Halloween Special || Trey Clover || Corpse Bride Au
This is part two of the Corpse Bride Au series, inspired by the skeleton costumes the Heartslabyul boys wear. Each Heartslabyul boy will get their own part in this series. Each part: 1,3,4,5
The Netherworld was divided into separate sections. Each sections having different people full of colorful personalities. The Heartslabyul sector was no different. Though if one was in need of a husband to marry, then one should look no further than a rose of cards.
Trey Clover -
Trey grey up the son of a baker. A profession that he was expected to take on. One that he would have happily took on.
And then one day he met a boy that he fell in love with. It was nothing serious at first of course. In fact Trey didn't bother to pursue his feelings.
In the age he lived in, if he were to do so, it would be one of the quickest ways to be killed. And Trey had much more to live for than a one-off romance. Like his parents and his siblings.
But, to Trey's surprise, the boy he developed feelings for had started to show an interest in him. And so began the pairs secret rendezvous.
Trey would back the boy sweets and in return the boy would give him gifts of his own. He was a dentist. Always regaling Trey of wild stories about his job.
And then, the serial killings started happening in the neighborhood. With express orders to stay inside at night unless explicitly necessary.
The boy of Trey's affections had been quiet in the evens following afterwards. Trey figured it was because he was uneasy, so he just offered his companionship as comfort and never pried. He would live to regret the decision later.
One night his secret lover suggested that they should elope and run away together. Trey figured it was the stress that was getting to him but would admit the idea excited him.
The only problem was that his lover wanted to leave in the middle of the night, though Trey figured just one night out, and if they were quick about everything, wouldn't hurt.
So, on the night that they had agreed upon, Trey back his bags and left with his best suit on towards the graveyard. His lover hadn't immediately come, so he waited.
Then out of the corner of his eye, he saw a shadow move. Turn to greet his lover with enthusiasm, only for everything to go dark.
Looking back on it, perhaps he should have paid a little closer attention to those serial killings.
Perhaps if he had just paid closer attention, this wouldn't have happened. Perhaps if he had just said something. Or maybe, it would have ended the same way no matter what he did.
But if he got a chance to do it all over again, he swore to himself that he wouldn't let it go to waste.
"With this ring, I ask you to be mine," You proclaimed, slipping the silver ring onto a branch that looked like a hand. Oddly shaped but worked wonders for practice. ".....now if I could just do that at the alter...." You muttered, frustrated with how the previous rehearsal had gone. An utter disaster that you didn't want to repeat.
But as you began to step away from the branch, the wind suddenly picked up and crows started circling the sky like a bunch of vultures. And then what you had once thought to be a branch, shot out and grabbed tightly onto your hand.
Struggling desperately to get away, the ground began breaking underneath you. And a male you didn't recognize came out of the ground and stared at you with glossy eyes.
"I do," And as the male more or less whispered out those words, you came to the conclusion that you might have made a mistake.
Trey was extremely kind towards you and would even go out of his way to help you out. To the point it could almost be called unnerving.
He went out of his way to make sure that you were comfortable, finding things in Heartslabyul that reminded you or were identical to the living world.
He was happy to finally find a partner that actually wanted him and wasn't just planning on stabbing him in the back later. After all, you were the one that placed the ring on his finger.
Trey's favorite past time was showing you the bakery he ran in Heartslabyul. Yes, it may be the world of the undead, but they liked to eat too.
He took pride and joy in your delight from your desserts.
Trey even played that oyster joke on you, laughing in the why your face scrunched up in confusion and doubt.
He noticed that you were a little uneasy about something, but never pressed the issue. Instead trying to make you happy in the here and now.
Trey had even gone as far as to personally make your all's wedding cake, that way he knew it was perfect.
You were already a married pair, and he made you happy didn't he? So go ahead and drink the poison and make it official.

