kate hides A LOT of trauma. i think a lot of people think about the 'rich girl' thing (which is valid, kate is spoiled) but forget about just how much trauma she holds deep down. the death of a parent (mother in comics - until she wasn't but we're not talking about that today, and father in the mcu), the assault in the park, the neglect from the parent who was alive who buried themselves in work and ignored their child often because she reminded them of their lost spouse. and i've spoken about this a little more on this blog but, she holds that trauma and decides she's going to protect everyone else, and do EVERYTHING she can to protect everyone else (not her, but everyone else). and this is why i love kate bishop and she makes me emotional.

forget all the stuff that may or may not be in the movie (which I have not seen), I am still mourning TLAT not being a solo Thor adventure that more closely follows the Gorr the God Butcher arc in the comics because come on, post-Endgame (and Phase 4!) is the perfect time for an Emotionally Lost Thor Finding Himself By Having To Team Up With Versions Of Himself From Other Points In The Timeline story.

Why am I suddenly getting a ton of Wanda hate discourse on my dash?
I don't care if you see her as a villain or a misunderstood hero. The answer will always be "the MCU fucked her over so hard she's non-existent to her counter part and created a harsh divide in a fandom where there shouldn't be one "

im going through a very heartbreaking thing rn and theres no way to explain it without seeming deranged.
#lasi.txt#so basically: followers of this blog will know that i like the young avengers#you may also recall that theyve been living in my brain for around 2 years now#that is the topic of this post: my daydreaming#the version of the young avengers in my brain was created on purpose i think. it was supposed to be a mcu version of the ya#because i started daydreaming about them when wandavision released and i learned about tommy and billy#the original version of this was very embarassing. notes on it live in my notion. the lineup included harvey keener and many champions.#in the past 2 years that 'storyline' has remained: everything going up in my brain is a show#there are 2 seasons where season 2 is divided into A and B and there is a movie#but also i imagined so much with my lineup. thats where my daydreaming kicks in.#my characters went through everything i went through in the past 2 but as actors in their show#in doing so they became entirely different characters and little versions of me. and theyve been with me. for two. full. years.#this isnt out of the ordinary to me. before this i have 3 different daydream stories that all stuck with me for months#these are constant daydreams. im always thinking of the same little people for months at a time.#but recently a new story has taken over. its a new story im developing#i like thinking about this new story a bunch but one day i realized that i wasnt thinking about the young avengers#something about that shattered my soul inside. these characters that live inside my brain that i will never write anything with are ME.#i dont want to lose them. but this is just a natural process that my own brain.#but i dont want to move on all of a sudden. there is so much that happened in my head with the young avengers#im fighting my own brain trying to bring back things my brain itself made but that my brain itself is trying to take away#i will probably think about the jewel guard (new story) for a few months if not years. but god..#and im not thinking of them anymore and i keep trying to and i just cant. im losing them#the feeling of my characters (that are not even mine) being taken away makes me want to throw up#these characters were ME. i gave them EVERYTHING. i gave them my fears and they turned them into confidence.#and let me remind you: this is all in my own brain.#goddddd. this is why the base text of this post is what it is cuz i really do sound crazy omg#there really is no way to explain all of this without sounding crazy

i am going to be so controversial right now but i think episode 1 of the loki series might just be my favourite simply because the premise of the first episode was so promising. in fact, critically analysing the show, the theme of loki having had to outrun the title of villainy and yet not quite folding into the mold of a hero would have been so outrageously gorgeous to explore. people praise agent of asgard, and honestly, i don’t see that much of a difference between what the loki series wanted to do vs. what has been written — until the writers of the series completely forgot what it was that made loki so appealing in the first place (his ambiguous alignment and his overall morally grey character), and many heavier themes are sacrificed for a warped romantic story that hadn’t needed to be told in the first place
#i am once again back on my bullshit because i think the idea that self love#needed to be visualised the way it had been with the whole s*lvie and l*ki is so unnecessary#because there are TONS of movies and stories out there#about individuals struggling with self-acceptance and self-love#and they react in such a questionable or damaging ways#that would've been so fun to explore in l*ki's perspective#from loki's questionable character#like coming out of age-ish genre?? would've been so fun to infuse#even if tom is already well in his 40s#because what if the discovery of sense of self if not you feeling too young and too old in your own skin#and thinking about it now... s*lvie's character would've been such a nice contrast#of a l*ki who has went too rogue; too deep-set in her revenge to come back#vs. this l*ki whom after the invasion of new york is still particularly new from the wounds#we know he carried in the mcu since hasn't experienced it yet; not by himself#like i could go on and on#people are so insistent that s*lvie is her own character#which is fine! but u have to understand she too is a l*ki and i wish she would've written more with that in mind#because l*kis are so interesting to explore in and of itself; in whatever version they existed with or upon#like im not sure if im making sense but ..... i just wish people care more to explore character study when they say they want to#anyways ep 2 shouldve been my fave cause of mobius' gorgeous gorgeous involvement#but ep 1 is so chef's kiss... i love the potential.#that would for sure be my favourite#gen: out of character.

Miguel has been watching over you, different variants of you in every dimension you are including photos videos on his monitor(s), except he hadn't seen the other prowler version of you though?
while you were in a serious situation of running away from the soldiers holding their guns, shooting, chasing after you while you were running, dodging and parkour crates and in every things thats in your way,no one knows who you are, your identity is anonymous everybody in your city have heard the prowler but never know who you really are..are you a villain? A hero? Nah your just a vigilante that's it. you manage to outrun the men but suddenly you see a random portal that just sucks into you,you tried using your claws stick through the wall to stop you from going in but the pressure is too strong, you were suck into this portal now you went somewhere, you don't belong.
