FOLLOW HIM. - TAPE

To put into text my perspective on this 8 song tape that I released in 2022. A very experimental stage musically and sound wise for me, still learning how to properly mix my own vocals and be my own engineer, songwriter, producer, and lead director was a challenge this early on for me however I ended up being very pleased with how this tape came out. I will say that I do see some flaws within it now looking back at it in 2024.. Heavily inspired by the tastes I had at the time, some artists that inspired me the most during this era were Slutty Sonny, Nocturnal Depression, 7xvn, Xasthur, AdoreBlackMetal, etc.. The original idea for this tape was to be a concept record and to tell a story to the listener as the songs went on, that story being up to your own interpretation as everyone relates to and takes away different things from each song and set of lyrics, just the same way that I see this tape much differently than someone else would. I wanted to capture a raw underground feeling with a sort of natural amateur like sound to some of the tracks to give off a more genuine and realistic approach to the songwriting and overall feel. The track ‘Unknown (The Deity)’ surprisingly became and still is my most listened to song on my spotify with over 8000 listens as of the time of writing this. There is actually a bonus track ‘Black Mirrors Pt. 2’ which is a continuation of the first ‘Black Mirrors’ song I released back in 2021 on the ‘EVIL. EP’. ‘Follow HIM’ is the sequel project to the ‘EVIL. EP’ therefore it had very similar themes art wise, lyric wise, and overall atmospherically. I plan to release ‘Black Mirrors Pt. 2’ as a cassette exclusive which has been planned since the launch date and will hopefully come fairly soon in a limited stock. The music video for ‘Dämonen des Blutmondes’ was very fun to create and edit for me as I thought of the whole thing on the spot one afternoon randomly, I didn’t think i’d make any videos for the tape at all but that turned out to be one of the very few videos that actually shows me in it as of so far. All in all it’s very nostalgic for me to listen to now and I am happy I made it. I definitely plan to make a full length album in the future with ideas based off the ‘Follow HIM’ style. - CASXULS

WHO WAS I?

pain is what you make it to be, could be pretty or could be a form of self destruction. I’m pleased to say i’m in a point in life where I can form my own thoughts and judgments without the worry or concern of impressing those who never even cared for me in the first place. for many years in my teens and even early adult life, i have been constrained and tested by the thoughts inside my own head of what others might or might not see within me. i realized that their understanding of me is merely a fraction of what i truly am and what i plan to come in the future. maybe i’ll finally reach my own idea of “success” fairly soon or maybe i will continue to be the failure that i currently am. just know however that nothing can stop my true intentions for myself, not even death, my life will live even beyond my waking years, this is just a dream, a reminder, a rough draft of what is to come to us in the end. whether heaven or hell is a true desire or purely a fictional grasp at the idea of man made immortality through imagination made up by those no smarter than us, it still leaves many curious concepts and beliefs within us. CLARITY IN YOUR OWN MIND’S HAVEN

I often find it difficult to find the words circulating what it is i’m currently feeling in the moment, almost as if my thoughts are a painting not yet finished by the creator(s) in charge. We all have worth and a presence, however with that comes self doubt, in this life our main concerns and goals often become overshadowed and/or completely ignored and left behind as an empty and impossible dream we once had. To many it happens naturally while in the process of growing up and becoming something maybe not necessarily planned from childhood or even anytime after that. It seems that everything in life is a pattern, just one only very few seem to detect or even attempt to learn. Even trying to teach these lessons and intentions can alter those involved, possibly even turning them against it entirely.. You have a job on this planet and it is whatever you make it out to be, if you are currently unhappy in life, please be happy to know that this pain and un-satisfaction will never last forever. I believe in you all beyond even myself, you are worthy of incredible things, please stay true to yourself and never cave into what others are trying to mold you to become. You know in your heart and soul what it is you must do, so do it, and enjoy yourself.. - CASXULS
