s only appropriate as the carefree second son of my family to indulge myself in parties and other pleasures, no?
I’d feel bad if I were to get in my older brother’s way, so I’d usually just decline and stay home, though.
He’s flooded with work this year and it’s uncertain whether or not he’d be able to attend.
Besides, this is a party to celebrate the establishment of ES – a large undertaking from the Tenshouin family – and the huge success of the largest event there, “SS”.
I was also the “general leader” of the “White Team” more or less, so of course I had to attend. After all, I’m sure the public sees me as one of the many players who played a large role in the competition.
Naturally, that goes for all of you as well. They’re all itching to hear about our stories of ES and “SS”.
In the financial world, ES has grown into a large entity that the world can no longer ignore.
Tsukasa: “SS”...
Touri: …………
Hiyori: Hm? It was a shame that Touri-kun didn’t feel well during the “SS” main battle, but putting that aside, why do you look so down, Tsukasa-kun?
I think “Knights” earned themselves a rather favourable position in the main battle, though?
Tsukasa: Thank you… It’s an honour, Hiyori-sama.
It’s true “Knights” performed in quite a magnificent manner.
We shared that day’s stage with “Trickstar”, who we had spent a long time practising with, so it’s all thanks to them that we were perfectly in-sync…
I’m proud of us for being able to perform and show the world that “Knights” exists.
However, the fact that we lost completely to “Crazy:B” during the qualifying round has left me feeling quite ashamed…
It’s difficult for me to let go of those feelings and be overjoyed that everything ended well.
Hiyori: Hehe. There couldn’t have been a unit that didn’t struggle from beginning to end.
“Eden” isn’t an exception, either. Things ended up being forcibly left unsettled and the “White Team” was experiencing defeat after defeat…
It felt as though our dignity as the ones who acted like the overwhelming champions was wounded.
As if they were thinking we were all bark and no bite.
Tsukasa: I don’t think that’s true.
Touri: Yeah. In our eyes, “Eden” has always been a unit that’s shining brightly in a faraway place – a unit that we’re no match for.
Tsukasa: That’s right. But to be honest, I was busy worrying about ourselves during “SS”, so…
I didn’t have the time to care about the other units or the public’s reaction.
Despite that, I was bombarded left and right with work, so I didn’t have any time to organise my thoughts, either. And while I was forcibly returned to my busy work…
It felt as if “SS” and everything that happened dissipated like a dream.
Touri: I know what you mean~ It felt like we were inside a dream the entire time, huh.
Hiyori: Ahaha. If anything, we should be getting our heads out of “SS” as quickly as we can in order to return to our daily lives. “SS” was an ephemeral dream – a slice out of the ordinary.
If we continued to be prisoner to that, then it would hinder our everyday life.
And this is also a party to forget all those things. We’ll blow away our fatigue by enjoying ourselves and indulging in some delicious food.
It’s all to provide the strength that will allow us to continue doing our best as idols in the future.
And in your case, Anzu-chan, as a “producer”. That’s probably why you’ve been invited despite not being nobility, no? Just a guess, though.
Eichi: You’re right.
Hehe. You’re always the one who understands me most, Hiyori-kun.
Hiyori: Oh, you’re here, Eichi-kun? I didn’t see you around, so I thought you had died in a ditch somewhere.
Eichi: …You always say those sorts of things with a smile on your face, but do you truly wish me dead?
Hiyori: Hm? Why, that would make me a very thick-skinned person indeed – I couldn’t care less whether you’re dead or alive!
Touri: …Huh? What’s wrong, Anzu? Why are you laughing?
What? Me, Tsukasa, Eichi-sama and Hiyori-sama all give off similar vibes? What do you mean?
I don’t really understand but I’m glad you’re laughing, Anzu~ I was worried since you looked so “dispirited”.
Hm? That’s your line, you say?
Hmm… I’d like to be able to smile and laugh innocently like I always have.
But that’s still hard for me to do right now.

i simply think it is so fun to imagine a world where a company makes a bunch of androids to assist people and provide companionship so they give the androids stories and release them in certain themes or lines and those androids are the genshin characters. credit to @yandere-daydreams for the idea. i love it so much. yes we all want x character to be our boyfriend or girlfriend and we have sex with them yes but i think its fun to imagine their roles when theyre not being yandere...
also the read more is very long i just went off about my ideas for most of the mondstadt characters. nothing wrong with me
if this is set in teyvats world imagine amber being like a gliding instructor in mondstadt. good engineer too, maybe the first bot that can fix other bots/have intricate knowledge of them (because she made baron bunny).
for human injuries theres barbara and jean, but with different temperaments for different patients. or if we're still set in teyvat, then jean (and the rest of the favonius knights characters) are actually android assistants to the actual human knights. basically the androids replace vision holders??
but yeah kaeya would also be a knight assistant, noelles story is she trains super hard but still isnt a knight (because shes made to help actual trainees!). lisa of course manages the library. yeah sorry thats it. makes tea
and i had the idea (this is all stolen from my own twitter thread from *checks* last year? anyway) that they would tease the release of bots like diluc, rosaria and razor through voicelines from kaeya, barbara and lisa. really like the idea of razor originally being some sort of surveillance android for wolvendom/integrating with them in some way for research and sort of became a guide for people who get lost in wolvendom.
diona and diluc are two different types of bartenders, one is good against people who cant say no to a cute (angry) kitty and the others... are those require some intimidation.
VENTI. god, i think itd be cool if they had prototype models for the seven archons and actual venti bots now definitely play into the "broke bard who plays for alcohol" thing. but of course anyone with eyes knows that his original model was the barbatos android.
oh!! and bennett and fischl being adventurers buddies. bennett is "unlucky" but hes actually like, wired to be hypervigilant and take hits for you while he shrugs it off. and fischl comes with oz if you need some chuuni speech translated, but you can disable that if you want to go full rp with her.
*looks at my thread* oh yeah "Albedo is made for the alchemists in the Knights, and he was meant to be released with Klee, but there was a delay because his ai kept experimenting on its own copies (Flowerfell Albedo?)" ngl i didnt play the albedo event and never bothered to watch a video so i dont know the full extent of his lore here. oh right and i added "sucrose is made to keep an eye on him in the labs" lmao
klee is. i suppose made for the knights. a cute energetic girl to keep morale up, whos fireproof and thus able to scout dangerous areas/bomb them if you so wish.
oh yeah i wrote that the church was not happy about the rosaria bots being made so they relegated her to guarding dragonspine against foolish adventurers. as to why she keeps appearing in bars, well, uh. No comment — Celestia Inc.
the lawrence clan wanted in on this business and sponsored a representative of their family, but mondstadts opinion of them is less than friendly, so the knights compromise and make eula, a lawrence knight.
whew okay for some reason i was able to churn out a lot for mondstadt and then everyone else i was like uh yeah. they exist and do things similar to what they do in game like xiangling being a cook's aide. yep. idk why the mondstadt worldbuilding gripped me so hard like that.
also my last thought is that maybe the hilichurls are just the verryyy alpha version of their bots, the khaenri'ah line (i think daydream mentioned this) and maybe just broke down and went rogue/abandoned. so now they make better bots to fight them and keep people safe. go figure. earns them a ton of cash though. lol imagine if getting them was a lottery too....

