Spell follow right
Sorry for the mistake, i’ll try to correct it and look out for others as well.
While it’s no excuse, I think I mentioned that english is not my first nor the only language I speak. Sometimes words get all messed up in my head. Also I usually write everything in one sitting, mistakes are bound to be made.
But anyway, I’ll proof read everything and hopefully there won’t be any, the next time you decide to click on my page.
Thank your for your time! Have a great day!

Girl found wondering around without any memory of the last few days, claims she had been abducted and raped...
Your eyes narrowed as you stared at the case which has been all over the news for the past week. It was quite predictable, really. Young girl, too drunk for her own good woke up by herself in the middle of nowhere. You sighed. In a city as big as New York, cases like this happened almost every other day, but there was always something left behind. Fight marks, blood, hair. Anything that could help the police find the person who did it. This time though, there was nothing.
The poor girl. You couldn`t help but pity her. She must be terrified. All alone against a world that knows nothing better than to judge. You pinched your nose in exasperation.
Cases like this, it`s what made you choose to study law. You wanted to be able to help other women. To offer them a chance at justice. No one deserved to be told that it was their own fault for wondering alone at night or for wearing something more showing. No girl should feel like the law protects only the male population...
“ And what`s your opinion on this matter, miss I`m too busy scrolling on my phone to pay attention to class?”
You cursed in your head, as you put your phone away and lifted your eyes to meet your teacher.
Steve Rogers. America`s hero, savior of the world and an actual pain in your ass, was looking at you expectantly. You held his gaze as you forced your lips to form some kind of smile. Something about him always put you on edge and the way his eyes darkened as he stared at you, didn`t exactly help ease the feeling.
“I`m sorry, I was distracted.” you murmured, not wanting to give him the satisfaction that he caught you unprepared. ”If you would be so kind...”
You looked at him as you raised one eyebrow. It was always like this. No matter what you did he`d always find something to pick at you. At first you took it as a form of banter between a teacher and his students, but with time it became clearly that he had a problem with you. Your grades didn`t reflect the hard work you always put in. Your extra work wouldn`t be considered. Every time you would as much as look at your watch he`d find something to jab at you. He would also have something to say about every paper you handed him. It was a miracle you even made the grade for his class.
You cringed as you remembered the comments he would make about your life outside his class. You seemed to bump into him on a daily. There was also something, in the way he watched your every move, that it made the hair at the back of your neck stay high on alert. You really couldn`t understand what you`ve done that America`s sweetheart despised you that much.
”The women rights...” he smirked down at you.
“Oh, yes. I strongly believe that women should have got their rights the same time men did.” you smiled when you realized that he wanted to add something else. “I mean we know that every society of this world was built around androcentrism, but if we`re real the women were the ones that kept everything from falling apart.” you drew in a short breath. “Oh, and I believe that 1920 was a bit late for our women to get their rights, since women all around the world fought for it since the 18th century.”
You smirked, as for once in your life the bell rang exactly when you needed it. Forcing a smile his way, you stood up gathering your notebooks. You were quite proud of yourself, not because your answer was the desired one, but because you got on professor Rogers nerves. While he didn`t seem to have a problem with women and feminists in general, he sure had a problem with the way you choose to speak on the matter. From the corner of your eye you saw his jaw twitch.
At first you were afraid to even say your opinion lest you would upset him, but now you enjoyed to see that vein on his forehead nearly pop. You held back a giggle. Oh well, at least you won`t have to see him for the next few weeks.
“Professor!” you rolled your eyes when you herd your bestfriend use her sweet voice. “I was wondering if you`d like to come to our party tonight.”
You stood straight, narrowing your eyes at the one that has been your friend since the first day you came to the city. What the hell was happening. You knew she had a crush on him, everyone did, but she wasn`t the one to just go and ask someone out, especially not him. You watched her in confusion as professor Rogers made his way to the front of the class.
“You know, with everything happening right now, the uni council would let us hold the party only if there was someone that could take care of us.”
“Oh!” you supposed that made sense, but even so why did it have to be him.
“Of course professor Barnes already said that he`ll be there, but we`d be thankful if you came too. Please!” your friend bated her eyelashes at him as you rolled your eyes.
Professor Rogers had a pleased smile as he moved his eyes from her to you. You held his gaze, even going as far as raising one eyebrow at him. He blinked, before turning his head towards the rest of the class.
“Since you asked so nicely.” he said after a short moment dismissively. ”`I`ll be there.”
There was something sinister in his eyes. Something that you failed to see as you made your way out of the lecture class.
“I can`t believe you invited him!” you playfully jabbed your friend in the shoulder as she walked next to you.
