Escaping peril has to be my favorite Joy Ang cover. The colors, the movement, the personality. AUGH.

Here's just the dragons and just the background. I wanted to show a little more stuff from the book so I added the arena and the field of white flowers Peril goes to with Chameleon. The storm comes from the scene where Scarlet fights Ruby/Tourmaline for the throne. The lighting was sorta inspired by John Martin's plagues of Egypt paintings where he uses the light in the sky to symbolize good and evil. I don't know if it worked out or not. I liked it.

also the whole thing with the scavengers/ humans makes the story seem... a bit cluttered? like up till this point its been about queen wasp and how shes a dick but now suddenly weve got this new plot point about scavengers halfway through?? like how is this relevant?

Just gonna really quickly challenge all the artists that follow my blog (or just see this in general) to pick out an animal and draw it as a wof dragon. Like draw the dragon as funky as you can- make a real complex hybrid- whatever just make it as similar to that animal as possible.

Anyways, I was not expecting to get so many recommendations. Thank you though if you did send me one!