Marshal Ney in Galicia
In 1902, an author named comte de la Bédoyère (I do not know if and how related to the la Bédoyère executed in 1815) wrote a book about Marshal Michel Ney, mostly about his trial and execution. But the appendix also contains several other documents, among them excerpts from the memoirs of a certain general Béchet, Ney's aide-de-camp. The part I translated is about the first months of 1809, Ney's time in Galicia, after Napoleon in January 1809 had quit Spain for France and had left the task of conquering Portugal to his subordinates.
Marshal Soult was put in charge of this operation, in which he was to be assisted by Marshal Ney. The Marshal had sent me to Marshal Soult to discuss with him the positions which the troops of our corps would occupy as his troops moved towards Portugal. I found him near the place of Ferrol, which had not yet been surrendered (it was surrendered the next day). He didn't receive me too well, not because he resented me or even knew me, but because he wasn't on very good terms with my patron. I thought I would starve to death in that unfortunate town of Ferrol, where I had great difficulty in getting a bite to eat, as Marshal Soult had not invited me to dine with his officers.
Bad Soult! Don't kill the messenger (or in this case, don't let him starve) just because it's a messenger from Ney...
I'm unsure what the two marshals had agreed upon with regards to the placement of Ney's troops, who, as Béchet says himself, had the task to support and thus to stay in contact with Soult's corps in Portugal. However, given the two marshals were "not on very good terms" with each other, Ney probably followed a primal instinct and tried to get as much distance between himself and Soult as possible, in going north to La Coruna, while Soult went south into Portugal. Communications soon were interrupted not only with Soult's expedition corps but also with Madrid. But it seems Ney & C. did not mind too much:
Our stay in this town was not without its pleasures. Sometimes we played whist at the marshal's house at one napoleon a card. One evening I lost twenty cards, I didn't have such a large sum with me and I asked the Marshal to give me credit; he sometimes demanded them back from me in jest, I replied in the same tone, and I ended up not paying him. The Marshal, who had only rare relations with King Joseph because the roads were interrupted by the guerillas, was regarded by the Spaniards as the viceroy of the province and had all the powers.
To which I have two remarks: 1) Some people were accused of wanting to make themselves king whenever they found themselves in a similar position. Just saying. And 2) Ney and his aides were not alone in regarding the interruption of communication by guerillas as a given, and to pay little attention to it. Joseph and Jourdan in Madrid, too, waited for an explicit order from an exasperated Napoleon before sending Kellermann to reopen communications with Ney in Galicia (with Soult in Portugal there was no contact at all).
And now comes a rather ... interesting story about what "viceroy" Ney was up to in this new domain of his:
He had the idea of visiting all the women's convents, and there were many, and of telling the nuns and novices that all those who had entered them against their will could leave if they wished. It was playing the role of the tempter, but such was the spirit of the time, and we thought we were doing a meritorious work by acting in this way.
I'm sure you did, you little prick...
In a convent where the nuns had the reputation of being very fanatical, a young novice, with a charming face, threw herself crying at the feet of the Marshal and addressed him in Spanish in a speech that we still only barely understood. Our hearts went out to her, and already more than one gallant knight was offering her his services, ...
Uh-huh...
... but our interpreter told us that, on the contrary, she announced to the Marshal that the Virgin had appeared to her that night, and warned her that that very day she would obtain the dispensation of age necessary to make her vows, and that she had no doubt that the Marshal was the envoy from heaven who had come to grant her the grace she was seeking. The Marshal replied that it did not depend on him, but that he would write to the court. So much for our tender feelings. In fact, I seem to recall that only one of these ladies took advantage of the freedom offered to her; she left the convent to marry an officer who took her back to France with him.
Must have been quite a blow to the self-esteem of all those "gallant knights" trying to free poor enslaved women, for utterly unselfish reasons, of course.

1. Three ships you like:
about to self-report on my taste so hard rn
Idira Tlass / Jae Heydari (Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader) - OKAY LOOK. I know people are here because I write that Yrliet fic but listen up. At first I thought of them as perfect besties, which is ALSO a great flavour, but then I began rotating Idira in my mind on full blast like a 900W microwave and I went CRAZY. Like, just, okay, let me try to summarize my thoughts... so Idira, she's brash, she's loud-mouthed, she's talented as FUCK and despite being an unsanctioned psyker has beaten all the millions of odds stacked against her, but pretty soon after meeting her, you can brush past her tough facade and realise she's just aching for someone she can Be Real with. You go deeper and you realise she was raised to be a weapon for warlords to use but then one day a knight in shining armour named Theodora von Valancius busted her out, swept her off her feet and spirited her away into the stars. She wants that back, in the end: someone she can lean on, hug her when shit is rough, stay with her until the inevitability of her gruelling end at the hands of the warp. AND THEN ENTER JAE HEYDARI, a supposed 'princess' of a faraway kingdom who seemingly wants a handsome (and very rich) prince to save her, but pretty quickly you can see past the act and know that Jae is a total freebird who knows that the only person she can count on is herself. But even so, she's fiercely loyal and would happily march into a cold death if that meant saving those she cared for (as many unfortunately found out because of Jae's Act 4 quest bugging). So it's Idira, the 'witch-diviner of fates' with seemingly unbreakable will, a valiant 'dark knight'-type figure holding back horrors unseen all while quietly yearning to be saved, + Jae, the 'runaway princess of Efreet' with unyielding charm and luxurious airs, a beautiful 'blooming rose waiting to be plucked'-type of girl that under the surface is chasing after her destiny all on her own two feet, because who the hell needs a Prince Charming when your name is Jae fucking Heydari? LISTEN. LISTEN OKAY THE ROLE REVERSAL. THE UNEXPECTED INTERTWINING OF THEIR FATES IN OPPOSITE SIDES OF A DANCE. GUYS DO YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYI
Trahearne / Pact Commander (Guild Wars 2) - Most people haven't played GW2 at all. But a lot of people have played FFXIV. So imagine a Haurchefant-type figure that, if you choose to start as a Sylvari, has been with you having your back the whole tile, sets up the whole We Gonna Save The World organization and trusts in you to be one of his top commanders, takes the lead but in truth is always looking upon you to be his sunlight and shining spear, you are the only one that sees through the brave face he has put up this whole time for the sake of fighting the good fight, you are the one he trusts with who he is, and then the first expansion of the game comes out and he FUCKIGNGEWOI HOGESWHIIO EGIJJiaewhioewh JHAHAhsahifEGHIWHW EIEWGi NOOoOoOO anyway you should play critically acclaimed MMO Guild Wars 2 it's got a free trial all the way up to the first expansion Heart of Thorns, is a 'buy once play forever' type of MMO so you don't have to pay a sub, and is constantly updating with new story PLEASE PLAY IT WITH ME PLEASE
Zheng Chenggong / Zhou Yu (Fate/Samurai Remnant) - Yes, that Ming loyalist guy who exorcised the Dutch from Taiwan + that Romance of the Three Kingdoms twink who dabbed on Cao Cao. I have no excuse for this one. They got that twin souls separated over 1300 years shit with a heavy heaping of 'time is a flat circle and nothing we ever do will matter in the end' on top of it. Zheng Chenggong is also, uh... it gets worse the more I talk about it so I'll just stop here. If you know you know.
2. First ship ever: ...probably N Harmonia / the Pokemon B/W player character. What was it? FerrisWheelShipping??????? I was like 12 years old okay you gotta leave me alone
3. Last song you heard: Persephone in the Garden - Aidoneus. I've had it on loop while writing. It, uh... it's a mood.
4. Favorite Childhood Book: My dad made me read The Little Prince when I was a kid and I regarded it with the blind childlike wonder an idiot 7 year old would, without understanding all the underlying whispers of tragedy. I reread it along with footnotes detailing the author's shit life and the backdrop of the Vichy Regime and I was like. What the fuck father why did you give this to me
5. Currently Reading: The Sea of Fertility tetralogy. Again. Yukio Mishima's ghost constantly possesses me and forces me to reread his 800 page long suicide note
6. Currently Watching: DUNGEON MESHI! OooOooH DUNGEON MESHI (narrator voice)
7. Currently Craving: Sleep. Good fucking night
simply do this if you wish, tag games are simply a tumblr dot com psy-op to make you anxious about bothering people

