#we deserved to see more of this allison in s3 </3
Text
i genuinely find it so fucking hilarious that in 02x10, allison was like "sorry viktor i can't go with you to help save harlan so best of luck to you :/" but then she showed up two minutes later in the car because she just had to change into a cooler outfit akjskdfjaksdhf

The Umbrella Academy s3 spoiler!!
-Okay i'm so fucking pissed of rn u have no idea, literally.
Tumblr media
Five spent his whole life in that fucking apocalypse, 45 fucking years, alone, without food or water, toxic air, a fucking mannequin who believed he was human because HELLO GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY HE HAS A FUCKING TRAUMA and he has seen the dead bodies of his family multiple times, lived with the commission just to be able to go back to who exactly? his ungrateful sibilings? who? the ones who don't appreciate him and accuse him of causing that fucking apocalypse for pleasure because he has nothing better to do? as if all of it wasn't for him a fucking trauma he has experienced three times since he was what, 13 years old? Really? And not to mention that they always blame him for everything i mean fuck off honestly.
Tumblr media
He did everything for them, literally. He pushed himself over and over again, got hit, beaten, lost an arm, nearly killed and all this over and over while they... what? What have they ever done for him? Everyone calls him an asshole as if this asshole wasn't the one who saves your life without batting an eye after disappearing. He's back after 17 years of missing (or at least for THEM were 17) and, without even sleeping, he immediately started looking for a solution. Oh poor them all.. are you lost in a timeline all alone? Well he was alone for 45 years and he was a fucking kid and I'm so sorry if he was trying to fix the mess you caused in 17 years and he took you all with him losing his strength and suffering just to save your asses so yeah, be alone in another time it's surely a fucking shit but up to 10 minutes before you were crying because you were going to die and he saved you, again.
I'm really tired of this. He's insulted, not appreciated and much more and has had a life full of shit and not even a break if not that nap in the hotel and all that for what? Try to save sibilings who don't care about him? I wonder why they can't just say thank you to him or acknowledge the fact that he's the one who puts himself out there for all of them and never gets anything in return. No one appreciates him, no one recognizes all the effort and what he went through for them, ever. Not even once.
Tumblr media
Even in the end when Allison made that mess and everyone lost their powers, he was left alone. The others didn't bat an eye, didn't say anything and didn't even look at him, they simply allowed the brother who saved them multiple times to find himself in the body of a thirteen-year-old without powers and completely alone without even looking at him. When Allison has been bad and acted like shit all season then it's okay because she's in pain but if Five tries to save them and they make more mess then what? Then he did it on purpose, right? And he's what, just an asshole without feelings? But are they at least aware that his life revolves around their safety and nothing else? We want to talk about Luther who, again, blames Five because Sloane was not there? hello?? doesn't he know that Allison did it all by herself?? why blame him? fuck off u all honestly.
And no, this is not a competition to see who is most traumatized and who deserves more and you know what? They're fucking lucky with that because he would win hands down after not even a second because he lived 60 years of shit just for them and I don't care about who will go against me because these are facts.
Don't you agree? That's okay, of course I accept it but please don't start discussions. I recognize that everyone has suffered but it seems to me that everyone is there for each other except when it's Five because when it's him it's okay, right? So it's just the old Five who gets drunk and is an asshole, right? I look very angry because I am, believe me.
(the only one to say good things to Five was Klaus during their trip but I didn't expect anything else from Klaus <3)

y’all really took Umbrella Academy season 2 for granted and I bet you’re regretting it now that we’ve all lived through the clusterfuck that was season 3
Luther was smack in the middle of a realistic and well written “redemption” arc (redemption in quotes because he was never really a villain in the first place). The Allison/Luther bullshit was firmly behind us and we got to see him FINALLY being pissed at Reggie which was so satisfying.
We got to see Diego’s softer side in his relationship with Lila but we also got to see him being a capable badass at the Commission. And the HAIR. 🥵🥵🤯🥹
God I miss season 2 Allison. I miss her so much. She deserves to have a wholesome, supportive relationship and the character development of her living a life that she EARNED was so satisfying. I still wish we’d gotten to see the aftermath of her injury a little more but it was nice to watch the flashback where she and Ray fell in love. (Raymond Chestnut my beloved you will always be famous)
I know we all like to clown on Klaus’ cult storyline and how dismissive he was of Ben but I see Season 2 Klaus as a necessary waypoint for him to get to a better, more well adjusted place. Recovery isn’t linear and I think Klaus did need to hit a few more rock bottoms before he got there. He was also such a sympathetic character, dealing with loss and the long avoided consequences of his actions. And yeah, the Ben/Klaus beef came kinda out of nowhere but it was realistic for Ben to start to resent Klaus after 15 years of putting up with his bullshit nonstop. At least it was more realistic than whatever happened with Viktor and Allison in S3.
Five was just Five. He’s always Five. But I feel like he was peak Five in season 2. The paradox psychosis episode? His conflict with Viktor? The Five-Luther-Elliot-Diego-Lila bonding time? We got to see him be closed off and hyper focused but somehow still bonding with his siblings.
Ben 🥺 Ben 😢 Benjamin Jessica Hargreeves 😔 I miss you so much you were so kind and loyal and supportive and sassy and hot and I don’t understand why they brought you back if you were just going to be a shell of your regular self. we love you we miss you thank you for your sacrifice.
And don’t even get me started on Season 2 Viktor. God, what a badass. I think giving him temporary amnesia was a really good choice because he got to be free from the anxiety and guilt of everything that had happened at the Academy. And then we got to watch him evolve into the badass that he is and give the middle finger to token homophobe Carl and the entire FBI. Sexy of him.
And the new characters????? Listen Sloane is cool and all but she will never be Lila or Sissy or Ray. Also cutting The Handler was a shitty decision. She was such a good villain and I miss her.
It’s also funny to me that S2’s definition of family bonding was the salon scene and S3’s definition was Klaus getting thrown into traffic by his abusive father.
And the aesthetic was so good?? It was bright and colorful but still felt like The Umbrella Academy, which I’m sorry but season 3 did not.
Anyway thank you for letting me scream into the void. I’m gonna go rewatch season 2 and pretend that season 3 had no impact on canon. Hargreeves Siblings I love you all and I’m sorry they replaced you all with inconsistent cardboard cutouts. Goodnight and god bless.

