i love how kpop fans love to change the narrative once an idol is accused of doing something bad. like, they could be the most loved idol in the world, but the second they're accused of something, everyone will be like "i always knew they were bad" "i never liked them" "they were irrelevant to the group anyways"...

but my point is, i think it's pointless to try and say no one ever liked him and that he was never doing anything good for the group when it's factually not true. you can be angry at him and cancel him and want him as far away from the group as possible while still acknowledging how much he contributed to the group while he was still in it.

"Face," which was released as a debut song on March 15, 2012, is going through a speedy chart reversal after ten years because of SNS. Though fans are welcoming the chart reversal with joy, the group's disbandment has also made it a rather regretful situation.

The group that debuted with "Face" was the five-member boy group NU'EST. NU'EST debuted on March 15, 2012 with the single album "Face" but it did not garner as big of a reaction as other rookie groups at the time.

At the time of their first debut, they promoted as five members composed of JR, Aron, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren, though after about a year, Chinese member Jason was added to the group and they promoted as six members under NU'EST-M.

Currently, many people are keeping NU'EST's "Face" alive through Tiktok and Instagram as though it was a dance challenge. Since the song became famous after 10 years, more people started looking for its original singers. Naturally, NU'EST was mentioned and many people came to learn about the current state of the group.

Although most people accepted that NU'EST was a disbanded group and simply uploaded videos, NU'EST's fans would explain in greater detail and the truth of their chart reversal became known. It was through this that many people felt their regrets.

A popular celebrity from NU'EST

On February 24, 2017, NU'EST announced their suspension of activities as four members would appear on Produce 101 Season 2. The members who decided to participate in Produce 101 Season 2 were JR, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren.

This was where Minhyun was selected to be in the final lineup of Wanna One, and NU'EST had the chance to be known once more. Without Minhyun, the remaining members resumed activities as NU'EST W.

Called "monster rookies," Wanna One was an eleven-member boy group (including Hwang Minhyun) that received enormous attention from the public. They were also the first singers who debuted in Gocheok Skydome.

Groups who were chosen through Mnet survival programs showed a trend of possessing an explosive popularity and fandom. IOI, who debuted through Produce 101, were in a similar situation.

NU'EST JR (Kim Jonghyeon) has moved companies to Evermore and debuted as an actor and solo. He is promoting the release of his first mini album and solo debut, "MERIDIEM."

NU'EST Aron (Kwak Youngmin) is currently working independently without a company. A native of LA, he left his company and decided to go solo. Having had several years of experience as a radio DJ, he has expressed that he has started preparing for his first solo activities on his podcast.

NU'EST Baekho (Kang Dongho) has re-signed with his current company Pledis Entertainment. The name "Baekho" was given to him by After School's Uee. Baekho is continuing his solo activities after the release of his first mini album, "Absolute Zero."

I wasn’t aware Woojin was accused of sexual assault but I did some research and he provided proof of his innocence

And now things get complicated

Being falsely accused of sexual assault is traumatic for a man, I know it first hand. I’m gonna spare the details cause that’s not my story to share and I promised years ago that I will keep my mouth shut about it.

The issue might be with how they talk about this experience. Mind I haven’t seen the trailer.

If they speak about Woojin’s feelings about it while staying respectful of the victims of rape, it’s okay. It would be an issue if they would discredit the victims by saying „all women do is lie” or that women „overreact and try to scam men for money through false accusations”. That’s wrong.

