Another analysis of Bakudeku’s relationship! (Shout out to Syd for helping me) - Manga spoilers

If Horikoshi planned to make them holding hands in a life or death situation, aka an important situation…imagine for the manga and how important it’ll be

It’s different from the movie for sure but still…If his first idea was them to help each other in the most unexpected situation and where they NEEDED it to survive, it’ll be more impacting in the manga

When he never saw him in this state before, for him it was the first time he truly saw his childhood friend died in front of him. The same childhood friend with how he wouldn’t imagine a world. And seeing him *dead* in front of his eyes might awaken something in his chest because the idea of losing him was hard, but they caught him right in time the last time at Kamino…this time, no one was here to save him, and Izuku might blame himself because now he’s considered dead.

It’s like imagining one of your closest friends (even your best friend you’ve known since childhood or years, it doe matter, as long as you know you both had a strong bond) dead, and damn...I think no word would be enough to describe the pain Izuku might have felt at that moment, so instead, his emotions spoke for himself and me, the fear deku we have now is the traumatized and the real Izuku, the one unable to control his feeling- see what I mean with the Izuku stuff?

How the Izuku was seen until now was the « fake » one, and the feral one who entered into craziness after seeing Katsuki dead is the « real » one, almost as if his feelings were personalized in one person, and it’ll be the current Izuku.

I love the symbolism of “holding hands.” Until now, all the people who held someone else’s hand were important to them, so it’s not just an “I’m saving you” thing, it’s more like an “I’m saving you because I TRUST YOU” thing.

The notion of trust is really important, and it depends on the relationship. For example, in season 6, when Tenya held Izuku’s hands, it was because he trusted him.

During the Kamino accident, Izuku WANTED to be the one to save Katsuki (in a part of his mind) because HE TRUSTED HIM. At this period, he was afraid because he didn’t know if it was mutual, so he let Kirishima do it.

Today we have heroes rising where, in a life or death situation, Katsuki AGREED to hold Izuku’s hands and accept his help because he TRUSTED him. He always did, and it was complicated during the deku vs. kacchan two fight when he refused and rejected izuku’s help. Because Katsuki was TRUSTING izuku, and he always did, but he was afraid and lost in himself.

The beauty of their relationship (bkdk) is how Izuku knows that Katsuki is not okay, and he gives him time. Instead of forcing him, he would rather let his childhood friend discover things by himself and be here by his side when this happens. When Izuku always knew about how HE trusted Katsuki, like an obvious thing for him….it took more time for Katsuki to admit it.

Admiring it means being vulnerable, and until now, the only moments when he was vulnerable were around Izuku, and, even if they didn’t solve their problems at first, it helped Katsuki to build this trust and the idea of “Izuku is here when I’m vulnerable, so this means he’s trusting me” (or something like that) so yeah, the most interesting part of their relationship is how they grew up.

When Katuski fully realizes it’s okay, and they trust each other, he’ll be more open, and their bond will be stronger. It’s the prettiest thing about their dynamic.

If it was izuku who had his hand out for Katsuki instead of kirishima, but I’m glad it was him because izuku wanted to be the one to save him, but honestly, I don’t think he would’ve taken his hand. (Since he rejected 3 times when izuku offered, but you know katsuki too stubborn) and so we get to where I love the hand-holding bc katsuki is now accepting izuku and wants to make things right between them.

Katsuki character i think is very unique. Izuku is just a beautiful character overall.

The relationship between them is something that I never really seen before (i mean I’ve seen stuff with enemies to friends or enemies to lovers) but this is a little different and that’s what I love about it.

Let’s be real, we always wished it was Izuku because it’s our comfort ship, but seeing this story as external spectators….this won’t work.

Katsuki would’ve to reject Izuku because he didn’t “trust” him (aka accepting how his feelings were valid too and it shouldn’t be scary to accept Izuku’s help), and they’ll put his life in danger even more. It was a question of second, let’s be real (again) Izuku might be hurt by the fact that Katsuki wouldn’t accept his help and see someone else doing it or “taking his place” FOR THE FIRST TIME.

It was new, and I’m sure he suffered, but then deku vs. kacchan 2 happened, and they solved things. It was a difficult phase in their relationship, but it made it more realistic. That’s why I love them and how detailed it is. In the current manga they had to live in the same situation about saving each other they will. Katsuki would accept Izuku’s hands because they worked on it for months (in the manga Timelapse).

It’s different and well done, this makes them more attached and humans. They made mistakes, apologized, and agreed to give each other a “second chance” to start better, which is beautiful. They both complete each other most unexpectedly, and it’s the craziest thing about their relationship, how it feels natural.

I’m truly glad about how their relationship turned and their development <3

“Any last words before leaving this place, nerd ?” Katsuki said, the knife to the freckled man’s chest.

“You’re beautiful.” Izuku smiled. There was no fear in his eyes, only acceptance of his tragic fate.

