Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I lifted my eyes from my phone to glance in Sakusa’s direction, only to find him already staring at me. His eyes widened the slightest bit and his back straightened, but he never looked away from me.
Suna cleared his throat, whether it was on purpose to attract the others’ attention or not I didn’t know, but it still made me internally wince.
“Oi,” Suna wrapped an arm around my neck, nearly pulling me into a chokehold as he pulled me to his chest. “Remember when everyone thought you and ‘tsumu were dating?”
Sakusa’s eyes snapped to the brunet as soon as he spoke, his face remaining neutral as he listened to our conversation.
“Just because I wore his spare jersey to one game because I spilled my juice on my shirt.” I rolled my eyes and smiled fondly at the memory. Atsumu laughed from across the room.
“I did think you were dating when I saw you together at my first nationals.” Hinata chuckled from where he sat on the floor beside Atsumu’s legs. “I know you grew up with the twins, but your dynamic with Atsumu was different from Osamu.”
It was. It really was.
Osamu had always been like an older brother, we fought sometimes over the smallest disagreements and were both stubborn as hell, but the moment I needed him he was there to grab my hand and comfort me, and I was the same way with him.
Atsumu on the other hand… I couldn’t even remember when I started seeing him with different eyes. One day his playful winks started making my stomach flutter and my breath stutter. I found myself gravitating more toward him, our fingers were always laced together when we walked side by side. Our mothers teased us and insisted they were waiting for the day we finally admitted to them that we were together. We would only look away pretending like we weren’t both sporting flushed cheeks.
But as suddenly as it started, it came crashing down. We started our third year and Atsumu’s eyes started drifting toward the pretty new girl with unique red hair and beautiful green eyes. They were in a different class than Osamu and I, so they eventually started talking and became good friends. They didn’t actually make it official until after we graduated, but with their flirting and how attached to the hip they were, making it official was just a formality at that point. Anyone could see it in their eyes that they were head over heels in love.
Osamu and Aran held me tightly so many nights as I cried uncontrollably. I wanted to blame her, to be mad at her for stealing him away, but it wasn’t her fault– none of it. It wasn’t Atsumu’s fault either, one can’t really choose how or who to fall in love with. He didn’t even know how I truly felt about him at the time.
And then I did what I always do best, ran away to Tokyo for university instead of staying back home with my friends, never looking back. Many times I cried on phone calls with Osamu and Suna about feeling homesick and wanting to be surrounded by my friends and family once again, but going home and seeing them would hurt even more.
Obviously it has now been years and we are all mature adults. Atsumu is once again simply my best friend whose playful winks are received by a roll of my eyes and his smirks are met by a slap on the back of his head. Kairi became a good friend throughout the years and if Atsumu was going to spend the rest of his life with anyone, I was glad it would be her.
I leaned my head against Suna’s shoulder after adjusting my position against him. I laughed at Hinata’s comment, “Nah ‘tsumu and I have always been too similar, we woulda bitten each other’s heads off at some point. Truly can’t understand how ‘samu stands us.”
I closed my eyes, feeling Suna’s chest vibrating against my arm as he chuckled. I tapped his shoulder, murmuring that I was gonna get a refill. He raised his arm just enough to let me slip out. I tried to ignore the pair of dark eyes that followed my every move as I slowly walked toward the kitchen.
It was open spaced so the guys could see me from where they were still sitting and laughing together, but it was enough to grant me at least an illusion of privacy since they were too engulfed in whatever story Bokutou was telling about college shenanigans he got himself into with Kuroo, many of which I was actually witness to.
I turned my back on the group and placed my hands on the counter as I felt my pulse start to race. Not here, not in front of them. I took deep breaths, inhaling and exhaling softly to calm myself down until my heartbeat evened out and the corners of my eyes stopped prickling with the threat of tears.
Footsteps reached my ears, as if they were intentionally heavy to alert me. I turned my head just enough to catch Sakusa’s huge form stopping just a few feet away from me. His eyes scanned my face, his arms crossed over his chest.
“Are you okay?”
