HI:D can I request a Will Byers (Season 4?) Like they just came back from Cali to Hawkins and he saw how much change one of his best friend's (the male reader) went through, like taller and deeper voice and stuff. And basically just all fluff cause my boy Will deserves love 😔 thaaanks<3
Will Byers/Tall!Male!Reader
UGH I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
I guess since we knew Will that we're part of the party so I just did that
Will does deserve all the fluff I agree heavily
I did basically the entire scene of the time where the pizza van comes to the Wheelers (sorry if it's a different house it's been a second since I've watch season 4)
And okay I didn't remember the exact dialogue and like hell I'm searching up the entire script, so ur gonna have to deal with noncanon dialogue
I'm actually really proud of this sooo happy days yes yes?
OKAY THANK YOU THIS IS SUCH A GOOD PROMPT UR AMAZING
Summary: Look above my little silly notes
Your eyes drooped slightly as the boxes seemed to pile up in front of you. You were beginning to get tired of boxes. Literally.
Steve tried to talk to you a few times, but you didn't really answer with enough worthwhile effort to keep him interested.
You felt a light tap on your shoulder. "Hey, Y/N, are you okay?" You turned around to see Dustin talking to you for what seemed like the millionth time. "You seem a little off."
"I'm just stressed and getting kind of annoyed that no one can see or understand that." You grunted, lifting a particularly heavy box in your arms.
He got a defeated look on his face as he was probably asked to do this by some other idiot trying to snoop, but you brushed it off with a shake of your head.
You wondered who would actually be okay about something like this. You got told Max was in a coma, Eddie's probably dead as well. It seemed stupid to you that everyone was acting like nothing happened.
Karen Wheeler looked over your shoulder and said something nobody was expecting. "Did someone order a pizza?"
Eyebrows were raised and furrowed as people looked back from their boxes. What looked like a pizza van was ripping down the street at a fast pace.
It came to skirting stop, and one of the doors flew open. You were more confused then you liked to admit; did anyone order a pizza?
Your eyes widened from their previously sleepy state whenever you saw Eleven, Will, Jonathan, a random guy you didn't know, and Mike step out of the side door.
The gaze that was originally fixed on the guy you didn't know switched immediately to Will. He's been your best friend for years, and you had missed him very much.
He met your awed stare with a giant, warm grin. A grin that you had longed for ever since he left a year ago. Phonecalls weren't enough to satisfy you.
"Will!" You called out, a smile matching his present on your face.
"Y/N!" He sounded relieved, but his eyes were red and a little puffy.
Will pulled you into a tight hug whenever he got close enough. You felt sparks light up in your stomach, and it felt like they were going to leak over into your mouth and out.
He was warm. It felt like being wrapped in safeness itself.
You had met Will around two years old; your two mother's were good friends throughout highschool and adulthood.
He soon introduced Mike to you, and everyone got along well. Lucas and Dustin came along later. Everything was good for a while.
Will looked up at you, seemingly in surprise. His eyebrows were up high, and his mouth was open wide.
"How did you get so tall in just a year?" He asked with shock.
As if your eyes were deceiving you before you realized that Will was quite a bit shorter than you now. He smiled up at you happily.
"I guess I didn't notice." You mumbled.
He giggled and it made your heart race a little faster. "Your voice is deeper too!"
You smiled widely at him, digging your head down into the crook of his neck. "Damn, I've missed you so much, Will."
"I've missed you too."
You hugged for a while longer before pulling away. He offered to help you with your boxes, and you gladly accepted the help, momentarily forgetting the peril you all were in.

request: could you write any fluff with will byers hehe
word count: 0.8k
author’s note: absolutely i can. but it will definitely have undertones of angst lolol. i wrote this really fast and it's so short, i'm sorry. i finished vol 1. the day it came out so stranger things has totally infested my mind. dw tho, THIS FIC DOES NOT HAVE STRANGER THINGS 4 SPOILERS!
pairings: will byers x gn!reader
warnings: uh will has a nightmare? not proofread. it's angsty but mostly fluff. i think
Tumblr media
The gasps were what roused you from your spot on the floor.
You sat up straight, heart beating wildly at the sound of a distant scream, but one you managed to place immediately. Will. It took a beat for you to adjust to your surroundings before you remembered that you were in California, visiting your friend. Currently, you were in the Byers’ living room, sleeping on a mattress because you refused to let Will give up his own bed.
Stumbling to your feet, you tried to make your way towards his room, the lack of light confusing you even more, as you were already in an unfamiliar setting, but you found your way there. Groping around for the door handle, you pushed the door open and walked in.
Your heart stuttered at the sight in front of you, Byers caught in a state between sleep and consciousness, thrashing around in his own bed. His blanket was strewn on the floor, his legs flinching in a way that told you that he must have kicked it off. His breaths were unnaturally fast and his eyelids fluttered, each twitch dragging a cut along your own heart. Dropping to your knees at the side of his head, you reached for his shoulders, gently but firmly shaking him awake.
“Will, hey, Will? Wake up, it’s just a nightmare, wake up please.” You shook him harder and he startled, hands shooting out to grab a hold of you. His eyes wild and distraught, they ran over your face a few times before recognition kicked in, and his grip on you relaxed. His shoulders still shuddering, he half dragged you onto the bed, and you let him drape your frame over his, his head finding solace in the place where your shoulder met your neck.
You could feel his warm breaths against your skin, still oddly paced, so you moved your hand to smooth over his back soothingly. “It was just a nightmare,” you reassured Will softly, thumb tracing circles over his nightshirt, “You’re safe now.”
“Right,” he murmured into your skin, and you shifted a little so your legs tangled together. Normally, the proximity between you two would have you blushing, but the only thing mattered to you at the moment was the welfare of your friend.
You kept murmuring kind affirmations to Will, some of which you weren’t sure were exactly true, but you wished you could make them so. The two of you lapsed into a quiet, uneasy silence, before you broke it, having to say something.
“You didn’t tell me you were still having nightmares.”
“I didn’t want to worry you,” Will said, pulling away from your neck so his words were clear. You couldn’t help but yearn for him to return, to feel the accidental brush of his hot lips on your skin when he spoke, but there was no time for that right now.
“So you lied?”
“I didn’t lie, exactly-”
“It was a lie by omission and you know it, Byers.”
He sighed quietly, the pads of his fingers gently sweeping from your shoulder to your hand, the movement rendering you speechless. What were you even talking about, again?
“I’m sorry,” you distantly heard Will say, but you couldn’t focus on it, because his treacherous, tantalising hand was making its journey back up your arm.
In that moment, you wanted nothing more than to kiss him.
The thought freaked you out, and you scrambled out of his arms, feet finding the awaiting cold floor with a grimace.
“Right, okay, I forgive you,” you stumbled over the words, hating yourself, because how could you even think about making a move on your friend, especially after an episode of such emotional distress? It was a manipulative, nasty thing to even consider, and you wanted to get out of his sight, “I’m going to go back to bed, then. Sorry.”
“Wait, no, what?” You heard a rustle, and then felt Will’s hand on your wrist, holding you back. “Stay, please.”
You shook your head no, and Will’s frown deepened, his hand tugging you gently to the bed again. “Stay,” he repeated, firmer this time.
Your mind raced through potential excuses, settling on the first one that seemed most plausible. “Joyce,” you blurted, “Joyce wouldn’t be okay with us sharing the bed. Right?”
“Nonsense,” Will shot you down immediately, “She actually hates that you’re sleeping on the floor, makes her feel bad. She’d be fine. Unless,” he said, and you could see the anxiety growing in his eyes, “Unless it’s you who wouldn’t be fine with sharing. I’m sorry, you can go. I’m sorry I woke you up, it-”
“It wasn’t your fault,” you spoke up immediately, “So quit apologising. It’s fine, really.”
“So you’ll stay, then?” he said, flashing you a small smile, and just like that, you were a goner.
“Yeah,” you said quietly, imprinting the image of his growing smile into your brain, “Yeah, I’ll stay.”

