This may be considered a very unpopular opinion but...I've tried to imagine like how exactly Logan loves Rory, like what his personal feelings for her are. And I don't mean it in the sense of how he's expressed his love or admiration for her, I mean like how he personally has felt for Rory in ways that isn't just explained through words to her. And I have to be honest: I come up short every time I've thought about it now.

I don't deny that Logan begged Rory to take him back, to the point where he went to Lorelai to plead with her to ask Rory to reconsider for him. And yes, he bought and did several things which were nice, thoughtful and considerate towards Rory in those moments. But I honestly don't think that Logan ever had a scene within the original series or even the revival where we actually get to hear about how he feels towards Rory or even see it, without Rory herself being in the room or talking to him. You know how we got numerous scenes where Jess is back in Stars Hollow in season 4, and both Luke and Lorelai repeatedly mention Rory to him? Or how Jess confesses that he told Rory he loved her to Luke? Or how we even get to see Jess's own reactions to seeing her around town? We get none of that with Logan. And this is actually something that we even got with Dean to a lesser extent, like when Jess comes in season 2 and you have several moments where Dean expresses his doubts to Lorelai. By comparison, the most we see of Logan talking to someone about Rory is to Lorelai, and I can't even take this as complete 'proof' because obviously Logan tried to be "at his most charming" with her when she's Rory's mother and he's asking her for a favor relating to her daughter and his relationship with her. We never get scenes where Logan talks to his friends about Rory, or even to Mitchum about her. And I don't even find this as a fault towards him as a character, I simply find this as a personal fault towards the writing. Even in season 7, I don't think we ever really get this with him. We get Logan talking to Mitchum about his job and wanting to quit, but again, nothing in terms of a scene where he talks about her with someone else (without Rory being in the room). And I don't fully know why, but it's a reason why I find their relationship somewhat lacking. There's just a lot of moments where Logan doesn't even feel fully fleshed out to me because of this. Like yes, I know he loves Rory later on and wants to be with her, but how does he love her, beyond the supposed "healthy, perfect" way his fans repeatedly say? Like, why was he fine with suddenly up and leaving after his turned-down proposal? Was his love for Rory this passionate and desperate to fully have her? Or was it something he felt like was "time" for them to do in their relationship? I feel like we never get a proper answer for this even in season 5, where at most he just kept going hot and cold on her. I've seen some fans mention that he very much so did think of her in season 5 while he was ghosting her and she ended up crying on the bathroom floor, but where exactly was this??? Is this really a proven thing within the writing or is it just another fan-favorite view of him?

Opinionwise, I sadly can’t share much in regards to Logan overall because I’m 1.25 episodes away from finishing season 5. And when it comes to seasons 6 and 7, most of it I either remember so vaguely that my opinion is unreliable or I just haven’t watched yet... What I can say is that season 5 Logan is a fuckboy through and through. We don’t get any sign from scenes or dialogue or even looks that Logan was thinking of Rory while he was off doing other stuff and possibly dating other girls (for all we know he might have, but it is pure speculation and not confirmed canon onscreen). He made a point out of not getting tied down but sabotaged any of Rory’s attempts to explore that same freedom (see: costume party). When Rory clarified her needs and explained that she respected his boundaries, he accused her of forcing him into a relationship or dealing some ultimatum that she wasn’t dealing before begging to be her boyfriend no less than two minutes later in real time. And while he doesn’t seem to take it like a sitting duck, we don’t see a lot of him fighting his family over their sexist and elitist opinions about Rory as a potential long term girlfriend for Logan. He’s by no means the devil, but he does nothing to prove he’s actual boyfriend material either (again, at least in season 5).

Also I feel like while Dean did get some moments to express his feelings for Rory, what makes Jess stand out to many viewers (especially his fans) is that his whole existence isn’t tied to a romance with Rory. Like no, we don’t see him after season 6, but from what I’ve learned that had less to do with him not serving a purpose anymore without Rory and more to do with scheduling conflicts and behind the scenes disagreements. Dean only exists in regards to relationships, and even though he introduces new characters like Lindsay, his arcs are always about where he stands with Rory. Jess had his arc with Luke. He had a minor arc with Lorelai. Hell, his existence introduced Liz Danes to the town and to becoming a recurring character on the show without him. While Dean and Logan are narratively (though not physically) incapable of existing without Rory, Jess can (at least in theory). I think that might be why some Jess fans actually turn on Rory more than Rogan or Dean x Rory shippers do. Because we are allowed to see Jess side of the story in more ways than one, it is easier to pick one of at least three sides (Rory, Jess or both) as opposed to rooting for or against a coupling.

Since we're only a few days away from the last episode, I decided to COUNT DOWN everything we´ve got so far ( that can be interpreted very easily as romantic ) and discuss what the actual fuck is going on with second season. Because even though I shipped lokius practically from S1E2, I absolutely did NOT expect this kind of development. (Not that I´m complaining)

Warning: This is gonna be LONG post, lots of screenshots, lots of SPOILERS, lot of "oh-my-god-they-so-cute" language, and little bit of meta.

I originally thought that this post would be everything at once, but since I have just too many screenshots this time around, I´ll have to split it. so every post will be one episode. Color coding means:

side note: I already wrote, about how amazing it is, that Mobius is unable to fight but fights anyway and how beautifuly, and ridiculously brave he is HERE. But this is about Loki/Mobius interactions, so I´ll try my best not to talk about THAT. (Even when I´m really happy, that s2 continues with this formula and Mobius is still his completely defenseless while aggressively brave self. I love him, btw.)