I nodded once, already feeling the tears beginning to form again at that simple question. I pulled my bottom lip between my teeth and turned my face away from his curious eyes.
He took another step forward and leaned his back against the counter I had my hands placed on. I could feel his eyes on me, but I just stared at the counter.
“I’m going to let you think that I believe you,” He murmured. I appreciated the low tone, not wanting the guys to listen to our conversation. “But you shouldn’t bottle everything up.”
“There ain’t nothing to bottle up.” I replied sharply, regretting my tone as soon as I caught his slight flinch. I let out a deep sigh, “Sorry.”
“Don’t worry about it.” He shook his head, dismissing my apology. “Does that,” He gestured toward my face. “Have anything to do with what you were all talking about before you left?”
I grabbed the edge of the counter, controlling the urge to move just a tiny bit closer to the raven haired man as his cologne reached my nostrils. I shrugged, not really giving him any response.
“I didn’t really know you back then, but I had seen you around enough to know that you were too good for Miya anyways.”
I looked up at him then. He was already staring down at me, his mask tucked under his chin allowing me to see his lips curled down into a frown. His cheeks were sporting a pink tint, probably due to the couple of drinks he had earlier.
“Gonna get some fresh air.” I gestured toward the balcony outside. “You’re welcome to join if ya wanna take a break from the guys, but I get it if ya wanna go back to Komori. Feels like ’m keeping ya from him.”
He glanced behind me for a second before turning back to me. “I’ll go with you. It feels… uh, stuffy in here.”

“What if I just get a fake boyfriend?”
Atsumu and Suna glanced at each other, making me pout as I turned my gaze down to my nearly empty glass of wine. Suna was the one that sat down beside me, phone locked but never leaving his hands as always.
“Since Osamu’s not here, I have to be your conscience. Don’t dig yourself into a deeper hole.”
“It would get my parents off my back at least for a couple of months…” I murmured, ignoring Suna’s words as I finished up my drink. “I told my mom it wasn’t anyone they knew, though.”
Atsumu plopped down on the loveseat. “Why don’t you ask one of your Tokyo friends? I’ve always thought Kuroo is into you.”
I shook my head immediately. “I also said it wasn’t any of them…” I frowned at the empty bottle of wine on the table. “It would be too awkward for me to ask them something like that anyways. That would be like asking Suna or Osamu.”
Atsumu was quiet for a moment, “The only option is to come clean then?”
“What if you ask Sakusa?”
Atsumu and I turned to Suna at the same time.
“Sakusa?” I raised an eyebrow. “Have we not been over this already?”
“No, no. He’s gotta point.” Atsumu slowly nodded. “Someone your parents don’t know, you’re attracted to him so it would be easy for ya to pretend in front of ‘em.”
Suna unlocked his phone, fingers typing on the screen as he spoke, “Exactly, you’ll be busy at the wedding anyways making sure everything goes smoothly, you can use that excuse to stay away from your parents.”
“And his career can be the excuse why ya haven’t gone public with the relationship.” Atsumu added.
It was scary that Atsumu and Suna were agreeing on something. My gut told me that nothing good could come out of it, that
Of course, I only how how to make terrible decisions in life, so I went against my better judgement. “Guess ‘m asking Sakusa then.”
“Well, he’s on his way, so you can ask him then.” Suna’s lips curled into a lazy smirk as he locked his phone and dropped it beside him on the couch. “I just invited Komori.”
I stared at the brunet for a moment, a couple of knocks startling us out of our staring contest, signaling Bokutou and Hinata’s arrival. I stood up and headed for the kitchen. “I need another drink.”

anything for love
prince!rindou x princess!reader
Tumblr media
well it seems like you’re liking this out of order rindou fic so i’m gonna make that taglist, just complete this form so i can keep it organized (even if i tagged you on this part, please complete the form so i can know your preferences for future parts) i’m also gonna make a masterlist before i post the next part but for now take this part one - part two
this is set sometime between two or three months before the wedding is supposed to take place
word count 0.4k
fem!reader, third pov, royalty au, forbidden love, implied cheating, mentions of sex, bit of jealous rindou
Tumblr media
Rindou knew his lover only had eyes for him, that she only loved him despite the circumstances that kept them apart. It was his bed that she would warm that night, it was him that pulled orgasm after orgasm from her, and it was his name that she moaned when she came.
