Chapter 8 - Little Brother

Warnings: cursing, a bit of angst, lovesick George

Summary: George confesses his true feelings

Start here:

"I do trust you to make your own decisions, George." Fred sat down beside his twin. "I just didn't believe either of you had considered the future. I was wrong."

"Of course I considered the future, Freddie. It terrifies me. Why do you think I denied my feelings?"

"Yeah, I know, I should've realized that before now." Fred admitted. "I also know there's no turning back at this point. You're set on Y/N."

"I love her. Y/N's the one. She gets me in a way no one else ever has, except for you, of course." George gave his brother a sheepish grin. "When I showed her my darkest parts, she stayed when others have left me over far less. I'm someone special to her. She reminds me of that everyday. For that alone, she owns my heart. Now and forever, it’s her or no one at all."

Fred elbowed his brother, grinning. "You're such a poor, lovesick sap. You should do something about that."

"Yeah, I really should.” George chuckled.

Fred stood up, stretching. "So, what's your plan?"

"I'm gonna tell her I love her."

"When?"

"Soon. Tonight, maybe. Or maybe at the Yule Ball."

"Why wait? Why not now?"

"Now? You mean right now?"

“The sooner, the better. Have you forgotten she’s still single? You know as well as I do you’re not the only one who wants her, here or at Ilvermorny. But you are the only one who loves her. Tell her before someone else tries to take your place.” Fred turned and headed toward the door.

"Where are you going?" George asked.

"Romance is in the air. It's the perfect time to work my irresistible charms on the lovely Angelina," the older twin said, stopping to check his hair in the mirror. "And the perfect time for you to work yours on Y/N. When I saw her earlier, she was in the library. I suspect she's still there. If you go tell her now, then you can snog her in the common room all night." Fred winked and was gone.

For a while after his twin sauntered away, George stared out the window, his heart racing. He knew Fred was right. There were others waiting in the wings for him to fuck up, so they could swoop down and sweep Y/N off her feet. He'd seen their leering gazes, heard their lewd comments. George could name every single one of the bastards and he loathed them all. Just the thought of any of them in her arms made him want to knock the smug grins off all their stupid, fucking faces. That was his place and his place alone.

Before he could second guess himself, George sprinted out of Griffindor Tower. His pace increasing until he was running down the stairs, skipping two or three at a time, almost slamming into Ginny as she was coming up.

"Is Y/N in the library?" He panted, trying to catch his breath.

"That's the second time I've been asked that today." She folded her arms, smirking, but offered nothing more.

"Well?" George prodded when she didn't answer.

"Doubt it. She was heading outside when I saw her last."

"Thanks, sis." George kissed the top of her head before breaking into a full run.

"Hey!" Ginny yelled after him. "She's listening to her headphones. Don't scare the crap out of her by running up on her like a lunatic!"

"I won't!" He shouted back as he disappeared down the stairs.

George was racing full-tilt around the corner leading out to the courtyard, when he collided hard with someone, the crash all but knocking him off balance. Y/N yelped, her headphones flying off as she fell backwards, her feet slipping on the wet cobblestones.

George grabbed her arm, nearly going down with her. "Oh shit, Y/N. I'm so sorry. Are you ok?"

"I--uh--yeah. I think so," she said, rubbing her forehead. "You?"

"I'm good, a little winded," George gasped. He wrapped his arm around her waist, guiding her inside to the nearest bench. "Sure you're ok, love? You look a little pale," he asked, wiping her windswept hair from her face.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just stunned from the impact," Y/N said, before tilting her head up to look at him. "Why on earth were you running so fast?"

George rubbed the back of his neck. "I was looking for you."

"Me? Is everything ok?"

"Yeah. No. Well, maybe. I, uh, need to tell you something," he stuttered.

"Oh, um, ok." She gave him a wan smile. "Is here good or should we go elsewhere?"

George looked around. They were the only people in sight. "Here's fine," he nodded, fiddling with his fingers.

After a few moments, he took a deep, shaky breath, hoping it would prevent his words from rushing out in a babbling mess.

It didn’t.