Loki trying to make him feel better and absolutely KILLING IT! btw, I know, that some people think, this scene doesn´t make sense, because Loki didn´t "lost it" during avengers, but was controlled by mind stone, etc.... well I think that it actually doesn´t matter. Guess what else doesn´t make sense? For example the fact, that they already talked about Loki fighting Avengers ( during their first meeting.) Loki is aware, that Mobius saw New York invasion at least twice now, and he´s telling him anyway. I would say, that point here is Loki trying to lift Mobius´s spirit, entertain him, make him smile. Why else woud he start his monolog by "remember, when...?" And I think, that this is huge, actually: Loki, using his bad memory, defeat, his humulianting experience to make Mobius feel better. So not only, that we see, he no longer care about being rurel but we see him making lightly fun of it FOR MOBIUS´S SAKE! He has different priorities now... our immortal god is a grown man now... it´s just so fucking beautiful... 🥺

Also Mobius saying to Loki: "come on, you´re the God of Mischief" Like it´s a best thing in the world, and Loki gives him THIS LOOK! (I mean that head tilt would be considered "acting" category, but I´m already making concessions by including all these things under one number :D

small details in the dnpc video no one is mentioning

okay, look, i'm gonna admit it, i'm a game/film theory girly and a whore for lore, so i pick at details i shouldn't be picking at, so here's some things i see in the video that i don't see being mentioned in theories/analyses. also keep in mind my brain consists of a single cell encapsulated in aspic (i know what the actual deeper meaning is this is just a bit of fun for me)

the thing underneath the piano - the camera falls off the piano in one scene and something (i still cant figure out what exactly it might be) is visible, oddly clear-looking for something underneath a broken piano in shoddy lighting (actually looking at it again it might be a corpse, is it possibly phil's old body?)

dan telling phil not to film him drawing the sigils but phil still filming - you might be able to also throw in the part where phil screams "NO" when the camera's on him sitting in the corner; they don't seem to want things to be filmed but it feels like they're obligated to record everything to some extent

phil's very explicit control over dan - this is to the point where he even has to tell dan what and what isn't food, and takes away water privileges for some reason (btw this is your reminder to drink some water) and overall very demanding tone when instructing him

SOFT AND NEAT - there's a lot of reinforcement of this, its clearly a joke but i'm overanalytical and will blatantly ignore this. there's heavy hesitation with any sharp object around them (when dan has to cut his hand, kill phil, take out phil's heart, mentioning razor blades when using the shaving foam)

dan still primarily uses his left hand - people have mentioned how he's been "fixed" but him using his right hand seems to be performative since he pours most things, mixes with his left hand, and even primarily uses his left hand to spread the blood (plus he never sacrificed himself unlike phil who seems to have died in potato stamps and been resurrected with perfect vision) there's also old superstitions that being left-handed means you're somehow cursed by/connected to satan, speaking of which...

dan has a much better connection and the ability to communicate directly with Him - he seems to be a conduit, possibly being used by phil to properly perform anything (which also probably helped with his resurrection and eyesight improvement), he has uncontrollable actions from time to time

the sigils themselves - what do they all mean? what could they mean in a bigger, symbolic context? anyone that understands them pls explain to my aspic brain

the entire place fucking burns down after the ritual is complete and they're embraced by Him - it's clear at least to me that the shed is set on fire at the end of the video, cutting off further possible footage

dan doesn't put blood on phil's forehead during the ritual - might've just been a slipup during filming but we also dont see the blood dan put on his own forehead once he arrives and theyre all standing up in the pentagram

also just a couple fun facts:

the number on the case file when converted to corresponding letters of the alphabet spell out "satan"

what dan says in his reversed clip is just "thanks!", nothing is really said in the reversed clip of phil opening the shed door its juts kinda a random noise someone made

Aaaaand some misc nonsense crackpot theories/ideas/thoughts/brain vomit that my brain keeps me awake at night with (optional reading):

if the demon taking them at the end is actually baphomet and not just some generalized idea of satan, then "mother" could be another way to refer to "him" since baphomet is portrayed as having both female and male characteristics (bobs n pennies)

Yes, this sounds stupid, but my god it’s been almost three years of an absolute rollercoaster of feelings and denials and tears and revelations…

and if you don’t mind, I’m gonna rant about it.

To start off, i wasn’t always a bkdk shipper.

I shipped izu*cha at first (not saying it’s a bad ship btw; it’s actually quite cute. im just afraid people’ll be mad if I accidentally invade their tag lol), primarily because I assumed that would be the ship that became canon.

But also, my veryyyyy leasttttt favorite character… was Bakugou Katsuki.

When I tell you that I would’ve loved nothing more than to somehow spawn into the bnha universe and punch that brat in the face— AGHHHHHHHHHH

Now this wasn’t all his fault: A) I watched the dub first lol, and B) he reminded me of someone that i was not in a place to stand up to at the time, and his constant anger, yelling, and harsh treatment of Izuku—who i began to relate to—made me hateeee him.

There was a time when I literally said “if he died, I wouldn’t miss him.” <- this was later proven false lol

So, I was watching the anime dub with an absolute animosity for our resident deuteragonist, but on top of that…

I was watching it with a friend with a crunchyroll account who lived in another state that I was visiting and staying with for two weeks, so by the time i had to go back home, we’d only gotten up to the part where All Might was getting Inko’s permission to let Izuku stay at the UA dorms.

Anddddddd in my drive to consume more bnha once I got home, i somehow stumbled across an Instagram account that posted bnha sub episodes divided into parts,

but they only had season four and onwards.

Sooooo I never saw the second half of season three… more importantly,

I NEVER SAW DEKU VS KACCHAN 2!!!!!

(I will say that I had seen a couple photos/edits/etc, but I never knew what had been said, or why they fought)

At this point in time, I’d been exposed to a lot of the fandom. My fyp on both IG and Pinterest were filled to the brim with all things bnha (because this is what happens when one has a hyperfixation), so I saw a lot of stuff.

Especially fanart.

This is where I started learning about the different ships.

I saw a lot of the side character ships and thought they were adorable (kamijirou, todomomo, even kiribaku), but then I saw some with Izuku.

Izu*cha was a given for me. I didn’t think there was a single person that didn’t ship it. But then I started seeing fanart of ships like tododeku, shindeku, and bakudeku.

And my first reaction to finding out that people shipped my beautiful baby sunshine boi with the person who bullied him for years?????

HELLLLLLLLLLL NO

So with my (unknowingly) limited knowledge of their relationship, i was very much an anti (i never spoke out or anything, i just reallyyyy didn’t like the ship lol)

(And then, you know, I started to see all the bkdk hate online and kinda went “okay not touching that”)

But that began to change…

…after I saw a manga leak for the first time.

I was scrolling thru my feed and all of a sudden. BOOM!

I was like 😧

IS THAT IZUKU?????

And i looked in the comments and yes it was.