Now you were still wearing your mask, gear, and removed it looking around this city,it looks like yours but not yours
when lyla announced a anomaly on the loose and showing photos/pictures,videos on holo of the anamoly from lyla and this time seeing your face unmasked its you..
After few moments Miguel finally captured you, Impressed by your ability to match his strength like other variant prowlers, he never intended to harm you but you were so stubborn get out his grip kept fighting back which caused intense adrenaline scene of you two fighting. He placed you trapped in a hologram cell, and you seeing anomalies in their enclosure, you were told being instructed to stay there for weeks until it was your turn the the"go home machine."
Eventually Miguel made up his mind and decided for the best work with him means spend time with him and gets you out the cell,
You agreed since you had no choice just work with him and the others you only agreed because you never wanted go back to your world. Your city, the generous rich isolated from external influences and leave the poor to fend themselves, lead to rampant crime, corrupted, and disease slowly polluting your city. Getting away from this hellhole.
And few weeks eventually getting along with Miguel helping throughout missions getting along with others—however sometimes he doesn't let you talk to others only if you had long conversation made him felt jealous, angry and its stupid for himself, and had told you stay away and never be friends with. he'll make exception to aaron davis(prowler MCU) since you two get along well
he's gets sometimes angry but not you like example the scene of miles meeting miguel literally yelling at him blah blah blah..you interrupted coming from miles and gwen behind and you needed and helped with
Also yes he may have watch many different variants of you on his monitor admiring watching you making sure your always here but never told how he feels towards you, when he met prowler!you and doesn't tell them either and he'll make sure that he always loves you in every universe makes you his.

Fighting for good, one widow bite at the time: Black Widow's cultural impact
Tumblr media
Critics scoff when I call the Black Widow movie a favorite, but hear me out. It deserved a better release window, maybe at an earlier time, when things would've been viewed differently. Sure, it doesn't rise up what it could've been, leaving so much lingering dreams in the hearts of us, fans. So much potential remains untapped, so many questions unanswered... but Natasha Romanoff? She rises above it all. If you doubt her power, think again, and as I said, hear me out.
Black Widow, the assasin with steely eyes that hide and protect a heart of gold, has transcended the screen to become a cultural icon. From her first appereance in the MCU in Iron Man 2 (2010) to Black Widow (2021), she truly went through a lot, took us with her, and thaught everyone some lessons on the way.
Shattering the mold of the damsel in distress: She's no sidekick, she's a strategist and a fierce fighter. She is a vital member of the Avengers, that's a fact we saw in the 2012 movie. After all, how many characters can you name that tricked the God of Mischief? Nat didn't only do it exceptionally, she is the first we saw doing this on screen.
Reclaiming Narrative: Unlike many superheroes defined by singular origins, Black Widow carried the trauma of a dark past, manipulated by the Red Room, a notorious spy program. Her movie explored this narrative, acknowledging the exploitation and abuse she endured. This resonated with survivors of violence and abuse, offering validation and representation. Her journey of breaking free from her past resonated on a broader level, highlighting themes of resilience, empowerment, and overcoming hardship. Furthermore, she hasn't always been a hero, an avenger. "Regimes fall everyday. I tend not to weep over that, I'm russian" and "I've got red in my ledger. I'd like to wipe it out" show how she's not just using the power she already has, but has the power to change as well. This isn't about brute force, it's about internal struggle and choosing to become a better version of herself despite her history.
Sisterhood and Solidarity: Black Widow's story wasn't solely focused on herself. In "Black Widow," she teams up with other women who share similar experience, even if at first this doesn't seem to work, indoctrinated as they are in the Red Room programme. This depiction of female solidarity resonated with audiences, particularly feminist movements advocating for women's support networks and collective action.
Representation Matters: Black Widow's portrayal as a skilled leader and strategist challenged existing portrayals of Russian characters in Hollywood. They are often depicted as villains or stereotypes, but her complex identity sparked conversations about diversity and representation within the superhero genre.
Defying stereotypes: As the sole original female Avenger, Black Widow carried a unique weight. She didn't need superpowers or a revealing suit — her determination and arsenal spoke for themselves. That's true power. I mean, in some situations she only had two cool firearms, but did better than Captain America with a vibranium shield! I also love how her costume evolved over time, prioritizing functionality over sexualization. Ditching the impractical neckline in her solo movie? A much-needed win! It shows that Black Widow commands respect through her actions, not her body.
Her impact and importance punches like her combat skills, if you ask me.
So, the next time you see the Black Widow, remember, she's more than just a character. She's a symbol of strength, resilience, and the unwavering human spirit. Thanks for being a constant source of inspiration, Nat ❣️

“I’m not jealous! It’s just… you’re mine!” with peter parker, please? he's the one saying it! thank you in advance! 🫶🏻
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader Rating || Genres || Warnings: T. Romance. Use of a curse word but that's it. A/N: So.......since there was no specification to which version of Peter we're talking about, I thought this fit the MCU Peter Parker more, so I hope thats alright!
Tumblr media
"Well! I'd say that was a successful block party!" You stated happily as you entered the apartment you shared with your boyfriend. "We also probably gave Mrs Harris a heart attack by flaunting our relationship so openly." You chuckled as you referred to a resident living in your building who didn't think it was proper for a young lady to be living with a man when they were not married.