“Oh, come on! It’s just tonight, and I bet he won’t be able to stay up that late since he’s like... the same age as history?” she bit back a laugh, as she took your hand. “It will be fun, you`ll see.”
You hoped she was right since you were never a big fan of parties of any kind.
                                       _ _ _
This wasn`t fun. Not at all.
You knew you should have stayed home, yet you still wanted to enjoy the last night with your class mates before break. But this wasn`t it. The music was too loud and you couldn`t even hear what some people were saying. Also you`ve never really been a techno fan. The food was crap and you were sure everyone came just because there were free drinks.
It was well past midnight and you have been there since the beginning, but you were already dreading it. You smiled as your only joy came from watching drunk freshmen being rejected by some of your friends. The girls were ruthless and that made you proud.
“Hey girl!” your bestfriend came by your side, holding two glasses in her hands as her body danced along the rhythm of the music. “Look at was professor Rogers sent us.”
Her words were slurred and you could see that she drank already too much. That`s why at first you thought you didn`t hear her right. While it wasn`t unusual for men to send women drinks, getting a drink from your teacher was something you never thought could happen. It was wrong in a way.
“What?” your eyes widened as soon as the word left your mouth.
You eyed the glass she handed you. It seemed to be one of your favorites, and after the sour taste the beer left in your mouth, that would have been like a desert. Still something made you suspicious.
“Come on, take it!”  your friend pressed as she smiled broadly. “He must have realized that he’s been an ass all year and wants to make amends.”
She was giggling as her glossy eyes drifted around the room. She didn`t seem to be able to focus on anything, but somehow her shaky hands found yours and brought the glass you were holding closer to your mouth. You weren`t exactly sure what came over you, but you opened your mouth and let the liquid go down your throat. Involuntarily, your eyes wondered around till you saw the back of your least favorite teacher. He didn`t even seem to care about anything around him as he was engaged into a discussion with professor Barnes. That alone made you feel safe, even though the drink left a bitter taste in your mouth.
You were too quick to judge, you resonated. This was probably his way of saying: “Sorry I tormented you that much.” You suddenly giggled. It was shortly followed by your friend`s laughter. She threw the glass to the side and took your hand leading you to the dancefloor.
You weren`t that much of a dancer. You knew just some basics moves and that was it, but now you didn`t seem to care. You let your body move, and only chuckled when your legs started to feel like jelly. It was a strange feeling. You suddenly felt like were floating.
You furrowed your brows as you started to feel that your body didn`t exactly respond to your impulses. Everything around you happened in slow motion.
You cursed. Just how much did you drink? Moving one hand to your head, you tried to get your senses back, but you found it too hard to do. Your head buzzed. For a second you looked around trying to spot your friend among the sweaty bodies on the dancefloor, but it was like you couldn`t recognize anybody.
Fuck this. You had enough of this party already, and the way you felt made you decide that it was time to go home. You moved between the sea of bodies as fast as you could. Your coat and purse were the only thing you spent more than five minutes looking for, but as you found them you practically run out of there.
The bus stop wasn`t that far, but just the thought that you`ll have to go home by bus, made you want to throw up. You didn`t feel well and there was  dizziness that started to overcome you. As you watched the empty street, you cursed again. Of course you`ll have to wait till the next bus came. Damn it! You should really get your license.
The sound of a engine from behind you, made you turn your head. Your eyes narrowed as you watched the Range Rover slow down and actually stop right next to you. You squinted your eyes, trying to see through the tinted glass, but as a wave of nausea hit you, you moved your head to the side. You didn`t exactly pay attention when one of the windows went down. You didn`t really care. You felt sick, and all you wanted, was to get home.
“ I saw you left the party early.” the deep voice said. “Are you all right kitten?”
You hissed when you heard the voice of the last person you wanted to see right now. What was he even doing here? Your heart skipped a beat as another wave hit. You took a deep breath and tried to steady yourself. Just ignore him and he`ll go away. You didn`t exactly knew why you choose to act like that but there was something in your head that told you it was for the best.
“Come on girl, I have to make sure everyone is safe and sound.” you heard his voice. “If you don`t feel fine, I can take you home.”
The idea of getting home sooner and in a nice car was looking really good right now. But still, you didn`t feel like it was the best for you. You choose to keep quiet for reasons not even you knew. You glossy eyes scanned the schedule of the bus that was right in front of you. Thirty minutes and you`ll go home.
You heard professor Rogers sigh.
“And here I thought you never shut your mouth.” there was a deep chuckle, fallowed by the sound of the engine coming to life. “Look kitten I can either get you home or I`ll go my merry way and let you here all alone... well not quite. But I`m not sure you`d want that kind of company.”
Confusion filled your mind. The sudden move you made to look at him, made you dizzy. You tried to focus your eyes, in time to see him pointing to somewhere behind you. You slowly turned.
