tbh it's kind'a sad that wizards in rpg-style media are all 1 flavor. how did a class with such cool, wild possibilities consistently get boiled down to "character with underhanded ulterior motives that's on the brink of going mad with power" with only slight variations in execution. that's so boring. let me play my conjuration mailman that wants to learn teleportation to more efficiently do their job and not accidentally blow up the world and i'll show you how it's done

I have seen takes on mcu Gamora for example people soured on her after watching some of the movies she’s been in. Infinity war made people think she was a disposable character, in endgame when a different version of her shows up people already gave up on her character and expected disappointment in vol3. There are some people that think she was only good for lifting up other characters Peter, nebula, and Thanos specifically, IW and vol3 are used as examples of this claim. She really does seem to get dismissed a lot by both fans and writers.

it’s a shame that she ended up getting some of this treatment from fans and probably the writers as well. Since Iw kinda led too all of this in a way. She was a character that had potential but I think they wasted it.

but what do you think?

Oh god, the way she's just used from Infinity War onwards as a vehicle for everyone else's development... I'm forever gonna be mad about it.

Infinity War uses her to move Thanos's story further and make him out to be a sympathetic villain. Endgame, she's mostly there with Nebula and I don't outright mind that-- I think it flows well, as the sisterly relationship has been such a crux of these characters since their first appearance.

Vol 3 needed to focus on her; instead, anything with her is about how Peter needs to let her go. It's fixated on him alone. We know how Peter feels about 2018!Gamora's death, but we've got no clue how 2014!Gamora feels about it.

It's frustrating to see as Gamora's feelings tend to be the motivating factor for the Guardians. It's her that pushes them towards saving Xandar, her that encourages Peter to find that familial connection with his father that she wants to have with Nebula, it's even her that says they should respond to the distress signal in Infinity War.

Then it's... nothing. She stops being a character in her own right.

Fandom's dismissal of her did come before this, lmao, and as this is the MCU, that's not exactly surprising. It's definitely frustrating-- but I'd never call it surprising.

It shows in the lack of fanworks for her, her primary ship, just.... everything regarding her. It's a shame that the source material has decided to dismiss her too.

it’s moments like this that show who batman actually is, he disregards the mission amanda waller sent him in on because he recognizes who ace is, a terrified child just like he was. she’s not doing any of this out of malice, she’s scared & alone & is being used by the adults around her.

that’s who batman should always be & i always sob when he brings ace out & she just looks so small compared to him.
