My completed Izzy Moonbow fursuit! This fursuit has been a big project, but i'm very happy with how it turned out. The suit has a removable tongue, follow me eyes, a minky horn, hand curled spliced wig and wefts, hoof paws with slip away hand gaps and a wefted wig tail! Izzy is my favorite female character in G5, i love her creativity and vibrant personality! I just had to bring her to life!

Miki Lore

-Steven actually did some volenteer work with Professer Oak some years before becoming a trainer, this is when he and Miki met.

-Miki was quite shy and jumpy at first, but thanks to Steven working with her over time she came out of her shell and became alot more confident. This ended up with Miki choosing Steven as her human rather then the other way around. Not sorry Stevie boy, you are the chosen one and your fate is sealed.

-Thanks to the pair having a pre-established bond Miki grew strong VERY quickly. Wasn't long on their journey she outgrew her favourite hobby of letting Steven carry her around outside her ball in his shirt. (Going off the headcanon that her tail fire works like a ponyta/rapidash mane fire, since she trusts Steven it doesn't burn him)

More under the cut to prevent a wall of text!

-Miki ended up trying to copy alot of Steven's mannerisms as the two grew. Including but not limited to; trying to mimic a more human like posture and body language, teaching herself how to speak some basic human language (she could understand it all just fine), trying on wigs to look more like Steven and even trying to wear clothes!

-Miki has a friendly sibling rivalry with Ace (Mike's blastoise) and is also friendly with Mike himself. They even had a bit where she pretended she was gonna bite his head off when he wasn't looking to freak out strangers. (This was comedy gold to her).

-She was awake and aware during the trading accident (which happened in an actual pokecenter, the trading machine had been tampered with by a spiteful third party). While it was painful and scary she quickly came to her senses as a spirit and basically went "Minor inconvenience." to it. She doesn't hold any resentment to Mike.

-Once she realised communication from beyond the grave was out the question she looked for another way, this led her to an evil organisation who were trying to mix pokemon and humans together to make uncatchable super weapons.

-Curiously, she was able to communicate with an "AI" in charge of keeping the experiments stable during incubation to help sway the odds into her favour. Suggesting that perhaps taking a dna sample from a human already undergoing a transformation into a pokemon and then splicing that with pokemon dna would lead to the embryo surviving past incubation. (The "AI" is technically Glitchy but we get to him when we get to him.)

-Of corse she was referring to Steven, who at this point thanks to various factors was undergoing a slow change. (He'd even grown a functional tail at this point!). Once a blood sample had been retreived she once again suggested to mix it with a specific pokemon, anything from the charmander line.

-Her little scheme worked wonders, the new body was stable and she didn't need to worry about being controled by the evil folk, as the method of aquiring the blood sample had alerted Steven & company to their existance. Soon after settling into her new body the hideout was raided and the mysterious egg containing her was retreived. Along with the "AI" who helped her as they didn't like working for the bad guys but still wanted to live.

-Several years pass as she incubates again, but once she breaks out and finally reunites with her best friend turned father she looks ALOT more like him, just like she always wanted.

-Her apperance is that of a mostly human girl with some abnormal features, bright emerald green eyes, long and flowing amber hair that's a little wavy at the roots, tan-ish skin tone with small and glossy orange scales dotted about her body (a couple on her face to mimic freckles, back of her hands and feet, some lines of them on her neck, front of her thighs and knees, elbows and so on), a charizard like tail with more of that amber hair at the tuft just like her father, pointier nails and canine teeth.

-Her natural typing also shifted. From Fire/Flying from her Charizard days to Ghost/Fire. Her focus is in her lungs.

-Dispite all that she went through she retained her boisterous and rowdy nature. More then happy to try and pick fights to settle a problem where words and logic fail. She also butts heads to defend those weaker then her.

#Avatar BioShock Crossover AU" 2023 please!!!

This one's a doozy.

I don't remember precisely what triggered this one, but there was a period of a couple weeks last year where I got really into the idea of an Avatar/BioShock crossover AU. This spawned several AUs, only one of which made it into my WIP folder, apparently, so the rest must be lurking on discord with my beta reader. This particular AU has a few scant character notes, some timelines, and a discussion of themes that paint what I would consider a compelling but overly-ambitious picture.