So why were his fists clenched so tightly at the sight of her hand on Kakuchou’s arm? She was laughing at whatever he had said and was clutching onto his arm to maintain her balance. The raven haired man was like a brother to her, growing up running around the halls of her home along with Izana when his parents passed. He knew that she would never look at him as anything else.
If she was his– no, if she was publicly his– he wouldn’t have to hide the fact that she’s the only one that makes him genuinely smile. He would be able to hold her hand and kiss her knuckles to hear her laugh. He would be able to narrow his eyes at Kakuchou and say he’s too close to his girl.
Her eyes fell on him and Rindou could swear he forgot how to breathe for a moment. She smiled at him after making sure Ran wasn’t looking at her from where he sat across the room with Izana.
He couldn’t help but return the smile before lowering his eyes to his drink. He had been nursing his tea long enough for it to grow cold. He discarded the cup on the table in front of him and stood with the intent of going outside for fresh air and taking a break from pretending not to love her.
She took a step toward him, lips curled downwards. When she asked if she could join him outside he couldn’t bring himself to meet her eyes again, he wouldn’t be able to say no.
Part of him wanted to just let her get her way and finally have a moment alone with her. The more rational part of him knew he needed to take a moment for himself rather than keep torturing himself with that woman.
Rindou sighed softly after a moment of silence. He tilted his head toward the door, letting his emotions win as he motioned for her to follow.
He would do anything for that woman, he thought as he glanced at his brother, still deep in conversation with the silver haired man.
Tumblr media
also wanna mention that i’m gonna be open for requests for haikyuu, tokyo rev, and demon slayer (at the moment) you can also request moments/send prompts you wanna read abt for this au or just send me your questions and opinions! i love answering asks abt my fics :)

thinking about taking sanzu from behind, your front flush against the mattress, trapping you with his weight as he pounds his cock into you; his naked chest pressed against your back. there’s nothing else you can do but take the entirety of it—the way his hips harshly slap against your ass, the way the blunt tip of his pretty cock kisses that spongey spot inside you over and over again, the way his hot breath fans over the side of your neck as he moans shamelessly.
and maybe he teases you a little too. lifting his hips so that his cock slides out, and all that’s left inside you is the tip. and you’d have to lift your own hips from the mattress, fucking back into his cock to chase the blissful pleasure that’s been ripped away from you—tears streaming down your warm cheeks as he chuckles at your desperate attempts to reach your orgasm.

My lips curled into a grin as I slipped my hand into Ran’s awaiting palm. He kissed my knuckles before pulling me towards the center of the ballroom as the orchestra began playing a slow song. We swayed to the rhythm, his cheek pressed against my temple.
My eyes fell on Rindou, lilac eyes watching us as he drank his champagne. My chest tightened when he darted his gaze away and slipped away from the crowd.
I had always hated balls and celebrations ever since I was a kid, but now I hated them even more since Ran and I had to pretend to be the happy couple in front of everyone when they knew damn well we weren’t.
“Are you alright, doll?” Ran asked after a few songs of faster paced dancing. “Want to sit down?”
“I could use some fresh air, I’m not feeling well.” I murmured, holding onto his arm as he pulled us away from the crowd of dancing people that had formed around us.
He led me into the gardens with a hand on my lower back, but we were intercepted by one of his distant cousins on the way.
“Well, if it isn’t my favorite cousins!” She offered us a wide smile and took my hands in hers. “How have you been, darling? We didn’t see you on my husband’s birthday last month.”
“I truly apologize. I had an emergency and couldn’t accompany Ran.”
“Oh, no worries, dear! I know once you get married and start having children you’ll be unable to even grace us with your presence once a year with how busy you’ll be!”