Cater: So… I’ve seen you’ve been spending a lot of time with Riddle recently.
Trey: No, Cater, it's not what it looks like, I swear.
Cater: Oh really? So no reason for me to be jealous?
Trey: No! You’re the only one for me.
Cater: Is that so?
Trey: I promise! Riddle and I are just dating, okay? He’s my partner.
Cater: So there are no best-friends-feelings involved?
Trey: You are still my one and only best friend! He’s just the love of my life, nothing more!
Cater: But I’m still the platonic love of your life, right?
Trey: Of course bro!
Cater: Bro...

Halloween Special || Riddle Rosehearts || Corpse Bride Au
This is part one of the Corpse Bride Au series, inspired by the skeleton costumes the Heartslabyul boys wear. Each Heartslabyul boy will get their own part in this series. Next parts: 2,3,4,5
The Netherworld was divided into separate sections. Each sections having different people full of colorful personalities. The Heartslabyul sector was no different. Though if one was in need of a husband to marry, then one should look no further than a rose of cards.
Riddle Rosehearts -
Riddle was the son of a noble family. Betrothed since birth. Something that his Mother had arranged for him.
At first, Riddle didn't pay much mind to his betrothed, trying to keep up with his studies, but a scolding from his Mother got him to pay attention to the girl that had been picked out for him.
And gradually, Riddle fell in love. Of course his Mother would pick out the perfect girl for him. His Mother always knew best after all.
Riddle worked to better himself for his Mother and his betrothed, fully believing the two would have a happy life together.
What Riddle didn't know was that his betrothed was cheating on him behind his back. And he didn't find out, until one fateful night. The night that was supposed to be their wedding.
She had asked to meet him in the graveyard before the wedding. His Mother was strictly against it. Stating that the first time he would be seeing her that day would be when she walks down the aisle.
But his betrothed rarely ever asked for anything, and it wasn't like she was asking for much.
And so, he went to the graveyard, dressed in his wedding suit. He waited for her to show up. And when he finally saw a shadow out of the corner of his eye, he turned to look at her in glee.
Only to be surprised by the stab of the heart from some stranger. The one that his betrothed had kissed right after.
And then everything went dark. Was this the price he paid for disobeying his Mother? Where had he gone wrong? Was he not good enough for his betrothed? What was he supposed to do? What could he possibly do to make the pain of betrayal go away?
Next time, Riddle swore to himself that he would get it right. He would be the most perfect groom and then his significant other wouldn't even consider leaving him. Wouldn't consider their eyes straying to another.
But for that, he had to wait. For there was no one in the netherworld that was fit to marry him. Yet that is.
And then that day came, on Halloween night, when he was proposed to once more.
Riddle was ecstatic that you had proposed to him. And seeing as this wasn't a betrothal, you must have meant it, right?
He showed you around Heartslabyul in excitement. The official ceremony would come later after he's shown you around the place.
He showed you his favorite places. Like the libraries and the rose garden. Though, all of the roses were dead. But it was the thought that counts, right?
And even though you were both practically already married, Riddle still made the effort to court you like a proper gentlemen. By the book. It was disobeying and deviating that had gotten him in this mess, after all.
Walks around the town. Candle lit dinners. A gift of roses, no matter how dead they were. Poems of his undead affection.
And once he felt as if it was time, which had been rather quick considering the handbook stated the living couldn't stay in Heartslabyul very long, he proposed a proper wedding ceremony to you.
Of course, you were already married. It was just to help you fit in a bit more with the residents of the netherworld.
You'll say yes, won't you? You're already married after all. So why not make the arrangement a bit more permanent?

Twisted Wonderland X Reader Halloween Specials
Making a Halloween Special for the Heartslabyul boys. Since they all decided to dress up as skeletons, it will basically be a “Corpse Bride Au”. This is the one dorm that I will confirm I’m writing for.
Would anyone like to see any other specials for the other Twisted Wonderland boys? Will try and incorporate their Halloween costumes into it somehow.