Happy birthday, by the way - w.b x male!reader
summary: You’re at the Roller-skate rink when you spot Will Byers, your crush. You decide to wish him a “happy birthday” and then the two of you end up hanging out
a/n: hope the writing isn't bad I tried to make the conversation seem genuine 😩
a/n: why am i writing so much recently lmao
Tumblr media
You were sitting down on the bench waiting on your friend to come back from the concession stand, watching people skate when you saw him.
Will Byers.
You felt the butterflies in your stomach immediately at seeing him, you'd had a crush on him ever since the first day of school when you saw him in English class. e
The two of you weren't super close but you did talk sometimes and you knew that today was his birthday, he'd mentioned it briefly in a conversation.
You got up from the bench and started skating over towards him.
"Hey Will" you said smiling at him and his eyes lit up at the sight of you.
"Oh hey" he chuckled
"Happy birthday" you said slinging your arm around him in a quick hug.
"Thank you, glad someone remembered" his voice drifted off and he looked over at his sister Jane and someone guy that you assumed was his boyfriend.
"Oh I'm sorry" you apologized and he shook his head.
Maybe you could use this situation to your advantage, you could invite him to hang out with you.
"Uhm you know how about you come over and hang out with me?" you offered looking at him with hopeful eyes.
"Sure" he said and the two of you smiled at each other and then skated back over to the tables.
You brought Will over to an empty table and you sat down eating a burger and fries while making conversation.
"You didn't have to pay for me you know"
"Of course I do it's your birthday" you chuckled
The two of you sat at your table and talked for a few hours about everything you could think of and it felt nice, You were building a relationship with him. A real relationship.
"And then when I walked outside-" you noticed Wills gaze was turned towards the rink and then you looked over and you saw it.
Jane trapped in a circle while people filmed her and then someone tossed a milkshake on her.
"What the fuck?" he muttered standing up from his seat.
You got up and followed him, he was walking towards Jane who was sobbing and skating back towards the tables.
"El" he said his voice sympathetic, she ignored him and made her way towards the bathroom.
He looked back at you, his eyes sad.
"I'm sorry I should probably go and talk to her" he said
"Yeah of course, uhm can i give you my number?" you asked.
"Oh yeah here", he pulled a napkin and pen off the table and then you scribbled down your number.
"I'll call you" he said and then he backed away with a smile before leaving to go back to his friends.
Your stomach was doing gymnastics as you walked back to your friend, it was official.
Will Byers had your phone number.

with you - (w.b.)
Tumblr media
gif is not mine!
author's note: this is my first fic, I hope it's not too bad. this takes place right after mike and will's little fight.
paring: (s3) will byers x male reader (i'm praying this timeline is okay)
warnings: nothing really, i hope fluff won't harm you.
word count: 528 im sorry its so short
Y/n means your name :)
--------------
"it's not my fault you don't like girls!"
that short sentence struck me harder than anything else could.
i just wanted to spend time with my friends. i just wanted to play dnd with them. but all my friends were kinda busy. busy with their girlfriends. all the time. even if they weren't with their girlfriends, they seemed like they didn't really want to do anything with me. as if my likings appeared childish to them.
take this, for example.
mike wheeler was one of my close friends. but ever since he got a girlfriend (which i have nothing against, she's a nice person), he stopped spending time with me.
but never my best friend y/n never did that to me.
y/n never turned down the offer to play dnd, and he always came to see me. y/n always saved me a seat whenever we went to the movies. when i was with him, i never felt left out. he made me feel loved and wanted.
so instead of going back to my own house, i found myself at his doorstep.
i knocked on the door.
"will, what are you doing without a coat, or an umbrella? you're soaked!" he exclaimed and grabbed my arm to take me inside.
"i wanted to see you" i told him.
"is it that bad that you forgot to wear a coat? was it bad enough that you couldn't wait until the rain stopped? what happened?" he asked me.
"mike, we got into a fight.." i repsonded
"you can tell me after you change your clothes, you're gonna get sick" gosh, he sounded like a mom. "change into what? i didn't bring extra clothes." i asked.
"you can change into my clothes, its all good." i thanked him, and went to his bedroom to get a pair of sweatpants and one of his t shirts.
i went back downstairs and sat next to y/n on the couch.
"i'm listening, you can tell me what happened"
"so basically, i kinda told mike that he was always with eleven more than he was with me. then he just said something"
"what did he say?"
"..."
"i won't judge you, will. you know that."
"i- he said it wasn't his fault that i didn't like girls.."
"oh.."
i was scared. the blood was rushing to my cheeks, and my heart was beating fast. did he know?
"so you like boys?"
"yeah.. i do.. i'm sorry y/n." tears were threatening to spill out of my eyes, i was getting ready for a harsh response.
but instead he said"sorry for what, will? there's nothing to be sorry for. because i'm not sorry"
i looked at him. was it true? or was he just playing with me? he pulled me into a hug, and whispered so faintly, that i almost couldn't hear it.
"i love you will."
"i love you too, y/n"
we both were crying. crying with joy, and crying just with the thoughts of what could have happened if other people found out.
"you make me feel safe. i always know i'm safe when i'm with you." i whispered to him.
--------------
and that folks, is the end of my first written fic.
tbh i always had this in my head and i just couldnt get it out until i wrote it. anyways love y'all !