The question is, were they mocking the issue or were they respectful and tactful

Because sexual assault is a topic that society avoids. I believe speaking up about something makes it more normal so making a movie, a song, a comeback trailer could be beneficial. It may make the victims’ lives easier. Because if we will talk about it, it will no longer be taboo, more women will feel safe, find the courage to tell their story and fight for justice. However it’s a traumatic experience and this topic has to be approached with caution

Hi, I just saw that Woojin thing someone else asked. So if you really want to look into the details of the allegations and how badly he was slandered, I highly recommend Everglowup's video on him. I think it's called how kim woojin became the villain of kpop. If I'm being honest with you, she's probably the only kpop fan YouTube channel I can watch just because I like how she explains all her points so even when she says something I don't necessarily agree with, I don't feel annoyed with her. Because I don’t think I’m going to journal about this one. Unnecessarily detailed as always

Finally, after forever I get to go to a seated concert. I got there a little before 5 because I wanted to hand out stuff. But they let us in like right before 5 so I never actually got to, whoops. But a lot of people had freebies! I ended up with so much stuff lol. I liked the venue. Free parking!!!

For soundcheck, they did Cherry and Red Up. Woong and Donghyun kept peeking out before it started. Suddenly someone screamed and we were all like ??? Woojin had a hawaiian shirt on lol. This is the first time phones were allowed during soundcheck so I took the opportunity to take pics then. Actually I filmed way more than I usually do. I guess because I was less concerned with ~seeing them with my own eyes~ like I usually am with my faves

The venue was only about half full. I know it must suck as an artist to see that but as someone who gets overwhelmed easily I appreciated how it didn’t feel crowded.

Their outfits were really pretty! There were actually more performances than I was expecting for a “fanmeeting.” I’ve realized the value in knowing the songs beforehand... I haven’t really listened to many of their releases in the past 1-2 years. But they did do two of my favorite songs, Blind for Love and Surreal. They also had a post-it note question session. Two girls were trying to get them to pick theirs so they screamed “we wrote in glitter pen!!” and Daehwi was like “I need to repent?” lmaooo but tbh that’s what I heard too. Oh but the first one they picked was Tina who I know has done events and stuff for them, it’s nice to see a dedicated fan get this chance! One of the questions was what’s your favorite dinosaur and Daehwi said he didn’t have one, I don’t remember the other answers. Whatever questions they picked, they invited those fans on stage and let them ask questions and stuff. There were 2 kfans picked and they kept their faces covered the whole time lol. One of them asked Woong to shake hands.

In the second half they also called up 4 fans from their tweets to the stage. They let 2 people ask questions. The first one asked about places to go to in Korea. The second asked if cereal is a soup. There were some divided opinions. BUT the funniest thing is that (all 4 took polaroids with AB6IX) when it was that girl’s turn, Woong said cereal is a snack (not soup) and then called cereal girl loooool.

They actually talked to the audience a lot. They took the time to read signs and there was someone dressed up as Ash. Oh there was also someone wearing Daehwi’s outfit from Rose Scent Kiss and he asked, “Where did you get that from?” and she said she made it. I think during the ending ment Woojin asked if we were ready and he was like “really?”

I came in holding an Woojin slogan but I’m a Donghyun fan now. He was the most engaged out of all them. The other 3 were definitely less so... I know someone (Daehwi?) mentioned the day before on pm that they were getting tired. I think that’s why Donghyun stood out so much while performing (in a good way), he was enjoying himself at least. Was kind of surprised with Woojin, he looked like he was just going through the motions. I didn’t see Woong that much but when I did he was cute. I felt like Daehwi was trying to be sexy a lot lmao. But I think he sang live the entire night!!

Another thing I want to mention is the lack of “kpop opportunists” (as I heard for the first time today lol). The people at the front knew all the fanchants and everything, and phones were up but not obnoxious (at least from my pov, in the back. It was the first time in a long time I didn’t have to crane my neck to avoid phones in my view!) I obviously can't say for sure everyone at the front was actually an abnew but the vibes were definitely more genuine than they have been. I'm really happy for those fans! I hope they had a good time.

Hi-Touch went super fast. Even faster than my Wanna One hi-touch. I think the order was Daehwi, Woong, Donghyun, Woojin? I wanted to tell Donghyun I’m his fan now but he definitely did not hear lol. I put my phone in my pocket to see if it would pick up anything and you can only hear them, you can’t hear me at all. So they for sure did not hear anything lol.

