I forgot what your name is,

But could you please tell me mine again?

I'm afraid that I don't exist unless you’re saying it,

That I don't have a face unless I see it in your irises.

I’m not depressed and I don’t mean to be distant,

Nameless, faceless,

No shoes in bed,

I only long to breathe the air you exhale.

I run around in circles,

Doing dishes, doing favours,

Calling out to you but the words fade into silence,

And if I take up space I’ll drown in it.

The universe is a place of infinite possibility. Life is born and dies, leaving behind a trail of wonder and mystery. Nothing happens by accident. No matter how insignificant, everything matters. Every choice leads somewhere, to a different path, to a new destination. One may choose to walk away and ignore the signposts that guide us towards our true purpose in life, but others will take notice of the divine message sent forth by chance. That is why, when you hear the call of your name whispered in the wind, or catch sight of a strange figure crossing your path, don’t dismiss it offhand. Listen carefully, because it just might be the voice of God.