The faint sounds of cicadas were no match for the busy streets in Hawkins, littered with children and teens alike, carrying each their Halloween baskets with the mission to get candy from every neighborhood in town.
Every step you’d take you’ll hear a joyous “Happy Halloween!” followed by getting their baskets shoved with different kinds of chocolates and candy.
And you were one of them. Smiling as you said your thanks, you walked away, wanting to go to the next of many houses.
Everybody had their costumes on, some you could recognize were in horror movies, some were heroes, and some were even dressed up as aliens and animals.
You however, had taken the decision to dress up as the Scarlet Witch.
You had this plan for the longest time, even begging your parents to let you get the materials so you could start working even before Halloween.
They agreed, and soon enough your efforts paid off.
You grinned at the people who gave you whole-hearted compliments on your costume, as well as you giving theirs.
Though with all the kids around, your eyes caught on a group, specifically dressed as the Ghostbusters as they laughed and complained about the cheap candy they got.
Your attention, however, seemed to focus on the one that held the huge camera.
He was the only one who rarely smiled, it seemed like something was off about him. That is until they came across another house, who had just been visited by other teens.
That’s also when you heard them shout something you didn’t expect.
It started when they lunged up on him repeatedly saying words along the lines of:
“Watch it, zombie boy!”
“Freak!”
“Weirdo’s come out to play, huh?!”
Then there was another one in a clown costume that took the final blow at him.
“Boo!”
Sending the boy flat on the ground along with his camera a few inches away, your senses suddenly became alert. It didn’t matter what they were shouting at him, the only thing on your mind was to help him.
The thing was, you hesitated. You saw him look around, but his look felt like he was in a whole new place he could wholeheartedly recognize, and it scared him.
Everybody seemed to mind their own businesses, his friends long forgotten about him as he shakily stood up.
You still held your ground, watching. Maybe he didn’t need your help, maybe he was only shaken up a bit and he’ll be fine.
But his body language compelled otherwise. He looked to be saying something as he started walking away, lost in the familiar streets of Hawkins.
Then he looked up, up at the sky. His shoulders suddenly seemed heavy as it heaved with every breath he took.
You looked at where he was glancing at, but nothing was out of the ordinary, it was bright out, filled with stars and clouds brushing the sky.
Then you glanced down and he was running in the opposite direction from where his friends were, camera forgotten on the cement ground.
“Hey, hey!” You began to shout, but the distance was too far away from him to even hear you, it only earned you a few weird looks.
You shake your head, deciding to finally take matters in your own hands as his friends were too busy getting their treats.
Running, you grabbed the camera and watched as he dipped below somewhere. You ran towards him, the weight of the camera slightly keeping you off balance as you ran for him.
You were met with stairs headed downwards and what looked to be an entrance of a basement. You looked back to see if any of his friends had seen what happened, but no one followed you nor him.
“Hey? Excuse me you dropped your camera…” You said in hopes of a friendly introduction.
You slowly stepped down, not wanting to alert the boy further. You could see the slight outline of his shadow. Finally reaching him, you were now suddenly unsure of what to do.
He was curled up, arms hugging his knees as his foot tapped alternatively, his eyes shut as if he was in some kind of nightmare.
He was muttering some words you couldn’t quite make out.
“Are you al- Ah!!“ You carefully placed a hand on his shoulder but that action only surprised him as he let out a gasp of surprise as you did as well, his hand shooting up to grip your wrists as his eyes were suddenly blown wide.
He looks around frantically, failing to catch his breath.
“Calm down, hey, calm down you’re fine! You’re okay!” You tried your best attempt at comforting someone you didn’t even know.
He didn’t answer, he gave only a distant look as he shivered, blinking a few times as his grip on you tightened every few seconds.
You were beginning to feel scared yourself, what if his friends came now and probably blamed you for what’s happening to their friend?
Then you remembered the breathing technique you have thought yourself whenever times get too rough. You hoped this would somehow work on this boy.
“Okay, okay let’s do something different- uh okay… why don’t you look at me, okay? Look at me.” You said even though you were nervous yourself. Gladly, the boy seemed to listen as his eyes locked onto yours so suddenly.
You opened your mouth and mimicked breathing. “Okay, follow me.. Okay? Breathe in in 3, 2, 1..okay good..” You say, breathing in, to your surprise it looked like he was following it. Thank heavens.
“Now, breathe out with me okay? In 1, 2, 3…” Breathing out, you continued.
The first few minutes helped with his shivering, then as more minutes passed by, he began to take control of his breath as his grip on your wrist loosened.
“Wh- where- am I? Wh- where’s-“ Will tried to speak.
Before thinking of it, you were already reaching out for your bag, thankful for the bottle of water your mom packed you with.
“Okay, try having a drink first then talk?” You offered as he took it, swallowing down half the water as he let out a relieved sigh after.
Only then Will finally came to his senses. He looked at you, then at your costume.
“You’re Maximoff, Wanda Maximoff.” He spoke akin to someone in awe.
You couldn’t help but smile at him, nodding. Tilting your head, you pointed at his name tag on his costume.
“And you, you must be Egon Spengler, am I right?” You teased.
“Yeah, I- I am.” He replied shyly.
“Your costume’s cool.” He compliments after a moment of silence between the two of you.
“I’ll have you know I’ve made it myself.” You proudly responded with a smile. “Preparing all these months just to use it in one day may not be as bad as I thought it would be..”
Will had found himself looking at you with a funny feeling in his heart.
“But that backpack of yours! It’s so cool! And you even have all the little details on it!” It was Will’s turn to blush.
“Thank you…”
“Oh and before I forgot!” You exclaimed, holding his camera up to face him. “You dropped this, I couldn’t leave it alone in the street, for sure your parents would be telling you off all night.”
Will nods, completely forgetting about the camera, but hey, at least he won’t suffer his mom and possibly Bob’s wrath, although he thinks he’d get a mouthful from Jonathan for losing such a valuable camera.
“I completely forgot about that, hopefully I’ve done a good job at documenting our trick or treating tonight, Bob won’t stop reminding me to record everything, he says its for the “memories”.” Will says.
You roll your eyes “I’m sure you did! Gotta admit that thing is more heavier than it looks, how did you manage to keep a straight angle!” You joked.
Will laughed with you, “That’s what we’re supposed to find out, I guess.”
Then you heard the dozen footsteps making their way down to where you and Will were.
“Will! Will!” You heard one of them shout. “You okay man? What the hell happened?!” Then another. “We’ve been looking everywhere for you!” Another.
“Mike! Lucas! Dustin!” Will greeted.
“Are you hurt?” The other one hurriedly went to his side, inspecting him.
“Is he okay?”
You were suddenly overwhelmed by his friends that you stepped aside, letting them have the room.
“Mike, don’t worry, I’m fine.” Will reassured what you assumed was Mike, then the others.
“I’m gonna get you home, okay?” You heard him say as he hoisted Will up.
You didn’t know why, but that simple phrase planted some kind of sadness in you. Will you ever see him again? You hoped so.
“Guys, I’m fine.. Really it’s nothing-“
“No its not, let’s go.”
“Okay we’ve got him-“
“No I’ve got him.” Mike said to the rest of his friends.
“Mike… Mike come on man.” The one with the curly hair said.
“No, you go and have some fun with your trick or treating, we’re going home.”
Before you forgot, you grabbed the camera, hoping to be of some kind of help, even though this Mike seemed to be a little angry.
“Hey- uh his camera...” You utter. Mike looked at you as if you were just someone in the way, he grabbed the camera from your hands and shrugged.
“Thanks.” He said flatly. Will looked at you with a kind of apologetic look before he was helplessly dragged off.
You awkwardly stood there with the rest of his friends.
“Hey, you.. We’re sorry about our friend there we didn’t know what has gotten into him.” One said.
“Yeah, he’s not always an ass.” The other followed.
“It’s nothing really… I- uh I guess I’ll go now, my parents are probably looking for me and yeah..” You just wanted to get out of there.
They were nice enough to bid you goodbye’s and you found yourself headed home.
But as you lay in bed that night, you still felt sad you didn’t had time to make friends with Will.
Great, moving into a new place and you’ve already failed at making friends before school started for you.
All you could do was shrug and cover yourself up with a blanket, closing your eyes shut and hoping for some kind of miracle tomorrow.
The school bell rang, signaling the start of another class.
For other students, Science felt like another boring subject to sit into, well that’s not the case for these four, not for Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will.
As the students found their seats, their Teacher, Scott, clapped his hands together in excitement. “Class am I happy to announce that you will be having another new student today!”
Then cue the whispers as the party also had whispers of their own going on.
“Who do you think it would be?”
Will stayed silent as he listened, he still couldn’t forget about the night before. The one with the Scarlet Witch costume that he stupidly forgot to ask what their name was.
“I hope not someone boring.”
Half of him wanted the new student to be you, the other half countered it, him believing it was a long shot.
“Now may I present, Dustin, another drum roll if you may,” Their teacher asked as Dustin obeyed, closing his books and tapping his hands repeatedly on it.
“Let’s welcome, (Y/N) (L/N)!”
Will slowly looked up and he could’ve sworn he almost leapt out from his chair. It couldn’t be.
Even with the limited view he had, he could definitely tell it was you, you were looking down on the floor, Will’s jaw hanged slightly open.
“Holy shit no way!” Dustin exclaimed beside Will. You were taken aback that you looked up and spotted the person you saw before, but then your eyes glanced over to the one beside him.
Your eyes widened as Will’s also did.
“You..” You whispered.
You froze as Will held the eye contact.
“Okay as I’ve taken it some of you have already met Them? That’s good news now (Y/N), kindly take that empty seat over there.. Thank you.” Your new teacher, Scott said, stretching his arm outwards to point where your designated seat was.
“(Y/N)?”
“Oh- sorry...” You apologized before quickly heading to your seat, not sparing anyone another glanced as you kept your eyes glued on your desk for the mean time.
Then Dustin and Lucas both gave Will a knowing look while Mike looked confused.
Waiting for class to be over felt like hell for The Party, they all couldn’t wait to go over to you and ask you to sit with them at the cafeteria.
Then it finally rang.
Dustin and Lucas both sprung from their seats, hurrying over to you as Will desperately tried to follow them without stumbling over his own two feet.
You were just about to pack your notes when a hand slamming down on your desk makes you jolt and look at who the hand belonged to.
It was the kid from yesterday and next to him was his other friend and the one that looked a lot like Mike.
“Are you the one from last night?”
“We’ve got a lot to ask you!”
Their words slowed down to a buzz as you felt another wave of nervousness.
Thankfully enough, Will seemed to sense this as he shoves Dustin and Lucas out of the way. Will tells them something that has their hands raising up in defeat.
“Hey there, you were the one wearing the Maximoff costume, right? Sorry- I promise they’re nice... I’m sure they didn’t mean to scare you.” Will’s voice registered in your ears as your eyes flickered to his.
“Definitely wasn’t expecting it...” You tried to play it off but you were still wary of his other friends looking at you.
Will turns around to look at them before looking back at you.
“This may be a lot but if you want, I could show you around! Minus these people of course.” Will jokes that earned a “Hey!” and “Rude!” from his group of friends.
“No, its alright, I- yeah I would like that.” You smiled at Will and you sworn the way he smiled back was even brighter than ever.
Before you know it, Will was already reaching his hand out for you.
“Where do you wanna start?”