“Shit, it’s your last words? Are you sure you can’t find anything better ?” Katsuki was still holding the knife, ready to take his mission, but something was bothering him. He didn’t know if it was the living and caring gaze on Izuku’s face or the pain filling his chest at the idea of killing the one he loved.

Izuku smiled, tears falling down his cheeks. He took a last time to mesmerize this frame, to keep in mind the blond’s pretty face and to be the last thing he’ll see before dying. It was the rule. He had to accept his fate.

“No, because I could’ve died with no regrets. I want people to know you as the person who defeats your rival, even if you hate the blood on your hands.”

"We should end this as soon as possible. I don’t know why I accepted this mission in the first place if it means meeting you, freckles.”

“I would take this mission. I knew I would meet my soulmate. I need you to promise me one thing before leaving, kacchan.” His scarred hands cupped the blond’s cheeks with a tender touch. It was the first time they would be this close, and yet, the last time they could glance into each other’s eyes.

“Anything, deku.” Katsuki’s voice shook, and he felt tears falling down his cheek.

Izuku smiled, cupping the other’s skin like he was scared to break it. “Take these tears away and start living your life. I’ve known you as Katsuki Bakugo, but I want you to live as Kacchan, who wants to reach his goal.”

“What if I aim to take this knife out of here and escape with you? Would that make me egoistic ?”

Izuku laughed. He’ll miss this voice. “Then it’s been two of us, kacchan. I wish we could’ve met each other in different contexts, maybe we’ll fall in love again without facing this tragic fate.”

“Idiot.” Katsuki was sobbing, but he ignored it. His hands were shaking, and it was a question of time before the other guards would come here and kill Izuku with their hands. “What if I already fell, do you ?”

“Then I’ll enjoy each second with you more instead of reaching you for this mission. Unfortunately, we can’t change fate but listen to me…” izuku smiled through his tears and a broken heart. “I want you to remember me as Izuku Midoriya, your biggest enemy, but also as the person who loved you until his last breath.”

Katsuki said nothing, crying and letting the scarred hands wipe his tears away. There was so much love in those eyes, many moments to share, and a life to live. It’ll be fine before realizing it, knowing they would’ve never had the chance to be together in this lifetime.

Without thinking, Izuku’s lips shut the blond’s with a sudden kiss. It will be their first and their last. Katsuki was about to drop the knife, put it aside, and stop everything, but the freckled man was smarter.

Katsuki could feel the soft lips on a kiss, feeling their salty tears together as Izuku kissed him like there was no tomorrow. Katsuki answered his kiss before being cut off by a smile and a few dots that would forget to haunt him.

“I love you.”

Before realizing it, the knife moved closer to the freckled man's chest and found his body. Katsuki’s eyes widened at the sudden sight of the blood spreading all over the greenette’s chest as the sudden, painful sound haunted his ears.

“Shit, why did you do this, deku.” He called him, noticing how his hands were getting colder. He was holding him closer, never leaving his side as Katsuki had to watch the light in his lover’s eyes fading away.

Katsuki wasn’t strong enough to kill him, so Izuku killed himself. What a tragic fate.

The blond’s hands never left Izuku’s, seeing the dead body and knowing he was gone forever. Now his tears had a bitter taste, and the words he was about to say felt wrong. He should’ve said them earlier.

“Idiot, what I’m supposed to do when the person I love the most dies in my arms before I can even say I love you ?”

#bkdk where omega Izuku is in labor, his mate Katsuki stands by his side, and the two welcome their second child.

The nurse smiled, went outside, and asked their first Mahoro to join the labor room. She doesn’t have a lot of time, only a few minutes. She’s surprised and excited to see her new sibling, but she’s ready.

When she entered the room, there was no one except Izuku. The white walls were covered by light, and a green and low sheet covered his dam’s legs. Izuku was wearing hospital clothes, white like the snow, but the bags under his eyes were enough to see how many hours he was here.

The ten yo girl was shy at first.

It was new, and she was stressed due to the lack of time. The nurse told her that she only had a few minutes, and she was mesmerized by seeing his dam smiling at her and holding a newborn. Her brother was smaller than she taught, and from what she knew, he was clean. It was enough to see the smallest details in his face, and a sudden urge to take him into his arms reached her mind, but she couldn’t…because she’ll find this joy in a few hours.

“Hi, sweetheart,” Izuku smiled, making her signs come closer. The girl was afraid, but she trusted the freckled man more than anyone.

“Are you alright ?” Mahoro asked, but she couldn’t keep her eyes away from the newborn standing on his dam’s chest. He was sleeping, but it was the sweetest thing she had ever seen.

“I’m kinda exhausted, but I’m fine.” He said. From here, he could see how their firstborn had many questions but kept them to herself, afraid to waste time or say anything wrong.

“What’s his name ?” She asked, her fingers ruffling the chubby freckled cheeks.

