Being a manga artist can be difficult especially since so many across the world read his mangas and he has two fanboys living in the neighborhood. A good nap is what he needs.

He won’t often take naps, but if he feels like he’s done enough drawing he’ll most definitely join you.

well.

i know that for magnus the really obvious answer would be like “magic” and obviously that’s valid because he is fucking great at magic but. i can also see him being like, an iron man sorta hero? like obviously he is not tony stark and we’re not including the war crimes part here, but a kind of self-made hero who doesn’t have powers, but is a goddamn genius and turned himself into one? or maybe he does have magic and is a genius (like in canon lmaoo)

like some doctor strange stuff? ive actually never seen or read doctor strange or any media that features him all i know is that he’s played by the cucumber guy and can see alternate realities but there’s doctor in his name so i assume he’s smart. if he’s not ignore this. anyway magnus having magic (maybe just one specific kind instead of like, general magic like in the show? like idk he can open portals or something of the sort) and being super damn smart too and figuring out new technologies to defend himself and shit and creating new and great ways to mix his powers and that? that’s some good shit

as for alec. well again the obvious answer would be some sorta hawkeye shit which again is valid because i do think that archery, like, suits alec. it’s not just something he does in the show, i think it’s something that reflects his personality and talents - he likes to be a little behind so he has a greater view of the whole picture, so he can have the backs of the people he loves, so he can watch them and make sure they’re fine, so he can be their protector and also see everything with strategy and knowledge and help them. he’s kind of a playmaker you know (i don’t watch sports either but i watched high school musical and troy bolton made this metaphor so i have good sources here). and he’s level headed, precise, strategical, smart

but i can super see him being kind of a.... more like, background guy? like idk he’s the dude who stays in the ship and keeps an eye on everyone and kind of guides them. again the playmaker. kinda like nick fury i suppose, like he keeps the whole team together and lets them know of the big picture they obviously can’t see while they’re down there handling details, he coordinates them and keeps them on the loop and kind of designs their moves. again a strategist, you know? and that’s really cool

and welp i can’t help but think details here so i super like the idea that magnus is like, recruited later (possibly he had escaped his abusive father? and he learnt through that experience that cops are useless when people actually need them lmao, so he becomes this kind of vigilante who swoops in during violent encounters and tries to figure out ways to help the community? hmmm really like that). like there was already this group of superheroes who kind of handled big villains (like asmodeus himself mayhaps? hmmm much to think about. maybe he kinda becomes a villain after magnus escapes because he’s trying to get him back.... idk) and they take notice on magnus even if he’s very minor in the sense that he doesn’t really handle huge villains, his thing is more local cries for help and trying to improve the community life to prevent crime, you know

anyway because his efforts are clearly paying off he draws whoever’s responsible for recruiting the heroes’ attention (oooh let’s make that ragnor). and he kinda is doing his own thing but then he learns that they’re trying to take down asmodeus and ofc he feels responsible. also, well- his work was focused on empowering the communities, and now that they’re more organized they are doing fine on their own and taking care of themselves. plus he’s kinda hated by cops obviously so he is offered immunity. so he agrees

and then of course the first person he’s introduced to is alec because alec is kinda the brains of the whole thing and he’s just keeping magnus in the loop. but magnus is scared that everyone is going to judge/hate him because he’s asmodeus’ son and cue like, outsider angst. also i mean they’re all pretty... close? and magnus is the guy who just got here, so, you know

i mean obviously he makes his own friends, ragnor and cat and rapha, but they’re all kind of in the supporting team (maybe cat and rapha are responsible for like, keeping an eye out to know whenever there is a problem? and intelligence ofc. i’m kind of picturing that this runs parallel to official government stuff like the police, like no outside influence. but they get a nod because the cops themselves can’t handle the shit they do. idk). oh and ELIAS cuz im a sucker for elias (maybe he’s a legal advisor or handles external relationships or something? idk why but i can really see him being good at this). but anyway, ANYWAY, the point is that he’s not really close with the Mission Group, which sucks because it’s what he’s doing

but welp alec’s job is to keep them all in sync after all, and also he lowkey understands because he is part of the ops team but isn’t (even if obviously there are several layers to magnus’ situation that don’t apply to alec) and well alec is canonically like, sensible? when it comes to magnus, he pays attention when others don’t, that’s what drew magnus to him in the first place. so he kinda of nudges him into being closer to the rest of the team. like he knows izzy will be interested in magnus’ technology since she also works with that, so he makes sure to mention it, and he very subtly and smartly makes sure that magnus is a part of the conversation in no time, and it all flows very naturally and he’s just. sitting back watching magnus get along feeling proud of himself. and then magnus kind of turns to him and smiles and mouths thank you, don’t think i didn’t notice. and maybe winks. and poof there it is, the Talking To Magnus Smile

and well probably more drama before the “i’m asmodeus’ son” reveal, because he’s scared they will all hate him, but they are just like. “oh magnus, i’m so sorry you had to go through that, i can’t imagine what it’s like” and everyone supports him and it’s like Validation. and alec is all like “wow i will make sure personally that we end him forever” and adisdiaudha cute

also alec is super interested in the work magnus had been doing for crime prevention because he kind of thinks that having to fight villain after villain after villain when they never stop coming is. not a waste of time but kind of sisyphus’ work. and magnus tells him about it and also about all the shit he’s invented and about his magic and maybe even shows it to him and alec is just like :)!!!!!!!!

and it also feels good to have a team for once because he was always doing everything by himself feeling unbearably lonely and unimportant, like no one would miss the him that’s behind the mask and just like, when he’s hurt, they notice? and alec brings backup? and makes sure he’s okay? and he has people to watch his back? and it’s nice

i just :)) love magnus slowly becoming part of a community and making friends and being included and loved okay, and also helping them improve and being a valuable member and just being his amazing self? ugh we stan

and then idk they defeat asmodeus and everything, idk what they do to him lol but magnus probably joins the group and helps make some changes in their work so he can do something similar to his previous m.o, on a larger scale? and yeah :)

I finally finished Vincent's route today, picked the Dramatic ending... and it was a wild ride.

I don’t wanna get much in spoilers, I wanna talk more about my own experience playing it. Because I feel that I’ve been waiting for his route since day one? It was his route, Arthur’s, Comte’s and Vlad’s (after) the ones that I always look forward the most.

The start really surprised me cuz the tone of the narrative was different. Sure, there were a lot of details that tied well to the other routes, similarities, some rewriting, so I got really surprised that they decided to do it that way.

I agree that Leonardo, Mozart, Napoleon and Arthur had a formula, there was the same structure of narrative almost, with some really distinct differences in scenes, in dialogues and in the general feeling of the route. While Leonardo’s was that bittersweet route, Mozart and Napoleon were way sweeter than Leonardo’s. Arthur’s was... Arthur’s kkkk.

Nah, Arthur gets in the middle term, it was bittersweet but really sweet too.

But Vincent’s? Again, there are some elements of that formula that we already know, I admit, but it did feel different.

For instance, Vincent is really different from the other four, he is always bright, really calm, sweet and adorable, there are real moments when I went like “awwww” because I could not! He is so supportive, have so much empathy and cares so much about her, about her fears and feelings.

I had really nice moments with Arthur and Theo on that route, it gave me a new perspective about Theo’s character and now I feel like I know him so much better too! I mean, he frustrated me sometimes kkkk but it was interesting, cuz there was no way in knowing Vincent but not knowing Theo better.

Which thing that also surprised me was... it was really easy. MC and Vincent’s romance happened really smoothly, in a sense that even when it found hardships they had those absolutely and unmoving trust in one another... and it kinda happened too suddenly? I saw them bounding, I saw the romance and the feelings and all... but, still, they’re strangely solid, they didn’t have to go through an arc as a couple and everything felt effortless.

When I say effortless, I’m saying that they overcome everything really easily, they had some real obstacles and... well, they got really lucky.

We actually get some romance from the middle to the end, they basically started dating between episode 17-18 and we got to see them a little bit as a couple, that when the game wasn’t giving screen time to Shakespeare. Really, we get in Vincent’s route as much screen time with him as we had with Vincent.... and boi, isn’t that thrilling.

Shakespeare is... well...

I don’t wanna say more. He nearly traumatized me.

But, hear me out, if you like a cute and really slow burn romance, Vincent is your guy. Even when he is trying to be bold and seduce you in some way, he is really romantic doing it, really intense and adorable. I really enjoyed all the scenes with him, he is a loveable character and even in the moments where I disagreed with him, I understood where he was coming from with that.

Maybe he can be a really frustrating character to play with because he is so selfless, gentle and almost innocent in the things he does and believed, but in a certain way this is a relief because he is original, he brings so fresh air to the game and his route is really fun! I had a great time playing it.