ꜱᴜᴍᴍᴀʀʏ: Will had never stepped foot in a roller rink till today, he'd never been too good with his ability to balance. but maybe a pretty boy may come around and give him a hand...
☾⋆*:。 a/n: Will is such a sweetheart and deserves to have a cute little gay love life *sigh* he deserves so so much better hence why I just had to write this. this is a bit bad but I don't have much else to do but write
☾⋆*:。 details: SFW//Will Byers x m!reader//w.c: 1.8k
Tumblr media
It was shockingly easy to blend in at the roller rink, disappearing amongst dark shapes whizzing by and the distracting flashes of disco lights running along the floor and moving people. Just as long as you kept up with the crowd, rubber wheels coming down hard against the linoleum floors as you zipped through, you were no more than another person looking for a fun Friday night.
But you were betraying your own beliefs with how all you could focus on was the boy struggling to push himself forwards, his skates slipping beneath him on the smooth floor as he clung to the wall like a lifeline. Like Bambi’s first time on the ice, slipping and sliding on unsteady feet yet his Thumper was nowhere to be found, leaving him a deer in the headlights of the neon disco spotlights.
It was half off tonight leaving the roller rink rather busy and a few extra dollars crumpled in your back pocket. There were plenty of brand new faces, taking advantage of the deal to get some practice in without having to scour through the cracks in the couch for a few extra dollars. The busier the better it seemed because there were too many people for you to stand out even when you fell on your ass.
You’d never seen him around before and for a good reason, he seemed to have no idea what he was doing shuffling away from the edge of the rink on old and beaten up skates. His eyes were wide and you could see the panic in them even from across the rink, wearily taking in his surroundings as if all eyes were on him and his rather bad attempt at roller skating.
The song is changing as you near him and he hadn’t even spared you a glance, eyes glued to the dingy brown skates on his feet as he moves just barely an inch out. “Hey!” You call out, voice barely managing to be heard over the new and loud song blaring from the speakers.
His eyes snap towards you and all you could think about was how much like Bambi he was, eyes wide and sweet like a cute little fawn with a hint of unsureness behind them. You wave a hand, still rolling towards him at a slow pace as if you were actually approaching an easily startled creature. You give him a smile but he doesn’t become any less tense, a bit of a scaredy cat huh?
“You’re not really going to get anywhere if you keep shuffling around like that.” You wear your smile like it’s etched into your skin, worried about making the already nervous boy anymore scared as you approach him. He swallows thickly and nods, eyes dancing between you and the all too many people dashing by you both, obviously less concerned about what you have to say.
“If you want to move you don’t move your skate backwards, you push it to the side so that you can move forward. Like this-” You sweep your skate outwards, pushing yourself towards him and closing the remaining distance between you both. “See? Ta-daaa.” You throw your hands out over dramatically and earn a smile from him.
“I don’t think I can do that.” He speaks softly, words almost being drowned out by the loud music if you hadn't been standing so closely. The smile on his face is a mask of boldness, not translating to the fear filled and awkward little shuffle he was so content in doing. He wobbles a bit and your arm shoots out to steady him, shocking him more off balance than you had intended.
“Hey, hey don’t worry I’ve got you.” You try to ease his nerves as you hold him up, feeling like you were holding a kitten by its scruff as you cling to his sleeve. “Another piece of advice? Don’t stand so straight, you’ll bust your ass if you fall.” You giggle and a hint of realness pulls at his smile.
He almost seems the slightest bit embarrassed at how he was clinging to a stranger like this, averting his gaze and silently worrying once again about the people around the two of you. You don’t pay it any mind, having your fair share of experiences with stubborn boys who couldn’t be damned to be taught by another guy how to skate properly. Normally you’d let them go and hide your laughter at how out of control they were, falling over themselves. But this boy was a little different.
You held on tighter to his sleeve, not wanting to let go and have his feet slip out underneath him. Even despite his closed off nature you wanted to pry at the edges and learn a bit more about him, perhaps it was because he hadn’t brushed you off as sharply as most people do leaving you with an opportunity. Or maybe it’s the cute glint in his eye and how sweet he looked that lured you in.
“My name is Will.” You raise an eyebrow and his face scrunches up, obviously yelling at himself internally for such an awkward introduction. You steady him once again as his focus fades from the task at hand.
“Well, Will, would you like a little lesson on how to skate? Make it worth your money coming out here tonight?” You offer with a cheshire grin, hoping to convince the boy who you now had a newfound interest in into agreeing.
He sucks his lip between his teeth, chewing at it thoughtfully. It wasn’t much fun being left in the dust for the night, awkwardly spending the night struggling to even go around the rink just once. “If you don’t mind…”
“Wouldn’t be offering it if I did.” You laugh and let go of his sleeve, skating in front of him and turning to face him. He looks lost at the loss of contact and almost reaches out to grab for you again, his hand falling back to his side when a thought crosses his mind. “Can I hold your hands?” You ask, hoping to actually get him to take you up on the offer.
A moment of hesitance and a bit of worry resides in his doe eyes, snatched up and lost when the bright lights avert from his face. There’s a worry clinging to him like a weight and you offer your hands out in hopes to calm his nerves, waiting for his ever so slightly shaky hands to hold yours. Will wipes them on his pants quickly, then interlocks his fingers with yours.
His hands are clammy, awkward and unsure as if he’d never held another person's hands before. You squeeze his hands tightly in yours to provide a sense of security, a silent way of telling him that you won’t let him fall and he returns the action. Sweeping your foot out, you begin a slow pace backwards as you pull him along. “Just try to do what I told you, I’ll keep you steady.”
He follows your instructions carefully, crossing his legs and almost stumbling but you hold onto him tight. He’s shaky, wheels getting caught on the floor and leaving him on unsteady feet as he tries to keep up with you. Everyone zips by so fast but you both take your time, caught in your own bubble of slowed time as you both carefully make your way around the rink. Soft words of encouragement tumble from your lips with each time he manages to propel himself forward and you don’t miss how his grin grows.
He keeps apologizing with every slip or stumble, sorry’s becoming the only thing you can hear above the music and merging with the lyrics. You just laugh it off, you hadn’t been much better when you first began. “You’re doing better than me, almost broke my ankle the first time I skated!”
His eyes blow wide at that. Will didn’t want to follow in your footsteps and you hold him tighter to reassure him that you won’t let that happen to him. “Did anyone help you learn how to skate?”
You blow a raspberry, shaking your head and carefully helping him round the corner. “Nope, did it all on my own. Had a rough time if you couldn’t tell.” You squeeze his hand and his fingers lightly trace the scars embedded in your palms. “Just so you know, don’t ever learn how to skate on concrete.”
“Good to know.” He smiles and finally looks you in the eye, his face illuminated by soft pinks and reds that dance in his own doe like eyes. For a quick moment you're entrapped in his honey sweet appearance, rosy pink lips pulled into a genuine smile as he looks at you with a saccharine admiration. He catches your gaze dropping to his lips before you can hide it. Your skin tingles, a shared electricity between you both that no one else in the place seems to notice but it's all you can feel.
Your mouth falls open slightly, a question stuck on your tongue that doesn't seem to roll off. You don't even notice how much you'd leaned back to take in his appearance till you feel yourself tilting too far back, the look of terror filling his once soft eyes again and the world around you seems to go rushing by. You grasp at him in a disastrous attempt to stay on your feet, skates shooting out from underneath you as you drag him down with your falling self.
You both slip and stumble, physics betraying you and you hit the floor with a painful thud, your breath rushing from your lungs and Will crashing down on top of you. You can feel the blood rushing to your cheeks at the shame of bringing him down with you, more worried about that than the fact you were gasping for air that couldn’t fill your lungs.
You pry open your eyes to find Will almost too close for comfort, his breath hot against your cheek and making the air around you feel stuffy. He’s laughing though, genuine and unabashed as he tries to help you to your feet when he could barely get his skates beneath himself. It makes your insides go all fuzzy, turning your thoughts to mush. Sheepishly all you can do is return the laugh. “So glad my suffering is so funny to you.” Your heart is thundering in your ears at just how cute his laugh is, a bit of his true self leaking through the awkward facade he was wearing.
“Didn’t you tell me not to stand so straight?” He shots back, a bit tongue in cheek when he wobbles again.
You lean in closely, a smile wide on your lips and his eyes widen a bit. You can feel his breath against your skin, hot and nervous at just how close you were. “Sorry, got a bit distracted.” You laugh.
The lights fade to a dark purple but it’d take a fool not to notice how dark his face flushed.