Peter gave a small smile, moving to put some leftovers you had gotten from the block party onto the small dining table you shared. You pulled off your shoes and sighed as you sank into the couch, glad to be off your feet. "Everything went off without a hitch, and I'm so glad I signed up for being in charge of the activities for the kids. They were a blast."
As part of the block party, you had contributed by making different fun activities for the younger kids to do while their parents went off to take a little time to themselves and enjoy the party as well. All day long you had entertained kids ranging from the age of five till twelve. You had been yanked in a hundred different directions by them the entire day, yet you didn't mind it. Playing with kids always brought you joy.
"You know? I'm thinking of signing up as a volunteer at the kindergarten nearby, it was so fun being around kids." You mused as Peter came to sit beside you. Turning your gaze to your boyfriend you gave a grin. "What do you think?"
You waited eagerly for his reply.
"Sure, if thats what you want." He said flatly with a shrug of his shoulders.
You blinked.
That was certainly not the response you had been expecting.
"Is everything alright Peter?" You asked, shifting slightly so you were sitting next to him, a hand on his shoulder.
"Everything's fine." He replied before pursing his lips tightly, as if physically stopping himself from saying anything further.
You shook your head. "No. Something is wrong. You've been acting weird all day."
"Oh so now you notice?!" You were taken aback at the sharp retort. Deciding to take the more patient route, one that you had adopted for the entire day given how you had been dealing with children you spoke in a soft tone. "What do you mean?"
Peter looked like he wanted to keep quiet, but with a small nod you hoped to encourage him to go on.
"Today was the one day we were supposed to hang out. Do stuff together and just spend time. And I was really looking forward to it since we've both been so busy the past couple weeks. But you spent the entire day on duty, after you said it would only be half a day. You spent the entire day playing with the kids and we didn't get to spend any time together."
He was breathing deeply by the time he had finished ranting.
Your mouth parted, your mind feeling a little fuzzy as you tried your best to catch up with what he had just said. Finally it all clicked into place and a wide smile of disbelief pulled at your lips.
"Oh my god! Peter! Were you jealous?!" You exclaimed, already feeling a giggle bubble in your chest, but you quickly pushed it down, not wanting to embarrass him further.
His cheeks were already turning red and panic shone in his eyes as he turned away from you. "I wasn't jealous!" He denied, crossing his arms over his chest and.....pouting.
Oh good Lord, he was pouting!
He looked so adorable.
"So let me see if I have this right, you, Peter Parker, Spiderman, savior of New York, are jealous of a bunch of kids because I gave them my attention for a day?" You asked hoping you would clarify the situation further. And also because you wanted to tease him about it.
As you spoke he suddenly stood, walking a few paces away before turning around to glare at you. "I'm not jealous." He stated, though the lack of conviction in his tone wouldn't fool anybody. "Its just....." He trailed off and looked as if he were struggling to find the words to say what he felt.
"You're mine."
A beat of silence which was broken by a sound that was a cross between a squeal and a giggle as you practically threw yourself in your boyfriend's arms. It was a true testament to his strength that he was able to catch you. He hardly had any time to recover from your sudden leap when you began to shower his face with kisses.
"You are so fucking adorable!" You emphasized each word with a loud smooch. You pulled back, laughing at the absolute dumbstruck look on his face, and the impressions of your lips that you had left behind. You had been wearing a slightly darker lipstick that you had kept reapplying throughout the day. He gave you a drunken smile at your sudden display of affection.
"I'm sorry if you felt neglected today." You said, arms wrapped around him. "How about I promise that you have my undivided attention for the next-" You glanced at the nearby clock. "Forty eight hours? I mean we have the whole weekend in front of us."
Peter seemed to have recovered from your affectionate attack as he hummed in contemplation. "Only if I get to choose the activities we'll be doing. I'm sure you're done with planning after today." He offered, a playful gleam in his eyes.
You grinned. "Deal."
To seal the little pact, you tilted your head back and kissed his lips, smiling as you felt him lean your entire body against yours, making you stumble back into the couch. Your body hit the soft cushions with a thump, but you barely noticed as you pulled Peter down with you, eager to sink into his embrace.
"All mine?" He whispered against your lips, before moving to trail down hot quick kisses along the curve of your neck.
"All yours." You whispered in a breathy tone as you felt the first buttons of your blouse come undone.
It was going to be a long night, yet you wouldn't have it any other way.

Tumblr media
One Year.
The second most difficult day of your life. The first anniversary of the snap. Looking up, you read his name over again. ‘James Buchanan Barnes’. You made your way down to Brooklyn late afternoon, you had been to see the ‘Wall of the Vanished’ that has now been built in every city & county to memorialize the Vanished. Earlier that morning, you made your way to Manhattan and Queens to visit both Vision’s and Peter’s names.
~
The decision of the order had already been made for you before you left the compound. You saw Peter almost every morning before he vanished, whether it be a quick FaceTime before he left for school to ‘double-check’ his homework or get an update for any missions he might be assigned to. He never missed a day. Now, you weren’t going to either. 7:30 AM on the dot, you found his name. Right next to his Aunt May’s.
“Hey Kid,” Whispering as you looked around to see if anyone noticed you, literally talking to a wall. It wasn’t busy at this time, only a few friends and family members of the vanished were wandering around the names. Not a single one noticed you were there. “Can you believe it’s been a whole year since you went to space?” Smiling, you imagined how excited he would have felt once it hit him that he was actually in space. “Would have been cool if you came back though,” you began tracing over his name, memorizing the engraving. “I shouldn’t have listened. I should have been up there with you. If I had been,” Pausing to take a breath, you start to shake your head.
