making a last review to the trailer for my Au, i come to realise something... creepy.
WE KNOW the most majority of the experiments were created after Orphans, not just Catnap, our previous best example was Mommy Long Legs (that was created after a girl named Marie Payne).
Even when we see that they don't neccesary stay with a children mentality ('cause MLL act and speak like a grown woman, and as we see in the trailer Dogday also have a man voice), probably a lot of them does, specially those that were created not long after Playtime Co. shutdown (aka didn't have time to grown in mind).
Whit this in mind, this scene with the ''sacrifices of the heretics'' shows a lil' more dark scene that we originally think.
Tumblr media
You see, Catnap decided to judge all the toys with the same rules, but while some of them were old enough to grown a conscience of their situation (aka ''grown'' in mentality) to remain docile even when they were against the prototype's ideals (like the big Dogday), probably those that were ''heretics'' in Catnap's eyes were just, acting like children, children that were afraid of what happens to them and were not okay with the rules Catnap want them to follow, so they end up like... this.

Not settled on anything yet for the toys' og human lore however:
Poppy's doll appearance is a bit similar to how she was when human
MLL, Kissy, Huggy and Picky are usamerican and white
I now realize Kickin looks like Canarinho Pistola and now I feel a need to make his parents brazilian, but he never learned any pt-br before losing them. I will use this for angst. Also white and he was PALE. The Sun was his enemy before PlayCo. /j
Dogday is a black latino probably???? Considering him to have originally columbian parents
Bubba is south indian
Not settled on Crafty, Hoppy or Bobby yet, I'm considering not making Crafty white (maybe brown latina?) and Hoppy chinese
Miss Delight was also a white girl, but she had black hair. She used to help other kids with homework but some bullies thought she looked spooky due to how frail and small she was.
MLL also had an older brother who never turned into a toy.
Kickin had an aunt but she couldnt afford to take care of him.
Not settled on the rest atm

Poppy Playtime - Headcanons and Theories (and both combined)
The regular-sized toys (like the small Huggy from the Project Playtime trailer) were made from animals, the slightly bigger ones (like Bunzo and the Huggies from Whack-A-Wuggy) were made from orphans, and the big toys (Huggy and Mommy Long Legs) were made from employees
Rich becomes Huggy, Patty becomes Kissy. Since there were rules against employee relationships, and Patty and Rich were of a very small group to break that rule, they figured it’d be easier to use them for those roles rather than attempt to induce romantic affiliation with other subjects.
Marie joined Playtime Co because she liked the idea of being a part of so many children’s upbringings by providing them with the toys that would shape them
The human-to-toy transformation process isn’t magical or a soul-transference - the human bodies themselves are used, and they are consequently conditioned and brainwashed to act in-character (think of the movie Tusk, or don’t, it’s terrifying)
The toys were intended to be weapons of war, a mix of Trojan Horse and sleeper agent
The larger toys, like MLL, have prosthetic attachments, which is why they don’t bleed in some places but do bleed in others
I like to imagine each primary character had their childhood “stolen” from them in a sense.