"Ok, so, here goes. You’re the most amazing girl I've ever met. I can't believe you even exist, sitting here beside me. The first time we spoke, it was like we were old friends, picking up where we left off. I don't know how to explain that, I just know everything is so easy with you." He paused, enveloping her hands with his own." When we're together, I'm myself. I feel safe and accepted in ways I never thought possible. Everytime we cuddle, I get a glimpse of what heaven must be like. I never want to lose that. I never want to lose you. You're my other, other half. I love you, Y/N, and if you'll have me, I'll spend every second of every hour of every day until the end of time proving it to you."

He gave her hands a gentle squeeze, concluding his confession just seconds before a couple of students rounded the corner. George went silent as they passed, watching Y/N's face and wondering if she could hear his heart hammering in her ears as loud as he heard it in his own.

Time for me to talk about Owen Coleman. Lucy Weasley's best friend. They become friends at the age of 12 and never leave each other's side. Owen is the sun and Lucy is the moon. The golden retriever and black cat duo. Lucy's the youngest of all the Weasley cousins and she's happy to finally be the leader after following Fred and James around her whole life. Owen's just happy to follow, he's too nice not too. Lucy's more reckless and Owen's scared she'll go off the deep end one day. Owen likes it when she calls him Colly and Lucy likes it when he calls her Luce. Out of the two of them, Lucy should've died first. She doesn't. Owen Coleman dies at the age of 19 in a drunken duel. He dies protecting Lucy, pushing her out of the way of a curse. Owen Coleman is dead and Lucy Weasley will never be alright again.

The Love you Left Behind

George Weasley x OC

Hi guys! Please don’t hate me for this but I lost inspiration for this story, but wanted to share this. Maybe I’ll pick it back up but I always tend to write the end or the most heartbreaking parts first.

So I’m sorry for the pain you are about to experience. But on the bright side I am 10 chapters deep into writing a Fred Weasley story!

Warning: Major character Death, Blood, Gore

It took all of five seconds for Fred’s eyes to land on the Strawberry blonde that had been standing next to him prior to the wall exploding behind them.

“Gwen!” Fred screamed, stumbling in a pained run and dropping down by her side. Not worrying about the burning in his back or the blood that trickled down the side of his face. Gwen lay in the middle of the hall, surrounded by piles of rubble from where the wall exploded.

Gwen was panting heavily as she pressed her hands down on her lower chest. But it didn’t stop the dark red blood from bubbling between her fingers. Fred felt his face pale when he saw the jagged shard of rock peeking from between her fingers.

“Oh Merlin” Fred paled, quickly pulling Gwen up into his arms, but he only got her into a reclined position before she cried out in agony. Her fingers slipped on the slick blood-covered rock shard.

“Ow, O-Ow” Gwen muttered as tears began to gather on her waterline. Fred took a second to look at the piece of shard protruding from the girl's body. He needed to stop the bleeding, he looked around for his wand, only to see it broken in two a few feet away from him.

“I know. I know it hurts. But you're gonna be okay.” Fred did his best to reassure Gwen but the panic in his voice caused her adrenalin to fire up even more and the blood that was escaping from her chest suddenly began to leak out faster. Fred looked over at Percy who stood shell-shocked. His wide eyes locked on Gwen’s bleeding chest.

“Go get Help!” Fred yelled, Percy nodded his head in shock before running down the hall. Blasting any death eater in his way with a new determination.

Fred quickly and as gently as possible pulled Gwen to an alcove where they were hidden from sight. Trying to block out the sounds of Gwen’s cries of pain every time he shifted her torso.

“You're gonna be okay Gwen. You're gonna be okay. We are gonna get you help, okay.” Fred said more to himself than to the strawberry blonde.

Gwen looked up at Fred, wishing that his brother was in his place. George’s arms felt like home to her. But, she was also grateful that George wasn’t here, she could already feel herself slipping. She didn’t want George to see her like this.

Fred’s eyes darted up to the deserted hall trying to see if anyone was nearby, either to help or to defend himself and Gwen from. The explosion seemed to ward everyone away from the corridor. For now Fred could focus on Gwen, especially considering he didn’t have a way to defend either of them.