Stop. You think to yourself. Remembering you can’t change the past, no amount of wishful thinking or what ifs will bring them back. Yet, ever since your dad told you about how close they were to getting the gauntlet off Thanos, you haven’t helped but wonder. Maybe with an extra pair of hands, they would have got it off.
~
Before you knew it, the public was flooding around the walls. It was almost midday. Still, two counties to go. You did the same when you found ‘The Vision’ engraved into the stone in Manhattan, only this time, his name wasn’t among ‘The Vanished’. His name was registered as a ‘Fallen Hero’. Tracing his name, just like you had with Peter’s, you told him you missed and loved him. Wished he was still here. Regretted wasting time, over a silly government paper instead of standing strong as siblings, while he was here. And, of course, beat yourself up for still being here instead of him.
“You would’ve helped a lot more people than I ever can,” You spoke once again to a literal slab of stone. “I should have stayed in that room with you, I should never have stayed on the field. You needed me and I wasn’t there. Some big sister, huh?”
Stopping yourself again, you reminded yourself of a time when you’d hear his voice in the earpiece of your first-ever suit. Telling you specs, reminding you to speak nicer to yourself when you weren’t getting it first try. Back when he was known as Jarvis and wasn’t entirely Vision.
You stood in silence for the remainder of your time in Manhattan. Nothing you had to say wasn’t something Vis didn’t already know. Just being there, was enough and you hoped that somehow he knew.
~
You couldn’t speak the whole time you stood staring at his name. There was no ‘what ifs’ or tracing his name. Anger, denial. You could feel yourself taking steps back in your grief process. No, if you stayed or if you went. You knew when it came to Bucky, there was no other option. No other way to change the story. If you had changed anything with Peter or Vision, Bucky would still be here. But you didn’t.
It was starting to get dark and more people were beginning to leave. For the first time that day, you allowed yourself to cry. No scenario you thought of would have allowed you to both fight by his side and allow him to survive. All you had was regret, regret for keeping him a secret. Regret for not visiting Wakanda as much as you should have. Regret not telling him more often how much love you had for him.
Surrounded by Goats.
“How did Tony take it? You know finding out about us being, well, us?” He questioned as he looked out to the Wakandian water, your head resting on his lap while you read. Sighing, you put your book on the picnic blanket and rested on your knees. His fingers brushed a stray strand of hair back behind your ear as you looked away from his face and toward where once hung his mechanical arm.
“He doesn’t know.” Playing with a loose thread on his sling as you whispered the confession to him. Desperately trying to look up at his face, fear of his disapproval and hurt for keeping him a secret.
“What? Wait, you haven’t told him?” Bucky cupped your face with his hand, moving you to look at him. “Where does he think you are?” Realising it was panic in his voice and not hurt or upset, you move your hands around, gesturing towards Wakanda. “Why does he think you’re here?” He then rose to his feet, you rushed to join him.
“I told him I’ve been coming here to meet up with Shuri,” You smiled remembering how grateful you were to T’Challa for opening Wakanda to the world, not only helping provide resources to other countries but also for giving you an excuse to tell your dad. “We’ve been working on a tech thing,” you move your hand over Bucky’s armless shoulder. “Which, isn’t a lie.” His hand found its way to your lower back, pulling you closer to him as you fidgeted once again with the loose thread on his sling. Dropping his head, his forehead rested against yours. Your breathing was now in sync.
“You just left out the part about sleeping in a hut, surrounded by goats, with an armless 100-year-old man?” He whispered the secret so quietly, you were barely able to hear him yourself. Smiling, you nodded, your noses brushing against each other as you did.
“I left out the part about sleeping in a hut, surrounded by goats, with the man I’m truly, madly, deeply in love with.” Your whisper was just as quiet as his, so quiet it took you both a second to realize what you said. It was the first time, neither of you had said that four-letter word to each other. Once you had a second to think, you opened your mouth to speak. You wanted to take it back, fear crept in of him not saying it back to you or worse. Before you could do one single thing, his lips were pressed against yours. His hand had moved from your lower back to your cheek, rubbing his thumb against it as he tried to pull your mouth closer.
“I have been alive for 100 years, I have seen every type of love this world has to offer. But Doll, there’s nothing in this universe that could compare to the love I feel for you.”
It Still Wants Him.
“I lost a lot of loved ones,” you sighed as you looked around the small circle of group members attending today. “I lost a lot of friends, co-workers, and my brothers. I thought I had lost my dad at first, and I also lost the love of my life.” You hadn’t realised your dad was standing in the shadows of the entrance. His head was down as he listened to his child heartbroken over loss. The one life experience he couldn’t protect you from or heal. He wanted to see how your idea was working out, he wanted to see how you were helping people while you have not yet been helped.
He was shocked to hear you say “love of your life.” He racked his brain on who you could be talking about, as far as he was aware, you didn’t care about romantic relationships. The others in the group knew who you were, and knew you lost friends, family, co-workers, and brothers. Yet, they too were just as confused as your dad had been to learn this information. They had never seen you in any tabloids concerning romance. Surprisingly considering who raised you.
They were asking all the same questions your dad was thinking. “What was their name?” “When did you know they had disappeared?”
“His name was James,” No, your dad thought, it can’t be. “Everyone knew him as Bucky, but, he liked it when I called him James.” He stared at you through the shadows, debating if he should storm in and demand to know the truth. He didn’t need to, you carried on speaking. Freely, opening up about it all, all he could do was listen. “And, I watched him disappear after fighting Thanos.”