My lips parted as I stared wide eyed at the woman at the mention of children. Ran came to my rescue, smiling sweetly at her as he started pulling me away. “If you’ll excuse us, we were on our way outside for some alone time.”
He started walking again without another word, only stopping once we stepped out into the garden and the chilly breeze of the night met our skin.
“There it is again…” I trailed off as I sat down on the stairs leading outside.
Ran sighed and stared up at the moon. His lips were curled down and eyebrows furrowed together.
I blinked away a tear that threatened to fall from my eyes. “You can go back inside, Ran. I don’t want to keep you away from your people.”
“Don’t stress yourself over her words.” He turned to look down at me. “Our betrothal was announced months ago, it’s only natural they start asking about the wedding and children.”
“I don’t want to start popping out children the moment we get married. It’s the only thing I’ve heard from my mother and aunts for years.” I stood up and pointed at the brunet. “You have absolutely no idea what my life was like growing up. While you got to run around the gardens and get dirty and play all you wanted to, I–”
“Hey, doll–“ Ran muttered as he tried to grab my hand but I was faster than him and took a step back.
“I had to learn how to do my makeup, what utensils to use when, what to say, how to serve tea, what to wear, and how to take care of my- no, not my children, your heirs.”
He remained still as I started punching his chest. His hand raised slightly to gesture his guards away, but he remained otherwise stoic as I let out all my anger with him.
“I never could do whatever I wanted. I wanted to ride my horse around the castle grounds, meet with the villagers every once in a while to see how I could help them, a-and–“ I paused when my voice cracked and let Ran crush my arms between us as he engulfed me in a hug. “I wanted to run my country, my people. I wanted to marry for love.”
I buried my face in his chest, tears falling freely down my face.
“I couldn’t even stand to look at you months ago when we saw each other after so many years. Suddenly I was faced with the very reason I had to learn about being the perfect wife and mother– to be your perfect wife and the doting mother of your children.”
He tilted my chin to make me look at him. “And you think I didn’t want to marry for love? That I didn’t want to, at least, court you and get to know you better after not seeing you for so long before we were thrusted into this relationship?”
“And why didn’t you?”
“My father left me no choice. He doesn’t expect to leave for the heavens anytime soon, but he wants to guarantee that I have an heir as soon as possible.”
I clicked my tongue, pushing him away from me as I walked up the steps. “I can’t believe this. I literally just told you I cannot stand speaking of children, of heirs. Can you even begin to imagine the pressure that puts on me? Can you imagine the scandal if I’m unable to give you any children at all? They’ll blame me, of course. Men are never guilty of infertility.”
Stopping at the top of the stairs, I glanced at Ran over my shoulder. His hands were inside his pockets, lips pursed together as he stared at me.
“Please excuse me with our parents and whoever asks about me. I’m not feeling quite well enough to put up a front right now.”
I took a deep breath and grabbed my skirt, walking down the hallway and away from the loud ballroom.
Closing the library doors behind me, I leaned my back on them and took a deep breath. While my initial intentions were to grab a book and read in my room for a couple of hours until I fell asleep, I didn’t even feel like reading once I got there.
I closed my eyes as I shakily let out the air from my lungs. My knees gave out and I slid down the door, tired of pretending to be the happy little bride my parents’ wanted me to be with Ran.
I felt movement nearby. A chair scraping the floor, then footsteps came up to me until I felt someone sitting beside me.
“I heard you talking to Ran.”
I was met with no other than my future brother in law staring at the ceiling, then meeting my eyes when he noticed my staring.
“Ran’s always been the charismatic brother, always knew what to say to gain our people’s respect and adoration.” He started, arms crossing over his chest as he adjusted his position against the wall. “He’s a natural leader. I’m the second best, always have been. I’m not introverted at all, but since I’m not the heir I’m often overlooked. Even more so after my mother died.”
My heart squeezed when I remembered her funeral and the tears that didn’t stop rolling down both brothers’ cheeks all throughout the funeral. Despite not remembering her much as much as he did, I did know she always treated me like the daughter she never had– how I wished my own mother treated me.