Love Letters
It was a pretty dull Saturday and you decided to get the mail
Nothing much, but a love letter?
I opened the note carefully, there was ribbon and lace wrapped around it.
Dear y/n,
Okay, this is gonna sound pretty weird, but would you like to join our party? (This is Mike by the way)
Yeah, we'd like you to join because we'd like your help with the bullies since you help us with them anyways (I'm Lucas)
And we can share our food with you! Well, that's if you want and if Dustin agrees (Hi it's Will)
Ugh fine, if you join I'll give you some of my goods, no nougat though! That stuff is all mine! (Mr. Golden Smile)
And we have to be honest... You're quite pretty.
Signed: M.W. L.S. D.H. & W.B.
( p.s. meet at 2350 Maple St. To join :D )
I smiled to myself, a bunch of boys like me, I've never felt as loved. I'll go to the address tomorrow.
*Tomorrow.
I kept walking around the Suburbia's Hawkins until I finally found the right address.
I walked up to the house and knocked on it, I heard the rushing of footsteps and I boy opened it. It was Mike.
His eyes had stars in them and his lips parted.
"Hi Mike!" I said sweetly, Mike's parted lips turned into an open smile and he took me to his basement.
The rest of the boys gawked when they saw me, thinking I wouldn't hang out with some 'losers'.
"Oh my god.." Dustin said with his cute lisp.
"You came..?" Lucas questioned.
"Yes" I smiled, fidgeting with my fingers. The boys stared at me adoringly. I opened my arms and they ran over and hugged me, I embraced all the warmness they gave.
"Thank you! Thank you!" They shouted, I giggled and and shrugged.
"It's really nothing" I smiled "You guys are great huggers"
They smiled and blushed.
I sat down and they introduced me to DnD, I spent 7 hours playing? No, it had to be 8.
I just found my new best friends.

Hide and Seek
Byers Family x Byers!Gn!Reader
Genre - Fluff, Angst
Warning - Swearing.
Summary - When Y/n and their brothers go out to play hide and seek, Jonathan and Will are unable to find Y/N.
A/N - This is kinda short but it was supposed to just be a Jonathan one shot because I love Jonathan, he’s such a considerate and caring brother but I changed it.
Word count - 878
Tumblr media
The three of you had gone outside, Joyce was yelling on the phone to Lonnie and Jonathan didn't want you to hear anything so he suggested you go play outside.
"Why don't we play hide and seek, okay? I'll go first and you two hide, just don't go too far." Jonathan looked down at the two of you and waited for you to agree before he turned around and started counting. "One, two, three, four, five."
He heard the both of you run towards the trees around the back of the house, after thirty or so seconds he stopped counting. He walked towards the backyard slowly, "Ready or not, here I come." And then he began walking towards the forest where he knew the two of you had hidden.
Will had hidden himself in Castle Byers, it was his favourite place to hide but Jonathan always waited a couple of minutes before he found the boy. You were the hardest to find, you were extremely outdoorsy and competitive, and worst of all, you weren't afraid of getting dirty. Jonathan had once found you covered in dirt after you had yourself under a pile of leaves, another time your clothes were ripped horrifically from hiding in a thorny bush and he one found you minutes before you could hide yourself on the roof of the shed. Jonathan knew that you scoped out places to hide all the time, you took this seriously and he knew that giving you this escape helped when all your mom and older brother could worry about was how many shifts they needed to get to afford rent and food. He looked around for you, Will in tow but after fifteen minutes they'd split up, still looking for you.
The boy's looked under every leaf pile, they checked all of the bushes that they could find but you were nowhere to be seen. Jonathan was beginning to worry. After everything that had happened over the past few years he could never be 100% certain that you were safe and not being able to find you scared the crap out of him. "You won Y/N! Come out now, we need to go back inside." Jonathan was shouting, waiting for you to jump out from behind a tree and scare the shit out of him. "Fuck." He whispered as he and Will couldn't find a trace of you. Tears came to Jonathan's eyes at the thought that he could be responsible for you being in trouble.
Him and Will made there way back inside, they needed Joyce's help with finding you. Joyce looked stressed when the boys walked in but was no longer on the phone, she looked at the two boys and noted your absence. "Where's Y/N?" Joyce asked standing up and looking behind them, neither of them could answer. "Where's Y/N?" She asked again, more tension in her voice this time.
"We can't find them mom. We're playing hide and seek and I told them both not to go too far but, me and Will, we've looked everywhere mom, they're not there." Jonathan couldn't look Joyce in the eyes.
"Stay here you two." She pushed past the boys and made her way into the forest, she started calling out your name. Panicked.
"Y/N, where are you? You won you need to come out now." She yelled moving around the forest so you would hear her, a tear streamed down her face as she began panicking more. Behind her she could hear your laugh, Joyce turned around but you weren't there. Again, your laugh directed her, she looked up and you where there. Sat in a tree, shrouded in leaves, perfectly safe. "Oh my God, get down from there. Why did you climb up there, you could have fallen out of the tree if you weren't being careful." She scolded you as you made your way down the tree.
When you reached the bottom of the tree you saw how upset your mom was. She wrapped her arms around you and held you to her chest. "I'm sorry mom, I just wanted to win the game." You explained.
"Oh, you won alright. Let's get inside, Jonathan was freaking out when he couldn't find you." You felt even worse knowing that your brother was only trying to make you feel better over your dad. Joyce walked back but you moved quicker, wanting to put your brothers thoughts at ease.
Jonathan was sat at the table and Will was on the couch, both of them turned their gaze towards the door when it opened. Jonathan hugged you first and Will joined in when he reached the pair of you. "Oh my god, where were you?" Jonathan's voice was horse, it sounded like he wanted to cry.
"In a tree." You smiled a cheeky smile and he had to fight back a smile of his own. You knew he wasn't going to be mad at you.
Will laughed at you. "You hid in a tree? Oh my god. How did you even get up there?"
You shrugged your shoulders. "I climbed." You said sarcastically.
Jonathan smiled at your answer and Will laughed again. "You're such a loser." The younger brother spoke.
"Well, actually I won."