I checked out the page and found that they had an entire account of manga leaks and was so happy.

I quickly began to read from the very bottom of that account, and it started from right about where Izuku first began his vigilante arc (i had no idea how much was in between then and where I left off on the anime, but I was willing to read it lol)

And so I waited diligently for the leaks every week (a practice I have continued to uphold lol), until one day, i came across an untranslated series of panels from the latest chapter. I looked at it and it was of Katsuki and Izuku, facing each other in the rain (you know the one). I knew the leaks would be coming a day later, but I wanted to look through them anyways, so I did.

I didn’t understand a word they said, but the pictures and imagery of them as kids then middle schoolers then where they were now seemed so touching…

And then I came across a pair of kanji that I recognized.

I was like “wait WHAT???”

I zoomed in and went “that— isn’t that—? That’s part of Midoriya’s name, right???”

And then I was like “wait a second… omg that’s Izuku, isn’t it. That’s the freaking kanji for Izuku.”

And it was!!!!!

So inside I’m having a mini freakout cuz—

Bakugou just called him IZUKU

Fast forward to the next day, and I looked at the translated version, and found out that not only did he call him Izuku,

Freaking

APOLOGIZED

And I was like “huhhhhhhh”

What happened between now and the most recent anime episodes for this to occur???? For Bakugou to do a complete 180 and apologize????????

Well, I finally got my answers…

…when I started reading the manga.

I started from the beginning, cuz I wanted to see Horikoshi’s art style and the extra drawings and all the other stuff…

And when I tell you that Katsuki became a whole new character to me—

First, I read everything about early-on Bakugou— without hearing him yell in his dub voice—and realized “oh wow he really is just a kid with issues and a worldview that he’s now having to change.”

Then, I finally read what happened in that space between moving into the dorms and the beginning of season four (most importantly, DvK2).

Cried.

Then, oh then, I got up to where season five ended and the rest of the manga began.

. . .

Funny thing: back when I read the leaks to ch322, I remember thinking to myself, “huh. what did Bakugou mean by Shigaraki making swiss cheese outta him?”

😦

THE WAY I GASPED

AND THEN CRIED

OH MY FREAKING GOD

That was the moment where i truly ceased to hate Katsuki cuz holy character development batman

Then, of course, we see them in recovery

And then the vigilante arc and apology scene *sobs*

And then I was caught up.

(Btw I finished the entire manga up ‘til ch334 in just over a week. I read for nine days straight. During the school year. My emotions were all over the place goodness gracious I could barely concentrate.)

So that’s how I went from being a Bakugou hater to going “you know what he’s a complex character and he’s slowly becoming a better person” and realizing that he was now one of my fav characters and therefore cursed to die but I’ll talk about that later

Was I now a bakudeku shipper?

Hah nope.

I began my dive into the true essence of any fandom: fanfiction.

Over the course of winter break, I had started off with fics that had no romantic pairing (I just wanted to see my boi Izuku), but then somehow stumbled across Mastermind: Strategist for Hire and then read the entirety of the For Want of a Nail series (shoutout to Clouds btw ❤️) cuz I was like “ok whew no bkdk fics” which was my mindset at the time.

But somehow (I can’t even remember how I found it) I came across a bkdk fic. It was called For Want of Izuku’s Toe Joint by Talavin (okay now that I think about it there’s probably a simple explanation lol).

I don’t quite know what compelled me to start reading it, but I did.

And I really liked it.

But not in the “I’ve been converted” kinda way.

It was like an “I shouldn’t be enjoying this why am I enjoying this?” kinda feeling. Like my head says no but my heart says yeah.

A really really really really guilty pleasure.

So, from that day on, whenever I came across any form of bkdk media, I would simultaneously feel discomfort and yet an odd sense of satisfaction.

Also me: *stares at it for like five minutes straight*

We’ve gotten to the point in the manga where the final arc is underway and Bakugou is about to KICK SOME BUTT

He’s revealed his Panser Strafe support item and I’m gushing about it to my friend (she kinda fell out of the fandom but still tolerated my rants bless her)

Oh, side note: it was then that I also expressed my concern for Bakugou’s “alive” status

Utterly gobsmacked. Cried. Disbelief. Horrified. Confusion. Anger. Went through the five stages of grief and then some.

Sometimes I hate being right 🥲

But the good thing that came from this was that my positive view of Katsuki only grew after seeing his utter faith in Izuku (and his thoughts being on him in his final moments???? 🥺🥺🥺)

And it was at this point in time where I could admit to myself “you know what? i see it. i see the appeal. i wouldn’t mind this actually becoming canon.”

Did I think that it would actually become canon?? No.

Everything was downhill from here folks.

In the best possible way.

I came across some analyses of what was going on with togachako, and consequently led me to some bakudeku analyses. I read them and my goodness they made so much sense.

Like not even just personality-wise!! Those metas brought in actual things Horikoshi said about wanting to go outside the norms of shounen (and about not liking the Naruto ending 💀), and compared bkdk to tropes in different works of fiction, and even discussed how bkdk made sense narratively. They properly convinced me of the ship.

And then for good measure, I reread the manga in its entirety thru a bkdk filter, and lo and behold things took on new meanings and my eyes were opened.

I totally and irrevocably shipped them! And I actually thought they had a chance at being canon!!

(And then I binged so much bkdk fanfiction omg you wouldn’t BELIEVE like I read the ones with the highest kudos first and then just picked the biggest collections I could find and read down the line

It was like being on drugs like each fic gave me more dopamine than the last I was so happy oh my god)

And then finally, the day came.

The answer to “is bakugou alive yet?” became a yes.

We screamed. We cried. We jumped for joy. We told bakugou antis to suck it. But most of all, our bkdk hearts soared to see our boys make eye contact with each other for the first time in over a year 🥹

And from that moment on, I truly began to believe that bkdk would indeed become canon.

Controversial take: People's hatred for Mew is related to their attachment to real life ship which takes the fun out of Only Friends (at least on their end)

This is going to be my random thoughts and I had a couple of shots of gin and tonic while writing this so excuse me. I am gonna mix up the real-life and fictional scenarios so sue me, I guess.

Before anything else, I like ForceBook a lot but I can understand if TopMew will not end up together. For the most part, I see Top as a person I can never like in real life and you cannot blame me if he just gives me bad vibes.

