Obsessed

I kind of added some on my own as well lol, especially adding slightly more variety in body type in the main cast but specifically:

Suchan: gave him some compound eyes

Huijin: not a ton here, but I made her shorter than canon

Hyeseong: this man is TALL. This man is SKINTY. This man is ALL LEG.

Dohwa: give this girl some thighs p l e a s e. Also she gets braids because they kinda look like scorpion claws

Junhyeong: GIVE THIS MAN SOME CHONK and also he’s the tallest. Big spider

Daun: she’s a spidey now

I’m busy with felting so I don’t have any (good) sketches to show, but I have had ideas for extra bug traits for the other members of the cast, too:

Huijin: I feel like her hair should be her wing covers, since that’s what it’s supposed to be invoking. Like, it would still be hair-like and separate into strands at the bottom, but as it goes up it’s fused together into a glossy sheet. Maybe there’s also a pair of flightless but pretty vestigial wings, I don’t know. I’d definitely want to giver her ocelli as well– maybe next to her eyebrows or maybe just replacing them for a dot eyebrow look. Either way, could be covered with her hat and/or her bangs.

Hyeseong: I think he should have less human feet, like a proper insect tarsus. Makes him even taller and leggier and a bit digitigrade when he’s barefoot, but he can bend and squeeze them into a pair of shoes as well, which is what he usually does. He could also afford to have a bit more exoskeleton– I’m thinking a bit of spikiness on his forearm with a visible joint seam on his wrist. Some plating along his back and onto his neck as well. Like Huijin, it’s all things that his jacket would cover by default.

Dohwa: Not much I’ve thought about adding! I definitely think she’s missing some seriously pronounced canines, though.

Junhyeong: No more clean shaven birdeaters, put some hair on that beast. Some of his bristles follow a regular human body hair pattern, but it starts looking more like a short mane on his upper back and shoulders. The hair on the back of his head continues straight down his neck. It’s also pretty dense on his forearms, which is where he usually sheds them from in combat.

Daun: I want her to be a spidertaur– there’s so many that show up in the background and I want there to be one in the main class! It wouldn’t really effect her fighting style, and might actually help for her to have more points of contact with the ground. I also think this would be a fun way to heighten the contrasts between her and Hyeona’s designs.

Ji: I think his design should take a cue from the ant predator’s design– have his arm invoke a beetle’s abdomen. If it were me, I’d place the end of his abdomen at his wrist, with his fingers being like the beetle’s legs. Instead of the tattoo (though maybe it could just have its placement shifted) his arm would have that striking black-and-orange aposematism.