If you want to know more about the canon of the game, you surely will have to play his route, if you want to get to know Theo, Arthur, and even Shakespeare better, you should play his route.

If you want a really sweet and easy romance you should go for his route. The end is... intense. It was like the end of any other route really, it was big, dramatic and such. It does felt huge when I played because it had so many things happening and it was so crazy... but the end makes up for everything. Even the dramatic ending... it was really good.

As always the art is gorgeous, his ilus are some of my favorites so far and it had the most adorable items ever in the game, I really loved all the outfits. I wish I could get more premium ones cuz those would surely be some of my favorites to dress up my character with.

In a final note: yep, I liked it, it was fun and sweet, it definitely worthed playing.

Museum of Mayhem Art Analysis

ahhh it’s finally here and it’s AWESOME. Lots of credit to @ifalnasminiatures for bringing this to my attention! Also credit to Hayder Hype for providing (nat zero six on gearbox forums) sources (Ashley Landry on twitter) in the description of his video because oh man it’s a lot

lots to talk about especially regarding the calypso twins so let us dive right in

tl;dr: tyreen has a weird red marking on her face in some old designs. i think troy used to be blind and missing his metal plates. more proof for my elpis/chemical sludge/lost legion theory that the twins are using said chemical sludge to give their followers psuedo-siren powers bc a dahl pumping station (hyperion pumping stations on pandora) but dahl had a presence on the moon

one of my favorites, it reminds me a lot of the Mask of Mayhem, but for villains.

Punk Girl is shown again twice, probably further proving she’s tied in with the CoV somehow

we also got some crazy looking villains such as

baby face. which is all kinds of extremely fucked up

this dude who looks like he could be a miniboss with the glasgow smile and the cool goggles

this guy who i legitimately thought was dr zed for a hot second there

could it be

the evilest brother?? pfft nahhh

this girl who seems like she could be a unique character with a baseball cap. wondering if maybe she’s related to Punk Girl in any way. What’s the verdict on the other band members? 🤔

uhh let’s give it a solid maybe and move on

this piece! very interesting to me

so, the very first thing i noticed is zane’s eye patch being on the other eye lol

amara’s tattoos are also gone, however that might’ve been for reasons similar to the japanese cover art of the game.

most interestingly is a point @ifalnasminiatures made and it’s that the calypso twins are actually palette swapped! you can see Troy is the one with the white hair and Ty is the one with the darker hair. which I think mayyy play into a few things we see later about the twins

we also see a tiny ship in the background. i can’t tell if that’s sanctuary-iii or the blue/yellow ship, it all blends together a lot due to the quality of the pic. but it is next to the calypso twins, which makes me want to believe it’s the blue/yellow ship we see with red markings all over it. you know this one from the mural of mayhem wallpapers

she might be a unique character given the clothes/hair? cuz you don’t normally see psychos with stilettos on. or yknow, shoes in general. the hair also seems way to clean and neat to be a psycho/cultist

i just feel uncomfortable looking at this, so moving on

a different logo. also not my favorite cover art, but at least im not physically uncomfortable looking at this. that poor girl’s pelvis... anyway

interestingly, i feel like the roses might have been a thing they just put in for the new cover art. haven’t seen hide nor hair of them across any of the pictures i’ve seen.

we got a lot of figures. out of them i most definitely recognized amara, salvador, maya, another salvador?, zer0, moze (maybe?), and axton. i thiiink one of them is maya as well, but im not 100% on that.

i can guess why they didn’t pick this one: it’s hard to tell who’s who. a lot of these poses make the silhouettes kinda hard to see and the merging together at the bottom makes things even worse. i do think it’s interesting there are some bl2 characters on here as well, but hayder hype mentioned they very well could be placeholders, and given that i can’t make out fl4k or zane, im inclined to believe him.

there’s a new red planet which hasn’t been shown off before, looks like a gassy planet kinda like jupiter, but interestingly it has this green crack in the side?

very reminiscent of pandora’s eridium scar. i am wondering if this is because this planet had a vault opened, or if it is tied to the Eridians at all. be interesting if it was their homeworld.

also i have no idea what the symbolism is in the homeworld destroying another planet but maybe we shouldn’t think about it too hard e_e

tbh, i thought this was elpis the first time i saw it due to the cracks, but i figured elpis doesn’t have like continents across its surface, just craters. and wayyy more cracks.

so it’s probably not pandora and it’s probably not elpis.

i do think the actual shot is suspended above promethea, you can see the familiar asteroid belt surrounding it

there’s also a planet in the background,

which i imagine isn’t pandora bc no eridian scar

could be elpis or eden-6, or the 5th planet we don’t know about. i kinda get the feeling the 5th planet may be that gaseous red planet tho. which is probably going to be super weird to traverse now that i think about it. they said oz kits weren’t coming back, right? i wonder how that would work. hmmmm

there’s also this redder planet here which i actually DO think is Pandora. if you squint real hard u can see the purple from the eridian scar. plus the color matches up pretty well with the pictures provided above.

there’s also these two bodies over in the corner where the light is coming from. i can’t tell what they’re supposed to be

there are also these little dudes in the top right

i assume they’re maliwan? they remind me a lot of the maliwan drop ship things that fly overhead when you enter promethea

YESSS okay this is the start of some PRETTY WILD twin stuff

troy: missing his tattoos, blind in one eye, has a weird mark above his eyebrow. also, no metal bits!

Tyreen!!! with a red stripe across her left cheek going up to her eye??? no tattoos on her left arm as far as we can see, but that might be for marketing reasons (she’s also covering up part of her bicep). she’s also missing her coat and chains and wearing a different glove.

we also have a bunch of bl2 VHs taking up space. again i think hayder hype is right in that they’re simply placeholders. not much else to say, but

this trend of Tyreen having red markings on her face and Troy being blind in an eye (or both) actually continues through a fair amount of these posters!!!

more cover art. one of my least favorites again... i just think it looks like the psycho is puking out the VHs. also, seems to be an older version of the psycho mask.

fl4k seems to be less rendered than the rest of the cast? like they have less detail, especially on their coat

also you can see an older looking space shuttle up at the top, which reminds me a lot of the one we use in TFTBL to get to helios. except less caravanny and more rockety

the splatter also reminds me of siren powers, with the purple and the glitter. it’s cool that it’s showing a different shot than what’s behind it. maybe a hint to siren powers because it’s sort of like a portal.

this time troy is blind in both eyes it seems,

tyreen seems to still have a mark on the left side of her face, im wondering if this ties into her scars at all? it doesn’t seem as prominent as the previous red mark.

Zane seems to have an actual eye patch instead of his more high-tech eye patch, which reminds me a lot of the leaked character concepts from like january i wanna say

amara seems to be dual wielding lol i wonder if originally that was going to be one of her 3 skills but then they were like “wait salvador. wait. nisha. FUC-”

also fl4k is being obscured by this weird saturn-like planet. let them be free!

moze is missing, the saturn like planet shows up 2 times total, and that blue/yellow ship is seen again behind troy

as for the purple stuff? you already know my theory that the twins are going to be using the chemical sludge on elpis to empower their followers. it could also just be straight eridium/slag. you know, like the testing from the WEP with bloodwing and even krieg. we’ll have to see. it would be interesting if they tied krieg into the story through there.

i do lowkey think it’s chemical sludge though, because some of it is actually glowing blue in places, you can see it clearly below amara’s feet. maybe some tie in to siren powers cuz they glow the same blueish color. who knoooows not i

big shot of this psycho here, looks like he’s crumbling.

i really like the 4 VHs standing at the base with the elongated shadows. very dark vibes from this tho, probably not suitable for the series as a whole. i can see why maybe they decided not to do it.

i wonder if we’ll see this giant psycho statue somewhere on pandora. it would certainly be a sight to behold.

also i kinda wish we had cloaks like the concept art shows. cloaks are cool

more sketchy art. this one is also kinda strange, i definitely get why they decided not to go thru with it.

very bl2 like, im glad they didn’t stick with this. i like that they decided to change things up

troy seems to be blind and also missing his metal implants on his face. his jacket also looks a lot different, it looks more like tyreen’s with the spikes and stuff across it. we also can’t see his metal arm at all, tho we do see his sword! which looks a lot different, im glad they decided to revamp it to be more visually interesting lol

tyreen is more interesting to me. it looks like her right arm has like a silver coating over it? unless that is a metal arm as well. she also is wearing a different kind of glove. her tattoos are missing as well, but again, it’s probably because of the cover art. her scars also definitely seem to have reached her left cheek at some point.

zane also looks a lot different, tho amara, moze, and fl4k look about the same.

another shot of the ship, this one is definitely the blue/yellow one. there’s gotta be some significance with that, right? either we’re getting skins for sanc-iii, we’re going to be painting it a new color, or it’s a different ship.

one of my favorite ones out of all of them. it’s beautiful, i really wish they had kept it. Fl4k is missing but i assume they were meant to go next to Amara? i also think it’s interesting Moze is in the front, as I took Amara to be the leader this time around. Zane is also an older design, with the eyepatch back on his left eye again (starting to think this is an aesthetic thing lol) and a black jacket instead of blue.