Ben and Allison Stan’s have been through the absolute worse of any season bc the writers don’t know how to write characters of color accurately, makes me hope we don’t get another season tbh
Anon, I couldn’t agree more :/
Which really sucks because it IS a pretty well-made show on the whole!! Costumes, sets, CGI, acting is all on point.
To add on to that, it hails itself as a very progressive show. And it is: see Viktor’s transition and relationship with Sissy and Klaus casually being a genderqueer person! But it’s only when it comes to white people’s sexuality and gender. Diego, Allison, and Ben are the only three non-white siblings (Lila’s there too but she’s not really a sibling lol) and are arguably the least developed/focused on in the show. It tends to focus on Klaus, Five, and/or Viktor, three white guys. And yeah, Viktor’s marginalized in that he’s transmasc and Klaus in that he’s pan, but that’s really nothing to do with race.
Ben was dead before the series even started, making him inherently underdeveloped. He only ever has interactions with Klaus and only really serves to further his arc. It was obvious he was cared about, but who really was he aside from being the dead sibling? Hm?
Not gonna talk about Sparrow!Ben btw. He’s mid in my eyes.
And I’ve said my peace about Allison. There was a lot of gratuitous racial violence against her in season 2, as many people mentioned. Of course, it was the 60s and racism was really unavoidable. And genuinely, there IS trauma that this mainly white fandom will never, ever understand. I really, really wish the writers hadn’t made her really irredeemable in S3. This show is a beautiful story about how anyone can be redeemed, no matter who they are or what they have done (see Luther, Klaus, Viktor even!)…except when it comes to a Black woman.
Allison was an atoner this WHOLE time. She’s done her time trying for forgiveness. Her arc in Season 1 was to make things right with the black sheep sibling as well as get her daughter back, and her arc in Season 2 was contributing into civil rights efforts, DESPITE knowing it could cost her her life.
And I’m NOT against a villain arc for her; after everything that happened, she deserves to lose control. But the writers never portray her actions as sympathetic in season 3; therefore, the audience doesn’t feel sympathy for her. By the time S3EP5 rolls around (when That Scene happens), she has lost any narrative empathy; now she is a bitch. Now she is a monster. Now she’s irredeemable, an outsider from her 5 siblings. Nothing the writers could potentially do could save this character now.
And isn’t that a damn shame?

Ray
i love ray with all my heart and he was, imo, the best love interest of the show besides sloane and i’m glad to have him back..
just why does he have to come back due to a bad decision his wife made? why couldn’t he had just poofed back into existence </3
^idc if that’s not logical, man i just want ray to be back and be here for a more positive reason :(
he was such a sweetheart and a leader, he didn’t care what happened to him during the cafe sit in and shoved a cop away from allison to keep her safe, resulting in him to be shoved onto a table then beat outside :(
don’t even get me started on the scene when he first asked allison out, she even spoke for him and it brought such happiness to his eyes. when he found out about her powers, you see genuine heartbreak when he starts to doubt her and think she used her powers on him.
s2 allison and ray have my heart in such a grasp hold. even with how BAD allison was in s3, if we get an s4, i just want a happy family between him, claire, and allison, even if she doesn’t deserve it. i literally just love ray so much.

Me rambling about season 3 (aka SPOILER WARNING)
I just finished season 3... and oh lord I have so much to talk about.
1: WHAT THE HELL IS BEN PLOTTING? WTF WAS THAT POST CREDIT SCENE?! (pls tell me i’m not the only one who tried to scan the QR code on the train...)
2: Where tf is Sloane? Like, she really just disappeared. Why? Plus it’s an entire new universe. So where would Luther have even gone to look for her?
3: I’m really starting to wonder how Old Five helped save the universe, and ended up founding the Commission. What went differently that time? Obviously a lot, but I guess we probably won’t ever know.
4: What the fuck, REGINALD. He really went and did all that shit for his girlfriend. Bastard. Why the hell did you have to destroy so many lives in the process?! But that means that Luther spent those years on the moon for an actual purpose... still, it doesn’t make sense. Yet.
5: Diego and Lila are sooo cute, I’m excited for the baby! But damn, I miss Stan already.
6: I wish we got so much more Mr. Pennycrumb. He deserved a lot of screen time, yeah?
7: WHY DID THAT ‘E’ IN REGINALD’S SIGN LOOK LIKE THE TESLA BRAND THING?! EXPLAIN!
8: I’m very confuzzled by Allison’s new reality... how did Ray end up in the 2000′s? Idk, but I’m happy for them.
9: What. the fuck. happened. to their powers.
10: I’m a bit sad to have not seen more of the sparrow team as a whole. I really liked Fei and Christopher, and had hoped to see more of that cocky duo. Ah, well, I can’t say that I was sad to see Jayme and Alphonso go.
11: Can we talk about Five’s singing or what?! Holy shit I love it when he gets drunk.
12: Bus-ball... I CAN’T. [But wow, I’m so proud of Klaus. He grew so much (while somehow staying exactly the same) in s3.]
Anywho, enough of my questions/complaints/ramblings. Overall, I loved that season to bits. Klaus, Viktor, Five, Diego, and Lila were all my absolute favorites in this round! Nope, I could never choose one. Can’t wait for season 4!