“Freddie,” Gwen whispered as her mouth filled with a metallic taste. When Fred didn’t look at her she reached up and touched his shoulder, blood smearing all over the once vibrant shirt, his eyes snapped back down to her and widened at the blood that coated her lips.

“I-I really l-love him. I-I really do. I really d-do love G-George.” Gwen muttered her eyes wide, like she had to make sure Fred knew. As if Fred didn’t know that the two were absolutely and sickeningly in love with each other.

“I know. I know. He loves you too. That’s why you have to hold on okay? Keep your eyes open, Gwen.” Fred said, placing his hand where Gwen previously had hers resting, pressing down around the rock. Trying to ignore how quickly blood coated them both. How fast the blood kept boiling to the surface and escaping through every minuscule gape. Her skin had become a shade of white so pale, it was almost translucent.

“Take care of him. H-he needs you.” Gwen whispered, feeling her head become light as it became increasingly hard to breathe, and with every inhale and exhale a sharp pain radiated through her chest and heart. But she tried to ignore it, holding on as long as she could.

“Gwen! Please stop talking like that! You can tell George yourself. Okay? You can tell him how much you love him when you see him next Because you are going to be okay.” Fred could feel tears sliding down his face, as he looked down at the girl who his twin loved so dearly. The girl who saved their collected asses on multiple occasions. The girl who spent hours helping them set up the business and perfect products. The girl who became his best friend. His sister.

He watched as her mouth opened like she was trying to talk, but suddenly her body arched in pain in his arms and shook. A sickening gurgle took the place of an to inhale like she was drowning. No Choking. She was choking her her own blood as it filled her mouth and lungs. Fred could now hear how her lungs rattled with each little puff of air that sounded watery coming from her pale, bloody lips.

How did it go so wrong so fast? They were standing right next to each other. The force of the blast had knocked him off his feet, but how did he get so far away? Then suddenly it dawned on Fred, and he had never felt more guilty in his life.

“You pushed me out of the way.” Fred muttered, looking down at Gwen, with horror shining in his eyes. Gwen gave a shaky nod of her head. Her eyes fluttered, Fred shook his arms making her head bounce against his shoulder. “Don’t you dear close your eyes, Gwen! Keep your eyes on me. You can’t leave me with George. The bloke’s a menace.” Fred attempted to joke but it came out weak and broken. Gwen’s eyes shot open and looked at Fred with glassy eyes, like she wasn’t really seeing him.

“Y-you! He n-needs y-you. B-e ok-okay with y-you.” Gwen gurgled brokenly. Her head lulled back onto Fred’s shoulder, all energy leaving her body. Fred could feel her heartbeat under his hands begin to slow and stutter.

“He needs you too.” Fred shook his head and looked out into the hall from the alcove. Percy had been gone for what felt like hours. Fred felt the tears begin to fall faster as he felt Gwen’s heart stutter again. He looked over at his broken wand, it was snapped in two, rendering it useless, but Gwen should still have hers. If he could just get it, he could do something, he was never good a healing spells but George was.

George. George who should be here. George should be holding Gwen, not him.

“I-I D-don’t w-wanna Die. I-I’m scared. It H-hurts.” Gwen choked out weakly. At her omission, Fred felt his heart sink and go into overdrive. His shaking hands pressed down harder on Gwen’s chest once again feeling her barely there heartbeat. He had to work fast. He could still save her if he could just get her wand.

“Gwen. Where is your wand? I need your wand.” Fred asked shaking Gwen back to alertness. But Gwen could only feel Panic fill her at the idea of being left alone. She didn’t want to die alone.

“No! P-please d-on’t le-leave me. Pl-please!” she choked weakly lifting her hand up to weakly grasp Fred’s arm. Her eyes shone with fear. Her chest rattled uncomfortably before she coughed as blood splattered down her chin and onto her throat.

“It’s okay. It’s okay! I’m not leaving you, but I need to get your wand. I need to do something to help. I need to send for help.” Fred soothed the girl leaning back slightly so that he had a clear view of her, if she had more injuries. He could now visibly see that her chest seemed to be sunk in like her lungs had begun to stick together. It was barely moving, it seemed as if more blood was on the ground around them, on them, than in her. If he could just stop the bleeding, Madam Pomfy could give her a blood-replenishing potion.