A group of guys were eyeing you like a wolf would his prey. Your mouth fell open as they did obscene gestures at you. Your whole body freeze as fear took over you. You knew what could happen. Suddenly you were more sober that ever and as you heard the car start moving, you nearly threw yourself in front of it. On shaky legs you moved towards the door.
“Wait” you find it hard to speak. “Professor, I`m sorry I... please!”
You looked at him with pleading eyes, and didn`t even register the way he smirked as you got into the car. Everything was a haze. You only felt like you could breath when the car started to gain speed. You didn`t even remembered to give him your address or anything, but as the car rolled down various streets you were only thankful you were far away from them.
“It such a crazy world out there” professor Rogers voice made you move your head towards him, but as the fear was gone, you started to feel the dizziness again.
With unfocused eyes you watched him. America`s hero was giving you a ride home for free and you were acting like he was your biggest enemy. What was wrong with you?
“I have to say I`m impressed.” he suddenly said as the car started to slow down. “That was one of the strongest drugs that you drank, and you still have some of your conscious left. The other ones were down after a few minutes.”
You looked at him and simply blinked. You wondered if your mind was playing games with you. Surely, he hadn`t said what you think you heard. You must have imagined everything.
“E... excuse me?” you asked dully.
You drew in a shaky breath as your trembling hand went to the door. He chuckled darkly at your attempts to open it. You wanted to scream but as your movement became slower and slower you found that fear wasn`t enough to fuel your limp body.
The car came to a sudden stop. You closed your eyes as you felt hands pulling you back.
“Now, now honey.” you could feel his breath on the back of your neck. “Don`t waste your energy, you`ll need it.”
You turned your head and watched him through your eyelashes. Something in your head was screaming at you to fight, to run, to get away. You wanted to punch, scratch, hurt him in any way. But your body didn`t listen.
It happened too fast. In a matter of second your dress was ripped to shreds. And your found yourself pressed to the door. He was over you in an instant. Turning your head to the side so that he could stare into your eyes. He had a hungry look on his face. You`ve seen it many times but it never terrified you as much as now.
“Just as pretty as I imagined.” he said in a husky voice.
You squeezed your legs as you felt his hand moving around along your body. He tugged at your bra till the clasps snapped. Your nipples stood erect, you didn`t know if it was from the cold of the car or the heat that was inside you. One of his hands came forward at pinched at your nipples. You made to move, but as sensing your intention he tugged your head back by your hair.
“Don`t you even dare!” he growled as his thumb played with one of your nipples. “I waited a long time for this”.
He leaned forward kissing down your stretched neck. His mouth was hot against your skin. You gasped when you felt his tongue leaving wet traces along your collarbone. He tugged at your hair one more time before his hand went down.
“Always dressing like this world is your own runaway, always thinking that you know it all.” he let out a moan as he squeezed your ass. “Do you know what a face as pretty as yours and an attitude like that do to a man?”
You whimpered. You never meant to catch his attention in that way, you just wanted to feel good about yourself. You wanted to tell him that. To tell him that you were sorry, but your brain didn`t work anymore. There was no reaction even as he spanked you. You felt like you could pass out every second.
“Don`t even think about it!”
You closed your eyes when your panties were soon the same as your other clothes. Slick was going down your legs. Despite everything, you were aroused.
“So fucking wet already. Good girl!” he praised.
You felt his hand descend down to your very core, proding around. You bit your lips as tears filled your eyes.
“How many have been here before?” he gave a low chuckle the same time his fingers pinched your button.
“One?” he mocked as one of his long fingers entered you.
You held back a gasp. Non, no, no. This wasn`t happening. Nobody touched you like that before. Nobody even came close to it. That`s not how you wanted it not how you dreamt it would happen. You wanted dinner, roses, a man you loved... not him.
“Two?” he continued as another finger stretched you.
You felt your walls clench around his fingers, as he moved them in and out ou you, everything while his thumb circled your most sensitive part.
“Fuck... you`re tight!” his breath was ragged, it was like he couldn`t get enough.
There was a sudden pause. In a quick move you found yourself pressed to the door of the car, as he angled your body to have better access to your burning core. He drew in a breath.
“A virgin.” he moaned.
You closed your eyes as you herd him playing at his clothes. The sudden hardness you felt proding around your core, made you shiver. You didn`t dare to look back and see it. You were scared. It seemed too big. You were afraid it would split you in a half.
You screamed when he entered you. The pain blurred your vision. Your whole body ached and tears fell down your cheeks. No, no, no. You bit back a moan of pain when he started to move, not caring about you at all. His moves were rough, punishing.
