The lyrics originate from a translation of the "Kalevala" - a 19th-century work of epic poetry compiled by Elias Lönnrot from Karelian and Finnish oral folklore and mythology.

The Kalevala is regarded as the national epic of Karelia and Finland and is one of the most significant works of Finnish literature

I’m at the usual table, Holden texted before setting his phone down on the table. The booth in question was a little secluded from the rest of the area and offered some privacy but above all, the muffled sounds coming from the speakers meant they’d be able to actually maintain a conversation without straining to hear or shouting over the music.

It was a bit strange to be here though. They had good memories at this table so he hoped what he was about to do wouldn’t tarnish them. Because yeah, he’d decided that tonight, he would tell her that he saw her boyfriend doing just a few days ago. There was no easy way to reveal something like that but he figured it would be way harder for her to hear it so that encouraged him to stand his ground. She needed to know. He couldn’t wait to see her though. He’d even arrived 15 minutes early and just to avoid keeping her waiting, plus maybe, just maybe he wanted to see her arrive and make her way over to him. She was a snack, there was no denying that, and old habits die hard, right? His gaze kept drifting to his phone every now and then so he wouldn’t miss potential texts from her.

What is the worst gift you have ever received?

Is it rude if I give my honest answer on this? We all know I can be rude but I don't want my family finding out how I truly felt about this...

My abuela gave me this absolutely horrid dress when I turned 12. I'm not even kidding, it was absolutely loaded with lace and ruffles. Pretty sure she hand made it and used some of her creepy dolls as inspiration.

In hindsight, it was a thoughtful gift. But this falls under the worst gift category because I had to pretend I loved it.

Neve grew up in quite a wealthy family. Her father was a politician, her mother was a teacher at an academy of dance. Which of course meant that Neve had been trained from the moment she could walk, to be a dancer. Classical Ballet to be precise.

She loved Ballett. It was a place of comfort for her, a way to release her stress and concerns. On the floor, she was free. She was always the top of her class, usually got lead roles in the ballet productions they put on, and had many prospects awaiting her with prestigious dance schools.

But that all ended one day with a snap. A literal one, when her dance partner lifted her, but their grip slipped, and she fell down, landing awkwardly on her foot, causing a fracture that ended her career as a ballerina.

Neve hit a stage of depression, and though her mother assured her that her life was not over, even if her dance career was, she struggled to see a life past her injury.

With lots of rehabilitation, and Physical therapy, she regained the strength and movement in her foot, and her mother decided to show her that she could still dance, in a way, and started to take her to aerial hoop classes. At first, she didn’t see how this could help her, but as her mother pushed her to continue to go, she found a love for it. She could still dance ballet, but take the weight off her injury. She expanded from the hop, to ropes and silks, and is now an experienced Aerial artist.