Thoughts on the Eastern church?
Well...
thanks to a certain paralogue, we know what some people of the Alliance think mercenaries are used for :
Tumblr media
Lorenz here is describing the job Knights should have (at least the knights from Faerghus and the Church do), but says mercenaries were hired for that job.
So, in the Alliance, at least for Nopes, it's perfectly acceptable for a noble to rely on hired swords, aka people who are in for the money, than to rely on a permanent force of knights.
And it's the same thing with the Eastern Church, they have no knights - and pride themselves on not having any permanent "military" force - and rely on a local noble (Nilsson? I forgot)'s troops to protect them when things are going wrong...
Except when that local nobles doesn't send them his knights, so they have to cry at the Central Church to please send the Knights of Seiros to help them protect their cities/people.
Bar their hypocrisy, there is also the... lack of presence in everyday/general Alliance/Federation life, like, in Nopes, apparently, no one in the Federation gives a fuck that their King wants to slaughter the Archbishop for "reasons" and no one seems to have any attachment to the Central Church or the Church in general, FE16 Lorenz reminds Billy that in the Alliance, Nobles only pay lip service to the Church.
So... what is their role? They're not spreading the faith or even making sure the randoms who parrot it get the right "version" of said faith, they do not protect their people/the faithful, and no one apparently gives a fuck about the Church of Seiros in the Alliance (if siding with the Empire and killing its Archbishop is any indication)...
At least they didn't try to kill the Archbishop and aren't as xenophobic as the Western Church members, so they won on that level.
Bar that, they're a pretty much souless organisation - even with Fodlan's standards that doesn't bother giving a fig about its own worldbuilding or lore/world elements : but I think we get a pretty picture in GW, when apparently the Bishop of the Eastern Church wanted to, uh, celebrate Clout's coronation to "ease the people" - who are later revealed not to give a fuck about the CoS - so what was even the point?
Is he representing his entire Church Branch, doing something useless, rather, pretending to have some importance when he has none? And banking on said "pretend importance" to have a sway on the new leader of the country? IDK.
The Eastern Church doesn't have anything meaningful to write about - bar, again, their hypocrisy - but imo, and maybe it's more hc than canon at that point, the Eastern Church is a church branch that forgot why it exists or what is its purpose (spread the faith or at least make sure it's not deliberatly misinterpreted/used by people who dgaf about it, provide relief/support/help to people, etc).

I am doing very minor revisions of Daemon’s Handbook (mostly formatting and continuity errors), and I wanted to do some behind-the-scenes commentary before too much time passes and I forget my original thoughts. Here’s Chapter 8!
(Note that these commentaries aren’t canon to the verse until/unless the author writes them into the series. I might change my mind on a few points later, but these are the thoughts I had while writing.)
Rhaenys thinks Corlys was ignoring her letters in the Stepstones, but he was also really busy making sure Aegon and Aemond, who are teenaged boys prone to doing stupid things, didn’t accidentally kill themselves trying to nose-dive some pirates.
Luce’s status as heir to Driftmark is nebulous at first. When Laenor was alive, a) Laenor was heir and b) Corlys thought Laenor and Rhaenyra might still have a son. Now that Laenor is dead, by Andal tradition, Luce would be heir as eldest daughter (after Jace who’s slated for the throne). But one could argue that House Velaryon is Valyrian so it doesn’t need to follow Andal tradition.
Some might argue it’s better for Driftmark to stay in the male line to ensure the Velaryon name continues (which is something show!Corlys is big on), or Luce could be named heir but she has to marry within House Velaryon so she and her heirs keep the name. In this fic, Corlys affirms Luce as his heir, and not even Vaemond can complain too much about it because “daughters before uncles” is the norm for everything but the Iron Throne.
I have a thought that whomever Luce marries, Corlys might require that her eldest son/heir takes the Velaryon name (maybe all the children, who knows). So, uh, probably best if her husband is a second son/not the heir to his own lands 👁️👄🔹
*insert joke about Jace and Luce being the breadwinners while Aegon and Aemond are trophy husbands*
The more I read about medieval/Tudor history, the more intrigued I am by ladies-in-waiting. GRRM doesn’t flesh them out super well in his universe, and the show doesn’t have an infinite budget to go into the royal women’s relationships with LIW, but that’s what fanfic is for. I’ll go into more detail about it in one of the sequel fics. Jace is going to have an interesting bunch of LIW.
Rhaena and Helaena are taking notes about Luce’s suitors, but the notes are for themselves. As Rhaena discusses in Chapter 10, she and Helaena have unusual requirements for their potential husbands, and Luce is helpfully attracting a very large pool of eligible (and not so eligible) men.
I mentioned in a past commentary that Alicent likes Jace because Jace is proper and a good influence on Aegon. Alicent *does not* like Luce, whom Alicent perceives as being the opposite of Jace. (Alicent is lucky Baela isn’t interested in her children. Also when Joff gets older…😅)
I drop hints that Aegon drinks a lot less in canon. Part of it is Jace’s good influence, and part of it is that being in the Stepstones made him realize it’s really dangerous being drunk. (See: Chapter 7’s story about his hair catching fire.) He does get drunk during the wedding feast, because it’s his wedding and he deserves a treat.
In the show, all of Borros’s daughters look like adults, but in the book, Floris is 11 when the Dance starts (and Ellyn might be around that age). It makes sense that Floris and Ellyn are so young, otherwise I’m wondering why Borros has four unbetrothed adult daughters when Aemond comes knocking.
In this fic, I decided Cassandra is 16 (same as Aemond and Jace), Maris is 14, and the other two still younger. As the eldest, Cassandra is throwing her hat in the “Aemond’s potential wife” ring, and she has reasons to think she has a good chance. Baratheons have Valyrian blood and their ancestors have intermarried with Targaryens before. She’s also the heir to Storm’s End if her father remains son-less. (Unfortunately for her, Aemond is interested in a different heiress 🤭)
Baela being a mystery knight and attracting Cregan’s attention is a role reversal of the ASOIAF Harrenhal tourney with Lyanna and Rhaegar. I was originally going to have Daeron also join the lists, but I realized that was redundant with Baela in the picture, and he’s too small to pass for an adult male. So Baela got her moment to shine!
Why does Baela challenge those three Northmen? What do they have in common besides being Northern houses? I guess we’ll have to see in the Joff-centric sequel 👀 (Or you could dig deep into the ASOIAF wiki and try to find the answer.)
I decided to give House Velaryon a Valyrian sword since they *are* a Valyrian house. Corlys says Aegon and Aemond helped get the sword from Racallio Ryndoon after hosting a beach party. Racallio has many wives and he sometimes sends them to other men who seem like, uh, good sperm donors. I’m imagining that he might have made a similar offer to Aegon or Aemond or both. 👀 (In this fic verse, the boys would turn it down but the whole scenario would be hilarious, I think.)
I regretted making Daemon an idiot about fashion because it meant I couldn’t go into *too* much detail about Jace’s wedding dress. (But I have other fics in the works where I *can* go into detail!) Notice that Jace has a penchant for gold clothing and jewelry…because Sunfyre. ☀️
Is the story about baby Jace and Aegon a metaphor for how he supports her claim to the throne? Yes. Yes it is.
Jace’s Princess Diana moment is a big part of her Good PR Masterplan. She’s gonna make the smallfolk love her if it’s the last thing she does.
The little exchange between Daemon, Rhaenys, and Viserys during the ceremony reflects how I imagine their childhood was like. Daemon’s always squirming during sept services, Rhaenys pinches and pokes him to make him behave, and Viserys is a tattletale.
The Faith is supposedly based on Catholicism, so I leaned hard into the kneeling during services so Daemon has another thing to complain about.
Not gonna lie, I kinda want to write a short fic where the Dance does happen in this universe, partially because Aegon thinks he has to be king to keep/protect Jace. 🥲 Don’t know how the logic works out, but it’s fanfic, we’re here for the vibes.
During the feast, Rhaena and Helaena are talking to Daemion Velaryon and Garmund Hightower about the Fake Husband Project. Helaena will probably end up marrying Daemion (paper marriage only), but I don’t think Rhaena/Garmund is going to happen. We’ll see.
I’m kinda sorry but not actually sorry for Aegon’s song. I am proud I managed to make the rhyming and rhythm work. 😇