I reached over and took his hand in mine, lilac eyes widening slightly before adjusting his grip to hold onto my fingers. He was quiet for a moment longer, then closed his eyes as he leaned his head on the wall.
“There was so much pressure on his shoulders to be the perfect crown prince and never have a single hair out of place. He always used to put up a stoic front when we had to attend balls and events, loathing putting up with everyone’s hypocrisy.” He squeezed my hand. “Until your engagement was announced and he started appearing with you at all these events. His smiles look genuine now and he almost seems like he enjoys himself.”
“Almost?” I tsked, shuffling closer to the long haired male and pulling our hands to rest on my lap. “Gotta step up my game then.”
He scoffed. “What I want to say is that Ran’s lucky to have you and he knows that, he appreciates you. He would do anything for you… Even honor your wish about children.”
A sigh escaped my lips as I leaned my head on the blond’s shoulder. “I don’t think so. He wouldn’t go against your father.”
“Give him some credit. You’ll be his immediate family when you get married. He’ll probably even learn to love you, the way you deserve.”
“Oh, no. I hope not. I am marrying him because I have no other option, because it’s my duty.” I paused, then shook my head. “I don’t see myself falling in love with him.”
Rindou was quiet for a moment. I closed my eyes as if that would prevent him from feeling my racing heart where my chest was pressed against his arm. His finger hooked underneath my chin and he lifted my face to look at him. My breath hitched at how close we were, my free hand coming up to grab his wrist but making no move to actually push him away.
“Why not?”
It took me a moment to realize what he was asking. I grinned, then let out a laugh at his furrowed eyebrows. “All my teenage years saying I had a crush on you and you’re still wondering why I can’t love your brother? Did you not take me seriously?”
His lips twitched as he failed to hold back a smile. “I believe your exact words were that you were gonna be my wife someday.” He breathed out, fingers moving to cup my cheek.
“I did say that, didn’t I?” I murmured softly.
His fingers tightened around mine. “My father didn’t allow it.”
I furrowed my eyebrows. “What?”
“I told him I wanted to make you my wife.”
My lips parted at his confession. “Rindou–“
He leaned forward, making me forget just what I was about to say. His eyes fell on my lips as he paused just a breath away from me.
“What?” He murmured softly, letting go of my hand to cup my other cheek. “Did you not take me seriously?” He echoed my own words back to me.
He didn’t move a single inch even as I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
“I’m not going to kiss you if you don’t want to. I need a yes from you.”
My eyes fluttered open, they fell on his parted lips. “It’s not that I don’t want to, Rin.”
“Would you kiss me if you weren’t engaged to my brother?”
We stared at each other for a moment. When my lips parted to reply, a knock on the door startled us, making me push the blond away from me. I cleared my throat as he stood, then helped me up. “Yes?”
“I apologize for the intrusion, your Highness. I thought I might find prince Rindou in there, his Majesty and his Highness are looking for him.”
I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding when I realized it was just a servant at the door. I thanked whoever could hear my prayers that it wasn’t Ran at the door since he probably would’ve barged in without announcing himself.
“I believe I saw him heading for the gardens earlier, perhaps you should check outside.” Rindou rolled his eyes, a smile on his lips at my attempt to divert their attention from the upper floors.
“Thank you, your Highness. Don’t hesitate to call for us if you need anything before bed.”
“Will do.”
We remained quiet until we couldn’t hear her footsteps anymore. Rindou chuckled softly, “Guess that’s my cue to go.”
“Don’t keep them waiting.” I turned my back on him, heading toward the bookshelves to grab that book I came into the library in the first place for.
Rindou pulled me back toward him, fingers curling around my forearm to keep me in place. I looked at him expectantly.
“Forget what I said, okay? I don’t want to make you feel like you have to choose between my brother and I, mainly because our families already chose for you.”
He leaned down to press a gentle kiss to my knuckles, then walked out of the library without letting me say another word. My lips slowly curled into a smile despite the disappointment growing in me at the interrupted moment.
I traced my lips absentmindedly with my fingertips. Would I have really kissed him?