hii guys :) im back after like ages cuz i low-key fell in love w stranger things and will so here u go. lmk if i should continue it :)
Hopeless
will byers x fem!reader
“Will, man, give it up.” Mike rolled his eyes at his friend.
Wills chin was rested in the palm of his hand, his cheeks slightly flushed. His eyes followed a certain (y/h/c), as she took a seat on a table across the room.
“Is he still not over (y/n)?” Max laughed, watching Wills ears perk at the sound of her name. “She’s totally outta your league. And she has a boyfriend!”
“(y/n)? I wasn’t looking at her. I don’t even like her that much.” Will grumbled indignantly.
The whole table smirked at each other and laughed.
“What? I don’t!” Will frowned at them.
“Sure ya don’t, buddy.” Dustin smiled, faux belief written all over his face.
“Why don’t you just tell her, man? It would get things over quickly.” Lucas asked. “Maybe then you’ll be able to get over her.”
“Guys. I don’t like her. She’s just, like, a family friend. She barely comes round anymore, either. And, as Max pointed out, she has a boyfriend.” Will did not like saying the end of that sentence. He glanced as the girl stood up to dump her tray.
She was wearing mom shorts with a patterned jumper that stopped above her bellybutton. She looked really pretty. He made eye contact with her, and he looked away instantly.
“Is she walking over?” Mike asked.
“What?” Will sat straight up, trying to find (y/n) again. Mike laughed at his eagerness.
“You’ve got it bad, Will.” Max said, also trying to look for the girl.
“Oh my god, she actually is.” Dustin spotted her.
“What? I was joking.” Mike looked confused.
Sure enough, the prettiest girl in their year stood at the head of their table. The party sat in stunned silence, occasionally looking over to Will. He looked so red, like he was about to explode.
“Hey guys! Uh- I hope I didn’t interrupt anything, but it’s my birthday next month, and I’m having this party. And I was gonna invite Will, since we’ve been friends for ages, but then I thought, why not invite you all!” She grinned at the table, and even though he wasn’t standing, Will felt his knees go weak at the sight.
“It’s ok if you don’t want to go, I wasn’t sure if you would, but I would love to have you there!” She placed 5 sheets of paper onto the table.
Nobody said anything for a minute.
“Thank you, (y/n).” Max rolled her eyes at the boys.
“Of course!” Somebody yelled her name from across the room. “Oops, I’ve gotta go! Bye.” She smiled.
“No way did we just get invited to a party.” Dustin looked amazed.
“I think we might’ve done.”

requested by: anonymous, I hope you like this ✨🌻💛
pairing (platonic): Will Byers x reader
warnings: none
feedbacks are always appreciated!
REQUESTS ARE CURRENTLY OPEN
“Did we do something wrong?” your best friend, Will, questioned, as the two of you sat on the couch that was in his house's living room.
“What do you mean?” you inquired, to which the dark-haired boy responded “So many bad things have happened and are still happening to us and those we love. But what have we done to deserve all this?”. It was clear that he was about to cry, and you engulfed him in a hug.
It broke your heart to see your best friend in this state: sad, frustrated, broken even. You couldn't do anything but give him emotional support, but it wasn't easy since all that had happened to him had also happened to you and you couldn't put a finger on the reason why you had been chosen to suffer in such a way.
“Will, we're just— we're just an easy target. That's what we are. We've suffered a lot in our lives, and that's a fact. But that doesn't mean we're weak. We have lots of friends that support us and that might give us the help we need in the right moment” you stated, gently stroking Will's hair as to try to calm him down. That didn't help, as the boy started crying almost immediately.
“Good things will come, Will. I can assure you” you reassured “I will make sure of that”.
But how could you assure a happy ending when Hawkins held many surprises and lots of things were still unknown?

requested by anonymous: IRIS ''do you wanna make out?'' Will Byers “I don’t want you to be disappointed.” Male reader The readers all nervous and insecure especially with Will being so forward and not knowing what he’s doing to him (making him all flustered), Will helps him out. (Will kinda acts like and makes the reader flustered like he did in the nightmare themed Drabble)
word count: 400
author's note: thank you so much for this request! i tried to incorporate as much of it as i could. i haven't written much for the 1k celebration event i myself am hosting LOL but with this i'm going to start doing more!
pairings: will byers x male!reader
Tumblr media
"Do you wanna make out?"
You jump a little at the blunt question, still not used to how forward Will can be sometimes, when he really lets his guard down around someone. It's a recent discovery, something you only learned after approximately three dates with him. You're over at his house, leafing through an old comic book as he sits next to you on the bed, sketching. The deft, clever strokes of his pen on paper had captured your attention a long time ago, but you didn’t think he had noticed.
Laughing a little nervously, you respond truthfully, “I don’t know, I don’t want you to be disappointed.”
“Why would I be?” Will wonders out loud, carefully capping his pen before setting both it and the sketchbook aside.
“It’s just-” you start, words flowing out of your mouth before they even register in your brain, “I’ve never made out with someone before, I kind of don’t know how it works? It just seems so complicated to me. How much tongue am I supposed to use? When am I supposed to use it? And how? And what if I’m bad at it, what if-”
“You’ll get better,” Will interrupts you, making you flush as you notice his sudden proximity to you, the hand he raises to caress your cheek, the artistic, lithe fingers of his other that trace their way across the back of your neck into your hair, “I can help you practise.”
You only have two seconds to prepare yourself, gasping a quick breath of air before Will steals it from you, kissing you delicately, devastatingly slow. Your body curls closer to his instinctively, hands grasping for purchase in what they can find, be it his thigh, elbow, or shirt. Your mind is filled with nothing but a pleasant hum, warmth expanding in your chest as Will pulls you even closer to him, tangling your legs. All your worries dissipate as Will parts your mouth easily, exploring it confidently while his hand strokes your cheekbone soothingly, his lips pillowy and hot against yours.
Will finally lets you breathe, releasing you from the kiss, but not letting you move too far, eyes scrutinising yet fond as he takes in your swollen lips and mussed hair.
“6/10,” is what he finally says, trying to keep a straight face, “You’re right, you’re pretty bad at it. You need a lot more practice.”
“Why, you little-!” you explode, tackling him onto his back, your angry insults cut short by his peals of laughter, but you can’t find it in yourself to be upset. Not even a little bit.

Y/n means your name :)
______________________________________________________________
it’s been a year, the longest time i’ve ever been away from will. even if i call him frequently, it’s never the same as really being with him in person. i finally get to see him again! me, mike, and his monstrosity of a “californian outfit” already arrived with our suitcases. i looked around for will, and ran towards him and hugged him.
“will! i missed you!”
“i missed you too y/n, it’s been so long.”
“i also have something for you, will” i said as i pulled out a pack of oil paints. i knew he loved drawing and painting.
“woah! thanks y/n, i love it, i also have something for you.” he told me.
he gave me a rolled poster/canvas. i know whatever he painted would be amazing.
“it’s a painting i made for you.. i know its not muc-”
i shushed him. “what do you mean it’s not much? i know you put in a lot of effort and love into this. i know i’m gonna love it. i’m putting this up on my wall!”
“it’s better to open it up when we get back home, i wanna see your reaction when we get there.” he suggested to me.
while this was happening, mike was giving el the flowers he got for her. over and over again while we traveled, mike kept asking me if he picked the right colour and this and that.
we left for the byers’ house.
when we arrived, murray (who came to visit) and joyce were already there.
“y/n and mike! it’s been very long since i last seen you guys. you both grew very fast!” i honestly loved ms byers, she was always very kind to us, and a very motherly and understanding person.
and murray, murray was pretty funny as well. even if murray can be silly at some points, there will be times where he will have heartfelt conversations that show he actually cares.
jonathan too. he helped me and will a few times on homework, and i see he’s a good brother to will.
after greeting everyone, we went upstairs.
i had will’s painting in my hand.
“i’m gonna open it” i said excitedly. i pulled on the twine rope, and there revealed a beautiful painting of will and i during our last dnd session.
“will! this is beautiful, i love it!”
“i’m glad you do”
i hugged him, and gave him a little smooch on the cheek afterwards, with this his cheeks turned a light pink.
we had dinner, changed into other clothes, and slept. i ended up sleeping on another mattress in will’s room.
murray popped in last minute, and said a surprising little line.
“i know what you are byers.”

i hope this was okay for a part 2! this was requested by a user in the comments, thank you for all the likes on my first fic! i never seen it coming! love you all. take care!