Stella was a young girl during World War 2, and her desire to be a child again mostly originates from wanting a do-over
Avery grew up in a small, very religious town, with an alcoholic father and a distant mother. The local priest was very…fond of him. He still suffers Catholic guilt on a day to day basis.
More of a theory to explain why he has no last name but: Rich himself is an orphan, that’s why he’s somewhat reluctant to say what he’s doing is “for the orphans” - he either knows people would expect him to empathise, or he’s embarrassed about admitting it. Also the movie he references in chapter 2 is part of a series known for focusing on orphans (I have an alternative theory here that’s more ‘out there’). The fact that he has no last name at his age implies that he was never adopted at all
Jimmy Roth’s a self proclaimed “mama’s boy” and his father left for milk when he was 14 and never came back. He’s shit at spelling and grammar but super super good at math
With Patty as Kissy - Kissy’s lesser amount of control over her movements when compared to Huggy or MLL isn’t due to anything happening during the creation process. Patty struggled with motor control, and having longer limbs and a heavier head did not help with that
Avery has a massive acne problem. He doesn’t pick or touch his face, and he does all the correct things, he doesn’t know why he still breaks out
Rich struggles with regulating his volume. He knows there’s a volume rule, he just never knows how loud he’s being.
The Player was a scientist
Alternatively, The Player is a complete nobody
Due to the car crash sounds found in the game files, car models being found, as well as Rowan Stoll’s reference to Playtime Co sabotaging his car to make it crash, the Player might have suffered a similar fate, which is why they weren’t around when all the employees went missing - they were probably at the hospital recovering
Rich and Avery aren’t box-packers, but something higher-up. Think about it - Rich says that getting sent to the Reject Warehouse was a demotion, but he’s the only one working here and was in charge of managing calls to retailers, operating heavy machinery, and cataloguing failed prototypes - completely solo. If that’s a demotion, then he must’ve had a more complicated job than box-packer (I can’t imagine him being a manager though to be honest, especially with him referring to the higher-ups as separate from him and Avery, so who knows what he might’ve been?)
Avery knew a few magic tricks, but since he didn’t go to parties often there was rarely a good time to show them off…until working at Playtime Co. Rich has no idea how magic tricks work, so he’s always insanely impressed with whatever Avery shows him. It always cheers him up.
Playcare was founded around the same time Huggy was created (since Rich talks about how the warehouse has been flooded with orphanage junk recently in the same tape in which Avery asks where the Huggy boxes are being kept - if both of them have been working there for a while, as the tape implies, then Avery would know where they are kept if the tape takes place a while after Huggy’s creation. Judging by the fact that he doesn’t know, and Rich’s complaints about the “program”, then Playcare was likely founded around the time Huggy was created)
Out of Rich and Avery, Avery’s the one with zero chill. He just never shows it
Due to only the female toilets and female locker rooms being modelled in an unused map from chapter 1, the Player could likely be female (since it implies that those rooms would’ve been the only ones you would have entered)
Rich is autistic