“Shhh doll, I`ll take care of you.” he rasped. “You must have waited so long for this... saving yourself for me.”
Your body moved in rhythm with his. His cock dragged along your walls as every move sent a wave of pain through you. Soon though, you found the pain disappeared. A strange feeling took over you. It was almost pleasurable. You guessed you would have enjoyed it under any other circumstances. But now? Now you were just tired.
As you passed out, you failed to notice the feeling of something warm flowing through you.
                                          _ _ _
Steve smiled down at your sleeping form. So pretty, even after being used like that. You had a glow. Too bad you might not remember anything that happened. He chuckled. It`s a  good thing he planned to keep you. He`ll make sure you`ll never forget him.
You were his girl after all. The only reason he took that shitty job as a teacher.

❃ ❃
The darkness that surrounded you was terrifying. It was cold and hot at the same time. It also felt constrincting. There was something heavy on your chest that stoped you from getting that deep breath of air you desperately needed.
You woke up with a gasp. For a moment you felt like you were emerging from bottomless waters. It seemed that the world itself was submerged. You blinked, vision coming in and out of focus. Your whole body ached. It was an unfamiliar sensation, one that you were already dreading. You tried to move your hand, but found it way too hard to do it, and that simple move sent a wave of pain through your whole body. You groaned.
As you blinked one more time, your vision started getting dim around the edges. You felt like there was too much happening around you. There were lound sounds, graoning, screaming but there was also hushed ones, voices that were too shaky to even make one coherent sound. You felt confused. There was a numbing sensation that took over your whole body. It also came with a slight ringing in your ear. Someone was speaking to you, but you couldn’t even look at them, let alone make out a single word they were saying. Everything was either too loud or too quit. You wanted it to stop.
”It’s allright, child. Take a deep breath.”
Somehow, through all the fog that clouded your mind you understood the gentle comand. The buzz of the crowd started to register and as you fought the dizzness and nausea, your senses started to come to you. The first thing you took notice of, was the ruptere of moonstone yellow that illuminated the bat black sky. The second thing was the groaning and laughing of men and the cries of women. You tried to move you head but it made you too dizzy.
A hand rested on your head. You flinched. Even as familiar and gentle as it seemed you couldn’t help it. Your vision was still blurry, but you tried with all your might to focus it.
“Shh!” the old woman whose hand caressed your head, spoke in quiet voice. ”Don’t say a word.”
You furrowed your brows. You were sure you knew her, but the throbbing in your head didn’t let you remember every detail. Even so you felt like you could trust her, you felt somehow safe around her. You felt the same way one would feel around his mother.
Your eyes widened suddenly and your whle body lunged forward on it’s own accord. Your mother, the queen, the war, the king, the invaders. It all came back at once. A nauseating wave took over and you started to throw up. There was a hand at the back of your head, helping you mentain your equilibrium. You grimanced as you felt the bitter acid taste in your mouth and the burning sensation left in the back of your troath.
”Easy there child!”
You weren’t exactly paying attention to whoever was speaking, instead your still blurry eyes took in your surroundings. You were inside the citadel, you could tell that much. The light given by the torches was enough to see the ground that was polished with guts. A vile smell rose up from it. You wrinkled your nose in disgust. Moving you head a little, your breath caught in your throat. Hang all around the walls of the citadel, were heads of men that you knew. Of men that fought bravely to protect their homes and families. You felt sick. And as your eyes fell on the hanged head of Sir Gregor, you felt your heart stopping. If you could you would have screamed, but you were too numb all of a sudden.
A movement caught your eyes. Blinking the blurriness away and ignoring the ache you felt, you turned your face towards the foreign men. It was then, you realized the situation you were currently in.
Lined along the citadels walls were all the girls that were so unfortunate to be caught alive. Some of them were bound, while others were too terrified to move even one single finger. You watched them, even recognized some. Young, beautiful girls laidies and maids alike. At least, some people you knew were alive. You felt a little bit of hope making it’s way in your heart, only to disappear the next second.
Barbaric men were circling the girls like a wolf would his prey. Their hungry eyes were taking in their young bodies as if they were starved. You recoiled when you saw their hand touching their lower body parts through the clothes they were wearing. As a loud scream made itself herd, you averted your eyes.
A little too late though. You already saw that man tearing the top of one girl’s dress. You already saw her scared face as she made to cover herself. You already saw her being thrown to the ground, and her dress torn. You already saw the outline of one’s erect cock entering her without a second thought. And she wasn’t the only one. The screams were horrendous.
You moved back, pressing yourself against the cold wall of the castle, a sharp stone diging into your side. You were petrified. Your breath was too fast and too hallow. You felt like you could faint.
Strong, gentle hands squeezed your shoulders.
