You shyly dug your toe into the ground as you stood in front of where the boy sat on a tree stump. He quickly hid his sketchbook and looked up at you.

The pang of guilt you felt when you saw the trepidation in his wide eyes reminded you why you sought him out.

You know you didn't really mean what you said. You just felt so overwhelmed and Kylar's adoration of you had felt suffocating that morning.

But really, compared to everything else you had to deal with...Kylar wasn't that bad. He was sweet, if not creepy at times, but he was always there to protect you. He cared for you. And sure, he showed that by threatening other students with his knife or blowing darts at randos trying to accost you in the streets. But that was weirdly comforting, and you thought that in his own twisted way, he had good intentions.

Plus, you'd be lying if you said you wouldn't miss his massive cock, or the way he always made sure you came when he was done.

Back to the matter at hand. You weren't sure what to say, so you just stood there, looking down at Kylar, who was trembling so violently you thought he might fall over.

"I'msorryIwasmeanIdidn'tmeanitI'mjustreallystressedbutIshouldn'thavetakenitoutonyou."

Everything came out in one big rush, and the apprehension faded a bit from Kylar's eyes, but he still looked scared. You sighed and took a seat next to him on his stump, gently reaching out for his hand.

"I'm sorry," you repeated. "You were just trying to help. I shouldn't have snapped at you."

Kylar was silent for a moment before flinging his arms around you. You realized quickly that he was sobbing into your shoulder.

"I-I don't," he choked out. "I thought you h-hated me."

You ran a hand through his hair and leaned your head against his. "I care about you, Kylar," you said softly. "I don't want you to be mad at me."

He quickly pulled away, shaking his head violently. "I could n-never be mad at you. You're perfect."

You smiled a little. "Oh, that's not true."

"It is!" Kylar's voice started to rise. His face was still bright red, streaked with tears and snot. "A-and-"

Whatever he was going to say was left unfinished as the two of you heard a bell ring. Back to the real world.

"Come on," you stood up, reaching out a hand. "Walk me to class?"

Kylar sprang up and gripped your hand tightly, as if you would disappear if he let go.

Would Leela, Romana, Narving and Brax survive Castle Dracula?

I don't know if answering this constitutes stepping on @canyourfavesurvivecastledracula's toes or relieving some of the pressure on their askbox. Hopefully the latter.

I'm afraid I haven't read or listened to any of the relevant media for Narvin or Brax, though, so I'm going to have to pass on them.

Leela: look, I'm afraid that characters who shoot [Janis thorns] first and ask questions later do not do well in Castle Dracula, and I fear that Leela is no exception.

She'd start off well! Leela is open-minded to the supernatural, and would definitely take the crucifix, quite possibly understanding it as magic that will protect her against monsters. She'd listen to the concerns of the innkeeper and the people sharing the carriage with her. She might realise the danger that she'd be facing in going to the castle.

And then she'd go anyway, because she's a warrior of the Sevateem and that's what they do. After that, I think it would only be a matter of time before she attacked Dracula, and that is not a fight that she would be able to win.

Leela cannot survive Castle Dracula.

Romana: ... you know, I last watched State of Decay 12 years ago and I think that's going to put me at something of a disadvantage in answering this. Oh well, let's try anyway.

She's taking the crucifix out of politeness, but I don't know if she would be as committed to continuing to wear it. She would be well aware that Something Is Wrong Here (that goes for all Doctor Who companions, tbh), and like Leela she thinks she's equal to it. Unlike Leela she might be right.

I think Dracula would find Romana fascinating, and she would be both willing and able to play along, at least for a while. He is definitely not going to let the Girlies have her, and is probably keen to make her Girlie #4. And obviously she can climb, explore, pick locks, swing shovels and all the rest of it.

Honestly where I'm torn is this: would Romana take the opportunity to escape? Or would she try to continue the cat-and-mouse game until Dracula let more information slip - or until he turned her? It looks like she does need help to escape in State of Decay.

I think Romana can survive Castle Dracula, if survival is her focus. But not if she tries to defeat Dracula on her own.

#once i got over the 'had to get on the already 8:30am-5pm zoom call EARLY on the first day' i am now excited #but it does suck ASS that i have to log on 30 min before my workday technically starts. and then if we dont get a lunch break #then im working an hour and a half more each day for three days than im getting paid for #BUT they also paid probably like several grand for me to do this #anyways. definitely the youngest (and most. technologically familiar. on just an it support level) person in this call lol

How many calories is it reasonable to burn in a day (extra calories, like above your base metabolic rate)???