Okay, I love my shitpost introductions to actually serious thoughts, headcanons, 'verses, what have you, but also... big, pretty post with (some semblance of) context (primarily in one spot instead of scattered in asks). That might be cool.
Okay! So! I made a shitpost about Tyr and his... growing list of aus and other shit I've made him do. So now because there's a lot of lore in my goldfish bowl of a brain about it sometimes and so hopefully anyone who is like, "Dot, what the Fuck are you smoking?" can find some semblance of an answer to that, I have made a slightly less shitpost (maybe...), more written guide to The Bullshit I Am On.
This brought to you by uh... there are several of you that are enablers. You know who you are. Blows you a kiss through the screen.
The rest of you? Welcome to my shitposting. I am only partially sorry. But get comfortable because I'm not about to stop. : D
Tumblr media
Imperial Agent, moniker: "Cipher Nine"
The man, the myth, the legend, the og. Tyr Deckard, formerly Cipher Nine of Imperial Intelligence, double agent for the Republic Strategic Information Service answering to code name Legate.
Eventually turns Commander of the Eternal Alliance.
Primarily, if I'm talking about this bad bitch, it's as his og agent self. This is the foundation upon which all of my following nonsense came off of, which is why "ch: tyr" still talks about mostly this bad bitch, and all these other bad bitches that are and aren't him at the exact same time have other weird tags I have banged into existence with, like, a frying pan.
I love him and he needs to retire.
His character page is about this. I promise.
related tags; ch: tyr
Actually he has a pinterest board i haven't been obnoxious about in public yet either. merry crisis!
Tumblr media
Smuggler; known alias: "Oliver Daxton"
A companion au as much as a Tyr in the smuggler campaign in general-au. Reimagines Tyr as an ex-Imperial agent that defected out of Imperial Intelligence to the SIS, former Cipher Ten turned SIS Agent Oliver Daxton.
Started as an ask from @captainderyn that I just decided to be a little insane about, I guess.
Joins the titular Smuggler on Hoth as their contact point for the White Maw job and can potentially act as their right-hand. For fic writing purposes, I pair him with one of my other smugglers, Cee, and I primarily discuss Oli in that lens.
If Risha is Cee's right hand woman, Oliver is her left-hand man. In the smoke and dust after Corellia, Oliver and Master Sumalee pull a few strings with the SIS and have him reassigned with the new Voidhound more long-term, to protect the Republic's latest investment in underworld logistics.
In a potential edition of KOTXX events, when Cee goes missing in the wake of Marr's destroyed fleet, Oliver takes over her contact network and assumes her moniker as Voidhound, attempting to run supplies through Eternal Empire blockades initially in tandem with SIS efforts, before the straining relations between the Republic, Sith Empire, and the Eternal Empire of Zakuul break Oliver's overall faith in the Republic's true goals, and he takes the Voidhound's fleet to act independently until he is later contacted by Theron Shan to come home to the Alliance and reunite with Cee.

Bounty Hunter; known alias: "Kyranthe Rayne"
Shared au verse with @hyrohkaah; primarily focused in on the five year gap preceding KOTFE and following. A "Valkorian hot potato" role swap to shared verse events with Tyr & their Jedi Knight, Hyroh Kaah.
Involves a bit of timeline fuckery because timelines are a playground and this is already an au.
The short & sweet; Tyr adopts the alias "Kyranthe Rayne" and becomes a bounty hunter and assassin primarily for-hire following Hyroh's disappearance with Marr's fleet. Struck hard by the loss of a best friend, confidant, and lover, as Ky, he has already cut ties with Sith Intelligence earlier following the events on Ziost and now employs his former skills as a Cipher agent for his benefit first. And also to seek a little vengeance on the corrupt systems and parties that put him through hell as Cipher Nine.
Runs into Mako on the course of one of his hunts and basically adopts her. They are friends and partners now. They, in turn, also eventually adopt a stray former Jedi padawan named Ezekiel (also @hyrohkaah).
Ezekiel and Tyr got that sad, neglected, bonded, do not separate shelter dog rizz together. Eze essentially becomes his daughter. Bc it turns out Eze was also once a Sith Acolyte, so they share Imperial Abandonment Trauma (TM) and probably much to the stress of both of his now-adopted daughters, Tyr will kill people for them without so much as blinking.
In short, a Tyr who very nearly managed to get out and have a life beyond being an agent with Hyroh, lost that in the Wild Space expedition, spent approximately five years beaten down by the galaxy's assumption Hyroh had been killed, and who thus became a bit harder and a lot more stubborn about his boundaries in the aftermath of it all.
Eventually turns covert operative for the Eternal Alliance and is Hyroh's very fiercely protective guard dog of a boyfriend and personal advisor as Hyroh is thrust to become Commander of the Alliance.

Sith Warrior; known alias: "Tyr Kyrane"
I'm blaming this one mostly on @hyrohkaah because this is a take I said I'd never do for Tyr and now look what we're doing.
Full, actual, proper hot potato between Hyroh and Tyr, aka actual role swap where Tyr's the Force-sensitive one and Hyroh is the Imperial Agent. Crunchy Sith and Imperial power dynamics. Just as much devotion in blood. Just as much stupid displays of affection (eventually).
Partially reimagines Tyr's origin, of course, as adopted into the Sith Kyrane family following his parents' reported deaths (I'll neither confirm nor deny if this incarnation is still related to Keeper. Let's all suffer with the uncertainty. >:3), but not shown to be Force-sensitive until his early teens.
Thus struggles with alternating pressures of never being good enough for the family because he wasn't Sith, then because he wasn't of their own blood, and then especially because he's not of their blood, so any failures will be his own weakness, but could absolutely disgrace the house. Rigorous dance training eventually translates into dual training in dance and the demand to master the art of wielding a dual-bladed saber.
Connections with Overseer Tremel through the family bring him to Korriban slightly ahead of schedule, but Tremel takes over his training personally and paces it... far more evenly than his family. So you can imagine what Baras's later request for him to strike against the one man who perhaps gave half a damn about his well-being is like.
But, long story short, will attempt to use his eventual position as Wrath to curb some of the Dark Council's infighting and will take a particular interest in the remains of the Empire's Intelligence operations, thus adopted former Cipher Nine Hyroh Kaah as a personal agent in weeding out the remaining security risks of Baras's network of intelligence assets and informants.
Power couple shit, to be honest.
The babies of the aus because Joel and I had to make me bargain with myself to fucking finish his bounty hunter playthrough first and also maybe my Consular I've been neglecting on Satele Shan for fucking months, good god someone stop me.