Thoughts about TUA S3 so far... 3 and a 1/3rd episodes in. Spoilers below!
So far, I have pretty mixed feelings about this season. I definitely like it more than S2, and mmmmaybe even more than S1, but it’s a bit early to tell. I just think it’s been super fun so far.
The parts I’ve really enjoyed so far are things like: -The dance battle, which was goofy as heck but it felt like serotonin shot straight to my brain lol. I loved it. - I’m LIVING for the sibling energy we’re getting with Klaus and Diego, and Klaus and Five, that’s fantastic. - The soundtrack is always superb. - Five is always superb. - Klaus is delightful in every scene and I adore that the writers are leaning more into his softness and not entirely making him comic relief. - Alphonso is just such a mood. I love how he’s just vibing in every scene. Man just wants to eat snacks, make jokes, and watch everyone fight. - KLAUS IS AMISH!!!! - Viktor and Allison have some really really good moments, and I enjoy how they’ve handled Viktor’s transition. I’m not trans, but I think those parts were really, really sweet and moving.  - Dad!Diego actually isn’t... so bad? He has some moments and while I still don’t like Diego/Lila, Stan is actually pretty charming. I’m not sure if I trust him, though. Something seems fishy about him. But I like him anyway. - I also love that we’re finally getting to see Allison crack and deal with some of her anger and trauma; it’s been a very very long time coming.
And this is great! But there are a few big points that I’m iffy on, and it’s primarily Reginald and the Sparrows.
The Sparrows seem to have an almost dystopian hold over the city, and have completely whipped Reginald through abuse and keeping him drugged. He’s become softer, almost timid under their treatment, and a fraction of a fraction of the cruel, spry egotist that we saw in S1 and S2.
It’s... interesting, to say the least. And Klaus’ desperation to have a loving father even now is painful. He wants a normal, happy family SO badly. This almost seems like his chance to have that, but I’m skeptical.
On one hand, I do want Klaus to have his ideal life with a family, and maybe even Sarah Beth. But I really, really, really do not want Reginald to be included in this family.
So far, Reginald’s depiction is sympathetic, which could be a problem, but the poetic justice of his situation can’t be ignored. He’s being treated as he treated Viktor, if to a yet seen lesser degree, and... gosh, while he does deserve worse, it’s impossible to miss that this is a clear representation of abusive parents suffering the consequences of their actions. Their children don’t love them, they don’t treat them like parents, ignore them, and, in some cases, abuse them in return, and the abusive parent just doesn’t understand why their kids don’t want to see them anymore.
Regardless of how soft or even almost likable this Reginald is (or seems to be, I’m still not sure it isn’t an act)... this still feels very realistic and tbh I can deal with that. My only qualm is that I have no idea how OUR Reginald could just take it and be so genial about being bossed around (assuming it isn’t an act). And I really hope some of that is explained, that we have some confirmation that Reginald was abusive to the Sparrows, giving them motive, or some sort of reversion back to our Old Reginald, because at the moment, it feels very OOC.
Like... alright. I am a firm believer that any character can have a redemption arc. Yes, even Reginald Hargreeves, horrible, awful father that he was.
To say that redemption is only exclusive to those who are “deserving” is a dangerous narrative, and I’ve... never really been fond of anyone saying that unironically. People should be allowed to grow and better themselves. ALL people. And, yeah, I know Reg isn’t real, so that doesn’t have to apply to a fictional character, but... if TUA is trying to redeem him, then I think that’s fine. That’s my point.
However, redemption does not and should not necessarily include acceptance or even forgiveness from those who have been hurt. Rather, redemption, especially for Reginald, should look like genuine regret and effort to change, preferably while acknowledging to the Umbrellas that he was not a good father. Then, I would hope, the Umbrellas would only work with him if necessary, and drop him for their own health. They have grown away from the Academy, and now it’s time that they cut off the source of their trauma: Reginald Hargreeves. I want to see him be a better person, but I also want the Umbrellas to know that they don’t have to keep him in their lives. They don’t NEED to associate with their abuser, even if he develops into a kinder man.
I could also critique my problems with Diego/Lila and Stan, or even Luther/Sloan (which btw I don’t have a problem with people who ship them, it’s fine, but I don’t particularly think either are healthy or well-written; they’re just not my cup of tea)... but for now, Reginald is my greatest narrative concern.
I guess we shall see.

