Nach dem Einkaufsbummel im KaDeWe lohnt sich ein kleiner Abstecher an die Moët-Bar - hier harmoniert auch das Menü perfekt mit dem Champagner.

Serviert werden auch Champagner-Cocktails wie Royal Red oder Punch Romaine – und wir vergessen natürlich nicht, die Drinks verantwortungsbewusst zu genießen.

do u have any random thoughts about sirius/remus?? literally anything at all- any random blurb or thought just Anything. reading ur james thoughts and i wanted to ask because i feel like any ramblings/character specificities u have about them will scratch my brain rlly good

my thesis for them is that one quote about how soulmates will eventually find each other, because they have the same hiding place

like the longer i spend with them the more i realize that i see them as recluses. perhaps not literally speaking (r & s have their own ways of attracting friends) but they are the two most isolated characters in the story to me. they’re yoked with really specific (yet opposing) burdens that nobody else is ever going to understand. they want to permanently hide their faces from the world & they have both built that kind of barren refuge inside of themselves

many other characters have stories that are built around Love, and the presence (james, lily, andromeda) or absence (regulus, barty, tom) of it, but that isn’t r&s to me. they have the Least to do with love stories because their entire lives are already so wrapped up in resolving super individual questions of freedom & autonomy & the hurt they cause & the hurt they suffered… but that’s why their love story hits the hardest, for me? they’re the least suited for it and it happened anyway.

once again my remus is like…. a city unto himself, but all internal. polite & mild mannered but also impossible to sway. i think he has the biggest imagination of all of them and it’s what lets him remain so Untouched. he’s not a ~creative~ or anything (pretty uncreative, actually) but he’s a poor german werewolf who is living a Little inside his head specifically because his life sucks so bad. he’s a boy sleeping on a shitty mattress but stubbornly imaging himself sleeping on a better one, if that makes sense, and he’ll die before telling anyone that’s what he’s thinking about.

and then sirius is a prodigal girl-son who’s part dog and still operating somewhat like an ex-cult victim after leaving their family. but they’re so beautiful & terrible & spoiled & brave that nobody can See that. sirius doesn’t need a love story because they need their brother back. and remus has so much of his own baggage, and they are both such Monoliths of independence that it’s less like they’re committed to unraveling the threads of each other’s interiority and more like they’re two cars crashing into each other then scrambling to pick apart the wreckage, holding shattered parts up to the light to examine, one crash at a time. it’s crazy.

it’s like… they make the least sense for each other, but not JUST because they’re mismatched (which they are aesthetically, but not personality-wise). it’s because they’re the two people on earth who need romantic love the least and their lives would be MUCH less complicated without it, maybe even better. but they cannot escape each other. they will never escape each other!!! because!!! they have!! the same hiding places!!!!

here's a short little thing exploring gereon after returning from the war. hope you like!

He is supposed to be dead. 

Or at least, he is supposed to be missing. And Anno is supposed to be here in his place. 

He is lying flat on his back atop his bed in his family’s home and the war feels like an open wound in his chest. 

It has been three months since he returned. He cannot stop flinching at loud noises, and sometimes his hands shake so badly that he cannot hold onto anything at all. 

He wishes he could have at least returned strong. He would still be the wrong son, he would still feel everyone’s eyes on him whenever he leaves the house, but maybe, if he was stronger, his father would not hate him quite so much. 

As it is, though, Gereon is weak. He’s survived, yes, but he should not have. Perhaps this is his punishment, for being the one who returned. 

The torment does not let him sleep, most nights. Several times a week, he wakes up with a jolt, soaked in sweat and breathing heavily and terrified of things he never quite remembers. 

He sobs as quietly as he can. Not that anyone would come knocking if he was louder. But sometimes he wakes up screaming, and his father pounds angrily on the door. 

He wants to leave. Wants to return in time and stop himself from going to war. Be a better child, somehow, and earn his father’s adoration. 

He wants, quite often, to die. 

It should have been me. 

The words echo through his head every time he catches someone looking at him, in pity, in disgust, in concern. 

It should have been me. 

There is no reason that he should be here, and Anno should be trapped somewhere foreign, if he is even alive at all. 