Republic Trooper, Commanding Officer - Havoc Squad
An edition of Tyr that grew up in Republic space under the care of his single mother. They bounced around a fair bit between her work, sometimes moving planets entirely.
In his mid-teens, Tyr picked up work at a mechanic's shop - the latest in a series of odd jobs to help his mother make ends meet. As a side to that, he also got into racing swoopbikes. And accidentally ended up sort of in the middle of an SIS op that ultimately concluded in a staged accident in one of his races when he was sixteen. Tyr still has the scars on his chin and left shoulder.
Officially recruited into the Republic Strategic Information Service at 18, when he promptly moved out. His relationship with his mother had always been a bit strained and a touch distanced, so Tyr rarely saw much of her after the move. He did, however, continue to send her parts of his paychecks back to help her stay above board.
Ends up in SpecForce as an SIS plant with the goal of investigating rumored SpecForce unrest, desertions, and other unusual activity. Was never meant to stay assigned to Havoc Squad, but then... the whole squad turned to the Imps in front of him and... the rest is kinda history.
Has a tight, but somewhat up and down relationship with fellow Havoc recruit turned pilot in Hyroh. In short, Tyr isn't always the greatest fit as Havoc's CO, nor do him and Hyroh always see eye to eye based on differences in experiences with Republic loyalty.
Ultimately, however, Hyroh, Aric Jorgan, Elara Dorne, and Tyr are pretty ride or die. Despite the rocky lows and through the highs, they are consistently the people left around, the ones looking after each other. Tyr learns a lot about what he values and what truly matters: the people right beside you.

ALSO just thought about, this, (ignore my spelling mistakes and such, I, type fast and don't have tb3 patience to fix anything lmfao)
Maybe Mayhem is similar to Sarah as to his they got in5o th4 labyrinth? We do know that Sarah was in a way banished to the labyrinth (if in remembering right) and considering chaos the truth might b3 a chance that alternate universes play a role into his Mayhem even got to this planet, so maybe the angels or whatever saw mayhem causing chaos and banished her to ehever they sent Sarah, since (again, if I'm remembering right) that angels have a weird and suspicious connection to the labyrinth, what might also be th3 reasomctaht knight person that attacked mugs and Micheal I'd there, those 3 (plus Night Terror?) Never were born in the labyrinth, and as far as I can tell the labyrinth can't spawn in alternate version of characters to the degree that is mayhem, and not-cup could potentially be a version of cup ig he fully lost his soul to the devil, like a bad end version, idk I'm rambling but I really like this idea, and maybe the machine is what brought them to this universe, which could also be a minor reason the eye wants cup and mug to wait until they have the machine to fight the boss, since if the machine is capable of accessing alternate universes it could do really anything, maybe that cult has seen it first hand and that's why they were so be my on getting Wilson so they could turn it back on? Maybe bendys family has something to do with this cult? Bendy waking up in a field seems planned, maybe bendys parents wanted him to I stay there because that's where the machine is? What if his parents are looking for him? What if his parents are the ones who burned down the house and pit random junk in the front area before the house was arsoned??? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS AND THEORIES WITH NO EVIDENCE 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ooh, your take of mayhem's origin as from an alternate universe is interesting. I also had some theory that she was from an alternate universe but i could not explain how lol.
And regarding to the 3 ur talking about, i believe those are the illusions of Lukahd (a lady with hearts around her), Ventis (the one with the sword who violently attacked michael, mugs and boris. Shes also the one who said "dont trust the demons" or smth along the lines in that paradise full of dust zombies) and the Night Terror. And yeah, those werent born in there, they were all some sort of anomalies but satah managed to tame the Night Terror. There are also many other people out there that the Questers saw cuz those people were either from their memories, previous people's memories or from the instrument's own memories that is being projected to them by the labyrinth since it was like a cage whispering your negative thoughts out loud.
Sarah might be similar to mayhem in a way that they are both connected to an ink machine part but im not sure about them being banished in the labyrinth by the angels. Sarah was the one who created the labyrinth and consumed the souls of those in fairmont town which made it an abandoned. And the one who made that seal was Cannikin. Also Mayhem is a cosmic which is equivalent to a powerful being in inky mystery, so i dunno how the angels could interfere with Chaos teaching her how to mess with toons.
And your take on Not-cup was good. He might be the potential bad endung Cuphead but we dont know for now cuz theyre still in recovery T-T or maybe he's just another illusion im the labyrinth, but then that begs the question, how the heck did he get in the tear with mayhem? So yea i dunno about that shit.
And the Ink Machine bringing forth an alternate universe? Uh cant explain that lol. We have only seen a fraction of its power through boris and how the demons want it so badly. And the Eye, not sure about that since theres no much thing revealed about it yet but i think thats sone kind of warning for the cupbros for whatever important action they may take.
And cult, the Cercatori, hmm, they are some shady people put there but i dont know if they want the ink machine cuz the cult was about the Lady of Despair. But that is possible that they may know the ink machine.
And bendy's parents... still left as an inky mystery...
Also if i remember it correctly, the Ink Machine is hiding in the seven sands desert?? That was where Wilson went to before he got chased by the cupbros and eventually crashed a car.
And that arson, there was some unidentified rune that they found in the attic i think? It wasnt angel rune, not micco either, maybe a demon rune??? But still, i aint sure about that, the possible culprit is : a. a henchman of the devil, b. someone from the cult or c. other
Hehe, i like hearing ur thoughts about this :3 Im also prone to conclusions if i dont have enough info at hand but i try to gather some from the wiki, find clues, and maybe reread some significant chapters.