Teen Wolf triads are something that can be so personal, so here’s a list of my faves
Scott/Stiles/Allison
The OG trio. The gang that dies together might not stay together, but they’re still iconic.
Scott/Stiles/Lydia
Any Scott/Stiles/X dynamic is brilliant, but few more than this one. These three have been there since the beginning and they’ve gone through so much together. There’s no Teen Wolf without them.
Scott/Stiles/Derek
They were the driving force in S1&2 and had some absolutely iconic moments together. Hate that there wasn’t more of them after that.
Scott/Derek/Isaac
Mostly based on S2/3. I was very invested in Isaac’s struggle to pick between these two.
Scott/Stiles/Isaac
This triad’s dynamic completely changes between S2 and 3. In Season 2, Isaac, as part of Derek’s pack is a slightly antagonistic figure and it’s very much Scott&Stiles vs Isaac but in S3, Scott and Isaac grow closer while Isaac and Stiles erm, don’t. It’s very fun to watch.
Scott/Isaac/Allison
My ot3 and the only trio on this list that I 100% ship.
Isaac/Erica/Boyd
Ayy, it’s the OG Hale Pack aka 3 teens bonding over being thrown headfirst into something they weren’t prepared for and Derek’s horrible leadership. Isaac should’ve ran away with Erica and Boyd for solidarity’s sake.
Chris/Allison/Isaac
Chris’s struggle between hating Isaac for dating his daughter and wanting to adopt him is hilarious. One of my favourites.
Scott/Melissa/Isaac
Who didn’t completely melt at Isaac joining the McCall fam? The scene where they’re ‘guarding’ Melissa was so cute. As a bonus, it made Stiles’s animosity towards Isaac that much stronger. Will forever hate that this trio was more or less non-existent in 3b even though I love Chris/Allison/Isaac.
Derek/Cora/Peter
The non-dead Hales. Why oh why did Cora have to leave? Their family dynamic was great.
Allison/Lydia/Cora
I know they only had a couple scenes as a triad, but there was so potential. We love antagonism with underlying sexual tension. And ofc, the only thing better than 1 terrifying badass that can secretly be super sweet is 3 terrifying badasses.
Derek/Isaac/Boyd
At one point, the only non-dead members of the Hale Pack (TW quickly amended that). I always think of the S3a Loft scene where Boyd and Isaac skip school to protect Derek. Despite how awful of an alpha Derek’s been, they still care about him and he cares about them (as actual people and not just betas that he needs for power like he did originally)
Derek/Allison/Lydia.
Yes it’s my 5th s3 based trio in a row, but can you blame me? This is 100% based off the classroom scene in 3x02.
Allison/Lydia/Jackson
Although Lydia and Jackson were both awful in S1, their friendship with Allison and their immediately taking her under their wing was beyond precious. Additionally, it combines both the asshole-who’s-soft-towards-1-person- dynamic (jydia w/ allison) and assholes-who-secretly-care-about-each-other (jydia) And ofc, the underlying tension due to Jydia’s disdain towards Scott and later, Jackson and Allison’s experiences/knowledge of the supernatural.
Malia/Kira/Lydia
Comedy gold. Their scenes speak for themselves and we needed more.
Liam/Mason/Corey
Their S6a dynamic is sooo underrated and should’ve been given more screen time. I loved watching Liam and Corey struggle to get along for Mason’s sake because they want him to be happy. It was all very wholesome and one of the few things that made 6a worth watching.
Stiles/Scott/Liam
Aka the best part of S4.Their dynamic is so fun and well-balanced and infinitely better because they’re a triad. You’ve got Scott and Liam figuring out their mentor/mentee relationship with Stiles co-parenting and preventing the Scott/Liam dynamic from turning unhealthy. (Liam and Scott’s S6 dynamic veered way too close to parent/child for my taste. They need Stiles to balance it out) It’s also hilarious how quickly Liam accepts being aggressively adopted by two idiots who are barely older than him. And Stiles takes so easily to playing older brother/co-parent. It’s adorable. They’re adorable.
Erica/Allison/Lydia
Very similar dynamic to Allison/Lydia/Cora due to Cora and Erica’s similar personalities but also not, which has a lot to do with Allison and Lydia’s reactions to Erica’s weaponized feminity. Also, there’s a lot more history between these girls and I want to know everything about what Erica thinks of Lydia after going to school with her for years.
Sherriff/Melissa/Chris
Of the top of my head, I can only remember that time where they were trapped under the Nemeton and that’s simply unacceptable.
Sheriff/Noshiko/Melissa.
It’s a crime that this triad never got scenes. Especially after the Sheriff tried to arrest Kira. I know Melissa bitch slapped him but I wanted to watch these two badasses gang up on the Sheriff together. ( the Noshiko/Melissa dynamic would be so iconic.)
Victoria/Noshiko/Melissa
Another triad that never shared scenes (obviously because Vic is dead) but their power would’ve been off the charts. I want to make a joke about milfs, but I’ll refrain.
The Yukimura fam
Seemed appropriate since my last two also included. Noshiko.I love family dynamics and the Yukimuras are no exception. The attraction of this triad, for me, is mostly the dynamic between Kira and Noshiko and how Ken navigates between them. They’re also a trio that we didn’t see nearly enough of in S4 and 5. Like seriously, where were they? Noshiko’s on the dead pool, but she’s barely mentioned. (on a mostly unrelated note, how is the 900 yr old Kitsune worth less than a girl that just found about her kitsune powers?)
Derek/Allison/Scott
I don’t need to explain this one. The angst, the drama, Derek projecting Kate onto Allison and Allison trying to murder Derek and their evolution to reluctant allies with a good dash of Scallison and Scott navigating his own difficult relationship with Derek. Aka the complicated, tension fraught trio we all loved/should love. ( ok, I kind of explained it)
Derek/Scott/Liam
And here we have a two for one deal; two mentor/mentee dynamics in 1 triad. People much smarter than me have written about this trio in extensive detail, so all I’m saying is that Derek’s that one uncle who occasionally comes around and gives somewhat helpful advice.
Braeden/Malia/Scott
Braeden and Scott were great in S4. Braeden and Malia were great in S5. Scott and Malia are pretty great when they’re not in a relationship. Combine, and you get what had to be a kick-ass triad that’s sadly never canonly shown together (I think)
Melissa/Chris/Isaac
Not actually featured in the show, but Isaac deserves all the parental figures and I want to witness the surely epic custody battle between Chris and Melissa.
Malia/Scott/Peter
That this trio is on here is actually pretty funny because I hate both Scalia and the forced Peter/Malia bonding in S6. But I loved the scene where Peter warned Malia not to fall in love with Scott because a) he has absolutely 0 right to advise her on anything and b) because of the history between Scott and Peter. In a way, a relationship with Malia is just another thing tying Scott to someone that’s repeatedly caused harm to him and his friends and was the initial cause for all the pain he’s suffered in the last couple years. I just find this dynamic worth exploring.
Malia/Derek/Peter
The Hales 2.0. Derek and Malia deserve to bond over unwillingly being related to Peter, that scumbag.
Malia/Stiles/Peter
Stiles and Peter are so fun together and Stalia is my jam. Throw in an antagonistic Malia and Peter relationship and they’re entertaining as hell. Much more lighthearted than Malia/Scott/Peter.
Stiles/Malia/Lydia
To clarify, this has nothing to do with a love triangle and everything to do with how their personalities play off each other. It’s one of those trios where together, they’re either terrifying or absolute morons.
Stiles/Cora/Derek
Admittedly, my version of this is very Sterek+Cora and the hilarity of Stiles and his attraction to Hales but it’s also 3x snark and you really can’t go wrong.
Scott/Stiles/Melissa
It’s Melissa and her boys 1.0. This woman is by far the best parent on this show, and I love the specific dynamic among these three. Melissa might not always like Stiles, but she cares about him and there’s the mutual understanding that they both adore Scott and would do anything for him. Also, Mel being exasperated by the dumbass duo is always funny.
Kate/Allison/Chris
Lowkey another custody battle because Kate and Chris do fight to be the bigger influence on Allison This is such a tragic trio to me, and the lesson here is basically that sometimes love isn’t enough. Chris and Kate both genuinely love Allison and she loves them too but can’t have both and at some point, she has neither. Kate and Chris care about each other, but that’s not enough either. In the end, they all lose each other. There’s no happy ending for them, at least not with each other.
Derek/Stiles/Peter
Stiles just has chemistry (not necessarily romantic) with all Hales and this trio really shines through in 3x01 and in S3 in general. “Chess is Stiles’s game” asgdhfjgh. I wanted more of that very specific dynamic.
That was a hell lot longer than I thought it would be, but what can you do. Feel free to tell me your own opinions in the tags/comments.