“Take a deep breath, princess!” the gentle and quiet voice made itself herd again.
You whimpered as you turned your eyes to the woman in front of you, without really seeing her. She mimicked your breathing till you understood and slowed down with her. Her hand took yours and she offered a sad smile.
”How did I get here?” you suddenly found your voice.
The woman you now recognized as lady Alice, looked away for a moment. She have been the wife of a lord, you remembered. She also have been there the day you were born, the day you painted your first portrait and the day you first learde how to dance. You remembered her as the one that teached you embroidery. A kind and beautiful lady. She was also the one that always stood next to your mother and supported her.
”I’m not sure.” she said as she looked around with teary eyes . ”If I were to guess I’d say you were lucky”
Confusion still filled your mind. But you remembered the way that man rised his fist. You didn’t remember him hitting you but the pain in your body was enough to tell you everything. You never felt anything like it. In a way you were indignated. You were a princess. No one had the right to put his hands like that on you. But as the girls screams started growing louder and louder, you realized that maybe you were indeed lucky.
You wanted to laugh. If this was what luck looked like, you didn’t want to know what no luck was like.
”They found other girls running in the tunnels, so they didn’t think twice about you.”
Something clicked. Now you understood why they didn’t ake an assumption of you coming out of that tunnel. You understood why you were here right now. They didn’ t think you were nothing else but a maid. But that didn’t explain who stopped that brute from killing you with his bare fist. At the reminder of what that man did to you and at your own helpness you trembled. Your head felt fuzzy and you felt like trowing up again. It was too much. You wanted it to stop.
And suddenly it did. All the buzzing, all the mocking laughter, all the grunts of the disgusting man, everything stopped. Only the cries and hiccups of the girls remained. But even those were silenced as one of the savages, annoyed by the cries, smashed a poor girl’s head on the cold ground.
“Shut it, you whore!”
You felt anger taking over you. Oh, how much you wanted the tides to be different. Your father would have head his head, and you would have had the pleasure to watch as his qrotesque face would have asked for mercy. You would have watched as his head fell beside his body. At the image you felt an odd satisfaction. Then you recoiled. What were you even thinking? You never thought about hurting a fly and now you felt strangely euphoric as you imagined someone’s death.
”Try to stay calm” the old lady spoke again, as her eyes were fixated on the main gate of the castle.
As it opened, all the thugs that were literally enjoying themselves not moments ago, kneeled. You raised your brows. The man that brought all of this upon you emerged from inside the castle.
Your castle. Your home. Your safeplace.
You felt again, the now familiar, sentiment of anger. Oh, how you wanted to wipe that mocking smirk from his face. You made to move forward, anger fueling your body and clouding your mind. But you had no power and as aching as your body was, you realized you’d have no chance. So when a hand tugged you back, you were actually thankful.
Cradled into lady Alice’s arms, you watched the king making his glory march. Seeing him so confident and being worshipped by his men made you realize that everything was over. That was it. Everything you knew was bound to change, and what made you want to cry was the fact that you could do nothing about it.
”It was a long fight… ” lost in your thoughts you nearly jumped when you heard the deep loud voice. ”One that could have been avoided if your old crazy king would just have accepted  that it was his time to go”
At the mention of your father you squeezed your eyes shut. How could this man even talk about the king of the most flourishing kingdom in that manner? How could this man even pretend that he would be better? You wanted to scratch his eyes out.  You wanted to see him bleed. You wanted …
”Do you want to know the fate of your precious king? Do you want to know what happened to the one you followed so blindly?” he jeered.
As he moved to one side , your eyes followed him. You saw him grabbing a sack and as he placed on the ground, you squinted your eyes to see whatever was inside. But as he took it out, you wished you had never been born. Your fathers head was held high in the air, by the one that killed him. You gasped for air. And as the men cheered you threw up for the second time. Tears were running down you cheeks, and you wanted to rip everything apart.
”Look at your king!” he laughed again like a maniac. It was a cruel, cruel laugh, one that you were sure would fallow you in your nightmares.
You trembled, and as king James threw the head away without a care, lady Alice’s hand covered your eyes. She whispered words of comfort in your ear but you were lost. Your hands found the ground beneath and you started clawing at it. You didn’t know what to do. You felt nothing and everything at the same time.
There were cheers from every men that was there and a mockery of laughter. You wanted to scream. To take a sword and put it through that man’s black heart. You almost wished you never woke up from that beating. This was unberable. The tears runned dry on your face. And as you let your head rest against the rocky wall, you hoped that this all was nothing but a nightmare. Maybe you were still there, at the back of the castle left for the wild animals to feed on. At that moment you preferred that. You would actually have been thankful for that. But you knew. The throbbing in your head and the pain your body was in, told you that you were very much alive.
