I chose to post a snippet of the upcoming chapter of my story Atonement that I (hopefully) plan to publish by the end of September.

“How could you?” She heard her own voice snarl at someone in the room. Turning around to see who the object of her wrath was, she spotted a tall, dark-haired man dressed in black, kneeling a few feet away from them.

Hunched over an astromech droid who had definitely seen better times since his white, blue and silver plating was dirtier than the hands of a spice trafficker (both literally and figuratively), the man patted the domed head of the droid and straightened up. The room suddenly got lit up by a star map projected by the astromech and the man turned around to face her vision version.

His features were blurry as if Rey wasn’t supposed to know what he looked like, but she was practically one hundred percent sure that he was the dark-haired boy from the previous scene. The hair was unmistakably characteristic.