“Katsuma,” Izuku answered with a soft and comforting tone. The previous doubts he could read into their daughter’s face faded away as she was slowly but surely making the first bond with her sibling.

Unfortunately, Mahoro couldn’t say anything else before the previous nurse came to the room and said it was time to go.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine,” Izuku comforted her as the smaller figure took the woman’s hand. “We’ll see each other tomorrow when they authorize a visit, alright ?”

Mahoro nodded a smile on her face but a sad feeling in her chest. She didn’t want to leave, but she had to, and she knew she’d never forget this moment.

“I’ll be the first one to visit !” She smiled, waving goodbye to the freckled man. “Get some rest !”

Izuku thanked her, and he watched the door closing, followed by someone else. A bright smile appeared on his face as Katsuki walked by his side, putting his hands around his shoulder.

“You’ve done a great job, deku.” He kissed his mate’s forehead. He knew the nerd was already missing their daughter, but she was safe.

“So…” Mitsuki asked, sharing à face with her husband and grandma Inko. “How was it?”

Mahoro smiled. “It was strange at first, but it was shorter than I expected!”

“How is he ?” Inko asked with a smile old her face, seeing the happiness in her granddaughter’s eyes. “How’s your brother ?”

“He’s so small and…so pretty !” The girl answered, telling them she couldn’t wait for tomorrow to see her parents again.

Author’s note: inspired by real life because imagine Mahoro is the person writing behind the screen when my brother was born because it was an exception. I made sure to transcribe everything, the memories, the feelings, and the frame my memories saved from that short and intense moment. It’s a memory I’ll cherish every day and I wanted to do the same with my comfort ship and their family!

A “small” analysis of bkdk’s relationship - manga spoilers

I watched this edit I liked a long time ago in my editor phase. This was just the song “Dynasty” by Mia mixed with manga spoilers, and it made me realize how much their relationship has improved today.

It’s crazy to think how this started as childhood friends, with bullying, and ended up with sacrifice. Today, we have Katsuki Bakugo, who’s ready to sacrifice twice for Izuku when he was the one who despised him at the beginning. This story isn’t jousted about their chemistry and how they complete each other but also about their character development, especially Katsuki’s. We’re talking about a teenager who was lost with himself and used violence as a coping mechanism, someone who’s about to fight for his goals and know what he wants to do. The same guy was scared to admit his weakness and revealed them twice before Izuku.

The whole Izuku/Bakugo relationship has been strong since the beginning. When Izuku integrated UA and learned that the blond had left the place, his first thought was to rush toward his childhood friend and explain everything…because the thought of Katsuki hating him was unbearable to him (at this period and how distant they were). Katsuki was the first one to know about the OFA, to learn the most important secret in his childhood friend’s life, and to adapt himself to this new lifestyle.

Which made us switch to kidnapping. The Kamino arc when Izuku saw his biggest fear taking form in front of him for the first time in his life…when he couldn’t save Katsuki. Imagine how hard it must be to see someone you’ve known your entire life and care about fading in front of you without knowing if you’ll meet them again.

This moment was an essential point in their relationship where it reflected their mindsets. Izuku was afraid of being rejected and failing the rescue mission, so he gave it to someone the blond could trust. Izuku never truly spoke about this period, and I’m wondering what he truly felt…if Horikoshi even said himself how it was an angsty moment, it says a lot about his character’s mindset. The fact that Izuku thinks his childhood friend would’ve never accepted his hold, putting his life in danger even more, would be heartbreaking. At this period, Izuku was the only one showing his admiration for Katsuki and thinking it was one-sided.

It was the opposite. Indeed, Katsuki had been warning the freckled man not to reach him because he knew Izuku would risk his life for him, and it was something he wanted to avoid.

Then Deku VS kacchan happened and changed their relationship into something healthy. For the first time in their life, they both had a heart-to-heart talk and expressed what they truly felt, revealing their vulnerabilities around each other. It led to a more robust and healthier relationship to the point where today, Katsuki apologized for his mistakes in front of everyone after being the one finding Izuku.

Katsuki’s characters’ development is insane and well written, revealing how Katsuki wasn’t just the bad guy but a human with feelings, fears, and doubts. Izuku was the one by his side and never left him until the end (aka the event chapter bc the story isn’t over yet). Today, Katsuki bakugo sacrificed himself to save his childhood friend, Izuku, the first thing he had in mind when he woke up, only to learn it was too late…saying the opposite of the things he said years ago.

Katsuki cares about Izuku. Izuku cares about Katsuki, and yet…none of them know. The freckled man was planning his friends’ rescue mission, with the impression of being a burden…when Katsuki planned to find his childhood friend the entire time and look for him at the hospital.

None of them know how much they mean to each other, and it's the saddest part of the story…the untold things. Maybe they’ll never know, maybe they will one day, but this is insane.