We see the twins on the top. Tyreen has that mark on her face again, and Troy is the same as the last few covers.

We also see Maya, Zer0, and for some reason Brick? Which is weird to me considering we have a few other characters who initially feel much for important to the story (cough Lilith cough), but I’m not complaining.

the purple splatters again make me think this is a tie in to eridium/slag/elpis’s chemical sludge. i also like the logo being worked into the design instead of just thrown on top, i think that’s a nice detail

we also get a much cooler, bigger version of that maliwan ship people were talking about, with what look to be maliwan... eye bots? surrounding it. this is soooo fuckin awesome to me because it reminds me of a sailboat. and airships are fucking COOL

MTH - The Rowdy Bros (part 1)

For a certain anon~

An analysis on the Boys' relationship(s) and dynamics with each other. Part 1 covers chapters 1-3. How the Boys were introduced to us throughout chapter 1 is significant, both in the techniques Sbj chose to use and what was revealed to us. Chapter 2 and 3 also have very important scenes related to the Boys' relationships to each other. Namely, Brick's reaction to Boomer liking Bubbles, and Butch's disobedience and the subsequent aftermath of that. A lot of this part ended up being more about Boomer, cuz I talk a lot about Brick and Butch in general, and I feel like in these scenes, Brick and Butch are the easiest to read.

I decided to analyze the most revealing scenes of their interactions in chronological order. Sbj revealed their dynamics to us over time, giving little bits of info here and there, and dropping occasional bombs to unpack. So I kinda wanted to honor that and dissect the meanings behind interactions as they came, rather than making a couple of thesis statements and picking bits of evidence from different scenes. It may end up making this whole thing confusing and scattered, so I apologize in advance. Cohesive thought is not my forte.

From early on, Sbj establishes the Boys' (and Girls') interactions as siblings, and how they are similar to and different from their counterparts. In chapter 1 especially, she uses moments of direct juxtapositions - 2 scenes back-to-back, with mirrored conversations and actions, 1 with the Girls and 1 with the Boys. One example, when Bubbles and Boomer each announce to their siblings that they got invitations to Princess' party. Butch and Buttercup bring the topic of the "hot boys list" up, having just discovered its existence, Brick and Blossom didn't know theres a list, and Boomer and Bubbles say "the list was updated?" These scenes also serve to compare and contrast the relationships between the sibling sets. The boys tend to be tougher on each other and they snipe and put each other down more than the Girls, Brick and Butch especially (not that that's a surprise). In the passage below (from the same scene), where Blossom is a bit embarrassed and tries to placate her sibling (over assuming Bubbles couldnt get them invites), Brick is sarcastic and derisive towards his. But in this, we also see some of Boomer in his relationship with his brothers, that I'd like to delve into a bit. Aside from it not being a big deal to him, I think he expects their nonplussed reactions in a way that allows him to mostly ignore their criticism and lack of enthusiasm. Not in all areas, but in social and music related things, he knows not to expect anything positive from them. (In this scene there's not much to analyze from Brick, other than what we already know, and while Butch's envy/issue with not being the best/good enough is addressable, I did so already in another post. I'll link it in my reblog in case anyone wants it)

In that same chapter, Boomer plays with No Neck Joe in the Battle of the Bands, and from his brothers' reactions, we know that they were invited but that he didn't tell them he would be performing. They are caught unawares - Butch is surprised and bursts out laughing, and Brick is mortified - and we know Boomer dragged them there. I think this goes back to the fact that he knows not to expect genuine support from them, and he doesn't get his hopes up. But at the same time, he seems to want them to be present. I feel either it's cuz even if they're not proud of him in any sense, he still likes when they come and likes to share things that make him happy, or he enjoys catching them off guard and surprising them, particularly Brick. I think it's both, since later on, we also see this side of him when he first starts to like Bubbles and tells Brick and Butch. He tells them literally the same night, cuz he can't contain it (I mean, later, he was apparently chatting about his crush on Bubbles nonstop to whoever was in hearing range at school). He tries to get them to guess who it is, playfully tries to get them to drag the surprise out of him, and when they don't take the bait, he mutters it in a quick and quiet way that he knows will catch attention. He knows Brick will be mad about it, and seems to get a level of enjoyment out of that, while minimizing damage by playing it off as a passing adolescent phase. But even while saying that, he's doodling hearts on her shoe ad, smiling to himself, and generally just soaking in the giddy happiness hes feeling. I think he's the type of person who has to share his joy and happiness with others, even if they aren't responsive or engaged with him in it, and that doesn't faze him. This evidence from chapter 2 leads us into the 2nd and 3rd chapters' sibling dynamics.

In the same scene where Boomer tells the Boys that he likes Bubbles, we get a pretty good glimpse into the relationship between Brick and Boomer (as well as their relationship with Butch). Brick is very much the big brother, but also like a slightly more casual drill sergeant. He talks about "protocol" and even tries to control Boomer's feelings. He doesn't trust Boomer or Butch, but for different reasons. He doesn't trust Butch to not impulsively fuck shit up and cause trouble, but when it comes to romance he's confident that Butch is just a horny teen who won't be swayed in any meaningful way. He doesn't trust Boomer with his emotions and tendency to get attached. I think in some ways that's why he seems to think of Boomer as the "runt". As someone with an excessively analytical and empirical mind (and a sore lack of emotional intelligence), he doesn't understand how Boomer can get swept up in his emotions, and sees it as weakness. With Butch, he sees a weakness in impulse control, but I think he interprets that as more wilfull, and due to a lack of discipline, rather than being "soft".

Butch also criticizes Boomer in his taste in crushes, preferring physical attributes and sexual attraction over any other qualities or types of attraction. But Butch's criticism of Boomer, in this case and at the Battle of the Bands, is largely teasing in a joking manner, laughing at Boomer as a sibling would. After the incident between Will and Boomer in Chapter 2, Boomer apologizes for going after Bubbles and attacking Will. An exchange that is heavily implied to be the direct result of Brick’s orders. He doesn’t even stick around to watch, cuz he knows Boomer will reluctantly obey him. Again, we see how Brick is more like a parent-commanding officer combo, than a sibling. Some of Brick's reactions can also be read as sibling-like, but it’s often in the sense that he sees Boomer as an embarrassment. He literally says so at Princess' party, and is mortified at the show. In the above passage, Boomer says, "you like to think you know me and Butch...", which tells me that Butch and Boomer are probly closer than Brick is to either of them. We see this later as well, Boomer is more likely to hang out with Butch and his friends, more likely to smoke with him, understands his habits when he's bored out of his mind, is more likely to talk to Butch (while Brick ignores or scoffs at him half the time). In the end, Brick tells Boomer that he'll trust him with his crush on Bubbles, but warns him not to disappoint. It's such a strange way of interacting if you think of them as normal brothers, cuz average brothers arent controlling to that degree. "I'm choosing to trust you (to have a crush, instead of forcibly keeping you away from her). Don't disappoint me (by really liking a girl and having strong feelings for her)".

Later in this same chapter, we see what happens when Brick is seriously "disappointed". We see his explosive rage, his excessively violent reprimands, his temporary lapse in calculated judgement. In that moment, it's Boomer who stops him, reminding him, "there's an audience and everything", bringing him back to his senses to calm down just enough to leave. During this scene, Boomer is by far the most calm, although emotionally detached, resigned, and guarded is probably the more accurate description. Later, after they get home, Boomer is mostly his normal self again and chides Butch for making a dumb decision and getting himself fucked up. Idk why but it reminds me of that trope with the older brother/dad who gets into trouble, and the younger brother/son who cleans his wounds and stitches him back up, who is forced to be the adult in that moment, who quietly fusses over how bad it is this time. Butch sends him to get meds from his drug supply to help with the pain. Brick appears, and starts yelling at Butch for his inability to listen and his insubordination. Boomer returns, unfazed by the yelling, and tries to deflect the tension a bit with a joke. When it doesn't work and Brick tells Boomer to remind Butch what he told them at the beginning of the year, Boomer replies in a bored, detached tone. Later, he takes on a demeanor, similar to those previous 2 scenes, with Bubbles and Blossom in the hall waiting for the verdict from Principal Keane (though to a lesser degree) - he's a bit closed off, an insincere smile on his face, detached and looking at the floor. I think he's adopted this reaction as a coping mechanism. He feels things deeply, gets attached quickly, and he's probably had to bear witness to similar scenes with Brick and Butch a number of times over the years. He can't control what Brick does, so he detaches himself from the situation to cope with the emotional stress.

