The lack of a basic living wage where i can go and take me and a friend out to go eat at a restaurant or just go spend a few bucks to fuck around somewhere, without it crippling me financially, is bullshit, and i hate capitalism

Exactly 14 years ago today—on July 24, 2009—the minimum wage was set at $7.25 while top 1% were worth $5T. Today, billionaire wealth is $45T+, meanwhile the min wage is still $7.25. This is what generational wage theft looks like. Pay workers. Tax billionaires. #RaiseTheWage

Steve, Robin, and Jonathan for 8
#8: share a car with, share a bank account with, share a cake with
Car: Steve... I cannot legally drive a car and he needs to take me places so by share it I mean: we are constantly sharing a car ride. Not the physical car-- although I can be his mechanic so. In that way we are sharing the car as well.
Bank Account: I was going to say Jonathan but you know what??? ROBIN. She works! And she's in high school though so what expenses does she have?? We're both just stockpiling some cash and then we'll all just get an apt with Steve (see above bc of transportation: gays who can't drive. We love wlw and mlm solidarity thank you very much) and everything will be financially normal and fine. I would trust Robin with my hard-earned cash.
Cake: Jonathan... Honey, dearest, my beloved... We are getting so stoned and eating a cake together. No euphemisms. Just like. A grocery store bakery sheet cake. Chocolate cake, vanilla buttercream frosting. Bring your own fork.

'Nother dream journal
This one was much more mundane than the other ones I've had of late. It felt as though I was simply watching a movie, which is a very natural feeling for me when dreaming, as I dream in very filmic terms. I don't know anyone else that has been able to determine this, but I actually dream in 24 frames a second. This is the standard framerate at which movies and TV are shot and anything not shot at this speed looks VERY different. I think owing to how many movies and TV I watched at a formative age this has influenced how my subconscious views things. But I digress.
The dream began with a story that felt familiar, but definitely wasn't any one that I can recall actually existing. It was about a space ship that had to slowly make its way back to civilization, because the faster than light drive was damaged and it had to travel at non relativistic speeds. Some great disaster had happened, but nobody went into exactly what. It also meant that they had lost communications, the ship was in very poor shape and nearly all of the human crew had been killed.
The sole remaining human (who my brain decided had to be played by Mara Wilson, but when she was still a kid) could not actually survive the trip back because there was not nearly enough supplies. So she had to spend most of the time in cryo-stasis, and would only be woken if something happened that needed human intervention. Eventually this meant that while still having a childlike appearance she was in fact centuries old, and had a great deal more experience than most humans ever will. One of the ships robots even joked that once they got back to Earth, she might replace worker robots if they could clone her. She had the ability to pilot the ship, navigate star charts, manufacture replacement parts from scrap, debug programming issues, and all other manner of extremely useful skills.
There was no satisfying conclusion to this narrative, unfortunately. My mind eventually decided that it wanted to do something else, and then started showing me an altered version of Alien³. It was much the same as the movie originally was, but only to a point. I've not actually seen that movie all the way through. I watched it to about the halfway point, and then had to leave to do something else and so never saw the third act. Knowing its infamy and the fandoms low opinion of it however, the version that played out in my dream was a stilted, awkward, tropey mess. The largest change was that Charles Dance's character became the protagonist in this version, and understandably the tone was entirely different than any of movies in the series. It had stopped feeling like a horror movie and felt almost like it was one of the Micheal Bay Transformers movies.
In any case, I still didn't get to see how it ended, as I woke up before it could reach any conclusion.

White Americans: 72.7% -
Black Americans: 44% -
Asian Americans: 62.8% -

okay but where is the love for academic style writing as an emotional and creative outlet. as a form of expression. as a means of being understood. where. yes, i cope via poetry writing more often than i'd care to admit. but to this day the only people that appreciate my ability to crank out an earth shattering view shifting informative/persuasive toned research paper (10+ pages, 12pt font, double spaced, 5+ page bibliography) is offensively short. like two english/writing professors and my fiance. i'm furious right now. im pissed at the world. im seething. so im fleshing out a topic and slowly chiseling out a thesis. i have 18 researchgate tabs open. i need to be understood on a fundamentally factual and evidence based level so i will simply be writing out an incredibly complex and well composed formal research essay that i will be forcing people to read. this will take me at lest 2 weeks. no one can stop me. i have only gotten worse as i've aged.