Hi Val,
I have a question. When will we (*cough* I) role play as Honey in the Dad!Steve fic?👀
On a more serious note, can you tell us a little something about the new fics you have planned? Build the anticipation🙌🏻
Hi Sab!
So one of the new fics I’m getting ready is the Dad!Steve x Reader. It’s titled A love as sweet as honey… you’ll see the series masterlist posted soon. Also Honey might make her first appearance in MLL in the next chapter I am so excited!
A love as sweet as honey: we know that the main story line is that Steve and Honey are friends that have a one night stand which ends with Honey getting pregnant. Now Honey has trust issues so she’s very guarded. It scares her that she’s pregnant with Steve’s baby because she fears he’ll take the baby away from her. Steve on the other hand wants to make this possible relationship work but with Honey keeping him at arms length he feels like he’s failing his baby.
You should see me in a crown: I’m very excited about this one too. Ot was originally going to be a one shot but you know me… there are secrets that need to be revealed. Reader won’t know who to trust. Bucky wants to be selfish and find love and not be in a marriage of convenience. 👀👀 it will be very interesting…

NCIS fans, get ready to see Gibbs like you've never seen him before.
CBS announced Friday that its flagship procedural is getting a '90s-set prequel series, NCIS: Origins, which will follow a younger version of Mark Harmon's beloved character, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, as a newly minted special agent making a name for himself at Camp Pendleton. While Harmon will be returning to the NCIS franchise to narrate and executive-produce Origins, he won't be starring — which raises a big question.
Who should play young Gibbs?
Of course some major names come to mind, guys like Glen Powell and Austin Butler. But they're securely movie stars at this point and not likely to commit to leading a network show. (There's also Harmon's son, Sean Harmon, who has played a young Gibbs on NCIS, but he's exec-producing Origins with his dad.) So, the EW staff has some ideas about who should be your grandma's next crush.
Lucas Till
Tumblr media
Lucas Till is already in the CBS family and proved he can handle an fan-favorite prequel character with MacGyver. Plus, that jawline screams young Mark Harmon. —Sydney Bucksbaum
KJ Apa
Tumblr media
As Riverdale hunk Archie, KJ Apa proved he can handle the most absurd of network television scenarios. Now he can graduate and trade his ginger locks for a fresh blond look! —Maureen Lee Lenker
Robbie Amell
Tumblr media
I'm no NCIS expert, but I do think that Robbie Amell bears a decent resemblance to young Mark Harmon and seems like he's at the right juncture in his career for another network show. —Wesley Stenzel
Kevin Zegers
Tumblr media
With The Rookie: Feds caput on ABC, Zegers needs another outlet to showcase his federal agent skills. Plus, he could pass for a young Harmon. —MLL
Jaren Lewison
Tumblr media
Never have I ever seen an episode of NCIS, and Jaren Lewison was the first young TV actor I could think of who's buff enough to look like he just went through special forces training or whatever NCIS people do. On this show that would actually make sense for his character. —Jillian Sederholm
Chris Zylka
Tumblr media
Chris Zylka also has a young Mark Harmon's jawline. I have no other reason, but he really does look like his son (even more so than Harmon's actual son and the show's EP, Sean Harmon). —SB
Trevor Lawrence
Tumblr media
Sure, sure, Lawrence is a star football player for the Jacksonville Jaguars, hungry for a Super Bowl ring. But Harmon also got his start as a star QB (at the college level, for UCLA), and there's something about Lawrence's hair that makes us feel like he could sell it. —MLL
Patrick Schwarzenegger
Tumblr media
Straight off burning up the screen — literally — on Gen V, Patrick Schwarzenegger has the looks, charm, and moxie (not to mention last-name recognition) to play a young Gibbs. Although, truth be told, could we not just divert all this young Mark Harmon casting energy toward willing a Summer School reboot into existence instead? —Dalton Ross

bro your lucie and millie lore makes me go gdhjshdujdhfhfhk bro like yeah that demon cat did raise her huh
do you have any spare headcanons for them bro no pressure bro what with The Horrors that is going on rn hope you have a nice day bro
bro u made my entire morning when I read this ask earlier bro u are like a light in these dark times bro ur so cool this was so nice bro whaddahell....
u asking for hcs is like a ticket for me to yap city and a momentary relief from every single overwhelming news that we've gotten for like ever... So I will happily take it... Thank uu....
* I don't really have a solid idea on how/why Lucie decided to help Millie, I like to think the connection has blurred between the lines for them over the years. They're like.. two parts of one soul, yet still very much distinct from one another. I like to symbolize this by drawing them w only one eye of the opposite on my serious-er comics w em! I think it's neat!
* Millie gave Lucie their lil purple bow, Lucie somehow conjured that witch outfit for her when she reached 400(?) years old, idk.
* I think lucie is best described as a guardian. They (Lucie and Millie) think of each other almost like they're one another's pets, if that makes sense.
* lucie Cares about millie but doesn't really show it in a conventional day. They appear really mean and harsh on an outside perspective but mll doesn't really know the difference so she doesn't care nor mind.
* not to BRAINROT a lil on this point. but like, on the topic of there being multiple timelines and there being multiple mlls, I like to think that despite the thousands and thousands of scenarios and universes, failed or otherwise, there is and will only ever be one(1) Lucie. They live through all of them at the same time, merging w mll in one of the timelines to help her watch over all of them forever doesn't really change much outside of like... having someone who gets what they're going thru.
im now lost on what else to talk about 😖 ngl i haven't really been thinking about these two for a hot minute. I don't think mll gave much thought to lucies origins and how they TECHNICALLY raised her since she was like. 12, so all brainrot I've conjured since I've realized the latter has prolly been vomited on a forgotten twitter thread somewhere. this is all I've got dgsgahjdjsjfjdj thank u again for the v nice ask :,) HOPE U HAVE A NICE DAY TOO!!!!