😭 Warning: theorizing about diasomnia makes most of my thoughts messy and inconsistent. After rereading, I added my additional thoughts to stuff and organized it by color, sorry if nothing makes sense!! Also sorry that it’s long, got carried away yikes.
SO I NEVER EVEN NOTICED THE SYMBOLS LIKE THAT??? Silver and his symbol, the parallels of Sebek and Silver, like wow the brainmeats are working overtime 😳 Parallels from how they act to the way they trained to even their own beings! However let me explore something too. Going with symbols, doesn’t Sebek’s look like lightning bolts? And didn’t lightning strike every time Maleficent was angry?? After the curse, didn’t she make the world dark and stormy??? I think Sebek is team Malleus no matter what, literally following him to the ends of time despite knowing how wrong it is. I think his loyalty could potentially fuel the ob…? And I definitely think his loyalty makes him all the more manipulable 😔
(Omg the way they trained?! What do you normally use against a sword?? A SHIELD!!!! SILVER VS SEBEK, UH HELLO?? Doesn’t have to be physical either, could be a battle of their morals too!)
As the only human, he may feel more responsibility to protect all humanity. Silver’s origins can go in many ways but I’m leaning towards betrayal 👀 Why and how did Lilia take this…sleeping beauty…and raise him as a protector to the future king? Does he really love him, or was it all an act? Did Lilia know something like this would happen? If everyone sees a normal human working with fae, would that make the humans more inclined to submit? THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS! Like how do we know that the Lilia we see…is the real Lilia? His mask is freaking thicker than Jamil’s!
(As half-human, it isn’t unlikely for Sebek to switch sides to protect humanity like I think for Silver however that would include coming to terms with his other genes and he doesn’t exactly seem willing yet…him and his self-identity is truly what I look forward to when book 7 comes to Eng)
(Like Kalim played the role of Aladdin and the Sultan, I think Silver will play both Aurora and Philip)
And don’t get me started on Malleus. This pisses people off but I truly think he is innocent and/or naive. Just not in the same way as Kalim. He’s also snarky and mischievous, prideful and challenging. But pouting because nobody invited you somewhere, despite you not showing any interest…? Seems a bit much? You can’t expect people to know what you want and how you feel…so maybe he’s also greedy, due to upbringing and royal expectations? Honestly thinking of Malleus is hard…
Diasomnia as a whole is hard, especially since we now know that the devs will hide literally any form of hint in even the smallest of cracks 😂
Don’t be sorry, Anonie! Please! Get carried off as much as you want 🙌 I always welcome it especially if it’s diasomnia content 👏💙 (I also just got carried away as you will see lolol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
YES ANONIE YES!! The parallels between Silver and Sebek just has me screaming!! and with book 7 coming soon, it seems that the recent merch they are releasing have been showing more and more of the parallels between them even more and I cant help but wonder if they are doing it on purpose or not but either way my brain is just ahhhhhhhh everytime I think about it.
the count down pictures show the thorns connected between the knights and I just omg I have so much to say but at the same time all I can do it scream. then you have the Halloween wafer merch which have them mirroring again and I believe the last pictures are stickers and instead of their usually symbols they HAVE A THREAD CONNECTING THEM. A THREAD. SILVER HAS A  SPOOL OF THREAD AND SEBEK HAS THE SPINNING WHEEL.
When you think of their personalities too, they are similar and yet kind of opposite?
YES ANONIE I forgot about that scene with thunder in Sleeping Beauty! and you know what? that whole thunder aspect actually came into play (or more of a sneak peek in a recent JP event!) so you mentioning that just had me *spinning in excitement*  I do agree that Sebek is loyal no matter what to malleus and that he can be somewhat manipulated because of it. But I think, as we see he is constantly thinking about his human and fae half. and I think his outlook on humans and that part of him will play a huge role in his “rebellion’ against malleus as we have seen with all first years. at one point, knights have to decide for themselves what they believe in and why they are loyal and if the lord they follow stick true to why they followed them initially. Lords can also learn from those they command over and I think malleus needs that.
(YES SEBEK VS SILVER WOULD BE A EPIC BATTLE like I can see one or the other knocking some sense into the other. they were raised and trained together right? of course they would clash eventually and I believe they have much to learn from the other too. they might both serve malleus and Lilia but we haven't seen the reasons why and I would love to know)
(we really know barely anything about diasomnia T_T or faes )
(we really know barely anything about diasomnia T_T or faes )
Sebek’s character development and identity crises is what I look forward to in book 7. I cant wait to see what role Silver does play in book 7 since he is the sword of Philip and sleeping beauty. I feel like his UM will play a big role too)
(ALSO ANONIE, THIS IS A BIT OUT OF TOPIC BUT THE PARALLELS SILVER AND MC HAS IS ALWAYS SO 👌👌👌 I JUST CANT DKJJFJKFJKD)
I know alot of people has a love or hate when it comes to Malleus. but I think every character has their weakness and strengths and we should not judge others for their point of view and wether they like them or not. I wouldn't say malleus is without his faults but I also wouldn’t say that everything he does is wrong.
Malleus is royalty. He was raised without parents (possibly), protected at all costs, basically sheltered, and feared because of his powers. so of course, he doesn't know much when it comes to social interactions. plus if you add on the fact that the Valley of Thorns is still “stuck in the past” probably adds onto his social interaction issues. Lilia and malleus has mentioned before that time runs different for the fae so its difficult for them to keep track of everything and that's why he forgets about meets and such and I believe he is also young in terms of fae standards so he hasn't fully adapted. no one really goes out of thier way of inviting him either so of course it just makes him all the more lonely and seeking friendships and support in ways he can.
but Malleus also knows what's expected of him. he is royalty so he won't cause any problems that will disgrace him or his family hence him scolding sebek over leona and why he didn't attend the whole Eliza spectacle in ghost marriage.
but he is also young and he is learning and of course he has his mischievous streak too. but its a two way street so he needs to also learn to get along with others but at the same time people need to interact with him (he also needs to be less...closed off from everyone? since diasomnia is so secluded from everyone but we can see that possible in events from the Arab niyya event but that doesnt count main story wise but we do see it as a possibility that he can go out and have fun and mingle ...if given the chance, but good luck with that since this is NRC and everyone is emotionally constipated 🤣😅)
Anonie, I am ready to fight the devs at this point. not only are they hiding every single diasomnia content in cracks but they barely give us anything! Please! its been two years! give us a crumb.

Hi I am interested in your thought's on Misha's latest on stage rant at a con in Australia. He badmouthed the show, changed his until now consistent story that it would be Jimmy at the bar in heaven to say it was going to be cas, and was incredibly rude about the final focusing on the brothers. Oh and did it while being paid to represent the very show he called a shitshow. Does this kind of unprofessional disparagement of a show that paid him for 12 years and gave him what slight fame he has affect the way he will be viewed in the future when people are casting for projects? In the real world this kind of comments would make someone almost unhireable. https://www . instagram.com/tv/Ce_k35ZsVcI/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Link
“I’ve got in trouble several times with writers and producers”  LoL not fucking likely dude, not even Singer can keep covering for you if you continuously get into trouble with writers and producers, especially not with those Q scores.
“What are they going to do, fire me?”  Uh, Misha, you do remember that you’re on Gotham Knight on CW, right?
“Dean was going to sidle up to Cas in the bar”.  Uh-huh, sure Jan.  He’s admitted at Comic Con that he hasn’t seen the finale script, only Jared and Jensen has.  You know why?  Because Misha wasn’t scheduled to be in the finale and hence why he didn’t get a script after he finished filming his last episode, 15x18.
“But instead they got 2 guys on the bridge”.  After seeing how well received the finale was, which added to the show’s rewatch value and kept SPN in Nielsen’s top 10 acquired show list, everybody and their stunt double’s evil twin wanted to have been in the finale.  Kim Rhodes wept over how Jody Mills deserved an exit in the finale and that Richard Speight said he was going to have Jody in the finale even though he didn’t write it and he’s didn’t direct it.
Anon, despite Misha’s trolling this isn’t going to catch wave with casting directors because 1) the show is over and 2) the con was in Australia, not the U.S. where People picked up his “I’m all three” fake bi coming out, and 3) his fanfiction is not enough to interest entertainment blogs here.  Maybe the hellers will bring this up in the next con the J2 are at and as usual the J2 will roll their eyes and go, “Oh Misha, once again promising something he can’t deliver” type reaction.  Also, you've clearly never been in the Star Trek fandom where every OG actors  except Shatner and McCoy (because the Canadian and the Southern gentleman knows better) trashes Star Trek and then expect to be in the Star Trek movies.
With that said, it’s notable that Misha hasn’t been offered roles in shows produced by SPN alumnus: Kripke’s The Boys, Gamble’s You, Carver’s Doom Patrol, Andrew Dabb’s Resident Evil, Thompson’s The Winchesters.

And Aymeric... hasn't said anything since he struck Vartinoix down.

Atta boy, Clem.
Tumblr media
... Aymeric isn't doing well, is he?
Let's see what we can do to get more information about the summoning. I like how they reference the fact that summoning Thordan and the Knights Twelve failed because of a lack of aether - no Nidhogg Eyes, and no Warring Triad. But they did summon a champion of sorts - and I'm betting they summoned one of the original Knights Twelve.
Also, talking to the other summoners resulted in them panicking and Turning! let's, uh, try another method to figuring out more about this clone.
Onwards! To Camp Dragon... head...