Overall I’m glad I went! I was able to get a VIP ticket for $100 (less than fv) so I think it was worth it. I bought my ticket a week before the show just in case something came up.

I thought I was seeing things when I first saw the oneus news today. They aren't my ults nor was ravn my bias (keonhee hello) but my friend loves him and I've had to console her all day.

Regardless of if it's true or not, or half true half a lie, it's B A D and I can't really see anything other than him leaving.

At first it read so much like Lucas' situation last year in NCT for me so I was a bit unsure, but there seems to be far more evidence. Also, I'm not one to discredit someone making such serious accusations. It should be taken seriously.

I don't really know how to feel. I was meant to see them live and I do like their music a lot and enjoyed his voice, and now it just feels... empty?

Not to mention it makes me scared. It may sound selfish (because it partially very much is), but it makes me wonder what other group is next. If there's anything else that someone I look up to has done that goes along these lines. It makes me feel sick. It makes me want to tune off anyone I may enjoy watching or listening to.

It just makes me wonder what else is secretly tainted and I HATE that. I really hope this situation is resolved and taken seriously by the company and that he leaves. And to anyone who loved ravn or oneus, I hope you're doing as well as you can right now 💕

i completely understand, tbh—i starting following oneus during their pre-debut days and then really got into them after their official debut in mid January of 2019, which was a really rough period for me since i had just lost my aunt a few weeks prior at the beginning of the month. i think my relationship with them was more of a comfort group than an ult, in a sense? even if after this news i do decide to continue listening to them (which, depending on what RBW decides to do, is still an option) that's the category they'd stay in, although i'm not sure how much comfort they'll offer.

i was also hesitant to talk about it here bc it did feel like the Lucas situation (which still has some contradictory points in my opinion/much less evidence for the case), but as soon as i saw the OP talk about how he gaslighted her and mentioned wanting to kill his ex-girlfriend i knew i had to speak up. on the writeblr side of Tumblr i've been gaslighted and threatened by several users over the years (all of whom i have blocked and reported), so ik how terrifying that can be in my own life. no one should have to go through that, especially at the hands of someone who claims to love them/wants to marry them in the future.

my Spotify library has been..... in limbo, during the last few hours, and i haven't touched a single song from them. it sucks, and it's not fair to the rest of the members, but this isn't like with Woojin or Wonho where we had circumstantial evidence (which was shaky at best and eventually proved to be downright false in both cases), or with Hanbin, where the evidence we did have was greatly blown out of proportion and the actual crime was much milder than we thought. this is a detailed list of allegations with electronic trails, and he has had his hands in most of the group's work. Blood Moon, which earned them several awards, opens the album with a prequel track—an absolutely gorgeous piece and some of their best work to date—where he raps through a lot of the lines with Leedo. i don't know if i'll be able to separate the art from this part of the artist, and frankly i don't want to think about that rn when everything is so fresh.

pls know, however, that you are completely valid in being worried about other groups—not a day goes by where there's a new scandal in the industry and i don't immediately think of some of my own biases, and i wonder if getting into k-pop was worth it. but you do not deserve to have your happiness taken away from you bc of things that have not happened yet (and may never happen) to people that you enjoy listening to.

at the time i'm answering this RBW has put out a statement saying that they're investigating the charges and taking them seriously, but they won't be commenting on anything else until the internal investigation is finished. even if he is proven innocent (which is looking to be more and more unlikely) he's pretty much ruined his career, damaged those of his fellow members, and ended years long friendships with other 4th generation idols. (CyA from onewe [oneus' sister band] privating all of the tracks they produced together and unfollowing him on SoundCloud is a pretty clear sign in my book that this is as bad, if not worse, as we think it is—they've been friends for years, and him taking this step [after most likely trying to confirm the details himself] means both bands are on very shaky ground.) i don't want oneus to disband—not when everything is finally starting to look up for them—but i want people to be held accountable for what they've done. if him leaving is equivalent to that, then let him leave. let him leave, and let the others live in peace. let them come to terms with this, and figure out what they want to do next. let them be able, in the future, to stand on their own two feet, so that fans can hear about oneus and think of their music and their accomplishments. not this.

people got SO upset about the billboard article and i feel like half of them didn't even read it. for people who don't know skz or don't really know anything about kpop i think it's a solid read.