However, I want to know more about him and how their story unfolds. I actually want TopMew to pull a 188 Men's Group wife-chasing crematorium trope (look it up) or an ending like Cruel Intentions.

In addition, even if I will be proven wrong soon, I will still defend Mew. He is just complex and reminds me of myself. Someone who just wants to graduate with flying colors in an Asian society (SEA to be exact) then came along Boston pestering him about his virginity.

Now you know my biases, let's get to the real reason why I used the said title.

People are hating Mew for cock-blocking Ray and Sand. Calling him names and anything but never Ray. Never Ray. I am actually glad that happened because at least Sand knows that Ray is still hung up on Mew—even if some viewers will say that it is not love but more of the idea that he loves Mew. Again, Ray is still hung up on Mew (or has lingering feelings) and I am glad he stopped what they are doing. At least Sand had a heads-up, a warning that he is just a rebound.

If we go back from last week, people hate Mew for ditching Ray and P'Jojo had to explain that Boston and Syrup forced him to go home with Top. You will not see people making threads gaining hundreds of likes of how Boston is a bad friend for Ray—it is always Mew that is the face of betrayal. Never Boston because he is not a threat. Or Neo. Or Mark. Unless Nick hooks up with Sand. Lol.

This leads me to the conclusion that some of the viewer's hatred for Mew (or Book) stems from how he intervenes with the existing ship. People nitpick everything he does. Some shippers feel threatened about his existence—may it be in the series or real life. His ghost ship with Khao (or Ray with Mew) annoys the hell out of people. In some clips with Khao and Book sailing RayMew, fans are saying First is jealous and Khao should pay attention to him. This is somehow converted to how people pity Sand even more and dislike Mew in the series. Ray can be an alcoholic and Mew saves his ass multiple times but Ray can never do wrong. Even if he wants to drive while drunk. Never Ray because Ray is Khaotung. LOL.

Some are also saying that only Ray cared for his friend group when in the very first episode, the first cut at that, Mew is picking up Ray's drunk ass. Hell, he even reprimanded him (R) for picking fights while drunk. Now, people are saying that Ray should have continued the deed with Sand instead of taking care of his friend who does not care about him. That or people throwing a pity party for Ray by being a true friend when it was implied that Mew is always the table keeper, taking care of his drunk ass and it did not happen only once.

I know some of you are raising your eyebrows right now but I mean, everyone just tends to nitpick about Mew. Or Book. Before, I had seen people calling him bland and boring. Like a cardboard without personality. People are like: How the hell Ray even like him? Now that he is showing his true colors, people are calling him scheming and manipulative.

When Mew did not let Top go further from his advancements, some are criticizing him for acting like a kid and virgin (he is btw). When Top did not pick up his calls, people are saying that he is evil and manipulative. That he deserves it. When Boston does something problematic, people will say he just have insecurities and unresolved daddy issues. When Nick installed that in the car, people will say that he is just in love and obsessed. When Ray wants to crash his car, it is because he has mommy issues. That they are just kids and needs guidance but Mew? Mew is hated for acting like a kid aka stopping Top when he realized he is not ready. That he deserves getting cheated on. That he is the most evil guy. Hell, even Top, according to viewers cannot be an assault victim because he is not played by an actor who is a crowd favorite.

See what I mean people? Like make up your minds. You love to psychoanalyze other character's personalities and why they are behaving but Mew (even Top) has no excuses. Heh.

In addition, people are questioning why Mew did not call Syrup or Boston. Bruh, Syrup cannot drive. Boston is yeah, Boston. Also, some viewers say that Ray does not really love Mew but is in love with the idea of him or because Mew cares for him. Some even theorized that he has an Oedipus Complex. Now tell me, Mew does not care about Ray but the reason why Ray is still hung up on Mew is because he is caring? Make it make sense, please.

Some viewers will disagree with me, especially those who have a strong attachment to their own ship, but I wonder if they are still having fun going through hoops and hoops and throwing pity parties over characters? I, for real will still defend Mew but I acknowledge that he is gray. I wonder if they will combust if we get a RayMew kiss in the next episode? I wonder how they feel seeing everyone in the Only Friends casts are friendly with each other?

Anyway, I just said what I said.

If your hatred for a character is unreasonable and you see him as a threat (esp in real life). I think you need to reevaluate and ask yourself why. Or maybe you just need a Sand, a shrink. Either way, everyone in OF needs therapy.

Cheers to people who consume this drama for pure bliss and whatnot. The not-too-invested crowd with real ships. The messy crowd.

If the show is not for you and you want chummy cutesy BLs, you can save yourself, honey. This is Jojo we are talking about. If you think that you have the right to watch despite nitpicking everything (I mean we all have the freedom), okay. Please feel free to do so.

And even though I've been entertaining the idea for quite some time, I can't seem to find enough proof for it to be classified a proper theory. Like I've said, it may be purely coincidental, but given the fact it is part of Joyce's 'birthday monologue' (something I feel will be relevant to Will's storyline in season 5) I can't help but find it curious how Joyce ends up using the memory of Will's 8th birthday.

Let's assume the writers really did have their reasons for choosing that age. It might be time to remind ourselves that Will was born in 1971 ...

... which means he turned eight in 1979.

... aka the year Jane unintentionally opens the very first gate and Henry discovers the Upside Down (which had been nothing but some yellow coloured wasteland at that point) as well as those particles he uses to form the Mind Flayer.

The case is an odd one this time, i lost track a bit at the beginning but I’m under the impression that the doctor murdered his daughter? Or something? People are much more taken over by the happenings in protocol I’ve come to realise. But I spose if I were becoming a tree I’d accept it over panicking more. Wonderful body horror once again, reminded me of In A Week By Hozier. I hope the note takers of the fandom are taking note of all theses names and numbers, I’m sure they’ll be important.

I hope Alice is okay, I’m worried already that something is going on with her. It felt like she had something going on in todays episode. Even with Colin at the beginning. Are they a ship btw? I think they’d be cute.

I did start to wonder if the department was like the police section last time. A governmental recognition of the forces at play but unspoken to the point where even the workers don’t truly know what’s going on. Or if there’s a trickery to it like Elias did. I wonder if Alice knows or at least suspects more than she lets on.