“P-please tell h-him, p-prom-ise.” Gwen gasped again, looking at Fred again with desperate eyes. Fred nodded his head as his chest racked with sobs and grief, at this point trembling so much he was shaking Gwen with every breath.

“I Promise.” At Fred’s acceptance, Gwen weakly nodded her head, satisfied. George would know, know that she loved him. Know that her last thoughts would be of him. And even though she was in pain, and scared, she felt it lessen slightly as his charming smile flashed into her mind. His whispers of sweet words, the way his arms wrapped our her and held her as if she was the most precious thing in the world. The smell of Smoke and Sage. George.

The thought of George gave her the last slight burst of energy she had and she used it to lift her hand and quietly muttered Accio. Her wand lifted and clattered onto the ground a foot away from them, and at the same moment, the air ran out of Gwen’s lungs. Freds, focused on retrieving the wand didn’t notice Gwen’s still chest as he leaned over and grabbed it. As soon as it was in his hand the voice of Voldemort filled his head, blurring all his senses as a sharp pain radiated from his head rendering him momentarily useless.

You have fought valiantly but in vain. I do not wish this. Every drop of Magical blood spill is a terrible waste. I therefore command my forces to retreat. In their absence dispose of your dead with dignity. Harry Potter, I now speak directly to you on this night you have allowed your friends to die for you rather than face me yourself. There is no greater dishonor. Join me in the Forbidden Forest and confront your fate. If you do not do this, I shall kill every last man, Woman, and Child who tries to conceal you from me.

When the voice faded Fred looked down at Gwen and felt part of his world crumble. “NO!” Fred let out a wail in agony. Gwen’s eyes were wide open, still reflecting the satisfaction of Fred’s promise he had given her before Voldemort began speaking.

Her chest was still, and her eyes glassy, and Fred could no longer feel her heart beating from under his hands. He suddenly slumped forward onto the still chest of his best friend and continued sobbing. He could hear feet pounding down the hall and raised Gwen’s wand in case he needed to protect himself. But as his eyes raised, he met Percy and his dad’s horror-filled faces. They took in the sight of the blood-covered floor and bodies, Fred’s hunched-over figure, and Gwen’s still body. They were too late. Mr. Weasley was the first to let a tear fall as he slowly walked over to his eldest twin and the girl he considered another daughter and placed his hand on Fred’s shoulder.

“She’s not hurting anymore son. Let me take her to the Great Hall.” Mr. Weasly whispered, going to pull Gwen’s body from Fred, but Fred latched on tighter and shook his head.

“No. She pushed me out of the way. It was supposed to be me. It’s my fault.” Fred cried looking up at his father. The look in his eyes, suddenly took Arthur back to when Fred would have vivid nightmares as a child. When he first would wake up his eyes were always full of fear, like he was still trapped in a nightmare. George, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley would always reassure him that the nightmare was over and he was safe. Mr. Weasley wished he could reassure Fred that this was a nightmare and that he was safe now. But he knew that it would have been a lie.

“Fred.” Mr. Weasley sighed, dropping onto his knees ignoring the feeling of blood soaking into the fabric and pulling his son into his chest as Fred sobbed. Mr. Weasley looked over to Percy who had tears running down his face as he stared at the body of Gwendolyn Jones.

“I was only gone for five minutes” Percy whispered into the hall, staggering back to lean on the wall across from the three on the floor.

“George bought a ring. Before we went into hiding. He was going to marry her.” Fred whispered brokenly, Mr. Weasley felt his heart stutter in his chest. His eyes glanced over to the girl who stared emptily at the ceiling. He let go of Fred and reached over to Gwen, shutting her green eyes for the last time and going to pull Fred’s hands from her to carry her body to the Great Hall.

“No. No! I’ll take her. I promised her. I promised I wouldn’t leave her.” Fred cried, as he pulled Gwen closer to his chest and shakily stood to his feet. Mr. Weasley and Percy looked at each other with tear-filled eyes and moved to be next to Fred. Supporting him as he took the first step in the direction of the Great Hall.