Back when Brick let go of Butch and said he hoped it was worth it, Butch grinned and replied that it always is. And while it's fucked up, I think he did so for a couple reasons. He was satisfied with the fight with Buttercup, he was being a cheeky bastard, and I think he feels a sense of freedom in defying orders regardless of consequences, and he maybe even finds it funny that Brick thinks his punishments are enough of a deterrent. Brick is the abusive parent-sibling, and it has different effects on Boomer and Butch. Boomer resigns himself to detachment and emotional distance, while Butch just makes sure his disobedience is satisfying enough to make the punishments worth it.

In chapter 3, after Brick's dance-inspired painting goes so well, we see some more of their interactions. Specifically, a bored Butch pesters an annoyed Boomer for entertainment (typical sibling stuff), and Brick busts through the front door, grabbing Butch. Butch assumes that he's super pissed off, but Brick smiles, thanks him, and let's him off his punishment a week early. This interaction is so confusing and alarming to Butch that he freezes on the spot and ends up shuddering on the floor after Brick leaves. What this tells us is 1) Brick's punishments and reactions to disobedience are much more steeped in emotion than he'd like to admit and 2) even Butch and Boomer don't see him smiling and outwardly showing joy much, if ever.

The rest of this chapter we also get a glimpse into some other relationship dynamics, though shorter in interaction time. Brick doesn't share his stuff. He gets the Coil, and immediately flings his brothers aside as they try to claim shotgun. Literally. Its soon after that the Girls get the hotline call about mama monster, and Butch and Boomer tag along. In a subsequent exchange between Butch and Blossom, he tells her that even though she's attractive, she's not his leader and he won't listen to her. Butch obviously has issues with authority in general, but this stood out to me. It’s unique and gives us a hint about relationship dynamics that are addressed more fully in subsequent chapters. But I’m gonna put a pin in this thought, as SBJ did, and bring this scene up again later.

TL;DR in chap 1-3, they’re def siblings and some of their interactions reflect that, but when Brick perceives that Butch or Boomer may step out of line (or they actually do), the stuff that makes them different from most siblings really comes out of the woodwork. We know obviously that Brick is an authoritarian dick of a leader, cuz it's Brick. But we also see the ways that has impacted Boomer and Butch as individuals. Boomer’s natural personality seems to be one where he needs to share things that make him happy. With his brothers, he's adapted his behavior, like opting to invite them to things last minute or without all of the info, so they’e less likely to turn him down. He navigates around touchy things, and tries to disperse tension. When Brick is being particularly abusive, he more or less shuts down and detaches emotionally. Butch on the other hand, doesn't try to find ways around the issue, he just makes sure that whatever he's doing wrong is extreme enough to reap maximum (temporary) rewards before the consequences hit.

here we go lol i can answer this one cuz when i have a fave rave it’s rare and like, easier to remember cuz i do not Go Hard about it that often.....weirdly for the first few years of The Decade i did’t really have such certain faves.....i was def enjoying some characters, as i always do, but nothing like super standout. then in ‘11 or ‘12 or whatever i was like oh hey, ed from cowboybeboy.......and then just had like, the solo experience of me humoring myself w/ that. bit of an usual one b/c a lot of the characters i Really latch on to will tend to be kinda roughly similar in ways that maybe seem pretty at-first-glance levels of obvious, buuut idk she’s not That far off from my usual selections i guess lol. anyways then in 2014 i was like, time to go ham for lars. what a valuable time it was....what Fun we had.....truly tho! and then another interval later it’s 2016 and for similarly (relatable characters of roughly the same cut) i was like, well here i am having a great time re: kip, all while getting to generously use of my fave shade of blue and fangs central and all that fun stuff. and then another interval later the Eventual Unfolding of what started innn 2017 i guess occurs, and it’s late 2018, and i’m like, time to look into Jared Kleinman b/c just from reading the wikipedia summary that didn’t mention him all that much i could tell this was probably a character i’d go ham for for predictable reasons, and the vague interest in that has stuck with me for the past little-over-a-year......and then i was Completely right lol. deh? well that’s just Bonus Jared Lore, to me (though of course alana in her own right is a great and similarly underappreciated character. rights)....and then of course i’ve had a lot of fun with pretty much each and every Wrol Role lmao.......Very fond of jeremy, and also christine, and bmc just has really enjoyable and interesting characters all over the place. and of course, here i am, Extremely #about winston quantbillions as another certified fave rave, really. call it classic!!!

35)a random memory you remember with strange clarity?

tough one because lol a fair amount of “you recorded this memory in a fair amount of detail” is due to increased levels of unpleasantness / stress / discomfort, and if it’s also “i remember this b/c it was Nice” then i wouldn’t call that Strange clarity lol, and Random Memory like “just pull one up from the ol memory bank” is like, god, i wish it were that simple........but give me a min.

oh yeah i had a High Time of it when pokemon go came out (only pokemonn game i have ever played lol) coz there was like, this stretch of Landmarks stops that started at this garden and went along this waterfront / connected park forrr maybe like a half mile stretch? ideal territory and people would actually like, come from out of town to partake in it lol. and i’d Download podcast eps on my phone from my work’s wifi and just like, in the evening listen to that or music and just like, walk and do this shit. i had like five or six gyaradoses at one point cuz i guess the riverside nature of it meant they wanted to throw all these magikarp at you (there Were carp, also! one of the parks had a koi pond.) and like, there were just all these people around doing it along with you, even that late at night and in the early AM hours, so it was fairly social even if u weren’t there with a group or talking with anyone (though there was Camaraderie like, oh hey just so you guys know, there is a ____ over by the boat.) and it was just an interesting Walk with several things to look at and routes to take. and one time in a weird Dead Of Night time like 1am there was this like, smallish cruise ship docked that actually Set Off. and like, a bunch of us randos were just standing there and watching this unfold. this isn’t a very good Clear Random Memory but if i tried to think of a good one, god only knows how long it’d take me lol

oh jeez this has really been a decade with lots of the unfortunate combo of “stuff that is a bummer but also boring” lol.......a benefit of getting to spend more time than not Away From The Parents’ House was like, oh sweet, having this perspective for long enough finally leads me to the conclusion of why i hate this......B/c It Is Bad. oh yeah and then there was also conclusively figuring out early in the decade like oh right, i’m trans, that makes sense.......other layers of Gayassedness like oh, more specifically i’m nonbinary, oh yeah and like, i’m not straight, call that queer and/or bi and/or also Gay......bein grey ace like a champ, and aromantic like, oh yeah i’m not like, fucking up at being a person somehow and Letting People Down by not wanting to date them (i mean besides rando cishet men. they can be let down regardless).....and just like, this ongoing process of getting the space to b figuring out myself and what i like For myself in alll kinds of ways....even up till now with the “oh yeah ive been a theatre gay all my life lmaooo” bit that’s like, totally obvious but just like, i didn’t much have the reason to even look at the would-be obvious stuff from the right perspex till now. and it’s pretty fun to realize a Lifelong Area Of Big Interest like that, cuz those sorts of things can feel elusive. and then also unfortunately a lot of the decade has involved like, “oh my self-esteem is so fucked that it’s circling back around and i’m appreciating and valuing myself and that i deserve decent treatment and Not bad shit,” which was a crappy process obviously lol but it was nice when i did start to get there, and making further progress on that front. im not dead certain when i was like “hmm...am autistic” b/c that was definitely a really ongoing process of figuring that out lol, but when / as i did it’s definitely a series of “oh hahaha this is why i’m like This or why i do This or feel like This about This!!” and it’s really easy to learn a totally Brand New Thing all the time abt bein autistic where it’s like Oh #Me!! coz yknow. the info By and For autistic ppl is not always widely available and known of. love that for us

remember when i said i wanted to write more diary-ish posts in this blog to improve my communication skills? heh. i’m absolutely terrible at keeping to resolutions, as it turns out. but we’re gonna improve that. new resolution: improve at keeping at resolutions. starting now. so here we are. writing. probably one day i should start like a blog, maybe not tumblr because it doesn’t seem like the right medium for it, but like just a straight up actual diary, to collect my daily thoughts and preserve them for future me to laugh at. i used to have an old blog and like when i dug it up it was hilarious. deleted it though because one time i got paranoid about being spied on by hackers and blogger staff.

there’s quite a lot of stuff i’m going through right now that i don’t really want to straight up talk about, cuz like, y’know, it’s like there’s a very thin lid over the bubbling pressure, and if i just lift that lid everything’s going to come pouring out, which is not really something i want to be dealing with. this (and next) week are my designated sort-of relax weeks, and i don’t want to spoil my mood. so let’s talk about something else.

