the midnight lover the midnight lover [noun, german origin] refers to a character that believes their final destination is a second place. they are always there when people need them, but they are never their first choice, merely the one to talk to at midnight when one is the most honest, just to be thrown away the morning after (hence why they're called a midnight lover). midnight lovers love too much, fall too deep and land to hard for anyone and everyone they appreciate, but they never seem to get their love back in the way they'd want, forever united by the dreadful second place in people's lives. many take advantage of midnight lovers, using their heart that's always there to listen as something they can dump all their problems on, not acknowledging that their heart is just as fragile as any other. still, midnight lovers listen and comfort and give their all no matter it draining them - sometimes it's truly astonishing how much love they're able to store within themselves. all midnight lovers long for is to be perceived as something more than 'the second resort', though many struggle to realize their already achieved significance in eyes of others. who knows, many (or majority) may haven't ever been a second choice, they were just lead to believe so via people not treating them accordingly. as a certain saying goes, "one not worthy of your love should not be able to spend it." - a fellow midnight lover fully expect this to flop but oh well no pressure tags @imaginatorofthings @olivers-cocoapuffs @officialsoupstore @scabscribz @automaticcatsandwich @if-i-could-give-u-the-moon @averydeadshootingstar @charliethinks and everybody else

one thing that i liked about the fourth episode was the little scene at the beginning when they're all sleeping. because annabeth and percy have this long, serious talk about annabeth's family and how the gods work. and then grover just wakes up in the middle of it and starts bickering with annabeth about sleep and like— we got an annabeth and grover moment. i didn't realize how much i needed that.

1. the red means i love you by mads buckley (1): this is the only song i consistently like with a color in the name and it was so hard to find T-T

2. deep breaths by sushi soucy (20): i have a lot of feelings about this song. basically, it's about this boy and he can't breathe. and no matter what anyone tells him or what he does, it doesn't get fixed. he still can't breathe and he ends up running away. for me, this song has two meanings: one relating to gender and the other to gifted kid syndrome stuff. for the gender part, it's all about how this kid is growing up in a world where everyone expects him to do this one "simple" thing. it's natural for everyone else, so why can't he do it? and except for breathing, he can do everything else fine. but people are only fixated on how he can't breathe. it's very real in the sense that if you're not cis, people will fixate on your gender like it's the most important thing and forget about everything else you do that isn't defined by that. also, it talks about how there's something wrong with his chest and maybe his lungs are "too big" or "too small". that has something to do with gender dysphoria, i think. i'm not really sure. as for the gifted kid part, it speaks about how eventually, "smart" kids (like moi) hit a wall where we can't just pass just on our own. we have to study, we have to put in effort. and most of us never learned how to do that since it came so easily. but now we have to and we can't deal with all that pressure and it quite literally feels like we can't breathe. yet everyone around us is still staring, expecting us to continuously and consistently keep reaching that high standard. we should able to breathe. we've done it before. but we can't.

3. can't help falling in love by elvis presley and ho hey by the lumineers (29): the first one is actually the lullaby that my parents used to sing to my sister when she was younger. they call it "her song" which i think is really cute and every time i hear it, i think of her. the second one is the one they would sing to me. though, i remember it specifically playing during my baths.

hi veero, hows life been lately?

life's been okay. i've just got a really big project due in two weeks that's been absolutely kicking my ass. like every time i open it, i just die a little bit...so that's been fun :) it's so stupid too because the project doesn't even count for a grade. it's a community service thing which is nice, but the amount of pressure you get while working on it is isane. they expect it to be this big, impactful action and i just can't do that right now. but on the other hand i've only got ten more weeks of school left. so the world is not all that bad.how are you, friend? i hope you're doing okay too.
