Please read, share and amplify! Please sign this petition! ♡
The web series, "Pati, Patni aur Panga" will be released on Mx Player on December 11 2020. The trailer came out yesterday (5 December 2020.)
The series claims to represent the lgbtq+ community and destigmatize the trans community. The lead actress claims to have done something brave.  But does the movie truly represent queer narratives? Is it actually brave of them to do this role?
The problem begins with the casting itself.  Casting a cis woman (Adah Sharma) to a play a trans woman is wrong and misrepresenting when there must be plenty of trans women who must have been willing to play the role.
The idea that trans women "used to be men" is flawed. Trans women were, are and have always been women, even if they were assigned male at birth. Saying they were their assigned sex at birth is transphobic and offensive to trans people. Also, someone really needs to go tell the lead character that marrying a trans woman does NOT mean they married a man. Trans women are women.  The series also perpetuates the harmful idea that trans women are men until they get gender affirmative procedures, which is transphobic too. Trans people do not need gender affirmative procedures to be the gender they are (but it is completely valid if they choose to go for said procedures). Moreover,  the series vilifies and victim blames trans people for not coming out,  when, in reality, coming out is deeply personal and difficult for queer people, especially in a country like India. The series reeks of misogyny when Someone, assumedly, the main character’s friend, asks him about how he could marry a woman just because she is beautiful. Apparently, she could turn out to be a ‘witch.’
Misappropriating and misrepresenting queer narratives is not okay. Using trans identities as a source of entertainment by cisgender people,  for cisgender people is not okay. The misogyny, transphobia (and transphobic language) and misappropriation of queer narratives in this show not acceptable to the trans community, lgbtq+ community and our allies.
Such shows must be banned, because they cause harm to and stigmatize the people they claim to represent. The Indian LGBT+ community does not claim this show as representation and urges that such transphobic, anti LGBTQ+, anti woman shows are banned. These will have negative consequences for binary trans, as well as non binary people.
So we urge you to sign this petition, share it and urge others to sign it.  We would also like you to speak up and educate people about how harmful this show is.  Transphobia isn't acceptable or brave, and won't ever be.

I think aro/arospec wlw/nblw who are new to the nblw/wlw community initially feel out of place, different and overwhelmed, because we don't feel what everyone else is talking about so passionately.
I just need young aro/arospec sapphics/trixics to know that they're valid and that they aren't alone in their experiences. We stand together, and stand for each other.

To wlw/nblw questioning if they're aro/arospec:
Please know that it is okay and valid to be an aro/arospec wlw/nblw.
Please know that being aro/arospec will not make you any less wlw/nblw; and being wlw/nblw wouldn't make you any less aro/arospec.
Take your time to figure yourself out!
Ama(to)normativity sucks and is probably one of the biggest hurdles to figuring out who we are. Please feel free to DM me, or talk to other aro, arospec, as well as allo people about their experiences.
If being a part of the aro community feels like home, gives you joy and comfort- please know that you are always welcome here!

This is what a needy babey gf looks like:
1. "How are you?" - 'Not good, I missed you.'
2. "What did you do today?" - 'Missed you.'
3. "Okay what will make you feel good?" - 'Talk to gf'
4. "Okay, why don't you do something tangible and doable?" - "Text gf!"
5. "Okay fine I got your point." - "Gimme attention!"
Sorry- Am I the only one who thinks like this some times??? 🥺👉👈

Not so gentle reminder that:
Trans wlw can use any pronouns.
Trans wlw can be Gender Non Conforming.
Trans wlw can use terms like femme, butch, stud or chapstick to describe themselves.
Trans wlw don't have to "pass" to be wlw.
Trans wlw can be poc, fat, neurodivergent or have disabilities.
Trans wlw are worthy of love, respect and belong in the wlw community.
None of these matters are up for debate.
PS: This post is inclusive of trans feminine people.

You're a sapphic/trixic who has/have (a) boyfriend(s)?
You're amazing! You have all my love and support! You're wlw/nblw enough. You belong at Pride and at all wlw/nblw spaces! I hope you have a lovely relationship- and listen?
You look great together. ♡

It is okay for wlw/nblw to have boyfriends. It's perfectly valid and amazing to be wlw/nblw and feel attracted to men. wlw/nblw deserve better than to be shamed or excluded from wlw/nblw spaces for their love for men.
Loving and/or engaging in relationships with men doesn't make someone less wlw/nblw, and certainly doesn't cancel out their love for women/girls. ♡

Another reminder you don't have to yearn for hugs or cuddles from girls to be wlw/nblw. It's okay to be touch repulsed, it's okay to not desire sensual intimacy, it is okay to not "yearn".
You're still very sapphic/trixic! 💕
