Big big gratitude for your post about the student protests in Thailand, giving context to The Eclipse. I appreciate you. Such a fucking good show.
Hugs.
Thank you! I am glad I said something considering how many people apparently we unaware of the situation. It was such a huge deal over the past two years I guess I assumed everyone would make the connection. I even remember people slamming many GMMTV actors for not posting in support while many other actors were losing sponsors and getting in legal trouble with the government. Some were out there in the streets protesting right along with everyone else. Meanwhile, GMMTV was airing The Gifted: Graduation in the midst of everything and there was serious concern that the government was going to pull the show off the air because of how directly it correlated with the issue at hand. A year later with Not Me, we saw the same situation play out and GMMTV still found a way to produce The Eclipse and the show is #1 in Thailand. That should tell interfans something.
For anyone who wants some further context of the events as they happened, check out #whatshappeninginthailand on tumblr, twitter, or instagram.

for a day: our Yazidi staff member Shihab! Last week, Karen students in Mae La refugee camp, Thailand learnt about the situation for refugees in Iraq. A beautiful reminder that understanding and empathy reaches beyond geographic borders.

On the ground
update from our Middle East Director of Operations.
People who have had to flee their homes due to war now face another challenge in the camps where they have found refuge. Finding work. In past years, they were counting on emergency kits provided by other humanitarian organizations and trying to find jobs at the same time. However, these days are even harder on them. They are struggling to find a job, and inflation is increasing in Iraq. They must work for more than 10 hours a day for less than 200 USD a month. You can barely survive with this amount. That’s why I am very excited about our livelihood project in Iraq, which will help families to restore their original skills and tools used to run their own businesses. Partners is planning to coach the families on business management, help with purchasing assets to establish their own business and guiding them through the first six months of their project. This will give them the chance not to only have income, but also to rebuild their own self-esteem and self-efficacy.

Inspired
by this story based on the journey of two Syrian sisters from war-torn Syria to the 2016 Rio Olympics. A must watch this weekend.
Thank you for another week of fueling hope for children growing up in conflict zones around the world.
Your friends at Partners.

TO KINNPORSCHE FANS WITH TWITTER
EDIT: Be On Cloud just started tweeting using the episode hashtag, so it’s fine to tweet with it now. I still recommend reading this over if you’re confused about the situation.
Please do NOT tweet with the episode hashtag. Be On Cloud has urged fans to instead stand with the protesters in Thailand who are risking their lives, particularly those protesting the violent human rights situation there RIGHT NOW. Check the Twitter hashtag #ม็อบ11มิถุนา65 for more information on the topic. The English hashtags are #WhatsHappeninginThailand, #RespectThaiDemocracy, and #FreedomForThai.
Currently, police have been taking violent action against protestor, INCLUDING MEDICAL PERSONNEL. Please be wary of checking the hashtag on Twitter--there are videos of the violence committed against civilians. I've attached some information below.

Included below is the general information in Thai, English, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Indonesian, French, and German:

Please note that none of these images are mine. I am not Thai and know comparatively little about the situation. Be On Cloud and the actors have requested that we not trend the hashtag this week in solidarity, and this is the information I was able to gather.

⚠️WE NEED YOUR ATTENTION⚠️
This is IMPORTANT because we are facing this crisis in Thailand. The polices are all armed and they use chemical water canon with color, tear gas and also rubber bullets against unarmed peaceful protesters. We had just our bare hands and umbrellas.
Please help us spread the news about what's happening in Thailand.

Thailand never have true democracy.
We have been under dictatorship for 6 year, and the reason why this government have so much power is because they have been given support by the king.
The king and royal family in Thailand have power over law and justice. People who resist them or even say their opinion about them can get arrest or kidnapped.
What we want is true democracy that give us freedom to expressing our opinion and make royal familly's power be under the law.
Thai government is in opposite side of thai people. They used violence against unarmed protesters and tried to make it look like it was protesters' fault.
That's why we want peolple in other country to know what really hanpenning in thailand. Because Thai government will alway lie and make themselve and look good.
The situation right now is hard for us, but we will not stop fighting for the better future of our country.
Sorry if there are some grammar mistakes in this post. I never make a long post in english before but this time I feel like I have to make it.

There were violence during the protest of February 28th. Multiple individuals who were cornered into hiding in gas stations ended up being beaten up by the police. There were abuse by the police displayed on the streets too. Shots were fired. The mainstream media isn’t reporting this.

A threat to freedom of speech especially over the web (as it seems that a percentage of the population in Thailand aren't able to access social media at this time) should be extremely concerning to everyone around the world. All government leaders converse with one another so if one section is corrupt and find methods to get away with unjust actions then other leaders will follow. Everything that happens in the world has a trickle effect. Founders of apps and search engines such as Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube have had several discussions over the years about charging users to not only access these platforms with which the general public use to speak our minds, but to collect profit from everything we do on them. $1 every time you search something on Google, 50 cents per tweet, 75 cents per post on Instagram. This is how they will slowly begin to push out those which government rules really impact (the poor, lower, & middle class). Those who speak up against tyranny and speak out against injustices like that which is occurring in Thailand as well as across the rest of the world. They will silence the people and we will have no power. So we must speak up for those who can not at this time or else we will be next. THIS SHOULD SCARE YOU.

There’s no shame on them
YASSSS Finally, I can edited something. I’ve been trying to edit the detail about the news all day and I can’t T T SORRY.
I’m sorry for not updating anything. I’m having a problem with my hand. Doctor suggested me to rest. But for this news I cannot just stand still and watch it pass by. Last time I posted something about the issue. THIS ONE IS WORSE THAN ANYTHING.
So, during these pass few days. There are protest events in Bangkok. The government force was arrested head activists, fired water cannon to unarmed people.
However, yesterday on 16 Oct 2020.
There is one ambulance who carrying one elder woman around protest area. During that time police was blocking the protest the area. SO THEY DID NOT OPEN THE WAY TO LET ONE AMBULANCE OUT.
Later, the news informed that she is safe.  (Apparently, there has a fake account inform that patient is pregnant woman and passed away which is not true)
......................................................................................
THIS HAS GONE TOO FAR. AFRIAD OF UMARMED CITIZEN AND IGNORED INNOCENCE PEOPLE IS NOT RIGHT FOR ANY HUMAN TO DO.
Please, if you see this help up spread the news. It could be anywhere by words to words, talk to talk. Anything except silent.