I think a lot of people were expecting a SKZ only article that highlighted everything positive about their history, ehat they're doing now and what plans they have for the future.

This is the first time the guys have been featured in a United States magazine. Despite the large fanbase here, there are many who know nothing about SKZ or K-Pop (like you said). So getting a brief history was perfectly okay. Maybe mentioning Woojin by name wasn't their best idea (I refuse to censor his name because he's still a human and the allegations were proven incorrect), but they've since edited that out as well as the details regarding Hyunjin's hiatus. I think the edit is much better than before because it's a very brief, "by the way" moment. Does the hiatus suck to hear about? Yes, because I know we've all noticed he's more subdued than ever before, but it's part of SKZ's history and there is a time period of videos someone could come across where Hyunjin wasn't present.

And like I mentioned in my post, I think using BTS as a mention in this edit is perfectly valid because a lot of people have heard of BTS. I sadly did not read the original article with more mention of them, but I can say what they have now works to connect people to them through BTS.

I agree that this article is pretty solid. They really could have been more broad on who make up Stays because I really don't think a majority are teenagers. I think most fans are in their 20s and up. I could be wrong, but I have yet to meet a teenage Stay.

Personally, I think people saw teens and tweens and were immediately turned off the article, so as they read, it didn't get better. Of course, the edits have made it better for when I read it, but I really don't think it's that bad. When I read it, I immediately went in with the mindset of, "I don't know these guys, but I enjoy music, so who are they?" It made the article interesting. Could there have been more comments from the guys? Yes. Could we have gotten a bit more on the concerts? Sure, why not? People have to remember that even though we have known about SKZ and purchased their albums for a while, they have been non-existent (for the most part) in the United States showbiz until Oddinary and the partnership with Republic. Maybe mention of their previous albums or even title tracks would have beem nice, but overall, people overreacted. Even with the original article, I think people got way too angry. Some comments were polite in telling Billboard that the article needed changing, but a lot of people got way too angry about it.

Sorry I went on a whole thing when this is a long version of me saying that I agree. 😅 Thanks for your input! Feel free to add more if you want! I really enjoyed looking at this article as a journalist!

NEVERMORE; AN ANNOTATION chapter 2 (no place for you here)

Summary

The chapter opens on a series of messages between two unknown entities, confirming 'eight acquired' and the command to 'find the glitch and break him'. This is followed by a quieter conversation between three unknown entities that are implied to be different to the first, asking 'do you hear the song he sings in the dark?' One of them is curious, caught up in the wonder of hearing a song for the first time in a while. The other two are more pragmatic, demanding that they do not listen.

We're introduced to the situation Stray Kids find themselves in through several POVs. Chan wakes up in a garden of silver plants and a black sky when he sees a red flower growing within the hedge. An unseen machine speaks in his head, demaning that he tell it his name, and then cajolling him back to sleep when he refuses.

Jeongin wakes up on a bus driving through the dark to the machine asking what his name is; a question that, unlike Chan, he answers immediately. The machine claims to remember him from a time he has been here before. Jeongin insists that he has never been here before, and the bus stops at a bus stop, at which a second version of himself sits.

The second Jeongin claims his name is I.N and this is a dream, and that Jeongin needs to follow his instructions to find Chan and escape from the place they are in - District 9. Jeongin realises the memories the machine is playing back to him from the time he has allegedly been here in the past are I.N's.

Han wakes for a moment on a stage, surrounded by a crowd of people dressed in white who do not speak or sing, but just stare. The machine convinces him to keep singing until he has finished the song.

Chan wakes again, and finds Felix; the other boy stares into nothing and won't respond when Chan tries to reach him. He leaves Felix behind to find Jeongin, who is awake, and can explain what is going on - District 9, and the machine, and what Chan needs to do for them to escape.