“I have never met anyone like him in my life. So calm and patient. It felt like a connection the second our eyes met for the first time. He was funny, charming, and just all-around a nice guy. He had a lot of trauma but he worked hard to grow from it. He meant more to me than anyone could imagine.” You sighed, rubbing your left arm subconsciously. “There were many tough times at the beginning, especially when you consider how we met and the complexity of us just knowing each other. But, I couldn’t imagine anyone else filling the space in my life like he did. I wished for him to be the man I grew old with, built a home with, possibly had children with.” You wiped a tear that started falling with your shelve. This was when you noticed your dad, you made direct eye contact with him and you had never felt so small under his gaze. Disappointment. That’s what you were. “Anyway,” you choked as you carried on, not dropping his gaze. “I knew us being together would have hurt so many people. That was the last thing I ever wanted to do. But, the heart wants what it wants and my heart wanted him.” This was when you dropped his gaze and looked around at the fellow group members. “It still wants him.”
~
After the last member had left the sports hall of Midtown, you followed them into the school's parking lot. You lifted your head to notice your dad leaning against your car with his hood up. With a deep breath, you walked towards him.
“I don’t want to hear it.” You spat before he could open his mouth, you tried to open your car door but he slammed his hand against it. “Dad, please, I don’t want to hear it.”
“You’re sleeping with a murderer.” It was as if he hissed at you with anger, spat like venom as he looked down at you.
“I’m a murderer!” Yelling back at him your breathing began to quicken. “And in case you forgot what happened a year ago, I’m not sleeping with him anymore.”
“Y/N he killed-“
“I understand you’re still hurting, Dad. I would be too if it was you and Pepper.” He saw the pain you still carried from only ever hearing stories about them, never getting to meet them yourself, in your eyes. There was also the love you had for a man you grew to know as himself and not the killer. “But, it wasn’t him. Surely, with that genius mind, you’d be able to comprehend that.” His head dropped with a sigh. “He loved me, he was kind to me, he made me happy. Isn’t that enough for you as my dad? Not as an avenger or a son? Just, my dad?”
“It’s all I’ve ever wanted,” Looking back up, reaching his hand out to wipe a stray tear from your cheek. “You to be happy.”
“I miss him, Dad, I miss him so much.”
He pulled you into his arms placing a hand on your head, allowing you to sob into his chest.
“I know, Kid, I know.”

Pairing: Platonic! Peter Parker & Reader; Reader x Bucky (but that's not really plot relevant)
Word Count: 2.2k
Warnings: uh none really just mentioning of all the tragedies MCU Peter has endured lmao
Genre: it's pretty fluffy- there's minor angst
Summary: You happen to be the only person who still remembers Peter Parker exists and you are not about to hang him out to dry. So what happens when you take Peter in and basically become his guardian? Well- nothing is simple where super-teens are involved, but you and Peter can certainly handle whatever comes your way. Right?

You're worried. You know you've been gone for months and things can change a lot in a few months but it shouldn't be this hard to find Peter. Flying down the streets of New York you finally spot the kid through an open window in a rundown apartment building.
"Parker! There you are! Dude, I've been looking all over the city for you what the hell?" You lean against the window sill, startling Peter when you speak.
"Miss y/n! You know who I am!" Peter blinks at you.
"Well duh, why wouldn't I? And what are you doing in this godawful apartment?"
"Well-" Peter trails off, avoiding your gaze.
"Peter, what did you do?" Your eyes widen.
"I- made the entire world forget who I am?" He says hesitantly. You blink at him for a moment.
"Wh- ho- why would you- what made you think that was a good idea?"
"It wasn't a good idea it was the only idea." He says.
"I- how'd ya figure?" You tilt your head.
"It's a... long story." He mutters.
"So start telling it. Been lookin' for you all over the city so I've got time."
"Okay- it all started when I went on a summer trip to Europe and I met this guy- Mister Mysterio, and it was right after Mr. Stark died and you know, he was pretty important to me and you were away and Mr. Stark left me so much tech that I didn't know what to do with so when Mister Mysterio basically offered to take me under his wing I dunno I thought it'd help me deal with the Mr. Stark thing but he ended up being a super bad dude and I had to fight him and just before I defeated him he like released a video telling the whole world I was Spiderman and also painting me like a bad guy and it totally ruined my life. Like when I started senior year in the fall there were people literally protesting outside of my school! Some wanted me to pay for what I did to Mister Mysterio but others thought I had a reason for what happened since I'm like a neighborhood hero-"
"Well did you?" You ask cutting off Peter's frantic 2x speed recap.
"What?" He blinks at you.
"Have a reason. For whatever happened with Mysterio."
"Of course I did! He wanted to use Stark's tech to take over the world!"
"I'm just pulling your leg kid- I know you'd never harm a dude for no reason." You chuckle. "I'm just dispelling tension because you're speedrunning. So this guy ruined your life by telling the world you're Spiderman. What happened next?"
"Well with all the chaos it caused me in my daily life I went to Mr. Strange to try and fix it."
"You went to Strange." You repeat.
"Yeah cuz he's got that magic stone and with you gone, he's like the only person I know who might've been able to do the thing I was thinking of." Peter shrugs.
"And what was the thing you were thinking of?"
"I was going to see if there was a spell that could make the world forget that I was Spiderman but while we were doing the spell I remembered that there were people I had already told independent of the whole Mysterio thing and I didn't want them to forget because it's so much easier to not have to lie to Ned or MJ or Aunt May so I kept fixing the spell to be more specific than 'everyone forgets Peter Parker is Spiderman' and did you know there are other Spidermen in other versions of reality?!"
"That makes sense." You nod.
"What?"