for fun, what would be your top 5 hargreeves relationships/interactions to see more of in s3?
YES AN ASK THAT’S NOT EMOTIONAL DEVASTATING LET’S GOOOO.
Allison & Five
Five & Allison
Numbers Three and Five
The Rumour & The Boy
Have I mentioned Allison & Five already??
Okay, jokes aside, we deserve to see more of their dynamic, I really liked the few moments we got in Season 1, and they didn’t interact at all in Season 2!!! I just think they’d be the most kickass dynamic, I love the two of them so much and I just think putting them together would just be so entertaining. They’re both ruthless and caring, they are both rational and usually smart, and also the other siblings would not stand a chance under the combined teasing wits of Allison and Five, so it is my top priority relationship that I need to see in Season 3. But here are the 5 that follow and why I want to see them:
Luther & Klaus We only saw them together when Luther was intoxicated and hungover, I think we deserve to see them sober, also because their two chaotic energies deserve to play off each other. Also Tom Hopper and Robert Sheehan both have impeccable comedic timing and chemistry, and I just really want to see them have a storyline next season, I think Luther’s caring nature could really help Klaus with the pain of Ben’s loss/seeing his brother’s emo version right after losing him forever
Five & Ben & Vanya Okay it’s pretty much impossible for us to get this one with OG!Ben, but the high numbers will always be the dynamic that got away for me, I wish we could have seen them together, as kids, as adults, it doesn’t matter. I love Vanya’s relationship with Five and Ben individually, and I think they could have been the best friendship in the show, if we could have seen it.
Diego & Klaus & Luther / Vanya & Allison & Five Okay, this is just purely to indulge me, but listen. Imagine the pure chaos that would come from Klaus, Diego and Luther going off on their own. We already know Klaus and Diego are an ice-cream-truck-disaster-dynamic, and Luther and Diego are a firework that goes off backwards but is still pretty, I just need them all to bro it out and be beautiful messes together. And it comes in tandem with another dynamic I NEED to see, which is Five and his sisters. We already know that he is soft with Vanya, and from the little we’ve seen from Five and Allison, the two of them vibe, and Vanya and Allison are a dreamteam anyway, so I want to see them all together!! Five deserves to hang out with the other Hargreeves with braincells, and Alison and Vanya deserve to reconnect with him. Also they might take over the world in the process. Accidentally. Love my powerful favourite siblings.
Luther & Ben We barely know anything about their relationship!! Luther thought to ask Klaus about Ben’s opinion before they time-travelled, but that’s about it!! Did they like each other?? Did they not?? Please tell me, I want to know!!
Allison & Ben Okay, this one is only below Luther & Ben because we know that Allison misses Ben, meaning that she loved him, in some way, and he pranked her!! What was their relationship, how did she react to the pranks? Did they read together? Another dynamic I wish we knew more about.
Also, bonus round: Top Five Sibling Relationships That We Have Seen Before But Deserve To See More
Allison & Diego & Five: I LOVED their Scooby Gang excursion in Season 1, and the dynamic has so much: Allison and Five teasing Diego?? Allison and Diego snarking at Five?? Semi-functional shenanigans?? Love and care about each other??? Please I need them back.
Diego & Allison: in the lead-up to Season 2, I put them down as my favourite familial dynamic. They’re awesome together, their relationship is the most sibling-y out of all the Hargreeves, in my opinion, and them fighting together?? Awesome, beautiful and also hot, can we have more of this?
Klaus & Diego: I think we all want their dumbassery back, and if I were in charge, I would add Luther for maximum chaos, as said before.
Five & Vanya: I feel like by this point it’s cliché to highlight their relationship, but I love it SO much. The entire thing about Five and Vanya is that it’s two people who are failing to reconnect with someone they used to love, but that someone has grown and changed now. Idk, in the first season, Five easily reconnected with his other siblings, and if it was only through sass, but Five and Vanya are quiet and sad and loving and gentle and I adore them so much.
Vanya & Luther & Diego: I liked their moments this season, but also Vanya had amnesia?? I’d love to see them with non-amnesiac Vanya, I think they could be SO much fun together.
Also bonus to the bonus: The Hargreeves Relationship Nobody But Me Wants To See More Of
Five and Reginald: Five’s relationship with Hargreeves is absolutely fascinating to me because it’s very different from all the other siblings’, especially after Season 2, so I’d love to see them together again

I'm soo conflicted about S2! Personally I only truly enjoyed Klaus and Allison storyline. I love Ellen Page usually but some scenes I found so boring I liked Sissy more than her. They really did Vanya dirty and I hate it so much. Partly I'm happy peolpe liked S2 so we can maybe have a S3 and hopefully give her a better arc but still
I....I think that it was the least integrated anon and removed from the story with Luther’s coming in a close second but his independent story fell off pretty quickly and integrates with the main storyline. But the problem of it being separate from the main apocalypse story would have felt less so if it had been written more strongly and the writers had given it the time it deserved rather than relying on out-dated tropes and storylines. I think TUA often likes to brand itself as being innovative and certainly there are some aspects of it that are very....weird and maybe even fresh but their story/character arc choices aren’t one of them.
I feel like I always harp on this but the character writing in TUA is bad. I think the character/character arc writing was at its height in the first three eps of season 1 where characters had clear motivations and solid characterizations. As the season went on the character writing kind of just got worse. See, characters need to make sense. TUA is a...fantasy/scifi...mishmash of a genre fictive work, that means that they can pull shit like season two’s final twist where they bend the rules they’ve established for time travel but what is less flexible is character writing because for a show like TUA that would be its grounding element. But honestly, it feels as though the writers this season somehow....forgot? about everyone’s character arcs from last season and opted to just have everyone play out the same character crisis as last season? I think the only ppl who’s character arc carried over was maaaaaaaybe....Luther and Allison? but....the decision for Allison to not use her powers anymore happened off-screen in S1 and she ended up using it again anyway, same for this season.....Luther....kiiiiind of has some growth but it happens so suddenly and also off-screen that it’s kind of....hollow.
TUA writers seem to rely A LOT on off-screen character growth or instant character growth. take Klaus and Ben’s relationship at the end of S2. In S1, we are given their dynamic. It's pretty run of the mill, a sort of...play on the buddy cop duo trope. Ben is a mostly responsible and level-headed person who has been chained to an eternal child with self-destructive tendencies. They constantly antagonize one another though they seem to care about each other to some extent but this doesn’t really change in S2. Up until Ben’s departure, Klaus continues to antagonize Ben and insult him and Ben continues to have zero respect for Klaus and his choices and criticize him for his actions. They never really reconcile or change by the time they depart so when Klaus asks Vanya about Ben in the car, the narrative tries to frame it as though its a big emotional moment when just a little while ago they were still throwing petty insults and comments at each other. It doesn’t make sense. It is an unearned emotional beat that rings as....well untrue. The flashback that they had given us that same ep doesn’t really help either because it comes too late and therefore had ZERO effect on the pair’s dynamic throughout their entire relationship. This is poor, unsatisfying writing.
And I could go on for ages about why Vanya’s arc just....really doesn’t work this season. yeah yeah, I know everyone loooooves this new, not-sad Vanya but it is wholly unsatisfying the way she got to that point. It happens instantly. She didn’t grow, she didn’t change. She was brain-damaged and magically all her problems are gone (also I could go on for ages about why this doesn’t work either. trauma lives not just in the brain but in the body. read “the body keeps the score”. its a great book and a very informative read and anyone who wants to write characters who have trauma should read that book). This isn’t growth. It’s an erasure. And some can argue that Vanya is more entertaining now that she’s not bogged down by her trauma and abuse but to that I say 1) fuck you but also 2) she may be more entertaining but she is rendered almost inert this season. There’s no way for her to really continue on her S1 storyline and she isn’t really allotted the time needed to create a new arc for her. Naturally, the arc that should have been hers should have been her figuring out her place within the family. Had her memories survived throughout the season (though they hardly seemed to make a difference once she DID get them back, she showed no fear of using her powers despite remembering that she killed the whole world a few days ago, no hesitance or shame towards her siblings who were complicit in her abuse and oppression but whom she had hurt immensely, why even give her memories back? now they have reset her arc AGAIN!!) this arc would have worked nicely into continuing her S1 arc. Her place in the academy was...arguably the most stable out of all the sibs. Where they all seemed to have vied for the top-dog position, Vanya’s placement rested permanently at the bottom but now that this has been disrupted, there’s a lot of reevaluation that has to be had. But! I digress because this was not Vanya’s arc. Her arc (if you can call it that) was...once again divorced from the main storyline until the end YET AGAIN!
Season 2 was....highly frustrating for me. It seemed to have a higher budget which means the sets were better, the action more elaborate, and it is honestly a beautiful show but the show did very little to improve its issues with storytelling and its writing and that was a real bummer because I am in the extremely bad and unfortunate habit of liking good stories.
Anyway anon, I have gone on FAAAAAR too long and this is a HUGE fucking reply but I hope that at least I didn’t bore you. Have a good one and thanks for the ask <3