Anno is the golden child, the prodigy, the pride of the family. God should have protected him. But it is Gereon who is here, and he does not deserve it. 

He prays for his brother’s return, for the nightmares and the terror to leave him, for people to look at him without seeing Anno’s ghost behind him. For the ability to look at himself without seeing Anno’s ghost behind him. 

He wants something that he does not know the name of, something that lurks in the back of his mind but never quite makes itself known. 

He drifts in and out of restless sleep and hopes uselessly for things to be different when he wakes.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla will undertake State Visits to France and Germany

The King and The Queen Consort’s first State Visit of the new reign, to France and Germany, will take place from Sunday 26th March to Friday 31st March 2023.

The visit will celebrate Britain’s relationship with France and Germany, marking our shared histories, culture and values. It will also provide an opportunity to look forwards and demonstrate the many ways the U.K. is working in partnership with France and Germany, whether that be to tackle climate change; respond to the conflict in Ukraine; seize trade and investment opportunities or share the best of our arts and culture.

As well as speaking to the strength of the U.K.’s bilateral relationships with France and Germany, Their Majesties’ visits will include engagements highlighting the importance of sustainability and community – key themes which have been embraced by citizens of all our countries. There will also be opportunities to reflect on the sacrifices and challenges of our shared past, out of which has come an enduring legacy of cooperation and reconciliation.

The State Visit Programme

Their Majesties will travel to France on Sunday 26th March until Wednesday 29th, undertaking engagements in Paris during that time and on Tuesday 28th, visiting Bordeaux. Highlights of their French programme will include:

The King and The Queen Consort will join President and Mrs. Macron for a ceremony of Remembrance and wreath laying at the Arc de Triomphe

His Majesty will address Senators and members of the National Assembly at the French Senate

Her Majesty, together with Mrs. Macron, will officially open the new Manet and Degas exhibition at the Musée d’Orsay; 

Their Majesties will be guests of honour at a State Banquet hosted by President and Mrs. Macron at the Chateau de Versailles

His Majesty will witness first-hand the devastation caused by last summer’s wildfires on the outskirts of Bordeaux, hearing from emergency workers and the local community about their experiences

Their Majesties will mark the opening of the British Consulate in Bordeaux and meet members of the local French and British communities;

The Royal couple will tour an organic vineyard, which has pioneered a sustainable approach to wine making.

Their Majesties will arrive in Berlin on Wednesday 29th March. On Thursday 30th, they will undertake engagements in Berlin and Brandenburg, before heading to Hamburg on Friday 31st March.

In Germany, highlights of their programme include:

A ceremonial welcome by President Steinmeier and Frau Büdenbender at the Brandenburg Gate

Their Majesties will be guests of honour at a State Banquet, hosted by the President and his wife at Schloss Bellevue

His Majesty will address the Bundestag, the German Federal Parliament

His Majesty will meet refugees recently arrived from Ukraine and hear about the support Germany provides for them

Her Majesty, accompanied by Frau Büdenbender, will visit the Komische Oper in Berlin, to learn more about the opera company’s outreach projects and community engagement

In Brandenburg, His Majesty will meet representatives from a joint German/U.K. military unit and see a demonstration of their bridge-building amphibious vehicles

In Hamburg, Their Majesties will visit the St. Nikolai Memorial, the remains of a church which was destroyed when the Allies bombed the city during the Second World War. His Majesty and the President will lay wreaths during a short ceremony of remembrance

His Majesty will learn more about the port of Hamburg’s adoption of green technologies, meeting representatives from some of the firms involved.

The King and The Queen Consort will attend a celebratory reception with Hamburg residents and members of the local British community, accompanied by the President and Frau Büdenbender, marking the end of their State Visit

i suffer from social anxiety but this year i decided to go to 3 different concerts alone (the lumineers in june, hozier yesterday and boygenius in august) and i managed to meet people and even exchange socials and it's just such a great feeling bc a few years ago i could have never imagined this

#probably helped that i spent 2 months in north america last year flew alone for the first time to visit friends and family that i never met #like compared to that a trip to berlin on your own is childs play