"I travel through time and space a lot, I've seen hundreds of versions of hundreds of people- there being other Spidermen makes sense. What was your spell?"
"Well I altered it a few times while Mr. Strange was creating it but the last thing I said was something like 'everyone who already knew before should still know' and somehow it brought people who knew other Spidermen here. Specifically two other Spidermen and of course, they were all villains because I guess those guys do not have friends back home-"
"Peter!" You gasp barely holding back your laughter.
"Sorry- that was rude but I was really overwhelmed okay there was a dude who could like control electricity, and a guy made out of sand, and a huge freaking lizard monster, and a guy who dressed like a goblin and he killed Aunt May and there was a dude with gigantic mechanical tentacle arm thingies that came out of his back it was- terrifying."
"Oh honey." You sigh.
"We almost died in the process but me and the other Spidermen managed to kick them back to where they belonged, but Mr. Strange's botched spell was causing a collision of the multiverse so to reverse it we- had to make the whole world forget Peter Parker altogether." Peter says. There are a few moments of silence as you contemplate what to say next. Scolding him seems harsh, he's been through too much since you've last seen him.
"When did that happen? The forget-me-not spell part."
"Like- four months ago." He shrugs.
"And you've just been on your own here since then?" You frown.
"Aunt May's dead- no one else knows who I am- I- I didn't have anywhere to go." He shrugs.
"Do you want to stay here?" You ask.
"What?"
"I- hate this apartment, I don't really like you living here it's- tiny and probably not up to safety codes but if you'd rather stay I can't force you to move I just- I'd feel better if you moved in with me. So I'm asking."
"I don't wanna be a burden."
"Oh don't be ridiculous I could never see you as a burden and you've had a hard enough time in the last year there is no reason for you to have it any harder than it needs to be. If you want to move in with me there's plenty of room." You tell him.
"You mean it?"
"Absolutely." You nod.
"Okay- I'll- pack my things I guess."
"Good." You clap your hands together and climb fully into the apartment to help him.
It takes a few hours but eventually, you get Peter out of that shoebox of his and set him up in what used to be your guest room. He spends a little while in there unpacking until he's apparently too overwhelmed to do any more of it and takes refuge in the living room to watch TV. You're in the kitchen when he comes out and declares unpacking will have to wait and while you don't want to bring his mood down you feel like you have to check in before you can finish the baking you were doing. You take a seat in the armchair next to where Peter is perched on your couch.
"I- didn't get a chance to ask earlier but, how are you dealing with the whole Aunt May thing? You barely got to grieve Tony before it all went to shit it seems."
"I- haven't really had a whole lot of time to dwell on it actually, but I've been to visit her a couple of times."
"If you need anything Peter please ask and I'm serious. We've been family for quite a while as far as I'm concerned but especially now. Can't have you thinking you've got no one left in this world."
"Thanks y/n. Although I seriously don't get how Mr. Strange's spell didn't affect you too." Peter frowns.
"Dunno- maybe I was traveling through time when he did it. Or somewhere in space, outta range." You shrug.
"Lucky for me I guess." He says.
"Very." You stand and ruffle his hair before returning to the kitchen. You're glad he seems to be getting comfortable in your home already. You want him to be comfortable here, he deserves a little comfort after all that's happened. Some time later you hear the lock to your front door click open as you pull cookies out of your oven.
"Y/n?" Bucky's voice calls from the door.
"Kitchen!" You call back setting the tray on the counter. You can hear Bucky making his way down the hall before he enters the kitchen. His smile turns to a look of confusion and he retreats from sight for a moment and then pivots back into the kitchen.
"There's a boy in your living room babe." He points out.
"Yeah, I know that's Peter." You say with a laugh.
"Do we know Peter?"
"I know Peter."
"How?"
"He's-" you pause for a moment. Bucky won't remember him. He barely knew the kid in the first place. "He's my godson." You say. That's probably believable.
"You have a godson?!"
"I have a few godchildren actually- he's just the oldest." You say. Truth.
"He's got siblings?"
"No, he's an only child but I am a godparent to multiple children that are not related to each other."
"Including that one?" Bucky points down the hall in the general direction of your living room.
"Yes including that one. He's moved in with me." You say.
"What?!" Bucky's eyes widen.
"It's a... long story- he's not my nephew or anything I actually didn't know his parents. I was friends with his aunt who ended up responsible for him after his parents died and she made me her- for lack of a better word, successor if anything happened to her once she became his only living family."
"Well, where's his aunt?"
"She died while I was gone." You say. You'll have to make a point to visit Aunt May's grave soon.
"So where's he been?" Bucky asks.
"In a dingey little shoebox of an apartment." You grimace.
"He's old enough that he got his own apartment?"
"Well, he's eighteen but I don't believe in throwing kids to the wolves once they turn eighteen so I told him he could come stay with me because there's no reason for him to be in a shitty apartment struggling to support himself when I have space. Plus he's got basically no other family now, I don't want him to be alone."
"Alright, but you can't make me talk to him." Bucky says.
"My love he's a teenager I don't expect you to have a playdate. I'm looking after him, I'm not making that your responsibility." You chuckle.
"Cool." Bucky snatches a cookie off the counter. "I'm headed to your room for a while." He kisses your cheek and disappears up the stairs. A couple minutes after Bucky disappears Peter comes shuffling into the kitchen.
"Godson?" He asks sitting on one of the stools by the island.
"Hm?" You frown.
"You told Mr. Bucky that I'm your godson."
"Oh- well, it was the first pretty believable thing I could think of. And I think if May thought something would take her from us so soon she'd probably have planned for you to stay with me or Tony." You shrug.