mace im sorry i don't have coherent thoughts but i'm so just like,,, what was klaus this season. what was ben. the cult was pointless to klaus' character. the things that matter to klaus' character were ignored. the dave stuff was a lot of nothing. i felt like the possession thing shouldve been huge for ben and klaus' relationship but we're supposed to think klaus feeling violated is funny and inconsequential? ben going to the light was just shoved in at the end? i just---what???? who??
i’m on the same page as you, anony, especially in coherency lmfao
klaus this season was.. not totally bad, but i think most of that can be put on robert for his acting and how well he knows his own character bc the writers clearly didn’t know what was up (or maybe they did and playing him off this season as comedic relief, having him tossed to the side and mistreated, is going to play into s3 somehow. idk. i’m not writing off any possibility because overall the writers have done really really well with everything else so in my soul i feel like there has to be a reason they did what they did to him this season yknow??) for all the jokes they had him making and stuff, i think robert definitely played klaus the way we as fans know him - suffering constantly but unwilling to let anyone actually see that and if they do he’s gonna make it sound like a joke. he’s not gonna act serious because that leads to pain and he’s had more than enough of that. HOWEVER. i am genuinely so so pissed that he didn’t get to fight or really use his powers this season. and the part before ben sacrifices himself where klaus finally got up the courage to try and help, the fact that he didn’t succeed - that it wasn’t klaus who saved the day - is just... sldflksd GOD I HATE IT. oh and the scene towards the end where everyone gets shot and the one remaining swede kills the handler?? THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN KLAUS. he should have come back to life as he does, as is PART OF HIS POWERS, grabbed a gun that he knows how to use well - thank you vietnam - and he should have shot the bitch. but no. we didn’t even get that. vanya got klaus’s levitation and diego got klaus’s telekinesis and klaus got ??? a cowboy hat. which i mean looks good on him and he deserves it but it doesnt make up for *gestures at everything* and tbh even that was tainted because one of the siblings says “50$ if we leave him here” when klaus runs to grab the hat. seriously??!! SERIOUSLY??! it’s not funny, it’s just more of people not caring about klaus and thinking abandoning him is a fun joke to make ANYWAY. onto things you actually mentioned sdlkdsjf;ls i think the cult wasn’t pointless to his character necessarily, i think it did provide something, but it wasn’t used to its fullest extent. we got little things like klaus talking about it making him claustrophobic and making him feel like his skin is on fire, and his followers become something he cant escape even though he desperately wants too - it’s like having the ghosts all over again except he’s sober and these are live people who can touch him. but the show never actually out loud makes that comparison when they should have. i think it would have helped the cult thing seem less random. as for the dave thing.. i don’t think it was a lot of ‘nothing’ but again i think they could have definitely done more with it. it lets klaus see dave again, in a way, and it shows us more about both of them and the relationship they had. we learn more about dave, who he is, the kind of people he had around him and the environment he grew up in. it shows us that klaus and dave talked about all kinds of things, nothing was too mundane or unimportant. it shows us that three years after dave’s death klaus is still grieving and is still 100% in love. and it shows us that klaus isn’t always as selfish as people assume right alongside another hit to the face (oof unintentional wording) of just how much he loved dave. he wanted to save dave’s life so badly he made a fool of himself, put up with homophobia, took a hit to the face, and still kept trying to stop him from enlisting even though, per the last timeline, it would mean they’d never meet. klaus is willing to have dave never know him, is willing to handle that pain and heartbreak pretty much forever, as long as dave lives. my heart literally cannot handle it the possession thing. i haven’t stopped being angry and uncomfortable and disgusted by it since i saw it like 2 days ago now. that plot the writers really fucked up on it was a big thing for their relationship but not in any way that lead to growth or understanding or power control or ANYTHING. i love ben but i have so many fucking problems with him after watching s2 that i almost wanna take my love back tbh. the writers tried to make it seem like what ben was doing was okay - because he was angry and frustrated with klaus, because klaus wasn’t doing what he wanted, because klaus couldn’t stay sober, etc. like any of that makes possessing someone without their consent okay... or threatening to possess someone the moment their guard is down (leaving klaus paranoid and afraid to sleep).. or getting permission to possess someone and then refusing to leave (and its double garbage when diego encourages ben to continue possessing klaus. diego’s reason was gross and even if he hadnt given a reason he was still encouraging ben to not give klaus’s body back to him. which like.. im sure klaus can see and hear what’s going on. so he now is aware that his brother would rather have ben-wearing-klaus than actual klaus. the amount that would fucking hurt. a nyway) klaus never really got to talk about how it made him feel, not in any situation where anyone was listening. he never got to go off on ben for what he did, and what he was about to do, even though he had every right to. ben kind of knew how klaus felt about it but he showed very clearly that he didnt care. ben just did not fucking care about klaus this season. and it wasnt a ‘tough love’ thing like they tried to do in s1. it was just horrible and it hurt to watch. and i feel like s2 ben wouldnt have apologized to klaus even if he had been seriously confronted. we now know that klaus has this power. and we know that it can easily be abused by someone else. and i feel like that could tie into his ability to make the ghosts corporeal and such. it could definitely work as an interesting lead into exploring more of his many powers. and it could have worked as a way to bring ben and klaus closer without anyone getting hurt or violated. but.. for s2.. it wasnt used that way. it was used as a way to degrade and humiliate klaus. and they clearly wanted us to find it funny. it was one of the least funny things to happen all season. actually probably THE least funny thing. right along with nobody giving a shit when they thought klaus was having a seizure or OD-ing (both during their meeting with reginald and in the alley when they were supposed to meet up to use the briefcase five got from the handler), AND OF COURSE  nobody taking klaus seriously, paying attention to him, or caring about him (except for allison at some points) and ben finally going into the light at the end..  was kind of shoved in?? but i think what made it feel that way, for me at least, wasn’t so much the placement or timing of it but that it wasn’t really acknowledged afterwards?? it just.. happened, and we were all heartbroken, and on screen... nothing. it felt like a very sudden end to his storyline and yeah they could have done a little more to make it feel like a natural end for him thanks for the ask and sharing your thoughts on s2 with me~!! <3