On the other side of the castle, George had just walked into the Great Hall rubbing his lower chest with a pained expression. Molly quickly saw her youngest twin and ran to him.

“Are you okay? Are you hurt?” Molly fussed, running her hands over his arms and chest, looking for any injuries but found none besides a scratch or bruise.

“I’m fine Mum. Is Freddie or Gwen here?” George asked, using his height to scan over the crowd looking for his two favorite people, but they weren’t anywhere to be seen. People are still flowing slowly into the once cheerful hall. The Injured or dead being laid down on cots.

“They will be here soon. Let’s get you looked at. I saw you rubbing your chest.” Mrs. Weasley said dragging her son to sit down on some bleachers that had been pushed to the side of the room and down onto the seat.

“I think it’s just shock. Something just doesn’t feel right. Is everyone okay?” George asked but Molly had gone still. Her hands that were firmly on George’s shoulders went weak as a small gasp passed her lips. George followed his mom’s eyes and the air froze in his lungs.

In the entrance to the Great hall stood Mr. Weasley, Percy, and a blood-drenched Fred, holding an equally blood-drenched Gwen, who wasn’t moving. Mr. Weasly and Percy were all but holding up the older twin as he cried. His eyes locked forward. As they began walking into the hall, every person looked up and their hearts broke a little more at the loss of one more of their friends or classmates.

As for George, he felt time stop at that moment. He suddenly knew where the pain in his chest was coming from. Most would think that it was emitting from a clearly devastated Fred. But George knew better.

It was coming from the feeling of losing the one person who was meant for you. From losing your soulmate. He could see Gwen’s head lying limply against his twin’s chest, he could see a trail of blood running down her arm and to her chipped magenta-colored nails. He could see her eyes closed as if she was sleeping. He almost wanted to believe she was sleeping, but the feeling in his chest told him otherwise.

From across the hall, Fred made eye contact with his twin, and simultaneously both boys’ faces screwed up in pain. George ran to meet his twin, his chest emitting heartbreaking sobs as he gently took Gwen from Fred’s arms. Not caring about the cold drying blood that covered his arms or chest and sank to the floor. He held the body of Gwen close to him. Rocking back and forth as tears fell

“Gwen. Love, please.” he whimpered, brushed a hair that had become stuck to her cheek with blood away. Waiting for her to open her eyes and say it was all some cruel joke, that she was actually okay. But as he pressed his forehead to her chest he waited, waited to feel her heart beat under him. But it never came.

If you don’t specify a house for hp fics I'll write it as netural or i’ll choose one which fits the storyline

Feel free to request AU’s, eg. soulmate, no voldy, royal, rockstar etc. dark fics and horror are okay

You can request fics with any kind of reader , eg. lupine wolf, shy! reader, tomboy! reader, werewolf! reader etc

I don’t take smutty requests but I will write the lead up, some spicy make out sessions, talk about sex / mature themes, just not explicit content x (this may change with time)

You can also request ideas for next parts in mini series or part 2′s to existing works

Although longer requests are welcome, fics planned out without any room for me to be creative are less likely to be written

It takes time to write and I want to make sure it's the best it can be, so please be patient

Cannons in my writing and things to know:

Below is some of the things i tend to keep cannon in my writing but these can differ depending on the readers house and storyline (mostly for hp fics):

If the reader is Hufflepuff they are always friends with Jess McConnell and Cedric Diggory (Golden Era), or Amos Diggory and Alex McConnell (Marauder Era)

If the reader is Slytherin they will usually be friends with Timothy Greengrass and Joey Taggart (Golden Era), or Regulus, Barty, Evan and Pandora (Marauder Era)

I won’t write Marlene, Angelina, Pansy or Astoria as villians, they may be in the story but I refuse make them toxic for the sake of it

Cedric won’t be used as a way of making people jealous, I see that used alot plus I really like Cho and Cedric so i prefer to write him as a good friend/brother figure

Neville and Luna are always sweeties

Marlene and Dorca are always iconic queens

In non-voldy universes Peter is the cutest and sweetest marauder (aka the loveable weirdo)