I feel a bit bad, I haven’t got as much to say for this ep. I might start linking my reviews to eachother, for the ease of the one or two ppl who actually read them (I love you dearly, kisses on the forehead for you)

But then I did, and had fun with it just like the other two seasons, and I remembered that Twitter gets high-strung about things that don't matter so much, and that giving it sway over how much I enjoy things is silly lol.

Yes, I think the last season could've been paced differently so it wasn't 5 episodes of the same Final Boss Fight. Yes, I think the writing switches jarringly between gearing for a young new audience and for a seasoned old one. Yes, I think the 2D flashbacks look and move worse than what fans constantly make for free. Yes, I think the final episode doesn't do nearly as much housekeeping as it should (does the Shatterverse still exist or not??). Yes, I think declaring the show is canon to the games or whatever they said probably wasn't the best idea. And yes, I think Black Rose should've had a shoulder-parrot!Birdie to match the other Amys. All valid critiques! All sensible things to think when you've been around the Sonic bush!

But I swear to god, people on Twitter act like these things spoil the whole package. Where's the nuance? Why does every opinion there become an absolute worth tearing others down for? Is it the character limit? I bet it's the character limit.

There's so much I love about this show that were infeasible for the Sonic brand just 3-4 years ago. Externalizing the characters' facets to explore them in-depth. Said exploration spanning multiple episodes instead of being one-and-done. The sheer amount of genuine Sonadow food (and I don't actively do shipping, so me adding it here should hold a lot of weight). The snappy, playful, yet blistering fight scenes that, dare I say, feel like a successful TV-budget Spider-Verse. It was all so much fun!

But I guess stuff like Green Hill being the gang's "home" is a big deal-breaker?? Like?? I thought that was silly too, but not worth ratio'ing people with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse over? Get well soon, I guess??

Rambling over, shout-out to the entire country of Canada for giving me the most fun I've had with a Sonic show since X! I'm gonna go figure out how to address all this as The End lol

Dasey:

when I started shipping it if I did: Oh, boy. That's a question, now isn't it? I low-key shipped them when I first found Dasey fanfiction waaaaaaay back in my undergrad (so, like 10-12 years ago?). But it was super low-key. I got BACK into Dasey majorly in the spring of 2021 and stumbled upon fanvids and fanfiction of them AGAIN and because I was laid up health-wise, I got obsessed.

my thoughts: I have a LOT of thoughts about Dasey???? I think they're fascinating characters and I adore them both as individuals and as a couple. I think their physical comedy (and by that I mean they're complete lack of personal space) is hilarious; and I think they have insane chemistry. I think Derek knows Casey better than anyone, and Casey gets Derek better than anyone; and I think they're both stupid and stubborn enough to never acknowledge that. I think they're far more alike than they are different, and I think I need to continue my rewatch of the show because I'm gonna end up writing an essay about them.

What makes me happy about them: I think it's how good of a team they can be. I've always been a BIG friends-to-lovers shipper, but even more than that, a "we're partners and i've got your back" shipper. And even though Derek and Casey TRY to pretend to they hate each other, we have sooooo much evidence of them being protective of the other, of them going out of their way to help the other (usually complaining the whole time, but c'mon), and of them kicking serious butt when they do work together. It just makes something inside me purr.

What makes me sad about them: THEY'RE KIDS IN AN AWFUL SITUATION and they don't FEEL like family, but everything in their lives are telling them they're supposed to be; but they CAN'T be, and if they TRY to be together, they might hurt their FAMILIES who they LOVE so MUCH; and I think you catch my drift.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: ...I really hate OOC-ness, but the MOST OOC-ness I hate is when people make Derek to be, like, abusive? Or completely inconsiderate of Casey's boundaries, and you get into non-con. I just... Nope.

things I look for in fanfic: EXCELLENT CHARACTERIZATION. Good bantering, that push-and-pull that they both have... I also think they have at least mildly kinky sex, and I support this.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Well, all of Casey's boyfriends SUCK except for Sam who is an excellent person but not good for her. And I'm pretty sure her husband in LWL isn't doing a good job either. So they'd have to create a WHOLE NEW CHARACTER for her--

I don't mind Derek/Sally, except I think they'd have to work things out as adults better. I dunno; the show purposely shows us that Derek and Casey are far more important to each other than any of their significant others (that's been stated by the creators, btw), so yeah. No one.

My happily ever after for them: THEY GET TOGETHER AND THE FAMILY ACCEPTS THEM AND THEY STAY TOGETHER FOR, LIKE, 60+ YEARS AND BICKER AND BANTER AND LOVE EACH OTHER THE WHOLE TIME and whether or not they have kids depends completely on their choices and Derek calms Casey's panic attacks, and Casey reminds Derek of his worth, and I cry.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: THEY. SWITCH. I think most of the time Derek is the big spoon because he's kinda sexist, no lie, but I think when he's having a bad day, he likes getting spooned. Casey likes being held, but she also likes holding him. So, uh... 80% of the time Derek is the big spoon.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Honestly, I think it's arguing. But in, like, a fun way? With bets and competition and teasing and flirting; I strongly believe that they would just have a lot of small arguments and that would keep the big fights small too. And Casey likes debating and Derek likes challenges.

How I feel about this character: MY BLORBO???? I LOVE HIM??? HE'S SUCH A LITTLE SHIT; I ADORE HIM???

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Well. Casey, obviously. And to a certain extent, Sally.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: ...Derek&Lizzie. I know, I KNOW that Derek & Marti are like, gold, but I think his interactions with Lizzie are superb.

My unpopular opinion about this character: ...do I have one? I dunno. I have a lot of opinions about his relationship with his parents, but I wouldn't call them unpopular, more... me looking at things differently than some others do.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish, in LWL, people (Genora) recognized how much he had grown. Just because a person likes to have fun and tease and passes off some of his responsibilities to people he knows will do them (see: Skyler and Casey, but they also ENJOY doing these tasks most of the time), doesn't make him immature. He was SUCH a good dad and was taking steps to improve Skyler's life, and maybe their lives weren't traditional, but she was healthy and loved and appreciated and he had raised her as best he could; and honestly, his relationship with Skyler was much better than his with George, I'm just saying. Derek is clever with a large heart, and I wish people in the show saw that more.

my cross over ship: I don't like crossovers? *shrugs*

a headcanon fact: Derek is a dork. He's a big ol' dork. I HC that he knows an awful lot about very certain things because he gets hyperfixated -- reword: Derek has undiagnosed ADHD. There. That's my fact.

