S3 is so good in many ways, but some of my favourite ways are the dynamics

- the fallout between Allison and Viktor feels so real and painful on each end of the dynamic

- Klaus and Reggie? Need I say more?

- Five and Lila being frenemies (I love them so much)

- the Luther and Reginald dynamic!!!! It might have been a quieter thread through S3 but it definitely made itself known especially in 3x08/3x09 and I wanna scream about it so much

- Diego and Stan - just the idea of some kid from 1989 being like sure I'll fuck over a guy I've never met and Diego immediately adopting said kid, no notes

- Sparrow Ben and literally any of the Umbrellas - my dude my guy my emotionally stunted idiot and the embodiment of chaos family bonding:)

out of pure curiosity who is/are your favorite character(s) to write tkl content for? :]

Aw this is really sweet! Honestly, it chances with the seasons. It ebbs & flows, like the tides

A few years ago, Tony Stark was a big favorite, along with Sam Wilson & Bucky Barnes. & Peter Parker for the clout, I knew if I wrote anything with him it would pop off & it did

& then umbrella academy & the witcher came along, & I absolutely adored writing Jaskier & Klaus getting wrecked, they were the pandemic blorbos for me

Now I’m still deep in the critickle role fandom, specifically the mighty nein & Caleb is my most favorite man to see get destroyed. He’s so sad & grumpy & I just need him to smile & laugh himself silly! Honestly Fjord is another one I really need to write more of, he’s canonically ticklish wtf have I been doing? (Writing other things, slaving away at college, graduating, etc.)

Now that I’m aware there’s actually people in the t community who are into Hatchetfield stuff, they’re all at the top of my list! I’ve been holding back for so long because I thought it was just me & a tube sock, but no, there’s actually people who want to read it!! So I’m gonna say both Spankoffski bros, Steph, Paul & Emma, & the lib (yes all of them) but literally everyone from any of these shows ever, I’m so obsessed with them all I just didn’t wanna look too crazy listing every single character

I also really really loved writing Jon Sims getting wrecked in the 2 fics I did with him for tickletober & I plan on making more when I finish the podcast

With the first season of hazbin hotel out on amazon, I’m also gonna say I have a lot of fun writing for both Angel & Alastor. Their accents are so much fun to imagine while writing them & I just really love their vibe! & they’re both a different brand of asshole, but both need to get wrecked as an attitude adjustment

I have so many characters from smaller fandoms or ones I just haven’t written for yet that I’d love to write for! Eiffel from wolf 359 is at the tippy top of that list, he is THE poor meow meow ok he uses humor & references to cope but he’s so sad!

I’d also really to to write for Black Beard, he needs to be wrecked to hell & back

Dr. Flug from villainous is soooo lee coded ok I need to do SOMETHING for that show!

So I finished the season and nice to know that the writers were actually doing an intentional villain arc for Allison bc I was straight up rooting for them to kill her every time she came on screen by the second half of the season. I’m unfortunately not surprised by the people going “she was justified :)” as sucky at is, but I sincerely hate her at this point. Legitimately, I don’t think that you can redeem her at this point, because:

she sexually assaulted and nearly raped her brother as he begged her to stop

told Viktor that he deserved his trauma (the basement comment was so out of fucking line)

murdered an Autistic man in cold blood because he was unable to control powers that he shouldn’t have had in the first place (and was directly the Hargreeves’ fault)

oh, can’t forget that she conveniently skipped over how Viktor was helping raise Harlan with Sissy and was the only thing left of his life in the 60′s as well while she’s justifying cold-blooded murder because of her leaving her husband in the past (which she fucking knew she’d have to!!) and her daughter getting wiped from existence (which is a valid thing to be upset about, but also doesn’t justify it)

made a deal that led to two of her brothers being murdered by their father

continually blamed and hurt the people around her for things out of their control

continually emotionally manipulated everyone around her without remorse

risked her remaining family to save a man that lived a full life without her and the daughter that she abused in the original timeline (or would we like to discuss mind controlling your child, Allison, you wouldn’t have had access to her anyways because you abused her)

(also did she wipe out her ex-husband from existence? is he still claire’s father? bc he’s the only actual parent that claire had bc you were busy mind controlling your child)

i think that’s the thing that gets me is like. season two and season three were not bad tv. like yeah personally i had some gripes with the dialogue and the effects or whatever, but they were absolutely fun tv

but like. i didn’t just want tv out of seasons two and three, i wanted a faithful continuation of the story and characters and themes of season one. and i do think that on that level, season two but especially season three are a fundamental failure in that respect

i feel like having five's mom be a butcher is such a misunderstanding of five and what his character means.

it implies that the violent, brutal actions he commits are in some way genetic/inherited, rather than cultivated after nearly five/six decades of desperate survival and manipulation. it implies that five was always going to become violent, that he had no chance at being soft or innocent because of his genetics.

and that, to me, takes away so much of the tragedy of his situation.

five doesn't want to be a killer, but he had to become one to have a chance at saving his family. he had to accept the handler's deal because if he didn't, if he refused to kill, he would be stuck in the apocalypse with no one but a mannequin to talk to and no clean water or stable food source or general quality of life.

five's brutality and willingness to kill was man-made and cultivated by the commission. sure, his already there traits helped to propel him towards this outcome, but it wasn't his first or even second choice.

depicting his mother as a butcher by itself is a betrayal of this character. but to also depict her as someone who loves this job, who has won awards for it, who takes pleasure from driving a knife through a slab of meat over and over again?

the implications of five having always enjoyed inflicting pain or of having that base instinct his entire life strips his character of agency, and makes his choice to sacrifice some of his humanity void. he didn't choose to become a killer for any higher purpose or sacrifice, but because he was always going to be that killer, because he enjoyed it.

y'know, sometimes you just gotta look at the average age of people in a certain fandom and go 'good for them, i'm too old to interact with media in the way that they're doing' and just nope out