Following a disturbance in the sky, Chan leads him to the bottom of the garden where there is a hole in the 'sky' - a glass dome covering the facility. They are caught there by two men controlled by the machine. Chan leaves Jeongin behind in order to destroy the machine and save all the boys, following that voice in his head to its source and breaking its will.

Canon Content

Based on the music video and promotional material for District 9 and the I Am Not album, this chapter dives right into the thick of the mindbending, time-twisting shenanigans that will shape the fic in many chapters to come. Given that this and the next chapter combined clock in at 18k, it doesn't cover everything shown in the videos, as there simply isn't enough time to show every member and detail every moment of their time in District 9, but instead picks out a few specific viewpoints through which to convey the story of what District 9 is, why they are here, and what they are going to do next.

The concept of Same and Different, and glitches, and the expansion of it into the world at large is based on the dialogue in the Prequel/Highlight Reel and I Am Not trailers

The computer that Chan uses to break the machine and the phrases written on its screen ('I am normal/I am the same/I am the pride of my nation/I am me') are a combination of Woojin's scene from the I Am Not trailer and phrases that can be read on the blackboard in Minho's scene. The computer program in Woojin's scene also reads 'mental level access system', the inspiration for the creation of the machine.

Characters

Chan is predominant again in this chapter, as one of the only ones that is able to wake up despite the machine that controls them. This chapter explores his strength of will and his strong desire to protect his people, painting him as a steadfast and stoic leader figure that stands out of this group of boys of which we have only met a few so far.

Han is also shown in a brief scene that serves mostly to set up his appearance next chapter, and to reinforce the idea from last chapter of this song he is hearing that no one else can, this song that he loses himself in so easily.

A new addition to this chapter's POVs is Jeongin, the third of the important players in this first installment of Nevermore. We see a lot of Jeongin successfully navigating this new world in this chapter, though unlike Chan he is implied to be a much softer or perhaps weaker character, due to being compared throughout the length of his scene to this strange other version of himself, who appears to be much older and wiser than the real Jeongin.

Plot

This chapter throws us right into the deep end at its beginning, starting immediately with these dialogue-only conversations between unknown people that are meant to only give vague clues, and then throwing us head-first into a world with many rules and creatures we know nothing about. It also starts to set up several plot lines that won't resolve for a very long time; clues that might be hard to spot on a first read-through. Here are some of them:

This is the first instance of the concept of being 'Different' and 'Same', i.e: people that cannot be controlled by the machine/the Six/the victory song, and people who can.

the quote, 'Those who are Different challenge the order of things. Those who are Different, Destroy everything that has been built before them. Those that are Different, must become the Same, to be happy.' also first appears here. This reoccurs throughout the Miroh arc.

At the beginning of Jeongin's scene on the bus, he sees Miroh in I.N's memories; 'the city stretched out before him like a maze he will never conquer'

In the same line, there is a clue to I.N's story, which won't come to light for a very long time; 'he is all alone, and he must wait so very long before he can see them again'. He also notes several times that I.N seems older than him; there is a further clue to this in the second interlude, and again, this is a clue to his story, left for the future.

When Chan and Jeongin are caught in the garden, one of the men says 'he sounds like the one that sings'. The one that sings, of course, is Han; this is a reference to the series of events to come in the Miroh arc, and the overall power that Stray Kids have over the Cle through their music.

The same man says, 'Miroh would like his song'. Again, this is a reference to the events to come in the Miroh arc.

The machine tries to convince Chan that he would be better off alone, rather than reuniting with his friends, mirroring the company deciding to break Stray Kids apart.

7. What is your deepest joy about writing?

Seeing the characters do things I'm not expecting.

11. Do you believe in the old advice to “kill your darlings?” Are you a ruthless darling assassin? What happens to the darlings you murder? Do you have a darling graveyard? Do you grieve?