headcanon or info dumping for rot (yes i have headcanons about the fuckint creature)
rot is pretty much turbo cancer! it consists of cysts, presumably filled with some sort of fluid? my heart says serous fluid or something else that is acidic. they are blind but they have super sharp hearing - or maybe they just sense vibrations when something walks around. the rot was originally just proto rot, the stuff that is stuck to walls and only has a bunch of tenties sticking out. the mobile versions of the rot developed later!
a version of the Rot that all slugcats can meet is Brother Long Legs, down in Garbage Wastes (GW from here). this is where Five Pebbles (FP from here) tried to flush out his stupid turbo cancer that he himself caused, that's why they ended up in GW..i have no idea why BLLs are brownish? usual rot is blue, but oh well, maybe they absorbed the dirty water
in campaigns that happen earlier chronologically, Spearmaster and Hunter, BLLs can also be found in Shoreline, near Looks To The Moon (LTTM (FP is taking away her water to try and get rid of his stupid turbo cancer)). BLLs are also smaller. Has a Proto version (stuck to walls)
DLLs (blue rot with legs) can be found in The Exterior, inside FP's can, and in an earlier campaign (Hunter) - in GW too. They are the most common type of rot pics you receive! has a Proto version too, in the Unfortunate Development segment of FP (fuckint infested)
MLLs, Mother Long Legs, is my favorite. It's the largest mobile Rot cyst and she's purple!! In fact she is so beeg she will eat other Rot cysts if she finds any. No proto version she's too cool. The first version of her got thrown out into GW, then devolving into DLLs and BLLs. Then she got evolved again in the future! (Rivulet campaign) just a queen. She has so much HP you literally need to cause a singularity with a singularity bomb just to kill her. and then she'll be back next cycle<3
hope you didn't mind the info dump! vote rot! rotsweep!! i beg you everyone
I never mind info dumps!!! I cant play the game so I love hearing about them instead

peter if you ever build a MLL playlist i want to see it please please please please please i think it would be awesome and epic and i would enjoy it
i have SEVERAL in fact. the main two are the original Do It Again mix ft. the title song and the current chapter mix ft. I'll Dream Alone. but also often this boogeyman mix, and the dreamsharing one (which was made a long time ago but I love what I love). I think when I'm done I'll make a proper sequenced playlist but these are the things that are always playing in my mind when I write

An ‘Uncommon early lineage switch’ in an MLL rearranged adult B-lineage Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia to Mixed-phenotypic acute leukemia (B/Myeloid) by  Narendra Agrawal in International Journal of Clinical Images and Medical Reviews
Tumblr media
Case Report
Lineage switch is an infrequent phenomenon with an incidence of ~ 0.6% of all de novo leukemias and seen in almost 6% of relapsed cases. This phenomenon is observed following therapy or at the time of relapse. Switch in lineage tends to occur in younger patients and is associated with particularly poor outcomes.[1]
https://ijcimr.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Fig-1__1_.jpg
Discussion
Our clinical report illustrates an adult refractory B -ALL with t (4;11) (q21;23), AF4:MLL fusion who transformed to Mixed-phenotypic acute leukemia;KMT2A-rearranged during his second month of therapy. Lineage switch in MLL rearranged paediatric ALL is common, but in adults it is not well reported. During the literature review, we found 2 cases of adult ALL harbouring t (4;11) transformed to AML [1,4]. First case illustrated chemotherapy responsive MLL rearranged B-ALL who underwent allogeneic stem cell transplantation (Allo SCT) in remission after induction therapy, who transformed to AML post 100 days of Allo SCT[4]. Second case illustrated refractory MLL rearranged B-ALL adult that rapidly transformed to AML following initiation of blinatumomab therapy [1].  However there was no case found to have switched from B acute lymphoblastic leukemia to Mixed-phenotypic acute leukemia;KMT2A-rearranged .Mechanism for lineage switch in MLL rearranged acute leukemia is not clear yet. Reports showing a strong trend of lineage switch involving B and myeloid lineages suggest that B myeloid progenitor might be involved in the mechanism of lineage switch. Studies reporting lineage switch post anti CD19 therapy; blinatumomab and CD19 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR-T), further advocates this theory [3].In our case it is not possible to state that transformation occurred post Venetoclax therapy, as flow cytometric evaluation was not done prior to start of venetoclax therapy. Development of secondary AML as a result of therapy related process can be ruled out in view of early lineage switch (< 6 months of therapy) and consistent finding of the t (4;11) (q21;23) at diagnosis of B-ALL and transformation. The (4;11) rearrangement detected at diagnosis, and phenotypic switch suggests that the original clone harboured a bi-lineage potential. If further genetic studies including NGS or gene expression studies done at baseline could have predicted the bi lineage potential is also unclear as the case reported by Haddox C et al did not show any change in the baseline NGS and the NGS performed during relapse. In conclusion, haematologists should be cognizant while treating MLL rearranged B -ALL adults for a lineage switch. It also underlies the importance of repeat evaluation of the disease if there is no response to standard therapy.