Anon, he fits the role of an Ace Attorney Prosecutor PERFECTLY, and he would be SUCH AN ANNOYING BITCH TO PLAY AGAISNT LOL We love Ace Attorney very much, so we also joke about Riddle being a prosecutor from time to time. I have at least one sketch related to this topic but we posted it on ko-fi.

Our go-to is usually to give Ace the Attorney role, not only because of his name, but also because him being confrontational with Riddle is always a fun thing to imagine.

Imagine Riddle’s angry sprites as a prosecutor… he’s even worse than some of the Von Karmas… at least he doesn’t use a whip I guess lol

They’re intriguing! It’s always interesting when someone who isn’t Malleus gets Sebek’s kind-of-sort-of-approval (a very important achievement I know), and Jamil somehow managed to do it. Maybe it’s because he managed to sit through Sebek’s hours-long rant about Malleus’ grateness in that one vignette, but it honestly shows just how interestingly their personalities play based off each other. Jamil is constantly done with everyone’s bs, but he’s unfrotunately tolerant enough to take a passive role and listen. But he is also enough of a tease to enjoy Sebek’s “cute” and silly moments, like when he watched him almost fight a goat during the Glorious Masquerade event. So I feel like to him Sebek would be a massive pain in the ass (and let’s be honest, with Jamil – who isn’t?), but also have his surprisingly endearing moments.

But this is based on their interactions in the Glorious Masquerade event + that one vignette in which Jamil promised to listen to Sebek’s odes for Malleus lol

Ok I've heard this "nuance" thing too many times now. So we can't judge people based on their body language or any other interactions coz even if they might seem like platonic to us k jikkrs are aware of that coupley way of talking that even korean non shippers aren't aware of? There are many korean tkkrs. Are they not aware of this specific nuanced way that korean couples talk?

The very clear difference between tkk and jikk was in that bb. Jk wasn't aware that jm hadn't shaved his hair yet. A couple should be aware of these things right? Also whenever we see them gather in the solo era, jk and tae are the only ones who don't greet each other like the rest of them do as if they are meeting after some amount of time. Jikkrs have used this k jikkr thing for forever. Also, this list is about fanfics. And I am actually not surprised that jikk is at top. TOH Actor Au

So, this is an Au idea that I’ve had for a while now where everyone in Toh are just actors playing a part. 

The ships are Lumity, Rieda, Goldric, Vinera, Skarlow, Gustholomule, Veesha, and Darius x Alador.

I like to think that Amity, Edric and Emira are actually sibling and that Edric and Emira are actual twins(or maybe Emira is actually a year older than Edric, but they look so similar to each other that they pass for twins). I also like to think that Odalia is their actual mom however Odalia is a way better mom to the twins and Amity than her acting counterpart. Also, Odalia and the twins all have brown hair like Amity, but they had their hairs dyed, along with Amity.

Personally, I imagine that Alador isn’t their biological father and is just a really good family friend along with Darius (who is his actual husband), so the kids see them as a second family to them due to how long they’ve known them. Though the girl who plays younger Amity is actually Alador’s daughter who Odalia does babysit from time to time. 

Amity goes to school with Luz, Willow, Skara and Boscha. She is actually friends with all of them along with Hunter, Gus, Matt, Viney and Bria. 

Willow and Amity are also next-door neighbors. Btw Younger Willow is actually Willow’s cousin, but some people have mistaken her from being Willow’s sister because of how alike they look. Also, the scene where younger Willow in the mindscape runs into something on accident was not in script but it was so cute that the directors had to put it in the final cut.

Raine and Eda are actually married, and Eda actually has a prosthetic hand that is the one that got dislocated when she was first interduce and is the same hand that she lost during the Day of Unity episode.

Luz and Vee are siblings, twins in fact which is why when Vee was interduce, she looked so much like Luz and that her new hair is a wing. Hunter is their adopted older brother. I like to think that if there is a scene where Camila(who is Luz’s and Vee’s biological mom while she’s Hunter’s adopted mom) is adopting Hunter as a part of their family onset, they would be all crying because that scene would remind their family of when Hunter actually got adopted into the family off screen. I like to think that Luz and Amity started having crushes on each other while they were acting with each other so the week before the Lumity confession scene, Luz had asked Amity to be her girlfriend and Amity had said yes. The younger Luzs in the video aren’t related to Luz at all but you would mistake them for being her sisters if you saw them standing beside her. 

Vee, Masha, and the other friends that her character makes while at camp are all friends, even though they all go to different schools. Vee has a massive crush on Masha, but the other hasn’t caught on to Vee’s feelings yet but their other two friends have.

Hunter was homeschooled for his middle school years but started goes to high school during his freshmen year with Edric and Emira. Viney goes to a different school, but she hangs out with them all the time. Emira and Viney tease Hunter and Edric for their very obvious crush on each other. 

Viney and Jimbo are childhood friends and go to the same school. They get mistaken for siblings all the time, but they don’t mind as they’ve pretty much accepted each other as siblings since they’ve been friends for so long. Jimbo helped Viney confess her feelings to Emira offset. He also is friends with Skara and is her go-to person when she needs someone to talk to about her crush on Willow.

Matt and Steve are half-siblings and, unlike my headcanon, have a good relationship with their mom and dad(well stepdad in Steve’s case but Steve treats him like he is his biological father). Bria is their stepsister but she’s actually nicer to Matt than she is onset, even if she does have a habit of bossing him around due to being older than him. They’re also next-door neighbors with Gus and his dad who plays as Parry. Also, Matt and Gus go to the same middle school together and both have a crush on each other, but they haven’t said anything to each other yet. Onset Matt seems like a huge gremlin but outside of set, he’s actually really nice, though he is a little snippy at times. 