Once in a class, I pitched a new WIP and specified that no one died at the end. A classmate then piped up to ask, "Are you doing okay?" I'm very much a fan of killing my darlings. I think responses to grief are really fascinating and I enjoy exploring them a LOT.

13. What is a subject matter that is incredibly difficult for you write about? What is easy?

Writing about writing is actually really, really difficult. I keep making my characters authors and that's a terrible decision. Also politics are difficult to write. Themes like grief, obsession, those are easy for me. I love those.

17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.

Dividing this into three sections:

Idol!Gaon AU- The other members of the group and their respective face claims are Bae Woojin (SHINee's Key), Kim Chanhee (SF9's Zuho), Cha Junyoung (Ateez's Seonghwa), and Yoo Joonwoo (Seventeen's Jeonghan). Yohan helped write one of the songs on Gaon's first solo album and did all of the photography for the album. Gaon was always very close with Woojin and Joonwoo and felt betrayed by Woojin - not for stealing in the first place, but for not asking for help.

Critical Role Fic 1- Every time they jump back in time, Caleb and Essek's eyes change color. Neither of them notice. They are not the ones who control who remembers, despite what they think - there may be a surviving member of Vox Machina who knows they're doing it. Jurrell and Caleb have the same color eyes. Beau and Fjord functioning as mentors to Lucien started because I thought it would be funny but I realized very quickly that Beau mentoring Lucien actually makes a ton of sense.

Critical Role Fic 2- (literally copied from the first page of notes for the fic) Around 710 PD, Empire forces, under the command of the Cerberus Assembly and Commander General Hadrian Dedreg pushed into Xhorhas, up to Asarius, the City of Beasts. The push was initially intended merely to capture certain political figures in the city. They did not anticipate the city falling as easily as it did once they reached it. There, they took all of the citizens prisoner and split them between four encampments: Vorastal, Kemerian, Nyztos, and Xirithal. Most drow were placed in Vorastal. There, Den Thelyss and Den Olios helped organize and recover from the initial war. Unbeknownst to even most of both Dens, the Umavi of Den Thelyss carried with her a Beacon, her Den tasked initially with placing it somewhere safe within Asarius. When the city fell, the Umavi hid it to protect it from the Empire. In 803 PD, Volstrucker agents under the Archmage of Civil Influence uncovered the existing hierarchy within Vorastal and began to systematically destroy it. Umavi Deirta Thelyss and her husband, Masir Thelyss, were publicly executed. Their sons Essek and Verin bore witness, and were publicly humiliated when they talked back to Volstrucker agents. Now, in 833 PD, the Thelyss brothers bear the weight of leadership of the encampment as they try to gain contact with Rosohna or the other encampments, and with the help of a few questionable allies, find the Beacon hidden in the ruins of the City of Beasts.

Original Fiction- Bela's eyes are golden, except for when he uses his godly abilities, then his eyes goes completely black. In Rehan, Fix is considered to be the gender of 'foreigner.' The only people who don't treat her like that are the royal family, because Bela would actually kill his family if they treated her poorly. That being said, Bela is a hypocrite and will refer to Fix as genderless if she's not there. Tahsim used to be friendly with Bela and Evren, before his family was destroyed for treason and he was exiled as the sole survivor.

If a witch offered you the choice between eternal happiness with your one true love and the ability to finally finish, perfect, and publish your dearest, darlingest, most precious WIP in exactly the way you've always imagined it — which would you choose? You can’t have both sorry, life’s a bitch

21. Could you ever quit writing? Do you ever wish you could? Why or why not?

Haha. No. Definitely not. I've devoted a lot of money to writing at this point.

24. How much prep work do you put into your stories? What does that look like for you? Do you enjoy this part or do you just want to get on with it?

Depends on the story! Sometimes I plan things out, or jot down scenes that stand out in my head. Other times, I just sit and write and see what happens. I like rambling bullet points for outlining.

