Moving On
Hello friends, this space had been awfully quiet as I shifted to Instagram where I felt it is easier to connect with the audience. I'm sure most of you are on IG too. Thank you for being around and thank you, tumblr for this wonderful space for the past five years. See you on IG / FB. xoxo, Ziyue

Presenting you this Children’s Book, Just Right Family, an adoption story written by Silvia Lopez and I’m happy to be part of it to illustrate her story. Thank you so much, Silvia Lopez and Albert Whitman & Company for having me.
This story is about six years old, Meili who is adopted from China and she learns that her parents are going to adopt a baby from Haiti. She thinks it isn’t necessary, thinking her family is just right. How did she come to accept it at the end? Check it out to find out. ;)
As adoption is a sensitive issue especially in Asian culture, I can totally understand if parent(s) of an adopted child feels this book should not be read. It was interesting when I discovered how some or maybe most people from Western culture are pretty much open to talking about an adoption, especially to adopted children or siblings of the adopted child. Hmmm, if you are one of them and that you’d like to have this book, please feel free to PM me. I have 6 books to give away. :)
Video of the book, Just Right Family can be viewed here.

Every time I see someone walking the dog, I always thought that must be so nice of the dog to encourage one to get away from the seat. It is said that a walk can spark ideas. ✨

Worked on a book cover last year for the middle grade novel, Suzie Q. Fights Back written by Jane Cutler and it was released today. The story is set in 1940s where prejudice against the different races took place. A ten-year-old child, Susan who has befriended the daughter of her apartment building's janitor who is black, takes a courageous stand by bending the rules. A good read for young readers ages 8 - 12. Thank you, AD Kerry Martin.

Happy to share my very first picture book that was released earlier this month! Big thanks to Thrity Umrigar for the beautiful story, Mela for the intro, AD Frances Soo and ED Julie Matysik for having me.
It was an occasional struggle working on this, for having lost my Mum two years ago. At the end, I believe she would be so proud of me for having completed it, not just for myself but also for children and their Mums all over the world.

So grateful to have this great privilege to illustrate portraits of those women who totally deserved respect and attention, for this exhibition, Missing From History in conjunction with Women of the World Festival (WOW) that was held annually in UK. That event is a celebration of their achievements and for overcoming obstacles despite of their disabilities. Thank you so much, Southbank Centre for having me on this great project.
From top left: Teresa Deevy, Rosa May Billinghurst, Harriet Tubman, Helen Keller (one of my all-time favourite role models), Jamala al-Baidhani, Audre Lorde, Nasreen Mohamedhi, Jacqueline du Pre and Virginia Woolf. Next illustration: Frida Khalo

A reminder that a single word - ‘Please’ is useful in a thousand different ways.
Last year, I had an opportunity to create a few illustrations for this Children Picture Book, Give Please A Chance that was recently launched last month. I was informed that it hit #1 on the New York Times bestseller list last week! Hearty congrats to everyone involved in this project!
Thank you so much, Bill O’ Reilly, James Patterson, AD Tracy and my Agent, Mela for having me on this exciting project with other talented Illustrators.