there’s actually been like several topics that have been running through my mind lately but i’ve been putting off expounding on them because of school so now they’re all collected and i don’t really know which one to start off with, or if anyone even cares to know, or why in the heck i developed entire trains of thought around such inconsequential bullshit in the first place. anyway, let’s just have the least controversial topic.

pewdiepie! LMAO. “how is this the least controversial thing you have to talk about?!” believe me, it is. it’s not about the recent tragedy or defending him or putting him down, really. it’s just - well, he says a few times in his videos he doesn’t understand how the heck he got to no. 1 (no. 2 now technically T series passed him a while, but, y’know, whatever, he’s the no. 1 individual channel) and that kinda got me thinking as well, like, yeah, why am i watching his channel? it’s actually a bit sad to me because no one else i know is a huge poods fan so like there’s nobody else to discuss the videos with, which is strange considering the 94mil subs. the people that i *do* know who are into youtube are mostly into markiplier or cryaotic (can’t spell his name right) or jacksepticeye. so like even though, lol, i’m technically in the bigger fanbase, i don’t have anyone else to talk about it to? and so that makes me wonder like, yes, why am i specifically drawn to pewdiepie? what’s the particular appeal that made me sub to him and not the others? because i have watched the others, but somehow i always end up coming back to pewds’ channel.

the reason i’ve come up with is that....pewds is just more relatable, to me, personally. feel like i gotta say this at this point because on the internet people are liable to take you out of context or whatever: i’m not by any means saying that this is the recipe for success or that anyone should change their video style and it’s certainly not a critique of other youtubers - they’re all great in their own ways - i’m just saying, personally, what i like. he just feels more - more of like, a real person? to me? i don’t know how to explain this. it’s like, when i watch his videos, it just feels like y’know, if i met him we could be really good friends, sit down and have a sandwich together and chat about inane stuff, whereas the other youtubers feel more like.....movie stars? i guess that is what i’d call it? like more unreachable, more distant. like if you met them you couldn’t just chill and shoot the shit, you’d have to catch a glimpse while they walk past being swarmed by a whole bunch of bodyguards.

cry is easier to explain, so i’ll just go with him first. he doesn’t show his face. LOL. i’m not saying he should, god knows if i ever got on youtube the last thing i’d show is my face, but like when watching the lets plays, i prefer felix’s over cry’s because y’know, i can see him. i can see that there’s a real dude there, sharing the experience and reacting along with me. and that makes it feel more comfy, somehow. also cry’s voice is like, the hot-guy voice. which is liable to get you throngs of screaming fangirls, but to me, it just makes him feel more - far away. like the kind of super-cool person that never makes a fool of themselves. which is not a person i can be friends with, because i’d feel intimidated by their perfection xD so yeah, pewds >> cry, because he feels friendlier and more relatable.

markiplier is the really popular one amongst the people i know and i guess why i prefer pewds to him is harder for me to explain because he does show his face and doesn’t have a sexy voice so what’s the problem? idk, i feel like mark....is too intellectual for me xD “but fal, pewds literally just reviewed the fucking republic!” “also, are you saying you like pewds cuz he’s dumb?!” no, it’s not - it’s the difference between highbrow and lowbrow intellectual, y’know? not that i’m saying mark is a snooty stuck up stick in the ass, but - just the difference in the way they talk, like.....literature professor vs thug notes, which is a really great series that i also highly recommend. like, felix understands, but he doesn’t speak fancy, which is also a thing that i appreciate. again, i’m not saying everyone should change their way of speaking, like, formal highbrow intellectual is also great and some people like that, evidently, but just, personally, again, pewds is easier to relate to because he talks simply. it really makes it feel like you’re just chillin’ with a pal when you’re watching his videos. even though you can’t technically respond. but that’s okay. it’s like companionable silence xD whereas for me watching mark is like watching a very - scripted production, or like just listening to someone too smart for me, which is just like, “yeah, okay, i’m gonna feel self-conscious if i try to talk to you”. i mean, the dude actually analysed the gameplay of freakin’ getting over it xD which is like, woah, you care about the physics of this thing?? whereas pewds just.....well.

i think, probably, i am by no means a psychologist or psychiatrist, nor do i wholly believe in the veracity of the mbti, but i feel also like one of the things that draws me to pewds, especially now, is that i think, i think, we have quite similar personalities. i watched his mbti video, and before he was even halfway done i already knew he was going to get ISTJ because like our thought processes are so similar. (except i’m a little more reserved than him, obviously, hence the lack of a youtube channel) again, mbti isn’t like the most - accurate thing in the universe, but throughout all his other videos (and there are a lot) i feel like we have a lot in common. let me try to explain it in coherent terms. there’s the - pigheaded stubbornness - i think the getting over it playlist sums it up pretty well xD and like the uh, while we have a brain, we tend not to use it generally when solving problems, instead opting to just power through it, (again, the getting over it playlist) instead of analysing why the fuck we went wrong, just try to bulldoze the problem xDD and then there’s the urge to keep up the “everything’s fine” face. yeah, i know he did a video about forced positivity and said he’s not faking it anymore, but that’s a different thing, i’m not talking about faking happiness, i’m talking about - well, not exactly faking, but just sort of like - you just don’t want to admit to the actual extent of your feelings, and feel uncomfortable using, idk, is there a term for it? i’m gonna coin one - “emotion-centric” language. like, you never hear him say stuff like “i need to take a mental health day” or something like that, like the kind of “just using that language makes me feel weak and vulnerable and i don’t like that” kind of feeling - don’t take this as truth, by the way, that’s just the vibe i get, i could be projecting, because that’s an issue i have. i’m just gonna - leave it at that because i’m worried the more i talk the more bullshit it’s going to be and it’s just going to be me projecting my issues onto him and it’s not actually true and then people will take it all out of context and run weird articles - lmao.

anyway. this post went on for wayyy longer than i thought it would and there’s other stuff i wanna talk about too so let’s wrap this up. pewds, if you scroll the tag and find this, i - well, i honestly have no idea what to say xD. tell me if i got shit wrong, i guess, and if you’re ever in singapore or i’m ever in brighton let’s grab a macs and chill i guess? xDDD i also want to pet the pugs, they’re so cute.

Honestly Not Well. I don’t think a lot of myself. Like I think I’m smart and decently funny and like kinda attractive but I have no motivation and no marketable skills and no confidence. So basically as someone who is kinda Lost currently

From what I’ve gathered, better than I do myself. People seem to think I’m funny and like a good dude to be around. Also people come onto me a lot so potentially I’m Hot? Needs more research

I’m currently avoiding TV shows because if I start one I’ll HAVE to finish it asap and I can’t handle that kinda restriction on what I can watch (I’ll get around to it) but the most recent one I binged was The Haunting Of Hill House which is phenomenal please watch it

Wake up, turn off my alarm, wake up again approximately 3-5 minutes before the start of my first class, sit up slowly cursing heavily, pull on the same pants from last night cuz my belt and wallet are still in them, throw on a sweater, brush my teeth/deodorize, put on walking music, walk to class and prepare an excuse

Currently not any one person specifically but most of my Theatre Friends have been Super Busy with a show for the past like 2 months straight so I haven’t seen any of them outside of class and I really miss them but the show has Ended so I’ll be seeing them more now

Last week my friend asked me if I’d removed a box of old dumplings from my car that’d been there since mid January (I had not) and I burst into tears

Probably the time me n my friends drove out to a Haunted Bridge in the middle of the night to “find a ghost” and we didn’t find anything but i was terrified the whole time anyways. The First Day (Boku no hero Academia au part 3)

Hello everyone, Mr.E here, still very much writing. haha sorry for not updating, I’ve been pretty busy and honestly kinda wanderlust in terms of what I want to write but here we are with the next chapter of my hero academia au for star vs.

So i wanted to do my own version of the first day of school and i felt like this was the best way. Since I kept writing and stopping cuz life kept making me deal with it, it feels a little off to me. Probably not my best work but i Hope you get some enjoyment out of it all the same.

So some notes Bold mean the standard Adult Marco flashback in the vein of Adult Deku telling his story similar to the show and bold and italics is a new thing i tried to keep with the spirit of the anime and that is someone quickly explaining someone’s quirk. I felt it was a fun nod to the anime and in case You are wondering who is present Mic in this au, it’s Ruberiot because of course it is.

I remember the first day of school well. How could I forget the uncontrolled joy, the sheer exhilaration of seeing that wonderful building with the knowledge I had finally made it. My determination, my drive, my unwillingness to give up and live a mundane, boring life to be the hero I always dreamed of. The hero I always hoped I could be.