When the reader isn't paired with them the following ships are cannon: wolfstar, dorlene, jilly or jegulus/marylily, hinny, romione

Hi, i’m ace. I got really bored and i need an excuse to procrastinate on my personal writing projects so i decided to start an account dedicated to just writing. So like, you can request almost anything (limits below) like if you want like a platonic fic just ask! If you want the reader to be the kid or sibling of the character, i’ll do it! You can be as specific or as vague as you want, eventually i’ll get some prompts for help but for now, you gotta wing it. North Star Series

Chapter 7 - Big Brother

Warnings: cursing, George and Fred arguing, angry George, sad Fred

Summary: An overprotective Fred confronts George and Y/N about the nature of their relationship.

Start here:

"I don't see why you're so upset. I think they make a cute couple." Ginny smiled at George and Y/N lounging on their usual spot by the fire.

Fred opened his mouth, then closed it, pinching his lips together. 'Ridiculously cute.' But, there was no way in hell he was admitting that out loud.

A painful tightness formed in his chest at the sound of his brother and Y/N laughing. "Of course George would fall for the girl who lives half a world away and is leaving at the end of the year."

"So?" Ginny shrugged. "Long distance relationships are not unheard of, you know." She glanced up and slapped Fred's hand away from his mouth. "Stop biting your nails! You're making them bleed."

"Oi, Ginny! That hurt." Fred rubbed the burgeoning red mark on the back of his hand.

Ginny rolled her eyes. "Don't be such a baby. And stop worrying so much."

"But, this isn't going to end well." Fred whined, gesturing toward his twin and Y/N.

"Maybe. Maybe not. But George has to live his own life. You can't protect him forever."

"He's not ready for a broken heart, Ginny."

"No one ever is, doesn't matter if it's their first or their fiftieth."

Fred knew Ginny was right, but that didn't make it any easier watching his brother run headlong over a cliff. With each passing day, George and Y/N grew closer, their once well-defined edges beginning to blur together.

Tonight would be the eighth time in two weeks that Y/N and George spent the night together in the common room. Fred sighed and proceeded to chew another nail down to the quick. The really sad, frustrating part was that he really did like Y/N and she was as close to perfect for George as anybody could get. His brother's happiness and self-confidence had skyrocketed since she arrived. Under different circumstances, Fred would be ecstatic.

Except, circumstances weren't different and Fred just couldn't see how their relationship would survive her return to the States. Everytime he saw the two of them together, his chest ached at the thought of George's inevitable heartbreak.

Fred decided to broach the subject while he and George were in their dorm room working on a prototype for their new invention.

"What are you doing with Y/N?"

"Nothing at the moment." George grinned. "She's at the library helping Ginny and Neville with their potions homework right now. Ask me again in a few hours."

"I'm being serious, George."

"So am I."

Fred glowered at his twin.

"Ok, ok. Sorry. Carry on." George sat up straighter and put on his best serious face.

Choosing to ignore his twin's antics, Fred began. "The two of you are spending almost all of your free time together. You spent most of the day at Hogsmede with her and now she's your date to the Yule Ball."

"Should I have asked you, instead?" George asked, eyes twinkling.

Fred tapped his fingers on the table, eyes narrowed at his brother. "Don't you think you might be spending a bit too much time with her?"

"No, why?" George's eyebrows crinkled together. "We're really good friends."

"Really good friends? Seriously, mate? Don't give me that shit. I see the way you look at each other. Not to mention, your little cuddlefests in the common room say otherwise."

George leaned back in his chair, arms crossed. "What the hell are you trying to say?

Fred raked his fingers through his hair, taking a deep breath before continuing. "Y/N's an exchange student and she's leaving at the end of the school year. That's what I'm saying. Have you thought about what's going to happen when she goes back home?"

George stood and paced around the room. "Look, we're really close, I'll give you that. But, we're just friends."

"You're avoiding my question." Fred accused. "You know I'm right. You know getting too close to her is a mistake."

"It's my mistake to make." George stood rigid, his voice cold as he glared at the older twin.

