My Lady (Maid x Lady)

There I sat in my quarters, the day break had just began as I watched the sun rise from the small window opposite my bed. I listened for the ringing of a bell from my lady. I waited pacitently, i also arose before her, I let her sleep in often. The bell quickly rang and I made my way from the servants quarters up to the second floor, I was greeted by my lady, up out of her bed already, her nightgown still on as she rushed around the room.

"Where is it?? Where is my favorite dress?" She asked herself as I entered the room, I set down the stuff used to get her ready in the morning and rushed to help her search

"It should be in here my Lady, I had it washed and brought in just yesterday before you came back from your book club" I spoke in a calm and collected voice, hopeing to calm down my lady

"Its not anywhere!! Are you sure??"

"I'm quite positive, I made sure it was spotless before they dried it." I replied

I looked around the room even more and finally we located the dress under her gown from the other day.

"See! its in fine condition my lady" I replied as I smoothed out the dress and hung it up, "Now we must get you bathed and ready for the day, you have a luncheon with Lord Harnington in only a couple hours."

My Lady sighed in releif as she began to get ready, she was bathed and cleaned, I began to do her hair as she sat paitently on the chair in front of her vanity.

"Maid? May I question you quickly?" She spoke softly, her voice was shy and quiet, nothing like she usually was

"Of course, my lady may ask me anything" I replied and smiled softly as I braided her hair

"Have... you ever been in love?" She asked me, the question made my heart jump..

Love? I.. I dont think so, I have lived in this huse my whole life, a servant to my lady since we were small, I don't know many men except those who also work for the family, but relations between the workers is frowned upon.. I shook my head.. though I wasnt quite sure that was the answer..

"I do not think I am in love with Lord Harnington.." She began "He is nothing like I hoped, and even spending time with him makes my heart weep.. I do not belive I love him.. yet I was so excited when he began to court me"

I nodded and listened to her talk, her voice was opening up more..

"I... I do not know if I have ever been in love.." She spoke softly as she messed with the necklace around her neck..

I wish for my lady to have nothing but the best, I wish for my lady to be happy, and if being in love makes her happy I wish nothing more..

"May I speak freely my lady?"

She nodded in reply

"When you are, around him, does your heart flutter? Do you wake up thinking about him and go to bed thinking about him? When you see him, do you immediatly dream to be in his arms? When she looks at you with her lovely eyes, do you feel safe?" I asked

My Lady was quiet and looked at the mirror..

"I feel that with you..." She replied