29. Where do you draw your inspiration? What do you do when the inspiration well runs dry?

I seem to have never-ending inspiration, to be honest. Sometimes I just have a moment of 'huh wonder what would happen if I poked that dynamic with a stick." This month, I'm sticking to character and pre-planned prompts for daily writing, just to see what happens when I stick to it.

37. If you were to be remembered only by the words you’ve put on the page, what would future historians think of you?

"Damn there's something fucked up about that kid."

hyung line (chan, minho, juyeon, changbin)

juyeon is third oldest after chan and minho since she was born 3 months before changbin which automatically makes her part of the hyung line.

early stays around debut were trying to figure out what to call this line to accommodate juyeon, but stray kids themselves referred to this as the hyung line!

more content with the members interacting showed that hyung was also a regularly used nickname for juyeon. it’s usually used when she’s got a kind of ‘masc’ vibe for lack of a better term. it’s for when she’s got a lot of swag or cool charms.

corefour/core4/c4 (chan, juyeon, changbin, jisung)

corefour is the term used in stray kids content that refers to the four members credited for the producing, composing, writing, and overall formation of stray kids

the first usage of core4 was by chan during a 3racha + juyeon vlive in 2018. stays had been commenting on how 3racha occasionally included juyeon since before debut and therefore should just officially make her a part. however, juyeon has always been and was at the time very vocal that 3racha was the boys’ own thing and merely featured her.

after brainstorming for a minute and hearing stellar ideas from jisung and changbin, chan suggested core4, and it just stuck after that. vlives with the four of them were titled c4, and if juyeon stopped by to say hello during a 3racha live they would always mention how it was corefour now.

along with official posts and updates core4 is also listed in the credits of songs produced by this unit such as topline and give me your tmi.

danceracha (minho, juyeon, hyunjin, felix)

juyeon’s original sub-unit!

prior to debut billie was highlighted as a dancer with over ten years of experience and was shown in the survival show leading their dance practices while helping the members through the intricate details. due to this, when the ‘racha’ subunits were made, juyeon was added solely to the dancers unit.

the creation of the racha units not only helped to categorize members according to their most prominent talent, but it also helped in the transition from juyeon’s role at the forefront to one behind minho.

unbeknownst to most members until much later, juyeon actually did not like being in such a primary dance leader role. while she was confident in her ability and comfortable with the members, billie found it very stressful to be looked to as the example and often felt overwhelmed by the perfect standard she felt she had to achieve.

predebut juyeon had gritted her teeth and bared it at the time as to not lower anyone’s expectations of her abilities but it only took a few months after the creation of the subunits before she finally revealed her discomfort to the members

obviously, juyeon’s concerns were taken into serious consideration and it was soon decided that the co-leader arrangement would be dissolved and fully passed to minho. and this change worked beautifully! minho proved to be a very good teacher and much better at the authoritative role than juyeon had been.

now billie focuses on danceracha’s producing while minho is in charge of choreography! though sometimes they have the other join them in their creations!

vocalracha (juyeon, seungmin, jeongin)

as stated above, juyeon was not originally a part of vocalracha. although she was known for being a vocalist as well as a dancer, billie was only added to vocalracha in order to balance out the units after the departure of member woojin.

this change actually didn’t happen right away, either. only after two releases of this duo subunit did juyeon get added to the line up. but this proved to be a good move as it now allowed seungjeongjoong to find how well the colors of their voices mixed together.

seungmin and jeongin especially appreciated her addition due to her skills producing. the boys would go on and on about what they wanted parts to sound like or what they wanted to do vocally and juyeon would just whip up a song for them.

once billie learned of the ‘catracha’ phenomenon she took to bubble to voice her agreement with the unofficial line and went into detail about the kind of cats the boys were.

juyeon described minho as the cat who won’t let you pet them but also won’t leave you alone because they want your attention and felix as the friendly kind of cat that flops on their back when someone gets close

felix later updated his own bubble with ‘lols’ after seeing what juyeon said and uploaded a recent ‘meowracha’ selfie

minho then updated and said that juyeon was “skittish like an alleycat but willing to get close for food”