Also, you know how people have been saying that Matt and Hunter would hate each other if they were to meet? Well, I think it would be really funny if while Matt and Hunter’s acting counterparts seem like they would hate each other if they were to ever meet each other but in reality, they are actually friends who are both very snarky towards each other. Same with Willow and Boscha, where their acting counterparts seem to hate each other or dislike each other but outside of acting, they are actually really good friends who roast each other all the time. There would probably be so many deleted scenes where Willow is roasting Boscha after she says something mean.

It takes the makeup team hours to get Boscha ready due to her needing a colored wig, different colored skin tone, and a third eye prostatic on her forehead.

Hunter and Willow actually don’t have crushes on each other. However, Hunter is able to make himself blush by thinking about his actually crush. (Willow knows who his crush is and helps him by teasing him about it too which also makes Hunter’s cheeks go red really quick.)

Philip aka Belos is actually way nicer than his acting counterpart and the kid who plays the Collector is actually his nephew. Philip and Odalia will actually talk to the kids about not doing or saying any of the dumb or dangerous stuff that any of the characters do or say.

He was supposedly the “god” of the island up above. Well, of course until the pirates came along. She was still very intimidated by his power but..she couldn’t help but feel curious you could say?

He did actually have the powers of a god..everyone saw it..except for Zoro since he well..did not believe in him. She couldn’t even help but feel a bit proud of herself when she thought of his electrical powers.

Over the pass two years she had gotten extremely powerful with her lighting. Usopp had even made her a new weapon that was new and improved! Not mention she had gotten Zeus on Whole Cake Island.Though during Wano she learned how to combine their electricity into one and create a very power shock. Her crew mates have only gotten more powerful as well..

She couldn’t help but wonder..

“Are we match for him now..?” She muttered under her breath. Accidentally speaking her thoughts out loud.

“A match for who now miss navigator?”

A voice says. The voice was smooth, almost calming,feminine and hypnotizing…Robin!

The red head blinked turning her head to the voice and indeed it was Nico Robin. The girl flushed in embarrassment before giving a soft smile as she stood up from leaning on the railing. Her hair fell perfectly from the sitting position as she smiled. “Well..”

“If you really wanna know I was thinking about that Enel guy fro the skypia trip..” she said looking into the woman’s deep blue eyes. She blinked and then smiled softly at her putting her face in her hand gracefully as a smile spread across her face.

“Oh? Enel? The god of skypia? Yes…I remember now..why were you thinking of him now? It’s been two years..or are you having certain thoughts miss navigator~?” She spoke smoothly as a smirk spread on her lips. Clearing teasing her.

The girls faced instantly turned red, blinking multiple times and gasping lightly comically. “W-what?!- no!! He’s so not my type and isn’t he on the moon now?! I-” the black haired woman suddenly laughed, Covering her mouth with her delicate hand to suppress her giggles.

“Fufufu~..calm down Nami I was just teasing…but why were think of him?” She asks, her voice smooth as honey as she walks over to beside her still with that calm smile of hers.

Nami calmed down, chuckling slight at the little joke. She just shook her head as she leaned back on the railing her brown chocolate eyes locking with deep blue sea ones. “Well I guess his power just reminded me of my clima-tact..since you know I use lightning and so does he…”

She said, her voice staying steady. The orange haired woman crossed her arms over her chest looking over at the tall beautiful woman standing before her who was still smiling at her calmly. “Oh?..well I see that makes sense..but are you sure that’s all miss navigator?~…”

Robin asked still teasing quite a bit but half of tone was a bit serious. The wind then blew again flowing through both of the women in the strawhats pirate crew hair. Black mixed with orange. However Nami did not have any time to think or respond before bolt of lightning struck down to the sea.

The ship shook almost violently as the whatever was in the lightning bolt that struck the sea was heavy. Though it was nothing that the straw hats could not handle, Nami and Robin were currently wide-eyed being the ones with best view out on deck and towards the railing. Everyone was now paying attention to the thing that just struck from the sky.

“Woah!! What the heck is that?!?!” Luffy shouted from above the ship with a piece of meat in his mouth. He had all said what everyone was thinking on that boat. They did certainly not think that they would see Enel on a the airship, well once a airship. It seemed the ship had been altered to travel on sea with the wheels taken off and everything.

There low and behold, Enel walked out from the smoke with that lazy smirk of his. Nami’s eyes had widened until they competed with donner plates. ‘How on earth was he here?! How on earth was he here?!….did that happen I was thinking about him earlier..?’

He was walking close to where he could see the ship clearly the smoke from his lightning bolt he now stood clearly visible to the pirates. Nami and him locked eyes for one moment and just for a moment she tried to study him to see what were his motives but he quickly look away just when she was going to dive deeper.

Everyone but Franky and Brook seemed to recognize him immediately drawing out their weapons, they stood guard. The god only laughed and shook his head it seemed. “Does he recognize us to..?” Nami muttered. Franky and Brook seemed utterly confused as to why everyone drew their weapons out almost all at once.

“Mortals, there is no need to fight! For what reason do we have? Let us all befriend each other and-”

“Why would we trust you?…how can we know that you won’t electrocute us as soon as we let our guard down?!” Nami then said. Age herself was surprised by her own words not expecting herself to even say that. Robin blinked as well glancing at her in surprise but still keeping her guard up.

Enel’s expression did not change at all his calm and sly smile remained ever so softly now looking at Nami his smirk widening even more. This made Nami feel uncomfortable but somehow…at ease?

“Oh? You won’t even trust or forgive a god?~” he said almost slowly. He then let out a big laugh shaking his head playfully. “You mortals are just like how I remember…bold..” he said with that same sly smirk. “But trust me I have no bad intentions whatsoever…I do not even need too what would I have to gain?” He said looking around at the pirates then his eyes landing on the captain of our beloved straw hat crew, Luffy.

Luffy seemed to think about it for only ten second before putting on his classic grin. “Okay! If you feel sorry about it then all is forgiven haha!!” He laughed putting his hands on his hips with a grin that was as wide as a grin could be.

His nakama paused for a moment going silent and blank.

They all yelled in unison their jaws dropping, staring at their captain with wide eyes utterly shocked. Sanji, Zoro,Usopp and Nami were hitting luffy on the head calling him an idiot as why he wound forgive him so easily and the rest of his crew were just shaking their head sighing softly. That was their captain after all..