fem!reader, first pov, mutual pining, forbidden love, implied past sex, talks of weddings, arranged marriage, no smut on this one sadly i’m still rusty, ran being a sweetheart, fully self indulgent

Wedding this, wedding that. White gown this, seating chart that. Making heirs this, ruling an entire country that. My mother just wouldn’t shut up, as if she was the damn bride.
I couldn’t help the exhausted sigh that escaped my lips as I barely listened to what she had to say about my wedding and my future home. At this point she honestly just spoke because she adored hearing the sound of her own voice.
A warm hand reached under the table, fingers slipping between mine as their owner squeezed gently. I glanced at the man sitting beside me as his lips curled into a small, genuine smile. His lavender eyes didn’t leave mine as he raised our hands and left a kiss on my knuckles.
Well, at least I had him on my side.
“Look at them, they’re so adorable!” My mother exclaimed, clutching at her chest. “And to think they couldn’t stand each other when they first met. Truly a match made in heaven.”
Yeah, we hated each other’s guts because we couldn’t escape the future that had been planned for us since before we even knew how to walk. He was the crown prince and I had been bred ever since I could remember to be his wife. We eventually realized we had to at least pretend to be an united front so we’ve grown fond of each other, like the childhood friends that we are instead of the lovers we’re supposed to be.
No, my love was reserved for someone else.
Despite being a princess myself and my father’s only child, I would never be able to rule my country myself because I was a woman. Perhaps a small, childish part of me blamed Ran even if he’s not the one sending me off to foreign lands like they cannot wait to get rid of me already.
My cousin instead was to be crowned King the day my father was no longer in this world. The thought always left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Ran smiled politely at my mother, then turned toward my father at the head of the table. “I’m blessed to be able to spend the rest of my life with a woman such as your daughter, Your Majesty. I couldn’t ask for a better Queen for my people.” A half lie I found my cheeks getting warm at.
His fake smile dropped as soon as my parents turned their attention to one of my aunts- hell, I didn’t even know from which side of the family she was, but I was glad to have the spotlight off me again. Ran’s hand remained on mine for a moment longer before he picked his fork up and continued eating.
I felt a pair of eyes burning into the side of my face as I took my wine and gulped it down in one swig, then switched my empty drink with Ran’s so I wouldn’t seem like a drunk if my mother noticed the empty cup and the maids continuously refilling it. I needed all the alcohol I could have to stand my mother’s hypocrisy with our extended family.
My body betrayed me as I turned toward the man that had been staring at me the entire evening. His eyes, the same eyes of my fiancé but looking at me with much more love than Ran ever has, ever will. Those damned eyes that stared right back at me with so much intensity that I was forced to once again look away and distract myself with my mostly empty plate.
The same eyes that rolled into the back of his head the night prior as my name left his lips in soft pants.
I pressed my thighs together at the memory of his body between them. I blindly reached for Ran’s hand again and pulled it to my lap, his fingers intertwined with mine once again and this time he didn’t pull away, understanding that I needed the comfort at the moment.
Ran leaned toward me and pressed his lips to my temple. “We can excuse ourselves in the guise of wanting some alone time, if you’re too overwhelmed.” He murmured just loud enough for me to hear.
“I’m fine,” I whispered, leaning into his touch.
My eyes fell on Rindou again, only that this time he was staring at his brother with lips curled downwards. His knuckles were nearly white from how hard he was clenching his fists. My heart clenched when he glanced at me for no more than a second before he turned his back to me and engaged in conversation with my aunts and uncles.

“What did that test do to you?”
Harue gasped when the same voice speaking to her in her dreams called out to her in the middle of her daydream, bringing her back to reality. Instead of complete darkness, Kyōjurō stood a few feet away from her, looking at her with concern written on his features.
She blinked at the blond, staring at him with wide eyes. Her glass of water slipped from her fingers, glass shattering and water pooling around her feet.
“I’m sorry–“
“It’s okay.” He grinned. “I should be the one that’s sorry, I scared you. Go back to the girls, I’ll clean this up.”