"I think so too." He says after a moment.
"Don't worry too much about Bucky, you know how he is around new people."
"We didn't really get to know each other the first time around but- do you think he'll warm up to me?" Peter asks.
"Aw of course he will. He'd never admit it but Buck's got a secret soft spot for chosen families. It won't be immediate but I'm sure you'll be ganging up on me in no time." You shrug.
"He doesn't seem all that open."
"Well- you know how when kids bring home a puppy they 'found' and their parents grumble about a new responsibility but end up falling in love with the animal anyway?"
"Yeah?"
"Not that you're a stray dog or anything but Bucky's kind of seeing it in the same way. He probably thinks I'll need his help looking after you. Which- on a pretty much unrelated note sweetie, are you still Spiderman?"
"Yeah- just now no one knows. Is that... a problem?" Peter asks hesitantly.
"Now why would that be a problem? I'd be quite the hypocrite to suddenly decide you can't be Spiderman. That's how we met after all." You chuckle, reaching forward and pinching his chin affectionately. "And helping people is what you do. It's what we do. I'd never ask you to stop. But we'll need some regulations."
"Regulations?" His tone makes you giggle a bit.
"Within reason. I just mean I need you to keep me posted. Holler before you go on patrols, and call me if you have any emergencies. Oh, and any time you tell someone your secret I'd like to know."
"Oh, I don't plan to tell anyone. Well- maybe we can tell Mr. Bucky eventually. I agree with those regulations but I don't have anyone else to tell." He shakes his head.
"For now but if you go to college and make friends-"
"Do you think I could?" Peter's eyes widen hopefully.
"Make friends?" You frown.
"Go to college."
"I think you've wiped yourself from the memories of everyone you know- it gives you a unique opportunity to start over however you see fit. I know college was something you were really looking forward to so- if you get your GED you can enroll next fall or this spring if you're ready to start earlier. I'll help you in any way I can if that's what you want." You say. There's a stretch of silence as Peter considers your words.
"I'll think about it." He says.
"You do that. In the meantime just- let's get used to living together. Deal?"
"Deal." He smiles.
"Good. Cookie?" You slide the tray towards him and he takes one happily. You really think this is going to be good for him and it might even be better for you than you expect.

A/N: if I wrote more of this would y'all want to read it? It would be anthology style but I think the concept is real cute!

In the past few years I’ve been seeing increasingly outlandish takes regarding the MCU’s role in Bucky’s (and to a lesser extent Steve’s) characterization, both in the movies and the comics. They all start from a premise that I generally agree with:
The Captain America movies set up what is in essence a love story, romantic or otherwise.
In view of that love story, Steve’s Endgame ending makes very little sense and was at least partially motivated by the Russos’ homophobic reaction to the Stucky fandom.
The MCU’s portrayal of Steve and Bucky has since affected their portrayal in the comics.
However, people seem to have lost sight of the fact that Stucky as an even remote possibility has only ever been an MCU thing. But because so much of the fandom proceeds from the basic idea that “movies bad, comics good,” I have now seen multiple people claim that the movies made the comics homophobic … because there is still no Stucky in the comics?
As someone who loves Bucky in all his iterations and especially the way these iterations have impacted each other, I just really want to set the record straight:
Stucky is an MCU thing. Soft Bucky is, at least originally, an MCU thing. Bucky as Steve’s only reason for doing anything is … you guessed it, an MCU thing.
You can’t decry the MCU bleeding into comics and simultaneously complain that Steve is still hanging out with Sharon Carter. I mean, you can, but that would be just fucking silly. Steve/Sharon is the comics doing its own thing, without any regard for the MCU! In fact the very reason that CA:CW’s sad attempt at making Steve/Sharon happen failed so abysmally was because Bucky had already taken her place by then.
The original comics’ Bucky was a little kid who (for whatever unfathomable reason) was allowed to fight in WWII. Later on, Ed Brubaker aged him up to teenager and created what was in essence a new character: the Winter Soldier. MCU went further and blended that new version of Bucky with a minor (but pretty revolutionary) character from the 80s: an openly gay Jewish man called Arnie Roth.
Arnie’s backstory, revealed in a two-page flashback in Captain America #270, goes something like this: growing up in New York he was scrawny Steve’s bigger and stronger best friend and protector from bullies. As a young adult he was also ostensibly a ladies’ man, while Steve decidedly was not. Sound familiar?
However, the similarities end there: Arnie and Steve drifted apart before Steve became Cap, and while they briefly reconnected during the war, they did not actually fight together. Plotwise, Arnie does end up filling the same damsel-in-distress slot that MCU’s Bucky does, but his role in Steve’s life never becomes as outsized as MCU Bucky’s. Steve has his love of his life (at the time), and Arnie his.
Moving on to Winter Soldier era, I have now seen people claim that Brubaker aged Bucky up to set up Stucky, and I can hardly express just how patently absurd that take is. Both Steve and Bucky in his runs are almost aggressively straight in that their respective relationships with Sharon and Natasha play a big role in their lives.
What’s more, the early 2000s Brubaker was, unfortunately but unsurprisingly, not free of the period-typical homophobia. In his “director’s cut” commentary he says that his main problem with “Cap in the late 80s and early 90s” was that “they [had] completely sissified” him. Now, what he meant was that it was an unrealistic portrayal of Steve as someone completely unwilling to kill, given what he must have had to do in the war. But that wording is hardly a hallmark of someone who could even conceive of Stucky back then. That he has now, almost twenty years later, liked some Stucky tweets or whatever is completely irrelevant. His views have evolved, and you can see it in his more recent writing too (which I love, by the way). And he must recognize that the MCU Steve and Bucky are different characters from the ones he wrote. You can’t possibly write comics for Marvel and not have made peace with characters having multiple, sometimes conflicting iterations.