Yeah, the fact that the Archbishop and Knights Twelve are dead isn't gonna be welcome news to this guy -

Ok bc my brain tortures me with Thoughts and Ideas… Here is how I think the general narrative layout of a Arthurian-esque Samtory story would go (this is by nature of course partially inspired by @leohttt ‘s samtory Robin Hood AU bc. Medieval folklore and all that):
- Kreese was the previous King of Camelot, and with no direct heir or relation he decided to form an elite coalition of knights (it’s the Cobras. Obviously) and whoever he judged the most worthy he would make his legal heir. This ends up being Johnny.
- Daniel, main-character-syndrome-haver that he is, does have some Arthur-esque elements to him but specifically in a more sword-in-the-stone way. Aka, he’s not of noble birth (not even secretly, in this instance), he’s just some scrappy kid who meets a really cool but often cryptic old guy which leads him on a whole adventure to change Camelot forever.
- Aka this kid moves to Camelot, manages to immediately piss off its most elite knights, and gets so invested in this conflict that he’s like hey this King sucks. We should get rid of him
- Guy who like, just got here leads rebellion to depose Kreese bc why not
- This entire conflict still leads to Kreese trying to kill Johnny bc of course it does!
- Johnny and the Cobras are unable to stop Daniel and his uprising from ousting Kreese; but, after Kreese tried to kill Johnny, and now that he’s gone, Daniel, of course, shows mercy. He and Johnny end up coming to an agreement that the legal line of succession is still valid and Johnny takes the throne, although with diminished executive power, which he’s fine with bc he’s actually majorly insecure and terrified of fucking up.
- Daniel becomes one of his most prominent advisors and they’re like. Obviously pretty close.
- Johnny is still, uh. Pretty fucked up in the head from everything though. As they get older his drinking worsens, plague and famine and other disasters exacerbate his already fragile self-worth as ruler, and his insecurities grow deeper.
- Eventually he ends up having an affair with a commoner that leads to her becoming pregnant, and at this point he just. Can’t do it anymore. So he literally skips town and leaves Daniel in charge.
- Daniel, newly thrust into a role as regent, does his best to figure out what the fuck to do about all of this. He finds out about Johnny’s affair, and realizing Johnny may have an heir, starts the task of looking for where this commoner might have gone and where her kid is.
- (By this time he’s married Amanda and had Sam already ofc).
- It takes years for the new circle of knights to find Robby and Shannon, and when they do Robby 100% tries to rob them first.
- He’s still a kid at this point; and the adjustment from peasant to royal life is difficult, to say the least.
- He and Sam grow very close, though, practically seeing each other as siblings.
- Sam’s role is… complicated, by all of this. She’s the first-born of the man actually ruling the kingdom; but she’s not the heir. Robby is, and once he’s old enough he’ll take the throne.
- She becomes a knight, along with Hawk and Miguel and Aisha. She wants to be useful; wants there to be a reason for her to hold the nebulous station she does.
- She also definitely has prophetic dreams and visions, but she keeps that quiet because having magic isn’t something you’re really supposed to admit to.
- Yes we are employing the Merlin-style “magic is outlawed” trope, for flavor. The harsher punishments and most extreme conditions were under Kreese, but even after, the ban was not completely lifted. Both Johnny and Daniel’s positions as rulers have been complicated and often fragile; neither of them had the absolute power to really change something like that, especially when so much of the nobility still views magic as destructive and evil.
- Finally, Robby’s about to ascend the throne. In the meantime he’s been betrothed to a noble’s daughter from a fief they’ve been trying to build an alliance with for some time.
- On the very day his betrothed is set to arrive, Robby stumbles upon the information that Daniel has actually known exactly where Johnny is hiding out for the last ~20 years, and is uh. Understandably upset and feels betrayed.
- Overwhelmed with anger and hurt, he storms out of the castle and disappears into the wood, declaring if Daniel won’t tell him exactly where to find his father, he’ll go find him himself.
- Cue Tory arriving in Camelot, already not exactly happy but trying to make the best of things, being married off to a future king and all that, but he’s Not Even Fucking There.
- His surrogate sister is, though, and she’s annoying as fuck.
- And totally not super hot or anything.
- Oh, and also Terry is a witch-king and warlord with an army of mercenaries living a couple kingdoms over.
- Also when I said Daniel ousted Kreese, did you think he was gonna not still be alive? Bc of course he is. Hanging with his evil sorcerer king bestie.
- “Didn’t Kreese outlaw magic?” Yeah. What about it.
- Kreese: Magic is evil and treacherous and disgusting
Everyone else: Isn’t your boyfriend literally a sorcerer?
Kreese: I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. Kill yourself
- Oh and Demetri is Hawk’s squire and manservant who is like. A beginner wizard who is really fucking bad at hiding the fact that he’s magical but Hawk is too dense to notice.
- There’d be a whole plot line where Moon gets accused of witchcraft and Hawk, indoctrinated by anti-magic beliefs, fails to defend her and agrees to carry out the order to exile her, saying she’s just lucky the punishment wasn’t harsher. And Demetri has to watch that from the background going “UH OH. HMM. UH OH”
- (Moon lady of the lake storyline mayhaps???)
- Piper is the leader of a group of bandits. Bc I said so.
- Aisha is a knight but also a scholar with an interest in alchemy, which puts her in a complicated position as far as the whole no-magic thing
- Carmen, as a healer, is also inevitably accused of witchcraft (even though she’s not actually magic)
- This is extremely difficult for Miguel and furthers the rift forming between the more tolerant knights (himself, Sam, eventually Aisha, and a couple others) and the more militant, “bring back the old days when we put sorcerers to death” knights (many of the show’s Cobra Kais, including Hawk; at least, for a while, I assume he gets his head out of his ass eventually)
- As soon as news gets out that Robby is missing tensions skyrocket
- Amid all of this though Sam and Tory are just. Having an insane amount of sexual tension, even though that’s like really NOT helping the whole “dangerous state of political unrest” thing that’s going on
- Sam and some of the other knights decide to set out to track Robby down and bring him home; Tory argues her way onto the expedition by requesting they drop her off at her estate to visit her mother and brother on the way
- On the way there, though, they’re attacked by mercenaries, and Sam realizes with growing horror and rage that Tory sold them out.
- Listen. Tory’s mom is sick, and the state of her fiefdom is fragile. Everyone wants their resources, and if they knew the lady of the land was ill, that it was unprotected, they would all immediately swoop in and carve it to pieces. Tory can’t let this happen. The problem is there is someone who knows about her mother’s condition, and that’s Silver.
- So she’s stuck with him. But he promises that if she plays along, he’ll help her find a healer to save her mother. He installs his mercenaries on her land to “guard” it and her manor, but she knows it’s also a threat.
- Tory decides she doesn’t have a choice. She does what she has to.
- It was Silver who devised the plan to set up the betrothal, although no one in Camelot knew of his involvement.
- Sam and her knights are taken into custody by Silver’s men and brought back to his lair. Sam does not stop glaring at the back of Tory’s head the entire time.
- Once there, Sam is surprised to find Robby is there as well, and not entirely unwillingly. (He truly. Left Camelot and fell into their clutches almost immediately). He tells her Kreese is the only person who’s ever been willing to talk openly with him about his dad. He wants to hear them out, wants to play it cool.
- So Sam is having a tough time. Understandably.
- Does she 100% sneak into Tory’s bedroom, telling herself it’s so she can get even or get answers and definitely has nothing to do with the fact that looking at Tory makes her feel like her insides are melting into very hot, very gay slime? Of course she does!
- When Sam and her knights make their escape, Sam manages to drag Tory back with her, but Robby refuses to come with them, overwhelmed and scared and desperate for stability.
- As Silver’s armies muster and Camelot is torn into civil war, Sam has to make the decision to defy both her father and her future king, and what does that make her? What does that mean for a knight? What if the only way to keep Camelot safe is to accept the burden of leading it?
- Also she might’ve stolen said future king’s future bride. So. That’s happening too.