~twenty five minutes later~

The sun has now started to set completely and the crew and the so proclaimed god were in the Thousand Sunny, drinking and talking. They all were partying to celebrate the so seemed truce the with the devil fruit user. Nami however was still watching the sunset not very nervous but not very sure of this truce.

Looking behind her she saw him talking with Luffy, Zoro, Franky and Brook the skeleton and cyborg seemed amazed and very interesting about the adventure of Skypia the rest of the crew had. Enel then suddenly made eye contact with Nami which she immediately avoided as she looked away, her cheeks flushing in embarrassment but no one seemed to pay any mind to it.

Suddenly, a unexpected visit from the Marines came three battle ships had spotted the straw hats. Of course taking charge in attacking the pirates.

They all had started to battle of course. Nami who was definitely not in the mood for this got her Clima-Tact and attacked the marines with her latest attack by combining her and Zeus’s lightning, this being able to take out a few hundred marines in one go. This of course wasn’t new to her but for Enel it was VERY new.

After the battle Enel was still in shock at how much had grown with her power so much that he fell his heart start to swell up and skip a beat…he even questioned if he was using his own electricity to make it beat this fast…like how he used it to pump his heart back skypia.

Now not being able to resist his swooning electrical gear he started to gush hopelessly.

After everyone had settled and started to act normal again he pulled Nami to the side rather easily with his strength in front of everyone to confess to his new found goddess, his eyes turning into hearts with him taking her hand.

“Nami, my goddess..my world..seeing you out there with such power has made me fallen for you and your charms..I have no choice but to confess~…we would be a great pair you know…so would you do me the honor of being my goddess forever and rulling the world together?!” He said rather loudly in front everyone.

Almost everyone’s jaw dropped at this confession while the so called god stared down at Nami with a adoring look. The orange haired woman gasped in complete shock not expecting this AT ALL.

But before the the woman could even respond a storming blond who had seemed to be on fire (quite literally) stormed up to him with flames trailing behind him.

“HEY YOU BASTERD!! What the hell do you think your doing?! Asking out my Nami-San like that!!” The man with the swirly eyebrow yelled. Seeming completely furious as he raised his foot up in anger, clenching his cigarette between his teeth angrily. Engels eues narrowed as he turned the man in the suit returning the behavior.

“‘Your Nami?! What in Skypia is that supposed to mean mortal?! Last time I checked she was least interested in you!!” He said angrily, a flashe of electricity bolted between them as the two began to battle and argue it out comically while Nami was too stunned to speak.

The rest of crew seemed to sweat drop still taken at back but not surprised by Sanjis behavior so to say. Luffy even laughed out loud, while Robin was giggling and continued to tease the life out of Nami. This made the orange haired woman blush furiously from the embarrassing display.

This was causing Enel to be amused with his so said love. He pushed Sanji out of the way and walked over her eagerly. “What’s wrong my goddess?~ has my love shocked you?~ you’re turning red my dear…” he said as he tried to make a attempt to cup her cheek. This caused Nami’s eyes to widen. Not even thinking, she ran away screaming practically with a red face. Her long orange hair flowed while she did so.

Enel, who took this as a cute little game of chase summoned his ball of lighting and began to follow and chase her quickly. With that same sly and lazy smirk of his. Leaving hearts of electricity behind him. Sanji even tagged along, declaring his love for the woman and running after the two as he was adamant to save her.

Nami isn’t going escape his electrical love anytime soon it seems…

BTS just isn't fun anymore for me rn. There's just this tension surrounding everything. And not just with shipping. It's fandom wide blatant favoritism. Tae doing whatever it is that he's doing (bless his heart chile). Namjoon seems to be a mess rn, I wanna give him a hug, he speaks like life is kicking his ass. BPP your asks about that RM - FACE credits controversy from Pjms reminded me of one debate I saw btw flat earthers and scientists. It's the most fascinating thing I've ever seen. The part that made me think of you is how flatearthers called the scientists uneducated, said they did their own calculations and made their own observations to arrive at fringe theories that disputed the wider consensus. I found it so strange how both scientists and flat earthers could observe the same thing but reach widely different conclusions. I know you've been going over and over with solos for some months so I hope this can make you laugh a bit BPP.

Lol, Anons in asks 1 through 4, why are you letting your minds torment you over things that should be obvious? Anon in ask 5, you sent me that ask last week, but it feels apt to post it now given the sort of asks I've gotten in the last few hours.

How many times can we go over the sort of conspiratorial thinking that plagues people who eventually become akgaes, thought patterns that have been shown several times this year to be completely misguided? If the only conclusion you can reach after everything we've seen in the last 10 months, after seeing Jikook, Taekook, Yoonmin, Vmin, and Yoonkook's conversations recently, is that 'someone' must be trying to pull a fast one on you, then maybe you should take a step back.

Honestly, in my opinion, you all fit the profile of people who should engage with k-pop very sparingly. Most times, I've observed these sort of views (also in the case of flat-earthers) are caused by gaps in foundational knowledge about the subject coupled with personal implicit biases. I see this happen all the time, and it's unfortunately the sorts of people who think like this who only get further sucked in, to the point they lose any semblance of a reference point. If you're still at the point you're asking these questions, especially Anon in ask 1, 2 and 3, there's still a chance. I'd suggest a clean break, a detox period, and very limited exposure going forward but starting from scratch and actually watching official content from the early years. A lot of people who joined the fandom post-2020 have only seen compilations and selected clips of BTS's formative years, and so they lack the background to better interpret everything that's happening in Chapter 2 - from why HYBE wouldn't respond to akgaes whining about cakes by posting it right away, to how vminkook have behaved throughout Chapter 2.

With flat earthers it's funny because in a bid to be skeptical, to 'question everything' so they aren't "played as a fool", they end up becoming just that. For most other people there's no joke, but for them the joke is always on them.

Thanks for the video, Anon in ask 5. But rather than make me laugh, it did the opposite. The conclusion of the video is that no flat-earther, not one, changed their minds after debating with the scientists. I had a theory that the people who end up as akgaes were always going to be that regardless of any arguments that run contrary to their beliefs, because at the heart of it, it's not about the arguments but about them. But I hoped I could be wrong. Extrapolating the conclusion of this video to my theory, the suggested implication is bleak as hell.
