"Treasure Island"- Robert Louis Stevenson

I got that book for a gift from someone many, many years ago, when I was still a kid. I even read some pages once, but I gave up and started another book. It was boring, this was all I remembered.

But now, when years passed, between "Mockingjay" and "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes", which I haven't had in my hands yet, I started "Treasure Island". I was searching something light, more fairytale-styled and short to fill that a few day-gap.

First thing I saw was the form (? idk how it's in english, forgive me). Many school curricular lectures are published in that form in my country. Well, I was right, but that didn't stopped me from reading.

"Treasure Island" is a nice pirate centred book about adventures and sea travels. Nothing necessary for that type of books were missing. Even if it's not my favourite genre, I didn't complain. I liked these interesting plot twists, surprises. Every character had their portrait, they weren't the same.

Great lecture for holidays.

Dostałam tę książkę na prezent od kogoś wiele, wiele lat temu, kiedy byłam jeszcze dzieckiem. Kiedyś nawet przeczytałam kilka stron, ale porzuciłam to na rzecz innej książki. Była wtedy nudna. Tyle zapamiętałam.

Po latach jednak, w związku z przerwą między ''Kosogłosem'' a ''Balladą Ptaków i Węży'', której to nie miałam jeszcze u siebie, sięgnęłam po Wyspę Skarbów. Szukałam czegoś lżejszego, bardziej bajkowego i krótkiego, by zapełnić tę kilkudniową lukę.

Pierwsze, na co zwróciłam uwagę, było wydanie. Wiele lektur szkolnych, przynajmniej u nas w Polsce, jest tak wydawana. Cóż, miałam rację. Mimo to, nic nie przeszkodziło mi w czytaniu.

Wyspa Skarbów to przyjemna, piracka książka o przygodach, wyprawach i morskich podróżach. Nie zabrakło tam niczego, co powinna zawierać książka tego typu. Choć to raczej nie mój klimat, nie narzekałam. Natknęłam się na bardzo interesujące zwroty akcji, zaskoczenia. Bohaterowie tej powiastki nie są jednolici, wszyscy mają oryginalnie narysowane portrety.

Podsumowując, świetna lektura dla odpoczynku na wakacje.

As i got this book, can't control myself from watching this movie for the second time but Still it's action scenes and the cinematography holds u till the end of the movie.

Captain Ahab tries to defeat the nature. His obsession with vengeance against moby dick is incomparable. He doesn't care about his as well as shipmates life. What he cares is only vengeance and that obsession made this a masterpiece.

I dream of sunlight being reflected in the sea a thousand times over in the afternoon

A few days ago I was swimming towards the golden molten globe of the sun as it rose from the saltwater

Now I’m here, miles away, dreaming of the ocean again