I’m PRETTY sure my watch is glitching cuz it used to show something normal like 200 normally up to like 900 on a busy day

Then I didn’t wear it for a few years and now it’s giving me daily readings of like 1000-3000 on a busy day.

There’s no way I burnt 3000 calories in a single day right? This thing is broken.

#my only explanation is that I used to work at a library #but now I’m a gymnastics coach #and it’s very much not like a school gym coach standing the the side with a clipboard #I am very much demonstrating moves and form and spotting athletes by catching and holding them in mid air #moving 100lb mats around all day #etc #but STILL #3000 sounds physically impossible #calories #one particularly long 10hr workday the watch was telling me I needed to eat like 4800 calories to break even #I was like no effing way man #1. that’s got to be wrong 2. how could I consume that much I would have to eat an entire cow #I think I ate like 1400 lol and that’s a lot for me #if this isn’t a glitch this could explain why I’m losing mad amount of weight lately #but like #it’s got to be a glitch #fitness watch #maybe the thing is just too old and is losing functionality

In the past, my brain was hard-wired to go to bed at a reasonable time, but obviously I've gotten worse at that over the past three-four years. One day just a few months ago, I stayed up till almost 6 AM and still got up by 9 lol.

But, one thing I haven't done since I was like six years old, is pull an all-nighter (and that time wasn't voluntary- I had a stomach bug lol). My reasoning in recent times is that I forget to eat the later I'm up and it affects my blood sugar pretty bad in the following couple of days.

But tonight? Tonight, I might just do it anyway.

#especially since i bought glucose gummies a couple weeks ago- and they seem to be working so far #perhaps it's time i REALLY put them to the test #i'm on a roll with the rookie rn honestly #i'm pretty well awake still and it's 1 AM #though i imagine i might start getting pretty tired between 3 and 5 #or sooner since i just ate a bread roll #but we'll see #maybe i'll break a record #i'd never do this right before a workday btw #personal

why can’t this week just end alreadyyyyyyy

#rant about the week incomin’ in the tags bc ‘complaining’ is my unofficial middle name #this week has *not* been my week so far and it’s only wednesday morning #my horrible week commenced on sunday night when i was unable to sleep bc my pillow was oriented wrong #thus i had a grand total of 1 hour of sleep which was not very poggers tbh. so i tried to sleep on the train but… #the guy next to me??? kept swaying to lean on my shoulder??? so i hunched over to avoid physical contact but he just landed on my back?? #so that sucked balls. i kept having to wake up to push him away with my bag and then trying to go back to sleep. #but then!!! just as i fell asleep after one such instance!!! the guy’s phone alarm went off????? like?? why???? why would you set an alarm?? #we’re on a friggin train mannnnn!!!!! why did you have to set an alarm????????????? #and ofc when the dude finally alighted (and i was asleep) he just *had* to jab me in the side with his elbow when he got up. ಠ_ಠ #so that’s how i knew the rest of the week was gonna be just ✨peachy✨ #anyways manning 2 workstations (+ 1 bonus ‘mini’ workstation) on 1h of sleep isn’t very fun. esp if you’re incompetent af like me #and ofc there just had to be problems too. like the printers couldn’t print (and the systems crashed everytime i tried to print something) #and this sample running software kept closing itself in the middle of running samples so that was a pain to deal with #and tuesday (yesterday) wasn’t much better. in fact it was ✨worse✨. none of the 2 workstations could get started till like 10am and aaaaaa— #to make matters worse i had stubbed my toe so badly in the morning that my skin tore. so walking was ✨much pain✨ as well :( #and ofc yesterday had to be the one day where i had to walk back and forth an unnecessarily high number of times >:( sadded #and ofc they *had* to have an hour-long meeting about something or other towards the end of the workday when i had yet to eat my lunch >:( #(fell asleep during the meeting though bc it was boring as balls whoops) #and i could only take a half-hour break after that >:((( i wanted my full hour dammitttttttt #and ofc it was raining when i left and ofc it took like 25 mins for me to hail a taxi on this booking app bc i didn’t want to take the train #and ofccccc i misheard the taxi driver when he arrived and he roasted my chinese speaking skills. and ofcccc we were caught in a traffic jam #(i had a really nice hour long nap in the cab though so thanks traffic jam) #and thus ended my terrible 2 past weekdays. i’m drained af and it’s *only* wednesday morning????!!!!!!!!!!!!! #i’m mentally looping anzu no uta (imascg) to cope. ‘nu-uh i don’t wanna work’ so true anzu #i just wanna sleeeeeeep and wake up this weekend or sth idk it’s too early in the year for this #it is suiyoubi my dudes #may spam self-rb my monster-length character image/gif posts later to cope. you have been warned