The themes in play: destiny, causality, consciousness, free will, and moral choice. We are pulling material from BioShock, BioShock 2, BioShock 2: Minerva's Den, BioShock Infinite, Avatar: the Last Airbender, and Legend of Korra. Rapture exists in its own right, whereas Columbia is replaced with Republic City. Tears, Spirit Portals, and Spirit Wilds are all the same thing, linking Rapture and Republic City across time and space. Bending and Splicing are the same, as well, with the "Avatar" being someone who has spliced up to an incredible degree and not died of every kind of cancer. The Avatar State is thus a kind of berserk mode that uses up all the EVE in the Avatar's body, leaving them powerless and vulnerable at the end. Past Avatars exist as coherent ADAM ghosts.

Aang, in this story, is a Jack/Eleanor Lamb character originally from Rapture who escaped into Republic City through a tear, and set about trying to find a way back to Rapture's past to undo all of the damage he ended up causing. He's a man haunted by guilt whose efforts are ultimately futile, because that's not how causality works.

Korra is our Elizabeth, whose ability to open and close tears makes her valuable to Aang in his quest for redemption, but also makes her a target for everyone on both sides of the veil who wants a slice of the Rapture/Republic City pie. But opening and closing tears destroys entire sections of probability space, creating fixed points in spacetime and releasing a ton of spiritual energy that gets eaten by the bioluminescent mass that sits beneath Rapture, spitting ADAM slugs back out into the world, accelerating the chaos and decline of both cities.

I have here that Aang somehow travels back to the past and becomes the founder of Rapture, which means he later creates and then kills himself while trying to do everything he can to avoid that outcome. It probably made more sense in my head the time. The other members of the Gaang are listed as Rapture's Best & Brightest: Zuko and Sokka are divorced and miserable, with Zuko trying to be a single dad and Sokka inventing the Thinker; Katara is the city's foremost doctor and philanthropist; Suki is a detective/private security chief; and Toph runs the banks because nobody else is capable. She also laid a lot of the city's foundation.

The Mechanist is here inventing things. Wu is a popular singer with his own radio program. Suyin is a prima donna ballerina. Asami is...presumably doing something amazing, but I didn't write that bit down.

The villain rogue's gallery is all here as well, moving back and forth across the tears and causing mischief and mayhem. Zaheer's radical spirituality causes Aang (Rapture Founder) to ban religion, and Unalaq tries to get control of the Avatar Program so that he can become an Avatar himself. Ozai and Zhao extend their feelers throughout both cities, seizing power and resources for themselves. Amon slots himself nicely into the Atlas role (plot twist and all), so nothing really more to say there. Kuvira is apparently a former police officer turned mob boss capitalizing on the chaos for her own gain. Long Feng is a cold technocrat who runs a private security firm and manages assets for city big wigs. My note on him is "a less affable Sinclair."

Pro-bending/ADAM boxing is a thing, so Mako and Bolin are here trying to make it big in the big bad city/ies, which probably means I planned some background Wuko.

I have no idea what my endgame was. I don't know what the actual plot was going to be. This project wasn't one I seriously considered planning out in detail because I was in the middle of H&V/J&R work, and that takes priority over anything else with this level of ambition. Having said that, it might be interesting to take another pass at the concept and see if I can turn all of that up there into something workable.

Oh hey yeah, I used to post cosplays on here. Well here's my Vash from Wondercon 2023! I've always loved Trigun and enjoyed the reboot, realizing finally it was my time to cosplay him! (Look, I love OG Vash as much as the next guy...but that wig would have killed me). I still learned a LOT making this cosplay and honestly would love to redo or replace pretty much all of it, but I am still so incredibly proud with what I accomplished. First ever 3D prop, first ever wig splicing, and first armor build. Now I did goof and completely forgot the cheek beauty mark so sorry for how long it's been taking me to get these up, I'm not good at photoshop (used to be good at PS Elements but lost that, and I have no idea how to use Gimp).