Of course it was on that day I realized how far I had to go. I swear I can still feel the aches in my bones and muscles just thinking about that day....

Marco could feel his body trembling with excitement as he passed through the school security gate.

His first day at UA high.

“How...terrifying” Marco muttered to himself, letting out a tense sigh “Okay Marco, you got this! You proved you deserve to be here! YOU ARE A HERO!”

Marco flushed as dozens upon dozens of eyes fell on him, a mixture of emotions in their gazes but all the young teen felt was embarrassment.

Marco rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly as the crowd's attention shifted elsewhere.

“I really gotta learn to control myself” Marco murmured awkwardly.

“Why?” A familiar voice answered “I think it be good for you to stop overthinking and relax for once in your life.”

Marco's face burned as a pair of arms fondly wrapped themselves around him though his body tiled unsteadily from the added weight.

Marco flailed, his arms reaching for anything but there was nothing within reach and he began to stumble.

“Whoa there” there was a soft fluttering of wings, a pair of gentle hands steadying him while the person backed away from the panicking Marco.

Marco let out yet another tense sigh. There was a brief thought that wondered how often did he perform the gesture but the train of thought was derailed as Star Butterfly hovered into view, a small yet soft smile gracing her face as she waved hello.

“Morning Marco!” Star beamed

“Morning Star” Marco greeted in return while the blonde haired girl planted her feet back onto the ground “ you really shouldn't sneak up on people....”

“and you shouldn't stand in the middle of the road muttering to yourself” Star countered with a smirk “But we're going to do what we're going to do.”

Marco scratched his cheek “Yeah...sorry.....I'm not used to...”

“People sneaking up on you?” Star offered as the pair continued their trek to class

“Friends hugging me.....” Marc whispered timidly

Marco blinked in surprised: Star let out an insanely cute coo before wrapping an arm around his neck and drawing him in close.

Star grinned happily at him “Get used to it buddy, I'm a hugger”

Marco chuckled softly, trying to ignore the racing of his heart “I would've never guessed.”

Star gasped mockingly “What? No way! You're more wrapped up in your head than I thought.”

Marco snickered “Cool it Butterfly just because you're my best friend doesn't mean you can get away with anything you want.”

Marco strolled into the room unaware that Star had released her grip on him and was standing in the hallway, completely dumbfounded by his words.

“Best friend?” Star muttered before letting a joyful “YES!” and pumping a fist into the air.

Marco shook his head as he slid open the classroom door, Star was just too endearing and cute....

“Huh?”

Marco stared, uncertain if he was seeing what he thought he saw.

He pulled his head out of the doorway for a moment and glanced upwards. 1A the sign read so this was his class but why there were only a handful of students inside especially on the first day?

Star made her way over to her best friend, a quizzical look on her face

“What's up Marco?”

Marco frowned “Nothing I guess? I thought I was in the wrong class for a second since the bell's about to ring and there's almost nobody here.”

“There is a reason for that Mr. Diaz.” a cool voice called from behind

Startled, Marco and Star whirled around to find Moon Butterfly standing there.

“M-Mrs. B-Butterfly! Good Morning” Marco bowed quickly while Star gave a cheery “Morning mom!”

“Morning Mr. Diaz, sweetie.” She gave a short nod “Please take your seats and I shall inform you where your missing classmates have gone.”

Marco and Star exchanged a look but said nothing, opting to take their seats instead.

It was so strange to be in class that nearly devoid of life but Moon quickly answered the question the 8 students were thinking of.

“The rest of your classmates are with my fellow teacher All Might” Moon told them

“All Might?! He's a teacher?! AT UA?!” Marco burst out loud.

Marco felt his ears burn when Moon's eyes narrowed on his face, the quiet snickering of his classmates echoing in his ears.

“Yes....” Moon began slowly “After many years, he finally decided to take up a position at UA since his personal affairs have...recently taken care of.”

Marco's throat felt dry as Moon's knowing gaze finally left him and scanned the rest of the room.

'She knows' Marco thought to himself 'She knows I have One for All.....'

“You are probably wondering why you are not with the rest of your class.”

Tom scoffed, waving their teacher's statement off “It's clear you wanted to talk to the top students of the entrance exam personally. Oh and Marco too”

Marco growled under his breath, clutching at the edges of his table angrily.

“Yes Mr. Lucitor, you are correct....”

Tom smirked proudly

“...well, partially correct.”

Tom's face fell as the room broke into hushed whispers.

Moon sat at the edge of her desk, her face stony and indifferent.

“As Mr. Lucitor was so kind to arrogantly point out, you eight scored the highest of all the applicants.”

Marco gazed about the room: Tom (because of course he did), Janna, Jackie (his heart skipped a beat), Ferguson, Alfonzo, Sabrina and Star.

Wait, where was the 8th...?

Marco mentally smacked himself upon realizing he failed to count himself out of habit.

“So naturally” Moon went on without missing a beat “Expectations are high for you 8.”

“Naturally” Janna smugly replied.

“Which is why you will be taking a special test today. One that determines if you stay at UA or not.”

A nauseous feeling formed in the pit of Marco's stomach as the classroom fell deathly silent.

“Hey!” Tom shot to his feet furiously “That's not fair! We passed the test fair and square, why are we being punished for that?”

“Fair?” Moon repeated with a steely edge to her voice “You seem to have a rather skewed perception of fair Mr. Lucitor.”

“Why you...” Tom began but Moon ignored him

“You all did exceedingly well in the examination but simply put, just because the others are convinced you will go on to do great things does not mean I share their sentiments.”

Moon pushed off her desk and stood at full height, making eye contact with every single person in the room

“And before you can complain that I can't do this” Tom openly glared but Moon paid no mind “I have expelled entire classes before and it's well within my power to do so. I do not sugarcoat anything. My fellow faculty members expect you to thrive here. I'm here to ensure their faith is not misplaced. As a hero, the world will place you on a pedestal whether you like it or not and they will not hesitate expect your success or remind you of your failure. ”

Marco gulped. Despite the general, almost conversational tone Moon took, he couldn't shake the feeling that she was speaking directly to him. He was River's successor and it was his duty to live up to his idol's expectations. If Marco was to be the next symbol of peace, failure could not be an option yet it would always linger.

Always.....

“Please gather your things and follow me.”

Marco's sense of dread only grew as the class quietly shuffled after their teacher.

20 minutes and one change of clothes later, the eight found themselves in a rather strange location: It was a well kept grassy plain surround by a loose ring of trees. The now dark blue and white track suit wearing students stood to one side of the groove as their teacher stoically remained in the center.

Moon had changed too though her attire was far more menacing: She wore a long black riding cloak over with her simple yet elegant chain-mail, thick bandages wrapped around her forearms with her long periwinkle blue hair braided into a single ponytail while a pair of strange goggles with multiple slits rested over her eyes.

Marco's body tensed upon the realization that she must've changed into her hero costume. The Queen was not holding anything back.

Moon turned her attention to the group of teens or at least that's what Marco thought. It was very hard to tell where or who she was exactly looking at with those strange goggles of hers.

“This is your final warning” Moon cracked her knuckles threateningly “This is UA. You will be bruised, you will get hurt and while your life will not be in danger, that doesn't mean we're going to go easy on you. If you want to back out, now is the time to do so.”

Her question was met with silence and determined gazes.

“Very well” Moon smirked as she fished out a dark blue cloth from her pocket “Let's get straight to the point: This is a UA flag, nothing special aside being used to show your school spirit.”

She wrapped it tightly around her forehead.

“Whoever helps get this off my head will stay at UA. Everyone else will be expelled at once and do not worry, I won't be using my quirk. It wouldn't be very sporting of me.”

“Wait!” Marco shouted alongside the choir of outraged students “Are you saying only one of us gets to pass?!”

Moon said nothing. She remained still and lifeless as a breeze swayed the folds of her cloak.

Tom snarled furiously, his hands bursting into flames “Fine! I'll just have to rip that stupid thing off your head!”

“Tom wait!” Marco reached for the hot headed teen but found empty air as the angry teen rocketed away, two bright orange flames burst forth from his palms and propelling him towards his opponent.

“I'm the best” Tom growled, his eyes brimming with a righteous fury “And I'm going to prove it to you right here! RIGHT NOW!”

Tom Lucitor-Quirk: Hellfire. Using his internal body heat, Tom can produce flames for various purposes though prolonged use will lead to dehydration and heat exhaustion. The flames become hotter and more powerful the angrier he is. Shocking.

Moon barely flinched when Tom reached out for the headband.

“Foolish boy”

Tom let out a surprised gasp when Moon sidestepped him effortlessly, his palm sailing inches past her face as she just watched.

“What the hell?!” Tom cussed as Moon reached for his wrist and locked her fingers around it in an iron grip.