"Yeah, it is. I just want you to think about things. If I were you--

George cut him off. "BUT YOU AREN'T, ARE YOU?! AND I'M NOT YOU! We are separate people, in case you haven't noticed. And I'm perfectly capable of making my own decisions."

Fred flinched at his twin's angry words. It was rare that they fought and even rarer that his brother raised his voice. He visibly swallowed and began again. "George, I'm not trying to tell you what to do. I--I just don't want you getting hurt."

George's shoulders slumped, his anger draining away when he saw the pain in Fred's eyes. Letting out a long sigh, he sat back down. "Freddie--" George began, but Fred, oblivious to his twins change in demeanor, held up his hand, silencing him.

"I need to take a walk," he said, standing and hurrying out of the room, leaving George to stare after him.

Fred walked, barely aware of the biting wind, a painful tightness in his throat. He loved George more than anyone or anything else and had only wanted to help, to look after his brother, like he'd always done. Not only did he fail at that, he may have made things worse. He should've listened to Ginny and kept his stupid mouth shut.

The elder twin sighed. He knew he was wallowing in self-pity. He didn't care. He didn't have the energy or desire to do anything else. So he walked and wallowed until the cold burned his cheeks and the damp from the recent rain leeched into his bones.

Not ready to face George, Fred wandered the halls, lost in his endless ruminations, when a familiar voice infiltrated his brooding thoughts. It was Ginny. She and Neville were coming out of the library.

"Hi, big brother!" Ginny bounded over to him. "What brings you here?"

He didn't answer, but responded with a question of his own. "Is Y/N still in the library?"

"I--uh, yeah. Why?" Ginny questioned.

"Just need to ask her something." Fred mumbled as he marched into the library before his sister could ask anything else.

Y/N was sitting alone, engrossed in a book. She didn't notice Fred until he sat down next to her.

"Oh hi, Fred," she greeted him, perplexed at his sudden appearance.

"You got a minute to talk?" He asked.

"Uh, yeah, of course. What's on your mind?"

"Where do you see your relationship with George going?" Fred asked, jumping straight to the point.

"Where do I--?" Y/N looked at him blankly.

"When you go back home, what are you expecting to happen?"

"Ohh." She closed her book, realization dawning on her. "I'm not going to toss him off to the side, if that's what you're asking."

"Is that a promise you really think you can keep?" Fred crossed his arms.

Y/N sighed, running a hand through her hair. "George is the plot twist I didn't see coming. In a very short time he has worked his way into my heart." She paused, looking down at her hands for a moment. "That's--unusual for me. I don't let just anyone get that close to me, especially this quickly. Some would say I'm picky or snobbish. I don't care," she shrugged. "I have very high standards and George surpassed every single one. Do you know how rare that is for me? It almost never happens. Friend or otherwise, I'm not giving him up, Fred. Not unless he wishes it."

Fred didn't respond immediately, but remained silent, searching her eyes, mulling over her words.

When he finally spoke, his voice was softer, arms uncrossed. "Promise me that you'll be gentle with him. He's more fragile than he lets on."

"Believe me, I know." She locked eyes with Fred. "I promise I will always be gentle. No matter what happens.

The faintest hint of a smile crossed his face. "Good." With that he stood and strode out of the library, the weight on his shoulders a little lighter.

21+. She/Her. Looking for 21+ writing partners for four of my current biggest fandoms right now.

I write on Discord or through Tumblr messages but do like to stick to Tumblr for plotting. I write in third person, past tense and around 2-4 paragraphs. Replies won't happen every day because I work full-time. I'm usually, however, able to get them out in 2-3 days. I like canon x canon pairings the most but am not opposed to canon x OC. I'm open to MxM, FxF, or MxF pairings for canon x canon. For canon x OC, I only do MxM or FxF. I like canon and canon divergent plots. No AUs that are way out there. I'm mainly interested in canon x canon pairings. I'll take on some canon x OC as well (I only write as canons myself). I'm fine with MxM, MxF, and FxF ships for canon x canon and highly prefer MxM for canon x OC. I like canon and canon divergent plots. No AUs that are way out there.