”My men, you fought hard, and you deserve to celebrate!” you heard the dreaded voice again, but at this point you weren’t sure if it even stopped. ”So let us begin!”
There were cheers again, but they were merged with screams and cries. You somehow knew what that kind of celebration meant. The girls were dragged to their doom. Some of them were already sporting nasty bruises along their faces, but the savage men didn’t seem to mind as long they rutted into a young body. You turned your head towards lady Alice and her from her face expression you knew she had the same thoughts as you.
“Go princess!” her voice was nothing more but a whisper but somehow you heard it.
You made to stand up, hoping that in all that madness you would, by a miracle, go unnoticed. You had to get away, you knew that much. You had a promise to keep. Trying to mantain your equilibrium you made a step. But that was it, you didn’t get to take another. There was a hand on your throat and you felt yourself held up against the cold war. You coughed. Laidy’s Alice screams were cut short by the sword that turned her head to the side. You watched her hit the ground and when you felt you were running out of air, you meet the cold blue eyes of your captor. The same bastard that hit you, now was toying with your life for the second time.
”Hello, little bird!” you opened your mouth, wishing that you could tell every little thing you thought about the blond in that moment, but when the only thing you did was gasp for air, he continued. ”You know, you’re lucky you’re pretty or otherwise I would have made an example out of you” he laughed.
You started to feel dizzy and your vision was starting to blur again. You brought your hand up to his hoping to take a little of the pressure but he didn’t bulge.
”Now now” he tutted. “I do hope you’ll be a good girl” he tightened his grip as you fought for your last breath. ”You know, he wants the best, and you’re a true beauty even with that bruise I left on your face.” with his other hand he touched your cheek, dragging his fingers across your skin. ”Hell, I would have kept your for myself.”
When he finally lossened his hold you found yourself on the ground gasping for air. There was a burning sensation in your whole body and you felt like your heart was beating in your head. You bit your lip. And when the blond brought you to your feet by your hair, you held back a whimper .
”Aww, don’t be like that.” He smirked. ”You’re gonna get the chance to touch a king, you should feel honored.”

                                                        ❃
There was no other in this world that tresured love as much as the people of your kingdom did.
You could see it clearly. Even as your people’s last breath was cut short by the blade that severed the head from the body. Even when their screams were silenced by the blood that gushed down from their throats . Even in the last breath of those that were drawning in their own blood. You could see the love they carried for their homeland, for their kingdom and for their kind king.
But love, as strong as the bards that often sang their verses for your delight made it up to be, was frankly not enough.
The sound of clashing swords was terrifying. The axes were clattering against the metal shilds. The chain armor your people wore was jingling with every hit it received. Enemy forces were carving their way through your people s defences like it was nothing. Scarlett red blood and greasy innards covered the ground. The men were snarling and groaning while the fight continued under the starless sky.
From the highest turn of the citadel, you watched, as man after man fell to their knees. Your heart clenched at the sight. Those men celebrated every moment of your life, they watched you grow and as their princess they protected and loved you as they would their own. Tears were already running dry while your mouth opened in a soundless sob.
In the distance you could see the younger ones clutching anxiously the sword at their side. Some of them were even younger than you, and their life was already cut short. You watched as the enemy lunged forward. From were you were standing it seemed like being attacked by a swarm of bees. It was carnage.
”Stupid child! What are you doing?!”
The sharp voice made you jump. Tearing your eyes from the battle, you turned towards your mother, wanting nothing more than just to fall into her arms and let her hold you the same way she did all those times you’ve scraped your knees. Taking a shaking breath you opened your mouth to speak but the only sound that was heard was that of slashing swords. There was so much you wanted to say, to scream and beg for it to stop, but the words never came.
Your mother stared out the window for a second. She seemed lost, nothing like the queen you looked up to. Her hair was disheveled, her dress wrinkly and her face seemed to have gotten 10 years older over night. The crown on her head was the last thing that reminded of her once, imposing figure.
”We...” she took a shaky breath before continuing. ”We have to hurry!”
Her voice trembled, and the shaky hand that took yours shattered every hope you had. You knew it was a lost battle. You knew it was the end for you kingdom. You knew you were gonna loose your home, your parents and everything you ever knew.
“Mother, we have to put an end to it“ you spoke, your voice as steady as you could manage and nothing more than a whisper.
She didn’t seem to hear you. Only the hold she had on you seemed to thighten as what seemed to be iron ladders clinked againts the castle walls.
The corridor your mother took, lead to a small chamber in the back of the castle. It was dimly lit and there was a second door at the end of the room. There was one more person there, hiding in the corner. You reconised her. A maid, nearly the same age as you. She was the one that used to serve your food. You appreciated her and in some kind of twisted way, you always thought she resembled you. The hair color, the height, the full lips it was all there. You used to joke that in another life she could have been your twin.