Moon shifted her foot sideways as she vaulted the attacking teen over her shoulder and slammed him into the ground. His back tensed from the sudden pain while the air emptied out of his lungs.

Marco stood there dumbfounded and unable to process what just happened: One second Tom was just one swipe away from staying at UA and the next he was face up on the floor, almost completely subdued.

“CHAAAAARGE!” Janna shouted, fist raised in defiance

The others rushed forward, hoping their individual strength would be enough to overwhelm the pro hero. Only Marco remained behind. He knew it would be pointless. The Queen was a spec ops heroine. She was used to being alone and being self sufficient. Even without her quirk, her general knowledge of quirks and their functions made her dangerous. Couple that with her hand to hand skills and there was no way a bunch of new students were going to defeat her....

Marco let out a disappointed sigh. Everything he had gone through, pushing himself further than he'd ever pushed only to have it snatched it away right at the starting line....

It wasn't fair.....it wasn't....

“I'm sorry....”

Marco snapped out of his spiral of depression to find Star next to him, hands clutched tightly behind her back as she hovered anxiously, her blue eyes focused on the battle ahead.

“Star?” Marco asked, unable to keep concern out of his voice.

“This is my fault....” Star answered sorrowfully “I caused this....”

“Star” Marco reached for her but she pulled away

“She's always pushing me, always giving me some new challenge. I thought she'd calm down now that I was actually in UA but it seems like it's only gotten worse....and because of me, everyone's going to lose their chance at their dream....”

“No”

Star turned to Marco.

“We're not giving up”

"why not?” Star asked, her voice full of frustration “No one here can beat my mom”

To emphasize her point, Star gestured the completely one sided battle taking place before them.

Moon stood still as Jackie rushed ahead of the pack, a thin layer of frost covering her palms. She grinned happily as she skidded to a stop, brushing her hand lightly over the grassy floor.

Jackie Lynn Thomas-Quirk: Water Manipulation. Able to alter H20 on a molecular level, Jackie can create water, steam or ice at a moment's notice. However, this requires immense concentration and often gets Jackie sick. She does not like getting sick.

Ice spread over the plain, crawling closer and closer to Moon's feet in hopes of entrapping the heroine.

Moon clicked her tongue disappointingly as she jumped away from the icy clutches of Jackie's attack and countered with one of her arm wraps.

“What?” Jackie stood up, backing away in surprise but it was too late: The wrap wound itself tightly around her wrist and went taut “What the what?”

Moon pulled with all her strength and sent Jackie helplessly sliding down her own icy field.

“Capture tape” Moon explained as she flicked the bandage over her arm once again “It's designed to be flexible and durable. It's meant to capture the more uncooperative suspects.”

Moon's head snapped at the sound of footsteps crunching against grass.

“Thanks for the distraction Jackie!” Janna smugly shouted as she reached for the headband.

Moon battled away Janna's outstretched arm and counter attacked with a shoulder tackle. Janna let out a pained grunt as she fell to the floor.

“Too obvious” Moon chided.

“Actually” Janna smirked “Just perfect.”

Moon eyed Janna's darkly glowing hand warily when she caught the sounds of fibers being ripped and torn apart, a strange rune over her wraps quickly fading into thin air.

Janna jumped to her feet, shooting her teacher the most cocky grin and finger guns she could muster.

Janna Ordonia- Quirk: Fortune Redirection. After bonding with a person, Janna can use their inherit good or bad luck to affect other beings or objects. While usually the effectiveness of the results often vary, Janna seems to have found a particularly misfortunate person, granting her access to a powerful and consistent source of bad luck.

“That's unlucky” Janna mocked while she rushed at Moon again

“Only the foolish and inexperienced rely on luck” Moon replied as she pulled Janna's arm into a twist and sent her facing the other direction.

Janna winced “Whoa, this isn't very heroic you know?”

“You missed the part where I cared” Moon answered before shoving her towards the timid approach of Sabrina.

Sabrina flinched nervously and used her arms to shield herself from the Janna projectile coming the straight for her.

Janna was expecting to run into flesh. What she actually ran into was a thick, rocky surface that promptly sent her reeling onto the ground.

“Sorry....” Sabrina murmured softly

Sabrina Backintosh- Quirk: Reinforcement. She can harden her skin to a rock-like substance which is useful for the seemingly large amount of bad luck that follows her around. Some wonder if her bad luck and Janna's power are somehow connected.

“Sab” Janna dizzily told the petrified girl “You got to get in there....win for...me...”

Sabrina was unconvinced as Janna dramatically fell unconscious.

“....No....”

“Here comes the Ferg!”

Ferguson barreled forward with his hands inflated to at least three times their sizes and while his run was unsteady, there was a hint of confidence as he inched his way closer to Moon but the confident swagger left him when, instead of scaring the pro hero as he hoped, Moon decided to meet him head on, closing the distance between them.

Ferguson pulled his arm back, ready to take a swing at his teacher when Moon lashed out with an open palm directly to his face.

Ferguson stumbled backwards, arms flailing in a panic despite not actually being hit. Moon let out an annoyed sigh as with a muted pop, Ferguson's entire body puffed up and the boy helplessly rolled away.

Ferguson O'durguson- Quirk: Expansion. By altering muscle mass and fat, Ferguson is able to increase his own body's density. However, when startled, Ferguson's entire body expands at once and while this gives him a powerful defense, it also prevents him from moving normally.

Alfonzo stood at the ready, hand outstretched to stop Ferguson.

Ferguson let out a relived sigh as he came to a complete stop thanks to his best friend “Thanks buddy! You always got my back.”

“umm yeah of course Ferguson” Alfonzo answered back.

Alfonzo Dolittle- Quirk: Afterimage. Alfonzo is able to create static, still images of himself at will. The images will vanish if Alfonzo wants them to, sneezes or when he is asleep. He has accidentally scared himself on more than one occasion.

Moon shot him a questioning look, taunting him to try his luck against her.

Alfonzo took a step back, waving his hands in surrender.

“That's what I thought” Moon muttered. She almost relaxed now that most of the students had been subdued or frightened when a frustrated yell broke through the tense silence.

“THIS ISN'T OVER!” Tom snarled, his hands ablaze as he drew closer for one final attack on the pro hero “GIVE ME THAT HEADBAND!”

Moon paid no to the raging teen despite how much he clearly was trying to catch her attention. Her ears twitched gently as she picked up the soft noise of ice slowly forming amidst the furious crackle of Tom's flames.

Jackie moved as quickly and quietly as she could, crouching low to sneak up on her seemingly preoccupied foe. There was no way she could take on a pro hero in a head to head battle but if her attention remained on the raging demonic hellspawn, she might just have a chance.

Moon took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.

Tom pulled his arm back, beads of sweat rolling down his forehead. His body was exhausted due to the constant exposure to his own flames but he was too lost in rage and adrenaline to care. He was consumed by his fury and was beyond reason. He outstretched his hand, reaching the headband one last time.

Moon let out a frustrated sigh. She shifted her body to the left and as if in a hypnotizing stupor, the two teens followed suite, their single minded determination blinding them to the heroine's plan.

At the last possible moment, Moon dove sideways, dropping into a roll before leaping onto her feet. Her body relaxed as flame and ice collided.

Blue and red irises widened in surprise while they dug their heels in an attempt to stop but it was far too late to do anything. Instinctively, Jackie rose her frost covered arm in front of her face while Tom did the same with his burning limb just as the two smacked into one another.

Jackie and Tom were quickly enveloped by a cloud of steam, their figures obscured as they began cough uncontrollably from the sudden stuffy, smothering heat that overwhelmed them without warning.

Moon stood there, among the groaning and silence of the defeated, still and unmoving. If anyone had impressed her these last few minutes, there was no indication or acknowledgment in her face. She simply was, her face as indifferent as stone.

“See?” Star motioned wildly to emphasize her point “She's barely winded! Nobody here can take on my mom.....”

The blonde's face fell, sorrow filling up her sky blue eyes.

“We're going to get kicked out because of me....I...”

“Star

Star snapped out of her self defeated daze. There was a strange confidence in Marco's tone, one she was certain hadn't been there before. She lifted her gaze to Marco only to find him staring back at her.

“Marco?”

Marco clenched his fist tightly “Star, how fast are you with your wings?”

Star blinked in confusion.

“I...I dunno, pretty fast? I've never really kept track before.”

“ I was hoping for a specific number” A frown graced Marco's face only for a moment before a self assured grin quickly replaced it “But luckily I've got to experience your speed firsthand.”

“Marco?” Star raised an eyebrow but her best friend kept rambling on, muttering to himself about approach and karate lessons “Earth to Maaaaarco. Come in Marco!”