Will the Brilliant
Pairing: Will Byers x Fem! Reader (could be read as platonic or romantic!)
Summary: You follow Will into the forest with the mission to comfort him.
WC: 1.1k
Warning/s: arguments, mike being mean :<, angst, hurt/comfort
GIF is not mine, credits to the owner!
Tumblr media
“Move!” You heard the voice of Will saying as he made his way up the stairs.
“What are y- hey- Will!” Was the first thing you said as Will sped past you, followed by a very guilty looking Mike following him up as you were just about to go down. You were taken aback by the sudden change in the atmosphere as you slowly made your way down into the basement.
“Lucas, what happened? I thought we were playing?”
“I know- but Mike and I messed up and now Will’s mad at us...” Lucas sighs. “What did you guys do?”
“We didn’t mean it!” Lucas said before you ran upstairs, hoping to talk to Will. You almost reached the garage when you noticed the heavy rain occurring. Then followed by the shouting.
“-For what? So you could swap spit with some stupid girl?!”
“El’s not stupid! It’s not my fault you don’t like girls!”
You knitted your eyebrows, already stepping foot out to meet them.
“I’m not trying to be a jerk, okay? But we’re not kids anymore, I mean- what did you think? Really? That we were never going to get girlfriends? That we’re just going to sit in my basement all day and play games for the rest of our lives?” Mike said. You made eye contact with Will before he swallowed and spoke.
“Yeah, I guess I did. I really did.”
“Will!” You ran, calling him out but he was already on his bike, speeding in the rain.
“What the hell Mike?! Why would you say that?!” You almost shouted at him.
“I didn’t mean to!”
“Mike, I get it if you always want to spend time with El and that you want her to forgive you, but please, Mike’s been through a lot, he’s suffered enough. If you didn’t want to hang out with him then you should’ve said earlier instead of dragging  our asses for hours in the mall.” You spat.
“I-“
“Save it, Mike.” You said as you were already holding onto your bike, and soon enough you were pedalling out of the Wheeler household.
You squinted your eyes as the rain poured, drenching yourself in the process.
“Will! Will!” You tried shouting out for him but it seemed impossible as thunder roared above you. Where could’ve he went? Surely he won’t go straight to his house since he’d get a real scolding from Joyce and Jonathan.. Then he’d go to...
A bulb has lit in your mind as you tried your best to keep your eyes open, making a turn, memorizing the all too familiar way.
You could only curse the gods as the rain poured even harder as you reached the entrance to the forest.
Dropping your bike, you started to run, hoping you were right. Hoping that he was in Castle Byers.
“Will!” You shout out, approaching your destination.
You could spot him grabbing a log before swinging it at Castle Byers, effectively hitting it as flakes of wood erupted.
“Will! What are you doing?!” Running to him, you tried to take the log from his hands, but he wasn’t letting go of it any time soon.
“What does it look like I’m doing (Y/N)?!” He screamed, the pain in his voice was evident as he tried to swing the log again, but you tried to hold it down.
“Will, stop! Please let’s talk about this!” You beg. Will stared at you hardly before yanking the log from your grip.
“No, no! I know it was stupid of me to think that we’d still be stuck in that damn basement playing some stupid board game!” He shouts, another hit at the fort. “I should’ve thought better! This, all of this,” He points with his log. “This is stupid, everything in it is stupid!” He takes another swing, effectively knocking the top down. “Maybe I should’ve agreed with mom to move..” You could quietly hear him mumble.
You regained your senses and tried to take the log away from him again, not wanting to cause further damage and to possibly talk some sense into him.
“Will, you have to understand, its not your fault, okay? A lot happened to you, us, but hell, I wouldn’t want to go a day without having you back here.” You began, Will went quiet as both of you were completely drenched in the rain.
“I am sorry if we’ve been ignoring you, me, mike, and Lucas. I don’t even get to have a decent conversation with them without mentioning what to do with their girlfriends...” You slightly chuckle, hoping to lighten Will’s mood.
“Yeah I get it sure girlfriends are pretty cool but friends are better too, like you! You have so much in you, Will, don’t let them ruin your mood now, if you want I could talk some sense into them, which I’m very happy to be of service.”
You could spot the edge of Will’s lips curl up into a smile, before shaking his head and sighing.
As if on cue, the rain slowly started to die down, allowing you to see each other clearer.
“You’ll be alright okay? I know things are a lot and heavy for you to take in but I’m here, Will, you can talk to me, or if you want we can visit the mall, I heard they’ve got a new arcade spot there and possibly talk your mom over with spending the rest of the day there..” You hoped.
Will slowly nods, before finally looking at you.
“I- it just feels like they’re too busy with their ‘girlfriends’ to even ask how you’re doing...” Will says in which you respond with a laugh. “Tell me about it, but hey look on the bright side, we could beat their high scores in the arcade, that’ll tell em something huh?”
“Yeah, that’ll tell them something.” Will agreed with a smile.
“That’s settled then, arcade it is, but how are we going to explain this to your mom?” You say, gesturing to the both of you.
“Let’s just say we went to go for a bike then it rained unexpectedly,” Will laughs. “Then you could possibly stay over with me and then we’d head over to the arcade tomorrow!”
“What about my clothes?” You inquired.
“Then uh- I’ll let you borrow some of mine or mom’s! Our style is not that bad I promise.” Will said excitedly.
You felt a weight being lifted off your chest as Will’s excitement came back with his smile. You had to admit, there was never a good feeling than helping out a friend in need.
“Oh is that so, Byers?” You teased. You could see a faint redness on his cheeks as he nods.
“Yup, so we’d better get a move on! Let’s go!” Will says, pushing you playfully towards where your bikes were.
The rest of the evening was spent with Joyce scolding the both of you but nonetheless agreeing to letting you and Will hang out in the mall tomorrow.
It was going to be one of the memories you and Will would share for the rest of time.