Looking at her now tough, something didn’t sit right with you.
“There is no time to lose!”
Your mother’s voice echoed in the empty room, bringing some of your senses back. Watching as she was marching across the room, you straitghened your back.
“Yes” your brought your shanking hand up, moving some strands of hair that have fallen on your forehad. “You as the queen of the fallen king should order a retreat. We have to save what men remained alive and surrender.”
There was no answer. And for a second you questioned if you truly spoke or everything happened in your head. However you caught a glimpse of the maids hopeful eyes before she bowed her head again.
“Listen to me, mother.” you pleaded. “Between two evils we have to choose the lesser one. If we give them what they want maybe they’ll let us ... “
“I won’t be a slave in my own castle!”
You never heard you mother yeel. She never did something that wasn’t lady-like. And for a moment there, you were stunned. You were young, and this was the first battle that was brought upon you homeland. You didn’t know how to act or react. You fel helpless and you hated it.
There was a dress put at your feet. And as your mother urged you to change in the simple cloth, you eyes darted to the maid. She was terified, jumping at every sound and making her hand a fist over the cloth of her dress. A cloth, you realized, used to make only your most beautiful gowns. You eyes widened.
“Mother” you took a step back as the one that gave you life adjusted the modest dress. “What’s happening here?”
Again, there was no answer. The queen avoided your eyes as she went ahead and opened the door, for the one that you recognised as the head of kingsman to enter. Sir Gregor was your father’s loyal friend and your family’s protector long before you were born.
He sat on firm feet. His face impasive as he scaned the room. There was a short bow as his eyes fell upon you, but otherwise he remained the stoic knight.
“Do it”
Suddenly his sword was drawn.
You watched in horror as he headed towards the trembling girl that was hiding in the corner of the room.
“What are you doing?” your voice was suddenly hoarse.
You could see the fear on the maid’s face. You could see her shanking with sobs. You could see that she was unable to do anything. She feared for her life.
“Stop” your voice echoed. “Leave her alone!”
“Do it!”
The second comand given by your mother merged with your own. But it was to no avail.
The girl screameed as she was taken by her hair and hung in the air, the sword close to her throat.
You made to lunge foward, without thinking. Ready to fight thoot and nail for that girl, but the sudden grip on your shoulders threw you back. You hit the ground with thud.
“Stop!” you were screaming at this point. “Sir Gregor I said stop!”
You scrambled on your hands and feet trying to regain your composture, but as your mothers hands pushed on your back you found it hard to do it.
“And I’m ordering you to kill that girl!”
You couldn’t believe those words were said by the same person that used to remind you everyday that there was good in everyone and that every little thing had it’s own beauty. Your eyes widened in horror.
“Please, n-no, no...”
The poor girl voice was distraught. Terrified and when the sowrd dig into her skin her screams were even louder.
“Sir Gregor” your mother gathered you in her arms as you tried to break free. “Do as your queen commands! Protect your princess! Now!”
You screamed as the blade cut through the young girls neck. A sound like the winter wind could be herd as the maid gave her last breath. It was wrong. She had a whole life ahead. She could have had a family. Maybe there was someone out there praying that she’s safe and sound. Maybe.
”Unhand me!” you bated your mother s hands away as her grip on you lessened. ”How could you!?”
For the umpteenth time that day, you wanted to scream. Your mothers tired eyes stared at you. She was biting her lip whiler her hands were tugging at the dress sleeves. For a moment there, she seemed lost.
”Darling” her quavering voice made you forrow your brows. ”Look away, darling!”
You didn’t understand what she meant.
The sound of cracking bones came all too soon. You turned you head towards the man you once thought to be so kind. His sword was now put aside, replaced with a dagger. Shock crossed your face. He already smashed the girl’s head against the bare wall. That s were that shattering sound came from. If you squinted your eyes you were sure that you could see the blood running down that wall. It left you speechless.
”Child, I said to look away” your mothers voice seemed so far.
While you undestood what she said, the shock paralized you. Your eyes widened in horror as the man you trusted with your life was skinning the poor girl’s body. His moves were precise. Cherry red blood sprayed from the gaping cuts. Her young face was covered in blood, but you were sure that there was more damage than that. Her throath was cut open. And as the knife danced across her collarbone, you realized. He was carving her skin in the exact same spot your birthmark was.
It slowly came to you. The resemblance you noticed. The braied hair. The beautiful dress. Your mothers orders. The killing. The mutilating.
The battle was lost. Your kingdom was already in foreing hands. There was no chace for a retreat. Making it out to the forest that was near the citadel was  imposible. The enemy was already searching for what was left of the royal family. This murder. This charade. This, was your mother making sure you survived.