Reaction umbrella academy. Ep 10, s1:
- looks like reggie is a time traveler. But with his wife was he in the past or future???????
- GLAD LUTHER TRIED TO APOLOGIZE TO POGO. AS YOU SHOULD.
- I understand possessed vanya destroying the rooms she felt excluded from, but tell me a memory of luke and allison doing unplatonic things trigger you??? Girl who wants to cockblock. If anything the usual reaction is to go “shit sorry” and then leave😭 i just feel like that’s an odd memory to trigger her. Felt more like a reminder of allison and luther’s feelings going on since they were young, than something that upset vanya.
- god I understand she was possessed sort of and not in control but how she murdered pogo? Even if i can like her and all she can never be my fave. That was horrible. Him and Grace were the only love she got as a child. To murder him like that and watch him as he struggles with his last breaths?? Awful. Im glad his death was emotional and luther was hurt. An emotional scene is what pogo deserved :(
- mom’s moment is heartbreaking too.
- uhm.... can we just take a moment to realize this is all happening because five left for like 30 minutes?? Sjfjdjf literally nothing would have happened if he had stayed. I just KNOW he would have called them dumb for locking vanya and talked to her himself bc her demons talked to her.
- WHY DO THEY ALWAYS ASSUME KLAUS IS LYING HIS POWER IS LITERALLY THE DEAD HOW DOES THAT NO MAKE SENSE U STUPID FUCKS. HE DIDNT LIE ABOUTUR DAD EITHER WHH WOULD HE LIE ABOUT THIS
- damn fuck you got me. I started the show bc i saw a fun edit of s2. Ik allison finds a husband and loves him very much, but fuck im rooting for her and luther to end up together a little?????? They just have a bond sjdjdjd i hate the writers for this they really should have just had a strong sibling bond but here we are :/
- respect to hazel for that cha-cha has me tired. Has anyone had the conversation that from the only black women in the show the dark skin one is the insufferable one?? No?? We still waitong on that!? Would have literally made more sense to have her be in the position of hazel and hazel be the sort of power hungry one. I dont even blame the show, Netflix just had such bad reputation with dark skin female characters. Still glad cha-cha got fucked tho sjdjdjf
- why is diego on luther’s ass about a plan and being a leader as if he wasn’t just as bad lmaoooo. Y’all don’t function unless is under five or allison’s instructions sir pls sit tf down you BOTH useless.
- IS THAT THE COMMISSION?? GOD I HATE THEM
- PLS AGNES MUST BE SO CONFUSED SEEING THE LITTLE BOY HAVE THIS MUCH AUTHORITY WITH THIS OLD ASS DANGEROUS WOMAM SHDJD
- five is literally the only one that ever makes sense. However the one thing he lacks is communication. He keeps wanting to save everyone on his own and keeps leaving them in the dark. Had he told them earlier of apocalypse with vanya there this wouldn’t happen. Had he told them more about everything he wouldn’t be pulled away so easily. He gotta work on not thinking himself as the one carrying everyone and rely on them more. Altho i agree with him that he is the smartest. The others getting angry at that is dumb. He is 58 anyways and all he had to do for decades was read books. So that’s a given.
- i was gonna say thank you luther but never mind. WHY ARE MAN SO DUMB LET ALLISON DO IT DAMN IT.
- damn it agnes she really is an angel “everyone has a past” god i love her
- also i wanted five to kill the handler im a little :/
- men ruined it. Couldn’t let vanya have this. After all the shit, i like vanya more than luther and diego. I don’t dislike them BUT THEY NEVER FUCKINF LISTEN.
- OKAY HOLD UP THE FINALE WAS A LOT OKAY.
- im soso glad hazel and agnes made it and escaped. Agnes deserves the world thank u for coming to my ted talk
- i can see why allison in s2, being separated and not knowing if luther is alive AND having him constantly ignore her bc “he knows better” caused her to marry someone else later and offer him to go with her. I honestly do like luther and allison and they prob will be endgame, but he has to learn to listen to her and know they can protect each other and is not always him protecting her. He has to get the “but im the leader” bs out of his head to make it work with her. Which im guessing will happen in s3 later on anyways.
- if only they listened to FUCKING ALLISON
- i wonder if allison had just like,,,, hugged vanya instead of scaring her with the gunshot the apocalypse wouldn’t happen????
- i see they aren’t escaping but rather five has a plan to run away and just start again in order to solve it. Makes sense.
- YES KLAUS U GO BABY AND BEN!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THEY DESERVE!!!!!
- glad cha-cha died goodness gracious
- i liked that the children appear on the last shot of the circle. If only andy mustard ugly ass would have taken notes for It Chapter 2 BUT I DIGRESS
Overall good season good show. I liked it. I like all characters but top 3 are def allison, five, and klaus. And ben. So top 4 bc ben is a puppy who i will always love a treasure. Hope we keep seeing klaus’ powers grow too.

Episode 2x05 - The Moon and the Star
AKA: How Do I Pick Just 4 GIFS.
Answer: I don’t.
1) Okay. This scene. I really can’t add anything that BB’s amazing acting hasn’t already portrayed. Mitch is devastated. For all of his knowledge and his absolute faith in science, there’s nothing he can do to save his friend. Helplessness is one of his biggest fears, and here it is in full force stealing something he cares about.
2) Ugh. Can we just all vote to drop kick Allison off the plane now? No? Fine. Mitch is like 1000% percent done with her five seconds after she steps on the plane, and I don’t blame him (knowing what we now know about her). His abrupt “You can keep your stupid plane, we’ll find another way to get to Jamie” was amazing. Dariela’s “What he said” was the icing on the cake. Girl can read people, is all I’m saying.
3) Jamie’s disillusionment with the human race began before this, but I’m pretty sure this was the nail in the coffin. We see it in the next episode, when she’s talking with Allison about “animals.” Hint: she’s not talking about the bears.
4) Okay, girl, I love you but this was a little cold. Those first 2 deaths were self-defense or defense of a friend. This was straight up homicide by polar bear. Of course, Gwen was a pretty horrible person and if anyone deserved a mauling it was her, but that face is just...it’s not even vengeance. It’s malice, and Jamie is done with playing nice. It makes the S3 comments about darkness all the more poignant. Also, the Journalist Kill Count is officially at 3.
5-7) I made all 3 larger because THE ALPHA SHIP IS FINALLY BACK Y’ALL. Though we can’t hear it because of the direction of the scene to be all music and no dialogue, you can clearly see her mouth form the words “What took you so long.” Like, really? I see the sass tank is still full. Mitch’s relief is palpable, and the way he just grabs her and pulls her to him is The Best™.  The relief isn’t one sided though, which you can clearly see on her face as she turns her head and hugs him back.