Harue shook her head and kneeled down, taking the bigger pieces in her hands to drop them in the trash. As Kyōjurō went to grab the broom, he heard a hiss and more glass shattering. When he poked his head in the kitchen, Harue looked up at him with tears pooling in her eyes and her hand bright red with blood.
“What happened here?” Mitsuri asked as she rounded the corner. “Oh gods, Harue are you okay?”
“I’m fine, just dropped my–.” She winced as she stood up with her best friend’s help. “I probably shouldn’t have tried to pick it up myself.”
“That’s too much blood for a small cut.” Mitsuri murmured as she watched the ravenette’s blood starting to drip on the floor. “Do you have a first aid kit, Rengoku?”
The blond nodded. “I don’t remember which bathroom we left it at last time, but I’ll be right back.”
“I’ll just go with you.” Harue sniffed, taking a small towel to apply pressure to her palm.
Kyōjurō nodded and headed to the hallway bathroom. He grabbed the kit, motioning at Harue to climb onto the counter.
“It doesn’t seem that deep… I don’t think you’ll need stitches.” Kyōjurō murmured more to himself than to Harue. She seemed to be acting strange and he didn’t want to push her to talk if she didn’t want to, but she surprised him by scoffing and leaning her head against the mirror behind her.
“Good. I hate hospitals.”
He cleaned her hand carefully with water and soap. He glanced at her face, but she had her eyes closed. “I’m sorry in advance, I know it hurts.”
Her eyes widened when she felt isopropyl alcohol in the cut, slamming her free hand down beside her on the countertop. Kyōjurō watched a tear fall from her eye, he wiped it away with his thumb before he could stop himself.
They looked at each other for a few seconds, Kyōjurō’s eyes falling to her lips as she sat up straight, the distance between the two decreasing.
“Harue…” He whispered, surprising her with his soft tone. His heart was racing in his chest as he cupped her cheek and leaned forward.
She closed her eyes and turned her head to the side, making his lips land on her cheek. He pulled back, noticing fresh tears falling down her face and he knew these weren’t caused by her injury.
He cleared his throat and darted his eyes away. “I’m sorry.”
Kyōjurō cleaned her hand in silence, then wrapped a bandage around it to keep the gauze in place. She grabbed his arm with her free hand, forcing him to stay between her legs. Harue immediately let go of him and placed her hands on her lap, not even knowing why she pulled him back in the first place. Kyōjurō stared down at the sink.
“My parents were in an arranged marriage, they didn’t meet each other until two days before their wedding. When they did, their eyes met across the room and they were immediately drawn to each other. It was like a magnet was trying to pull them together.”
The blond placed his hands on the edge of the counter, leaning his weight forward as he recalled the story his mother loved to tell her sons whenever they asked for it.
“Their hands touched and suddenly it felt like no one else was in the room, just them and the memories of their past life flashing right in front of their eyes. It sounded like the perfect love story, it was so meant to be that the universe made sure they would be together. I thought that if my parents can still look at each other with the same love as 25 years ago, then I shouldn’t settle for any less than my soulmate.”
Harue hesitated before resting her hand atop his, squeezing gently.
“But then I met you.” Kyōjurō grinned, still not facing the ravenette. “You took my breath away the moment I saw you walk into that café. All the signs were there– so when you touched me that night… Yeah, you could say I was disappointed that you weren’t my soulmate.”
It was Kyōjurō’s turn to grab Harue’s hand before she could turn away from him. He finally met her eyes, a smile adorning his lips.
“But then I realized, what the hell? I’m seriously letting my parents’ experience dictate my life? I’m not letting this girl go even if the universe is against it!”
“Kyō–“
“What I’m trying to say, Harue… I really like you and if I haven’t already fucked up my chance with you, I’d like to take you out on a date.”
She stared at him, still taking in what he just said. Her lips parted, but no sound came out of them. She leaned up, grabbing the back of his neck with the intention of pulling him down to press their lips together, but a deep voice called out her name taking them away from their moment.