In regards to the post about characters who seem collected and have their shit together but then you peel back a few layers and they are so inherently flawed: I'd like to talk about Diluc Ragnvindr.
(as always, k/luc shippers DNI please)
I'm going to be talking about a few of the recent events here, as well.
When the traveler met Diluc, it was clear that the man has a lot of concern about the well-being of others, and Mondstadt as a whole. He accepts the fact that Venti is Barbatos and it doesn't change his objective. He doesn't like to work with the Knights for unknown reasons. He works at night in disguise to keep the city safe.
He seems to be a very level-headed man with straight morals, and he has a gentlemanly presence. He is well-spoken and knows when things need to be taken into his own hands.
When faced the issue of the Abyss Order sending the Knights of Favonius a sort of peace offering to make a mutual enemy of the Darknight Hero, he already knows. It's odd, right? So, he must have connections. And a fast working network at that. Ok, so that's not unheard of. He's rich and powerful, but he's using those resources to help others. Right?
When speaking of good and evil, he states that "heroes and villains are both sides of one coin".
And you think huh. Ok. Alright. That's odd to be saying but whatever. I know you're a good guy, you helped us thwart the Abyss Order.
So you go with him to stake out an area to gather information on the Abyss Order with him. He insists on masks. Ok. Well. I guess that makes sense right? But Diluc has bright red hair. How stupid is the enemy?
You corner the abyss mage and oh ok. Diluc is committing a literal war crime by torturing the mage with pyro. He slipped into a separate angrier tone of voice and started using pyro with his bare hands. Is that something people with visions usually do? Well, according to the Abyss Mage, no.
Diluc burns the guy for intel and then it's hinted that he killed it in the end, seeing as it's disappeared from the area.
Ok.
Paimon is scared of him now. Valid. But he's on our side? So there's nothing to worry about. Only you remember his line about heroes and villains. Ok.
So Diluc comes up with this thought of using this mixture that slimes are attracted to en-masse and dumping that at the side gate to distract the knights. He says this is the only way. Insisting that you do not tell the knights about this because they're ill equipped.
It seems… dramatic honestly. Right? I mean, the Knights are also actively trying to protect the city.
But diluc goes on to explain every bit of his plan. And you realize uh. Well you won't be doing much, huh. This is a plan that mostly involves Diluc telling you what's going to happen. Step by step.
Lie to the knights.
Make sure you get out of the tavern.
Get to the gates by 10pm to meet the small army of abyssal creatures that are set to storm the city.
And diluc just singlehandedly takes them all out. Not even using his vision a majority of the time.
He is a fucking force to be reckonedc with. Why did you come along. He slaughtered everything with no remorse.
So now, at the end of this quest.
You have this man who supposedly is calm and collected- scrambled to put together a very intricate plan to put Mondstadt in danger (specifically the slime infestation at the side gate that, the traveler will STILL get commissions to deal with the slimes years later), simply so he (the more capable one in his mind) could go out and be a vigilante, to save the city himself.
And you start to realize that no. Diluc really isn't a good person.
Does he genuinely care about protecting the innocents in Mond? Yes.
It's clear that this is something that distresses him and that weighs heavily on his shoulders. He never regards himself as a hero, either. He does not do this for recognition.
Will Diluc put others in danger to continue playing out this role he's picked for himself? Yes. He put the city in danger to make sure he could take care of what he did.
He's also not above torturing captives for information
And then you read his story.
He went on a 3 year spree across Teyvat to search for answers in regards to his father's death. Using the delusion that killed his father, and learning to use it without killing himself. He killed so many Fatuus and took out so many strongholds that the Harbingers themselves had to come and put him down.
And it's odd, right?
Because over the last few updates, the traveler has been learning that the Fatui are a cult, essentially. And the soldiers that work hard and fight are doing this because it's this great honor, but they're also people. They're actual people with actual quests and motivations and stories.
(Side note: If you haven't done the fortune slip hidden quest in inazuma you should. There's some juicy fatui lore to be had)
And the more the traveler learns about the Fatui, the more they are people.
Diluc shut out the notion that each and every soldier he killed was an individual. He's not welcome in Snezhnaya because of what he did. He likely killed hundreds of Fatuus in his 3 year spree.
And every time we have conversations with some Fatuus that are willing to talk, I just think about how Diluc went and slaughtered ruthlessly.
Agafya in this quest at golden apple archipelago says something like "you wpuld really burn someone alive? Not even the cruelest Fatui Agent would do that."
And I think that wording was purposeful. We know damn well Diluc would.
She also says it's inhumane to torture people for information, and that they are taught that if they give up intel to the enemy, then they'll be killed with no remorse because the other side will have no use for you. Citing incidents mentioned in the past by her commander.
It's just… telling. And I'm maybe reading too into things, but if the Fatui are all briefed on the traveler and Paimon… with what we've done… there's no way Diluc and his actions aren't being used to further scare the Fatui soldiers into behaving a certain way. They have specific rules to follow during situations where they are hostages. They mention being burned alive and how cruel it is.
What I'm easentially trying to say is: Diluc has committed atrocities. Diluc has likely not paid for these atrocities, just like he hasn't paid for harming his brother.
Diluc is stuck in this world where he thinks his actions are selfless simply because they align with a certain moral cause. But his morals change based on the situation and based on the enemy.
Remember those rumors Moco and Hillie (two of Diluc's maids) talk about at the winery? About people staying the night and then going missing the next morning? And how Adelinde refused to acknowledge it?
I think Diluc has a hand in that.
I think Diluc is a dangerous man who refuses to acknowledge what he is. He's deeply traumatized by what happened with his father to the point where he hates talking about it. He carries the weight of Mondstadt's well-being on his shoulders alone because he 'has to' or 'he's the only one capable'. When in actuality he knows damn well there are good knights who are trustworthy. (Jean, Kaeya, Albedo).
I think he's selfish at heart. Living out his fantasy here in Mondstadt. Refusing to change. Wallowing in self-loathing whenever something horrible happens. Putting others down to continue what he supposedly has to do alone.
He'd a mess, truly. And I wouldn't want to make an enemy out of him.
I know people talk about a betrayal in terms of Kaeya and Khaenri'ah. But I think if anyone, we should be worried about Diluc snapping. He's dangerous. He has connections. He has the means to make problems disappear. He has the money, the status.
He's so dangerous. And yet his self-loathing, his guilt, and his stubbornness keep him from going down that route.
It's part of why I think, if he ever approaches Kaeya to reconcile, I think that's when the traveler should start being worried about ulterior motives or drastic happenings.
Yes he cares. Yes! I do genuinely think he cares! But it's also such a vicious cycle of harm and hatred. And hatred kills people from the inside out.
Anyway yeah thanks for listening to my absolute mess of an infodump. If you made it this far thank you I appreciate your patience and I'd love to hear your thoughts.
