Jiralf* Infant Development

Very little is known of Jiralf culture and biology, and what we do know is only given to us by dissenters. Due to the war, information on anything jiralf related is very minimal, however, we do know some things.

Mostly that baby jiralves are able to walk before they are a year old. there are many theories as to why this is, but the main one is the fact that, while jiralves are the dominate species of their planet, they still are hunted by predatory animals.

And adult jiralf can only carry an infant for maybe the first five (5) months of the infants life, before they become too heavy for the jiralf's "arms". While a baby can be easily carried on the mother's or father's back, the ability to walk becomes an important part of an infants early development. Even if it's not as important as it use to be.

This old construction company work bench has been through a lot- some of it at my own hands. Time to give it a little tlc back. Going to putty up all the scrapes and dings, sand it, and paint it. The legs will stay the stained wood cause they're gorgeous. I might buy a massive cutting board surface for it but that's $$$ so I'll have to see/do more art comms and sales for that.

I also might take offthe front guard because I never tilt it and I need to see if I can make the drawers slide a bit better.

Room update...

Cosplay prints arrived, I had planned to just hang up the food themed ones in that corner but somehow it looked so lost I ... decided to make a full cosplay corner.

Plus ordered the (for now) last missing furniture as the Detolf gets discontinued here I had to order T_T .. otherwise we would have picked up the Kallax and I would have gotten the cabinet later on.

Pseudo-Centaur Infant Development

These little babies can fit a who lot of SQUEAK into 'em. Probably the loudest of the Out-Worlder* infants, but also tend to be the happiest. While climbing and walking are a pretty important part of a pseudo-centaur's life, they tend to talk about as long as Centaurs to develop those particular abilities (though Centaurs don't usually climb as much when they are babies).

Despite the fact that pseudo-centaurs are a quadrupedal species, and the assumption that it would be a lot easier for them to learn to walk, it has been shown that just because you're a more stable walker, does not mean it comes more naturally to you. 4 legs just means more limbs to keep track off.

*Out-Worlder is the most common term for all sophont aliens on Nijezdo. While you can use the term "alien" that word has mostly been used for anything that does not originate on Nijezdo... which happens to be most things