tua season 2 spoilers
i finished the season last night and i need to write some things down ugh...
i’m upset that we were given sissy and harlan and then...nothing? carl is dead, they’re staying behind in the 60s, and more than likely sissy still isn’t going to ever end up with a woman.
how did they go the entire season without once acknowledging words like lesbian or bisexual or homosexual or gay when talking about sissy/vanya? klaus’ storyline with dave gets to use words. instead vanya gets to reference “what i am isn’t a disease” and that’s basically it. can we PLEASE get a show that doesn’t treat same-sex relationships with women like they don’t even deserve words to describe them?
please...let vanya say Lesbian. or bisexual depending on what they make her
in season 3 i really want vanya and allison to go find ray/sissy if they’re still alive. it’s not ridiculous that they still would be! i’m not sure they’re even the same because of the differences in the s3 timeline with the sparrow academy but i would LOVE it if they did remember
ray/allison was really cute and i was relieved that she got a love interest who treated her well and, most importantly, WAS NOT HER BROTHER. also upset that he got left behind. i’m glad he won’t be on the hook for the swede’s death though.
if luther/allison keeps being a thing in season 3 i will rip apart this show with my bare hands.
i loved lila but hated the reveal that she was one of the ‘89 kids. not because i hate the concept (i’ve wanted to see more of the kids and find out if they also have powers) but the reveal was fumbled, let’s be real...
also she was given zero time to process that she’s one of the kids. no time to process that she could have a family who loves her. that should have been given more time and care this season.
a lot of screentime was devoted to discussing dynamics, which was great but sometimes painful because nothing else was happening
thank god ben had more things going on and will be in season 3. s2 confirmed that he is the only sibling with any reason. i love that for him!
would love klaus’ character to stop being “degenerate funny man who likes sex and drugs.” give him some more development, cowards. his season 1 development was really enjoyable to me, but season 2 felt like a giant step back in every way.
i loved baby pogo and would die for him. THAT PAJAMAS PICTURE
i hate reginald hargreeves with every fiber of my being. what a disgusting little man!!! i know he’s literally an alien but that doesn’t excuse making an idealized obedient housewife version of your competent scientist girlfriend. what is wrong with you??
allison with bangs...pretty
i think it’s VERY funny that jfk died anyway and really had no relevance to the plot
the music was spot-on this season
dot and herb are the best characters of this show hands down

happy wednesday and day 3 of stydia positivity project! i can't believe it's already wednesday like sunday is coming up too fast omg! today's question: what are some of your favorite headcanons? i really love the idea of them skyping every night while they are away at college and going to visit each other at their respective schools because it's what they deserve after the mess that is beacon hills! :)
hey!!! omg I love that headcanon I totally see that too I feel like even though we haven’t seen any calls or texts this season (so bitter) they’re totally talking all the time. I’ve always had this idea that in the summer between s2 and s3, lydia would end up tagging along when scott and stiles hung out. they all seemed to be so much closer in the s3 premiere than they were before and on much friendlier more casual terms. since jackson was in London and allison was in France I feel like lydia would sometimes just invite herself over to stiles’s (and scott’s) house so by the end of the summer they would be actively hanging out and that’s why the group feels so much tight knit in the next season. yeah lol hope the rest of your day goes well!

Before the evil five thing was revealed I had this idea that in S3 Five wouldn't be the one driving the plot fowards anymore since there was no impending Apocalypse (and it would switch maybe to Allison who would be eager to get the timeline fixed to see her daughter) (for all of Five's life his main and only goal was to stop the Apocalypse, i'm curious to see how he acts without one) Does he becone apathetic towards everything?
Does he switch goals cause he wouldn't work as a character or person without one? (Maybe thats one of the reasons that they had Five inmediatly land in another Apocalypse at the start of S2. I mean, what would Five had done if he was stuck in the 60s with no Apocalypse to solve and time to waste?) At the start of S1 we see the rest of the Hargreeves lives, what their lives look like once out of the UA (kinda), but how would've Five's life look like?
I really like the conversation he has with Hazel near the end of S1, that without an Apocalypse to prevent now he has time to "grow up". (Sorry i just send u three anons which started as a S3 speculation (?maybe) and ended in... sth else) (You can interpret this either as where would you take the story or what do you think the writers would go) Anyways, i would love to know your opinion on this, ❤️ Take care!
Anon, this was killing me, I started out writing an answer and every subsequent ask abruptly changed direction, so I hope the following makes some sense.
I think the idea that Allison drives the plot in Season 3 to get Claire back is amazing, and I hope they’re going there, she deserves to take center stage. Also I wouldn’t give too much to the Evil Five theory (yet), we don’t even have a confirmed third season. But I honestly can’t really answer how Five acts without an impending apocalypse, because we don’t know. I will hazard the guess that Five is not going to be apathetic in Season 3 (or only apathetic because he’s overwhelmed), at least not the way Season 3 is set up currently, because currently, a lot of their dilemma is still Five’s fault. He insisted on talking to Reginald, like a dumbass, and he hardcore underestimated the effect Reginald would have on his siblings. Also, if we consider the time travel logic set up during the paradox psychosis plot cul-de-sac, the existence of the Sparrows literally erased the existence of the Umbrella kids, so they will disappear from the timeline because they never existed in it, so I’m on tenterhooks on how that’ll either a) play out or b) be retconned. I think, either way, Five will still be somehow integral to the plot driving because he is the one who knows about and understands time travel. And, again, this time, it is his fault, so I think he’s going to try and make it right. Or nope the fuck out of his responsibilities because so far, he’s been excellent at being his own worst enemy and making things worse for everyone, including himself.
I think the conversation with Hazel is very indicative of who Five is and what he is not. He’s almost sixty, but he has never really lived. He has survived. He had to grow up in an instant, and figure out how to live on an earth that was scorched. And then he got thrown into his first career after he turned fifty, which was just about killing other people. Five is more familiar with death than with life, and it shows pretty much in the everything about him. He has no social skills, his family, whom he loves, thinks he’s an asshole, and he just. Has never known peace, and he doesn’t know how to deal with it. He is right, he needs to grow up, in the sense that he needs to develop into someone better adjusted, be the person he never had the chance to be. I don’t know if we’ll ever see this, because he would need some peace and quiet to do that, and the plot of the Umbrella Academy usually doesn’t give him that. But everything is open for Five, he could start anew in any way, it’s all open for him, because he is the only one of the Hargreeves who didn’t have a life to go back to.
I hope this is somehow what you were looking for, take care too 💖💖