have you ever gotten some asks that make you think, "did this person even read the blog?" Like... Cause I feel like you would've at least gotten some cringey stupid asks at some point.
i actually know a lot of people that interact with my stuff very frequently that haven't read the blog! and i kind of don't blame them, it's – it's such a gargantuan task. i admire anyone that has read the whole blog. they're so strong. so sexy. kissing all of you insane folks on the mouth. it's not easy.
i do often get asks in the blog inbox that i've already answered ages ago - but that's par for the course - i'm excited there are new people who are jumping in. i certainly don't expect everyone to read everything - and i don't want these places to feel dismissive to people who haven't invested hours upon hours to do the back-reading!
i don't think there are a lot of people who interact with my stuff and don't have at least a little understanding about what i've got going on here - i think probably this place is definitely just a little bit disorientating for people who don't know just a little bit about 9319 and this specific version of wade and peter. and with how much of a task it is to read the blog and how tricky it is to keep on top of all of this and the fics and all of it - god, it's so insane to me just how many of you actually do invest into all of it, and do have all these profound headcanons and questions about this specific universe and. god. gooood. you're all insane. i don't expect any of you guys to be as insane as i am, but some of you are. and i love you.
i do remember a time when i'd get influxes of mcu-related asks, back when the mcu was in it's heyday but - thank god, that doesn't happen anymore. because the mcu is dying. wahoo! i had no idea i'd outlive the mcu, considering the mcu almost killed me (i went on hiatus after homecoming ruined everything) - but i have a feeling i'll be dancing on the mcu's grave fairly soon.

Unpopular Phase 4 & 5 Opinions
Quantumania is the worst Phase 4/5 movie. And it wasn’t even because “kang got beat by ants.” (I liked kang in this movie). It’s just that the Spy Kids aesthetic & bad acting & overall weird vibes just weren’t for me.
Love and Thunder is no worse than Ragnarok. I would argue that it’s better in a lot of ways, actually. I really liked it.
Taika Waititi ruined thor with bad humour all the way back in Ragnarok tbh, but y’all weren’t complaining about it then 😒.
BuckySarah is better than sambucky every day of the week.
The Marvels was a good ass movie & they’re one of my favorite teams in the mcu. I’ll never forgive cbm sites & online dudebros for killing the hype from the moment the film was announced.
I adore America Chavez & Kamala Kahn and I want to see them in everything. They must be protected at all costs.
Multiverse of Madness had shitty characterisation & basically just copy-pasted the ‘grief made me go off the deep end & hurt people, then I realised and stopped myself’ storyline from Wandavision… but Wanda was extremely selfish & apathetic to other people’s suffering from the time she was introduced in the mcu. MoM didn’t make her like that.
Wanda should’ve been looking for Vision (her actual real life boyfriend whom she spent years with irl) in MoM instead of the kids that weren’t even real that she spent like a week using as characters in her sitcom.
Making everyone forget Peter Parker wasn’t profound or poetic in any way- it was just frustrating and needlessly cruel.
I’m begging marvel to understand that heroes don’t have to be in constant suffering to be heroic & villains don’t have to sacrifice themselves to achieve redemption. Let characters heal and atone, you absolute weirdos.
What If…? is the most boring show ever. I’d rather watch Secret Invasion or She-Hulk.
Season 2 of Loki is, in a cinematic & artistic sense, the best marvel project period.
Loki season 1 was meh- more of a fun au than anything because his characterisation kinda sucked. Season 2 fixed it, though, and made it way easier for me to incorporate this version of Loki back into the larger mcu.
Having Steve stay in the past with Peggy was stupid af.
I don’t hate Peggy (or Captain Carter), though. I actually think she’s pretty cool.
I don’t really love Steve. He’s arrogant & they never really let him have flaws & something about him being a perfect metaphor for the American military industrial complex (and marvel painting that as a good thing) doesn’t sit right with me.
The Illuminati got done dirty and the only reason they went down so fast was because Wanda had all that plot armor.
I thought the retcon of having Wanda be “destined” to become the Scarlet Witch since birth was an annoying cop-out. Her powers originating from being experimented on with an infinity stone was way more interesting.
Loki & Wanda have almost the exact same powers.
Nebula deserved a bigger rule in killing Thanos & everything else moving forward.
I love Kathryn Newton but her acting as Cassie Lang was the worst acting I’ve ever seen in the mcu, like it was outrageously bad.
I’m glad Sam is the new Captain America and not Bucky.
The fact that Bucky probably isn’t gonna be one of Thee lead characters in the upcoming avengers movies feels sick and twisted.
Secret Invasion was actually passable until the G’iah scene at the end. That ruined it. And Nick Fury deserved way better for his solo series.
Kang is so much more interesting than Doctor Doom. I really hope they just recast him.
Carol Danvers does NOT deserve the hate she gets.
I actually disliked Carol until The Marvels. That movie made me a stan.
The way people treat Monica as Wanda’s little inferior pet creation or smth & then brag about it is uhh very sus.
I don’t like sylvie (bc she’s an amalgamation of 3 different comic characters- which killed any hopes of them appearing individually in the mcu, the creators used her existence to butcher Loki’s genderfluid rep, & she was written poorly) & I HATE sylki (bc it’s weird & unnecessary).
Marvel isn’t dead. I actually love where they’re taking things. But that’s just me.