The brisk Autumn air rushed past your face, filling your lungs with air that chilled you to the bone but made you feel so alive. With no blaring hot sun like the summer or the icy bite of snow in the winter, you’d rolled your bike out of its hibernation in the garage to ride it around. Driver’s license be damned, you grew to appreciate the after school bike rides through the winding asphalt streets.
Shifting the pedal backwards, the bike comes to a halting stop before a boy kneeling in the fallen leaves. You could recognize that bowl cut anywhere, the first thing you’d picked out from the crowd of freshmen flocking into school years ago. Horrible haircut aside, he was sweet and kind with a sharp sense of humor that sent you reeling the first time it showed its colors.
There was no Hellfire meeting today, you would’ve never heard the end of it at lunch today if there was. And Will wasn’t one to be stuck after school with detentions.
“Something up with your bike?” You squat down beside him and he flinches, too caught up in his confusion to notice your arrival.
He opens and closes his mouth like a fish out of water as he collects his thoughts, motioning to his bike with a now more neutral expression. “My tire popped, I thought it just got deflated but I found a hole.” You can already see him adding up the cost of getting a new wheel in his head with his furrowed brows. “I need to get home soon but it’ll take me forever without my bike.”
The buses had already left so Will was stranded, and you knew his family worked almost too much to come pick you up. “Shit.” You mumbled, not entirely meaning to say it aloud but it slipped past your lips.
“Yeah, shit.” Will huffs out a laugh, far from genuine. You reached out to check the wheel yourself, fingers brushing against his and you shivered slightly. His hands were freezing cold, shaking ever so slightly as he dug his thumb into the hole in the rubber wheel. You stole a glance of his worry filled face, his cheeks dusted with a light rosy pink from the chilly air nipping at his skin. He was barely dressed for the weather and your own worry grew with every subtle shiver.
He was chewing on his lip, a mixture from nerves and trying to keep his teeth from chattering. With a sharp sigh, you pull your knitted mittens off and shove them against his chest. “Here. Now come on.” Leaves crunch under heavy boots as you rise to your feet, rounding towards your bike and pulling it from its spot on the ground. You toss a leg over and sit, patting the back of the bike. “Hop on.”
“What?” Will looks at you like you’ve gone mad and you can’t help but laugh.
“Come on, you can ride on my bike and I’ll bring you home. You can call your mom and have her pick up your bike on the way, you need to be back soon don’t you?”
Will’s nervousness cracks for once and he allows himself to laugh, still toying with the mittens in his hand, only stopping when he realizes he’s tugging at the loose string of yarn. “I mean, I guess. I haven’t ridden on a bike with someone in forever. Do you think I’ll even fit?”
“Don’t know till you try.” You pat the seat one more time. You’re praying that he says yes, a bit of company on the ride home was something you wanted. And with the one and only Will Byers? Your face split into a wide smile in anticipation.
“Fine, just take it easy on the turns.” Will smiles and carefully shuffles over, kicking up leaves then swinging his leg over the bike like yours. He slips on the wooly soft mittens over cold bitten fingers that ache to the bone. They’re comfortable and bring him instant warmth, they feel like that one sweater he loves when you wear it and hug him, wrapping him up and a gentle safety stitched together carefully with love.
You steady the bike, waiting for Will’s careful touch that never came. You purse your lips, your heart sinking a slight bit and shooting a look over your shoulder. “You gonna hold on or what?”
Will’s eyes blow wide with a hint of panic, you can practically see the thoughts swimming through his head behind the glassy brown orbs. His adam apples bobs and he does weird combination of a nod and shake of his head. “You won’t mind? I mean- yeah but only if-”
You roll your eyes. “God Byers, unless you want a first hand experience of face planting into the ground then I’d hold on.” Your heart turns light when he cautiously wraps his arms around your waist, gripping tightly to his own sleeves and very lightly pressing his chest against your back, careful as if he’s making sure to leave you an inch of space. “Maybe it’ll help you warm up.” You tack on and hear his breath catch in his lungs, kicking up the kickstand and rolling forward before he could really react.
Your shoes catch on the pedals and you both wobble down the driveway of the school, slow but growing steadier by the minute. The cold breeze of Autumn has returned, turning your eyes wet but it felt good, the chilly contrast of that and that sappy warmth of Will Byers clinging onto you. His previous worries had seemed to melt away once the bike had started rolling, now pressed firmly against your body and chin tucked in the crook of your neck.
You gnawed at your lip, tasting bitter metal on your tongue soon enough with a sharp bite. Will wasn’t even doing anything, he had gone quiet since he hopped on the bike, allowing himself the silence to admire the golden colors of the trees around you two of the cinnamon like smell that stuck in the air. Jack-o-lanterns decorated the many porches you cycled past, gruesome expressions staring into the street.
“Isn’t that a dragon?” You hum, squinting at a particularly well made jack-o-lantern.
“I think so?” Will leans forward, his cheek almost pressed against yours and you can feel the soft coldness of his skin. He adjusts his grip, holding onto your jacket in a knuckle tight grip. Both of you know the other has noticed it but no one minds it enough to say anything.
Will had always been cute, he was also soft smiles that turned your insides to mush and sweet gestures that bounced around your head all week long. When he held your hand under the lunch table after a rather stressful day or swiped the paint from your cheek during art class you felt yourself falling a bit more for him each time. He had jokes that were quick and sharp like a blade, ones that’d take you till hours after the conversation to think up.
Will was sugar and spice, he left a sugary taste on your tongue and a sappy feeling in your gut whenever you both hung out. You couldn’t push it away even when you tried, he was addictively sweet and you found yourself not getting enough from your hushed conversations in class and days spent lounging around in each other’s bedrooms.
Those words popped into your head a handful of times, and each time you pushed it down like it was a bitter insult. It wasn’t the right time, it was never the right time for you to say it no matter how often it bubbled up uncontrollably in your throat. Will Byers was your friend, it didn’t matter how many times you caught each other’s blushing faces or touches that lingered too long.
He was your friend. Best friend at most.
At the moment, his hand was lingering at your stomach, jacket crumpled in his hand as he rubbed his thumb over the soft material. The crunch of leaves under the wheels and the subtle whir of your bike was all you could focus on to distract yourself, the warmth of your face was a feeling you hated on a cold day but you could do without it in this moment.
You spotted his house in the distance, slowing down a bit as your bike cruised down the Byers driveway towards the front door. There weren't any cars in the front and just from the feeling in the air it felt empty. The brake squeaked and whined, coming to a delayed stop and Will hesitated slightly before clambering off quietly, his leaving a fading warmth on your stomach and you silently mourned the loss of him against you.
“See you tomorrow?” You search for a way to make the silence less awkward, giving him a slight wave that he returns.
“Yeah- see you tomorrow.” His smile seems a bit forced, like he's trying to cut himself off with a quick and simple good bye. He lingers for a moment, hands clenching and unclenching by his side before he starts off towards his front door. Sticks and leaves crumple under his shoes as he takes a few steps away, pauses, then turns back around.
For a moment you wonder if he was forgetting something, had he not taken his house key with him this morning? Or did he leave one of his books behind with his bike on accident? Words hang from his mouth but he can't get them out, his face twitching and nose scrunched up ever so slightly. Your heart flutters at how cute his confused expression was.
He starts forward, fumbling anxiously with the mitten on his hand. Your mouth falls open. “Hey you don't need to give-”
His hand, now missing a mitten but warm and soft, cups your cheek gently as he leans in. His lips pressing against yours cut you off and all words slip from your short circuiting brain, sparks flying as you immediately surge forward into the kiss. His lips are so soft, as careful and as sweet as the rest of him, plump and soft and they slot together with yours just perfectly. There's still a hint of hesitation, his inexperience shining through the way your noses knock together but you couldn't care less with how intoxicating the kiss was.
He pulls back, eyes flickering back and forth like he's too scared to look you directly in the face. Ashamed and scared you'd hate him, but you'd never felt warmer than in that moment. You feel cold without him, the Autumn wrapping you up in its chilly arms the minute you both pulled away. “Thank you,” he croaks. “Thank you for the ride home.”
He smiles and the last functioning part of your brain makes you smile back, eyes crinkling much like his own do. He spares one last glance before running up the stairs to his door and inside.
Your hand balls up, suddenly noticing the wooly feel of the mitten in your hand. Still warm from Will, only one can be found. In his awkward panic he’d only managed to give you the one mitten. You smile.
You'll have to get that other mitten back from him sometime…

Yandere Byler x Y/n Headcanons
Byler x Y/n
Requested by: Anonymous!
Same old Yandere, but I think I can do it.
Mike and Will were on a neighborhood walk until they saw you.
They looked at each other and then back at you, and the rest was history... Until they found out you were getting hella creeped out by them.
Mike and Will didn't understand. A poly relationship would be great! But you weren't into them. You felt grossed out by their advances.
They both said they wanna stick their dicks in you and cum at the same time, to have twins that looked like both Mike and Will.
You felt like puking.
Mike and Will absolutely adore you. You're a precious gem in their eyes and nothing would take them away from you. NOTHING.
They've killed lots of people who wouldn't move out of the way so the two could see you. Goddamn it, they don't want anyone but you!
It's not that you don't like poly relationships or gay people, it's just how forceful Mike and Will are and how it scares you and freaks you the fuck out and how you wanna get away.
But let's be honest, from that first look, your fate was already sealed...