First time styling a spikey wig. Not bad for watching one tutorial and then saying “how hard can it be?”

I spliced an old Arda Magnum in yellow blonde (which was the first wig I ever bought for cosplay in 2015) with a cheap Amazon wig. It’s not 100% accurate, but I’m still pleased with how it came out!

(except once when he went into a huge melodramatic pantomime of guilt and then really enjoyed the attention this got him and kept doing it, which essentially doesn't count.) but this is unmarked and no one in the story ever acknowledges it.

and his one dad skill is that when he chooses to play with the kids and they have a romp it's so much fun.

his role is traditionally double-cast with Captain Hook. like, you go from London to Neverland and it's the same man now in a dramatic wig.

SOME BASIC KNOWLEDGE FOR LOLITA NEWBIES

If you are new to Lolita and want to step into this special street fashion, you need to get familiar with some basic knowledge before that. Otherwise you may do not know what other Lolitas are talking about, and can easily make jokes in Lolita fashion.

JSK: jumper skirt. Skirt with shoulder straps, sleeveless dress, vest dress all can be called JSK. Since it’s without sleeves, it usually matches with an inner blouse to wear. For some JSK design, Lolitas also only wear the JSK, without an inner blouse, which is beautiful as well. For example, the following “Dream in Cage” JSK from indie brand Alice Girl is a standard JSK design.

OP: short name for one-piece. It especially refers to a sleeved dress. There can be short sleeves OP or long sleeves OP. The following two long sleeves dresses are very good example of what an OP means.

SK: skirt. The normal match for a skirt is a top shirt. A SK may be designed with shoulder strap or without.

BNT: short name for bonnet. The western ancient women often wear decorative hats with large eaves. The bonnet is usually decorated with beautiful ribbons or flowers or other beautiful themes. It can make the full Lolita coordinate more beautiful.

KC: Katyusha. Headdress and headband that matches with a Lolita dress.

FULLSET: short name FS. It means the complete Lolita costume which usually include headdress (KC/ headband/ bonnet), wig, choker or necklace, shirt, dress, petticoat, tights, shoes, umbrella, bag, wrist cuffs, etc. The wig, umbrella, wrist cuffs and bags are not necessary for all Lolita coordinate, but the headdress, choker or necklace, JSK or OP, petticoat, tights, shoes are necessary for a Lolita fullset. Usually these components need to be the same or similar color scheme or have some designed elements echoes each other.

Choker: clavicle chain, short necklaces.

Ouji: a similar fashion with a more masculine appearance, usually worn by men, but some female Lolitas also wear Ouji, so some Ouji set has size for both female and male.

If you like Chinese Lolita indie brands, you may encounter some Chinese terms in Lolita community. The following ones are mostly mentioned among Chinese Lolitas.

小物: accessories. This usually includes accessories such as headwear, wrist cuffs, necklace, earrings, etc.

小萌款: popular style. The "little cute style" in the Lolita group is also the "pop style" in our ordinary wearing style. It refers to the large number of people who buy this Lolita dress, and the demand is very large, which is very popular with Lolitas.

再贩: Lolita dresses are usually pre-ordered. There are rarely ready to ship stocks and if miss the pre-order, you have to buy second hand ones. However, popular models (non limited) are very likely to restart the reservation after a period of time, which is called 再贩.

柄图: the print on the Lolita dress.

花嫁: bride. In Lolita, it refers to the wedding dress.

素鸡: shirring, some kind of elastic band which is used to adjust the size of the skirt, making it more comfortable wearing.

地球人: people who don't wear Lolita dresses. Because a long time ago, some people in the forum said Lolita dress is too exaggerated and called the girls who wear Lolita dress as "Martian". Lolitas began to use this word 地球人 to call ordinary people "earthman", which is now a neutral word.

山: imitations. Never buy imitations, never wear imitations to tea parties or formal parties.

穿山甲: people who wear fake Lolita dress.

知山穿山: Lolitas know it is fake Lolita dress and still buy and wear it. Never do this. When you buy a Lolita dress, please always be careful to avoid the fake ones.