“Huh?” Marco shook away his runaway train of thought “Sorry, I tend to get carried..away...Anyway, I got an idea how to get that headband.”

“Marco” Star began dejectedly “Just stop. If my mom doesn't want you to have that flag, nobody is getting that flag.”

“Exactly!” Marco beamed

“Wha?”

“Don't you get it Star? Nobody is going to get the flag.”

Star nodded questioningly in agreement “Yes, that's what I just said.”

“Which is why we need bodies” Marco replied eagerly.

“Whoa! Marco you're an awesome guy but I'm not killing people for you!”

Marco's face paled “Wait! NO NO NO I mean we need to work together to get that flag! Nobody here can beat your mom on their own but we're not supposed to. If I'm right....”

“Whoever helps get this off my head will stay at UA.”

“...then it won't matter who gets the headband”

Marco felt all confidence drain out of him when he felt Star's hand gently grip his shoulder.

“Alright, what's the plan?”

Marco hid his burning face from Star, trying his best to keep his voice leveled as he told her the plan “We're going to need Al and Sabrina....”

Moon checked her watch briefly as Jackie helped the still slumbering Janna to the side while Tom begrudgingly guided Ferguson to a nearby tree.

“4 tired out, 2 frightened away” Moon murmured to herself “now where's Marco and...”

Moon perked up at the sound of crunching grass approaching her slowly.

She slowly tilted her head and found herself staring at group of four students, a mixture of fear and purpose etched deeply on their faces.

“...Star....” Moon whispered as she turned to face the new challengers “I'm getting rather bored of this so this is your last chance unless you wish to face expulsion.

Star clenched her jaw tightly as she stared down her mother.

“Don't worry Mrs. Butterfly” Marco answered with a respectful tone “We're going to give this our best shot.”

“Then proceed.”

Marco took a step forward and as expected, Moon backed up into a defensive stance.

“Al, NOW!”

Moon blinked in surprise as Alfonzo began running around her in a loose circle.

She narrowed her eyes in suspicion: What was Marco planning? If they thought they could distract her so easily, they were sorely mis...

Moon watched carefully as one Alfonzo became two then three then four then eight. Ten, fifteen, twenty Alfonzo's surrounded her, frozen images of him mid-run filling Moon's sight.

“Clever” She spoke loudly “Nice use of cover.”

“Thanks!” Marco's voice called from her blind spot on the right.

Moon's instincts kicked and with a graceful motion, she whirled around, leg outstretched to meet Marco's assault.

Except it wasn't Marco rushing to meet her. Instead, stumbling her way uneasily through the battlefield was Sabrina, arms flailing wildly as she tried to steady herself

Moon was going to follow through with the kick anyway when something caught her eye. The sun didn't reflect off Sabrina's skin properly...it was almost like it was...

Everything click at once but Moon knew it was too late to stop her momentum. However she could still use it to her advantage despite this setback.

Moon hopped off the ground with one foot, leaning into a spinning wheel kick as she narrowly leapt over Sabrina's head.

Sabrina tumbled forward, chin first into the ground but rather than torn skin, it was skin that had torn up dirt and patches of grass as she skidded to a stop across the floor.

'They used her as a projectile' Moon thought to herself as she unsteadily landed on the balls of her feet 'a distraction for another attack.'

Moon snapped into action, gripping Marco's wrist tightly as he reached for the headband on her forehead. If she had been a second too late, he would've....

Marco pulled back on his restrained arm, dragging the unsuspecting Moon forward and further off balance while reaching for the flag with his free hand.

Moon scowled angrily as she was forced to release Marco and intercept the attempted grab with a well place chop but Marco wasn't done yet: Before the pro hero could react, Marco threw right hook towards her unprotected side.

Moon caught his arm with her own and deflected the punch while reaching for his wrist once again. Marco pivoted on his heel before she could close her grasp, pulling backwards while driving his palm into Moon's shoulder blade.

Moon flinched, stumbling back from the force of the attack. Unlike the previous attackers, Marco had some knowledge of martial arts and would not easily be dispatched . However, an ocean of experience separated the two and the advantage Marco had gotten was quickly dwindling.

Moon dug her feet into the ground as Marco chased after her, attempting to keep her further off balance with a series of karate chops but without the element of surprise, Moon was unmovable. Despite his best efforts, Moon casually absorbed or blocked his attacks, refusing to budge a single inch under the onslaught.

Marco pulled back his arm, hoping a solid punch would break through his teacher's defense but Moon was already one step ahead of him: as he moved his arm backwards, Moon planted her feet firmly on the floor and braced her knees.

Marco's eyes widened as she tightly held onto his wrist, twisting her body as she began to drag him forward into a throw. Marco quickly brought his palm against her back and shoved as hard as he could.

Marco's hand slipped free while Moon fell forward, one leg awkwardly bent mid-air while the other tried to keep balance. Marco let out a sigh of relief and blinked.

When he opened his eyes a moment later, the color drain from his face as Moon twisted in his direction, her knee inches away from catching his stomach.

Marco didn't have a plan. Marco couldn't think of anything that could help in this moment and even if he could, he didn't possess the speed or skill to react in time. He felt the cold shiver of failure dripping down his back. Just one more moment. One more second and they would've won....they would've....

Star's downtrodden face flashed into his mind, the sorrow that danced in her eyes tug at his heartstrings painfully.

Marco screamed at himself. He wouldn't let it end this way. He wouldn't let everyone down just because he couldn't use his quirk properly. He wasn't about to lose everything just because he couldn't do one simple job.

He wasn't going to lose.

Marco felt power flow throughout his legs, the low hum of electricity charging filled his ears as his muscles tightened, renew vigor surging through him like a second wind. It was an odd feeling, one he couldn't remember ever noticing before but it had a comforting familiarity to it, one that cleared Marco's mind.

Marco tensed his body, letting the power run through his body freely. He felt invincible, he felt powerful, he felt like he possessed the energy and strength of not one person but several, overlapping together as one.

He felt like how he always imagined All Might would feel.

Marco only meant to push away, clear some distance between himself and his opponent as he leap backwards to avoid the knee.

He didn't have to worry about distant: It was weird how much the sound of crumbling earth sounded so similar to the crunching of cookies once crushed by human hands.

Marco shot backwards like a rocket, his legs flailing useless and broken as a 5 foot crater and violent winds formed from where he once stood.

Moon was nearly knocked off her feet as the fierce wind blinded and deafened her for a moment but a moment was all Star needed.

Star flew past the wall of Al's and sailed straight for her mother, her gaze focused only on one thing.

The ringing in Moon's ears was unbearable and she stumbled uneasily trying regain her balance. Her eyes were dry and her body shook from the sheer power Marco unleashed in that moment.

Moon saw Star coming, her daughter’s outstretched hand made it very clear what she was after.

Moon slowly began to raise her arm but paused for a moment.

She gave a little chuckle, suppressing the smile on her face as Star whizzed by, flag clutched tightly in her hand.

“As your classmate as figured out” Moon tiredly told the students save Marco and Star “You were supposed to work together and technically you all helped in getting the flag so you get to stay at UA.”

She scanned over each and everyone of them carefully

“You are future heroes. You will be measured to the standard of those who came before you and you will be the standard for which those who come after you will be compared to. You carry the legacy of us all. Welcome to UA high.”

Moon shook her head as the remaining 6 moaned and grumbled about how unfair it all was. They were all tired and they still had the rest of the school day to get through.

Moon watched silently as the class departed.

Marco broke both his legs again due to his quirk and despite Moon's suggestion that he was perfectly fine in the care of Recovery girl, Star refused to leave his side

“Our daughter” Moon spoke softly to the approaching figure “Takes too much after you. Reckless and crazy.”

River nodded as he stood next to his wife “Perhaps but she has your loyalty.”

“I don't know if that's a good thing....”

“I'd like to think so” River tugged at his beard anxiously “Moon pie....did I...?”

“Yes” Moon leaned over and gently kissed her husband's cheek “He'll make a fine hero. If his quirk doesn't kill him first.”

“He's tough and smarter than I when I first received One for All. He'll get the hang of it.”

“Then you have nothing to worry about it.”

River stared off into the distance.

“I sure hope so.”

Things were so much simpler back then......I still wonder if I would've had the courage to kept going if I had knew what lay ahead.....

coffee mugs usually because they hold more liquid and i use them for everything lol tea, coffee, alcohol, soda

lollipops, i like having something in my mouth for long amounts of time(and yes pun intended)

I got this really high quality black formal shirt from le chateau that breathes really well and highlights my figure. I have these black jeans with zippers above and below the kneecap that make me feel dope. so yeah full black lol. theres also this grey sweater i have that flows in the wing like a cape and i feel like a superhero when wind blows it behind me