She sighed, cursing herself internally for not closing the door as Tengen appeared in the doorway. His maroon eyes flickered between the pair, watching their blushing cheeks and darting eyes. The blond occupied himself throwing away bloody gauzes and returning everything he didn’t use back in the first aid kit.
“I’m sorry for interrupting.” He smirked at the ravenette when she finally met his eyes. “The girls told me you cut yourself.”
“Just a small cut in my palm, I don’t get why everyone’s making such a big deal.” She shrugged and slid off the counter, touching Kyōjurō’s shoulder when she walked behind him.
Tengen stared at his roommate, watching his eyes follow Harue’s every movement as she walked past the taller man to head back to the living room. Their eyes met momentarily, making Kyōjurō snap out of his daydream and put the kit away.
He grinned at the blond. “Are you two…” He trailed off.
“I wouldn’t know, since you interrupted us.”
“Oh,” Tengen raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms over his chest. “How unflashy of me.”
Kyōjurō grinned as he walked past his roommate. “Very.”
“Listen,” The blond paused and turned to the silverette. “Harue and I have known each other since we were kids. Even if we’re not as close as we once were… I’ll kill you if you ever hurt her.”
“Aren’t you supposed to be my best friend?”
Tengen laughed and headed back to the living room. “Come on, the girls are already finishing a bottle of wine and they haven’t even started getting ready. At this pace we’re never going to the party.”

Kyōjurō had seen the way his parents looked at each other and longed to find his soulmate so he could have that kind of love, but then he met a raven haired girl with sapphire eyes and he suddenly found himself second guessing if he truly wanted to find his soulmate or give his heart to this girl.

just a teaser of a little something i'm working on... still debating if i should make it just a written fic or springle a bit of smau in there ♡ also a test to see if this appears in the tags
“I’ve known the Miya brothers my entire life, our moms were best friends so obviously their children must be best friends too.” I grinned as I turned toward the newlyweds. “I’ve never seen Tsumu look as happy as he does with you, Kai.”
“Maybe when he’s on the volleyball court.” Osamu murmured, but it was loud enough to be picked up by the mic. I nudged him with my shoulder as the guests laughed at his comment.
“I’m glad I got to witness your love story from the moment Tsumu told me he had a crush on a girl from his class, to when he asked Samu and I to help him choose the perfect ring to propose. It means a lot to me that both of you trusted me enough to help you plan this wedding, even if it’s been hectic these past few months together.” I looked around the room, finding Kiyoomi’s eyes even with the low lights and sending a smile his way. He returned it with a small grin of his own.
I cleared my throat and returned my gaze to the couple, raising my glass toward them. “This is only the beginning, Mr. and Mrs. Miya. May you live the rest of your long life happily in love. To the newlyweds!”
Osamu and I clinked our flutes of champagne together. Before I could take a sip of my drink, I felt the mic getting ripped off my hand.
“Thank you Osamu for your beautiful words,” Kairi said into the mic with a wide smile on her lips. “But most of all, thanks to the girl who made this night happen, despite being in love with the groom. You just had to go for the taken twin, didn’t you?”
I glanced at Atsumu, who was already standing up and reaching for his wife’s hands. Osamu gently touched my shoulder, pulling me to get off the stage. I was frozen still, my feet couldn’t move no matter how much I wanted to run away and hide from everyone’s curious eyes. My eyes fell in Sakusa’s general direction, but he was no longer standing at our table where I had just seen him.
“A toast to my favorite bridesmaid” Kairi lifted her flute in my direction. “A shame that you’re always the bridesmaid and never will be anyone’s bride.”

there’s supposed to be a panel of Harue telling Mitsuri of the latest mess she got herself into and then Mitsuri pressuring her to tell at least Giyū about it, that’s why she knows who saw Harue at the store
i deleted it because i didn’t like the flow of the dialogue and then forgot lmao
anyway i’m done with the slow burn i’m surprised i lasted this long, it’s gonna be straight into the good stuff from now on
there’s a warning in the masterlist about there possibly being smut in future chapters but i know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea
so i’d like to know, would it bother you if there was smut in future updates?
