i think it’d be super cute and funny if angel signed alastor up for some pole dancings lessons and alastor ACTUALLY went JFJDJDJD
HAH - I can actually imagine that if the current hotel residents got to make any customizations to their rooms during the rebuild of the hotel, that Angel Dust would 100% be the kind of person to just have a pole installed in his room for practice and working out.
I feel like if they got tipsy and competitive enough (because Alastor would definitely out-dance Angel when it comes to his preferred forms of dance), Alastor would end up dragged upstairs to Angel's room for Angel to prove to him that he can dance, actually, thank you very much!! Could someone that can't dance do THIS?!
If he ends up shoving a drunk Alastor at the pole at any point, I'm 100% imagining Alastor as the type of person who is not even remotely flexible enough for the kind of coordination pole requires, but that also has enough freaky demonic super strength and also the ability to, like, break his own bones and do things like rotate his head 180 degrees or tilt it sideways at a right angle, and so just brute forces his way through any of the beginner moves that Angel shows him in the most horrific, uncanny way possible.
shout out to my folks with insomnia & depression & delayed sleep phase disorder & sleep apnea & disabilities & other sleep disorders diagnosed, undiagnosed, and just my plain old night owls & night shift workers!! we r so fucking cool & exist every day in a society not made for us at all. and NONE of us are lazy bums or bad people for staying up late & sleeping in till noon or two or whatever whenever you get up!! no matter what anyone says!! you’re incredible and i love you!!!
It's okay to rest if you need it, even if you think you've already rested a lot today and still need a nap or whatever. You do not have to earn rest, it's okay to take breaks. It's healthy to take breaks even, and relax. Take your time, recoup your energy. It's fine. It will be okay.
You are valid, no matter how much or how little rest you need.
It’s easy to dismiss your achievements when they seem so small in comparison to what your goals for the future are. Please remember that small steps are progress, don’t beat yourself up for not getting closer to what you dream of by doing things at a pace that is not respectful to your own limits, to your circumstances and whatever problems you struggle with. Those small achievements build up with time, they bring you closer to your goals. You can still enjoy life while you’re not where you wanted to be and you can still enjoy the journey when you do things at your own pace. You have time, and you’re not a failure.
Remember to recognize the small steps you make, and try to be patient, those small steps are taking you to new places, even if that is hard to see now because you’re still just at the beginning of your journey. Try to accept yourself as you are, knowing that things will change not only because you’re working towards it but because change is natural. Things won’t stay the same forever, you’re not stuck - you’re making progress even if you don’t see it.
Try not to beat yourself up at the end of the day because you couldn’t manage to do everything you planned. You’re trying, and the fact that you are doing so is already a good thing. Those small daily achievements matter, even when you can’t achieve all the ones you set out to do because you only have so many hours in a day. Please don’t push yourself to always get everything done so you can reach your goals as fast as possible because you won’t be able to enjoy your success if you’re burned out and struggling with your health. It’s not over yet, but you need to rest so you can carry on. You can keep trying tomorrow, it’s not too late. You will get there, but be mindful of your limitations, be kind to your body, recognize the smallest of achievements, they all matter. You matter.
(Ignoring the problematic fact that Daniel had to ask Red Bull to limit his media duties in 2017-18 because it was an open secret that he was worked to exhaustion in the lead up to the AUS GP. Re: Max in 2022 talking about how Daniel never really got to enjoy being in Melbourne )
Here is a cute clip of Daniel curling up on the couch after media day in Melbourne
I still think about how Leo’s ideal day out for the fam’s venture into the Hidden City was basically just an effort to get some rest and relaxation because boy does he never get that ever.