”I...”
Shooking your head,  you stared at the barbaric picture that was before you. There were no words you could think of, that explained what you felt at the sight. Your heart sank and a your head started to throb. You wanted to throw up.
”How could you just take her life like that? Like she was no one?” you hadn’t realized you were holding you breath, till you took a a deep one to finish your questioning.
”She was a no one.” the queen’s voice was flat and steady.”If she didn’t die today, she would have been useless tomorrow.”
You turned towards her. Your eyes searched her face while your ears could not believe what they have heard. Those words were coming from the woman that gave you life. The woman that used to sing lullabies and braid flowers in your hair. The woman that protected every single girl that worked in the palace from the predatory gaze some dukes had. You wanted to be like her.
”I did what I had to do.” your mother continued.
She neared you. Her hand went to you face and as she did a hundred times before, she caresed it. Her sad eyes were looking you over, taking every single piece of her daughter’s face in. She looked at you like she was seeing you for the last time.
You held her gaze for a moment. The love you could see in her sad eyes was overwhelmimg.
”My sweet, sweet child. Forgive me for I could not see a wold without you in it.” tears fell down her cheeks. ”I just want you to live, to get a chance to fight back, to become the queen I always imagined you to be. I did what I had to do, what any mother woud do to protect her child! You... you don t know what he will do to you.”
You cried with her. And when she pulled you in a thight hug, you let your head rest on her shoulders. You wanted to tell her you understood but at the same time a part of you resented her for the decision she made. You were a princess, if your people died you should die with them.
There was a sharp noise, and your mother was the first to react, pushing you back to the end of the room, where the door was. Sir Gregor drew his sword as footsteps and loud voices could be heard in the castle. The enemy was here.
”Run!” your mothers voice was nothing more than a whisper.
”What?” you asked. ”You re not ... ”
”Run as fast and as long as you can. Don’t ook back. Keep that damned birthmark hidden. An don’t stop for anything in this world. You have to make it out alive!”
As the sound of voices became clearer, your mothers one become hushed. She balled her hand on fists as you drew in a shaky breath. Sir Gregor stepped in front of you both, his sword at ready.
”Child, promise me.” the queen looked you in the eye before placing a kiss on your head. The same spot your father used to kiss ”Promise me!”
”I ...”
A loud bang could be heard and the footsteps stopped right before the chamber’s door. A clattering sound. And then another.
The queen gave you on last push through the door. She looked at you as she used to, when you were just a little girl trying on her crowns and jewelry. You could see all the love she had for you. You could understand the sacrifices she made for you. So as another thundering sound made itself heard you took on running.
The tunel was dark, but you knew it. You darted forward, trying to move your feet as fast as you could. Your arms churned. And after a while, sweat started to go dawn your forehead. You panted. There were foreign voices that the echoes made them seem to close. You urged you feet towards as panic settled in.
The tunel wasn’t long, but you were already questioning how far could you push it?
The dim light you could see after a few more minutes of running gave you hope. You knew you were close to the opening that was in the back of the castle. It should be safe and the forest would give you a place to hide. You knew you could make it. Your feet pounded on the cold wet floor.
As soon as you neared the door, you threw it open. You sprinted outside. But the sound of clashing swords made stop dead in your tracks. A jet of blood surged into the air, part of it touching your face. You recoiled. The scent of death was around you. Swords were riging against each other. Men after men meet their doom. You trembled. The enemy really surrended the whole castle.
As you stayed there, too terrified to even move a finger, you saw him. This one man that no one seemed to touch. He moved with precision and when he hit, he hit to kill.
There was something familiar about him. You didn’t remember when or where but you were sure you’ve seen him before. Stunned, you stared at him. And somehow in all that madness, as his blade cut open the troath of some poor man, his eyes found yours. You realised then. He was the man that brught war on your home. He was the one that led the armies towards the castle gate. He was the man that drew his sword through your father’s heart. And he will be the one that tomorrow would be celebrated as a hero by his men. King James.
You gulped. He was the one you mother told you to run from. You teared your eyes away and in moment of panic you made to run. The hand that was suddenly caught into your hair trew you off balance. The ground was cold, and as soon as you hit it, you head was tugged back by the one whose hand was still upon hair. You yelped.
”Where you running to little bird?” a deep voice asked in a mocking tone.
You opened your eyes to see the brute of a man smirking down at you.You hated him. Without a second thought, all the saliva you had into your mouth, was spit directly into the man’s blue eyes. The image of his disgust, made you proud.
”You whore!”
You should have seen the kick coming. You should have expected the second and the third too. Though it didn’t really matter anyway. Unconcioness was so invinting.
